The first few matches and segments for the upcoming April 25th episode of AAA on Fox have now been announced.

WWE’s Rey Fenix is scheduled to be in action against an unnamed opponent, while Texano Jr. is set to return and team up with El Grande Americano and face the duo of El Mesias and Mecha Wolf. Texano Jr. has not wrestled for the promotion since October 2024.

Date confirmed for Americano mask vs. mask match

The rivalry between El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) and Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) is officially set to culminate on May 30.

After a challenge was issued over the weekend, WWE has announced that the two Americanos will face off in a mask vs. mask match at AAA Noche de los Grandes on Saturday, May 30. The news was announced in a tweet sent out by The Undertaker, who is a leading voice in AAA creative

“Circle the date on your calendars!,” Undertaker wrote. “Mask vs. Mask will take place at #AAANocheDeLosGrandes on May 30th at Arena Monterrey. This will be intense!”

Our Dave Meltzer had reported this as the expected date for the bout, with Noche de los Grandes set to air as a full live special rather than being broken up into one-hour blocks.

To build up the match, Kaiser and Gable had a brawl in Mexico last Saturday that has been highly praised by fans for how intense it looked. It included Gable threatening AAA broadcast team member Andrea Bazarte — who is Kaiser’s girlfriend — before Kaiser made the save and laid down the mask vs. mask challenge.

Gable originally played the Americano character but was forced out of action for several months due to a shoulder injury he suffered in 2025. During that time, Kaiser took over the gimmick and expanded on it with the introduction of sidekicks Rayo Americano (Pete Dunne) and Bravo Americano (Tyler Bate).

El Grande Americano mask vs. mask match date set

El Grande Americano and The Original Grande Americano in a mask vs. mask match is planned for AAA Noche de los Grandes in Monterrey on May 30.

The Ludwig Kaiser version of the character challenged Chad Gable’s El Grande Americano to the stipulation on Friday’s live edition of AAA on Fox in Mexico City. No date for the match was specified on the broadcast.

However, Dave Meltzer addressed what the plan for the match is in the March 30, 2026, edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, also noting that the show is set to air live in full, rather than be broken up into three one-hour blocks.

Meltzer wrote:

“The 5/30 Noche de los Grandes at Arena Monterrey, which right now is to be headlined by Grande Americano Kaiser vs. Grande American Gable in mask vs. mask match, will air as a full live show rather than be broken up into three one hour blocks.”

WWE will be on a European tour at the time, with a live event in Liverpool on May 28, followed by SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain on May 29, Clash in Italy on May 31, and Raw from the same venue on June 1. Additional live events in Portugal, Spain, and France are scheduled for the following week.

El Grande Americano issues mask vs. mask challenge to Original Americano

The gauntlet has been thrown for a mask vs. mask match.

After spending most of the night brawling around the arena, both Americanos had to be separated again at the end of the show. The second Americano grabbed a microphone and said their feud had to end, issuing a mask vs. mask challenge. Although no date was officially announced, previous reports indicate this match will take place at AAA’s next big event, Noche de Los Grandes, on May 30.

The Original Americano defeated Octagon Jr. on Saturday, taking Octagon’s mask then making him submit. After the match, he quickly confronted comedian Ojitos de Huevo, putting him in an ankle lock until interviewer Andrea Bazarte slapped him. Americano began stalking Bazarte until the second Americano came out for the save, the two having a pull-apart brawl.

Towards the end of the Intercontinental title match, the two were seen brawling again. After Penta retained, they were brawling in the stands and eventually found themselves back in the ring, where the second Americano issued the challenge.

Six-man tag match added to WWE Raw

A six-man tag match is the latest addition to the WWE Raw lineup for tonight.

WWE has announced that Penta, Dragon Lee & Je’Von Evans will team up for a match against El Grande Americano, Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano on Raw. The match was made after Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) cut a social media promo complaining about not being part of the Intercontinental title ladder match at WrestleMania.

The WrestleMania ladder match is currently a five-way bout with Penta defending against Dragon Lee, Evans, JD McDonagh, and Rusev. It remains to be seen whether any other participants will be added.

Raw is in Houston with tonight’s show taking place at the Toyota Center. It’s the second-to-last episode before WrestleMania.

Here is the announced lineup:

WWE Raw (Monday, April 6) —

  • CM Punk appears
  • Brock Lesnar & Oba Femi appear
  • LA Knight vs. Austin Theory
  • Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh

AAA notes: Rey de Reyes qualifiers, new number one contender for Cruiserweight title

Notes from Saturday’s AAA television show that aired immediately after WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.

The February 28 AAA show began with Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano challenging the original El Grande Americano to prove his authenticity by speaking Spanish. Taking shots at his limited Spanish vocabulary and recent AI vignettes, Kaiser’s Americano sent Pimpinela Escarlata to speak with the original Americano.

However, things soon turned haywire when the original Americano attacked Escarlata, injuring the wrestler. Escarlata was previously scheduled to be in the Rey de Reyes qualifier match with Omos, Ethan Page, and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. However, after the injury angle, Escarlata was replaced by Kaiser’s Grande Americano in the match.

The episode also featured an AAA World Cruiserweight Championship No 1 contender’s match between Dragon Lee and Jack Cartwheel. Following a heavily praised match, Lee stood tall and became the No 1 contender for the Cruiserweight title. However, he was soon interrupted by TJP before an all-out brawl broke out amongst Laredo Kid, TJP, Lee, and Cartwheel. The segment finished with Cartwheel standing tall with the title.

In the main-event of the show, Omos, Ethan Page, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., and El Grande Americano II faced off for a chance to qualify in the Rey de Reyes tournament final. In the closing moments of the match, fans saw interuptions from Rayo and Bravo Americano handcuffing Omos to the ring post, Santos Escobar interupting Dr. Wagner Jr., La Parka arriving and hitting the original Americano with chairshots, before Kaiser’s Americano hit Page with the running headbutt and secured himself a spot in the finals.

He will now join Original Grande Americano and La Parka in the four-way match at Rey de Reyes, with four other men competing for the final spot next week.

AAA on Fox lineup | March 7, 2026

Lucha Libre AAA is set to host its  Rey de Reyes show on March 14th. However, with one spot remaining, Santos Escobar will be going against Mr. Iguana, Psycho Clown, and Abismo Negro to qualify for the final position on the upcoming March 7, 2026, episode of AAA on Fox.

  • Santos Escobar vs. Mr. Iguana vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro for the last remaining spot in the Rey de Reyes tournament final.

Original El Grande Americano advances to AAA Rey de Reyes tournament finals

The original El Grande Americano has cost the second El Grande Americano a grand opportunity, and instead himself qualified for the Rey de Reyes tournament finals.

In the February 7th edition of AAA on Fox, the original Americano defeated Rey Fenix, Dragon Lee, and Octagon Jr. to advance to the finals. However, it was El Grande Americano II (Ludwig Kaiser) who was originally scheduled to compete in the match.

Instead, Gable’s Americano attacked and handcuffed Kaiser’s Americano backstage to take his spot in the qualifying match, before winning it himself.

Midway through the match, Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) attempted to help Kaiser’s Americano get free from the handcuffs, but were unsuccessful.

In the finishing moments of the match, Americano, in his trademark fashion, slipped a metal plate under his mask to headbutt all of his opponents before hitting Octagon Jr. with a diving headbutt to secure the pinfall.

The post-match segment saw Kaiser’s Americano run to the ring as Gable’s Americano performed a successful near escape. Till now, only Gable’s Americano and La Parka have been confirmed as the first two finalists of the Rey de Reyes tournament. The Rey de Reyes tournament final four-way is scheduled to take place on March 14th, 2026.

Two matches added to WWE Raw lineup

The lineup for tonight’s post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE Raw has a couple of new additions.

WWE has announced that Penta vs. Bronson Reed and Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano will both take place on Raw tonight. The show is being held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The Penta vs. Reed match will continue the storyline of Penta trying to dismantle The Vision, who are looking to get back on the right track after all four members came up short at the Royal Rumble. The match included Vision member Bron Breakker entering at number two and being taken out by a mystery attacker.

Evans and Americano faced off on Raw a couple of weeks ago, but the match ended in a referee stoppage due to it being feared that Evans had suffered a concussion. Evans was checked out by medical personnel after the match and was determined to be okay.

There were two El Grande Americanos in the men’s Rumble on Saturday as Chad Gable returned in the gimmick that he originally portrayed. Ludwig Kaiser took over the character after Gable was sidelined with a shoulder injury last year.

Here is the updated card for Raw tonight:

WWE Raw (Monday, February 2) —

  • Philly Street Fight: Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends against Raquel Rodriguez
  • Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns appears
  • Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan appears
  • Penta vs. Bronson Reed
  • Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano

Chad Gable returns at WWE Royal Rumble as Original El Grande Americano

Chad Gable returned at the Royal Rumble right where he left off.

Gable entered at number 13 and was billed as the Original El Grande Americano, confronting the current Americano who entered before him. The two had a staredown and soon fought, with the original Americano eliminating the current one. The original was then eliminated by Trick Williams.

Ludwig Kaiser took over the role of El Grande Americano when Gable was injured last June with a shoulder injury that required surgery. Shortly after, Kaiser began making appearances as El Grande Americano in AAA and became a babyface star there, appearing regularly. On Raw, he is a heel with Rayo and Bravo Americano, the former Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate.

Another returning star during Saturday’s Rumble match was LA Knight, who was taken out by The Vision in December. He returned and targeted Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Austin Theory, managing to eliminate the latter two.

Aside from Gable, the only other surprise in the men’s Rumble match was the former Powerhouse Hobbs. Royce Keys made his debut, eliminating Damian Priest early and stayed on for a while before ultimately being eliminated by The Vision.

Gunther to face El Grande Americano at WWE house show

Former Imperium stablemates Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser are set to share the ring again — this time as opponents.

WWE has announced that Gunther vs. El Grande Americano will take place at the company’s house show in Mannheim, Germany on Tuesday, January 13. The event is taking place on WWE’s Road to Royal Rumble tour, which includes a trip to Europe for a slate of house shows and some TV dates. Germany will be hosting SmackDown on January 9 and Raw on January 12, with those respective shows happening in Berlin and Dusseldorf.

Kaiser has been portraying the El Grande Americano character ever since Chad Gable was forced out of action with an injury over the summer. Since then, two more Americanos have been added with Pete Dunne playing Rayo Americano and Tyler Bate playing Bravo Americano.

The last time Gunther and Kaiser were involved in the same match was when they were tag team partners on an October 2024 episode of SmackDown.

Gunther is coming off a huge moment where he submitted John Cena in Cena’s retirement match. The Ring General looks to be a player in the World Heavyweight Championship scene heading into the new year.

The trip to Germany will be a homecoming for Kaiser, and Gunther also has considerable history in the country from his indie days.

In total, there are 12 dates set for WWE’s January European tour. Here is the complete list:

  • Thursday, January 8: House show in Leipzig, Germany
  • Friday, January 9: SmackDown in Berlin, Germany
  • Saturday, January 10: House show in Glasgow, Scotland
  • Sunday, January 11: House show in Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Monday, January 12: Raw in Dusseldorf, Germany
  • Tuesday, January 13: House show in Mannheim, Germany
  • Thursday, January 15: House show in Newcastle, England
  • Friday, January 16: SmackDown in London, England
  • Saturday, January 17: House show in Gdansk, Poland
  • Sunday, January 18: House show in Nottingham, England
  • Monday, January 19: Raw in Belfast, Northern Ireland

AAA Guerra de Titanes notes: Rey de Reyes date & location official, Penta, El Grande Americano

Notes from Saturday’s Guerra de Titanes.

Prior to the main event of Saturday’s show in Guadalajara, AAA confirmed that Rey de Reyes would be held in Puebla in March. Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reported earlier this week that the show would be taking place on March 14 at the Auditorio GNP Seguros.

Rey Mysterio & Rey Fenix emerged victorious in the main event, defeating El Grande Americano and Dominik Mysterio thanks to help from Penta, who prevented Americano from using a foreign object. Penta instead put the object under his own mask to attack Dominik. Fenix took out Americano and Rey ended up pinning his own son following the 619.

After the match Americano attempted to help Dominik, who responded by pushing Americano and storming away with his championships. As Americano stood in the ring unsure of what had just transpired, Rey Mysterio extended his hand. Americano ended up accepting the handshake and left, showing respect to the WWE Hall of Famer.

The show closed with Rey Fenix’s son and Canelo Alvarez’s son entering the ring and doing Penta’s dance with the rest of the babyfaces to close out the show.

Jasper Troy wins Speed Championship on WWE NXT

A new men’s Speed Champion has been crowned.

Jasper Troy defeated El Grande Americano to win the Speed title for the first time on Tuesday. The finish had Rayo and Bravo preventing Jasper from using his chain. When the referee threw them out, one of Los Americanos slipped Americano an object that he’s used to win multiple matches. Americano went to the ring to use the weapon, but the referee caught Americano before he could use it. Americano ended up walking into the black hole slam by Jasper, scoring the win and his first title in WWE.

Americano had been Speed Champion dating back to earlier this year when the program was still running on X, winning the title in May. When the titles were moved over to NXT, El Grande Americano was nowhere to be seen until recently.

The Women’s Speed Championship will also be decided soon after a new tournament was held when Sol Ruca vacated the title due to injury. Zaria has already advanced and will face the winner between Fallon Henley and Skylar Rae.

New number one contender for WWE Speed Championship crowned

The next WWE Speed Championship match is now set.

Jasper Troy defeated Axiom in the finals of the number one contendership tournament that took place Tuesday on NXT. The two fought for the duration of the time limit before Troy was able to grab Axiom and pin him with the black hole slam with six seconds left on the clock. Troy now has earned a Speed title match against El Grande Americano on the November 11 edition of NXT.

Rayo and Bravo, Americano’s associates, have been seen in the crowd in recent weeks scouting the competition. Although Grande Americano has been champion dating back to May, he has not been seen with the championship on main roster television. He did cut a promo about the tournament during this past weekend’s NXT Halloween Havoc event.

The Women’s Speed Championship was declared vacant on Tuesday after Sol Ruca decided to focus on her recovery, handing the title over to Ava. A tournament will be held starting on next week’s show to crown a new champion.

AAA Heroes Inmortales notes: Hijo del Vikingo, El Grande Americano, Wyatt Sicks

News and notes from AAA Heroes Inmortales.

The main event of Saturday’s show in Mexico City saw Dominik Mysterio successfully defend the AAA Mega Championship against Dragon Lee. Although Lee put up a hell of a fight, he couldn’t overcome Mysterio’s cleverness. After a ref bump, Mysterio grabbed his boot that Lee took off and smashed him in the head. Mysterio then followed with a frog splash for the victory.

After the match, Hijo del Vikingo came out and attacked Mysterio, bitter over his recent title loss. However, El Grande Americano came out to even the odds, once again helping Mysterio. A match was then set up for AAA’s television taping on November 22, where Americano and Mysterio will team up to take on Lee and Vikingo.

The show started off with Vikingo coming out, acting more heelish than on recent shows. He got into a confrontation with Americano, saying neither he or Mysterio are really Mexican, and called himself the Canelo of AAA. Americano responded by saying that the only similarity between the two is that both lost in Las Vegas. The two eventually set up a match for the November 28 taping in Puebla, Vikingo’s hometown.

Later backstage, Vikingo ran into Dorian Roldan, who told Vikingo that they have a lot in common.

The Wyatt Sicks made another appearance in AAA, again singling out the AAA Tag Team Champions Psycho Clown and Pagano. After the champions defeated Sanson and Forastero in a street fight, the Wyatt chair appeared. All of the Wyatt Sicks minus Uncle Howdy appeared, laying out Psycho and Pagano. Rowan held up the AAA Tag Team titles after the beatdown, but it remains unclear when they’ll be challenging for the titles.
