El Hijo del Vikingo wins Latin American Championship at AAA Noche de Los Grandes

El Hijo del Vikingo is the brand new AAA Latin American Champion.

In the second match of the night on the May 30, 2026 edition of AAA Noche de los Grandes at Arena Monterrey, fans saw Vikingo defeat El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. to crown himself the new Latin American Champion.

Minutes after Rey Fenix won the Cruiserweight Championship, Vikingo, with Omos and Dorian Roldan by his side, defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in a short, almost 8-minute match. The match also saw the involvement of Galeno, who tried to take down Omos. It also had Mini Vikingo interfering and attacking El Hijo del Vikingo with a springboard dropkick.

Despite numerous disruptions, Vikingo ultimately secured victory by pinning El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. with a 630 senton in the final moments of the match. Moments after winning the match, Vikingo escaped the ring and celebrated his new championship win with Roldan and Omos at ringside.

El Hijo del Vikingo suffers apparent injury during AAA on FOX match

On the May 2, 2026 episode of AAA on Fox, El Hijo del Vikingo apparently suffered an injury during his match.

In the opening match of the night on Saturday, May 2, 2026, El Hijo del Vikingo faced off against Mini Vikingo in a high-flying and brutal match. Following a closely contested fight, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. interfered and helped Mini Vikingo secure the victory.

However, toward the closing point of the match, fans saw Vikingo clothesline Mini Vikingo and hit a scary Urinagi from the top turnbuckle. Shortly after, he was seen clutching his shoulder.

Although not confirmed yet, it seemed Vikingo suffered a shoulder injury following that Urinagi spot. After the match, Omos made his way to the ring and took out Wagner Jr. and Mini Vikingo, while the medical team checked out El Hijo del Vikingo.

While the injury has not been confirmed yet, Vikingo is next scheduled to face El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. at AAA Noche de Los Grandes for the AAA Latin American Championship.

Penta set to defend WWE Intercontinental title in AAA

Penta is now confirmed to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship in AAA.

In the main-event segment of the AAA Rey de Reyes third week on Saturday, March 28, fans witnessed El Hijo del Vikingo address his loss against Dominik Mysterio, before calling out Penta.

Vikingo claimed that he had a new goal in mind and wanted Penta and his WWE Intercontinental Championship. Immediately, Penta would come out to the ring and confront Vikingo.

The two then engaged in a war of words before Penta accepted Vikingo’s title challenge. Penta is now scheduled to defend his WWE Intercontinental title at the upcoming AAA show in Mexico City on April 11. This will mark the first time the WWE Intercontinental title is defended in AAA.

The April 11 AAA show will also feature Lady Flammer’s longest-reigning Reina de Reinas championship celebration. She is now the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas champion in AAA’s history.

Result of Mega title match from AAA Rey de Reyes

In the main event of AAA Rey de Reyes, Dominik Mysterio retained his Mega Championship.

In a match filled with multiple stipulations, Mysterio reigned victorious after defeating El Hijo del Vikingo. Mysterio, 29, retained his AAA Mega championship after pinning Vikingo.

Despite interference from Vikingo’s manager, Dorian Roldan, and Omos, Vikingo failed to reign supreme. While Omos performed a chokeslam on Mysterio, it was the last moment return and interference from Mini Vikingo that saved Mysterio’s title.

While Omos grabbed and choked Mini Vikingo, Mysterio performed a low blow on Omos to send him down. The duo then followed it up with repeated chair shots to Vikingo, before hitting him with a 619 and Frog Splash to end the match and earn the victory.

Mysterio will now defend his AAA Mega title against the 2026 Rey de Reyes winner, El Grande Americano II.

Tonight’s main event was full of stipulations. The stipulations were that if Vikingo lost, he could not challenge for the title anymore as long as Mysterio is champion, and if Mysterio lost, he would have to leave AAA. And, based on tonight’s results, Vikingo will no longer be able to challenge for the title till Mysterio holds it.

Stipulations revealed for Mega title match at AAA Rey de Reyes

The stakes are high for the Mega title match at AAA Rey de Reyes, with the stipulations now confirmed.

On March 14, 2026, El Hijo del Vikingo will challenge Dominik Mysterio for his AAA Mega Championship at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla in a no-disqualification match. The stipulations for the match includes if Mysterio wins, Vikingo cannot challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is the champion. If Vikingo wins, Mysterio must leave AAA forever.

In the main event of the February 21 edition of AAA on Fox, fans witnessed the contract signing between Mysterio and Vikingo. While the Mexican luchador had previously asked Mysterio to put his hair on line, he appeared with a new set of stipulations on Saturday’s episode. Vikingo previously earned a title shot at Mysterio’s Mega title by winning a multi-man match.

Saturday’s main event segment concluded with Omos confronting Mysterio. However, Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano appeared in time to make the save and escorted the champion away. Although the situation changed when the original El Grande Americano attacked the current one. Mysterio watched the chaos unfold for a moment before ultimately walking out.

El Hijo del Vikingo proposes stipulation for upcoming AAA Rey de Reyes title match

El Hijo del Vikingo wants Dominik Mysterio to put his hair on the line during their upcoming AAA Mega Championship match.

Vikingo is scheduled to face Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship on March 14th, 2026, at the Lucha Libre AAA’s Rey de Reyes show. However, with still weeks left before the title match, Vikingo had another proposal for Mysterio.

On the February 7th edition of AAA on Fox, fans witnessed Mysterio walk out and hype himself up in front of the crowd, before Vikingo appeared. The 28-year-old challenged Mysterio to put his hair on the line as well during his title match.

While not demanding an immediate answer, he offered Mysterio some time to think. Vikingo will now await the answer on the upcoming February 21st episode of AAA on Fox during the contract signing of their title match.

No. 1 contender crowned for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Title

Tonight’s edition of Lucha Libre AAA’s debut on Fox in Latin America saw El Hijo Del Vikingo defeat El Grande Americano to crown himself the brand new number one contender for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega championship.

In the main-event of the show, Vikingo faced off against Americano in a match that saw interference from Dorian Roldan and Omos. The final moments of the match witnessed Roldan and Omos get involved and help Vikingo seal the victory with a 450 splash.

Mysterio is the reigning AAA Mega champion and has held the title for nearly 128-days. He won the title from El Hijo del Vikingo on September 12th at the AAA x WWE Worlds Collide 2025: Las Vegas. With Mysterio now sidelined with an injury, it is currently unknown when Vikingo will challenge Mysterio for the title.

The aftermath of the match saw Omos attack Americano, before Rey Mysterio arrived with a kendo stick to make the save.

El Hijo del Vikingo aligns with Omos & Dorian Roldan at AAA Guerra de Titanes

A new version of El Ojo was born at Guerra de Titanes.

El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dragon Lee at Saturday’s event in Guadalajara thanks to the help of Omos, who came to the ring following a ref bump and gave Lee the Last Ride powerbomb. Vikingo quickly hit the 450 splash and covered Lee for the victory.

After the match, Dorian Roldan came out and shook hands with Vikingo and Omos, cementing their new alliance. Roldan cut a promo mocking Dragon Lee and his family, with Lee’s father Bestia del Ring sitting at ringside. Roldan said that money had brought them together, and introduced the crowd to the newest version of El Ojo, which sees all.

Omos has been used sparingly in the last few years despite remaining under contract to WWE, having competed in a brief tour for Pro Wrestling NOAH, who has an informal relationship with the company. Omos did compete in the Copa Bardahl at Triplemania in August, winning the match after eliminating La Parka.

In the weeks following Vikingo’s heel turn, Roldan had been seen attempting to recruit Vikingo despite having feuded with Vikingo just months prior.

AAA Heroes Inmortales notes: Hijo del Vikingo, El Grande Americano, Wyatt Sicks

News and notes from AAA Heroes Inmortales.

The main event of Saturday’s show in Mexico City saw Dominik Mysterio successfully defend the AAA Mega Championship against Dragon Lee. Although Lee put up a hell of a fight, he couldn’t overcome Mysterio’s cleverness. After a ref bump, Mysterio grabbed his boot that Lee took off and smashed him in the head. Mysterio then followed with a frog splash for the victory.

After the match, Hijo del Vikingo came out and attacked Mysterio, bitter over his recent title loss. However, El Grande Americano came out to even the odds, once again helping Mysterio. A match was then set up for AAA’s television taping on November 22, where Americano and Mysterio will team up to take on Lee and Vikingo.

The show started off with Vikingo coming out, acting more heelish than on recent shows. He got into a confrontation with Americano, saying neither he or Mysterio are really Mexican, and called himself the Canelo of AAA. Americano responded by saying that the only similarity between the two is that both lost in Las Vegas. The two eventually set up a match for the November 28 taping in Puebla, Vikingo’s hometown.

Later backstage, Vikingo ran into Dorian Roldan, who told Vikingo that they have a lot in common.

The Wyatt Sicks made another appearance in AAA, again singling out the AAA Tag Team Champions Psycho Clown and Pagano. After the champions defeated Sanson and Forastero in a street fight, the Wyatt chair appeared. All of the Wyatt Sicks minus Uncle Howdy appeared, laying out Psycho and Pagano. Rowan held up the AAA Tag Team titles after the beatdown, but it remains unclear when they’ll be challenging for the titles.

WWE Raw notes: Nikki Bella, El Hijo del Vikingo, Bayley

Notes from Monday’s WWE Raw which featured Nikki Bella’s return, El Hijo del Vikingo, plus a new character teased for Bayley.

Nikki Bella’s return —

The WWE Hall of Famer made her return to Raw after missing last week’s episode in saving Natalya and Maxxine Dupri from a post-match attack at the hands of Becky Lynch.

After Lynch defeated Natalya in a Women’s IC title match, she refused to let go of the Disarmher on Natalya. Dupri attempted to save, but Lynch quickly did away with her. Bella then ran in and laid out Lynch.

Bella challenged Lynch to an IC title match in her last appearance on the August 4 Raw, but that bout has yet to be confirmed.

Later on Raw in an interview with Byron Saxton, Bella revealed that she will be at Raw next week in Birmingham, England.

El Hijo del Vikingo —

AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo made an appearance on Monday’s show in an angle to build to his title defense against Dominik Mysterio at Worlds Collide on September 12.

Mysterio was ringside for Finn Balor and JD McDonagh vs. Dragon Lee and Mr. Iguana on Raw. After Balor and McDonagh’s win, Mysterio cleared the announce table and threatened to put Lee through it. Vikingo ran in for the momentary save, but ended up overwhelmed by The Judgment Day, with Mysterio nailing him with a frog splash.

Bayley —

The latest in a series of vignettes teasing a new character for Bayley aired during Monday’s episode.

Bayley’s inner monologue was heard speaking to her and calling her out in some sort of split personality gimmick.

Mega title match set for WWE & AAA Worlds Collide

This September, Dominik Mysterio will get another chance to challenge for the AAA Mega Championship.

El Hijo del Vikingo will defend his Mega Championship against Dominik at WWE & Lucha Libre AAA’s next Worlds Collide special in Las Vegas. The one-on-one match was set up with Dominik issuing a challenge to Vikingo, saying the only reason Vikingo retained at Triplemania is because of AJ Styles’ interference.

AAA’s Triplemania event in Mexico City last weekend was headlined by Vikingo, Dominik, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano facing off in a four-way match for the Mega belt. Dominik appeared to have the title won after using a loaded mask as a weapon, but Styles pulled the referee out of the ring as Dominik was pinning Lee. He then took out Dominik with a Styles Clash, leading to Vikingo hitting a 630 and pinning Dominik for the win.

Vikingo is a two-time AAA Mega Champion, with his current reign beginning at the end of May when he won the title from Alberto El Patron.

The Worlds Collide event is being held in Las Vegas on Friday, September 12. It has a start time of 10 p.m. Eastern, meaning the show will begin right after that night’s SmackDown episode in Virginia ends.

After announcing its acquisition of AAA earlier this year, WWE presented a Worlds Collide event with the promotion in Los Angeles in June. That show aired live on YouTube, as did Triplemania this past weekend.

Report: AAA stars in Philadelphia ahead of WWE Raw

Two luchadores from AAA are reportedly in Philadelphia ahead of tonight’s WWE Raw at the Wells Fargo Center.

Fightful Español reports that Mr. Iguana and AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo are in the city and expected to take part in Monday’s show.

Vikingo is reportedly set to continue his feud with Dominik Mysterio, after retaining his title against Dominik, El Grande Americano, and Dragon Lee in a four way match at Triplemania. AJ Styles interfered at the end of the bout, giving Dominik a Styles Clash moments before the finish.

As for Mr. Iguana, Fightful reports that WWE “has been very happy with him so far” and he is expected to appear across WWE programming periodically. Iguana teamed with Lola Vice and Nino Hamburguesa against Judgment Day at Triplemania. At one point during the bout, Iguana’s plush iguana doll named La Yeska was assaulted by Finn Balor’s new Demon-inspired puppet, Demonito, which is now selling on WWE Shop for $99.99 USD.

AAA notes: Match with WWE stars set for Triplemania 33

Notes from Friday’s AAA television show in Mexico City.

A Triplemania XXXIII match for the Mega Championship was set up on the show. Vikingo, who was booed, came out and issued an open challenge. Dragon Lee arrived to answer the challenge, then El Grande Americano. Lee and Vikingo took out Americano but suddenly another masked man entered the ring and took both of them out, revealing himself to be Dominik Mysterio. A four-way for the Mega Championship was then confirmed for Triplemania, which takes place on August 16.

El Grande Mexicano made his AAA debut earlier in the night, defeating Octagon Jr. in a match where he was cheered. After his win, he cut a promo declaring that he is Mexican, which brought more cheers from the crowd. He also sang the song ‘Cielito Lindo.’

In the main event, Alberto El Patron lost to Mesias in a match where if Alberto lost, he would have to leave AAA. The match was rife with interference, with Dorian Roldan, heel referee Hijo de Tirantes, and NGD freely interfering. Patron took out Roldan and NGD with a guitar but the distraction allowed Mesias to throw powder in Patron’s face then scored a fast count win, putting Patron out of the promotion, at least in storyline.

Latin Lover, who was sitting in the crowd, entered the ring as all the rudos celebrated. He and Patron, who had been feuding for the last year, shook hands and hugged to end the show.

Steel cage stipulation added to AAA Triplemania Regia main event

The main event of Triplemania Regia this weekend will be contested inside of a steel cage.

At Sunday’s event in Monterrey, Mexico, El Hijo del Vikingo is putting his AAA Mega Championship on the line against Alberto El Patron. It’s now been confirmed to be a steel cage match with Lucha Libre AAA adding the stipulation after it was requested by El Patron.

This is a rematch from their May 31 meeting where Vikingo defeated El Patron to become the new Mega Champion. That title change took place in advance of AAA’s Worlds Collide event with WWE, which was headlined by Vikingo representing AAA and defeating WWE’s Chad Gable to retain the title.

At a Triplemania Regia press conference yesterday, there was an angle where El Patron attacked Vikingo to build up their match.

There are no U.S. broadcast plans for Triplemania Regia, but matches will air in Mexico on Max and Space. The full card is listed below:
