Bronson Reed updates fans following car accident

WWE star Bronson Reed confirmed that he was involved in a car accident last night. Reed confirmed on his Instagram Story that he had a rear collision:

“Just had a rear collision. Thankfully, everyone is okay. But people stop driving on your damn phones, pay attention. People have kids in their cars.”

Bronson Reed Injury

Reed has been off of WWE television since February, when he sustained torn biceps during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on RAW. It is not known at this time if this accident has aggravated the injury in any way, also on the surface it does not appear to have.

The injury caused WWE to make major changes to their plans for The Vision, and with Logan Paul now out injured as well, it is just Bron Breakker, Austin Theory and Paul Heyman representing the group on television and in-ring for the time being.

WWE has not issued an official timetable for Reed’s return (as of writing).

WWE considering new additions to The Vision

It sounds like Paul Heyman’s faction The Vision could be getting some reinforcements soon.

With Bronson Reed already sidelined, The Vision suffered another blow with Logan Paul tearing his triceps last weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The World Tag Team titles do still remain in The Vision’s possession with Bron Breakker filling in as Austin Theory’s partner. And Dave Meltzer reports that WWE has discussed the idea of adding other members to the group, even past the teased addition of Maxxine Dupri.

Meltzer wrote in the new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

  • On Raw, they said that Paul Heyman had put ‘The Vision’ and not individual members of the team in all contracts related to the title, so Theory & Bron Breakker (the only members of the team right now not injured, although I expect them to add members–besides Maxxine Dupri – and there has been talk of that even before this injury) are going to be the tag team champions for now.

The Vision has been snakebitten by injuries since its introduction. Founding member Seth Rollins hurt his shoulder in 2025, which sped up the timeline for him to be kicked out of the group. Breakker then needed to undergo hernia surgery earlier this year before returning at WrestleMania.

A connection between Theory and Dupri has been forming on WWE programming ahead of Dupri possibly splitting off from Otis & Akira Tozawa. Past that, it’s not known who could potentially join The Vision.

Logan Paul’s recovery timeline —

Paul has already undergone triceps surgery and was given a six-month timeline for how long he’ll be out of action. He is hoping to make it back much sooner, though, writing that he wants to be back “in a couple weeks.”

“Tore my tricep, got surgery while wide awake, told doc I wanna feel it all. Still the Tag Team champ just FYI,” Paul wrote on Instagram this Wednesday. “They’re telling me 6 month recovery but I don’t believe them, I’ll be back in a couple weeks with some @drinkprime shake (32g protein).”

WWE’s Bronson Reed undergoes successful biceps surgery

Four days after tearing his biceps on Monday Night Raw, Bronson Reed emerged from surgery with a positive message for his fans.

Reed shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed, tied up in all manner of equipment and braces, on Instagram late Friday night. He included a simple message: “Surgery done. Tomorrow is DAY ONE. The road back.”

Reed tore his biceps during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on Raw. He was originally scheduled to win the match, but could not continue. That led to Jey Uso winning the match instead. Then, tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown opened with Uso being placed into an ambulance, having been assaulted by an unknown attacker.

Logan Paul, Reed’s stablemate in the Vision, faced Jacob Fatu later in the show, with the winner replacing Uso in the Chamber match. Paul won the match after WWE Champion Drew McIntyre attacked Fatu.

Assuming nobody else is taken off the show in the next 24 hours, the field for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match is set, with Paul joining Randy Orton, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams Saturday night in Chicago. The winner will then be scheduled to challenge McIntyre at WrestleMania 42 in April.

Report: Bronson Reed injury leads to rewrites of masked man angle

Bronson Reed’s injury on WWE Raw has reportedly led to rewrites of the masked man angle.

Reed tore his biceps on the February 23 episode of Raw during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match that was ultimately won by Jey Uso. Reed was the planned winner but was not able to finish the match.

According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Logan Paul and the masked man were scheduled to be part of the finish to Reed’s match on Monday before he was injured. The report adds that the masked man angle will likely undergo heavy rewrites as a result.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Reed’s injury on the post-WWE Raw edition of Wrestling Observer Radio this week.

“It was actually the running sliding lariat that did it,” Alvarez said.

“He was breaking up a pin and literally in breaking up the pin, he just kind of hooked him with the arm to break it up, and he immediately looked at his arm.”

Meltzer noted, “(Reed) was gonna win the match, by the way. I think most people already know that anyway, but he was going to win that match.”

Bronson Reed addresses fans following injury

Earlier this week, Bronson Reed suffered a bicep injury and was ruled out of action.

On Monday, during the February 23 episode of Monday Night Raw, Bronson Reed sustained a bicep tear injury during his Elimination Chamber qualifying triple threat match against Jey Uso and original El Grande Americano.

Shortly after tearing his bicep, Reed opened up and addressed his fans on social media. Sharing his gratitude to the fans, Reed dropped a motivational message and his determination to come back.

“Appreciate the kind words. Ill be back better than ever, causing destruction like no one else can!”

The injury occurred when Reed tried to stop a pinfall. Immediately after the spot, Reed looked at his arm in pain before rolling out of the ring, where he was checked on by the referees and a medical official.

With no return timeline shared, it was recently also reported that the Vision member could be set for surgery as well. Last year, after Bron Breakker had aligned with Seth Rollins, fans saw Reed return from his toe injury and join forces with Rollins, Breakker, and Paul Heyman.

Report: Bronson Reed to undergo surgery

An update on Bronson Reed is now available.

Reed was injured during the opening match of WWE Raw this week, which led to a change in the planned finish. Michael Cole later announced on commentary that Reed suffered a torn biceps.

PWInsider reported on Wednesday that Reed’s injury is a distal bicep tear and he is expected to undergo surgery shortly if he has not done so already. The report notes that he was sent from Monday’s Raw in Atlanta to Birmingham, Alabama for the procedure.

Reed’s injury was addressed by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on the post-WWE Raw edition of Wrestling Observer Radio this week.

Bronson Reed biceps injury forces change to WWE Raw finish

Update:

Michael Cole annouced during Raw that Reed had suffered a distal biceps tear and would be out of action indefinitely.

Original story:

Bronson Reed suffered an injury during Raw.

Reed took part in a three-way match against Jey Uso and Original El Grande Americano on Monday to determine the final spot in the men’s Elimination Chamber match. At one point in the match, he dove in to break a pin attempt and immediately noticed something was wrong with his right shoulder, exiting the ring as he was tended to by WWE medical officials who held up the ‘X’ sign. The bout continued with Jey Uso scoring the victory, pinning Americano after a frog splash.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Reed is currently in medical following the match. Both he and WrestleVotes report that Reed was originally planned to win the match.

This would be the latest injury to strike the group, which was formed in the months following last year’s WrestleMania. Seth Rollins suffered a torn rotator cuff last October at Crown Jewel, forcing him to take time off. Earlier this month, Bron Breakker underwent emergency hernia surgery following an angle that took place on the Raw following the Royal Rumble, putting his WrestleMania status into question.

Two matches added to WWE Raw lineup

The lineup for tonight’s post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE Raw has a couple of new additions.

WWE has announced that Penta vs. Bronson Reed and Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano will both take place on Raw tonight. The show is being held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The Penta vs. Reed match will continue the storyline of Penta trying to dismantle The Vision, who are looking to get back on the right track after all four members came up short at the Royal Rumble. The match included Vision member Bron Breakker entering at number two and being taken out by a mystery attacker.

Evans and Americano faced off on Raw a couple of weeks ago, but the match ended in a referee stoppage due to it being feared that Evans had suffered a concussion. Evans was checked out by medical personnel after the match and was determined to be okay.

There were two El Grande Americanos in the men’s Rumble on Saturday as Chad Gable returned in the gimmick that he originally portrayed. Ludwig Kaiser took over the character after Gable was sidelined with a shoulder injury last year.

Here is the updated card for Raw tonight:

WWE Raw (Monday, February 2) —

  • Philly Street Fight: Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends against Raquel Rodriguez
  • Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns appears
  • Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan appears
  • Penta vs. Bronson Reed
  • Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano

Bronson Reed reacts to Brock Lesnar’s slip during WWE Raw

Bronson Reed says he doesn’t think Brock Lesnar was too fazed after slipping during his entrance on WWE Raw.

Lesnar came out in the closing moments of the show but, just as the pyro was going off, he went “ass over teakettle,” as described by Bryan Alvarez in this week’s Raw report. A laughing Lesnar got right up afterward, put his cowboy hat on Bron Breakker’s head, and then went to the ring.

During an appearance on the No Contest podcast with O’Shea Jackson Jr. & TJ Jefferson published on Wednesday, Reed commented on the slip, saying:

“Knowing Brock Lesnar as I do, I’ve only known him for a short amount of time, he is a very intense individual. He is the beast. That is him. I saw him slip and somehow back-roll and get straight back to his feet. And in my mind, I was like, he’s either going to laugh this off, which he seemed to do – he laughed it off and we got to business – or he’s going to be very angry and all those guys in the ring are going to pay for it.

I did see it, but I just let it slide and made sure to get back to business,” he added.

Reed later said that Drew McIntyre had mentioned the entrance was slippery for his entrance as well.

“I don’t know who wrestled beforehand because Drew said in his entrance he almost slipped. So I don’t know if someone had wet their hair or if oil or something was out there on the entranceway.”

Reed continued to say that he doesn’t think the slip fazed Lesnar too much, and that it didn’t impact how the fans reacted to him, when maybe it would have for somebody else.

“I don’t think it fazed him too much,” Reed said.

If that was someone else and they slipped, they’d probably fall on their ass and that would be it, and people wouldn’t engage anymore. It would be hard to get the people back. But because it’s Brock Lesnar, he almost back-rolled and got straight back to his feet, took his cowboy hat off, and you knew he’s going to still beat the hell out of people. So if it was going to happen to anyone, at least it was him.”

Reed’s comments about Lesnar’s slip come in around the 22-minute and 45-second mark of the podcast (cued in the video below):

**********

– Over a live shot of the University of Colorado stadium and the school’s football mascot posing, we’re welcomed to the show by the voice of Michael Cole. We then see the requisite shots of Penta, Finn Balor, as well as Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair arriving. This then segued into a recap of the goings-on in the men’s WarGames and the new additions to the match happening next week.

The Vision open SmackDown

After the recap, we saw the three members of The Vision’s WarGames team: Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker. They were accompanied by Paul Heyman, who started with his usual opening spiel. He then said that at WarGames, five of the crowd’s heroes would be locked inside a double cage where Breakker would “take a bite out of every one of their asses”. They’d be also locked in a double cage where they’d be Tsunami’d over and over again by the “Original Tribal Thief”, Bronson Reed. These five superstars would learn that you’d need an evil and violent strategy to win WarGames, which led to Heyman giving the mic to Logan Paul.

Before Paul could get far, he was interrupted by The Usos, Jimmy and Jey. With a mic in hand, Jey said that nobody wanted to hear what Paul wanted to say. Heyman interjected by saying that Jey pissed off Logan, as well as stating that he created The Bloodline was to make sure that nobody would have to live on the streets. Heyman also pointed out that the one thing he taught them in The Bloodline was the numbers game as he counted the Vision members in the ring.

Jimmy noted that they weren’t showing up to this fight alone, as the sounds of Cody Rhodes’ theme heralded the seeming arrival of the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, he never showed up as the Titantron cut to Drew McIntyre emerging from Rhodes’ bus, leaving behind the champion beaten down. The Usos ran down to check on him.

An okay start to the show, with the McIntyre bus attack on Rhodes, but I’m thinking that this feud is getting a bit stale seeing as while McIntyre gets the upper hand in the attacks, he just ends up losing when it matters, which doesn’t help his standing at all. It kinda feels like they’re going through the motions.

U.S. Title Open Challenge: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. J.D. McDonagh

Dragunov and McDonagh locked up to kick off the match as their standoff reached the corner. After McDonagh chopped at Dragunov, he was met with a hard boot to the face by the U.S. Champion. Dragunov knocked McDonagh loopy with an enzuigiri to the head but couldn’t connect with a suplex as he was chopped in the chest against the ropes. McDonagh gained the upper hand by throwing the champion hard into the middle rope, which sent him outside as we took a break at this early juncture of the match.

Live action resumed as McDonagh pummeled away at Dragunov with hard strikes to the face, as well as the Kawada-styled kicks. Dragunov answered with chops to McDanagh, followed by the Constantine Special, as both men struggled to get themselves back up. Once McDonagh and Dragunov got back up, they traded strikes until the U.S. Champion connected with a set of German suplexes that kept McDonagh down and out. Dragunov smashed the back of McDonagh’s head with repeated elbow strikes as he then nailed a nice suplex.

As Dragunov tried for another Constantine Special, McDonagh turned that into a standing Spanish Fly for the near-fall. McDonagh escaped a suplex as he then sent himself and Dragunov out of the ring with a nasty-looking suplex as the match headed into its second commercial break.

The match continued from the break as Dragunov nailed a superplex on McDonagh. Upon impact, McDonagh grabbed at Dragunov’s hair and countered into a brainbuster for an incredibly close near-fall. McDonagh headed to the top rope and missed on a moonsault, which opened him up to a big boot from Dragunov, followed by the standing uranage. Dragunov’s attempt at Torpedo Moscow was intercepted by a running knee from the Irishman, and the challenger took advantage with an incredible moonsault. One, two…. NO!

As both men got themselves up, Dragunov connected with the Torpedo Moscow after absorbing a headbutt from McDonagh. One powerbomb and H-Bomb later, and Dragunov picked up the victory in this hard-fought battle.

Ilja Dragunov def. J.D. McDonagh via pinfall to retain the United States Championship

These U.S. Title Open Challenge matches have remained the highlight of SmackDown for consecutive weeks now and this one was no exception. McDonagh and Dragunov battered the heck out of each other and we got a fantastic match out of it. Incredible way to kick things off in terms of in-ring action.

**********

– After a recap of Charlotte Flair deciding to join the WarGames skirmish on Raw, we saw Flair and Alexa Bliss walking to an unmarked door. The door opened to reveal Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY inside as Bliss left Flair to have a chat with Ripley to work out whatever issues they may have. SKY left soon after as Ripley and Flair stared down one another, presumably getting ready to have that chat.

– Nick Aldis wasn’t able to give an update on Cody Rhodes after what happened as he confronted The Vision about it. Mr. Aldis told Paul Heyman that Drew McIntyre was still persona non grata even after being named to The Vision’s WarGames team. Heyman said that he’d respect Aldis’s request as McIntyre was apparently not at the building after what happened earlier.

– We got more clips of the University of Colorado’s football team as it was mentioned that Bill Goldberg’s son, Gage Goldberg, was a player for the Buffaloes.

– Backstage, Ilja Dragunov was walking, licking his wounds after his U.S. Title match as Tama Tonga silently stared him down before walking off. Tommasso Ciampa then confronted Dragunov and told the champion that he was lucky that he and Johnny Gargano were busy with Fraxiom, because he’d be holding the title instead. Dragunov rebutted by calling Ciampa a “jackass”.

Last Time Is Now Tournament First Round Qualifier: Carmelo Hayes (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Bronson Reed

Michael Cole gave his condolences to legendary commentator Bob Caudle at the start of the match.

In the ring, Reed easily took down Hayes with a fierce running chop, as he continued the attack in the corner. Reed taunted Hayes, followed by another hard running chop and a headbutt on his downed foe. Reed attempted a powerbomb, but Hayes turned that into a powerbomb for a two-count. Hayes maintained the attack with a springboard DDT, followed by a dropkick to the outside. The Vision’s Logan Paul and Bron Breakker ran out from the back as we took a break in the action.

We returned from the break as Reed applied a resthold on Hayes, having gained the upper hand during the commercial break. Hayes fought out of the hold, but got dropped with a back suplex by Reed for the two-count. Reed tried for another back suplex, but Hayes landed on his feet. As Breakker created a distraction, Paul pulled at Hayes’ feet to give his fellow Vision member an assist. Hayes avoided a senton from Reed and rolled him up for the near-fall.

Hayes stunned Reed with a running knee, followed by the flying clothesline. With Reed trapped in between the middle rope, he was blasted by a leg drop by Hayes. A DDT on to the hardest part of the ring by Hayes was followed by a frog splash on the gargantuan Reed for a near-fall. Hayes’ First 48 was countered into a World’s Strongest Slam, followed by the senton. Reed headed up top for the Tsunami, but Hayes rolled out at the last minute to avoid calamity.

Hayes hit Reed with the First 48 as he then leapt at the three members of The Vision at ringside. Back in the ring, Hayes leapt from the top rope and hit a nice DDT, but that wasn’t enough to pick up the victory. Hayes went up top once again, but missed Nothin’ But Net, as he instead was cracked with a hard lariat by Reed.

Outside the ring, Breakker was setting up Hayes for the super spear, but the Usos interrupted and fought with Breakker and Paul. With the referee still distracted, Cody Rhodes emerged from the crowd and hit Reed with a Cross Rhodes that left him out cold. The referee began his count as Reed struggled to get himself back up. Reed was ultimately unable to reach the ring by the count of ten, which gave Hayes the victory.

After the match, Rhodes took the microphone and said that he no longer wants to be done with Drew McIntyre because of what he did. Rhodes called out each member of The Vision, as he then turned his attention to Paul Heyman, stating that he’ll beat his guys (“you build them and I’ll beat them!”) Rhodes then said that WarGames was his birthright and that he’d see Heyman at San Diego.

Carmelo Hayes def. Bronson Reed via countout

This was an good match and a good showing for Hayes. The inevitable WarGames-adjacent events helped keep things exciting, and did their job of setting up Hayes vs. Gunther on Raw this coming Monday.

**********

– Chelsea Green was fretting about her championship celebration, as she confided with Alba Fyre that maybe she shouldn’t be holding this celebration. As Green called herself the “Greatest Women’s Champion Ever”, Jade Cargill confronted her and took exception to that bold claim.

– Sami Zayn was with Rey Fenix, The Motor City Machine Guns, and Shinsuke Nakamura and had remarks ahead of the big five-man elimination tag match against The M.F.T.s next week on SmackDown. Zayn said that his team was an international assembly of the best wrestlers as he put Fenix, the MCMGs, and Nakamura over.

#DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommasso Ciampa) vs. Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom)

Fraxiom started off fast as they stunned both Gargano and Ciampa with their fast-paced tandem offense. At ringside, both #DIY members were left shelled by consecutive dives to the outside by Fraxiom. Back in the ring, Frazer hit a splash on Ciampa, but Gargano broke up the pin as he then took out Axiom of the equation. Gargano was now the legal man and continued the attack on Frazer, who countered a back suplex by landing on his feet. Ciampa pulled Frazer out and threw him against the steps, as he and Gargano did their self-pats on the back. We took a break at this point in time.

The match returned from break as Frazer sped things up as only he could with a running moonsault on Gargano for the near-fall. Frazer made the climb to the top rope with Gargano stunned, but he missed on the splash. This opened him up to a Shatter Machine from #DIY for an incredibly close near-fall. Frazer had his knees clipped by Ciampa, but he was able to make the tag to Axiom. A dive from the top from the masked star was met by a hard knee to the face from Ciampa, as #DIY connected with a nice double team move. Frazer managed to break the pin up with a splash.

On the top rope, Axiom connected with an avalanche Spanish Fly, while Frazer flew from the top to take out Ciampa. In the ensuing fracas, Candice LeRae got on the apron and took off Axiom’s mask, which allowed Gargano to get in a sneaky victory for #DIY.

#DIY def. Fraxiom via pinfall

Some solid tag team action to keep up the excellent in-ring action we’ve had so far tonight. If there’s one good thing about the rumored return to three hours for SmackDown, it should be the added focus on the tag division to fill the time, and they deserve that bigger spotlight.

**********

– We got a video of Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley’s conversation, where it simply boiled down to the two acknowledging that they could trust one another for WarGames.

Last Time Is Now Tournament First Round Qualifier: Finn Balor vs. Penta

Balor tried to attack Penta as he was still posturing in the ring, but was cut off at the pass instead as the match got underway here. Balor attacked Penta in the corner, but was met with a hurricanrana, followed by the elevated dropkick in the corner by the fearless masked man.

Penta slammed Balor with a slingblade, as he hit a nice dive over the top rope on his foe to take us into the commercial break.

After the break, we returned on Penta landing a crossbody on Balor as both men tried to get themselves back up on their feet. Balor got to his feet first and teed away on Penta in the corner with a series of punches. However, Penta started to gained some steam with repeated clotheslines, then the superkick on a prone Balor against the middle turnbuckle. Penta tried to hit the Penta Driver, but Balor turned that into a Final Cut for the two-count.

Balor kicked away at Penta, but got a pair of hard chops for his troubles. Penta then hit a modified Muscle Buster on Balor for the close two. Penta pulled at Balor’s arm with his signature armbreaker, but he got rolled up for the near fall. Balor hit the Slingblade, then the shotgun dropkick, which was the final setup for the Coup de Grace. Penta escaped and connected with a variation on his Penta Driver. One, two…. NO!

Balor pushed Penta into the corner, but he found himself in the crosshairs for the Mexican Destroyer as Penta picked up the victory to advance in the Last Time is Now Tournament.

Penta def. Finn Balor via pinfall

A great match to cap off the in-ring action on tonight’s SmackDown, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the matches on tonight’s show. Penta and Balor work together so well, which made this match a fun one.

**********

– Cole and Graves ran down the remaining spots for the Last Time is Now tournament as they mentioned Sheamus’s shoulder injury, which forced him out of the tournament, revealing that a mystery opponent will face LA Knight in the LTiN quarterfinals in place of the injured Sheamus.

Women’s WarGames Match face off

The team of Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, IYO SKY, and Rhea Ripley were out as a united front ahead of next week’s Survivor Series: WarGames.

Ripley had the microphone first and said that she could hear what the Denver crowd was chanting for. She said at MSG, the Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend didn’t realize how united they were at that moment in time, and when going into war, she wanted to make sure she’d be going to war with the right people. Ripley pointed out her best friend IYO SKY, someone who would keep fighting even if they went down swinging. Ripley then turned her attention to Bliss and Flair, people who weren’t the best of friends with her, but they could trust people. However, that was only four people, as she introduced the fifth member of their WarGames teams: AJ Lee.

As AJ made her entrance, the heel women attacked Rhea’s team in the ring. Becky Lynch ambushed AJ as she was making her way to the ring. The battle was heating up in the ring, as the heel WarGames team had the upper hand in the ensuing skirmish. The Levesque & Fitting producer credits were up as the heel WarGames team stood tall.

**********

Kind of a standard WarGames setup ending for a surprisingly great SmackDown, but I suppose they had to get that out of the way, even if the setup of adding Lynch and AJ into the mix seemed a bit forced. Even with that, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the in-ring action was this week, which carried a lot of the show this week.

The U.S. Open Challenge, as usual, stood out the most, but the other matches on the night were enjoyable in their own right, which helped make this episode a lot better than previous weeks. However, the big downside that does put a damper on things was how the SmackDown women’s division seemed to be sidelined, especially in favor of the WarGames build.

Jade Cargill, the current Women’s Champion, only got a fifteen-second cameo, and the planned Chelsea Green segment (which likely would’ve involved Giulia crashing the party) got bumped off the show altogether. On top of all that, there was no women’s match on the show. That is a huge disappointment and does not shake off the notion of how poorly booked the SmackDown women’s division is as a whole. This is an issue that’s been a nagging one and something that the women’s WarGames build cannot hide.

Logan Paul returns on WWE Raw, sides with top group

Logan Paul has resurfaced.

The former United States Champion made his return on Raw, wanting a shot at CM Punk’s World Heavyweight title. This caused the ire of The Vision, who laid claim to the title. The confrontation ended with a brawl, with Paul being taken out by a Tsunami before Punk chased the heels away with a steel chair. Later in the night, Punk and Jey Uso battled The Vision even after their match ended in a double count out. Paul came out to seemingly return the favor, but instead knocked out Punk with his brass knuckles, handing them to Paul Heyman to end the show.

The opening to Monday’s Raw saw new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk come out and challenge anyone from the back who has earned it to come out and challenge him, mentioning John Cena and Sheamus as potiental opponents. This brought out Paul, who Punk immediately rejected. He told Paul to go to SmackDown and challenge Ilja Dragunov. Paul responded by comparing himself to a Ferrari while he called Punk a used Honda Civic.

The Vision came out and interrupted their argument, with Heyman telling Paul to go to the back of the line because the front belonged to Reed and Breakker. Paul said he was there first. The confrontation eventually got physical with The Vision attacking Punk and shoving down Paul, who reacted by going after Reed and Breakker. Reed proceeded to lay Paul out with a Tsunami. The segment ended once Punk entered the ring with a steel chair, driving The Vision away.

Paul was last seen at WWE Clash in Paris back in August, losing to John Cena. He also wrestled earlier that month, teaming with Drew McIntyre to defeat Randy Orton and Jelly Roll.

WWE Raw live results: Seth Rollins injury fallout

Tonight’s WWE Raw on Netflix from Sacramento, California, will see three title matches in addition to the fallout from last week’s shocking angle involving Seth Rollins.

The two perpetrators — Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker — will appear alongside Paul Heyman to address their attack on their now-former Vision factionmate and what’s next for the group.

The future of Rollins’ World Heavyweight title could also be discussed tonight as well as Rollins’ injury.

Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title against Maxxine Dupri after their recent non-title match Dupri won by countout.

In a rematch from earlier this month, WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio will defend against Rusev.

WWE World Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) defend against AJ Styles & Dragon Lee thanks to the aforementioned Mysterio questioning Raw GM Adam Pearce’s motives.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.

Live from Sacramento, California.

Adam Pearce’s Big Announcement

A recap of last week’s events set up Adam Pearce in the ring to provide a “physical update…” but that’s quickly interrupted by Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman and Bronson Reen entering the arena. Breakker had the WWE World Title belt over his shoulder. Pearce said that Rollins was banged up coming out of the match with Cody Rhodes, but Rollins was put out of action because of what Breakker and Reed did. Pearce stripped Rollins of the world title and announced a battle royal for tonight.

The winner of the battle royal goes on to Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City to face CM Punk for the vacant WWE World Championship. “Bron, I’m gonna need you to hand over that championship.” Breakker balked at the suggestion, but Heyman pulled him aside and seemingly talked some sense into him. Breakker eventually hands the belt over… to Heyman, who handed it over to Pearce.

Pearce left, and Heyman took a mic to explain his actions. Heyman didn’t dump Roman and betray Punk back at WrestleMania just to get to Seth. He did it to get the Vision, the future of WrestleMania Bron Breakker and the new Tribal Thief  Bronson Reed. Seth isn’t the leader of the vision; he’s a “bum shoulder b!tch.”

— The other members of the Judgement Day were agitated with Dominik Mysterio, who last week talked Adam Pearce into a tag team title defense against AJ and Dragon Lee tonight.

WWE World Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day (JD McDonough & Finn Balor) defend against Dragon Lee & AJ Styles

This is the second defense for the champions in 111 days, which Joe Tessitore claimed showed the champions are cowards, but I’d contend is a symptom of PLEs with only five matches on them. McDonough and Balor cut off Lee and worked him over in the their corner. McDonough came off the top with an axe handle. Styles got the tag and tried to run the ropes, but McDonough held them open and Styles tumbled to the floor heading into an ad break.

After the break, Dragon Lee got the tag and suplexed McDonough. Lee went to the top, but McDonough crotched him. McDonough got tied up hanging upside down in the corner, and Lee came off the top with a double stomp. Balor pulled McDonough out of the ring, and Lee followed them both out with a tope con hilo. Back in the ring, Lee went for a powerbomb on McDonough, but McDonough countered into a powerbomb of his own.

Styles and Balor got the tags. Balor caught Styles with a slingblade and dumped Lee. Styles came back with a Phenomenal Forearm, but McDonough broke up the pin attempt. Styles caught McDonough with a Pele kick, but McDonough came back with a Spanish Fly for a near fall. McDonough came off the top with a moonsault, Balor came off the top with the foot stomp, but Lee broke up the cover. Lee took out McDonough with a dive.  Styles blocked a Styles Clash from Balor, countered with a Styles Clash of his own, and Styles got the pinfall to win the tag tiles. New Champs!

Match Result: Dragon Lee & AJ Styles defeated JD McDonough & Finn Balor to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship (13:24)

In the back, Jimmy and Jey Uso made peace with each other ahead of the battle royal tonight.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defends against Rusev

Mysterio caught Rusev with a dive before he could get in the ring, then threw him into the ring steps. But once the match started, it was all Rusev, smashing Mysterio with a clothesline and mauling him with shoulderblocks in the corner. Rusev tried to kick off Mysterio’s new neck tattoo. Mysterio caught Rusev with a boot and came off the middle ropes with a pair of axe handle blows. Mysterio tried to set up for the 619, but Rusev came back with a clothesline that missed, but everyone decided to sell it like it hit anyway. Rusev dumped Mysterio to the floor with a fallaway slam heading into an ad break.

Back in the ring after a 3 minute commercial, Dominik hit a slingshot senton. Dom tried a suplex which Rusev blocked, but Dominik shifted his weight into a DDT for a near fall. Mysterio went to the top for a frog splash, but Rusev got his knees up. Rusev dropped Mysterio with a spinning uranage. Mysterio had enough and tried to leave, but Penta cut him off. Rusev threw Domink into Penta. Penta got in Rusev’s face, so Rusev knocked him out.

Back in the ring, Dominik went for the 619, but Rusev blocked it… and found the timekeeper’s bell in Mysterio’s boot. Rusev was going to use the hammer on Dom, but the ref grabbed the hammer away. As the ref and Rusev argued about the bell hammer, Mysterio kicked Rusev low, hit the 619 and then a frog splash to get the pinfall.

After the match, Penta hit Rusev with a springboard DDT.

Match Result: WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defeated Rusev to retain (9:20)

— UFC greats Max Griffin and Nate Diaz were shown in the crowd.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch defends against Maxxine Dupri

This is Becky’s 7th defense in 134 days. Dupri is from Sacramento, so she got a great reaction upon being announced.

Lynch mauled Dupri in the corner with forearms and shoulderblocks. Lynch went for the uranage, but Dupri countered with a rollup for a near fall. Lynch came back and dumped Dupri to the floor.

After a commercial, Dupri was still on the floor, struggling to get back in the ring. When she did, she caught Becky with a cradle, and countered another attempt at the uranage with a jawbreaker. Dupri hit a pair of flying clotheslines and a set up legdrop for a near fall. Dupri pulled down her straps and hit a running knee for a near fall. Boo/Yay punches, but Lynch got the advantage.

Dupri again escaped the uranage and caught Lynch with a kick, then locked in an ankle lock. Lynch kicked out the ankle lock, and went for an armbar. Dupri reversed the armbar back into the anklelock. Dupri came off the top with a crossbody for two, and Lynch rolled to the floor.  Lynch tried to leave with her belt, but Dupri brought her back to the ring. Lynch finally had enough and hit Dupri with the IC title belt, drawing the disqualification. Becky retained her championship.

After the match, Lynch drove a knee into Lynch’s face in the corner, then finally put her down with the uranage.

Match Result: Maxxine Dupri defeated WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch by disqualification (9:43)

Stephanie Vaquer came out to the ring for her match.

— At some point earlier in the night, a graphic displayed all the participants in the battle royal and included Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. But, Adam Pearce informed Paul Heyman that he’d had a new graphing made because Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker were out of the battle royal. Heyman was then was confronted by Becky Lynch. Just because Seth Rollins didn’t survive the day last week, there is still room for Becky Lynch in the Vision. Becky turns him down, then tried to spin it that Seth knew Heyman was going to turn on him. When Seth returns, he’ll take his aggressions out on whatever “nepo-baby” Heyman has attached himself to.

WWE World Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends against Roxanne Perez (w/ Raquel Rodriguez)

Vaquer tried for a package piledriver, but Perez escaped and dropped to the floor to regroup. Back in the ring, Vaquer tried for a cradle and got caught with a slap from Perez. Vaquer went for the Devil’s Kiss, but Perez escaped. Behind the ref’s back, Raquel Rodriguez caught Vaquer with a right hand.

After a break, Vaquer hit a suplex. Vaquer hit a meteoria in the corner, then took Perez out of the corner with a dragon screw leg whip. Vaquer got the Devil’s Kiss, but Vaquer was selling her left wrist was bothering her. Perez then attacked the wrist. Rodriguez distracted Vaquer on the apron, and then Perez snapped Vaquer’s arm against the ropes. Vaquer caught both Perez and Rodriguez with crossbody off the top to the floor.  Back in the ring, Vaquer hit the Angel’s Wings at got the pinfall.

Perez and Rodriguez attacked Vaquer after the match, but Nikki Bella ran in for the save. Vaquer tried to springboard back into the ring, but slipped and hurt her leg. Eventually Bella and Vaquer stood tall, double-dropkicking Perez out of the ring. This was kind of a mess.

Match Result: WWE World Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated Roxanne Perez to retain (11:58)

— Lyra Valkyra and Bayley have a moment in the back, and Bayley has a surprise for Lyra next week.

— Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker need an explanation for why they’re not going to be in the battle royal tonight from Paul Heyman, who explains that Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns are all memorable thanks to him. This somehow satisfied them.

— Nikki Bella and Stephanie Vaquer have a moment in the locker rooms and agree to have each other’s back.

Battle royal for WWE World Heavyweight title shot at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Just when it looked like things would get underway, CM Punk came out to join the color commentary team.

Otis and Rusev had a standoff after a hot start for Otis, but Rusev eliminated him. Rusev booted Tozawa and tossed him, too. Dragon Lee went for a springboard but McDonough and Balor caught him and sent him to the floor. Penta and Rusev brawled on the apron, and Dominik Mysterio shoved them both to the floor.

After a commercial, Ivar was squashing Jimmy Uso and AJ Styles in the corner. Sheamus and Ivar had a confrontation mid ring. They battled onto the ring apron, and Sheamus gave Ivar White Noise on the apron to eliminate him. El Grande Americano  loaded up his mask, but the Usos gave him a 1D and tossed him. Sheamus tried to eliminate Mysterio, but Balor and McDonough saved him. Sheamus eliminated McDonough and Balor. They then helped Kofi Kingston eliminate Sheamus from the floor. Sheamus brawled with McDonough and Balor, and the officials missed Styles toss Mysterio trying to braek that up. So Mysterio got back into the ring and was able to conitune in the match.

After another break, we’re left with AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston, LA Knight, Dominik Mysterio and The Usos. Kingston monkey-flipped Syles across the ring. Styles dumped Kingston on the ropes (Kingston may have hurt his wrist) and hit him with a forearm to eliminate him. Knight blocked a Styles Clash from Lee. Jey Uso and Knight did “Yeet/Yeah” punches, with Jey Uso dangling from the apron, until Jimmy made the save with a superkick. This was the second time Jimmy saved Jey in the match.

AJ went for a springboard on the Usos, but they super kicked and eliminated him. Jimmy and LA Knight battled against the ropes, and Jey Uso DUMPED BOTH KNIGHT AND HIS BROTHER JIMMY.  Jimmy was upset; he thought they were looking out for each other! Jey then tossed Dominik for the win. Jimmy was irate, but the fans were still behind Jey because it’s anything goes in a battle royal.

After the match, CM Punk stood in the ring with Jey Uso and that’s the main event for Saturday Night’s Main Event for the vacant World Title.

Feels like they should just put the belt on Bron Breakker and let him run roughshod over everyone.

Match Result: Jey Uso won a battle royal to face CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (18:28)
