Nikki Cross announced for first match since WWE release

Nikki Cross will step back into the ring for her first match since being released by WWE. It will take place in July with details about her opponent unannounced.

PROGRESS Wrestling officially announced that Cross will compete at Chapter 196: Scorchio on July 26. Her opponent has not yet been announced.

“Nikki Storm (formerly Nikki Cross) will be competing at Chapter 196: Scorchio on Sunday 26th July! We are delighted to have Nikki wrestling and we will be announcing her opponent soon @EBallroomCamden,” tweeted PROGRESS Wrestling.

Cross was released along with the other members of the Wyatt Sicks in April. Not too long after she filed to trademark ‘Nikki Storm’ and ‘Best in the Galaxy’.

Cross signed with WWE in 2016 and was notably a part of Sanity on NXT. In 2024, she joined Wyatt Sicks as Abby The Witch, a character from Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse.

Her last WWE match was on the September 9, 2024 edition of Raw in a mixed street fight featuring Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan and Joe Gacy against The Creed Brothers, Chad Gable and Ivy Nile.

Reason for Aleister Black, Wyatt Sicks WWE releases revealed | Exclusive

An update is available regarding what led to several recent WWE departures.

Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, and The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan) were all part of WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts revealed earlier this month.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that WWE felt they had “got all they were going to get” from the Wyatts and didn’t have much in the way of ideas for Black or Vega.

Meltzer wrote:

“It was just felt that the group had run its course. Even at first there were those who saw it as a short-term idea. It was basically a tribute to Bray Wyatt and was over big at first but it was limiting how they could be used with that gimmick over the long haul.”

Meltzer later added:

“The feeling was they got all out of the Wyatts they were going to get and Black and Vega was just a decision made on who they weren’t going to do anything more with. The reality is that even though they recruited Black hard to get out of AEW, once he returned, they really didn’t have much in the way of ideas for him.”

Regarding rumors that WWE made the releases due to TKO not wanting “darker” characters on WWE programming, Meltzer wrote:

“Regarding the story that the Wyatts and Black were released because TKO didn’t like dark characters, we were told that was ‘bullshit’ and that these were not decisions that even reached that level.”

Meltzer later wrote that AEW had reached out to Zelina Vega the last time WWE had let her go, which was in November 2020, but she “ghosted” the company.

Meltzer continued, “(Tony Khan) did negotiate with Zelina when she was let go the last time, but she pretty much ghosted him and signed back.”

Wyatt Sicks release ends chapter of Bray Wyatt’s legacy, but not the book | Column

Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Erik Rowan, and Bo Dallas (The Wyatt Sicks) were part of the post-WrestleMania 42 WWE roster cuts on Friday, closing a chapter in Bray Wyatt’s legacy, but definitely not ending the book.

If anything, Wyatt’s influence in wrestling may prove to be an ongoing series rather than a completed volume.

Bray wasn’t the kind of wrestler that gets over with hardcore fans who watch a lot of wrestling and generally tend to prefer in-ring work over creative characters. He wasn’t the kind of wrestler who was putting on five-star bangers, but to a segment of the audience, he was special.

Specifically, his Firefly Funhouse character and The Fiend really landed with a segment of the audience.

Popularity of Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse, Fiend, and White Rabbit campaign

Dave Meltzer reported in late 2019 that Wyatt had surpassed everyone on the WWE roster to become the company’s top merchandise seller following seven months of Firefly Funhouse segments and The Fiend being presented as an unstoppable force. During that period, WWE also released a Firefly Funhouse playset on WWEShop.com priced at $99.99 that reportedly sold out instantly.

They also marketed a custom Fiend championship belt that retailed for $6,499.99.

Then when Wyatt returned in 2022 with the mysterious White Rabbit campaign and QR codes that led fans to hidden clues and riddles, the Wyatt effect was felt again. PWInsider reported Wyatt’s return generated 1.86 million YouTube views across WWE videos, 1.2 million Twitter views, 437,045 Instagram likes, around 500,000 Facebook views, and 73,000 TikTok views.

However, the audience segment that loved Bray and was willing to pay high prices for his merchandise didn’t get into the Wyatt Sicks the way they did the Firefly Funhouse or Fiend, although I’m not sure the group was ever given the same opportunity to get over.

Wyatt Sicks debut created immediate buzz

The Wyatt Sicks made quite an impression with their debut on the June 17, 2024 episode of Raw as live-action versions of Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse characters.

The closing segment of that show featured what many viewers interpreted as a mass casualty incident, with Chad Gable and others shown motionless backstage.

The debut created the same buzz that Bray did, but lengthy absences and a lack of clear direction dictated the story of the group’s run afterward.

For the remainder of 2024, the Wyatts feuded with American Made and then Karrion Kross and his Final Testament stable. An injury to Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy then took the group off television until May 2025.

Last summer, the Wyatts won the tag titles from the Street Profits and sat atop the division for the remainder of the year, eventually entering what would be their final storyline in WWE against The MFTs.

The group never returned to the buzzworthy status they had after the June 17 debut and didn’t capture that same segment of the audience that Bray had.

This is not to say the run was a failure, however. While it didn’t get over enough to last, it was something needed for the segment of the audience that was impacted the most by Wyatt’s death.

For those fans that scrounged up all their money to buy the Firefly Funhouse set, or a Fiend mask or title, Wyatt’s death at 36 years of age hurt, and probably still hurts. While those fans didn’t know Bray, they connected to his art. Seeing that art continue on WWE programming for two years after his death was likely comforting to those fans.

The Wyatt Sicks release is not the end of Bray Wyatt’s influence in wrestling

I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of Bo Dallas in wrestling, or others from the group. Also, Alexa Bliss carried on Bray Wyatt’s legacy at WrestleMania this year, wearing several Wyatt-inspired items as part of her ring gear.

We will see some of those fans who were so invested in the Firefly Funhouse begin their own wrestling careers. Those same fans may have gravitated to Jake Roberts in the 80s, or Raven in the 90s, but for their generation, Wyatt was their guy. Their favorite. And they’ll bring parts of him back. It’s actually already started.

Brodie Lee Jr. vs. Joey Janela

If you’re a wrestling fan who hasn’t seen Brodie Lee Jr. vs. Joey Janela from Spring Break this year, stop what you are doing, order the show on Triller, and watch it.

Brodie Lee/Jon Huber/Luke Harper’s role in the Wyatt Family is an important part of this story. Lee’s own story branched away from Wyatt’s when he went to AEW and has its own tale of tragedy and influence. Both the Wyatt and Brodie Lee stories were part of the Janela vs. Brodie Lee Jr. match, and it was beautiful.

The tributes that the 14-year-old son of Brodie Sr. did for both his late father and for Wyatt were a work of art. Whoever put that match together needs to get some type of award. It was proof that Wyatt and Lee’s legacy will live on through their influence in wrestling.

You’re never truly gone until you are forgotten, and the next generation of wrestlers are not going to let that happen for either Wyatt or Brodie.

Andre the Giant battle royal, MFTs vs. Wyatt Sicks set for next WWE SmackDown

Two big matches are set for the final SmackDown before WrestleMania.

WWE confirmed on Friday that the Andre the Giant battle royal will take place just 24 hours before WrestleMania Saturday. The annual tradition, which in recent years has moved to SmackDown, usually consists of those not on the WrestleMania card. The winner recieves a trophy bearing the likeness of the legendary WWE Hall of Famer. Last year’s match was won by Carmelo Hayes, who finds himself off WrestleMania for a second year in a row.

Also set for next Friday is an eight-man tag pitting the Wyatt Sicks against the MFTs, who have been feuding for the last several months over Bray Wyatt’s lantern. Tama Tonga, who eventually had enough of Solo Siokoa’s obsession over the lantern, recently gave it back to the Wyatts.

It was stressed that stars from both Raw and SmackDown would be on Friday’s show, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena.

WWE SmackDown (April 17)

  • Andre the Giant battle royal
  • MFTs vs. Wyatt Sicks eight-man tag
  • Raw & SmackDown stars will appear

New Tag Team Champions crowned on WWE SmackDown

Damian Priest & R-Truth are the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

The unlikely duo won the titles on Friday thanks to copious interference between the Wyatt Sicks and the MFTs, who continue to feud over Bray Wyatt’s lantern. The finish of the match had the MFTs brawl with the Wyatts backstage as Uncle Howdy went to attack Solo Sikoa. JC Mateo broke up the brawl but walked into R-Truth’s side kick and was pinned soon after with the AA.

Truth & Priest’s title victory is their first as a team. This would be Priest’s third reign with the title while this is the first time Truth has held the WWE Tag Team title.

The duo became number one contenders two weeks ago when Priest found out that Truth put them in a gauntlet match to determine the MFTs next challengers. Although Los Garza dominated that match, Priest and R-Truth came out last and emerged as the winners. When the two teams bickered on last week’s show, they faced off in a match that saw Priest & Truth pick up the victory.

WWE Women’s Tag Team title match added to SmackDown lineup

WWE announced two new matches for the Friday, March 13 edition of WWE SmackDown.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend will defend their titles against Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair on the show.

Also added to the lineup, Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga will face Uncle Howdy and Erick Rowan.

Already announced for Friday’s show are a MizTV segment with Jelly Roll, Jade Cargill vs. Michin, and a contract signing for Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Tonight’s show is set for the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The updated lineup is below:

WWE SmackDown (March 13, 2026):

  • Contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton for their WrestleMania 42 title match
  • Nia Jax & Lash Legend (The Irresistible Forces) defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair
  • Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga vs. Uncle Howdy & Erick Rowan
  • Jade Cargill vs. Michin
  • Miz TV returns with Jelly Roll as a special guest

WWE Tag Team title match set for next week’s SmackDown

A match for the WWE Tag Team titles is set for next week’s SmackDown in Montreal.

The Wyatt Sicks and The MFTs will meet once more for the WWE Tag Team titles. A video aired on Friday with Solo Sikoa saying if the Wyatts wanted their lantern back, they would have to agree to a WWE Tag Team title match. After Sikoa failed to defeat Damian Priest later in the show, Uncle Howdy attempted to take the lantern back but was attacked by Talla Tonga, keeping control of the lantern with the MFTs.

Meanwhile, a number one contender’s match will take place for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will take on Giulia & Kiana James and Nia Jax & Lash Legend. Whoever wins will earn a future title match against current champions Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.

Damian Priest will face Trick Williams one day before Saturday Night’s Main Event, where they are both in a number one contender’s match for the WWE Championship. The two traded words backstage following their victories on SmackDown, with Priest saying he’ll be whooping that Trick.

Johnny Gargano and Nathan Frazer will meet after Gargano jumped Frazer backstage on last week’s SmackDown. This week’s show had Frazer jumping Gargano as Axiom distracted him.

WWE SmackDown (January 23, 2026)

  • WWE Tag Team title match: The Wyatt Sicks defend against The MFTs
  • Number one contendership for Women’s Tag Team titles: Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs. Giulia & Kiana James vs. Nia Jax & Lash Legend
  • Nathan Frazer vs. Johnny Gargano
  • Damian Priest vs. Trick Williams

WWE SmackDown live results: Tag Team titles on the line

As we head deeper into the holiday season, WWE presents a pre-taped edition of SmackDown tonight.

Cody Rhodes’ dream match at Saturday Night’s Main Event against Oba Femi was ruined when Drew McIntyre attacked him for the disqualification. In retaliation, Rhodes invaded McIntyre’s home that weekend to brawl with him.

On tonight’s show, the WWE Champion returns with a lot to talk about.

The WWE Tag Team titles will be on the line tonight as Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis of The Wyatt Sicks defend against two members of The MFTs.

In non-title action, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) will battle Lash Legend & Nia Jax, who are looking to earn a shot at the belts.

WWE United States Champion Ilja Dragunov teams up with Carmelo Hayes against #DIY.

The announced card is rounded out by Giulia vs. Alba Fyre.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

– Previously in WWE: It was John Cena’s last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He tapped and he retired. After that recap, we went to Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett at commentary (as this episode of SmackDown was taped earlier this week), who talked about Cody Rhodes’ home invasion attack against Drew McIntyre. We then saw shots of Rhodes himself, and then the M.F.T.s arriving to the arena.

Damian Priest kicks off SmackDown

Fresh off a mixed-tag match victory on last week’s episode against Aleister Black & Zelina, Damian Priest arrived to SmackDown and had some words to say following that huge win.

Priest thanked the Hershey, PA fans for their energy because it has been a tough few days thanks to John Cena’s retirement. Priest praised Cena for being the Greatest of All Time, as he said “Thank you, Cena”. He then said it was time to talk about some good times, namely when Aleister and Zelina got their “asses dropped” by the Terror Twins. Before Priest could continue with talking about his 2026 plans, Zelina interrupted him.

Zelina said that Priest was a hypocrite and that he shouldn’t be celebrating because he didn’t get the pin. She noted that Black broke Priest, and that he had to live with the decision that Black had made. As Black’s theme played, he snuck up in the ring to attack Priest from behind. The brawl broke out between the two in the ring as the action spilled into ringside. Priest dropped Black on the apron with a modified South of Heaven chokeslam before he pulled out the Slim Jim-branded table from underneath the ring. Meanwhile, Black recovered and hit Priest with a chair in the chest. The two continued to fight until Black hit a diving Meteora from the apron through the table.

I’m just going to get out front here and say that the idea of Priest vs. Black continuing on longer does not move me in the slightest. That this feud, like the Energizer Bunny, just keeps going and going (and has been since July) is not something I want to see every week. Without a doubt, one of the reasons why SmackDown is languishing in terms of engaging stories.

**********

– Backstage, Byron Saxton was with Lash Legend & Nia Jax for remarks about Legend’s win over Alexa Bliss. The two noted that it was not an upset as Legend dominated her foe last week.

– Elsewhere, as Damian Priest was being helped by a litany of referees, Aleister Black attacked and continued his assault, ending with a Black Mass kick.

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) vs. Lash Legend & Nia Jax

Sane and Legend started off for their respective teams. Sane tried to get a sleeper hold on Legend, but got shoved into the corner instead. She avoided a pump kick from Legend as she then climbed to the top rope. Sane leapt, but got caught by Legend instead. Sane got out of her predicament with a hurricanrana, but Legend responded with a fierce running elbow as she tagged Jax in.

The two crushed Sane in their corner as Jax got the pin, but no three. Sane managed to tag in Asuka as the Women’s Tag Champs used teamwork to keep Jax grounded momentarily. Jax created some space with a pop-up spinebuster. However, she found herself on the backfoot with a double dropkick from the Kabuki Warriors. Legend also got sent to the outside, which gave Sane time to launch herself from the top rope and onto both Legend and Jax at ringside, which took us to the commercial break point.

We returned from break with Jax working over Sane in the corner as we saw a replay of Legend hitting a pump kick on Sane during the break. Back to the match, Legend applied a resthold on Sane for a bit until she slammed her foe down by the head. Jax was tagged in as she knocked Asuka off the apron. Jax and Legend tried to go for a double suplex, but Sane turned that into a double DDT, which gave her enough time to finally tag Asuka in.

Asuka got on the top rope and hit a double missile dropkick on Jax and Legend. A little bit of friendly fire as Asuka avoided Legend’s running attack, which sent her into Jax instead. Asuka then locked in the armbar on Jax, who used her power to escape out of it. Asuka connected with a Shining Wizard, but Legend broke it up. Things began to break down as all four women were in the ring as Asuka headed up top. Legend pulled at Asuka’s leg, which allowed Jax to head up top for an attempted avalanche Samoan drop. Legend pulled Asuka out of the ring and threw her into the steel steps. Sane took Legend out of the equation with a divking knee. However, Jax recovered and knocked Sane out, which let her get the victory with the Annihilator.

Jax and Legend didn’t get time to celebrate their win as Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss ran down to start a fight with them. The former Women’s Tag Champs got the best of Jax and Legend in the melee.

Lash Legend & Nia Jax def. The Kabuki Warriors via pinfall

A decent tag match, and I do think the women’s tag scene is heating up, so not much in the way of complaints as far as this match is concerned.

– Jackie Redmond was set to interview Giulia, but was told by her representative Kiana James to address her properly before she could do so. Once she did, Giuia said that she was going to make sure that Alba Fyre would be left saying arrivederci.

Cody Rhodes attacks Drew McIntyre at home

We got footage of Nick Aldis & Drew McIntyre’s meeting over the weekend. This meeting had Aldis & McIntyre agree on terms for an Undisputed WWE Championship match, where McIntyre gets to pick a stipulation, and an agreement that Cody Rhodes cannot attack McIntyre before that match or he will be stripped of the Undisputed WWE Title.

Afterwards, Rhodes appeared at the driveway of McIntyre’s house and proceeded to fight him as police tried to separate the two. Rhodes shouted “Merry Christmas, asshole!” at McIntyre while the two were being separated.

– Mr. Aldis addressed the situation, where he was placed in a tough situation due to everything surrounding Rhodes & McIntyre, which has created a lot of legal headaches due to the personal situation. The Miz appeared and demanded a match against Joe Hendry (referrring to him as “He Who Shall Not Be Named”) next week, to which Aldis agreed to. R-Truth then imitated Hendry, misnaming him as “Joe Pesci”.

Giulia (w/ Kiana James) vs. Alba Fyre (w/ Chelsea Green)

Giulia didn’t waste time as she came right at Fyre with a tackle, followed by strikes to the face. Giulia had Fyre in the corner and punched away at her, as she taunted Chelsea Green on the outside. Giulia maintained advantage with an attempted surfboard, but Green’s distraction allowed Fyre to avoid that fate.

Fyre took over with a tornado DDT for the near-fall. Giulia recovered and pulled at Fyre by her hair to slam her down on the canvas a couple of times. Fyre found herself trapped in an octopus stretch, but escaped as she and Giulia rolled around the ring to get a pinfall attempt in. Fyre kicked Giulia in the face, but could not put her away.

In the end, Giulia caught Fyre with the Arrivederci Knee and ended it in short order with the Northern Lights Driver.

Giulia def. Alba Fyre via pinfall

Not sure if a heel vs. heel match was the right call here, but seems like the crowd was a bit muted for this match, and honestly, with the way Giulia has been booked post-NXT, I can’t say I blame them.

– The Wyatt Sicks addressed Solo Sikoa via their videos. They said that Sikoa’s greed has let him down to a dark path, and this image he portrays will drive him into a new world filled with adversity and abandonment.

Cody Rhodes addresses the Drew McIntyre situation

The Undisputed WWE World Champion made his way down to the ring and got ready to talk about what was on his mind, but not before asking what the Hershey crowd wanted to talk about.

Rhodes started that yes, he did go to Drew McIntyre’s house and throw a few cops in the water, but McIntyre did state that in his eyes “WWE was an unsafe working environment”. Rhodes said that McIntyre was surrounded by MMA fighters, second-generation wrestlers NIL standouts, and asked if Staples would be a safe work environment for McIntyre. Before Rhodes could continue, the SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis, interrupted.

Aldis said that because of Rhodes going to McIntyre’s house, he was forced into a bad situation, and that Rhodes was not “above the law”. Aldis said that Rhodes should’ve trusted him and now as a result of the situation, once McIntyre returns to issue his public apology, Rhodes cannot physically touch McIntyre. Otherwise, he’d be stripped of the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Rhodes responded that Aldis should know who he’s talking to, as Wade Barrett and Marty the cameraman could. Rhodes then listed off his accomplishments, as he declared himself “QB1”, and “the law” around these parts. Rhodes said that he didn’t work for Mr. Aldis, but he worked for the fans, and that Mr. Aldis “worked” for him.

What interested me about this Cody segment was the rather boastful tone he took there near the end of it. Whether that gets paid off as a road to a potential heel turn down the line is anyone’s guess, but still something interesting to think about.

– Carmelo Hayes & Ilja Dragunov discussed their upcoming tag match against #DIY. Fraxiom approached the two and declared that if Hayes and Dragunov missed, they’d be there to go after Gargano & Ciampa. In the background, Tama Tonga was seen scheming.

Ilja Dragunov & Carmelo Hayes vs. #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) (w/ Candice LeRae)

Gargano & Ciampa went after Hayes and Dragunov immediately, but found themselvse being shelled by the double team. Dragunov and Hayes blasted Ciampa with consecutive running boots in the corner before things settled down in the ring.

Dragunov chopped down Ciampa and then dragged him to his corner as Hayes tagged in. With Ciampa down on his back, he got hit with a running leg drop from Hayes before Dragunov re-entered the match. The U.S. Champion stunned Ciampa with a suplex as he headed up top. Candice LeRae got on the apron to distract the referee, as Gargano pulled Dragunov down. This allowed Ciampa to crack his foe with a running knee, which sent Dragunov flying into the commentary table. #DIY surveyed the damage from the apron as we took a break in the action.

Back from commercial, as Ciampa and Dragunov exchanged strikes in the ring. After Ciampa got dropped, Dragunov connected with the Constantine Special on Gargano. This allowed Hayes to enter the match as the hot tag. Like a house of fire, Hayes dropped Gargano with a springboard clothesline. He then followed that up with a nice rendition of Mistico’s La Mistica finishing move for the near-fall. After Hayes tagged in Dragunov, he leapt over the top rope with a pitch-perfect Fosbury Flop on Ciampa. Back in the ring, Dragunov landed the senton on Gargano, but that wasn’t enough to end the match.

As Hayes tagged himself in, #DIY regained momentum with a superkick from Gargano, followed by Project Ciampa by its namesake. Dragunov broke up the pin, but was thrown into the ringpost at ringside by Gargano. In the ring, Hayes tried to springboard again, but Ciampa caused a distraction, which allowed LeRae to interfere. However, Hayes kicked out of Ciampa’s knee to the face. #DIY teamed up with the Fairytale Ending and superkick on Hayes, but again, Hayes kicked out at two.

Gargano & Ciampa were in opposite corners and had Hayes in position for a Meet in the Middle, but Gargano was blasted by Dragunov’s Torpedo Moscow as Hayes connected with First 48 on Ciampa. With Ciampa left alone, Dragunov got him with the H-Bomb, and Hayes finally finished it off with Nothin’ But Net for the win.

Carmelo Hayes & Ilja Dragunov def. #DIY via pinfall

This was entertaining, and as I said before, I find the U.S.Title scene to be quite enjoyable and often the highlight of SmackDown. Even without an Open Challenge match this week, I loved this here and seeing Melo start to win over the crowd is a nice bonus, too.

**********

– Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss were asked about why they attacked Lash Legend & Nia Jax. The two said that Jax and Legend were in their way as they called their shot for the Women’s Tag Titles. WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill then appeared and had a brief staredown with Flair & Bliss. Interviewer Jackie Redmon then tried to get a word with Cargill about why she attacked Michin. Cargill said that since it was the season of giving, she was going to give Michin a bit of credit for getting back up, and that she’ll give her a spotlight soon enough. But, Cargill promised to knock Michin’s lights out once that was done. Michin appeared from behind and struck Cargill with a kendo stick.

Next Week on SmackDown (12/26/25)

  • Ilja Dragunov’s U.S. Title Open Challenge
  • The Miz vs. Joe Hendry
  • Drew McIntyre returns

WWE Tag Team Championship: The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) (w/ Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan) vs. The M.F.T.s (J.C. Mateo & Tonga Loa) (w/ Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Talla Tonga)

As Solo Sikoa walked to the Gorilla Position, he said that the fireflies were going to bear witness to the M.F.T.s winning the WWE Tag Titles as he had the whole world in his hands, again invoking Bray Wyatt.

Lumis got ahead on Loa by sliding underneath him, then hitting two uppercuts on him. Lumis connected with a back suplex, followed by a leg drop on Loa for an early pin attempt. Gacy was tagged in, but Loa recovered and managed to catch him by surprise with stomps in the corner. Mateo entered the match and continued the punishment on Gacy. However, that M.F.T. advantage was temporary as Gacy delivered a dropkick on Mateo. Lumis tagged in and hit a nice double team move on Mateo, who rolled out of the ring for a breather.

Gacy tagged in again and looked like he was about to launch himself over the top rope, but Loa got out of the way. Mateo then barreled into Gacy with a hard clothesline, as he then caught Lumis and slammed him against the ringpost, followed by a slam on the floor. This took us into the break.

The SmackDown main event continued from commercial with the M.F.T.s in firm control as they isolated Lumis in their corner. Mateo flattened Lumis with a powerslam for the near-fall as Loa got tagged in and landed a powerslam of his own. Lumis woke up and hit a superkick on Loa as Mateo tried to stop the hot tag. He, too, got superkicked by Lumis as Gacy got the hot tag.

Gacy hit a suplex on Mateo as he knocked Loa off the apron. He then slammed Mateo with a stalling Saito suplex, but he missed with a springboard dive, which opened him up for a spinning side suplex. One, two, not quite. Gacy rebounded off the rope with his handstand clothesline on Mateo, as Loa also found himself a victim of this unique move afterwards. With both M.F.T. members outside the ring, Gacy launched into them with a top rope dive.

The Wyatt Sicks hit a double team suplex/powerbomb combo as Lumis headed up top for a high-risk maneuver. The spalsh from Lumis as Loa broke up the pin. Outside the ring, Talla Tonga kicked Gacy with the referee’s back turned. Erick Rowan then attacked Talla and things broke down into a massive brawl between the Wyatt Sicks and the M.F.T.s at ringside, which forced the referee to throw out the match.

In the ring, Gacy and Lumis were held up by Mateo, Loa, and Tama as Talla launched himsellf off the top rope onto everyone. Rowan then took Talla out with a dropkick and a clothesline. Nikki Cross wanted herself some too, and Rowan obliged as he threw her onto Talla at ringside. Solo Sikoa snuck up on Rowan and dropped him with a Samoan Spike. As Sikoa bragged, he was in position for Uncle Howdy’s Sister Abigail, but Tama jumped him. The brawl continued unabated as the Levesque & Fitting producer credits were up to end this show.

The Wyatt Sicks vs. The M.F.T.s. ended in a No Contest

**********

You’re probably all aware about my feelings on this feud, and this main event was just average. The brawl was a least bit interesting, but still, not really a good way to end another just decent episode of SmackDown.

This week, the show wasn’t really terrible, just kind of there, which has been a nagging problem for the blue show as of late. There are peaks — the U.S. Title situation being the most notable — but the valleys are many and the show does suffer in quality as a result.

Wyatt Sicks issue WWE Tag Team title challenge

The feud between the Wyatt Sicks and the MFTs could soon end up in a WWE Tag Team title match.

The Wyatt Sicks issued a challenge to the MFTs on Friday’s WWE SmackDown for a Tag Team title bout, although no date for the match has been announced.

The SmackDown segment featured Uncle Howdy speaking on behalf of the current WWE Tag Team Champions Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy, while Solo Sikoa spoke on behalf of the MFTs. Any combination of Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga could end up challenging for the Tag Team titles.

Lumis and Gacy won the WWE Tag Team Championship on the July 11 SmackDown. The duo have not defended the titles since the October 10 SmackDown in Perth, Australia.

Our full report from Friday’s SmackDown featuring the final build to John Cena’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event is available here.

AAA Heroes Inmortales notes: Hijo del Vikingo, El Grande Americano, Wyatt Sicks

News and notes from AAA Heroes Inmortales.

The main event of Saturday’s show in Mexico City saw Dominik Mysterio successfully defend the AAA Mega Championship against Dragon Lee. Although Lee put up a hell of a fight, he couldn’t overcome Mysterio’s cleverness. After a ref bump, Mysterio grabbed his boot that Lee took off and smashed him in the head. Mysterio then followed with a frog splash for the victory.

After the match, Hijo del Vikingo came out and attacked Mysterio, bitter over his recent title loss. However, El Grande Americano came out to even the odds, once again helping Mysterio. A match was then set up for AAA’s television taping on November 22, where Americano and Mysterio will team up to take on Lee and Vikingo.

The show started off with Vikingo coming out, acting more heelish than on recent shows. He got into a confrontation with Americano, saying neither he or Mysterio are really Mexican, and called himself the Canelo of AAA. Americano responded by saying that the only similarity between the two is that both lost in Las Vegas. The two eventually set up a match for the November 28 taping in Puebla, Vikingo’s hometown.

Later backstage, Vikingo ran into Dorian Roldan, who told Vikingo that they have a lot in common.

The Wyatt Sicks made another appearance in AAA, again singling out the AAA Tag Team Champions Psycho Clown and Pagano. After the champions defeated Sanson and Forastero in a street fight, the Wyatt chair appeared. All of the Wyatt Sicks minus Uncle Howdy appeared, laying out Psycho and Pagano. Rowan held up the AAA Tag Team titles after the beatdown, but it remains unclear when they’ll be challenging for the titles.

WWE x AAA Worlds Collide notes: Xavier Woods, Reina de Reinas contender, Wyatt Sicks

Notes from Friday night’s World’s Collide event in Las Vegas.

In a backstage interview, it was revealed that Grayson Waller would be teaming with Kofi Kingston in the advertised New Day/Psycho Clown & Vikingo match for the AAA Tag Team titles. Xavier Woods revealed that he had surgery earlier in the week and as a result, was unable to wrestle.

Later, Woods wrote in character that the surgery was to remove a lipoma from the back of his head as a result of Penta giving him a Mexican destroyer. A recent storyline on Raw is The New Day attempting to ban the destroyer, which is a signature move of Penta’s.

After Psycho Clown and Pagano retained the titles, they were set to be interviewed when the lights went out. The Wyatt Sicks then made their surprise entrance, where they went to the ring and laid out both men in a 5 on 2 assault, attacking them with stairs and putting them through tables. The segment ended with the group holding the AAA Tag Team titles, indicating they wanted the next shot.

A new number one contender was also crowned for the AAA Reina de Reinas title. Natalya proved victorious, pinning Faby Apache as they were trading pin attempts. Natalya came to the ring portraying her “low-key legend’ character that has been seen in places like the NWA and Bloodspoort.

After the match, the two continued to fight with the announcers saying their feud is far from over. Natalya has now earned a future match against champion Flammer.

Tag Team title match official for WWE Clash in Paris

The following are spoilers for tonight’s WWE SmackDown, currently airing live on Netflix and at 8 PM on USA in the U.S.

The next challengers to WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks were made on Friday’s WWE SmackDown as The Street Profits are up next.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins picked up the win over Melo Don’t Miz in Lyon, France, with the title match now official for Sunday’s Clash in Paris premium live event.

The end came when Ford and Dawkins hit The Revelation on Carmelo Hayes to pick up the win after The Miz was distracted by the Sicks who came out to intimidate him.

Ford and Dawkins are looking for their third Tag Team title reign and first since this past July when they lost the titles to Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis. Gacy and Lumis have two title defenses since that win.

WWE Clash in Paris lineup | August 31, 2025:

  • WWE World Champion Seth Rollins defends against Jey Uso, LA Knight and CM Punk
  • John Cena vs. Logan Paul
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed
  • Good ‘Ol Fashioned Donnybrook match: Sheamus vs. Rusev

  • WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) defend against The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)

Alexa Bliss: Joining Wyatt Sicks would be ‘fun to explore at some point’

Alexa Bliss is enjoying the work she’s doing in WWE at the moment, but she still thinks it would be fun to link up with The Wyatt Sicks at some point.

At SummerSlam night one this Saturday, Bliss & Charlotte Flair will team up to challenge Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez for the Women’s Tag Team titles. A victory would see Bliss & Charlotte continue their frenemies team, while a loss could potentially accelerate a breakup.

Bliss spoke with Fox News Digital ahead of the PLE and was asked about potentially becoming part of The Wyatt Sicks. Given her connection with the late Bray Wyatt, it would be a logical fit for Bliss and is something she remains open to.

“I always have the same answer to this because I truly believe it,” Bliss said. “Windham always said, ‘Alexa and I will always be connected and when it happens and when we reconnect, it’s gonna be something big.’ So, whether that’s with the Wyatt Sicks or something else, I don’t know. Maybe we get a different side of Charlotte (Flair). I don’t know. It’s WWE, you never know what’s going to happen.

“I think it would be something fun to explore at some point. Right now, I’m having a lot of fun tagging with Charlotte and seeing where that dynamic goes. But obviously, I’m still always going to have a piece of Bray with me with the jacket and the skirt and the character and just kinda keeping it in that same vein in case that doesn’t happen. I think it would be something really cool to see, but you never know.”

The Wyatt Sicks consists of Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, and Erick Rowan.

Night two of SummerSlam is set to feature a six-way TLC match with Lumis & Gacy defending their WWE Tag Team titles against Motor City Machine Guns, The Street Profits, DIY, Fraxiom, and Andrade & Rey Fenix.

‘The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks’ set for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

The Wyatt Sicks are coming to Universal Studios locations in Orlando and Hollywood.

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights will feature a haunted house based on the WWE faction.

A press release describes the experience:

Guests will be immersed in the world of WWE in the bi-coastal haunted houses “WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks,” where they will go head-to-head with Uncle Howdy in an experience that not only features The Wyatt Sicks, but honors the legacy of Bray Wyatt.”

“Horror fans brave enough to travel through the light of the lantern will find themselves transported into the maniacal minds of The Wyatt Sicks, where each member reigns supreme within their own horrific domains. There, Uncle Howdy together with Ramblin Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch and Huskus the Pig will be waiting to take bloody retribution on a world that has abandoned them. Along the way, guests will be stalked by the eerie presence of The Fiend, Bray’s sadistic alter ego, who looms within the shadows and beckons them to let him in.”

The Halloween Horror Nights event runs from August 29 to November 4 at Universal Orlando and from September 2 to November 4 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

News of the Wyatt Sicks’ inclusion was first reported by The Park Place in January.

“Universal is pulling out all the stops to bring The Wyatt Sicks’ surreal, sinister world to life in ways that promise to unsettle even the bravest HHN attendees,” wrote Marvin Montanaro.

Another haunted house scheduled for this year is based on the movie Five Nights at Freddy’s.

WWE was previously featured at Halloween Horror Nights in 2000, when a haunted house centered on The Undertaker was part of the lineup.

Jelly Roll appearance, Tag Team title match set for next WWE SmackDown

For the first time since winning the WWE Tag Team titles a week ago, the first defense for The Wyatt Sicks will come on next week’s edition of SmackDown.

Made during Friday’s show, Rey Mysterio & Andrade will challenge Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy for the gold they won from The Street Profits. The duo earned the shot in a fatal four-way as they defeated three sets of former champions in #DIY, Fraxiom and the Motor City Machine Guns.

Mysterio last held the gold with Dominik Mysterio in 2021 while Andrade has never held WWE tag team gold.

Jelly Roll, Logan Paul, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre will all be on hand as the build toward their SummerSlam match — and Jelly Roll’s pro wrestling debut — continues.

Ahead of Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair challenging Women’s Tag Team Champions Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez at SummerSlam, Bliss and Perez will go one-on-one.

Here’s the current lineup for Cleveland, Ohio:

  • Jelly Roll, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul appearances
  • WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) defend against Andrade & Rey Fenix
  • Alexa Bliss vs. Roxanne Perez
