Liv Morgan should be dropped from the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament | Opinion

Liv Morgan’s surprise addition to the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament, announced after last Sunday’s Clash in Italy, sparked some interesting discussion online.

There’s good reason for that as there are some flaws in her inclusion.

Why is it a big deal?

The winner of the tournament for the men and women’s KOR/QOR tourneys earn a championship opportunity at SummerSlam. So, why is the Women’s World Champion featured in a tournament designed to determine her potential challenger?

It naturally sparked a debate given the traditional expectation that all WWE champions will be featured at Night of Champions later this month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Morgan positively reacted and explained how her eagerness to win it all got her featured in the tournament. She also appeared slightly taken aback by the announcement and responded while staying in character.

Morgan’s transition from the underdog to compelling fan favorite won her over with the WWE crowd. Her 2022 Money in the Bank win and subsequent cash-in accelerated her rise to stardom. At WrestleMania 42, she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to begin her third World title reign, and it looked like big things were on the horizon for the new champion in 2026. She even released a music video for a new theme song.

But the lack of a title defense since April raises the question on what WWE has in store for her. Even if WWE wants to do a storyline of her holding the World title and also winning the Queen of the Ring Tournament, that decision would invite some scrutiny.

The Judgment Day trajectory adds another layer of intrigue with the tension among the group of late, lending credence to a theory on Raquel Rodriguez potentially betraying Morgan for the Women’s title as a central storyline. There has been little development and Morgan’s reign is being questioned due to the stagnant positioning and title defenses. It became more evident when the push was strong going into her winning the title.

And then there was this story that came out Thursday.

Morgan needs to defend at Night of Champions

For a champion like Morgan, who has a proven track record and is capable of delivering excellent title matches, to not defend the World Title at an event called Night of Champions diminishes both the title and her reign. Her potential absence also creates an unnecessary disconnect.

Her current path in WWE seems to be less about conventional title defenses and feuds and more about positioning her as the center of multiple stories at once. This strategy could either solidify her stance as champion or risk diluting her third World title reign.

There is still time for WWE to adjust the Queen of the Ring bracket and replace Morgan with another competitor, allowing her to focus on a title defense. Alternatively, WWE could utilize the weeks leading to the event to determine a challenger for Morgan in a series of qualifying number one contender bouts.

Maria Kanellis addresses the evolution in women’s wrestling: ‘You didn’t talk about your children’

Former WWE and AEW talent Maria Kanellis recently opened up and discussed how far women have come in the pro-wrestling industry.

Beginning her career in the early 2000s, Kanellis recently revealed that women with children were not supposed to talk about them.

Speaking to Wrestling Life Online, Kanellis opened up and shared the major difference between today’s women’s wrestling and the time she started.

When I first started, if you had a kid, you were quiet about it. You didn’t talk about it. You didn’t talk about your children and bless the women that did because that schedule way back when was so much harder than what I left wrestling and You used to be on the road four or five days a week, and at the time there was no FaceTime. So you were leaving your baby at home.

Discussing the evolution in women’s wrestling, she further continued, “You didn’t have the opportunities that you do now, as far as FaceTime and being able to connect on the phone. A lot of times, if you went internationally, you didn’t talk to anybody back home. There was no way. So the women that were able to have children back then and kept it quiet, they had to be strong women.”

Married to Mike Bennett and a mother of three, Kanellis began her career with WWE before switching promotions and working all across the world in NJPW, ROH, TNA, and even AEW.

WWE NXT live results: Tony D’Angelo vs. Kam Hendrix title match

Kam Hendrix, one of the newest additions to the NXT roster, is looking to achieve the biggest win of his young career.

The NXT Championship will be on the line when Hendrix challenges Tony D’Angelo tonight. He already owns a victory over D’Angelo in tag team action, though D’Angelo did not take the fall in that match. Instead, Hendrix pinned Myles Borne after pushing his own tag partner Mason Rook out of the way, which led to issues between the two NXT newcomers.

Borne, the NXT North American Champion, has another tag match tonight, teaming with Tavion Heights against DarkState.

We’ll hear from NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice, who promises that she’ll have a lot to say after defeating Izzi Dame last week. Also in the women’s division, Zaria clashes with Lizzy Rain.

Plus, the men’s Speed Championship is set to be defended with Lexis King vs. Romeo Moreno.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

Live! From Orlando, Florida.

Vic Joseph and Booker T were on commentary.

The competitors in tonight’s main event were shown walking into the building to hype the Tony D’Angelo NXT title defense against Kam Hendrix.

Zaria v. Lizzy Rain

Zaria blocked a tornado DDT and knocked Rain to the mat with a pump kick. Zaria whipped Rain around the ring, targeting her injured back. The Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley came out to join the commentators in an attempt to distract Zaria. She was unfazed though, knocking Rain to the floor with a solid forearm shot.

Back from a commercial, Rain took Zaria to the mat with a super hurricanrana. But Zaria sprang right back up and cut Rain in half with a spear. Both women exchanged forearms, and Rain ducked a charge and hit Zaria with a clothesline. Rain hit a tornado DDT off the ropes for a near fall.

Zaria came back with a pop-up headbutt. Rain got a near fall with a victory roll. Zaria caught Rain with a knee out of the corner and a rolling lariat for another near fall. Rain fired up and caught Zaria with a cutter and then a modified DVD for a near fall. Zaria came back with a German suplex and a spear. Zaria finished off Rain with an F5.

Match Result: Zaria pinned Rain (10:32).

After the match, Zaria tried to beat up Rain some more, but Paxley stopped her by offering up a title match for next week.

— Saquon Shugars attacked Dark State as they were on their way to the ring. After the break, Vic Joseph announced that the Dark State match would occur later tonight. He also hyped up Booker T as “Mr. Great American Bash” and… really?

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) v. The Culling (Shawn Spears & Nico Banks) (w/ Izzy Dame)

Nima and Price attacked Spears and Banks before the bell. Price and Banks had an awkward exchange that I think was supposed to end in Banks flipping over Price, but he didn’t clear him and basically planted his groin in Price’s face. They figured it out and then redid the spot. They went to the floor and Banks threw Price into the ring barricade.

After a break, Nima suplexed Spears. Price got the tag, then dropped to the floor to suplex Banks on the apron. Price took both Spears and Price down at once. Price press-slammed Banks onto Spears. Price floored Banks with a knee for a year fall. Banks put down Price with a sharp elbow. Price shoved Spears into Banks. Nima and Price hit their finisher on Spears (kind of like a double-team Angle Slam) and got the pinfall.

Match Result: OTM beat The Culling when Nima pinned Spears (9:27).

This was moves with no real flow.

— EK Prosper, Tate Wilder and Kam Hendrix chat in the locker room about their upcoming matches tonight. Well not EK Prosper, who doesn’t have a match. But he’ll get to tell his grandkids he was in the building when Kam Hendrix won the NXT Championship!

Jackson Drake (w/ The Vanity Project) v. Tate Wilder

Wilder took down Drake with a sling blade, and he dropped to the floor to regroup. So Wilder took all of them out at once with a cannonball off the stairs.

CW paid a lot of bills with a long commercial break during this match. When they finally got back to it, Wilder hit Drake with a flying forearm. They fought on the ring apron. Wilder caught Drake with a gamengiri, but Drake came back with a spear to the floor. Back in the ring, Wilder avoided a 450, then hit Drake with a TKO (the move, he didn’t ask him to take a 50% pay cut) for a near fall.

Wilder went to the top, but Drake hit the ropes and crotched Wilder. Drake went to the top, but Wilder powerbombed him out of the corner. Wilder hit a twisting splash off the top for a near fall. The members of the Vanity Project jumped on the apron, but Wilder knocked them down. He tried to take out Myka Lockwood with a rana, but she blocked it, powerbombed Wilder into the ringpost and then onto the ring apron. Back in the ring, Drake finished off Wilder with a 450 splash.

Match Result: Drake pinned WIlder (8:35).

— Robert Stone was interviewed by Emily Agard about the upcoming Great American Bash. Someone comes in to start yelling at him, but Jasper Troy interrupted. They got in each other’s faces, and another member of Dark State attacked Troy and soon it was complete chaos in the back.

Lola Vice Sets Up Her Next Challenger

Lola Vice came out to the ring for a promo and talked up her recent victories in NXT and AAA. She wanted to know who her next challenger was going to be. This brought out Kelani Jordan. Jordan said that she’s proved herself by going to TNA and winning the Knockouts title, but she didn’t get the same praise that Lola Vice did for going out and winning the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles. Vice wasn’t impressed with Jordan’s TNA title right, because “if you blinked, you missed it.”

Kendal Grey came out (with Wren Sinclair, hobbling behind her) to throw her name in the ring, too. She, after all, won the Iron Survivor and pinned both Jordan and Vice. Lola Vice got sick of all the complaining, and made the match between Grey and Jordan for next week, with the winner getting the title shot at the Great American Bash. On her way out, Jordan pulled at one of Vice’s title belts, causing her to spin into Grey and hit her with an elbow.

— In the back, Zaria F5’d Tatum Paxley into a storage cage.

— Mason Rook and Tony D’Angelo talked trash about each other until Robert Stone intervened and made a match for Rook and Naraku for next week. If Rook wins, he “cuts the line” and gets into title contention. (This was later made a #1 Contenders Match at the end of the show.)

Romeo Moreno (w/ Noam Dar) v. Lexis King (w/ Birthright) for the NXT Speed Championship

Since this is a Speed Championship match, the time limit is five minutes. Moreno caught King with a sunset flip, then a dropkick. Moreno hit a German suplex and a dropkick off the middle ropes for a near fall. Moreno caught King with a cradle for a near fall. King came back and caught Moreno with a diving dropkick in the corner for a near fall. King repeatedly kept trying to cover Moreno, forcing him to kick out multiple times.

King and Moreno exchanged a series of strikes. King went for a half-crab, but he didn’t lock it in. Moreno rolled King into a vertical suplex, then caught him with a superkick. Moreno tried for a crossface, but turned it into the Rings of Saturn. King escaped and dropped to the floor. Moreno took out the other members of Birthright with a dive off the top.

Moreno tried for a dropkick off the top, but King stepped back and, if I can be serious for a minute, locked in a half-crab. Moreno escaped and caught King with a cradle. Moreno missed a move off the top, and King finished off Moreno with The Coronation, and modified swinging neckbreaker.

Match Result: Kingpinned Moreno to retain the Speed Championship (4:34).

— Natalya and Jadia Parker exchanged words in the back. Natalya sees right through Parker’s act. Natalya knows that she’s soft.

Dark State (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) v. Tavion Heights & Miles Borne

Cutler James was taken out of this match in the attack earlier by Saquon Shugars.

There were a few instances of miscommunication between Borne and Heights in the early going. But they still combined to take Lennox out with a double dropkick. Borne clotheslined Griffin to the floor. Soon all four men were on the floor. Heights tossed Lennox over his head with a belly-to-belly.

Dark State got the heat on Borne during the commercial. Lennox and Griffin worked over Borne in their corner. Borne backdropped Lennox out of his way to make the tag to Heights. Heights hit an amazing belly to belly on Lennox, then tossed Osiris around. Lennox tripped up Heights so Griffin could give him a headbutt. Dark State finished Heights off with the Doomsday Device.

Match Result: Dark State won via pinfall (11:02).

This didn’t feel like eleven minutes, probably because most of it was during the break.

Next week’s show:

  • Kendal Grey v. Kelani Jordan to crown the #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship
  • Mason Rook v. Naraku (later announced to be a #1 Contenders match for the NXT Championship)
  • Tatum Paxley v. Zaria for the NXT North American Women’s Title
  • Shiloh Hill v. Tristan Angels in the Mr. NXT Pageant

Tony D’Angelo v. Kam Hendrix for the NXT Championship

I’m not liking Hendrix’s chances here, since they’ve already set up another opponent for D’Angelo in Mason Rook.

Hendrix hit the Showtime Kick out of nowhere for a near fall. Hangman’s neckbreaker got another near fall. After a DDT, Hendrix got a third near fall. Naraku was shown watching in the crowd. Hendrix started firing away with forearms on D’angleo. D’Angelo caught Hendrix and dumped him like a sack of potatoes. Hendix dropped to the floor to regroup.

When Hendrix got back in the ring, D’Angelo was all over him with clobbering forearms and clotheslines. D’Angelo tossed Hendrix with a FU. D’Angelo tossed Hendrix over his head with a belly to belly, then clotheslined Hendrix to the floor. Hendrix went to grab the title belt, but Naraku stood up and shook his head at Hendrix, who left the belt alone and headed back into the ring.

After a commercial break, Hendrix got a near fall after a suplex while Naraku looked on. D’Angelo came back with a series of release German suplexes. D’Angelo hit a spinebuster. D’Angelo hit a modified fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. D’Angelo ran into a knee and Hendrix went for a cradle with his feet on the ropes, but the ref caught him.

D’Angelo tossed Hendrix down with a suplex. Hendrix hit a Showtime Kick, then followed up with a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Hendrix and D’Angelo started exchanging strikes, but Hendrix leapt into a powerbomb from D’Angelo for a near fall.

Hendrix snapped D’Angelo’s neck against the top rope, then crawled to the floor to get a steel chair. Mason Rook cut him off. D’Angleo backdropped Hendrix onto the announcer’s table. Back in the ring, D’Angelo hit a variation on the Sky High to get the pinfall.

Match Result: D’Angelo pinned Hendrix to retain (10:48).

Naraku handed D’Angelo his title belt and offered him a bow after his match. It was made official that Rook and Naraku’s match next week will crown the #1 Contenders for the NXT title.

Two matches announced for WWE Raw next week

A pair of tournament matches have been made official for WWE Raw next week.

The June 8 episode of Raw is set to be held in Paris, France at Accor Arena. WWE has announced that King & Queen of the Ring will continue to play out with first-round matches in each tournament. On the men’s side, it will be Seth Rollins vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Talla Tonga vs. Ricky Saints. The women’s bout is Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Chelsea Green.

Both tournaments kicked off today with Oba Femi and IYO SKY becoming the first participants to advance to the semifinals. The remaining first round and semifinal matches will take place on Raw and SmackDown in advance of the June 27 finals at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

At stake in the tournament are World title shots at SummerSlam. Though Morgan is already the Women’s World Champion on Raw, her explanation for still participating in Queen of the Ring is that she wants to take everything she can.

Next week’s Raw, like today’s episode from Turin, has a special start time of 2 p.m. Eastern. It’s airing live on Netflix during WWE’s ongoing European tour.

WWE Raw (Monday, June 8) —

  • King of the Ring first-round match: Seth Rollins vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Talla Tonga vs. Ricky Saints
  • Queen of the Ring first-round match: Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Chelsea Green

Je’Von Evans lists his WWE mentors: Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, more

Je’Von Evans has some of the biggest names in WWE helping to guide him through his early main roster run.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo during Clash in Italy weekend, Evans said the veterans in WWE have been very willing to help him out and give him advice. His mentors include current champions Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, the now-retired John Cena, and NXT boss Shawn Michaels.

“A lot of people. I ask everybody like, ‘Hey, if you see something, let me know,’ especially if they have a lot of experience here on main roster,” Evans said. “But right now, of course Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, CM Punk, and John Cena. Those are like my OGs — of course Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. They all look out for me. Those are the people that help me out the most, they look out for me. And Papa Shawn.”

Orton has spoken publicly about giving advice to Evans. While Evans is an “incredible” talent who is capable of doing so many spectacular things in the ring, Orton has spoken with him about the importance of preserving his body by not doing all of those moves every single night.

The 22-year-old Evans is still seeking his first WWE gold after losing to Intercontinental Champion Penta on Raw last week. Despite the loss, Evans told Salcedo that the match was one of his favorites since joining the main roster. Evans also named his November 2025 bout against Gunther in the Last Time is Now tournament as a highlight.

Je’Von Evans in WWE King of the Ring tournament —

Evans did not have a match at Clash in Italy, but it was announced that he’ll be one of the 16 entrants vying for the King of the Ring 2026 crown. He’ll get to face off against one of his mentors in the first round, with Evans and Rollins set to clash in a four-way match that also includes Talla Tonga and Ricky Saints.

WWE’s King & Queen of the Ring tournaments are both taking place over the next few weeks before culminating at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 27. The winners earn World title shots at SummerSlam.

Becky Lynch breaks unfortunate record at WWE Clash in Italy 2026

Becky Lynch broke an unfortunate WWE record at the Clash in Italy 2026 PLE.

In the fourth match of the night at Clash in Italy in Turin, fans saw Sol Ruca defeat Becky Lynch to become the brand new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

However, while doing so, Lynch broke quite an unfortunate championship record. In addition to holding the record for the longest-reigning WWE Women’s Intercontinental title at 163-days, Lynch is now also the shortest-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

The finish of the match saw Lynch go for the manhandle slam near the corner, which Ruca countered. She then followed it up with the Sol Snatcher and secured the pinfall victory.

Lynch’s third title reign came to an end at just 43-days at Clash in Italy. She had previously won the title from AJ Lee at WWE WrestleMania 42. The shortest-ever title reign was previously held by both Lee and Maxxine Dupri, each for 49-days. Lynch’s second reign lasted for 54-days, while inaugural champion Lyra Valkyria held the gold for 145-days.

Just weeks after making the main roster jump to WWE RAW, Ruca has now won her first-ever WWE main-roster singles championship.

NXT Championship match part of next week’s WWE NXT lineup

Two title matches are part of next week’s NXT lineup.

Tony D’Angelo announced on Tuesday that he would be defending his title next week against Kam Hendrix. But he also wanted to address someone else: Naraku, who came to the ring. The former EVIL explained that he would make sure D’Angelo retains the title next week, as they are meant to wage war over the title.

Meanwhile, Lexis King will defend his Speed Championship against Romeo Moreno, who defeated Nathan Fraizer in a surprise upset on Tuesday with just seconds left to go in their match. Moreno advances to the finals after Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy went to a time limit draw in their match earlier in the night.

After DarkState took out Saquon Shugars from the group last week, they explained their actions on Tuesday, saying he was an independent wrestler while they were D1 athletes. They also promised they would be going after people again, making a statement later in the show when they jumped Myles Borne and Tavion Heights as they were arguing backstage, setting up a tag match for next week.

Other matches will see Lizzie Rain looking to gain a measure of revenge over Zaria, while Tate Wilder will face Jackson Drake after throwing out a challenge during a backstage segment.

WWE NXT (June 2)

  • NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo defends against Kam Hendrix
  • Men’s Speed Champion Lexis King defends against Romeo Moreno
  • Jackson Drake vs. Tate Wilder
  • Lizzy Rain vs. Zaria
  • Darkstate vs. Myles Borne & Tavion Heights

Intercontinental title match added to WWE Raw

Fresh off a successful defense at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Penta is already set to defend his Intercontinental Championship again.

WWE has announced that Penta vs. Je’Von Evans for the Intercontinental title will take place on tonight’s episode of Raw from Columbus, Ohio. The match comes just two days after Penta retained over Ethan Page on SNME.

“Intercontinental Champion Penta continues to build his reputation as a true fighting champion as he prepares to battle the dynamic Je’Von Evans in a title match,” WWE.com wrote. “Find out who will leave Raw with the title, tonight at 8 ET/5 PT on Netflix.”

Evans is looking to win the first championship gold of his WWE career. He previously challenged for the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 42, where Penta won a six-pack ladder match to remain champion.

Having won the belt from Dominik Mysterio back in March, Penta’s IC Championship reign is approaching the three-month mark. It currently stands at 84 days.

Tonight’s Raw is the go-home show for this Sunday’s Clash in Italy PLE. Here is the updated lineup for the episode.

WWE Raw (Monday, May 25) —

  • World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu contract signing for Clash in Italy Tribal Combat match
  • Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez)
  • Intercontinental Champion Penta defends against Je’Von Evans
  • Oba Femi opens the show

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event notes: Jade Cargill, Bron Breakker, champs retain

Notes from Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The main event in Fort Wayne, Indiana saw The Vision retain the World Tag Team titles over the Street Profits. Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins nearly had the match won, but Heyman put Austin Theory’s foot on the ropes to break up the pinfall attempt. Ford stalked Heyman outside of the ring but was blindsided by Logan Paul, who struck Ford with the brass knuckles. He threw Ford back in the ring and Theory covered him for the win.

After the match, the champions and Bron Breakker started to leave but right as the credits started to roll, Breakker re-entered the ring and speared both Street Profits, leaving all three Vision members and Heyman standing tall to end the show.

Jade Cargill victorious, other champions retain

Elsewhere on the show, Brie Bella and Paige continued their winning streak, retaining the Women’s Tag Team titles over former champions Lash Legend & Nia Jax. Ethan Page was also unsuccessful, losing to Intercontinental Champion Penta.

Other matches on the show saw Jade Cargill pin Rhea Ripley in a six-woman tag team match, giving herself momentum ahead of their match at Clash in Italy. Becky Lynch attempted to get Sol Ruca DQ’d in her match by pushing the referee in front of Ruca as she went for the Sol snatcher, accidently laying out the referee. The referee instead DQ’d Lynch, giving Ruca her first victory on the main roster.

After Lynch laid out Ruca following her loss, it was later announced that she would defend the Women’s Intercontinental title against Ruca at next weekend’s Clash in Italy event.

Women’s Intercontinental title match added to WWE Clash in Italy

A match for the Women’s Intercontinental title is set for Clash in Italy.

Becky Lynch tried to be smart during her non-title match against Sol Ruca during Saturday Night’s Main Event, throwing referee Jessika Carr into Sol Ruca’s way as the new Raw star laid her out with the Sol snatcher. Once the referee recovered, she called for the bell, disqualifying Lynch. The enraged champion then jumped Ruca, laying her out with multiple manhandle slams.

Backstage, Nick Alids informed Lynch that he had talked to Raw GM Adam Pearce and as a result of her actions, an Intercontinental title match had been added to next Sunday’s Clash in Italy, which will take place in Turin.

Ruca has yet to score a pinfall victory since getting called up to the main roster, losing to the likes of Liv Morgan and IYO SKY. After Lynch dismissed Ruca on this past Monday’s Raw, the former NXT star went to the ring and called out Lynch. The two eventually agreed to a match for SNME, but Lynch objected to putting the Intercontinental title on the line.

WWE Clash in Italy (May 31)

  • WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes defends against Gunther
  • Tribal Combat match for World Heavyweight title: Roman Reigns defends against Jacob Fatu
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley defends against Jade Cargill
  • WWE Women’s Intercontinental title: Becky Lynch defends against Sol Ruca

***************

It’s another Saturday night, my friends and just like in High School, I’m home watching wrestling! There’s a bevy of matches on the card tonight that have hu–, hav big—, well, they have stakes! And maybe even implications! So without further ado, let us commence with the Event that is Main on the Night of Saturday!

Six Woman Tag Team Match: Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair & Rhea Ripley vs. B-Fab, Jade Cargill & Michin

To start things off it’s a six-way dance featuring WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, former Women’s Tag Champs Bliss & Flair and also B-Fab, Michin and Jade Cargill are there. Ripley is looking for the ever-elusive “momentum” leading into her match with Cargill in Italy.

Ripley and B-Fab kicked things off with B-Fab missing a pump kick and eating a clothesline. Bliss tagged in and tood own B-fab with a headscissor. Michin tagged in, but Bliss took her out with a really stiff looking knee to the nose.

Flair tagged in and and rolled Michin around the ring in a scissor lock. Flair took her out with a clothesine and B-Fab came in to take a crossbody from Bliss. Cargill dragged Bliss to the outside and kicked her to death to try and fire up her team.

Cargill took Flair down and tagged in Michin. Flair found herself isloated in her opponent’s cornerm taking offence from all three who tagged in and out around her. Michin suplexed Flair and went for a cover, but she kicked out at two.

Flair cleared the corner and created some space, but Michin got the better of her with a headscissor from the top turnbuckle. Michin went to finish her off, but Flair countered. B-Fab tagged in and cut her off from tagging Ripley.

They both popped up and delivered pump kicks at the same time, leaving both on the canvas. Flair finally got a tag to Ripley just as Michin tagged in. Ripley worked her over with clotheslines and slams, building up to a Rip Tide.

Ripley hit a missile dropkick and sent Michin sprawling. Just as she set up Rip Tide, Cargill came in and caused a distraction. Michin tried a hurricanrana, but Ripley countered it. Michin spiked Ripley for a tweo count, but Ripley was able to tag in Bliss.

Bliss hit a tornado DDT for a two count and then ate a chinbreaker. Michin tagged in B-Fab who squirmed out of Sister Abigail and hit a DDT on Bliss. Michin tagged back in and they went for a double move, but Bliss countered it into a double DDT and tagged Flair who flew in with a crossbody.

Michin recovered and hit Flair with a Styles Clash, but Ripley broke up the pin. Cargill came in and started spamming superkicks, taking out everyone until Flair caught her with a boot.

Cargill tagged in and so did Ripley, giving the crowd a preview of their faceoff in Italy. They traded blows with Ripley coming out on top with a Rip Tide. She stacked Cargill up but Michin broke up the pin. Flair took out B-Fab and played a little “will they / won’t they” with Ripley before they hit double slams on B-Fab and Michin.

Cargill wiped everyone out and hit a Jaded slam on Ripley to pin the WWE Women’s Champion and deny her that oh so sweet momentum.

Match Result: B-Fab, Jade Cargill & Michin defeated Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair & Rhea Ripley

-Backstage, Ethan Page was interviewed about his match against Penta tonight for the Intercontinental Championship. Page said that it was the IC Title’s biggest night ever because when he wins it, the spotlight will be on them both.

Non-Title Match: Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca

Did I hear ‘California Surfer?’

I must have because Sol Ruca is here! She doesn’t like Becky Lynch (many people are saying this) and wants to fight her about it. Lynch, the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion, doesn’t think Ruca is ready for her.

Or Auska. Man, I miss Auska.

Anyway, Ruca was interviewed before her entrance and made several references to snatching things because that’s her finishing move, you see.

Before the bell, Lynch threw the IC title belt at Ruca and yelled at the “fast counting” ref. Eventually the bell rang and Ruca hit a spinning face slam and springboard crossbody on Lynch. Ruca stayed in control, so Lynch left the ring to regroup.

Ruca hit her with a leap from the apron (the surfiest part of the ring!) and thew Lynch back into the ring. Lynch tried to get the upper hand, but Ruca countered everything she threw at her. Ruca went for a Sol Snatcher off the top, but Lynch pulled the ref into the way. The ref immediately called for the DQ.

Match Result: Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch via DQ

After the match, Lynch ambushed Ruca and hit her with the belt. Then she hit a trio of Manhandle Slams to put Ruca out. The crowd was… not pleased. Micheal Cole was “disgusted” as this was “unbecoming” of the Intercontinental Champion.

Then everything was better as Penta cut a promo about how Ethan Page only fights for ego, but Penta fights for his people. I like Penta.

-Back from break, Becky Lynch was informed by Nick Aldis that as a result of her actions, she will have to face Sol Ruca at Clash In Italy for the Intercontinental Title.

Then, Lash Legend and Nia Jax were interviewed about how they are better than Paige and Brie. However, the video feed was hooped and all we saw on youtube was a green bar.

They thankfully managed to correct this before:

WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page

You know WWEKO is completely behind Penta because he got in-ring fireworks while they barely said Page’s name during his entrance. Then the commentary team pointed that very thing out.

Hamilton’s own Ethan Page started off falling victim to a waistlock. He reversed it and Penta then reversed that and kicked him in the gut. Page roared back with some right hands, knocking Penta into the corner.

Penta went for a spingboard, but Page caught him in midair with a dropkick. Penta came back with an arm drag that sent Page out of the ring. Penta followed and kicked Page in the face. He charged him, but Page back body dropped Penta onto the announce table.

Page told the ref to stop the count out (because he can do that I guess) and sent Penta into the ringpost face first. Back in the ring, he dropped a few elbows and earned a couple of two counts.

Penta raged back, sending Page to the outside and diving after him. Both men seemed to take the brunt of the dive, but Penta got to his feet first and threw Page back into the ring. Page hit a superkick but Penta hit a spingboard DDT for a two count.

Page blocked a Penta driver and scoop slammed Penta for a two count. Penta came back with a backstabber for a two count of his own. They then traded chops in the middle of the ring, moving into trading superkicks until both men went down.

Page hit a Confidence Breaker out of nowhere, but still only a two count. Penta countered and Egoplex with a Penta Driver, but again, only two. Penta went for a Mexican Destroyer but Page insterd a high knee instead.

They climbed to the top of the ringpost and Page landed an Avalanche Slam but somehow Penta kicked out. A frustrated Page resorted to punching and uncovered a turnbucke. He got caught, so he exposed another one.

Penta ran at him, and Page sent him chest first into the steel. Penta came back off of that with a Mexican Destroyer and pinned Page to retain the Intercontinental Title.

Match Result: Penta defeated Ethan Page

-Backstage (sigh) “Scream Mode” was interviewed. Brie said that no one should write them off because they can win tonight.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match: Brie Bella & Paige (c) vs. The Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend & Nia Jax)

I do love that tonight’s show features back-to-back Paige/Page matches.

Jax and Lash tried to jump Bella and Paige off the bell, but Scream Mode was able to fend them off and Bella went up top to take out Jax. Brie tried it again, but Jax caught her in a Samoan Drop. Lash tagged in and whiffed on a pump kick, allowing Brie to tag in Paige.

Jax caused a bit of a distraction and Lash was able to hit Paige with a big boot. Lash hit a splash, but Paige kicked out of the cover at two. Jax tagged back in and rubbed her butt on Paige’s neck against the ropes.

Jax chopped Paige and then went for a choke while Brie paced on the apron. Lash tagged in and whipped Paige into the corner. She hit her with a clothesline and got a two count out of it. Lash cut off Paige’s attempts to tag Brie and put her in a full nelson.

Lash took a cue from Jax and continued working Paige’s neck. Paige pulled down the top rope and Lash flew over it, but for some reason Paige didn’t go for a tag. Jax came in, but Paige side stepped her and she crashed into the corner. Paige got the tag to Brie who delivered some Yes Kicks to Jax.

Jax overpowered Brie and tagged her with a pop up head butt followed by a samoan drop. Lash tagged in and hit a splash from the top but did not got for a pin. Jax dropped a leg from the second rope, but Brie kicked out at two.

Paige took a tag and leapt from the top rope onto Jax in a sunset flip. Brie helped her out and Paige pinned Jax to retain the titles.

Match Result: Brie Bella & Paige defeated The Irresistible Forces

Backstage, The Vision was shown warming up as Paul Heyman cut a promo about how the Street Profits will lose tonight. Logan Paul then started talking and I started blacking out, but I am pretty sure that he said they will retain the titles.

WWE World Tag Team Title Match: The Vision (Austin Theory & Logan Paul) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)

Fun Fact: This is the first time since 1992 that the Tag Titles have been up for grabs on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Ford and Theory stalked each other to kick things off while Dawkins danced and Paul worked the crowd. There was about nine minutes left in the show, so it was strange how they seemed to be wasting them mugging for the audience.

Finally, Theory and Ford started wrestling with Theory sending Ford to the mat. They locked up and Theory hit a shoulder block. Paul tagged in and the slow pace continued with a test of strength lock up. Paul then hit his own shoulder block. For popped up from that one and flipped across the ring to lure Paul in for some armdrags and dropkicks.

Theory tried to help but ate a dropkick too. Dawkins tagged in and they double teamed Paul. They clotheslined Theory and Paul off the apron, causing them to regroup with Heyman. They decided to leave at that point, but the Profits chased them up the ramp.

They pulled then back to the ring and Dawkins took out Paul in the corner. He went for a cover, but only got a two count. Theory caused a distraction and Paul hit Dawkins with an uppercut. Theory tagged in and Paul used him as a step for a splash.

Theory stomped Dawkins’ hand and then tagged in Paul. They hit a double shoulder block and posed. Paul grabbed a headlock on Dawkins. Dawkins elbowed his way out of it, but couldn’t get the tag to Ford. Paul clotheslined him and tagged in Theory.

Paul got sent through the ropes and pulled Ford off the apron. In the ring Theory stomped Dawkins and then handed things over to Paul. Paul did another splash but Dawkins moved and hit a neckbreaker. Ford stomped back up to the apron and got a tag, taking out Theory from the top rope. He laid out Paul and then powerslamed Theory.

Paul grabbed a blind tag and hit a lariat for a two count. Theory tagged back in and they tried a double team but Ford caught a blind tag from Dawkins and they double teamed Paul out of the ring. Dawkins put Theory up on his shoulders and they doomsday deviced him but Theory kicked out at two.

The Profits sent Theory and Paul to the outside and Ford flew onto them. Bron Breakker then flew down to help, but Dawkins sent him flying into the announce table. Ford pinned Theory in the ring but Heyman put his foot on the roped to break the pin.

Ford stalked Heyman outside the ring and Paul belted him with the brass nux. He threw him back into the ring and Theory pinned him to retain the titles.

Match Result: The Vision defeated The Street Profits

After the match, Breakker speared Dawkins and Ford. Then Paul and Theory got back in the ring and posed with him.

Women’s title match, start of men’s Speed tournament set for next WWE NXT

A Women’s title match and the start of the latest Speed tournament is part of next week’s WWE NXT lineup.

Tuesday’s show saw Kelani Jordan come out and complain about not getting a shot at the NXT Women’s title. Lola Vice came out to respond but so did Izzi Dame and Kendal Grey, both of whom were looking for the next title match. Vice eventually decided she’d face Dame next week, then Jordan thereafter.

It was then that Wren Sinclair came in from behind, attacking Jordan with a crutch as a measure of revenge from an earlier Jordan attack. Later in the show, Sinclair told Robert Stone she would be cleared next week and was granted a match against Jordan.

Meanwhile, the start of the next men’s Speed tournament will take place when Sean Legacy takes on Dorian Van Dux. The winner of the tournament will earn a match against current champion Lexis King.

Other matches for next week include Shiloh Hill taking on Charlie Dempsey and OTM squaring off against Niko Vance & Shawn Spears of The Culling. After Layla Diggs stood up to Jaida Parker over her recent confrontation with Nattie, Parker issued a challenge for next Tuesday.
