WWE announces judges for Mr. NXT pageant

WWE NXT General Manager Robert Stone recently announced on social media the list of judges for the Mr. NXT pageant.

The June 9, 2026, episode of WWE NXT will host a pageant contest between Shiloh Hill and Tristan Angels. The event will now be judged by EVOLVE Champion Aaron Rourke, Kit Wilson, and comedian Matt Mathews.

The three judges for the event will mark the competitors in three categories: attire, talent, and public speaking.

Apart from the Mr. NXT pageant, the upcoming NXT episode will also feature a WWE Women’s North American Championship match.

  • Mr. NXT Pageant: Shiloh Hill vs. Tristan Angels

Andre Chase announces new in-ring name following WWE NXT release

Following his release, the former Andre Chase (Chance Barrow) will be using a very similar wrestling name to the one he had in WWE NXT.

Barrow sent out a social media post today announcing that he’ll now be going by “The Professor” Andre Chance. He is keeping “Andre” as part of the moniker while using his real-life first name as his new wrestling surname. Barrow is accepting bookings for matches, meet and greets, signings, and seminars.

During his time in NXT, Barrow was the leader of Chase U, a college-themed faction with Barrow serving as the head of the fictitious university. He was a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Duke Hudson and Ridge Holland as his respective partners.

Andre Chase’s real-life college degree —

Barrow recently obtained his actual college degree, earning a bachelor’s in sports management from the University of Florida. His graduation ceremony took place just over a week after his release from WWE.

“This degree has given me a strong foundation in the business side of sports and entertainment. Beyond the classroom, the connections I have made along the way have meant everything to me,” he wrote on Instagram. “The Gator alumni network is truly something special. Thank you to everyone who offered guidance, support, and encouragement throughout this journey, especially my friends and family, who made it possible.

News of his release broke on April 24, with Barrow being let go during WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts. He had wrestled under the name Harlem Bravado before his WWE career.

WWE NXT age stats this week

The average age of the in-ring talent was 29.9 years. NXT came in nearly five years younger than Monday’s Raw at 34.6, and more than six years younger than Clash in Italy at 36.2, which you’d expect due to NXT being the developmental brand.

North American title match, two number one contender’s matches set for next WWE NXT

A North American title match is part of next week’s WWE NXT lineup.

On Tuesday, Zaria defeated Lizzie Rain in the opening match. But it wasn’t enough, as she continued to attack Rain after the match until Tatum Paxley, who was on commentary, entered the ring for the save. The Women’s North American Champion told Zaria that if this is what she wanted, she would give her a title match next week.

Since Sol Ruca left the brand, Zaria has made it clear she wants to stand out as a singles star, and in recent weeks has focused on Paxley and her Women’s North American title.

Two number one contender’s matches were also announced for next week. One will have Kendal Grey take on Kelani Jordan where the winner will face Lola Vice. The other will have Mason Rook face Naraku, with the winner facing NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo. The winners will get their title match at The Great American Bash, which takes place on June 28 in Orlando.

A vignette for the Mr. NXT pageant between Tristan Angels and Shiloh Hill was shown on Tuesday, promoting that three would compete in attire, talent, and public speaking. The voiceover said the “WWE Universe” and three special guest judges would determine the winner.

WWE NXT (June 9)

  • Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley defends against Zaria
  • Number one contender’s match for NXT Women’s Championship: Kendal Grey vs. Kelani Jordan

WWE schedules NXT Great American Bash for very busy pro wrestling date

Three major professional wrestling shows are set to take place on June 28.

AEW Forbidden Door and TNA Slammiversary were already scheduled for that date — and it’s now been announced that NXT Great American Bash is also happening on that Sunday. Great American Bash will go head-to-head with Forbidden Door, while Slammiversary avoids direct competition due to its afternoon start time.

Great American Bash begins at 7 p.m. Eastern time on June 28. It’s the first NXT PLE that will air live on The CW as part of a new multi-year PLE deal between the sides. The CW already airs NXT every week and is now carrying PLEs on its broadcast channel as well.

“Everybody’s been asking me, ‘When is the first PLE on The CW Network?’ Well, that’s what this announcement is for. June 28, CW Network and NXT are going to bring you Great American Bash,” NXT boss Shawn Michaels announced. “This partnership is moving forward and the Great American Bash on June 28 will have a special start time of 7 p.m.”

Peacock was previously home to these NXT events, but that deal expired prior to Stand & Deliver 2026, which aired on YouTube while WWE was still working out where NXT PLEs would land.

Great American Bash, Forbidden Door & Slammiversary details —

A location for Great American Bash was not mentioned in today’s announcement, so it will presumably be held at the WWE Performance Center. Forbidden Door and Slammiversary are respectively taking place in San Jose, California and Boston, Massachusetts.

The listed start time for Forbidden Door ticket holders is the same as Great American Bash (7 p.m. Eastern), while Slammiversary is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

WWE Night of Champions is set for this weekend as well, with that PLE happening in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, June 27.

The latest on potenital WWE return for Enzo & Big Cass | Exclusive

More on a potential Enzo Amore & Big Cass reunion.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that Amore is set to return to NXT soon. However, there hasn’t been much discussion on Big Cass, who remains under AEW contract.

“The current plan has Enzo Amore to be in NXT soon. Nothing on Big Bill, the former Big Cass, is official or even talked about heavily in the company, but outside the company there is a lot of talk,” Meltzer wrote. He compared the situation to Chris Jericho’s, where just because someone is off television for a period, doesn’t necessarily mean they are on their way out.

Bill’s last AEW match to date was in early April, when he and Bryan Keith wrestled during a set of Ring of Honor tapings.

Amore has already been spotted at the WWE PC

WrestleVotes reported earlier this month that WWE was interested in reuniting the two after Amore was reported to be visiting the WWE Performance Center.

The two became big stars in NXT. After being called up to the main roster, the two enjoyed further success before Cass turned against Enzo Amore. After their feud, the two continued as singles wrestlers until Amore was released in 2018 following sexual assault allegations. The Phoenix Police Department later announced that his case had been closed with no charges filed. In the time since his release, Amore was worked the independent scene.

Cass was released the same year and struggled with addiction following his departure. He eventually found sobriety and signed with TNA in 2021 before joining AEW one year later.

WWE NXT notes: Mr. NXT pageant announced, Saquon Shugars, Marie Malenko

Notes from Tuesday’s WWE NXT.

Over the last couple of weeks, Shiloh Hill has been passing a petition around in an effort to name himself Mr. NXT over Tristian Angels, who has grown infuriated over Hill’s actions and behavior. After Hill managed to defeat Charlie Dempsey on Tuesday, Angels came out and informed Hill they have both been entered into the Mr. NXT pageant that will take place in two weeks time on June 9.

Saquon Shugars appears, Marie Malenko wrestles in dark match

Meanwhile, DarkState continued to run roughshod after taking out Shugars from the group on last week’s show, targeting Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. The closing moments of the show saw the trio walk out of the Performance Center, happy with what they had accomplished. But what they didn’t see was Shugars watching them from afar on top of a production truck, seemingly plotting revenge against his former stablemates.

Marie Malenko, the daughter of current AEW producer and former WWE & WCW star Dean Malenko, had her first WWE match on Tuesday, wrestling Zena Sterling. Marie had wrestled for Marigold and Pro Wrestling NOAH before joining the company, who officially announced her signing last week.

NXT Championship match part of next week’s WWE NXT lineup

Two title matches are part of next week’s NXT lineup.

Tony D’Angelo announced on Tuesday that he would be defending his title next week against Kam Hendrix. But he also wanted to address someone else: Naraku, who came to the ring. The former EVIL explained that he would make sure D’Angelo retains the title next week, as they are meant to wage war over the title.

Meanwhile, Lexis King will defend his Speed Championship against Romeo Moreno, who defeated Nathan Fraizer in a surprise upset on Tuesday with just seconds left to go in their match. Moreno advances to the finals after Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy went to a time limit draw in their match earlier in the night.

After DarkState took out Saquon Shugars from the group last week, they explained their actions on Tuesday, saying he was an independent wrestler while they were D1 athletes. They also promised they would be going after people again, making a statement later in the show when they jumped Myles Borne and Tavion Heights as they were arguing backstage, setting up a tag match for next week.

Other matches will see Lizzie Rain looking to gain a measure of revenge over Zaria, while Tate Wilder will face Jackson Drake after throwing out a challenge during a backstage segment.

WWE NXT (June 2)

  • NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo defends against Kam Hendrix
  • Men’s Speed Champion Lexis King defends against Romeo Moreno
  • Jackson Drake vs. Tate Wilder
  • Lizzy Rain vs. Zaria

Marie Malenko reacts to signing with WWE

Signing with WWE was a lifelong goal for Marie Malenko.

The daughter of former WWE/WCW/ECW wrestler Dean Malenko, Marie’s signing was officially announced this week when WWE unveiled its new class of Performance Center recruits. She was identified under the ring name Lacey Simon in the four-person class, which also includes Mason Rook (indie wrestler Will Kroos), Nicole Martinez (Nikki Blackheart), and bodybuilder Marcus Brown.

Marie made an Instagram post today sharing just how long she’s waited for this moment. She included pictures of herself as a child at WWE events with Beth Phoenix, Naomi, CM Punk, and The Bellas.

“Since birth babyyyyyy. knew what I wanted and got it,” she wrote. “Let’s get to work. Gods plan. #wwe #wwenxt #wwesuperstar #nepobaby #3rdgeneration”

She also thanked her coaches Jay Lethal, Vincent Marseglia of The Righteous, and Aleister Black’s Dark Arts Gym.

Before signing, Marie participated in a WWE tryout this February. She also picked up experience in Japan working matches for Pro Wrestling NOAH and Marigold this year.

Marie’s father Dean Malenko is part of the behind-the-scenes staff at AEW and previously worked backstage for WWE.

Of this class of recruits, Kroos is the farthest along, already having debuted on NXT by targeting the brand’s champion Tony D’Angelo. Martinez, who has impressed those in WWE, worked a dark match at NXT this Tuesday.

Dean Malenko’s daughter part of new group of WWE NXT signees

Marie Malenko, the daughter of Four Horsemen member Dean Malenko, has officially joined the WWE Performance Center.

WWE unveiled its latest round of Performance Center recruits today. It’s a four-person class consisting of Mason Rook, Nicole Martinez, Marie Malenko, and Marcus Brown. In the announcement tweet, WWE identified Malenko under the ring name “Lacey Simon.”

Malenko attended a WWE tryout earlier this year and, in her young career, has already gotten experience in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH. Her father Dean holds a behind-the-scenes job in AEW.

The announcement of Rook’s signing was just a formality, given that he’s already made his mark on NXT and is coming off a successful TV in-ring debut where he teamed with Kam Hendrix to defeat NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo & North American Champion Myles Borne. Rook then laid out his tag partner following the match after Hendrix stole the pin on Borne.

A heavyweight from the United Kingdom who also has competed for NOAH, Rook can count John Cena among his supporters. Cena has sent out multiple tweets reacting to Rook’s segments on NXT.

Nicole Martinez is indie wrestler Nikki Blackheart, who worked a dark match at last night’s NXT. She is said to have been heavily on WWE’s radar prior to her tryout and subsequent signing.

Brown is entering pro wrestling after having been a bodybuilder. He had a WWE tryout in 2025.

Former WWE NXT wrestler reportedly cast on ‘Survivor 51’

Brady Booker, a former WWE NXT wrestler who now competes for ROH, has reportedly been cast on the next season of “Survivor.”

Inside Survivor reports that Booker is part of the anticipated cast for “Survivor 51,” which has already filmed in Fiji and is scheduled to premiere this fall. Booker returned for his first post-filming match this Monday at ROH’s TV tapings in Jacksonville.

When he was in NXT, Booker went by the name Bodhi Hayward as one of the original members of Chase U with Andre Chase & Thea Hail. He was released from his NXT contract in 2022.

Booker has featured in ROH dark matches with his trainer Billy Gunn and tag partner Elijah Drago. QT Marshall is another one of Booker’s trainers — and Booker is a former Heavyweight Champion for Marshall’s Georgia-based indie promotion One Fall Wrestling.

If Booker is crowned the winner of “Survivor 51,” he will receive a $1,000,000 grand prize.

Other wrestlers to compete on ‘Survivor’ —

Booker joins Johnny TV (John Morrison) and the late Ashley Massaro as wrestlers who have appeared on the long-running reality show. Iconic “Survivor” villain Johnny Fairplay, a huge wrestling fan, had a brief stint as an on-screen character in TNA in the wake of his reality TV stardom.

The landmark 50th season of “Survivor” wraps up tonight with its finale airing on CBS. One of the final five is Jonathan Young, an aspiring wrestler who is a mentee of Lex Luger.
