With their biggest show of the year only a month away, TNA has some work to do. So the live episode of Impact this week was dedicated to announcing and building matches for the big show.
That means we only got three matches—Matt Cardona vs. Frankie Kazarian, Jodi Threat vs. Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell, and the Hardys & Mara Sade vs. the Great Hands & Tasha Steelz—but those matches all got plenty of time in between all the promos, angles, and returns. We’ll get into it on the Big Vinny V Show!
TNA Wrestling has announced a change to one of the matches for Victory Road 2024.
Alisha Edwards & Masha Slamovich were scheduled to defend their Knockouts Tag Team titles against Dani Luna & Jody Threat on tonight’s TNA+ special. However, Edwards has been pulled from the show due to not being cleared to compete. TNA has announced that the match will still go on with Tasha Steelz taking Edwards’ place.
The title bout has a stipulation where Luna & Threat will have to disband their team if they lose. Luna & Threat were the Knockouts tag champs before Edwards & Slamovich dethroned them for the belts this May.
Edwards being pulled from tonight’s show comes after she was legitimately knocked out during a match at TNA Emergence two weeks ago.
Victory Road is being held in San Antonio, Texas tonight with the main card starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The build for TNA Rebellion continues as Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace defends her title against Tasha Steelz.
Elsewhere, X Division champion Mustafa Ali books a six-man match to determine his next challenger but ends up disappointed by the surprising winner, the Time Splitters square off against the Grizzled Young Veterans with a result that’s shocking for multiple reasons, Crazzy Steve defends the Digital Media title in a violent-but-nonetheless-boring spectacle, Eric Young issues a heavy challenge to Frankie Kazarian, and tension builds between TNA champion Moose and his Rebellion challenger Nic Nemeth.
Jordynne Grace will defend her Knockouts title on next Thursday’s TNA Impact as she takes on former champion Tasha Steelz.
Steelz called for the match on Thursday’s show after she was upset with the result of a three-way title defense that included herself, Grace and Xia Brookside at this month’s Sacrifice. Pointing out that she was never pinned in the match, Steelz demanded another shot which Grace accepted off-camera.
This will be their fourth singles meeting in TNA and the third with the title on the line. While Steelz won the first match, Grace is 2-0 in the title defenses.
The show will also feature another title bout as Digital Media Champion Crazzy Steve defends against PCO.
Also announced for next week was a tag team match that will see the Time Splitters (Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA) against the Grizzled Young Veterans. After Shelley, KUSHIDA and Chris Sabin lost to the Veterans and Mustafa Ali at Sacrifice, Zack Gibson and James Drake called their shot Thursday which Shelley accepted for himself and KUSHIDA, adding to a growing divide between Shelley and longtime partner Chris Sabin.
Ash by Elegance will also be back in action, looking to remain undefeated at 3-0. Her opponent was not named.
Here’s the current lineup:
TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace defends against Tasha Steelz
Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs. Time Splitters (Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA)
TNA Digital Media Champion Crazzy Steve defends against PCO
Alex Shelley will look to defend his Impact Wrestling World title on this Thursday’s Impact Wresting on AXS TV as he faces Jonathan Gresham.
Shelley will be hoping to pick up the sixth title defense of the championship he won in June. He is coming off a successful defense against former titleholder Josh Alexander at last month’s Bound for Glory.
Gresham, the former Ring of Honor World Champion, is still looking for his first taste of Impact gold. This is his first shot at the company’s biggest championship.
In a clash of former Knockouts Champions, Deonna Purrazzo will take on Tasha Steelz.
In a match that has been building for weeks and intensified due to several attacks, Digital Media Champion Tommy Dreamer will defend against Crazzy Steve who earned the shot via a Feast or Fired briefcase.
Here’s the current lineup that was taped following last month’s Bound for Glory:
Impact World Champion Alex Shelley defends against Jonathan Gresham
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Tasha Steelz
Impact Digital Media Champion Tommy Dreamer defends against Crazzy Steve
Will Knockouts Champion Mickie James be able to defend her title at next Sunday’s Rebellion? That answer will be revealed on next Thursday’s Impact on AXS.
James had to miss her title defense against Jordynne Grace at last month’s Sacrifice and then a four-way title defense at Impact x NJPW Multiverse United due to a broken rib.
It was determined that Grace and Deonna Purrazzo (who won the four-way) would compete for the title at Rebellion but if James is unable to compete, it will be a one-on-one as opposed to a three-way and a new champion will be crowned guaranteed.
Here’s a look at the rest of the Rebellion go-home edition of Impact on AXS:
Two past Knockouts title challengers will square off as Tasha Steelz will take on Gisele Shaw while the feud between The Coven and the Death Dollz will continue as Taylor Wilde will face Jessicka.
It will be Steelz’ first match back in the company since January.
In a match that will determine the man advantage for Team Tommy Dreamer or Team Bully Ray at Rebellion, Frankie Kazarian will take on Kenny King.
The Design’s Callihan & Angels will face Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry & Dirty Dango in tag team action.
Here’s the current lineup:
Tasha Steelz vs. Gisele Shaw
Taylor Wilde vs. Jessicka
Callihan & Angels vs. Joe Hendry & Dirty Dango
Kenny King vs. Frankie Kazarian for the man advantage at Hardcore War
The final decision on whether Mickie James will wrestle at Rebellion
Here are notes from Friday’s Impact Sacrifice event in Windsor.
Friday’s broadcast revealed the date and location for this year’s Slammiversary event. Like Friday’s Sacrifice, it will take place in Windsor, Ontario, Canada at St. Clair College on July 15. The fallout television tapings will take place the following day in the same venue.
Tasha Steelz made her return to the company on Friday, confronting former associate Savannah Evans, who accompanied Gisele Shaw in her match against Deonna Purrazzo. Steelz at first acted like the two were still friends, but then turned on Evans and laid her and Jay Vidal out.
A vignette during Sacrifice showed Jody Threat, who is coming to the promotion soon. Threat is a regular in the Canadian independent scene but is best known for her match on AEW Dark: Elevation that aired on October 10, 2022. She faced Athena in a match where Athena was shown to be very stiff, which ended up being the catalyst for an eventual heel turn.
Dirty Dango has found a new wrestling home for the time being.
PWInsider reported Tuesday that the former Fandango in WWE has signed with Impact Wrestling. No terms were disclosed.
Dango (Johnny Curtis) made his Impact debut at last October’s Bound for Glory also working several matches on the subsequent TV taping. He returned at the post-Hard to Kill TV taping in January and again at their recent TV tapings in Orlando.
Dango is a regular on the indie scene as well as in the NWA in the last year. It’s unknown if he’ll continue to work with the NWA given this new contract.

Twitter was buzzing last Thursday when former Knockouts Champion and Knockouts Tag Team Champion Tasha Steelz posted a cryptic tweet that seemed to indicate she was done with the company following her walking away from tag team partner and ally Savannah Evans on last week’s show:
Fightful reported on Tuesday that Steelz actually requested time off from Impact, hence the on-screen angle. She will be off TV for at least the next month as she was not at their recent Orlando TV tapings.
Steelz announced in November that she had signed a multi-year deal to remain with Impact.
*****
Fightful also reported that NJPW wrestlers are “tentatively slated” to appear at next month’s No Surrender special in Las Vegas which could mean they will also appear at the company’s TV taping the next day.
Impact and NJPW had a strong relationship in 2022 that saw wrestlers like Jay White, Satoshi Kojima, Tomohiro Ishii, Aussie Open and others compete in the promotion.
NJPW’s weekly TV show airs on AXS TV following Impact.
The former Knockouts Champion revealed the news during an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald released on Wednesday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“I’m excited. Re-signing with Impact so Impact gets more flava and I’m glad to deliver it for the next few years,” Steelz said. “Impact fans, I know they are very excited to hear the news. I’m excited, more flava.”
She continued to talk about what she has been able to accomplish in the promotion since signing with Impact in May 2020.
“It’s been great because I’ve been so fortunate from the time I started and me walking in at the right time in 2020 when everyone was, at the time, losing their jobs and I was gaining a job. It’s been nothing but sky-high for me. Walking in, immediately Fire N Flava was formed and everyone knew Fire N Flava. Just eight months of us being formed we won the Knockouts Tag Team Championships and made history becoming the first Black females to win the Knockouts Tag Team Championships.”
Steelz continued to talk about moving into the singles division after her team with Kiera Hogan broke up.
“Less than six months after that, I became the first Afro-Latina Knockouts World Champion and not only that but beating and defeating a legend. It’s just been so great,” she continued.
Steelz defeated Mickie James for the Knockouts title at Sacrifice on March 5, 2022. During her reign, she defended the title three times successfully in Impact against James, Rosemary, and Havok. Outside of Impact, she defended it against Big Swole in GCW and Queen Aminata for Battle Slam. Steelz dropped the belt to Jordynne Grace in a Queen of the Mountain match at Slammiversary.
She would also comment on what led to her decision to re-sign with Impact.
“If there’s anybody that gives you that opportunity to really be yourself and just go out there and be yourself and not have to change you, it’s definitely Impact, so, definitely have to stay here,” she said.
Impact Wrestling has announced four matches for Thursday’s broadcast.
A four-way tag team match has been added to the show. The Motor City Machine Guns will take on Ace Austin & Chris Bey, Aussie Open, and Raj Singh & Shera.
Tasha Steelz vs. Jessika and Rich Swann vs. Laredo Kid has been announced for Thursday’s episode as well.
Yuya Uemura vs. Andrew Everett is this week’s Before the Impact match.
Impact Wrestling on Thursday, November 17 was filmed on October 22 from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas. The advertised lineup for the show is as follows:

Reigning Impact Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz will look to defend her title at April’s Rebellion pay-per-view against former champion Rosemary.
Rosemary, part of the Decay faction, earned the shot on Thursday’s AXS TV show as she won a ten-woman battle royal. It was down to her, Gisele Shaw and Lady Frost and with all three battling on the apron, Rosemary managed to hold on while Shaw and Frost fell to the floor.
She won the TNA version of the title in 2016, losing the renamed Impact version at 2017’s Slammiversary in a title unification bout against GFW Champion Sienna. She is also a former Knockouts Tag Team Champion.
Steelz will be trying to earn her second title defense after defeating former champion Mickie James in a street fight rematch last week.
Here’s the current card for the April 23rd Poughkeepsie, New York, event:
Impact World Champion Moose defends against Josh Alexander
Impact X-Division Champion Trey Miguel defends against “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Ace Austin in a three-way
Impact Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz defends against Rosemary
Two title matches have been announced for the Thursday, March 24 Impact Wrestling episode, both rematches from Sacrifice.
Tasha Steelz will defend the Impact Knockouts World Championship against Mickie James in a street fight. Steelz defeated James to capture the Knockouts title for the first time at Sacrifice on March 5.
On this week’s Impact episode, Chelsea Green offered to be in James’ corner for the street fight, but James declined, citing Green’s injury.
Also announced for next week’s episode, Violent by Design will defend the Impact World Tag Team Championship against former title holder The Good Brothers in a lumberjack match. Violent By Design defeated The Good Brothers to win the Tag titles at Sacrifice.
The winners of the lumberjack match will go on to defend the Tag titles in an eight-team elimination challenge at the April 23 Rebellion pay-per-view.
It will be Mickie James vs. Tasha Steelz II at Sacrifice.
Tasha Steelz defeated Chelsea Green in a number one contender’s match on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling to claim her place in the Impact Knockouts World Championship match at Saturday’s Sacrifice event.
Steelz won the match against Green after outside interference from Savannah Evans. James was at ringside for the bout, but promised not to interfere. James looked on as Evans attacked Green, then rolled her back into the ring. Steelz then hit a frog splash for the pinfall win.
The next challenger for Knockouts Champion Mickie James will be determined on next Thursday’s Impact as Chelsea Green takes on Tasha Steelz.
The winner will move on to face James at next Saturday’s Sacrifice.
On Thursday, James and Green petitioned Gail Kim for the match before Steelz and Savannah Evans took issue given Green’s interference in James and Steelz’s title match at last Saturday’s No Surrender. Kim relented and made the match.
Next Thursday is the go-home show for the aforementioned Sacrifice with all bouts acting as previews.
In eight-man action, Bullet Club (Jay White, Chris Bey & Tag Team Champions Good Brothers) will take on former Bullet Club members G.O.D. and Violent By Design’s Eric Young and Doering.
Eddie Edwards, newly of Honor No More, will take on Steve Maclin who was one of the Impact members Edwards turned on at No Surrender.
In a preview of their Knockouts Tag Team title match, Cassie Lee of champions The IInspiration will face Madison Rayne of challengers The Influence while JONAH will face Johnny Swinger.
Here’s the current lineup:
Chelsea Green vs. Tasha Steelz no. 1 contender’s match
Madison Rayne vs. Cassie Lee
Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin
JONAH vs. Johnny Swinger
Bullet Club (Jay White, Chris Bey, Good Brothers) vs. Violent By Design and G.O.D.
The Impact Knockouts title will be on the line as Mickie James will defend the gold against Tasha Steelz at February 19th’s No Surrender.
The Saturday event from Westwego, Louisiana, will air live on Impact Plus.
Steelz earned the opportunity by winning the first-ever women’s Ultimate X match at this month’s Hard to Kill. She and James have exchanged words the past few weeks on Impact TV leading up to the announcement.
James is coming off a successful title defense over former champion Deonna Purrazzo at Hard to Kill in a Texas Death Match. She’ll be looking for her fifth title defense in her fourth reign as champion.
Steelz is a former three-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion, but has not won singles gold yet in Impact. James coincidentally defended the title against Steelz’ former partner Kiera Hogan at NWA Hard Times.
James will be in the women’s WWE Royal Rumble match this Saturday.
The match joins the previously announced Impact World title match between champion Moose and W. Morrissey.
