BVV: TNA Impact review featuring a guitar case casket match

This past week’s TNA Impact was a pretty forgettable show….except for the main event which featured a stipulation you’re not going to see very often.

Apparently, you can buy a casket shaped like a guitar case and TNA got one to use a blowoff match between Elijah and Mustafa Ali.

And what a blowoff it was as TNA showed how to put a guy over in dominant fashion and make him look like a superstar. Though, there are questions of why they chose this particular guy to do it with.

Elsewhere, Indi Hartwell battled Heather by Elegance, Trey Miguel defended the International title against former champion Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Jodi Threat faced Tessa Blanchard, and Sinner & Saint returned to take on the new team of Rich Swann & BDE.

BVV: TNA No Surrender with Santana & Slater vs. Nemeth & Edwards

TNA No Surrender in a nutshell: the stuff you expected to deliver did, and the stuff you didn’t expect to deliver was much, much better than expected.

It wouldn’t be TNA without some illogical booking and nonsensical backstage segments, but the in-ring material was so good that none of that mattered.

The main event pitted TNA World Champion Mike Santana and X Division champion Leon Slater against Nic Nemeth & Eddie Edwards in an ECW throwback match with a cast of thousands doing run-ins, interference, and returns.

We also saw the Hardys and the Righteous operating as a shockingly good team to take on Order 4.

But the real story was the contributions from people you’d least expect, such as Indi Hartwell, Arianna Grace, and most of all, the great Mike Jackson.

BVV: TNA tries to reboot Mike Santana

Image: TNA Wrestling

It’s a new Big Vinny V Show recapping the last week of TNA Wrestling.

Mike Santana’s TNA World Championship reign ended before it had a chance to really begin, and now TNA is trying to rebuild their hero.

Santana opened last week’s episode of Impact with an emotional, vulnerable promo talking about all he had been through, in life and in wrestling, and where he goes from here.

Meanwhile, TNA named new challengers for Frankie Kazarian’s World title, Leon Slater’s X-Division title, and the Hardys’ Tag Team titles at Final Resolution, and took a step toward naming a challenger for Kelani Jordan’s Knockouts title as well.

Plus, Santino responded to the NXT invasion by shrugging his shoulders and booking a bunch of matches for future shows.

BVV: TNA Victory Road with Leon Slater vs. Myron Reed

The best thing on the promotion’s latest app special was the main event, which set up what might be an even better match at Bound For Glory. The Youngest in Charge Leon Slater defended the X Division title against the Young GOAT Myron Reed, with the winner going on to face the Young OG, Je’Von Evans from NXT. Oh, and Eric Young was also on the show, in what felt like Joe Hendry’s farewell to the promotion.

Elsewhere, the System faced Order 4 in Agent Zero’s in-ring debut with the company; a battle royal leads to a singles match to crown a new Knockouts champion with a surprising name coming out on top; Mike Santana and Ridge Holland have a tremendous Mean Guy Match; Frankie Kazarian battled Steve Maclin for the International title and a lot more, including a few highlights from Impact the night before.

Big Vinny V: Live edition of Impact with Bound For Glory build

With their biggest show of the year only a month away, TNA has some work to do. So the live episode of Impact this week was dedicated to announcing and building matches for the big show.

That means we only got three matches—Matt Cardona vs. Frankie Kazarian, Jodi Threat vs. Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell, and the Hardys & Mara Sade vs. the Great Hands & Tasha Steelz—but those matches all got plenty of time in between all the promos, angles, and returns. We’ll get into it on the Big Vinny V Show!

BVV: TNA Impact with Hardys vs. Fir$t Cla$$

With Against All Odds over and Slammiversary still weeks away, TNA put out an episode of Impact that wasn’t too exciting.

The Hardys take on Fir$t Cla$$ in the main event in a match that failed to produce a challenger for the tag titles. The IInspiration have their first match in the company in several years. Trick Williams celebrates in the Fir$t Cla$$ penthouse. Jason Hotch battles Leon Slater in a match that needed more time, and the Knockouts division does a stupid 8-4-1 match to name a top contender, who ends up winning in an unconvincing fashion. We’ll try to make it entertaining on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Best of Bound For Glory

With tapings canceled due to Hurricane Helene, TNA Wrestling presents a “Best of Bound For Glory” episode that attempts to honor history while still promoting this year’s show. That means nothing more than three years old and a focus on current stars such as Speedball Bailey, Jordynne Grace, Eddie Edwards, Josh Alexander, and a whole lot of Moose. It also means some of the best wrestling matches on Impact all year. We break it down on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Joe Hendry vs. Wolfgang

The Hendry-Gallus feud from NXT spills over into TNA this week with Wolfgang facing Joe Hendry in the main event. Why was this match so perfect for Hendry, and what does that tell us about where his professional future lies?

We also have a pair of qualifying matches for Ultimate X at Emergence, where Speedball Mike Bailey will defend his X Division title, with one of those attempting to qualify being … Speedball himself?

Plus: a major championship match is booked for next week, PCO’s honeymoon with Steph De Lander goes even worse than you might expect, and The System cuts a promo that may still be going on as we speak. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Things get weird on TNA Impact, Against All Odds recap

Between the System’s visit to the Hardy Compound and the events at Against All Odds, it was a weird week for TNA Wrestling.

We begin with Impact, where Eddie Edwards turns into a werewolf and Reby Hardy decapitates Alisha Edwards, and no, we are not making any of that up. It’s then on to Against All Odds, where Mustafa Ali and Trent Seven steal the show, Hendry Mania comes to an abrupt and definitive end, Matt Hardy challenges Moose for the TNA title, and a former TNA champion (spoiler: it’s Jeff Hardy) makes his big return.

Big Vinny V Show: TNA Impact plus Nemeth vs. Ishii from NJPW

It’s a special edition of the Big Vinny V Show today with TNA Impact plus Nic Nemeth vs. Tomohiro Ishii from NJPW Windy City Riot.

Impact this week is headlined by Kon vs. PCO in Monster’s Ball, a good old-fashioned extreme-style garbage match with some utterly ridiculous pre-match stips. We also have the setup for the Motor City Machine Guns’ farewell to TNA, Mustafa Ali gathering forces in his war against Jake Something, and Crazzy Steve defending the Digital Media championship against Laredo Kid.

Then it’s time for Nemeth vs. Ishii, an excellent match where the Wanted Man tried to beat the Stone Pitbull at his own game. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

The Big Vinny V Show: TNA Impact with Nemeth vs. Shelley

Nic Nemeth vs. Alex Shelley: the hidden gem of WrestleMania weekend. OK, technically, the match was taped in March, but it didn’t air until April 4, and it was worth the wait. The next challenger for the TNA championship faced the last man to hold the title, and each showed why they deserve main event status.

Elsewhere, X Division champion Mustafa Ali faces ECW legend Rhino in an Old School Rules match, Frankie Kazarian squares off with Chris Bey, and Ash by Elegance wrestles her fourth match.

So, yeah, it’s a one-match show, but that one match is really good. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

The Big Vinny V Show: WWE Raw with Seth Rollins vs. Jinder Mahal

Vincent Verhei is back and he’s reviewing—yes, really—MONDAY NIGHT RAW.

Topics include the never-ending promo with Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, a number of production gaffes despite the departure of Kevin Dunn, a main roster wrestler who should probably still be in NXT, a battle between Xavier Woods and Ludwig Kaiser that showed a new side of both men, a wacky Alpha Academy match leading to an even wackier promo, tease for a potential women’s main event at WrestleMania, all sorts of R-Truth goofiness, and of course the world championship match between WORKING MAN’S CHAMPION Seth Rollins and the Internet’s favorite whipping boy Jinder Mahal.

Is it a fun time as always? YOU DECIDE.
