Bully Ray to team with Deaner at Impact Slammiversary

Update —

Impact Wrestling is saying that PCO’s status for Slammiversary is uncertain after he was attacked and set on fire by Bully Ray and Steve Maclin on Impact last week.

**********

Bully Ray has found a new partner for his tag team match at Slammiversary.

Bully Ray will be teaming with Deaner against PCO & Scott D’Amore at this Saturday’s Impact Wrestling pay-per-view in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Deaner is replacing Steve Maclin in the match after Maclin had to be pulled from Slammiversary due to injury.

Deaner was revealed as Bully Ray’s new Slammiversary partner during Monday’s episode of Busted Open Radio.

Maclin was injured while wrestling on Impact’s Down Under tour in Australia. After facing Alex Shelley on night one, Maclin wasn’t able to compete in his scheduled match against Frankie Kazarian on night two.

Former NHL player Darren McCarty, who has had issues with Bully Ray in Impact, will be the special enforcer for the Bully Ray & Deaner vs. PCO & D’Amore match.

The updated Slammiversary card is listed below:

Steve Maclin off Impact Slammiversary due to injury

Due to injury, Steve Maclin won’t be able to compete at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.

Maclin was supposed to team with Bully Ray against PCO & Scott D’Amore in a grudge match at the Saturday, July 15 PPV. Impact announced today that Maclin won’t be able to take part in the match due to a serious injury that he suffered on the promotion’s Impact Down Under tour last week.

Maclin’s replacement for the Slammiversary bout will be revealed on Busted Open Radio this Monday (July 10).

Former NHL player Darren McCarty will be the special enforcer for the tag match.

Last month, Maclin dropped the Impact World Championship to Alex Shelley. Shelley then retained against Maclin in a rematch on night one of the Impact Down Under tour. Maclin was supposed to face Frankie Kazarian on night two but was pulled from the match because of his injury.

“First and foremost, everyone at IMPACT Wrestling wishes Steve Maclin a full and speedy recovery,” Impact Wrestling’s Santino Marella said. “Whoever Bully Ray brings aboard as his new tag team partner will step into a violent fight, that’s for sure. PCO is fearless and nearly unstoppable; Scott D’Amore is bent on revenge against Bully Ray, so any new partner for Bully Ray also will feel the wrath of D’Amore and his 30 years of pro wrestling knowledge.”

Slammiversary is being held at St. Clair College Sportsplex in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Here’s the updated card for the PPV:

Knockouts Tag Team title match added to Impact Slammiversary

A new championship match has been confirmed for Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.

Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven (Taylor Wilde & KiLynn King) will put their titles on the line against Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly at the Saturday, July 15 event. It’s taking place at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Slamovich and Kelly aligned together after facing off in a dog collar match at Against All Odds last month. They’ve defeated the Knockouts tag champs in singles action over the past couple of weeks.

Two weeks ago, Kelly defeated Wilde on Impact. Slamovich then saved Kelly from a post-match attack, joining forces with her former rival.

Slamovich defeated King last week after Kelly helped neutralize interference by Wilde.

Wilde & King won the Knockouts Tag Team titles from Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary this February.

Impact Sacrifice notes: Slammiversary, Tasha Steelz, Jody Threat

Here are notes from Friday’s Impact Sacrifice event in Windsor.

Friday’s broadcast revealed the date and location for this year’s Slammiversary event. Like Friday’s Sacrifice, it will take place in Windsor, Ontario, Canada at St. Clair College on July 15. The fallout television tapings will take place the following day in the same venue.

Tasha Steelz made her return to the company on Friday, confronting former associate Savannah Evans, who accompanied Gisele Shaw in her match against Deonna Purrazzo. Steelz at first acted like the two were still friends, but then turned on Evans and laid her and Jay Vidal out.

A vignette during Sacrifice showed Jody Threat, who is coming to the promotion soon. Threat is a regular in the Canadian independent scene but is best known for her match on AEW Dark: Elevation that aired on October 10, 2022. She faced Athena in a match where Athena was shown to be very stiff, which ended up being the catalyst for an eventual heel turn.
