“I wanna run through your wicked garden
Heard that’s the place to find you
‘Cause I’m alive, so alive now
I know the darkness blinds you”

Welcome in friends to TNA where they love a good car crash because becuase they’re full of high-impact action! Tonight we hear from AJ Francis (I’m just speculating, but I bet he says ‘money’ a lot) and Eric Young (who’s currently suing RFK for stealing his voice).

We also get a rare Inter-gender match, a mixed tag bout and a Stone Temple Pilots concert with the Hardys and the Righteous! But to kick things off:

Eddie Edwards vs BDE

Edwards its looking to show the world that he’s still got what it takes to be in the TNA Title picture. And if it means going through BDE to do it, well, then that’s probably whats going to happen I guess.

Edwards had a size advantage over BDE, but BDE brought the speed and got the first hit of the match in off of a springboard crossbody. He went up top, but Edwards was ready for it and crotched him on the turnbuckle. Edwards then hit a massive superplex off the top, but BDE kicked out of the cover.

BDE came back swinging, throwing jabs at Edwards’ face. He then hit a modified unprettier, but Edwards kicked out at two. BDE countered Edward’s attempt at a blue thunder bomb and hit him with double knees. Then Alicia Edwards got up on the apron to cause a distraction, but BDE was able to shake it off and hit a springboard cutter on Edwards (Eddie, not Alicia).

BDE went for a frog splash, but Edwards got the knees up and hit him with a Boston Knee Party (I love that name). Edwards made the cover and picked up the win.

Match Result: Eddie Edwards defeated BDE

After the matchj, Fabian Aichner came stomping down to the ring and single-handedly took out the System. Haha, no he didn’t! Aichner fell victim to the damn numbers game, but then Leon Slater showed up to even the odds. Aichner, BDE and Slater took out The System, but it should be noted, they did not beat them.

A cinematic, pre-taped promo for the Wicked Garden match aired next and it was exactly as weird as you think it would be, without telling us anything about the match itself.

Back from a break, AJ Francis made his way to the ring. Last week, Elijah rejected his offer to make music together, so this week, Francis is looking for money, money (sigh) money. Francis made fun of his former friends KC Navarro and Rich Swann, and then debuted his brand new song called “Walk.”

It made R-truth’s “What’s Up” look like Jay-Z’s “Encore.”

Francis’ “rap” was interrupted by Elijah who came out and said that he heard his guitar sampled in the song and walking is his thing, so he came out to see what was going on.

He accused Francis of using ChatGPT to rip him off. Francis then handed him a cease and desist letter. Last week, after Elijah refused to collaborate with him, Francis went and trademarked the look and name of Elias, Elijah and Ezekiel. Somehow, that also gave Francis ownership of all of Elijah’s music.

Elijah said he didn’t care about the legality and wanted to debut is new song “No Skill Uncle Phil.” Francis punched him in the face and that mercifully ended the segment.

-Back from break Elayna Black cut a promo from backstage about how she’s better than everyone. She then took aim at Indi hartwell who she accused of trying to suck up to the boss instead of getting by on talent, like Black does.

Mixed Tag Match: Santino Marella & Indi Hartwell vs Arianna Grace & Stacks

It’s a tale as old as time. Dad is a wrestler, so his daughter becomes a wrestler. Daughter starts dating a guy who’s a bit of a jerk, Dad takes away her Knockouts title. Then Indi Hartwell gets involved somewhere a long the line. Like I said, tale as old as time.

Also, Frankie Kazarian joined commentary under the orders of Daria Rae for some reason.

Also, Also: As someone from Missussauga, Ontario, Canada I love that Santino is billed as from there.

Santino and Stacks started things off, picking up where they left off last week in their singles bout. Immediately, Stacks tagged in Grance who yelled at Santino, eventually shoving her father. That brought Hartwell in to shove Grace, and then Stacks started fighting with Santino.

Somewhere in there, the match started.

Santino fought out of the corner, throwing punches at Stacks. Stacks sent him off the ropes and Santino grabbed a sleeper. Stacks elbowed himself free and then before he could do anything, we went to commercial break.

8 minutes later (seriously) we were back and Stacks went to mock Santino with a saluting headbutt, but Santino moved and sent him out of the ring. Hartwell tagged in, which brought in Grace. Hartwell hit a spinebuster and then got Grace on her shoulders. Grace wiggled out of it and started stomping Hartwell in the corner.

Grace hit a swinging neckbreaker, but Hartwell kicked out at two. Grace hit a suplex and running elbow off the ropes, but still no cover. Grace grabbed a headlock, preventing Hartwell for making a tag. Hartwell got free and the two collided in simultaneous clotheslines.

Santino and Stacks tagged in and Santino dropped him with an armbar. That brought out the Cobra, but Grace snatched it from her father. Stacks held Santino, but when Grace went to strike, Santino ducked and Stacks took the brunt of the Cobra.

Santino brought out a backup cobra and Hartwell put on the other one and they hit stereo cobras on Grace and Stacks. Santino made the pin and they picked up the vctory.

Match Result: Santino Marella & Indi Hartwell defeated Arianna Grace & Stacks

Back from break, the Elegance brand discussed Mr Elegance but then the lights went out and when they came back on, the Goth Girls were there, leading to the Elegance Brand running away.

Then Eric Young was in the ring. He said that TNA was a place of lies and false heroes like Joe Hendry and EC3, who Young chased out of TNA. He claimed that Mike Santana is sick with ego, selfishness and an addiction to crowd applause and approval.

He then said that he is going to beat Santana because he doesn’t need those things. That summoned Santana who Yeeted his way through the crowd to the ring. He grabbed a mic and said that Young was just bitter and irrelevant.

Young said hes been around a long time and has watched TNA rot from the inside due to people like Santana. Santana responded by saying that Young was just an old failure. Young then said that all the crowd cares about is a shiny new toy and once the shine was off of Santana, they will turn on him.

Young then said that he was going to take his power back by piledriving Santana and taking his belt. Santana said that next week he’s going to break his foot off in Young’s posterior. He then said maybe they should do it right here, right now. So, Young kicked him in the crotch and hit him with a piledriver. He then posed with the belt as we went to break.

-Back from said break, TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali called KC Navarro earning a shot at his title a fluke and he will prove it next week.

Intergender Match: TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Yǐng Lee vs Mr. Elegance

As the doctor said to me at my last colonoscopy, “hang on to something, because this is happening.”

On the way to the ring, the Concierge took an arguably racist swipe at Lei Ying Lee while introducing Mr Elegance. Xia Brookside then joined commentary and her first words were “I don’t know why I’m here.”

Mr Elegance began the match by dancing, shoving Lee to the mat, then dancing some more. Lee then tripped him and mocked him before laying him out with an armdrag. She sent him to the corner for exactly 10 punches and the rest of the Elegance brand hopped up to cause a distraction. So, the ref ejected them from ringside.

Lee tried to pick up Mr in a suplex, but he countered it and danced some more before giving Lee a Devil’s Kiss. He then posed some more until Lee punched him in the gut. Mr dodged a spin kick and dropped Lee with a big left hand punch.

Lee fought back with a flurry of kicks and punches and then got Mr in an ankle lock. He managed to get to the ropes to break the hold, but Lee flapjacked him for a two count. Lee then tried to get him up on her shoulders, but Mr responded with a pop up strike.

He took too much time on the top rope though and Lee crotched him on the turnbuckle. She then went to spin slam him, but Brookside caused a distraction allowing Mr to hit Excuse Moi and pick up the victory.

Match Result: Mr. Elegance defeated Léi Yǐng Lee

After the match, Brookside grabbed a mic and cut a promo over the unconscious Lee. She revealed that their match was official for Slammiversary and then left.

Wicked Garden Match: The Hardys (Matt & Jeff) vs The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent)

“I wanna run through your wicked garden
Heard that’s the place to find you
‘Cause I’m alive, so alive now
I know the darkness blinds you”

So, the Hardys and the Righteous have been neck and neck in the battle of who can be weirder. Last time they met, the Broken Hardys (and even Willow) showed up to help Matt gain a singles victory over Vincent. Tonight, The Righteous are hosting a “Wicked Garden” match which boils down to a street fight with a lot of lattice, flowers and barbed wire wrapped around the ropes. No countouts, no DQ, pin must be in the ring.

The Righteous came to the ring crowned in barbed wire and flowers along with about 30 members of their cult who surrounded the ring, which had me asking, why not just beat up the Hardys 30 on 2? But my thought was interrupted by the entrance of Broken Matt and Brother Nero. The cult members then all left as we went to a commercial break.

When we came back, the bell rang and the match was on. After a prolonged staredown, Matt and Dutch started brawling as did Jeff and Vincent. The Righteous went to whip the hardys into the barbed wire, but they were able to pull back just in time.

Jeff then arm dragged Dutch through one of the lattice pieces coverd in barbed wire and flowers. Vincent then shoved him into the barbed wire wrapped ropes. Matt made the save with an inverted DDT and grabbed a gardening rake. He, well, raked it across Dutch’s face while Jeff stomped Vincent.

Vincent hit a side slam on Matt and then raked it across Matt’s forehead. He turned to Jeff, who hit him with an atomic drop then a pair of dropkicks for a two count. The Hardys then hit a series of combo movies on the Righteous, sending Dutch and Vincent to the outside.

Jeff emptied a bottle of whatever sports drink sponsors TNA onto Dutch and then we went to commercial break.

Back from break, everyone was bloodier, but we won’t bore you with the details of their brutal battle.

Vincent broke some lattice over Jeff and tore his shirt off. Dutch choked Matt in the ring, going for a cover but only getting a two count. Vincent dumped Jeff back into the ring and wrapped his fist in barbed wire to punch Jeff. On the other side of the ring, Matt did the same to Dutch, then low blowed him with the wire.

Jeff got tanlged in the barbed wire, but Matt hit a twist of fate on Vincent to give him space to get free. They wrapped Vincent in a barbed wire crown and then a bloody Dutch came in for a save. The Hardys double suplexed him for his trouble, then put the barbed wire in his mouth. Ew.

Vincent saved Dutch and the Hardys whipped him into the corner for Poetry In Motion. Matt hit a Side Effect on Dutchm but only got a two count. He set him up for a Twist of Fate, but Dutch ran him through the lattice, knocking Jeff off the top turnbuckle in the process.

A kendo stick appeared in Vincent’s hands and he beat up Jeff with it. He and Dutch then tied Jeff to the ropes with some barbed wire. Vincent then pulled out a flower from a pouch, making sure not to touch it. They they forced it into Jeff’s mouth. He collapsed, presumeably because the flower was poisonous?

Matt took out Dutch and Vincent and Jeff stumbled off the ropes, dazed. He then convulsed and slipped out of the ring. Vincent grabbed Matt and threw him at Dutch for a lariat. On the outside Jeff collapsed again, foaming at the mouth.

As they put Jeff on the stretcher, Vincent cackled “I hope you liked meeting Lily of The Valley, Brother Nero.” Then Jeff jumped up and ran back to the ring, flailing into a shot from Dutch before passing out. The Righteous hit Orange Sunshine and got the pin to end the match.

Match Result: The Righteous defeated The Hardys

After the match, the Righteous posed in the ring. Suddenly the lights went out and when they came back on, the Hardys were gone.

TNA Knockout reportedly departs company

Myla Grace is reportedly no longer with TNA Wrestling.

Fightful Select reported on Thursday that Grace requested her release from the company earlier this week, and that it was granted in the last few days. The report also noted that there is said to be no heat between the two sides.

Grace debuted for the company last June. She most recently lost a singles match to Elayna Black at the March 28 tapings in New Orleans. She also teamed with Harley Hudson and Jody Threat in a loss to The Diamond Collective at the March 6 tapings in Atlanta.

Myla Grace outside TNA Wrestling

Grace recently completed a four-show tour with World Series Wrestling in Australia, where she won the promotion’s Women’s title from Ash by Elegance, only to drop it back to Elegance the following night.

She is the current holder of the OTT Women’s title in Ireland and also challenged for the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s title against Alexxis Falcon at RevPro Bash at the Bay on May 24.

Men’s Champions Challenge Match: Mike Santana, Mustafa Ali, Brian Myers, Cedric Alexander & Bear Bronson vs. Leon Slater, Eric Young, KC Navarro, Elijah & Frankie Kazarian

A Champion’s Challenge match seems like a pretty good way to do that!

For those not in the know, the Champions Challenge is a match that pits all current TNA Champions against an “All-Star” team of challengers. So in this case, it’s 10-Man tag match. If an “All-Star” pins a champion, they get a shot at that title. Speaking of titles, here’s who holds the gold in TNA:

TNA World Champion: Mike Santana
TNA International Champion: Mustafa Ali
TNA World Tag Team Champions: The System (Bear Bronson & Brian Myers)
TNA X-Division Champion: Cedric Alexander (also of The System)

The challengers didn’t get a televised entrance, but the champions did and it ate up about 10 minutes of TV time. When things got underway, Elijah faced off against Myers. He went old school and walked the ropes to take Meyers down to the mat. That is literally everything that happened in the ring before the first commercial break.

When we came back, Meyers had been replaced by Santana and they took turns missing moves on each other, leading to a respectful staredown.

Eric Young decided he had had enough and he stepped into the ring and punched out Santana. Kazarian tagged in off of Elijah and ate a dropkick from Santana. Kazarian tagged in Elijah and we were back to square one until Ali grabbed a bind tag and the speed picked up.

Elijah caught Ali with a pop up powerbomb, but Alexander broke up the cover. That started a brawl as everyone entered the ring and started throwing hands. Elijah hit a chokeslame on Ali on the ring apron (the challengingest part of the ring!) and Slater hit the champions field with a flipping dive over the ring post.

Back from a commercial break, things had settled down (I guess they didn’t want to bore us with the results of the brawl) and Bronson and Elijah were throwing hands. Alexander and Meyers joined him for a triple team, but Elias evaded it.

Ali and Santana both reached for tags, so Santana knocked Ali off the apron and took it for himself. HJe took on Kazarian and Young (not sure which, if either, was legal) and threw them to the outside so he could dive on Young.

Santana went for a double stomp on Kazarian, but Kazarian had moved. Ali grabbed a blind tag and he and Santana got in each other’s faces. Navarro took them both down with a double dropkick from the ring post and then 619’ed Ali, followed by a DDT. Ali kicked out at two though.

Ali tagged in Bronson who beat up on Navarro for a few minutes before lifting him up in a military press and dropping him in the middle of the ring. Ali tagged himself in and Narvarro got one to Slater who nailed Ali with a spin kick.

Things started breaking down again with people going in and out of the ring and dumping opponents to the outside. Ali and Slater stayed in the ring and Slater hit a swanton 450, but Alicia Edwards put Ali’s leg on the ropes to break the pin attempt.

Ali grabbed the International Title belt, but the ref grabbit away from him. Navarro hit a Blessing in Disguise and pinned Ali to win the match and gain an International Title shot.

Match Result: KC Navarro pinned Mustafa Ali to win the match and an International Title shot

-Backstage, Ariana Grace and Stacks were interviewed. Grace said she was a more worthy Knockouts Champion than Lei Ying Lee. Stacks said he was going to send Santino and his smelly sock puppet to the retirement home.

-Back from commercial we heard some words from the Righteous. They challenged the Broken Hardys to come to the “Wicked Garden,” whatever that is. The commentary team didn’t seem to know, so we all collectively decided to move on to:

Tessa Blanchard vs Harley Hudson

Hudson tried to steal one with a quick rollup, but Blanchard countered and charged her. Hudson stopped her with a shoulder block and then a big boot. Hudson slipped out of the ring and pulled Blanchard under the ropes to drop a leg on her.

Blanchard then dropkicked Hudson to the outside and then drove ler left knee into the floor. Tossing Hudson back into the ring, Blanchard went back to working the knee, twisting it around the ropes and stomping it.

Blanchard tied up Hudson in an inverted nelson hold and then went back to pounding on her knee. Blanchard put on a modified figure four and twisted the knee even more. Hudson punched her way free and Blanchard lost her cool and they two started throwing hands.

Hudson hit a fallaway slam, but the damage to her knee was apparent. She hit a hip attack in the corner, but Blanchard kicked out of the cover with a scream. Hudson set her up on the top turnbuckle, but Blanchard powered back.

Blanchard hit double knees out of the corner, but Hudson wouldn’t stay down. Hudson countered a suplex into a neckbreaker and set up Blanchard in the corner. Blanchard came out of it though and hit a Buzzsaw DDT to get the pin.

Match Result: Tessa Blanchard defeated Harley Hudson

-Back from break, the Somallier of the Elegance Brand told Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee that she better not screw up their match tonight.

Direct of Authority Santino Marella vs Stacks w/ Ariana Grace

They locked up off the bell with Santino sending Stacks to the outside to collect himself. Back in the ring Stacks went for a kick but Santino grabbed his foot and worked him over into a pin attempt.

Santino went to the technical, forcing Stacks to used a rope break to get out of an arm hold. Stacks threw Santino into the corner, but fell victim to an arm drag off the rebound. Santino threw some jabs and then went for a splash, but Stacks got his knees up.

Santino asked for a time out to recover, but no dice as Stacks whipped him into the ropes. Stacks hit some punches and a high knee to the gut for a two count. Stacks then went for a splash, but this time Santino got the knees up.

Santino fired up and threw Stacks to the corner for a driving shoulder. He pulled out the cobra, but Grace jumped up and grabbed it from him. That let Stacks get a quick pin and win the match.

Match Result: Stacks defeated Santino Marella

After the match, Grace yelled at her father and Stacks attacked him. That brought out Indi Hartwell, who ran them off then grabbed a mic and challenged them to a mixed tag match, right here, right now. That summoned Daria Rae who reminded everyone that they don’t make matches, she does. She said that the match would happen next week because she’d love to see Stacks beat up Santino again.

-Backstage AJ Francis was shown demanding paperwork from someone. That someone said they’d have it tomorrow and AJ said Money, Money, Money and that was it.

Fabian Aichner vs Eddie Edwards w/ Alicia Edwards

Edwards arrived representing The System and based on Aichner’s intro, I assume he’s a Coldplay fan.

As the bell rang and I realized the Aichner wasn’t actually Lars Sullivan, Edwards sent him to the corner. Aichner gabbed a headlock and then trew a crossbody off the ropes. He send Edwards to the outside and then missed with a baseball slide.

Edwards went for a kick, but Aichner caught it and responded with a lariat. Getting back into the ring, Edwards shot Aichner into the ropes and then dropped a knee on his chest. Edwards chopped him in the corner and then whipped him off the turnbuckle.

Aichner fought back with a big boot into a spinning backbreaker. He suplexed Edwards and went for a cover, but Edwards kicked out. Aichner went for a powerbomb, but Edwards countered and drove him into the corner.

Edwards hit a backpack stunner, but Aichner kicked out at two. Alicia got involved, choking Aichner on the bottom rope. Edwards sent him to the outside and Alicia waved a kendo stick at him. The Ref saw it though and ejected her from ringside.

Edwards tossed Aichner back into the ring and went up top. Aichner scrambled up and grabbed him in a butterfly superplex. Edwards kicked out of the cover at two though.

The System (Meyers, Bronson and Alexander) came down to the ring to take Ariana’s place and Aichner dove over the ropes to take them out. He got back in and hit a DDT and then put Edwards in a choke hold. The rest of The System dove in to make the save and the match was ended in a DQ.

Match Result: Fabian Aichner defeated Eddie Edwards via DQ

After the match, Alexander hit a Lumbar Check on Aichner. The System then posed over a beaten Aichner.

Knockouts Champions Challenge Match: Lei Ying Lee & The Elegance Brand (Heather By Elegance & M By Elegance) vs Mara Sade, Xia Brookside and Elayna Black

So Lee is the current Knockouts Champion and the Elegance Brand hold the Knockouts Tag Titles. That’s it for the Women’s titles in TNA, so this would be essentially a trios match. The same rule as the Men’s match stands though in that if an “All Star” pins a champion, they earn a shot at that title. I’d like to point out that at not point before show time did TNA let us know who the All Star side of this match was.

Any way, Lee and Brookside started things off, but Brookside immediately tagged out and Black took her place. Black then decided she wanted nothing to do with Lee and Sade tagged in. She and Lee locked up with Sade going for a rollup, but Lee having none of it.

M tagged in just in time to take a sling blade from Sade. She bounced back and tagged in Heather who sent Sade into Black, causing a tag. Black and Heather fought with Black dropkicking Heather in the face. She drop toed Heather into the ropes and Brookside tagged in to deliver some running knees.

Brookside stomped a very elegant mudhole in Heather in the corner, but Heather countered with a dropkick and tagged in M who went coast to coast with a dropkick of her own. She went for a cover, but it was broken up by Sade and everyone started brawling.

Back from a break everything had gone back to normal and Sade and Heather were fighting in the ring. Sade dropped some wicked knees but Heather kicked out, Sade scoop slammed her then went up top, but M pulled her off the turnbuckle and Heather hit a lungblower.

M tagged in officially and they double teamed Sade. M it a senton, but Sade kicked out of the cover. Sade started a comeback, but M and Heather worked as a unit to keep her on her heels. The Elegance Brand refused to let Lee tag in and instead switched in and out to beat up on Sade.

Sade got a crossbody in, and Lee started jumping up and down for a tag. Brookside got a tag and Lee finally got into the match to face her. Black tried to help, but Lee kicked her in the head and started punching Brookside in the corner.

Lee hit an exploder suplex, but Brookside kicked out. Lee put her in the Warriors Way and connected, but Black broke up the pin. The Elegance Brand took her out and Sade then took them out. Lee and Sade were left and ran into eachother with a double clothesline.

Mr Elegance tried to help, but Kieth Jardine showed up and took him down with an ankle lock. In the ring, Lee fell victim to the damn nuumbers game and Brookside was able to pin her in the middle of the ring.

Match Result: Xia Brookside pinned Lei Ying Lee to win the match and earn a Knockouts Title shot.

***************

Two title fights, two knockout battles and two very weird dudes in what is sure to be a memorable match all make up this week’s TNA Thursday Night Impact!

To kick things off, newly-crowned X Division Champion Cedric Alexander and The System came to the ring to tell us how we can’t beat them. Fun Fact: Other names considered for this group were “City Hall” and “Carolina Hurricanes.”

One by one, each member used their mic time to tell us how they can’t be beat and say “THE SYSTEM” at least 10 times in their piece of the promo pie. Alexander talked about how Leon Slater was one day away from the X Division Championship record and he took that away, hence his new nickname, the “Record Taker.”

He then called out Fabian Aichner who has interrupted his celebration last week. Aichner came out and said that the bigger the fight, the better he is so bring it on, The System! He then challenged Alexander for the X Divison Title. Before he could answer, Edwards and the rest of The System tried to jump him.

Aichner dodged them all and then slapped a choke onto Alexander in the ring. The rest of The System saved him though, sending us careening into a backstage segment with Director of Operations Daria Rae talking to Steve Maclin.

She said that she understands Maclin and knows that he can take out Santana tonight. Maclin said nothing, but it was assumed he agreed.

Elayna Black vs Indi Hartwell

Ariana Grace and Stacks joined the commentary team for this match and immediately made it weird with some mild PDA.

Hartwell took control off the top with some shoving and a lariat. She hit a big boot while Grace complained that she kept looking at her.

Black shoved Hartwell off the ringpost, sending her to the outside in front of the announce table. Black dragged her back into the ring and laid and elbow into the back of Hartwell’s head. Black hit a double stomp, but Hartwell kicked out at two.

Hartwell powered back with a spinebuster and went up top. Stacks hopped up on the ring, causing a distraction so that Grace could knock Hartwell off the ringpost and cause a DQ.

Match Result: Elayna Black vs Indi Hartwell Ended In a Disqualification

After the match, Grace grabbed a mic and lamented that she was no longer Knockouts Champion. That brought out Director of Authority Santino Marella to confront his daughter. He threatened to ground her and called her a brat and Stacks, a stupid face.

Stacks poked Marella in the chest and he pulled the cobra out of his jacket, but Daria Rae came out to say that the whole thing was “embarrassing.” She said that if they want to fight they have to file the correct paperwork and get it approved by the board, proving once again that the paperwork is the hardest part of being a wrestler.

Back from break, the Elegance Brand was shown checking out how good they look. Just as they were talking about a potential Ash By Elegance return, the lights went out. When they came back on, a message from Rosemary and Allie was written on the mirror “See you soon.”

Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy vs Vincent w/ Dutch

So, Dutch and Jeff Hardy will be handcuffed to the ring posts during this match, leaving Matt and Vincent to continue the war between the two teams on their own.

Before The Hardys could enter, Vincent grabbed a mic and said they wanted the Broken Hardys, not Team Extreme. So that’s what he got. Wonderful!

Dutch and Jeff were handcuffed to the turnbuckles (on the same side of the ring which was weird) and we were off. Hardy threw some strikes then went right to biting. He tossed Vincent to the outside an stalked him around the ring.

Vincent went back in and tried a sliced bread, but Hardy countered it. Dutch then tripped Matt behind the ref’s back.

Back from a break, Matt and vincent traded shots in the middle of the ring before succumbing to a double clothesline. Matt bounced Vincent’s head off of six different turnbuckles and then hit a sit out powerbomb for a two count.

Vincent dodged a charge in the ring, but tweaked his ankle in the process. The ref checked on him while Vincent removed his boot. He then tried to use it as a weapon, but Matt countered by biting his foot.

Matt went to end it with a twist of fate, but Vincent countered and rolled him up. Dutch tried to assist, but it was only a two count. Vincent went up top and Matt met him there and bit his hand. Matt went for another twist of fate, but Vincent shoved him into the ref.

Vincent stole the handcuff key from the ref but the lights went out and when they came back on, Willow was standing behind him. Willow took Vincent down then disappeared, allowing Matt to hit a twist of fate a pick up the win.

Match Result: Matt Hardy defeated Vincent

Backstage, Aj Francis approached Elijah about a musical collaboration. Elijah shot him down and Francis said he would regret it.

Back from break, Santino announced that there would be two Champions Challenge matches next week, on mens and one knockouts. Daria Rae arrived to say that Stacks and Santino had been approved by the board for next week. Also, Eddie Edwards will face Fabian Aichner.

TNA International Championship Match: Mustafa Ali [c] vs Chazz “Starboy” Hall

Hall answered Ali’s open challenge and let us know that his nickname is “the Denim Dragon.” Neat. Hall is also a regular on NXT/Evolve. Also neat.

Ali had the veteran’s advantage and used it to keep Hall off his feet. Hall managed to get a rollup, but that just made Ali madder and he bounced his head off the turnbuckle. Hall came back with a chop and an armdrag, sending Ali out of the ring. He then flipped over the top rope to take him out on the outside.

John Skylar caused a distraction and Ali hit a cutter on Hall for a two count. Ali set Hall up on the top turnbuckle and went for a top rope Razor’s edge, but Hall countered it into a headscissor takedown.

Hall turned a moonsault into a really impressive tornado DDT, but Ali kicked out a two. Hall went for sliced bread but Ali countered it into a bridging cover to get the 1-2-3 and retain the title.

Match Result: Mustafa Ali defeated Chazz Hall

Back from break, Eric Young approached Steve Maclin and talked about how Maclin is becoming the man he’s always seen him as. Young said that whoever wins tonight, he’s next in line. Maclin stared straight ahead saying nothing.

Jada Stone vs Xia Brookside

Brookside took control off the top, driving Stone into the corner. Stone fought back with a side headlock takedown and Brookside left the ring to gather her thoughts. She avoided the countout and slapped a half crab on Stone who scrambled to the ropes to break the hold.

Stone matrix-avoided a lariat and hit a rolling elbow on Brookside in the corner. She went to go up top but Brookside caught her and dragged her down by the leg. Brookside worked Stone’s leg, wrapping it around the ropes and then dropkicking it.

Brookside started throwing hands and then went back to working Stone’s leg. Stone got a right hand shot in followed by a lariat. She went up and landed a split legged moonsault, but Brookside kicked out at two.

Brookside took over and hit a Dark Side driver to get a quick 1-2-3 and win the match.

Match Result: Xia Brookside defeated Jada Stone

Backstage, Mike Sanata was walking around and Steve Maclin tried to jump him, in spite of their match being next up.

Back from break, Stacks and Ariana Grace cut another promo about the match next week between Stacks and Santino. They think Stacks is going to win. So there’s that.

TNA World Championship Match: Mike Santana [c] vs Steve Maclin

Then, it was main event time. Santana entered throught the crowd as always and Maclin entered to what I believe was the N64 Wrestlemania 2000 Make-a-Wrestler theme, but I don’t actually know that.

The bell rang and they got right into throwing hands. They ran the ropes and Maclin knocked Santana down with a back elbow. Santana came back with a dropkick. Santana picked up the pace, hitting a senton and Maclin slipped to the outside. Santana followed him via the top turn buckle and landed on him.

Maclin fought back, hitting Santana’s head on the ring post. Maclin went under the ring and pulled out a table. Santana kicked him in the gut and bounced his head off said table. Maclin then hit a chop block on Santana, damaging the knee.

The fight moved back into the ring with Maclin wrapping Santana’s knee in the ropes then dropkicking him back to the outside.

Back from break, Santana had Maclin in a figure four, but Maclin grabbed the ropes to break the hold. Santana hit a three amigos suplex series, but Maclin dodged the last one and Santana kicked him in the face about it.

They got to their feet and traded strikes. Maclin clocked Santana in the back of the head and set up Santana in a tree of woe. Santana got out of it and hit a rolling buck fifty, but Maclin kicked out at two. Santana caught Maclin in a pop up power bomb then immediately hit a blue thunder bomb, but it wasn’t enough and Maclin kicked out.

Maclin hit an olympic slam followed by a driver bomb, but Santana kicked out at 2.5. Maclin pointed to that table he set up earlier and pulled Santana to the top turnbuckle. They fought for a second, but then Santana kicked Maclin off the ringpost and through the table.

Santana pulled Maclin back into the ring and hit a splash, but Maclin somehow kicked out at two. Santana called for spin the block, but Maclin collapsed before he could execute it. Maclin popped up and superkicked Santana, but could make the cover.

Maclin went for KIA but Santana countered with a Spin The Block. He made the cover and got the pin to retain the TNA World Title.

Match Result: Mike Santana defeated Steve Maclin

Next Week: Champions Challenge x2, Stacks vs Santino and Eddie Edwards and Fabian Eichner will also be there.

TNA Impact ratings up, still third-lowest viewership on AMC

Last week’s live edition of TNA Thursday Night Impact averaged 196,000 viewers on AMC, up 19.5 percent from the previous week. It was, however, the third-lowest audience total for the show since January 22.

In the 18-49 demo, Impact drew a 0.03 rating. That’s up 50 percent from the prior week but ties the second-lowest rating the show has done in that category since debuting on the network.

The show tied for 76th on the primetime cable charts in the key demo and was 85th in terms of total viewers. It went head-to-head with an NBA playoff game on TNT that topped the cable charts with a 0.36 rating and 1.485 million viewers.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of viewership numbers and 18-49 demo ratings for Impact, as well as the 10-week average in both categories. This week’s show was down 12.1 percent in viewers and 25 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.

Former Giovanni Vinci makes TNA Impact debut

Former WWE wrestler Giovanni Vinci has now officially made his TNA debut.

The Thursday, May 14 episode of TNA Impact saw the debut of the former WWE wrestler Giovanni Vinci, aka Fabian Aichner.

In the closing moments of the episode, after Cedric Alexander defeated Leon Slater and won the X-Division Championship, he was greeted with Vinci’s arrival.

While Alexander was busy celebrating his new championship and ending Slater’s reign of almost becoming the longest-reigning X-Division champion, Vinci interrupted him. The former WWE superstar arrived and set his sights on the new champion.

Vinci dropped his Giovanni Vinci name and appeared on TNA Impact as Fabian Aichner. He stood on stage and shared a staredown with the new champion as the show came to a close.

With the Ultimate X match coming up next month, Vinci could be a possible addition to that multi-man bout.

Who is Giovanni Vinci?

Giovanni Vinci, aka Fabian Aichner, is a former WWE wrestler. He has been a part of the WWE roster since 2017 until his release in 2025. Not wrestled since his dark match in WWE SmackDown in December 2024, Aichner has now arrived in TNA Wrestling.
