TNA Sacrifice notes: New matches for Rebellion, Havok, Taryn Terrell

With only two weeks between tonight’s Sacrifice event and April’s Rebellion pay per view, TNA had some work to do in putting a card together. They came out of Sacrifice with four matches announced for Rebellion.

The biggest of those matches will see the Hardys defending the World Tag Team Championships against Brian Myers and Bear Bronson of the System. This is the title match Myers won in the Feast or Fired match earlier this year.

The Righteous are likely to be involved in that match somehow. After weeks of drama, they finally turned on the Hardys at Sacrifice. Vincent teamed with Jeff Hardy on that show to face Myers & Cedric Alexander, but then a video showed Dutch standing over a bloody Matt Hardy backstage. The System then attacked Jeff and pinned him as Vincent looked on, doing nothing.

Also announced for Rebellion:

  • Alexander will challenge Leon Slater for the X Division Championship.
  • Elijah will face Frankie Kazarian one-on-one.
  • Trey Miguel will defend the International Championship against Mustafa Ali.

One would expect Mike Santana to defend the TNA World Championship on that show, but it’s not clear who would challenge him after the kerfuffle that ended Sacrifice. Steve Maclin might get another title match, but Eddie Edwards is also owed a championship match after Feast or Fired.

Other matches for Rebellion seem likely based on Sacrifice events. Special Agent Zero attacked Moose at Sacrifice, potentially setting up a battle between the big men. Taryn Terrell returned to TNA and joined ODB and Mickie James in challenging the Elegance Brand to a trios match, though it’s not clear whether that was for Impact or Rebellion.

Havok also returned at the show, appearing backstage and apparently attacking Mila Moore. Havok’s old partner Rosemary has been busy on Impact lately trying to allegedly revive Allie from the dead, perhaps setting up a trios match against Moore, Tessa Blanchard, and Victoria Crawford.

TNA Rebellion airs from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday, April 11. Tickets are available here.

TNA Impact live results: Final Resolution go-home show

On a week when TNA announced that Impact is heading to AMC in January, the promotion rolls on with a live episode ahead of Friday’s Final Resolution streaming special.

The TNA vs. NXT war continues as The Hardys, Steve Maclin and Cedric Alexander take on Lexis King, Stacks, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe.

Friday’s challenger for Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee will be decided in a number one contender’s match between Dani Luna and Xia Brookside.

Former TNA World Champion Mike Santana takes on NXT’s Robert Stone.

In a preview of a tag team match at Final Resolution, Mustafa Ali goes one-on-one with Trey Miguel.

Ahead of his X-Division title defense against AJ Francis Friday, Leon Slater will appear on a First Class Penthouse interview segment with his challenger.

The show is rounded out by another TNA vs. NXT match with Home Town Man vs. Brooks Jensen.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.

**********

Steve Maclin, The Hardy Boyz, Nic Nemeth and Mike Santana, Gail Kim (among others) werewalking around in the woods looking for a box with TNA on it. A cover of “In The Air Tonight plays” while Eddie Edwards and Moose walk the box into a barn. Frankie Kazarian took off his sunglasses; Ash by Elegance was there as well. The box is glowing, and when someone finally opened it, it’s a promo for the AMC debut on January 15th.

That was definitely a thing that happened.

Taped from Orlando, Florida.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

The Home Town Man v. Brooks Jensen (w/ Lexis King)

After weeks of getting jumped by the NXT wrestlers, Santino Marella is allowing the NXT wrestlers to complete in TNA. I’m not sure how that’s different from the original arrangement. The Home Town Man  choked Jensen against the ropes and pummeled him with fists. Homer got a near fall off a top rope crossbody. Jensen escaped a Home Town Slice and dropped Homer with a brain buster.

Jensen dropped Homer with a backbreaker for a near fall. Jensen missed a knee drop, but Homer fell back trying to slam Jensen. Homer finally took over with a flying clothesline and a bodyslam, then dropped the “Home Town Elbow.” Homer hit the Home Town Slice, then took out Lexis King with a dive to the floor. But when the Home Town Man got back in the ring, King tripped him up and Jensen caught him with a heel kick for the pinfall.

Match Result: Jensen pinned The Home Town Man (5:26)

(During the commercial on TNA+, they showed a clip of current TNA World Champion getting choked out by current AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe from 2011. Although Kazarian did wind up getting a rollup pin. Later on the showed AEW’s Christian Cage also beating on the current TNA World Champion.)

The Rascalz did a skit where they sit around in a cloud of smoke. They’re confused about their old names, their new names, and the name of their opponents Order 4.

The IInspiration IInteraction.

The IInspiration came out to celebrate their victory a month ago at Turning Point. Victoria Crawford and Tessa Blanchard interrupted to challenge the IInspiration for a title match at Final Resolution (which Hannifan had already announced would be happening, which was actually announced on the TNA social media platforms a week ago). This was a setup for Mila Moore to attack the IInspiration from behind, but despite the 3-on-2 odds, the IInspiration actually ran off the heels and stood tall.

— Santino Marella fired up the TNA troops in the main event later tonight.

— Clips from NXT highlighted Miles Borne getting the advantage in the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline.

Dani Luna v. Xia Brookside in a Number One Contenders Match for the Knockouts World Championship.

The winner gets a shot at the TNA Knockouts Champion Léi Yîng Lee tomorrow night.

Brookside worked over Luna with a headlock, but Luna easily powered out. Brookside had more success working on Luna’s arm. Brookside caught Luna with a rana out of the corner and a kick. Brookside avoided an elbow drop and caught Luna with a dropkick which sent her to the floor.

Brookside tried a baseball slide kick, but Luna avoided it. Back in the ring, Luna powered Brookside down with a backbreaker. Luna followed up with a forearm to the small of Brookside’s back. Luna stepped on Brookside’s chest to take the wind out of her, then went to work on Brookside’s leg.

Luna tossed Brookside to the mat and hit a sliding lariat for a near fall. Luna went back to attacking Brookside’s leg.

Luna whipped Brookside hard into the turnbuckles. Brookside started to mount a comeback with flying clotheslines, and took Luna down with a tijeras. Brookside hit a back elbow in the corner, then followed up with meteroa. Brookside hit a crossbody off the top for a near fall.

Brookside went for a surfboard, but Luna powered out. Brookside then tied Luna up in an Octopus hold. Luna powered out of that, too, but Brookside hit a Russian Legsweep and then transitioned into an armbar. Luna powered Brookside out of that an into a buckle bomb. Luna hit a slingshot blue thunder bomb for another near fall.

Luna dropped to the floor and pulled a steel chair and a steel chain out from under the ring. Luna slid the chair into the ring. While the ref was dealing with the chair, Indi Hartwell ran in and grabbed the chain from Luna. Hartwell clocked Luna with the chain. Luna got back in the ring and Brookside quickly wrapped her up in a small package for the pinfall.

Match Result: Xia Brookside defeated Dani Luna via pinfall (12:27 aired)

After the match, Léi Yîng Lee had words for her opponent.

TNA Injury Report:

  • Mike Santana’s arm is being monitored, but he is cleared!
  • Tessa Blanchard has been cleared for Final Resolution!
  • Indi Hartwell has cleared the concussion protocol!
  • Zachary Wentz and Desmond Xavier are not cleared to compete tonight due an attack in the parking lot by Order 4!

Robert Stone v. Mike Santana

Stone jumped Santana before the bell. They fought on the floor, and Stone sent Santana into the ringpost. Despite injuring his arm against the ringpost, Santana still hit the discus lariat and get the pinfall. Santana told Stone after the match to let the other NXT invaders know that “Papi’s home!”

Match Result: Mike Santana pinned Robert Stone (0:30)

Frankie Kazarian can’t believe the audacity of JDC challenging him for the TNA World Title. Kazarian will put an end to JDC’s “opening match, mid card existence.”

First Class Penthouse with guest Leon Slater

AJ Francis brings out Slater, who is only X Division champion because Rich Swann couldn’t get the job done (according to Francis). Slater is the soon-to-be former champion, since Francis is challenging Slater for the X Division title at Final Resolution. Francis got in Slater’s face, and Slater asked him to brush his teeth, which got a “Brush your teeth!” chant going. Slater thinks Rich Swann (who Francis has been belittling) deserves a little more respect since he’s a former TNA World Champion. Francis toasts his future as X Division champion, but gave Slater an empty glass since he’s “sixteen or something.” Predictably, things turn violent. Slater avoided a choke slam through the table, but did not avoid Francis throwing the table. Francis choked out Slater with his jacket and held him open for Swann to hit him with the title belt, but Swann refused. Francis shoved Swann down, then gave Slater a massive choke slam, and stood over Slater with the X Division title.

— The System are having trouble figuring out who will replace JDC.

— JDC responds to Frankie’s promo from earlier by asking how many WrestleManias Kazarian has been in. JDC will show Kazarian what a real star is at Final Resolution.

Mustafa Ali v. Trey Miguel in a match with everyone barred from ringside.

Ali caught Miguel coming off the middle ropes and tried to muscle him up, but Miguel went over his shoulders and took him down with a crucifix bomb. The match went to the floor. When Miguel tried to catch up to Ali by sliding under the bottom rope, Ali caught him with a draping DDT onto the floor.

In the ring, Miguel came back with a gamengiri. Ali caught Miguel with a vertical suplex, holding him up for a long time before dropping to the mat. Miguel avoided the rolling neckbreaker and caught Ali with a moonsault. Ali charge into an elbow, and Miguel came off the top with a shotgun dropkick.

Miguel caught Ali with a rana into a cradle for a near fall. Ali came back with a jawbreaker, Miguel sent Ali to the floor with a handspring kick, the followed him out with a spinning DDT on the floor. Back in the ring, Miguel came off the top with a meteora for a near fall.

Miguel caught Ali with a destroyer, but Ali bridged out of the pin attempt, then collapsed. Miguel went for the meteora off the top again, but Ali dodged it and Miguel drove his knees into the mat. Ali quickly locked in the sharpshooter, and Miguel tapped out.

Match Result: Mustafa Ali defeated Trey Miguel via submission (7:33)

Final Resolution Card:

  • Pre-show match: Cedric Alexander v. Eric Young
  • Mike Santana v. Charlie Dempsey
  • The IInspiration v. Tessa Blanchard & Victoria Crawford for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Title
  • Matt Cardona v. Mance Warner in a Street Fight
  • Order 4 v. The Rascals
  • The Hardys v. Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe for the TNA World Tag Team Titles
  • Léi Yîng Lee v. Xia Brookside for the TNA Knockouts World Title
  • Steve Maclin v. Stacks for the TNA International Title
  • Leon Slater v. AJ Francis for the TNA X Division Title
  • Frankie Kazarian v. JDC for the TNA World Title

Stacks, Lexis King, Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe (of NXT) vs. The Hardys, Cedric Alexander & Steve Maclin (of TNA)

While the Hardys entered the arena, Alexander and Maclin jumped the NXT guys who were already in the ring. The Hardys double-teamed Stacks for a near fall. Lexis King kept the Hardys from hitting Poetry in Montion and the match broke down again with all eight guys brawling. Stacks wound up surrounded by the entire TNA team and took a beating, then Alexander and Maclin tossed him over the top rope and onto his partners.

Maclin brought Stacks back into the ring, then hit him with a chop so hard it sent him back to the floor. Alexander got the tag and hit Stacks with another hard chop. Stacks got the tag to King, and Alexander chopped away at King, too. Alexander tried to go to the top, but Tyson Dupont shoved Alexander to the floor to get the advantage for the NXT team.

King tried some chops, but Alexander fired back with more chops. King popped him with a short right, and then tagged in Stacks for some double-team chops. The NXT team worked over Alexander in their corner.

King hip tossed Stacks into Alexander, who was slumped in the corner.  Alexander caught Stacks with a leg whip and got the tag to Maclin, who went after King. Maclin hit King with an Angle slam. King took out Stacks with a clothesline, then Dupont and Igwe, but King caught Maclin with a sliding dropkick. Dupont drove Maclin down to the mat with an uranage.

Jeff Hardy got the tag and fought King. He dumped King to the floor, then took out the entire NXT team with a body block off the apron. Jeff went to the top, but Stacks tripped him up. Igwe took out Alexander with a boot, and the match broke down. Matt hit Dupont with a side effect. King went for his finisher on Jeff, but Jeff countered into the Twist of Fate.

Stacks sprung to the top, but Jeff crotched him. Stacks hung upside down in the corner, and Jeff used Matt as a springboard to give Stacks a low blow. Tyson and Tyriek pulled the Hardys out to the floor for a brawl, and Alexander followed out with a dive. The ref tried to deals with the guys in the floor, so in the ring King clocked Maclin with his walking stick, of course the TNA guys lose the main event to the NXT guys.

Match Result: Team NXT beats Team TNA when Stacks pinned Maclin (14:24)

After the match, Santino came out to berate the TNA guys for being cheating cheaters.

Final Resolution feels thrown together, but I’d figure the next two months will just be marking time until the get onto AMC in January.

Big Vinny V: Live edition of Impact with Bound For Glory build

With their biggest show of the year only a month away, TNA has some work to do. So the live episode of Impact this week was dedicated to announcing and building matches for the big show.

That means we only got three matches—Matt Cardona vs. Frankie Kazarian, Jodi Threat vs. Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell, and the Hardys & Mara Sade vs. the Great Hands & Tasha Steelz—but those matches all got plenty of time in between all the promos, angles, and returns. We’ll get into it on the Big Vinny V Show!

Stipulation added to key match at TNA Bound for Glory

Note: The following is a spoiler for this Thursday’s TNA Impact.

For their final ever battle at October’s TNA Bound for Glory, The Hardys and Team 3D have raised the stakes.

First reported by ProWrestling.net’s Jason Powell via Wade Keller of PWTorch, the encounter between Matt & Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray & D-Von will not only be for the TNA World Tag Team titles but also a tables match.

The development occurred during Friday’s TV taping in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an in-ring segment billed as their “final negotiation.” Unlike when the match was first made at Slammiversary, D-Von was in attendance alongside Bully Ray.

It will be the first time the two teams have met since a House of Glory four-way in December 2016. Before that, the two teams feuded with The Wolves over the TNA tag titles in the fall of 2014. Their last straight-up tag match against each other took place in June of that same year. Their famed rivalry goes back to the fall of 1999 in WWE.

We are still looking for full results from the entire taping. Please send them to [email protected] if you were in attendance.

Current TNA Bound for Glory lineup | Sunday, October 12 | Lowell, MA

  • TNA World Champion Trick Williams defends against Mike Santana
  • TNA Knockouts World Champion (Ash by Elegance or Masha Slamovich) defends against Indi Hartwell
  • TNA Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy defend against Bully Ray and Devon in a tables match

BVV: TNA Impact with Hardys vs. Fir$t Cla$$

With Against All Odds over and Slammiversary still weeks away, TNA put out an episode of Impact that wasn’t too exciting.

The Hardys take on Fir$t Cla$$ in the main event in a match that failed to produce a challenger for the tag titles. The IInspiration have their first match in the company in several years. Trick Williams celebrates in the Fir$t Cla$$ penthouse. Jason Hotch battles Leon Slater in a match that needed more time, and the Knockouts division does a stupid 8-4-1 match to name a top contender, who ends up winning in an unconvincing fashion. We’ll try to make it entertaining on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

ROH TV taping results (Saturday): Hardys vs. Briscoes; 8-man Wild Card tag match

Submitted by reader Brian Reznick

> Hour 1:

– Opening Interview Segment

The taping opens with The Addiction coming to the ring. Already in the ring is something covered with a table cloth that Kazarian points out to Daniels. Daniels uncovers what turns out to be a martini glass and a shaker full of appletini. He drinks some and cuts a promo about becoming champion, and talks about the plan he came up with to trick the Bullet Club.

Dalton Castle comes out and says that it looks like Daniels and Kazarian were having a party and he wanted to attend. He offers and tries the appletini and appears to enjoy it. He congratulates Daniels on the title, but says that he doesn’t envy him because he’ll have to defend the title against Dalton Castle, a fate that Dalton wouldn’t wish on his worse enemy.

Adam Cole and the Young Bucks come out. Cole cuts a promo saying that Daniels and Kazarian screwed him out of the title. He said that Daniels didn’t deserve to be champion and that Dalton was a joke of a title contender. Kazarian then challenged Cole and the Bucks to a 6 man tag against the Addiction and Castle, which the Bullet Club accepted.

– Raymond Rowe def. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Smith hit him with a cheap shot to the leg right from the beginning and worked the leg for a few minutes. Rowe eventually made a comeback and won with the Death Rowe.

– ROH TV Champion Marty Scurll submitted Kenny King (w/Caprice Coleman) to retain

They did chain wrestling early with no one getting an edge until Scurll hit an eye poke. Scurll did all of his typical work: stomps on the elbow/hand, taunts, etc. King looked pretty good in the match and hit some good offense during a comeback. Scurll eventually worked to the finger break spot and chicken wing for the victory.

> Hour 2:

– Punishment Martinez def. Warbeard Hanson

Hanson was up on the top turnbuckle when DBS Jr. came out and distracted Hanson, allowing Martinez to hit his sit out chokeslam for the pin. After the match, Rowe came out and helped Hanson walk up the ramp.

– Bully Ray and the Briscoes def. The Kingdom (with Silas Young) to win the Trios tag titles

The Briscoes and Bully Ray won the titles via 3D. Bully was plenty verbal on the apron during the match, always yelling to his partners, telling them to watch out when someone is attacking from behind, to kick out, etc. Bully cut a great promo for the crowd after the cameras were off. He said that he had never won a 6 man tag title before and that it was an honor to say that he was on a team with the Briscoes. He put the Briscoes over more, put the crowd over, and just seemed really excited about being in ROH and teaming with the Briscoes.

> Hour 3:

– Chris Sabin def. Caprice Coleman

This was a relatively short match. At one point, Sabin was sitting on the turnbuckle and Coleman did a jumping huracanrana to pull Sabin off the buckle. Sabin won with the All Hail Sabin.

– Ropongi Vice def. Cheeseburger/Will Ferrara

This was a standard, good, fast-paced tv tag match. They set up the shotei for a good pop and broken up pinfall. RPG won with the footstomp/dropkick by Rocky into the Dudebuster. After the match, Ferrara wouldn’t shake hands, pushed Cheeseburger and stormed out of the ring.

– Eight-Man Wild Card Tag: Jay Lethal, Jay White, Silas Young, and Hangman Page def. Colt Cabana, Lio Rush, Bobby Fish, and Warbeard Hanso

It was explained that all eight wrestlers were drawn at random and assigned to a team.

There was a good comedy spot at the beginning where White and Cabana were going to start. Rush wanted to start, but Cabana ignored him until Hanson stepped in and then Cabana capitulated and got out of the ring.

The story of the first half of the match involved Young and Page tagging each other in and ignoring the two Jays, or tagging one of the Jays on the back when they were in. The slow portion of the match was Silas and Page working over Fish. Cabana was yelling at Fish the whole time and generally looked disgusted. The match began to break down into chaos with everyone hitting all of the moves.

At one point, Rush, Page, and Hanson were in the ring. Page got knocked down and Hanson told Rush to bodyslam him onto the downed Page. The crowd popped huge when Rush was able to get Hanson up and slam him down. The finish was Lethal getting the pin with the Lethal Injection. After the match, the two Jays celebrated while Page jawed at both of them and Silas repeatedly insisted on the ref raising his hand.

> Hour 4:

– ROH TV Tag Champions The Hardys def. The Briscoes to retain

The Hardys were announced as Jeff and Matt and had the same music as the PPV. They didn’t really play up with Broken Matt stuff, but Matt did say “wonderful” after a move. They also did the spot where they each had a Briscoe in the corner and took turns doing chops. Jeff was yelling “obsolete” with each chop.

Jeff did most of the work and looked very tired by the end. Briscoes were made to look really strong with Jay kicking out of a twist of fate/Swanton. Hardys won with Matt hitting a gutbuster on Jay and Jeff hitting the Twist of Fate on Mark and the double pin.

While the Hardys were celebrating in the ring, the Young Bucks came out. Matt Jackson told the Hardys that the Bucks wanted the ROH tag titles and the stolen Superkick titles back. He challenged the Hardys to put both sets of titles up and make the match in Lakeland, FL, a match the Hardys made famous: a ladder match.

Hardys looked at each other, looked at the crowd, and started doing the Daniel Bryan “yes” arm motion. It would appear that we have a ladder match (with possibly 4 belts hanging above the ring) in Lakeland.

– Dalton Castle and the Addiction def. Adam Cole and Young Bucks

Cole and Daniels started with Cole doing similar heel things as he did during the PPV match. He told Daniels that he wasn’t in his league. Dalton tagged in early and got some time with Cole. The Boys quickly became involved in the match. With the faces all outside the ring near the ramp, Cole and the Bucks set up the dive spot where Cole stays crouched in the center and the Bucks run the ropes while the crowd does the Terminator clapping.

The Boys pulled the Bucks out of the ring and replaced them to run the ropes. The Bucks pulled them back out of the ring as they ran the ropes and gave each Boy a superkick. The Bucks re-entered the ring, stood next to Cole (who remained crouched the whole time) and ran the ropes before doing the dives outside onto the faces. The faces were apparently quite shaken up before this spot, because they had to stand there while all of this happened. The Boys went to the back after this.

Match went into all of the high spots and ended when the Addiction took out the Bucks outside and Castle pinned Cole with the bangarang.

After the match, Cole cut a promo. He called the Bucks back into the ring and said he was disappointed and upset with them because they weren’t there for him last night or tonight. He said he still considered the Bucks to be friends, but that he was firing them from the Bullet Club. Bucks responded that Cole wasn’t the leader of the Bullet Club and couldn’t fire them. They said there was only one other person in The Elite, he was the leader of the Bullet Club, and his name was Kenny Omega.

TNA Impact Wrestling results: Delete or Decay

Previously on Impact: Last week on Impact, Bobby Lashley defeated Mike Bennett to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Moose refused to help Bennett win and knocked him out with a vicious clothesline after the match.

Tonight on Impact: In tonight’s main event, The Hardys will battle Decay at the Hardy compound in North Carolina in “Delete or Decay.” This match is similar to The Final Deletion spectacle from a few months ago.

Also, TNA president Billy Corgan makes a huge announcement, and there will be footage from a press conference featuring Ethan Carter III and Lashley.

Show Recap:

– Impact starts with Senor Benjamin reading a disclaimer in Spanish for tonight’s main event. Vanguard 1 informs us that no animals were harmed in the documentation of the invasion.

Next, we get an opera version of “Obsolete” while Senor Benjamin digs three graves for Decay. Broken Matt, Jeff, Reby, Maxel, and Benjamin will go to the zoo so they can get in touch with their instincts.

– In the Impact Zone, Mike Bennett and Knockouts Champion Maria make their way to the ring. Bennett fired Moose in a text message and said he can now focus on becoming TNA World Champion. Dixie Carter came out and announced that Moose will face Bennett at Bound for Glory. Moose came out and set Bennett up for the Go To Hell, but Maria distracted him and Bennett escaped.

In the back, Bennett and Maria demanded Dixie call off the match. Dixie says that if she calls it off, Bennett will be in breach of contract. Dixie stripped Maria of her power as leader of the Knockouts because she can’t be the division’s leader while being Knockouts Champion.

Gail Kim & Jade defeated Sienna & Allie

Sienna bullied Allie and wouldn’t tag her in. The finish came when Allie made a blind tag and accidently hit Sienna. Sienna hit Allie with the Silencer and left. Jade reluctantly pinned Allie to win the match.

After the match, Jade and Gail felt bad for Allie and helped her up.

– Jeremy Borash interviewed TNA president Billy Corgan. Corgan has a huge announcement that he says will change wrestling.

– We join The Hardy Family at the zoo. Matt got some valuable advice from the first President George Washington. It was actually a giraffe. Matt and George Washington the giraffe had incredible chemistry. Jeff and Matt sparred with “Smokin’ Joe Frazier,” which was a kangaroo. They legitimately sparred with the animal.

Next, Matt and Jeff watched a cage of monkeys hanging around. Matt claimed to be a spot monkey whisperer. He introduced the monkeys as DJ Z, Andrew Everett, and Mandrews. Matt called the last two monkeys, Nick and Matt, the Bucks of Youth.

Matt spoke to his pet tiger, Genghis Khan, who informed him that Decay were on their way to the Hardy compound.

Billy Corgan’s Huge Announcement

– Corgan came to the ring. He’s retiring the King of the Mountain title and announced the new TNA Grand Championship. Drew Galloway came out and said he should be champion. Corgan said it would be an evolution and a new type of match.

We got a video explaining the rules for the Grand Championship. Each match consists of three 3-minute rounds, and they can end by pinfall or submission. Each match will also have judges using a 10-point scoring system. If the match ends in a draw, its goes to the judges for a decision.

An 8-man single elimination tournament to determine the first Grand Champion will start tonight. The first champion will be crowned at Bound for Glory. Aron Rex came out and wanted to fight Galloway. Corgan informed them that both will be in the tournament to crown a new champion. Galloway’s first round match is next.

Drew Galloway defeated Braxton Sutter in the first round of the Grand Championship tournament

The judges were around ringside for the match. Josh Matthews explained that the judges are scoring based on aggressiveness, controlling the match, and physicality.

At the end of round one, the judges score it 10-9 in Galloway’s favor. Sutter gained the advantage at the end of round two and the judges gave him the round. Seconds later, Galloway made Sutter tap out in round three to win and advance in the Grand Championship tournament.

– During the break, Rockstar Spud attacked Sutter after his match.

– A man drove down a dark and lonely road listening to his favorite country song. He saw Rosemary walking in the distance. He pulled over and flirted with her, then Abyss and Crazzy Steve appeared and attacked. Decay drove away towards Cameron, NC. The man was left face down on the road with his pants pulled down to his ankles.

Bound for Glory press conference

The press conference took place earlier at the Impact Zone in front of a VIP audience. Corgan sat in between EC3 and Lashley at a table. Corgan said there are going to be changes under his new leadership.

Both EC3 and Lashley got a chance to speak their mind. They went face-to-face and eventually brawled all over the empty Impact Zone. They fought in the stands, in the entrance way for the fans, and outside in the back. Lashley threw EC3 into a pile of wood to end the brawl.

– In the back, Jade finds Allie crying alone. Allie feels she let Maria down and everything is all her fault. Jade is shocked and calls her crazy.

Eli Drake defeated Jesse Godderz in the first round of the Grand Championship tournament

At the end of the first round, two judges score it in the favor of Godderz. Drake survived round two, but the judges gave the round to Godderz as well. With less than a minute left, Drake hit the Blunt Force Trauma to pick up the win by pinfall. Drake advances in the Grand Championship tournament.

– Decay arrived at the Hardy compound.

Delete or Decay

There was no commentary during the match. Matt, Jeff, and Reby attacked Decay with fireworks. Matt sent Reby back to the house to protect Maxel. Decay hid behind the dilapidated boat. Abyss sent Rosemary and Steve to the house. Jeff dropkicked the boat and sent Abyss into the lake, and Joseph Parks emerged from it. Benjamin knocked him out, took him away, and tried to bury him.

Jeff fought Steve in a pool while Abyss returned and attacked Benjamin. Matt stalked Rosemary until Abyss showed up with Janice. Abyss went to hit Matt, but Jeff sacrificed himself and was hit by Janice instead. Abyss and Steve cornered Matt, but Vanguard 1 made the save setting the whole field on fire.

At the house, Reby was knocked out on the ground. Rosemary tried to escape with Maxel but Vanguard 1 stopped her. She spit the mist into Vanguard 1, sending it offline. Matt showed up and Rosemary spit the mist at him. Matt sucked the mist up and spit it into Rosemary’s face and she ran off. Maxel was reunited with his parents.

Senor Benjamin laid unconscious in the back of the truck. Crazzy Steve and Abyss abducted Benjamin and drove off.

Next week on Impact: Round one of the Grand Championship tournament continues when Aron Rex debuts against Trevor Lee, and Eddie Edwards faces off with Mahabali Shera. Also, the number one contender for Maria’s Knockouts title will be determined.
