Mike Santana vs. Steve Maclin match stopped during TNA Sacrifice

Steve Maclin appeared to be legitimately injured during the main event of TNA Sacrifice on Friday night.

Maclin was challenging Mike Santana for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Just a minute or two into the match, Maclin came off the ropes and Santana hit a superkick. Maclin went down stiffly and stayed down.

Santana attempted to pull Maclin up but was turned away by the referee. TNA President Carlos Silva and medical personnel spent several minutes tending to Maclin.

Eventually Eddie Edwards was sent out to brawl with Santana as Maclin was escorted from the ring. After a few minutes of action, Santana laid Edwards across a table on the floor, then put him through it with a splash off the top rope. Santana was then declared “the winner via no-contest,” and he celebrated in the ring as the show went off the air.

Maclin was wrestling for the world title just a few weeks after being fired in storyline, a result of picking the wrong briefcase in the Feast or Fired match. He kept appearing on the show, physically attacking not only Santana but also play-by-play man Tom Hannifan. As a result, TNA hired him back and gave him a World title match on their app special.

Edwards won a World title match in that same Feast or Fired match. Presumably, he will still get that match, and the results of tonight’s show won’t count.

Elsewhere on Sacrifce:

  • Leon Slater defeated Eric Young to retain the X Division Championship.
  • Frankie Kazarian & AJ Francis defeated Elijah and Home Town Man.
  • Tessa Blanchard won a three-way with Dani Luna and Lei Ying Lee to retain the Knockouts Championship.
  • Mustafa Ali & Tasha Steelz defeated Trey Miguel & Jada Stone.
  • Moose defeated Eddie Edwards by DQ after he was attacked by Order 4’s Special Agent Zero.
  • Brian Myers & Cedric Alexander defeated Jeff Hardy & Vincent after a video appeared on the screen showing Vincent’s tag team partner, Dutch, standing over a bloody Matt Hardy backstage.

TNA signs European star at Sacrifice

At Sacrifice tonight, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling announced the acquisition of a new talent.

TNA President Carlos Silva and Tommy Dreamer appeared on Friday’s show and brought out Chris Bey. Bey expressed how grateful he was to be standing in New Orleans, emphasizing the word “stand” after the neck injury he suffered last year. Bey then introduced Ricky Sosa, who led the crowd in some cheerleading and talked about working for five years to get there before signing his deal.

Sosa, a 6-foot-4 high-flyer, is a 21-year-old from the Netherlands. He made his debut in 2021 with Pro Wrestling Holland, going on to wrestle for Game Changer Wrestling in the United States and Westside Xtreme Wrestling in Germany. He won the wXw European Championship last December.

Earlier this year, he traded wins with Cappucino Jones, though he failed to win Jones’ WWE ID Championship and the WWE contract that comes with it. He was scheduled compete in wXw’s 16 Carat Gold Tournament earlier this month, but pulled out to appear at TNA’s tapings in Atlanta.

Sosa has been announced for the Immortal Clusterf*ck at Joey Janela’s Spring Break X in Las Vegas next month. It remains unknown whether or not he will still be appearing there.

Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana added to TNA Sacrifice

Rivals Mustafa Ali and Mike Santana are set to do battle later this month.

TNA Wrestling has added Ali vs. Santana to the card for Sacrifice 2025, which is taking place from El Paso, Texas on Friday, March 14. The show is a live TNA+ special.

Things have gotten personal with the heel Ali playing mind games with Santana on Impact in recent weeks. Santana — who is now two years sober — was attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in one segment when Ali interrupted it to prod him. Santana kept his cool, but Ali interrupted him again the following week with a video accusing Santana of falling off the wagon.

Ali plays a heel politician in TNA and is aligned with John Skyler, Jason Hotch & Tasha Steelz. Santana vs. Skyler is airing on TNA Impact this Thursday.

Santana is on a journey hoping to become TNA World Champion — a title that is held by Joe Hendry at the moment.

Here is the updated Sacrifice card:

  • TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich defends against Cora Jade
  • Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, Elijah, TBA & TBA vs. Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC, Epico Colon & Primo Colon
  • Ladder match: TNA X-Division Champion Moose defends against Jeff Hardy
  • Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana
  • Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee
  • Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont vs. Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel & Ace Austin
  • Street fight: Sami Callihan vs. Mance Warner
  • Nic Nemeth returns

Laredo Kid off TNA Sacrifice due to travel issues

TNA Wrestling has had to change up one of the matches planned for tonight’s Sacrifice event.

TNA announced this afternoon that, while Crazzy Steve vs. Laredo Kid for the Digital Media Championship was planned for the Sacrifice pre-show, that will no longer be happening. Laredo Kid is off Sacrifice due to travel issues. In his place, Joe Hendry will challenge for Crazzy Steve’s title.

“Laredo Kid is unable to compete at Sacrifice due to travel issues,” TNA announced. “He was meant to challenge Crazzy Steve for the Digital Media Championship on Countdown to Sacrifice, however Santino Marella has put the longest reigning Digital Media Champion, Joe Hendry, in his place against Crazzy Steve.”

Crazzy Steve has been Digital Media Champion since defeating Tommy Dreamer for the title this January.

Countdown to Sacrifice begins at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time and streams live for free on TNA+ and TNA’s YouTube channel. Mike Bailey & Trent Seven vs. The Rascalz is also set for the pre-show.

The Sacrifice main card begins at 8 p.m. Eastern. It will air on TNA+ and TNA’s Ultimate Insiders YouTube service.

Tag Team title match added to TNA Sacrifice

A Tag Team title match is the latest addition to the card for TNA Wrestling’s Sacrifice special.

Sacrifice is taking place from Windsor, Ontario, Canada next Friday (March 8). The show will air live on TNA+ and for subscribers to TNA’s Ultimate Insiders YouTube service.

It was announced today that TNA Tag Team Champions ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) will defend their titles against Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers at Sacrifice. The match was made official after Myers pinned Bey on this week’s Impact.

The main event of Thursday’s Impact episode was The System (Moose, Edwards & Myers) defeating Eric Young, Austin & Bey. Young is challenging Moose for the TNA World Championship at Sacrifice.

Austin & Bey are two-time TNA Tag Team Champions. Their current reign with the titles began at Bound for Glory last October.

Recently, ABC retained their belts against The Grizzled Young Veterans in a best-of-three series. The series ended with ABC winning 2-1 after Austin & Bey defeated The Grizzled Young Veterans at No Surrender.

Edwards & Myers picked up a victory over KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight on the No Surrender pre-show.

Here’s the updated card for Sacrifice:

  • TNA World Champion Moose defends against Eric Young
  • TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace defends against Tasha Steelz and Xia Brookside in a triple threat match
  • TNA Tag Team Champions ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) defend against Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers

X-Division title match added to Impact Wrestling Sacrifice

A new title match has been made official for March’s Impact Wrestling Sacrifice event.

X-Division Champion Trey Miguel will put his title on the line against Jake Something at Sacrifice on Saturday, March 5. The show is taking place at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. It will air live on Impact Plus and for subscribers to Impact’s Ultimate Insiders service on YouTube.

At No Surrender last weekend, Something became the number one contender to the X-Division Championship. He defeated Chris Bey, Ace Austin, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey in a four-way number one contender’s match.

Miguel defeated John Skyler in a non-title match on the pre-show for No Surrender. Miguel has been X-Division Champion since winning the title at Bound for Glory last October.

On Before The Impact this Thursday, Miguel & Something will team together in a match against Austin & Bailey.

Here’s the updated card for Sacrifice:

  • X-Division Champion Trey Miguel defends against Jake Something

Jay White to face Alex Shelley at Impact Wrestling Sacrifice

Bullet Club leader Jay White is set for action at Impact Wrestling’s next special event.

Impact Wrestling announced today that White will face Alex Shelley at Sacrifice on Saturday, March 5. The show will air live on Impact Plus and for subscribers of Impact’s Ultimate Insiders YouTube service.

White defeated Eric Young at Impact’s No Surrender event last Saturday. Later in the show, White betrayed Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa and caused them to lose a title match against Impact Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows.

Bullet Club members White, Anderson, Gallows, and Chris Bey stood united after Anderson & Gallows defeated Tonga & Loa.

White also made his AEW debut earlier this month and defeated Trent Beretta on last week’s episode of Rampage.

Shelley has previously been a mentor to White. In 2015, White’s NJPW debut was a singles match where he lost to Shelley.

Sacrifice will be the first time Shelley has wrestled for Impact since 2020. He had to miss Impact’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view in 2021 due to his job as a physical therapy clinician. Shelley noted that he couldn’t risk exposure to COVID-19 at that time.

White vs. Shelley is the first match that’s been announced for Sacrifice. The show is being held at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall in Louisville, Kentucky.

Updated lineup for Impact Wrestling Sacrifice

Both the TNA and Impact World titles will be on the line at Sacrifice this Saturday, March 13 on Impact Plus.

At the end of tonight’s Impact show, Scott D’Amore announced that Moose’s TNA title will also be on the line at Sacrifice, setting up a title unification match. D’Amore additionally said that the winner of the unification match would then move on to Impact’s next pay-per view event on April 24, Rebellion, to face AEW World champion Kenny Omega in another title unification match.

Since last year’s Rebellion, Moose has come out with the TNA World Heavyweight title and has spent most of the last year declaring himself champion, despite the title not being recognized in Impact Wrestling. Last month, D’Amore officially reactivated the title and ordered Moose to defend it against Jake Something on an episode of Impact.

Additionally, more matches have been added to Sacrifice, including Violent by Design (Joe Doering and Deaner) facing James Storm and Chris Sabin. The latter team confronted VBD on the way they were treating Deaner, which led to a beatdown.

Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers will face off in what is being called a ‘hold harmless’ match. Myers thought that would mean a no submission match, but D’Amore explained it was a match that had no rules.

Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe and Luster the Legend) challenged Decay (Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus) to a match following last week’s loss in an eight-man tag team match.

The current lineup for Sacrifice this Saturday includes:

  • Moose vs. Rich Swann for the Impact and TNA World Heavyweight titles
  • The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson) vs. FinJuice (David Finlay and Juice Robinson) for the Impact World Tag Team titles
  • Deonna Purrazzo vs. ODB for the Impact Knockouts title
  • Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz) vs. Jordynne Grace and Jazz for the Knockouts Tag Team titles
  • TJP vs. Ace Austin for the X-Division title
  • Violent By Design (Joe Doering and Deaner) vs. James Storm and Chris Sabin
  • Eddie Edwards vs. Brian Myers in a ‘hold harmless’ match
  • Reno Scum vs. Decay (Black Taurus and Crazzy Steve)
  • Tenille Dashwood and Caleb with a K vs. Havok and Nevaeh

Two title matches announced for Impact Sacrifice

Two title matches have been announced for Impact’s next Impact Plus special: Sacrifice on Saturday, March 13th.

In the main event, Rich Swann will defend his Impact World title against TNA World Champion Moose. The two had another confrontation on Tuesday’s show after Moose defeated Jake Something to retain the newly reinstated TNA title. Scott D’Amore came out after the two were separated and made the Impact title match for Sacrifice.

Moose earned the title show at January’s Genesis, willfully losing to Willie Mack in an “I Quit” match as Swann offered him the title shot if he would stop beating on Mack and quit. Because D’Amore reinstated the TNA title, it’s a possibility the match is eventually made into a title vs. title match.

The other title match announced was Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz) defending the Knockouts Tag Team titles against Jordynne Grace and Jazz. The latter team defeated Susan and Kimber Lee on Tuesday to earn the title shot.
