Buff Bagwell, Crazzy Steve make appearances on TNA Impact

Both former WCW star Buff Bagwell and former TNA Digital Media Champion Crazzy Steve made surprise appearances on Thursday’s TNA Impact.

From our Joseph Collins:

“Gia Miller interviewed Buff Bagwell in front of the live crowd. Buff thanked God for being with him every step of the way on his journey, which has included getting his leg amputated last year. Bagwell apologized for his behavior over the last twenty years, and promised that if the fans get behind him, he would walk to the ring and wrestle for TNA one more time.

Frankie Kazarian came out to mock Bagwell “walking” to the ring. Kazarian said Buff was “half the man he used to be” while Kazarian was “twice the man he ever was.” Elijah appeared to chase Kazarian off, and offered to walk down to the ring with Bagwell.”

Bagwell wrestled four times for TNA back in 2002, even appearing on their very first show.

The clip of Bagwell’s return can be viewed below.

Crazzy Steve’s return came during a filmed segment with Rosemary and Allie, seen below. It’s unknown if he has re-signed with TNA or if this was a one-off appearance.

Steve hadn’t appeared in TNA since April 2024, but has remained active on the indies since then in addition to a brief NWA run. He made his AEW debut in a January 2025 dark match, but never appeared in the company again.

AEW dark match & off-air notes from Knoxville: Crazzy Steve debuts

Here are some notes from Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite taping in Knoxville, Tennessee:

Crazzy Steve (Crazy Steve) debuted in a dark match

Former TNA wrestler Crazzy Steve (spelled “Crazy” on his entrance graphic) wrestled a pre-Dynamite dark match, getting pinned by Serpentico. He got a good reaction and also looked good as well.

After Dynamite went off the air:

Jay White extended his hand and introduced himself to Cope, saying, “We’ve never met. I’m Switchblade Jay White.” Cope said, “It may not look like it right now, but I’m the baddest motherf*cker in this place.”

“I don’t doubt that,” White responded, “To take down The Death Riders, we’re gonna need the baddest motherf*ckers in this place!” before he left.

Cope then told the crowd, “Knoxville, the last time I was here, I faced AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio. Tonight, I faced PAC and hot damn, it was hard, but I’m still standing. No matter what The Death Riders do, I’m always going to get back up.”

He promised next time he comes back he’ll be the AEW World Champion.

Tony Khan addresses the crowd:

After Cope went backstage, Tony Khan came out and said coming to Knoxville was a dream come true. He asked if anyone remembers Smoky Mountain Wrestling. “When I was a kid, that (Smoky Mountain Wrestling) was my absolute favorite wrestling to watch.” He promised it won’t be the last time.

Laredo Kid off TNA Sacrifice due to travel issues

TNA Wrestling has had to change up one of the matches planned for tonight’s Sacrifice event.

“Laredo Kid is unable to compete at Sacrifice due to travel issues,” TNA announced. “He was meant to challenge Crazzy Steve for the Digital Media Championship on Countdown to Sacrifice, however Santino Marella has put the longest reigning Digital Media Champion, Joe Hendry, in his place against Crazzy Steve.”

Crazzy Steve has been Digital Media Champion since defeating Tommy Dreamer for the title this January.

World & Knockouts titles among four championship changes at TNA Hard to Kill

On a night when Impact Wrestling officially rebranded to TNA Wrestling and set course on a new path, several title changes took place at Saturday’s Hard to Kill including their top two championships.

Moose became a two-time TNA World Champion with his win over Alex Shelley in the night’s main event while Jordynne Grace ended the 182-day run of Trinity as Knockouts Champion to begin her third reign with the gold.

It’s Moose’s first run with the top title since April 2022, ending Shelley’s 218-day reign. Moose earned the shot by gaining a briefcase containing a contract in last October’s Feast or Fired match at Bound for Glory.

After the match, the debuting Nic Nemeth (the former Dolph Ziggler in WWE) made his promotional debut and confronted Moose.

In the co-main event, Grace picked up the win over Trinity after hitting a deadlift German suplex, spinning backfist, and her Juggernaut Driver to get the victory.

It’s the third Knockouts title reign for Grace and her first since last January’s Hard to Kill when she lost the title to Mickie James in a title vs. career match.

This is expected to be the end for Trinity in TNA as both TNA and WWE officials expect her to return to WWE “sooner or later.

After a months-long feud, Crazzy Steve finally defeated Tommy Dreamer to win the Digital Media title in a no DQ match on the pre-show. Steve had won a title opportunity in the aforementioned Feast or Fired match but in their initial match in November, he won by DQ, leaving Dreamer with the title.

It’s Steve’s first title run of any kind since a Tag Team title run in 2016 with Abyss. Dreamer’s reign ends at 127 days and ten successful defenses.

The Knockouts Tag Team titles also changed hands as Decay (Havok & Rosemary) regained the gold by defeating MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly) in a match that was previously not announced.

With the win, Havok & Rosemary begin their third reign with the titles and their first since February of 2023 while MK Ultra’s reign ends at 182 days and four successful defenses.

Two champions did leave Hard to Kill with their reigns intact including TNA Tag Team Champions ABC and X-Division Chris Sabin who both retained in multi-person matches.

Digital Media title match official for Impact Bound for Glory fallout tapings

A new championship bout has been made official for Impact Wrestling’s post-Bound for Glory television tapings.

Impact Wrestling announced today that Tommy Dreamer will defend his Digital Media title against Crazzy Steve at the Bound for Glory fallout tapings. The tapings are being held in Cicero, Illinois on Sunday, October 22. That’s the day after Impact’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view.

Steve earned a Digital Media title shot via the briefcase he obtained in the Feast or Fired match at Impact 1000.

Steve attacked Dreamer with that briefcase on the September 28 episode of Impact. On the most recent edition of the show, there was an angle where Steve stabbed Dreamer with a fork.

Dreamer won the Digital Media title from Kenny King at Victory Road last month. That was a title vs. career match where Dreamer would have retired if he lost.

Here’s everything that’s been announced for the Bound for Glory fallout tapings so far:

  • Alex Shelley vs. Jonathan Gresham (will be an Impact World Championship match if Shelley retains at Bound for Glory)
  • Josh Alexander vs. Will Ospreay (will be an Impact World Championship match if Alexander wins the title from Shelley at Bound for Glory)
  • The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed) vs. Black Taurus, Laredo Kid & Juventud Guerrera
  • Digital Media Champion Tommy Dreamer defends against Crazzy Steve

New tag team match added to Impact Wrestling

A new tag team bout has been added to Thursday’s Impact Wrestling on AXS TV as The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch) will take on Decay (Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus).

There is no real backstory to the match other than both teams jostling in get into position for a future Tag Team title shot.

Skyler and Hotch will be looking for their first win in Impact as a team and are coming off a handicap match defeat to Frankie Kazarian several weeks ago. Conversely, Decay is in search of their first win since August of last year (0-4).

The match joins a lineup with two title matches already announced:

  • Impact World Champion Steve Maclin defends against Rhino
  • Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven (KiLynn King & Taylor Wilde) defend against Jordynne Grace & Deonna Purrazzo
  • Frankie Kazarian sit-down interview, part three
  • Nick Aldis vs. Sheldon Jean
  • Masha Slamovich vs. Killer Kelly
  • The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch) vs. Decay (Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus)

Black Taurus appears on Impact, joins Decay

Black Taurus appeared on tonight’s episode of Impact, joining Decay.

Taurus was introduced after XXXL (Acey Romero and Larry D), Kaleb with a K, and Tenille Dashwood came out, running down Decay (Rosemary and Crazzy Steve). Kaleb asked if any member of Decay would face him in a match tonight. Taurus answered the challenge and pinned Kaleb quickly with a spinning slam.

Later in the show, a six person tag match was made for No Surrender, with Rosemary, Steve, and Taurus teaming together to take on XXXL and Dashwood. That will take place this Saturday on Impact Plus.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Taurus had made appearances in MLW, PWG, and in Impact Wrestling during the promotion’s television tapings in Mexico.

Taurus has been a regular for AAA, appearing for the promotion off and on since 2012. The promotion hasn’t ran any events since TripleMania in December due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, they recently started taping shows this past weekend that will air on television through March.
