Jack Perry & Marko Stunt reunite at GCW Maniac

Jack Perry and Marko Stunt, aka The Jurassic Express, are reuniting.

On the April 4th edition of GCW Maniac, fans saw AEW National Champion Jack Perry emerge from the crowd and save his long-time ally Marko Stunt from KJ Orso.

As Orso attacked Stunt, Perry entered the ring through the crowd carrying a steel chair. He proceeded to help Stunt launch an attack on Orso using the chair.

Shortly after, it was announced that Stunt and Perry would be teaming up to face the duo of KJ Orso and Sam Stackhouse at Joey Janela’s Spring Break.

GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Horseshoe Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is scheduled to be on the same week as the upcoming WWE WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

GCW Spring Break will also feature Joey Janela in a match against Brodie Lee Jr. ECW legend Sandman will also have his final wrestling match at the same event, while AEW’s Rascalz have also been announced for the show.

GCW notes on Marko Stunt, Hayabusa

Marko Stunt is saying goodbye to pro wrestling.

It was announced on Sunday that the former AEW wrestler would be saying goodbye at GCW’s event on March 14 at the Showboat in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Stunt started wrestling in 2015 and by 2019, had joined AEW. He is best known for his run with Jack Perry and Luchasaurus as a member of Jurassic Express. He was released in 2022 but returned briefly two years later in a losing effort against Jack Perry, who had issued an open challenge for the TNT Championship on an episode of Collision. He retired from pro wrestling later that year, but returned a few months ago as an on-screen talent and mentor for Memphis Wrestling.

It was also announced that Hayabusa would be appearing at Joey Janela’s Spring Break X on April 17. This will be the second incarnation of the persona who has been wrestling in Pro Wrestling Zero1 for the last year.

Earlier in the weekend, it was revealed that The Sandman would be having his final match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break.

Former AEW wrestler announced as on-screen talent and mentor for Memphis Wrestling

Marko Stunt has a new role in wrestling.

Memphis Wrestling announced in a press release on Wednesday that Stunt has joined the promotion as both a mentor and on-screen talent, writing:

“Memphis Wrestling is proud to announce Marko Stunt is joining its roster in a full-time on-screen role. Marko Stunt is a hometown boy from the Memphis area whom gained worldwide popularity on All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Marko will bring his notoriety and unique skillset to our television program while also serving as a mentor and coach at the Memphis Wrestling WrestleCenter.
Dustin Starr, Owner and Host of Memphis Wrestling, knows the value Marko brings to the locker room and TV screen. ‘We are going to have so much fun with this. Welcome to the home team, Marko!’
Marko recently hinted at retirement from in-ring competition and announced a new career venture. Fans and wrestlers alike can anticipate what Marko’s role will be – whether it be inside or outside the squared circle.
Marko Stunt’s first appearance will be televised Saturday November 22nd on WMC Action News 5 Plus, WBBJ Jackson, THV11+ in Little Rock, Triller TV and YouTube.”

The former AEW wrestler retired from in-ring competition late last year on the advice of doctors. He revealed in a recent TikTok video that he’s currently working as a car salesman at Homer Skelton Ford in Mississippi.

Stunt’s final match took place on July 6, 2024, when he returned to AEW for one night and lost to his former Jurassic Express teammate, Jack Perry. He departed AEW in 2022 after his contract expired that spring but hadn’t wrestled for the promotion in eight months at the time. After his release, Stunt appeared for GCW, Black Label Pro, and several other independent promotions before largely stepping away from in-ring action in early 2023.

Memphis Wrestling’s press release is below:

Former AEW wrestler Marko Stunt now working as car salesman

Marko Stunt — a memorable character from the early days of AEW — has found a new career working as a car salesman.

This week, Stunt (real name Noah Nelms) got a lot of attention on TikTok for a video he made showcasing his new job. He’s become a salesman at the Homer Skelton Ford dealership in Mississippi after retiring from the ring in 2024.

Stunt told Busted Open Radio that he was working jobs like waiting tables before recently entering into this new career. A couple times per week, he’ll have people recognize him at the dealership from his time in AEW.

“I was actually just working little jobs to be real honest with you. I was actually waiting tables before I was doing this,” Stunt said. “Just to get by and everything. But I decided that’s not going to cut it for me.

“So I ended up just riding down the road and I didn’t actually know if they were hiring. But I went into Homer Skelton Ford, which is where I work now, and went and talked with the general manager. And he came from a restaurant background and succeeded. And so they liked that. They knew about me being in AEW at one point. They saw all that and how I deal with people. And just how I interact with them, really. And they ended up taking a chance on me.

“I’m still pretty new. This is my second month on the car floor selling cars. But I was number three for the whole month last month in my first month.”

Stunt, 29, made the decision to retire last year on the advice of doctors. He suffered from back and hip issues — which still cause him pain — and could have been paralyzed if he continued to wrestle and bumped wrong. Stunt has a 16-month-old daughter now and a family to provide for.

In AEW, Stunt was part of Jurassic Express with Jack Perry and Luchasaurus. His AEW contract was not renewed when it expired in 2022, though Stunt did return for one match in 2024. Stunt told Busted Open that, while he did not feel untouchable in AEW, he feels like he got too comfortable there and took the opportunity for granted. He continued to wrestle on the indies for promotions like GCW until his retirement.

Stunt named Perry, Luchasaurus, and Sammy Guevara as three friends from AEW that he will have for the rest of his life.

Marko Stunt announces retirement from professional wrestling

Marko Stunt is retiring from pro wrestling.

The former AEW wrestler announced on social media Friday that he will be stepping away from in-ring competition on the advice of his doctors.

“Accepting this reality has been one of the toughest moments of my career, but I know it is the right decision,” he wrote.

He thanked AEW, GCW, and GCW owner Brett Lauderdale in his statement for allowing him to wrestle on their platforms.

“Thank you for giving me the chance to showcase my abilities and share my passion with fans around the world,” he wrote in regards to AEW. “Being able to wrestle on national television was a dream I could hardly have imagined when I first stepped into this business, and it was AEW that made that dream come true. To everyone involved in AEW, from the production crew to the fellow wrestlers that became my family, thank you for believing in me and giving me a place to call home.”

Stunt also took time to thank the fans who supported him over the years, calling them “the heart and soul of this industry.”

“As I step away from the ring, I take with me memories and friendships that will last a lifetime,” he wrote in closing. “While I may be retiring from in-ring competition, wrestling will always be a part of who I am. I hope to continue contributing to this amazing industry in different ways and to stay connected with all of you who made this dream a reality. Thank you for everything.”

Stunt, 28, began wrestling in 2015 and made his AEW debut at the inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view. He eventually allied with Jack Perry and Luchasaurus, and together they were known as Jurassic Express. He was released from the company in 2022 but made a surprise appearance back in July where he lost to former friend Perry in a TNT title open challenge match.

Marko Stunt returns on AEW Collision to challenge TNT Champion Jack Perry

Years after they were part of Jurassic Express in the early days of AEW, Marko Stunt made his surprise return to the company during Saturday’s AEW Collision to answer TNT Champion Jack Perry’s open challenge.

Stunt, a Mississippi native and hometown favorite, hasn’t been in an AEW ring since September 2021. Stunt has wrestled for AEW in the Landers Center in Southaven before, headlining a trios match with Perry and Luchasaurus against Orange Cassidy & Best Friends on the one-year Dynamite anniversary show.

AEW chose not to renew his contract in March 2022 due to budget cuts and their roster size. He called a reference made to him just over a year later on Dynamite “kind of lame.”

Perry was in control for the majority of the match, lawn darting the smaller Stunt into the middle turnbuckle in one notable spot. Stunt did have his moments, showing no ring rust despite the fact he hasn’t wrestled in 18 months. In the end, Perry picked up the win after a running knee.

The 28-year-old’s last match prior to Saturday was a January 2023 loss in GCW. In February 2023, he said he suffered both a fractured and rotated vertebrae which doctors were trying to help him figure out.

It was Perry’s first title defense since winning it in a ladder match at last Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

Marko Stunt says AEW using his name on Dynamite was ‘kind of lame’

Marko Stunt felt it was “kind of lame” when his name was mentioned on AEW programming recently.

On the June 22 edition of Dynamite, Luchasaurus came out to confront Christian, who had turned on Jungle Boy the week prior. Christian told Luchasaurus to “remember what happened to Marko” and said they need to talk. The following week, Christian was in Luchasaurus’ corner as he defeated Serpentico.

During an interview with NBC Sports Boston, Stunt was asked how he felt about his name being used in the context that it was on the show.

“I was not aware that it was going to be said or anything,” Stunt responded.

“For them to do it in that context, I thought it’s kind of lame. I mean, it makes sense though in a way. I was a part of that group before him and what he’s basically saying is he came in and got me fired. So, in a story sense, love it, in a real-life sense, hey, it is what it is, I guess.”

Stunt was then asked if he felt as though Christian really did come in and steal his spot in Jurassic Express.

“I don’t think that he necessarily took my spot because we are two completely different roles, for sure. I was more of a hype guy and he was more of a leader role, like, here I’ve been here, done this, let me show you how to get to the top type of role. I think that was cool, I think that was a cool concept but I did not think that he fit with the group at all. I didn’t think he added any sort of dynamic, really.”

Stunt continued to say that he knew from the beginning that the company was going to set up Jungle Boy for a big push.

“They’re setting up Jack to do great things, they’re setting him up to have this great push right now and great things and I’ve known that he was going to do that from the start. He’s one of my best friends that I made there,” he said.

“Christian wanted to work with Jungle Boy and that was his way in. It just so happened to push me out of the way and gradually wean me out,” Stunt continued.

Christian Cage and Luchasaurus are scheduled to appear on Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

Report: AEW not renewing Marko Stunt’s contract due to budget cuts, roster size

AEW has officially told Marko Stunt that they will not be renewing his contract, according to a report.

Fightful reports that Stunt was informed by AEW executive vice president of talent relations Christopher Daniels in a phone call last week that the company would not be renewing his contract when it expires, reportedly in May.

The report says that Daniels cited “budget cuts” and AEW’s large roster size as reasons that the company would not be renewing Stunt’s deal. Stunt was also reportedly told that plans had changed for Jurassic Express, the trio that he, Jungle Boy, and Luchasaurus had comprised.

Stunt reportedly contacted AEW and asked to be booked in order to earn a chance to have his deal renewed, but was not offered that chance. Rather, the report states, Stunt’s AEW booking stopped without any reason or explanation being given prior to the call from Daniels.

Also outlined in the report is a concussion that Stunt suffered in October, which would not have taken place in AEW, as the only match Stunt wrestled that month was in GCW, according to Cagematch.

Marko Stunt one of ‘numerous’ AEW contracts reportedly set to come up in May

The deal for one-time Jurassic Express member Marko Stunt is one of “numerous” AEW contracts that are reportedly set to come up this May.

Fightful first reported the news.

The 25-year-old Stunt (pictured above) hasn’t been on AEW TV since a late-September 2021 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation as he and Fuego Del Sol lost to Shawn Spears and Wardlow.

Fightful reported Stunt hasn’t been backstage in months and there are no creative plans that have been mentioned for him. They also noted he has not been included in any Jurassic Express merchandise as of late.

He announced in July 2019 that he was signed to a deal.

Fightful didn’t mention what other deals are coming up for either a renewal or expiration, but Joey Janela is one of them as he said himself in a recent interview with Denise Salcedo.

In that interview, Janela mentioned Stunt by name, saying the two of them hadn’t been communicated with and that AEW “just stopped talking to Stunt.”

Stunt has only wrestled four matches since the aforementioned Elevation bout, two of which were for GCW.

A number of matches and one segment has been announced for next week’s episode of Dynamite.

Orange Cassidy will face Fenix in a singles match. The latter attacked Orange Cassidy tonight with a flying kick during a Best Friends vs. Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy match.  Meanwhile, MJF will face Marko Stunt in a singles match. After defeating Lee Johnson on tonight’s show, MJF said Stunt had an open match contract, and he signed it. Wardlow and MJF also interfered in the Best Friends/Jurassic Express match, with Wardlow laying out Stunt and MJF attacking Jungle Boy.

Matt Hardy will face Sammy Guevara in a battle of The Elite vs. The Inner Circle. Hardy laid out Guevara, who was wearing a neckbrace, with a twist of fate on tonight’s show.

Jon Moxley will battle The Dark Order’s 10, who in recent weeks has been seen by the side of Mr. Brodie Lee.

Finally, a face-to-face confrontation will take place between Lance Archer’s manager Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Cody’s “head coach” Arn Anderson. The feud between their clients has heated up in recent weeks, with Cody and Archer coming to blows in the opening segment of tonight’s Dynamite.

AEW Dark spoilers: The Dark Order vs. Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt

Here are spoilers from tonight’s Dynamite tapings in Huntsville, Alabama that will air next week as part of AEW Dark:
