Kip Sabian & The Dark Order sign new AEW contracts

Kip Sabian and The Dark Order have all recently signed new multi-year contracts with AEW.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Kip Sabian and Dark Order members Evil Uno, John Silver & Alex Reynolds have signed new AEW deals. They’ve each signed three-year contracts.

Evil Uno and Sabian first revealed the news of the new contracts on social media earlier this week.

Sabian and the three Dark Order members all made their AEW debuts in 2019, the first year the promotion was in existence.

Sabian will be in action on tonight’s episode of Rampage. He’s teaming with The Butcher & The Blade against Keith Lee & The Hardys.

On last Friday’s Rampage, Sabian lost a singles match to Komander.

Evil Uno, Silver & Reynolds defeated Stu Grayson, Vincent & Dutch in a Fight Without Honor at ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view last month. The Dark Order were also recently victorious against Hangman Page & The Young Bucks on the 100th episode of Rampage.

It was announced this Wednesday that Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Page have all signed new multi-year AEW deals.

Dark Order advance in AEW Trios title tournament

Dark Order advanced to the AEW Trios Championship tournament semifinals on Friday’s Rampage, picking up a win over House of Black.

The finish of the match came when Miro came out, distracting Brody King and Buddy Matthews who went out to attack. Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds then used the distraction to roll up Malakai Black for the win.

After the match, House of Black jumped Miro and were beating him down when Sting and Darby Allin came down for the save, potentially setting up their own trios match for All Out.

With their win, Dark Order move on to next Friday’s live Rampage, taking on Best Friends in the semifinals.

The winner of that match will face either United Empire (Will Ospreay & Aussie Open) or The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks). Those two teams will meet on Dynamite with one going to the finals, set for Sunday, September 3rd at All Out.

  • This then led to the Dark Order breaking into a song and dance routine about how a team of four makes the perfect trio.
  • As the song finishes up, Hangman wonders aloud if he’ll form a trio with the Young Bucks or be in the Dark Order’s corner at ringside.

  • Uno said those that left are still “Dark Order forever.”
  • They reminisced about some of the good times the had together but John Silver seemed to confuse their history with the events from a Harry Potter movie. He revealed this was because he fell asleep watching Harry Potter the night before.
  • Anna misses Stu because now she doesn’t have anyone to beat up.
  • Hangman Page then walked into the shot.
  • Hangman told them that they shouldn’t feel bad because those guys are still their friends and will always have their back. Hangman also said he’ll always have their back too.

  • Hangman then left and The Dark Order decided it was a new era for them.

Evil Uno comments on Stu Grayson’s AEW departure

Evil Uno has opened up regarding Stu Grayson’s departure from AEW.

Speaking to NBC Sports Boston, Uno says that it’s “a little weird” not having Grayson in the company but is confident he’ll do great wherever he ends up next.

“It’s a little weird. He’s my friend so I have an understanding of what he was going through, it’s not like it took me by surprise,” Uno said. “This was a mutual decision. He wanted something out of his contract and they did not have that for him and he wasn’t going to continue if it wasn’t for that and he was fine walking away and he’s not upset in any way.”

“I still see him. We run a wrestling school back in Canada and we still see each other once or twice a week,” he continued.

Regarding no longer having his long time partner by his side, Uno is confident he’ll do fine without him in AEW and also knows that Grayson will do well wherever he ends up next.

“I’m pretty confident I’ll do okay and I’m sure Stu, wherever he does land, will do fantastic as well because he’s truthfully one of the best wrestlers, probably, in the world and I think most people are just unaware of it.”

Stu Grayson’s AEW contract expires, unable to come to terms on new deal

Update – It has been confirmed that Stu Grayson has departed AEW after his contract expired.

“Regarding Stu Grayson and AEW, his contract [has] expired and both sides could not agree to a money figure on a new deal,” Dave Meltzer Tweeted.

“Grayson wasn’t being pushed but inside the ring he was one of those unheralded guys who was great at timing, technical work and a highly underrated flyer.”

Original —

The Dark Order’s Stu Grayson has been removed from the AEW roster page and it is believed his contract has expired.

The 33-year-old’s contractual status with the company was addressed by our own Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio

“He was removed from the roster page and the story that I’m getting is that his contract expired, which is the same as Marko Stunt, Joey Janela, and Jack Evans, whose names were removed from the roster page because their contracts expired,” Meltzer said.

“The only word going around was that they failed to come to terms to a new agreement. I don’t know if that means that they’re still talking or it was one of the decisions made not to renew him.”

Along with Evil Uno, Grayson debuted at Double or Nothing in 2019. Before signing with AEW, the duo were known as the Super Smash Bros and won championships in PWG, Chikara, and other promotions.

“He wasn’t a guy who got over great but as a technical wrestler I thought he was really, really good,” Meltzer continued.

Adam Cole vs. John Silver set for next week’s AEW Rampage

Two new matches have been announced for next Friday’s AEW Rampage as John Silver will take on Adam Cole and The Bunny will face Red Velvet in a TBS title tournament match.

The Elite and The Dark Order have rekindled their feud in recent weeks with The Dark Order picking up a win over The Elite this week on Dynamite in an eight-man tag match.

In recent weeks on Being the Elite, Silver has suggested to Cole that he stop wrestling, change his name and cut his hair, jokingly referring to reports prior to Cole leaving WWE that Vince McMahon wanted to do just that in regards to a potential call-up to the main roster. Silver has given Cole the nickname “Budge” much to Cole’s chagrin.

The Bunny vs. Velvet match is the last of the opening round TBS title tournament matches. The winner will move on to face Jade Cargill (who got a bye) in the second round.

Trios match, Inner Circle reunion announced for AEW Dynamite

A new match, a segment, and a special guest commentator have been added to tonight’s Dynamite.

A trios match between The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver) and the Superkliq (The Young Bucks and Adam Cole) has been added to tonight’s show in Miami. This follows events from last night’s Rampage, where Silver issued the challenge to the Superkliq.

Chris Jericho on Instagram announced that the Inner Circle would reunite on tonight’s show. Although Jericho has teamed with his stablemates in recent weeks, it will be the first time the entire Inner Circle has come together since the conclusion of their feud against The Pinnacle.

AEW also announced on social media this morning that CM Punk would be part of tonight’s commentary team. This follows his appearance on AEW Rampage last night, where he defeated Matt Sydal in a singles match.

The lineup so far for AEW Dynamite tonight includes:

  • Bryan Danielson vs. Bobby Fish
  • Jon Moxley vs. Wheeler Yuta
  • Penta El 0 M and Rey Fenix vs. A mystery team that are close friends with Andrade El Idolo for the AAA Tag Team titles
  • The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver) vs. the Superkliq (The Young Bucks and Adam Cole)
  • Malakai Black vs. Dante Martin
  • Penelope Ford vs. Kiera Hogan
  • Hangman Page speaks following Casino Ladder Match win
  • The Inner Circle reunites

The Elite to face Page & Dark Order in 10-man elimination match

A ten-man elimination tag match was accepted by Hangman Page and The Dark Order on tonight’s Dynamite, with major ramifications for Page if he wins or loses.

On tonight’s Dynamite, Hangman Page came out and told Tony Schiavone that he wanted an AEW World title match against Omega. This brought out Omega and the rest of the Elite. Omega said he would do him one better, he would make an elimination match with himself and members of the Elite, which include the Young Bucks and the Good Brothers, against Page and The Dark Order. Hangman agreed, but said he wanted Omega for the title if he won.

Omega then said he wanted something in return — if Page lost, he would not be able to challenge for the AEW World title. He agreed, setting up the match. It wasn’t said when the match would take place.

In recent weeks, the Dark Order have been telling Page that he should be the one to challenge for the AEW World title next. Page at first seemed uninterested, but did confront Omega last week when he made the save for the Dark Order from Omega and the rest of the Elite.

TNT title match announced for AEW Dynamite

A TNT Championship match will take place this week on Dynamite.

Darby Allin will defend the championship against Preston “10” Vance of the Dark Order. The match was made after Allin called him out on Twitter.

“The last time I stepped foot in the ring with a dark order member I beat Jon Silver After he dislocated shoulder that’s not a win I’ll accept,” Allin wrote. “@Pres10Vance Brodie handpicked you as his protege If you ain’t doing s*** Wednesday you know what this means…..@AEW @AEWonTNT”

After 10 accepted the match on social media, AEW confirmed on their account that the match had been made for this Wednesday. This would be the third week in a row there will be a TNT title match on Dynamite, as Allin has successfully defended the title against Matt Hardy and Jungle Boy.

The rest of the lineup for this week’s AEW Dynamite includes:

  • AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks vs. The Sydal Brothers in a title eliminator match
  • Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Orange Cassidy
  • Brian Cage vs. Hangman Page
  • Kris Statlander vs. Penelope Ford

Hangman Page vs. Max Caster announced for AEW Dynamite

A match between Max Caster and Hangman Page has been added to this week’s Dynamite.

AEW announced the new match on their social media after Caster defeated Colt Cabana this week on AEW Dark: Elevation.

“After @PlatinumMax Caster’s win on Elevation, taking him to 7-1 with 3 straight wins over Dark Order members (10, Reynolds, Colt), AEW GM @TonyKhan has granted Caster’s request for a bout on #AEWDynamite this week vs. AEW’s #1 ranked wrestler + friend of #DarkOrder, #HangmanPage!” their post read.

Caster, who is a part of the tag team The Acclaimed, has been wrestling as a singles wrestler since his tag team partner Anthony Bowens has been sidelined with a knee injury.

Also announced for this week’s AEW Dynamite:

  • Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers vs. Jon Moxley and The Young Bucks
  • Darby Allin vs. JD Drake for the TNT title
  • The Inner Circle officially returns following last week’s bloody brawl with The Pinnacle

Erick Rowan appears on AEW Dynamite Brodie Lee tribute show

Erick Rowan appeared tonight on AEW Dynamite’s Brodie Lee tribute show.

He appeared towards the end of a six-man tag team match which pitted Alex Reynolds & John Silver of The Dark Order and Hangman Page against MJF, Santana, and Ortiz of the Inner Circle. Wardlow, who was at ringside, attacked Reynolds as he was making the save for his partner Silver. It was at that moment that Rowan came in and attacked Wardlow, sending him to the back. Rowan was identified both by his WWE name and the name he has been using outside of WWE, Erick RedBeard.

Reynolds, Silver, and Page made a comeback, but MJF put Ortiz’s foot on the ropes as he was being pinned. MJF then pulled the mask off of -1 (Brodie Huber) at ringside. -1 responded by hitting MJF with a kendo stick. Silver then pinned Ortiz with a discus forearm.

After the match, Rowan returned to the ring and helped an emotional Reynolds and Silver back to their feet. He held a sign that said “Goodbye for now, my brother. See you down the road” as they embraced.

Rowan and Lee, under the name Luke Harper, teamed regularly in NXT and later on the main WWE roster as part of the Wyatt Family. They also had a separate run as a team away from Bray Wyatt, repackaged under the team name The Bludgeon Brothers.

Brodie Lee revealed as The Exalted One on AEW Dynamite

The Exalted One’s identity has been revealed.

Brodie Lee, the former Luke Harper, made his AEW debut tonight by revealing himself as The Exalted One, the leader of the Dark Order.

Evil Uno and Stu Grayson were in the ring talking about The Exalted One when Christopher Daniels, who was in the crowd, confronted the duo. He claimed that Evil Uno was just making things up and denied that there was an Exalted One.

A video then showed The Exalted One telling Daniels to shut up, that he was not the first out of touch old man to underestimate him, but he would be the last. He then revealed himself as Brodie Lee. He and The Dark Order then attacked Daniels from behind as the video ended, with Lee laying out Daniels to end the segment.

This would mark the first appearance of Lee since his WWE release was granted on December 8. He originally asked for his release in April of last year, but WWE denied the request. He returned to WWE briefly last fall, taking part in a tag match with partner Erik Rowan. His last WWE match was participating in a battle royal at Crown Jewel on October 31.
