Darby Allin World title defense, Double Jeopardy match set for next AEW Dynamite

AEW World Champion Darby Allin will defend his title for the third straight week as part of next week’s three-hour combo edition of Dynamite & Collision.

Allin will defend against reigning TNT Champion Kevin Knight after telling him Wednesday that if he successfully defended his World title against Brody King, Knight would get the next shot.

Knight defended his own title against MJF in the opener while Allin defeated King, making the save for Knight after he was jumped by MJF.

The two have wrestled just once before with Knight picking up the November win as part of last year’s Continental Classic. Knight will defend his title against Hook on this Saturday’s Collision.

In a Double Jeopardy match, Dax Harwood will take on Orange Cassidy for the first time ever. If Harwood wins, FTR and Tommaso Ciampa earn a future AEW Trios title match where if Cassidy wins, The Conglomeration earn a future AEW World Tag Team match.

The Dogs vs. Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin announced for Dynamite

Dynamite is almost 48 hours away and we already have a near-full card being advertised.

The latest announcement: Darby Allin will team with Orange Cassidy to face Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd, the tag team now known as the Dogs. AEW CEO Tony Khan announced the tag team match on social media.

The rivalry between the four men grew out of Kidd’s association with the Death Riders while they were feuding with Allin, among others. Allin defeated Kidd at AEW Worlds End last December, which seemed to put an end to that program.

Connors, however, returned to AEW in January teaming with Kidd, his stablemate from the Unbound Co. faction in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Cassidy, another former Death Riders enemy, has also been drawn into the war; he teamed with Tomohiro Ishii to defeat the Dogs on the February 18 episode of Collision.

This is the second match for Dynamite announced on Monday night after Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero. The card thus far:

  • MJF vs. Kevin Knight for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship
  • Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero
  • Thekla vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy vs. Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors

AEW reveals matches for House Rules in Brisbane, Australia

While the show won’t be televised, AEW revealed the first two matches for this Sunday’s House Rules in Brisbane, Australia, during Wednesday’s Dynamite.

The show will return to the scene of last year’s Grand Slam Australia event at the Brisbane Entertainment Center while this year’s Grand Slam emanates from Sydney on Saturday.

In a mixed tag team match, AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will team with Marina Shafir against Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm. Shafir, Cassidy and Storm will compete in a tag team match Saturday (along with Wheeler Yuta) where the person that takes the losing fall has to shave their head.

Sunday will see the in-ring debut of the newly-formed Brawling Birds of Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor who formally revealed their team name this past Saturday.

Those are the only two matches announced thus far. The marketing image above also features MJF, Willow Nightingale, Kyle Fletcher, Hangman Page, Mark Briscoe, and Harley Cameron.

It has not been announced if the show will air on YouTube or the HBO Max archives at some point.

AEW star picks Bad Bunny when asked who from WWE he’d like to wrestle

Orange Cassidy says Bad Bunny’s cool.

During an appearance on SiriusXM Sports on Sunday, Cassidy was asked who he would like to face if the “forbidden door” between WWE and AEW were to open.

Cassidy responded:

“If there was a Forbidden Door between WWE and AEW, the person I would want to have a match with is probably… Yeah, I’d like to get in there with Bad Bunny. Why not? Bad Bunny’s cool.”

The Puerto Rican recording star has been the subject of discussion in wrestling and football circles in recent weeks. Bad Bunny is set to be the featured performer in this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show and also received several awards at last month’s Grammy Awards.

Bad Bunny’s status with WWE has also been addressed recently by Bryan Alvarez. While discussing U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego calling for AEW to sign Bad Bunny, Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that Bad Bunny is expected to return to WWE “sooner rather than later.”

Hair vs. hair match set for AEW Grand Slam Australia

A very rare match has been signed for AEW Grand Slam Australia following the events of Saturday’s AEW Collision.

Orange Cassidy and Toni Storm picked up a quick squash match victory and were attacked by Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir of the Death Riders afterward as their rivalry continued. Yuta then produced a pair of scissors and threatened to cut Cassidy’s hair as a measure of revenge for a comment Cassidy made this week.

Storm, however, made the save before that could happen. She then issued a challenge for February’s return to Australia where she and Cassidy would face Yuta and Shafir in a hair vs. hair match.

It was later confirmed that the loser of the fall will get their head shaved and not both members, and that the match will be a tornado tag match.

AEW Dark Stocking Stuffer live results: Death Riders in trios action

For the first time since April 2023, AEW Dark returns for one night only.

Taped this past Saturday in Cardiff, Wales, tonight’s YouTube-only show features three matches — two of which include the Death Riders.

Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley teams with Wheeler Yuta and PAC against the Grizzled Young Veterans & wrestler/coach Nathan Cruz.

Another trios bout will see Orange Cassidy team with fellow Continental Classic wrestlers Mascara Dorada and Roderick Strong against Mark Andrews, Kid Lykos 1 and Kid Lykos 2.

The show is rounded out by Marina Shafir vs. Isla Dawn.

Our coverage kicks off at 7 pm Eastern.

**********

AEW Dark: Stocking Stuffer is on the air, as Excalibur welcomes us with Taz, who we’re told gassed up the jet to come to Cardiff to do this show. If only Ruby Soho was wrestling on this card and we could get a proper return of Remix Jones and Taz serenading us all.

Marina Shafir vs. Isla Dawn

(I sure have missed Excalibur & Taz’s shenanigans on Dark. Despite this only being a 3-match show tonight, you can tell this Cardiff crowd is going to be a lot of fun with the chants. Dawn had a lot of support and put of a valiant fight, but Shafir was simply too much to handle.)

During Shafir’s entrance, Excalibur informed us they were ducking under the desk, thus why we couldn’t see them (as they’re in no way recording from studio), as Taz tells us he’s also taking off his socks in solidarity of Shafir and channeling his Tazmaniac days. Cardiff crowd sings for Dawn at the opening bell, while a test of strength sees Shafir get multiple sweeps before working a headlock. Dawn tries a drop down, but Shafir rolled out into a punt kick to the back. Dawn battled back with kicks, which Shafir no sold, daring Dawn to bring it, which she did, with a Fisherman’s Suplex.

Tiger Feint Head Scissors drove Dawn’s head into the apron, as after the fight briefly went outside, we return inside with Shafir locking in a Bow and Arrow. Dawn spun out into a low dropkick and corner knee, but Shafir avoided a suplex into a throw. Dawn fired off a roundhouse kick and backdrop suplex for a near fall. Dawn got a jawbreaker, but Shafir grabbed wrist control, hit a lariat and pulled Dawn into Mother’s Milk for the quick submission.

Match Result: Marina Shafir submitted Isla Dawn

Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong & Mascara Dorada vs. Mark Andrews, Kid Lykos I & Kid Lykos II

(I know Strong doesn’t want to be part of The Conglomeration and only teams with them because of Kyle O’Reilly, but O’Reilly is hurt, so this partnership is more confusing than usual. Regardless, whether he likes Cassidy or not, they do team pretty well, as I wish this match went longer, as the brief time we saw Dorada & Andrews in there with one another was a highlight.)

Taz put over how much he enjoys The Conglomeration’s theme song, but doesn’t say which show it reminds him of, as he doesn’t want to pay royalties. Quick start by Andrews & Dorada, with the crowd loudly behind Andrews, who caught a corkscrew kick, until Dorada took down both Lykos with an arm drag to the floor. They dodged a dive, allowing Andrews to hit a rolling double stomp and cracked both Strong & Cassidy on the apron. Cassidy joined the match, but was immediately triple teamed, leaving the UK Trio standing tall before hitting triple dives.

Back inside, Dorada was worked over until floating over Lykos I into a Code Red for the double down. Cassidy made the lukewarm tag, hands in pockets and hitting a huge monkey flip before popping Lykos II & Andrews with a double dropkick. Lykos I tried to attack, but suffered a Stundog Millionaire for his efforts. Cassidy tagged in a reluctant Strong, who seemed to constantly try to strike Cassidy, who’d always dodge and Strong would hit his opponents. Cassidy sent a diving Lykos II into Strong’s Death By Roderick, while Cassidy hit an Orange Punch, Dorada hit a dive on Andrews & Lykos I. Strong capped it off with an End of Heartache on Lykos II to win it.

Match Result: Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong & Mascara Dorada defeated Mark Andrews, Kid Lykos I & Kid Lykos II when Strong pinned Lykos II

Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & PAC w/Daniel Garcia & Marina Shafir) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & Nathan Cruz

(Action packed main event, with G.Y.V. & Cruz getting in plenty of offense, but once the Death Riders crew got in control, they weren’t giving that up. While PAC was cheered by the Cardiff crowd, they were more than happy to boo Yuta. Commentary really put over how Moxley’s early losses in the C2 have put him in a tough spot going forward and really needs to win out if he wants a chance of making the semi-finals.)

Death Riders attack before the bell, as Gibson & Cruz were sent crashing into the barricade and ring steps, while Yuta targeted Drake to start the match. Flying cross body and forearms put Drake in control, as he made fast tags with his G.Y.V. partner until PAC tagged in and he suffered the same fate. Yuta was popped on the apron, resulting in Moxley to check on him, while PAC was isolated with fast tags by Cruz & G.Y.V. Moxley & Yuta broke a pin attempt, as the match broke down. Drake & Gibson hit dueling dives on Moxley & Yuta, while Cruz tried a fireman’s carry-on PAC, who raked the eyes and clobbered Cruz with a big boot. Moxley flew in with a baseball slide on Drake, as Yuta threw Gibson into the barricade, as it’s Cruz now who’s worked over.

Moxley tags in officially for the first time and hits clubbing blows before Yuta tags in with a guillotine knee drop for two. The crowd is letting Yuta really hear it, as Cruz is able to get an enzugiri and hot tag to Gibson. PAC was mowed down with a lariat, as Gibson drove him repeatedly face first into the corner. Yuta tried to help, but was launched with an overhead suplex. Drake tagged in, as he & Gibson hit a combo dropkick/Michinoku Driver combo for two. PAC fought free from a Doomsday Device, crotched Drake, allowing Moxley to tag in and hit Gibson with a flash Cutter.

Moxley mocks the crowd before firing off kicks, only waking Gibson up, as he ran through Moxley with a lariat and lungblower. Cruz tagged in and it’s a triple team on Moxley, with Cruz hitting a sit-out slam on Moxley for a near fall. PAC & Yuta made the save, as both got heads of steam, Yuta hit a flip dive on G.Y.V. while Moxley placed Cruz in position for PAC to take his head off with a lariat. Brutalizer quickly followed, as PAC got the submission. Moxley is bleeding from the mouth, as Excalibur didn’t know how, but Taz said it’s because he wrestled a match, it’s what Moxley does.

Match Result: Death Riders defeated Grizzled Young Veterans & Nathan Cruz when PAC submitted Cruz

I have no idea if or when Dark will return, but I very much enjoyed this little bit of nostalgia, hearing Excalibur & Taz riff like the old days. Even though we didn’t hear Taz sing, nor did we get any Seinfeld tangents like I loved, it was still a fun 30-minute show. I’m glad Tony Khan decided to bring it back, even for one night only.

Orange Cassidy reacts to Stevie Richards’ comments on Logan Paul, AEW

Orange Cassidy does not agree with recent comments made by Stevie Richards.

Richards published a video last week stating that Logan Paul is better than the entire AEW roster, and 98 percent of the WWE roster. Cassidy was a guest on Adrian Hernandez’s podcast recently and was asked if he agrees with Richards’ comments.

“No, absolutely not,” Cassidy responded.

“Like, saying that Logan Paul is better than the entire AEW roster? I think Logan Paul is good. I think he’s doing very well for his limited experience and stuff. You get angry at people like that that just go in and do it, make it look great effortlessly. But he’s not better than the AEW roster.”

“I mean, that’s like another counter programming word,” Cassidy continued, referencing an earlier part of the conversation that referred to counter programming as “clickbait.”

Kyle Fletcher also responded to Richards’ comments recently, telling TMZ he wasn’t sure if Richards actually believed what he was saying wholeheartedly.

“If he does, like I said, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I think that opinion is bullsh*t personally,” Fletcher added.

Earlier in his interview with Hernandez, Cassidy mentioned being banged up following last week’s Blood & Guts match in Greensboro. Specifically, Cassidy mentioned still having holes in his hands from Jon Moxley stapling them into his pockets.

The full conversation is available below:

Kyle Fletcher reveals two of AEW’s locker room leaders

Kyle Fletcher names AEW’s two locker room leaders.

Since its launch in 2019, All Elite Wrestling has emerged as a major rival to WWE. Co-founded by Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Tony Khan, the promotion initially boasted veterans like Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho, among others. Now, nearly six years later, current TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher has identified Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy as key leaders within the locker room.

Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Fletcher said, “I don’t necessarily like the term ‘locker room leader’ because it’s not like one person stands in the middle of the locker room every time and goes like, ‘clean up your trash.’” With a direct bash at The Undertaker, Fletcher continued, “It’s not like Undertaker in the 90s. It just doesn’t really exist nowadays. I think there are certain people that everyone else just looks to and respects. It’s a very natural and organic thing.”

Emphasizing Moxley and Cassidy’s reputation in the locker room, the youngster said, “I think the one that is the most obvious right now is maybe like Jon Moxley. Mox is just one of those people that he lives and breathes AEW and just wants it to succeed more than anything and he’s always another one of those people that is always around and always there to offer some super cool insight, that you might not normally think of. Another one is Orange Cassidy since coming back, he’s been a great guy that people can look to and really respect and lead by example.”

Fletcher joined All Elite Wrestling in 2022 and has since then been a regular part of the roster. The 26-year-old rose to prominence after breaking up with Will Ospreay and starting his own path. Currently, the TNT Champion recently retained his title against Scorpio Sky on the November 15th edition of Collision.

Kyle Fletcher calls out Stevie Richards’ comments on Logan Paul

A few days ago, former WWE and ECW star Stevie Richards heaped praise on Logan Paul. He claimed that the part-time wrestler/full-time influencer is better than “everybody in AEW”.

However, the comments were not taken lightly by Fletcher, who said, “I don’t know if he believes that wholeheartedly.” In his interview with TMZ, Fletcher added, “If he does, like I said, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I think that opinion is bullsh*t personally. I think the roster that we have at AEW, the matches that are that you see on a weekly, bi-weekly, like monthly basis—I am astounded. Like, I can’t even keep up. Like, I watch one match that I go that’s the best match I’ve seen this year. And then the next week I’ll see the another match that I think is the best match this year. It’s just it’s an absurd, it’s an absolutely absurd claim to make.”

Orange Cassidy on Tony Khan: ‘It’s nice to have your boss understand what you’re doing’

Orange Cassidy discussed his popularity, working with Tony Khan, and his place in AEW history during a recent interview.

Cassidy will challenge Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite tonight in Hollywood, Florida. It will be the 6th Anniversary episode of the show, with Cassidy having been a day-one star with the promotion. He told The Sportster that he credits his success to Tony Khan allowing him to present his vision of the character, and to wrestling fans for believing in him even before AEW started.

Cassidy said:

“I think it’s really the fans’ fault because they were very open and receptive before AEW, before Tony Khan really knew who I was, and they were reacting. I think it allowed them to be like, ‘All right, well, if they’re reacting, he must know something that we don’t.’ I was very lucky that the fans were reacting to what I was doing.”

Cassidy noted that he continues to work very close with Khan.

“He still works very close to me about what I’m doing. It’s nice to have your boss understand what you’re doing and facilitate it. I could have got pigeonholed somewhere else. It could have been the same thing we see all the other times, but I think he allowed me to do this stuff because he also knew that I wanted to wrestle, too. That was nice.”

He added that he’s grateful for his spot in AEW history, saying that when you think of AEW, you also think of Orange Cassidy.

“I’m just very grateful to be a part of AEW and to be a part of the history. I do like that when you think of AEW, you have to at least think of me, and that feels very special.”

Cassidy also discussed working with Sting, Chris Jericho, and wrestling in Florida. The full interview from The Sportster is available here.

AEW reveals change, addition to sixth anniversary edition of Dynamite

Image: AEW

A revamped TNT title match is part of several new additions to this Wednesday’s sixth anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite.

After being attacked backstage by TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher following an on-screen visit from Clon, Hologram is out of his scheduled title match. In his place: former AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, one week after returning following a six-month absence due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Another new addition is former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, making her first appearance since losing the title to Kris Statlander in a four-way at last weekend’s All Out. Storm also could insert herself into the teased first-ever women’s Blood & Guts match.

Announced earlier on Dynamite, Kenny Omega will return after nearly a month to join AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido against Josh Alexander and The Young Bucks.

AEW Dynamite sixth anniversary | Wednesday, October 1:

  • Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Daniel Garcia vs. Hangman Page, Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs
  • Kris Statlander & Darby Allin vs. Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta

Orange Cassidy returns from injury on AEW Dynamite

For the first time since March 2025, Orange Cassidy has returned to action inside an AEW ring.

On Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, Cassidy was the not-so surprise partner of Mark Briscoe and Hologram against Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada and Hechicero of the Don Callis Family.

Cassidy made his return by emerging from the frame of a new portrait Callis had created for the evening, upsetting the manager. Cassidy’s team was later victorious following a Hologram portal bomb and pin on Hechicero.

TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher then came out afterward and issued a challenge to Hologram for next Wednesday’s Dynamite in a title vs. streak match which was accepted. No angle or future direction was laid out for Cassidy.

The 41-year-old suffered a torn pectoral muscle in March and hasn’t wrestled since a four-way eliminator match for an International title shot. His return was all but revealed on this past Saturday’s All Out in a backstage segment.

Former AEW titleholder returning on Dynamite after long absence

After missing half a year, former AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy will make his return to action on this Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Cassidy will team with Mark Briscoe and Hologram against Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero this Wednesday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The news was revealed during Saturday’s All Out in a backstage segment when Briscoe, flanked by The Conglomeration, called out Callis and any three members of his group to a match Wednesday. He said himself and Hologram would take part, leading to Willow Nightingale asking who the third person was.

Briscoe then looked at Kyle O’Reilly who was on the phone. Briscoe asked if “he” was ready and O’Reilly said, “Whatever” and gave the Cassidy thumbs-up.

The 41-year-old Cassidy has been out since mid-March with a torn pectoral muscle, believed to be suffered in a four-way match.

Also announced for Wednesday, AEW head Tony Khan will make an “important announcement.”

Current AEW Dynamite card | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | This Wednesday

  • Orange Cassidy, Hologram & Mark Briscoe vs. Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita & Hechicero
  • Tony Khan important announcement

Report: AEW star medically cleared to return

Orange Cassidy is reportedly cleared to return.

The former AEW International Champion has been out of action since March. It was initially believed he suffered a torn pectoral muscle, but recent reports suggest he underwent shoulder surgery shortly after the injury occurred.

Bodyslam.net reported on Tuesday that Cassidy has been medically cleared and is now awaiting creative plans for his return to AEW. Fightful later confirmed that this aligns with what they’ve heard and added that Cassidy is expected to return “sooner than later.” They also noted that the injury is suspected to have been a torn labrum.

Cassidy last wrestled on the March 19, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska, in a four-way match against Mike Bailey, Mark Davis, and Ricochet.

Cassidy posted to social media in late July, mentioning he attended the premiere of The Naked Gun and that it was the best he’s felt “in a long time.”

  • The Hollywood Reporter has a Q&A with the director of WWE Unreal, Chris Weaver. When asked how real he felt the show ended up being, he said: “So that’s a longwinded way of saying, I don’t know, but my impression was we’re getting the authentic side of these people. Listen, there’s a lot of cameras around. They’re shooting — you know, WWE has different groups shooting — we’re shooting. There’s the network cameras for the broadcast. And [the wrestlers] would often say, “Am I supposed to be in character?” [And we were like], “No, this is NFL Films for the Netflix show.” And they go, “Got it.” And so a lot of them would ask and want to be sure, and that was another indicator to me that we’re seeing Phil Brooks or, you know, whatever their real names are in each case, but I think we got the most authentic side of a lot of these people.”
