El Hijo del Vikingo wins Latin American Championship at AAA Noche de Los Grandes

El Hijo del Vikingo is the brand new AAA Latin American Champion.

In the second match of the night on the May 30, 2026 edition of AAA Noche de los Grandes at Arena Monterrey, fans saw Vikingo defeat El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. to crown himself the new Latin American Champion.

Minutes after Rey Fenix won the Cruiserweight Championship, Vikingo, with Omos and Dorian Roldan by his side, defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in a short, almost 8-minute match. The match also saw the involvement of Galeno, who tried to take down Omos. It also had Mini Vikingo interfering and attacking El Hijo del Vikingo with a springboard dropkick.

Despite numerous disruptions, Vikingo ultimately secured victory by pinning El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. with a 630 senton in the final moments of the match. Moments after winning the match, Vikingo escaped the ring and celebrated his new championship win with Roldan and Omos at ringside.

Latin American title match set for AAA Guerra de Titanes

A new title match is set for Guerra de Titanes.

After Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. retained the title during Sunday’s AAA Day of the Dead television taping, Ethan Page ran in and jumped Wagner from behind. He told Wagner that he already beat him in his country in front of his people, and now he was going to do it in front of Dr. Wagner’s people. He claimed he would take the Latin American title, and would see him in Guadalajara on December 20.

Backstage, Wagner reacted to the attack while Ethan Page promised to become a triple champion on social media. Earlier in the night, Page and Chelsea Green teamed together to defeat Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra to win the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles for the first time.

The two have been feuding on NXT for the last several weeks, culminating in a Day of the Dead match that took place at Halloween Havoc. Page emerged as the winner, retaining the NXT North American title.

AAA announces Latin American title match for Day of the Dead show

El Hijo del Vikingo will have a chance to win the Latin American title seven weeks after dropping the AAA Mega Championship to Dominik Mysterio.

AAA announced on Sunday that Vikingo will challenge El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the Latin American title at the promotion’s special Day of the Dead event on Sunday, November 2.

AAA wrote (translated):

“AAA Latin American Championship Fight: Hijo del Vikingo vs  @hijodewagner November 2, Showcenter Complex, Monterrey. Special Event #AlianzasAAA 💫 celebrating the Day of the Dead.”

Wagner Jr. is coming off a loss to Ethan Page in a Day of the Dead match at NXT Halloween Havoc on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Vikingo has only wrestled once since dropping the Mega title to Dominik at Worlds Collide in Las Vegas last month. That match was a triple threat against Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano, which was won by Lee on September 27.

The November 2 show will be held at the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey. No other matches have been announced yet.

Two titles change hands at AAA Triplemania XXXIII

Two titles have changed hands in AAA.

The first title change took place when El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. won AAA’s Latin American Championship, defeating El Mesias. Dorian Roldan was in Mesias’ corner and interfered, causing Wagner’s father, Dr. Wagner Jr., to hop over the barricade and lay out Roldan. Mesias got a nearfall with a spear, but his father’s distraction at ringside allowed Wagner to cut off Mesias from the top rope, hitting a superplex then connecting with the Wagner driver for the win.

After the match, Wagner’s father handed him the title as they both celebrated in the ring.

In a street fight, Angel and Berto lost the AAA Tag Team titles to Psycho Clown and Pagano in a street fight. In a match filled with kendo sticks, barbed wire, and a lot of tables, Psycho Clown won the match for his team after hitting a spanish fly off the top rope. After the match, the rest of the clowns came out and celebrated with the new champions.

The Reina de Reinas title was also on the line at Triplemania, but Flammer kept her title after pinning Faby Apache, who had her foot on the ropes. Tirantes, the heel referee in AAA, didn’t see Apache’s foot on the rope and counted anyway, giving Flammer the win. After the match, Natalya and Apache brawled.
