ROH World title match part of updated AEW Dynamite lineup

The ROH World Championship is on the line this coming Wednesday.

During AEW Collision, a segment took place where Sammy Guevara confronted Bandido, challenging him for Wednesday. Guevara promised he’d do something so heinous he’d take out the ROH Champion so he could face MJF and get the AEW Championship match Bandido earned. Bandido responded by asking Guevara why he was so angry and agreed to the Dynamite title match.

Bandido became the first person other than MJF to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring last month, defeating Ricochet to win the ring and the title match. After MJF won the title at Worlds End, the title match was confirmed for AEW Dynamite Maximum Carnage on January 14.

At the very end of Collision, a match was also made between Toni Storm and Marina Shafir. After the latter attempted to help Wheeler Yuta in his match against Darby Allin, Toni Storm came out for the save, attacking Shafir.

AEW Dynamite lineup | January 7th, 2026 | Tulsa, Oklahoma

  • Lights Out match: The Opps (Hook & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland
  • AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin in a title eliminator match
  • ROH World Championship: Bandido defends against Sammy Guevara
  • Toni Storm vs. Marina Shafir
  • Jim Ross returns

And Dave Meltzer’s top-rated match of 2025 is…

ROH World Champion Bandido vs. Konosuke Takeshita | July 11 | ROH Supercard of Honor | ***** 3/4

From that week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“With all the great wrestling from this past weekend in the U.S., which had two other very legit match of the year contenders, the match of the weekend was Bandido retaining his ROH title over Konosuke Takeshita on the 7/11 Supercard of Honor show.

The show wasn’t going to have a lot of impact given all the other higher profile events, but that match was among the best bouts I’ve ever seen. Takeshita is always great and the two showed excellent chemistry in their television tag match. I do worry about Takeshita working a harder schedule than most, especially with G-1 coming, and with all the stuff he does at his size. Bandido clearly got his confidence back working as a headliner in Mexico and it’s transferred to the U.S. He lost prime years of his career with a broken wrist that required two surgeries, and then got a concussion as soon as he was cleared.

It was great from start-to-finish, built well and the last few minutes were unreal. This was basically the ultimate in the modern style with everything fans who like that style love and everything people who hate the style complain about.”

ROH TV live results: Bandido & Jay Lethal vs. The Swirl

Ring of Honor’s 2026 kicks off tonight with their first HonorClub show of the new year.

ROH World Champion Bandido teams with former champion Jay Lethal to take on Lee Johnson & Blake Christian of The Swirl.

In a trios Fight Without Honor, The Outrunners & Dalton Castle take on MxM TV.

In a rematch, Billie Starkz teams with Diamante against Deonna Purrazzo & Madison Rayne.

Bryan Keith returns to the ROH singles division against Serpentico while Hechicero battles Aaron Solo.

In another trios match, Shane Taylor Promotions takes on Komander and Top Flight while Lance Archer in action rounds out the main card.

    **********

Here we are friends, new year, new you, new wrestling! Ring of Honor is the first of the Middle-Sized ones to do it in 2026 and they certainly set the tone with:

ROH World Champion Bandido & Jay Lethal vs. The Swirl (Blake Christian & Lee Johnson)

Christian has been doing his best to be an annoying brat to both Bandido and Lethal recently, so this match has some fuel to it. Johnson was also there.

Christian vs Lethal started the match, but the crowd wanted Bandido. Lethal tagged him in, but Christian then tagged out, playing the mind games. Johnson and Bandido tangled for a few seconds, before Christian got pulled back into it. When the dust settled Johnson and Bandido were legal.

Johnson got the upper hand until Bandido blocked a suplex. Johnson did the same ont he counter and the two broke of and ran the ropes, colliding in the center. On the outside, Christian tried to distract Lethal.

Christian tagged back in and he and Bandidio traded holds with Christian getting the better of the champ in the corner. Christian cut off the hot tag and when Lethal did get a tag, the ref didnt see it. In the confusion, Johnson and Christian hammered Bandido in the corner.

Bandido fought back and went for a hot tag to Lethal who… stepped away? Lethal refused Bandido’s tag and that allowed Christian to get the drop on Bandido. He and Johnson went for a double team, but Bandido was fired up and fought them both.

Match Result: Bandido & Jay Lethal vs. The Swirl went to a no contest

Lethal slipped into the ring and hit a Lethal Injection on Bandido and then the Swirl stomped him. All three beat on Bandido until Christian grabbed the ROH World Title Belt. Lethal ripped off Bandido’s mask and just then Adam Priest and Tom Billington hit the ring to make the save.

The newly established trio of Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson (Im leaning hard towards “Lethal Swirl”) walked up the ramp.

    Bryan Keith vs Serpentico

There was something poetic about this Snake-vs-Cowboy match.

The match began with some confirmation from the audience that they were going to “boo” Keith and “Yay” Serpentico. Then Keith knocked Serpentico down and they started wrestling. Serpentico seemed to have the speed advantge put to good use, running circles around Keith.

Keith threw a shoulder into Serpentico’s chin, knocking him out of the ring. Keith followed and Serptentico met him with some chops. Keith went right to the eyes and threw Serpentico at the stairs by the face.

Back in the ring, Serpentico and Keith traded shots until Keith got a knee into Serpentico’s stomach. They traded suplex blocks back and forth until Serpentico landed one, throwing Keith into the corner. Serpentico kept the match pace going with a series of kicks and a hurricanrana. Serpentico went for a cover but only got a two count.

Serpentico went up top but Keith rolled out of the way. Serpentico countered and exploder, but couldn’t counter the whipping lariat Keith hit him with next. Keith pointed to the sky and went to finish off Serpentico, but he took too long and Serpentico hit him with a cresecnt kick.

Keith put a knee to his face and then threw him down in a tiger driver to get the pin and the victory.

Match Result: Bryan Keith defeated Serpentico

Billie Starkz and Diamante vs ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Madison Rayne

Tentative handshakes started the match as Starkz and Diamante tried to jump Rayne and Purrazzo off the bell. Rayne and Purrazzo saw it coming though and hit a few tandem moves to end the assualt. The match started for realsies with Rayne and Diamante. They gave way to Starkz and Rayne that threw punches at each other untiul Rayne threw Starkz into the corner.

Rayne officially tagged in, taking over beating up Diamante from Purrazzo. The battlked for a but until Starkz tagged in and took Rayne to the corner to tag Diamante back in. They tagged in and out, working Rayne over until Dimante did a standing hair pull on Rayne and Starkz tagged in.

They hit a double backbreaker on Rayne and tossed her across the ring. Diamante exited and Starkz put Rayne in a tight headlock. She tossed Rayne into the corner and Diamante tagged in for tandem head strikes. Purrazzo tried to help but the Ref sent her back to her corner.

Diamante bounced Rayne’s head off the turnbuckle and Starkz tagged in for a choke. She punched Rayne in the corner until the Ref broke it up. Starkz and the Ref got into it then and Starkz pushed the ref. The ref pushed her back and over Rayne, who scooped her up for a two count.

Starkz suplexed Rayne but ate a big boot on the charge to get her in the corner. Rayne went up the turnbuckles holding Starkz head between her knees, sending Starkz head into the turnbuckle. She then hit a cannonball that left both women on the mat.

Hot tags were made on both sides and fresh Purrazzo and Dimante action broke out. Purrazzo went right for the armbar, but Diamante got out of it. Purrazzo went for a powerbomb, but Starkz broke it up. Rayne came in and hit Starkz with a destroyer. Diamanted rolled through and landed a DDT on Rayne.

Purrazzo stepped in and she and Diamante brawled but both connected on kicks, sending the other to their corners for tags. Rayne and Starkz complied and Rayne began throwing hands. Starkz came back with a ripcord elbow and they went back and forth.

Starkz went up for the swanton and Diamante took Purrazzo out. Starkz pinned Rayne and got the win for her and Diamante.

Match Result: Billie Starkz and Diamante defeated Deonna Purrazzo and Madison Rayne

    Lancer Archer vs Steve Gibki

In 2025, Archer threw a lot of local talent at the ground using the Archer’s Edge, Big Chops and Chokeslams.

In 2026, Archer promises to throw a lot of local talent at the ground using the Archer’s Edge, Big Chops and Chokeslams.

Gibki got a dropkick in, but otherwise see above.

Match Result: Lancer Archer defeated Steve Gibki

Shane Taylor Promotions (ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, ROH Six Man Champions Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean) vs Komander and Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin)

Darius and Moriarty kicked things off which brought out a surprisingly technical side to Darius. The two traded holds until Moriarty tagged in Dean. Darius tagged in Komander and he and Dean whipped each other aroud the corners with Komander doing some fun flipping dropkicks.

Dean managed to block Komander’s speed with an eye-gouge and brought in Bravo for a double team. Bravo threw a flurry of jabs at Kommander in the corner then whipped him from post to post. Bravo hit a springboard cutter on Komander, but could only get a two count.

Quick tags let the Infantry press-slam Komander before Moriarty tagged in. Komander got him into a curicifix right away, but Moriarty kicked out. Quick tags and Dante and Dean were running the ropes. Dante hit a springboard crossbody, but only got a two count.

Dean blocked a suplex and handed out a big lariat. Tags made and Bravo and Darius met in the middle of the ring where Bravo knocked Darius’ head off with a right hand. Darius got back with a blue thunder bomb (complete with traditional two count).

The infantry then planted Komander, but Dante took them both out with a hight crossbody. Dante dropkicked Dean into a suplex from Darious. Dante made the pin 1-2-3!

Match Result: Top Flight defeated Shane Taylor Promotions

Backstage, Madison Rayne took a moment to speak about her life, her career and her family. She took the moment to announce that her earlier match with Deonna Purrazzo as her partner, would be her last. She is officially retiring and well deserved the moment.

    Hechicero vs Aaron Solo

Solo has been in great shape lately, but even with the added bulk, Hechicero had a significant size advantage. Solo managed to avoid his reach though, but Hechicero caught up with him and put him in an leg lock, then an armbar.

Solo reversed it, but Hechicero saw it coming and switched tactics, slamming Solo’s arm on the mat to wrench the shoulder.

Hechicero proimised to be a good boy and shook Solo’s hand. Immediately after he knocked him to the ground and wrapped him up in a string of holds. Solo kept pushing back and the two shared a series of rolling two counts.

Hechicero got caught by a Solo dropkick out of the ring and Solo flipped out onto him with a cannonball. He thew Hechicero back in and went up top, hitting a stomp on Hechicero for a two count.

Hechicero caught Solo in a leapfrog, dragging him down tot he mat. Hechicero put him in the corner and started throwing hands, including exactly ten punches in the corner. Hechicero hit a leghook slam on Solo, but only got another two count.

The two traded shots in the middle of the ring until Solo snuck in a neckbreaker. Hechicero caught him in a drop and tried to set a crab, but Solo popped out of it and stomped Hechicero. Solo threw some stiff kicks, but Hechicero took them and went for a pin.

Solo grabbed him and they went through some rolling pin attempts. Hechicero hit a flapjack and wrapped his legs around Solo’s head. He rolled him arround the ring, then suddenly stopped. A dazed Solo couldn’t react fast enough and Hechicero got the pin

Match Result: Hechicero defeated Aaron Solo

Six Man Tag Team Fight Without Honor: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs MxMxTV (Johnny TV, Mansoor & Mason Madden) (w/Taya Valkyrie)

The first Ring of Honor Main Event of 2026 had it all. Boys. Tassels. Shades. Packages. As well as a distinct lack of honor. For those not in the know, a “Fight Without Honor” in Ring of Honor is a no countout, no dq, anything goes match.

This one proved that when MxMxTV showed up dressed like Grinches and destroyed the ROH Christmas Tree set. That brought Castle and the Outrunners up the ramp to beat up the Grinches and rest the tree like the flag at Iwo Jima.

Yes, that happened exactly as I described it.

In the fracas, Mansoor and Madden made it to the ring and were beating up on Magnum. Taya Valkyrie and Johnny TV ate and Onion and made out with the peices in their mouths. TV then grabbed some tubes of wrapping paper and beat up all Castle’s Boys with them. Castle got mad about that and started throwing oversized Christmas balls at TV and MxM.

Castle brought one down to the ring and used it to knock TV around and out of the ring. The Outrunners joined him there and beat up TV on the outside.

Mansoor and Floyd entered the ring, each holding a present. Mansoor offered his to Floyd, and Floyd punched him in the face through it. Mansoor then got up and Floyd offered him his present. Mansoor tried to punch through it, but no! It contained a brick!.

Madon Madden came to the ring with the tree and Floyd wrestled it away from him. He put the tree on his shoulders and gave it and airplane spin, knocking Mason and Madden out. The ramp was littered with boys, Outrunners, MXMs and more.

MxM mocked the Outrunners by doing a “Son of a Grinch” elbow on Castle. They hailed him up and TV went to smash a cake in his face but he ducked and Valkyrie caught the backed good face first.

The Outrunners hit total recall on Mansoor, but Madden grabbed Floyd and hit a sky high chokeslam. Madden went under the ring and pulled out a stocking. He got back in the ring and emptied the stocking of it’s contents: Lego.

Madden and the Outrunners blocked suplexes from each other until Madden ended up in the corner. The Outrunners took his boots off and hit an atomic drop, driving Madden’s bare feet onto the Lego.

Magnum hit Madden in the head with a present and he fell backwards on the legos. One “Son-of-a-bitch” elbow later and Magnum screamed “let’s get the tables!”

    So they did.

Two tables were tossed into the ring and set up over top of the Lego (I think it was a Star wars set). TV Slid in and hita low blow on Floyd and sent Magnum out. TV and Mansoor laid Floyd out on one table in the ring. TV laid out Magnum on one on the outside.

Mansoor went up top and TV joined him there. They went for a dual leap but Castle appeared and Low blowed them both! He sent TV through the table on the outside and the OutRunners suplexed Madden through the table in the ring. They pinned him and got the incredible and ridiculous win.

Match Result: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners defeated MxMxTV

New AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring winner crowned

For the first-time in AEW’s history, fans witnessed a new Dynamite Diamond Ring winner get crowned tonight.

Last week, duringthe Dynamite Holiday Bash in Manchester, UK, Bandido and Ricochet won the Dynamite Diamond Ring battle royal when they remained the last two men standing. Earlier tonight, Bandido defeated Ricochet to win the 2025 Dynamite Diamond Ring on the December 24th episode of Dynamite on 34th Street.

The match’s final moments saw Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) cause a distraction to help Ricochet, but it did not pay off as Bandido was able to counter it. Ricochet followed it up with a spirit gun to finish off Bandido, who managed to catch Ricochet in a crucifix pin for the victory.

The post-match segment saw Gates of Agony and Ricochet attack the new Dynamite Ring Winner before his tag-team partner, Brody King, came out to make the save.

Tonight’s win made Bandido the first person to win the Diamond Ring after MJF, who had won the ring in all of its editions since 2019. Bandido will next challenge the AEW World Champion for the title at AEW Dynamite Maximum Carnage on January 14, 2026.

Dynamite Diamond Ring finals official for AEW Dynamite on 34th Street

The Dynamite Diamond Ring finals are set following Wednesday’s Holiday Bash edition of Dynamite and Collision.

Decided in a 12-man battle royal, ROH World Champion Bandido and reigning AEW National Champion Ricochet were the final two competitors and will now square off on next Wednesday’s Dynamite on 34th Street to determine who earns the ring and a future title shot in January.

Ricochet benefited from having both Gates of Agony members in the match. The bout came down to those three men, Brody King and Bandido. King eliminated himself and Toa Liona on a clothesline while Bandido eliminated Bishop Kaun with a reverse frankensteiner to cement the final match.

It will be the first time in the ring’s six-year history that it will have a different holder other than MJF. It will also be the first ever singles meeting between Bandido and Ricochet.

The match also featured Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Mark Davis, Ace Austin, Shelton Benjamin, Josh Alexander, and Luchasaurus.

Ring of Honor Final Battle live results: Survival of the Fittest World title match

A six-way Survival of the Fittest match for the Ring of Honor World title headlines tonight’s ROH Final Battle from Columbus, Ohio.

Originally set to defend against Rush, Bandido will now defend against Hechicero, Sammy Guevara, The Beast Mortos, Komander and Blake Christian.

Athena will look to keep her 1000+ day ROH Women’s World title run going as she defends against CMLL’s Persephone while ROH Women’s TV Champion Mercedes Mone defends against Red Velvet.

AEW National Champion Ricochet defends the title for the first time as he takes on Dalton Castle while ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Shane Taylor Promotions defend against SkyFlight.

Two new champions are guaranteed as Deonna Purrazzo vs. Billie Starkz will determine the inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Champion while Sammy Guevara & The Beast Mortos vs. Tommy Billington & Adam Priest will determine the new ROH Tag Team Champions.

The main card is rounded out by a 30-minute Iron Man match between Nigel McGuinness vs. Lee Moriarty, and Eddie Kingston vs. Josh Woods while the pre-show will see Lee Johnson vs. Ace Austin.

    **********

Here we go, friends! It’s the finalest of battles with over half a dozen titles on the line, an instant classic tee’d up and an Eddie Kingston match. Does it get better than that? I don’t think so. But ZERO HOUR is upon us, so let’s see if it does!

ZERO HOUR: The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) vs The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari) w/ Mark Sterling and Stori Denali

These are definitely two tag teams that would have made sense in the title match later tonight. But that said, it’s always nice to see the Outrunners dropping double elbows on jerks the caliber of the Athletes.

Nese and Magnum kicked things off with some posing, then some wrestling, then some more posing, before finally settling on some wrestling. Eache held their own (because they are pretty good at this) but Nese got the better of Magnum with some headgames.

The match proceeded as expected from there, lots of quick tags, double teams and shenanigans from the Athletes. At one point Sterling tried to get involved and Denali took on Magnum in a staredown, but the Outrunners were able to keep their momentum.

In the end, Floyd came in off of a hot tag and the Outrunners disposed of Nese and Daivari with their classic double elbow into a Total Recall with Magnum getting the pin on Daivari.

Match Result: The Outrunners defeated The Premier Athletes

ZERO HOUR: Leila Grey vs Zayda Steel

Steel was one of the hottest free agents out there when Tony Khan snapped her up. She immediately set her sights on ROH mainstay Grey, so we will see if Steel can back up her rep in her ROH/AEW debut.

The two chain wrestled back and forth for the first part of the match, working each other pretty evenly. Steel began to take control until Grey hit a killer neckbreaker and some big lariats. Steel wasn’t out yet though, delivering some hard strikes and luring Grey into a half-crab hold.

Grey hit a devastating iron butterfly and it knocked Steel clean out. Grey got the pin and victory, but Steel looked great and will do well in AEW/ROH.

Match Result: Leila Grey defeated Zayda Steel

ZERO HOUR: Lee Johnson vs. Ace Austin

I’m 78% sure this match is happening because Johnson came to the event with Christian and was sad that he couldnt be in the Survival of The Fittest Match too. But that’s just speculation.

Austin and Johnson are both very, very athletic, so it was a match that was full of hold switches, lots of whips and lariats and standoffs as the two clashed in the air and on the mat. Johnson broke an Indian Death Lock with an eye poke at one point, and Austin was able to use brute strength to keep Johnson at bay.

Austin hit a Blue Thunder Bomb, but as we know, it’s impossible to win matches with that. Johnson tried to respond with one of his own, but again, no joy. Austin kept up with Johnson, dodging and reversing everything thrown at him until he managed to get Johnson with a huge slam to pick up the win in his ROH debut.

Match Result: Ace Austin defeated Lee Johnson

ZERO HOUR: Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs The Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia)

Two more teams that would not be out of place in the upcoming Tag Team title match, GYV have had some bangers this year. Yuta and Garcia are fresh off of a victory last night on Honorclub. Jon Moxley accompanied them to the ring and sat in on commentary for the match. I could almost understand what he was saying through the mumbles.

Yuta and Drake set the pace with a really fast and fun exchange off the top. Garcia took on Gibson in a technical display that saw Garcia worm his way out of everything that Gibson threw at him. Drake at one point climbed the ladder and jumed what seemed like 10 feet high to take out Yuta.

A great double hot tag gave the match it’s best sequence with Gibson and Garcia going absolutely wild on each other. Gibson threw Yuta into Garcia in the corner via a pumphandle slam, which was awesome. Garcia grapevined Gibson into a Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring which Gibson powered out of, but he couldn’t power out of the double beatdown the Riders gave him.

Drake went coast to coast with a dropkick on Yuta’s head, but it only got a two count. Garcia trapped Drake beneath the steel steps and he and Yuta delivered a double dropkick to the stairs, possibly killing him. After that, Yuta hit his big knee on Gibson and Garcia scooped him up for the pin.

Match Result: Death Riders defeated Grizzled Young Veterans

And with all that said, 8pm EST arrived and FINAL BATTLE began!

At the end of Zero Hour, Jon Moxley decided that he was going to stay on commentary. I took that to mean he’d hang around for the final moments of the pre show. Nope. There he was, dryly mentioning things as Final Battle began.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Finals of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship Tournament: Deonna Purrazzo vs. Billie Starkz

The Tournament to crown the inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Champion was announced on April 12, 2025. On August 29, 2025, at Death Before Dishonor, the tournament bracket was revealed. Last night (December 4, 2025) Queen Aminata had to forefeit her match against Purrazzo because of injury, sending her to the finals. Starkz beat Yuka Sakazaki on the same show to get her ticket punched. So here we are with the finals, almost 8 full months after the tournament of 16 women was announced.

Starkz tried to hit a lariat off the code of honor, but Purrazzo saw it coming and turned it into an armbar, forcing Starkz to use her first rope break just a few seconds into the match. Starkz did her best to enrage Purrazzo who channeled that anger into an armbar with a fish hook cherry on top.

Purrazzo controlled the match in the early going, having an aswer for everything Starkz threw at her. Starkz took some time to find her footing, but after luring Purrazzo to the outside used that foot to drive Purrazzo’s head into the steel steps.

Back in the ring, Starkz stalked Purrazzo around the ring, throwing strikes and driving Purrazzo to the mat with a snap DDT. Purrazzo came back though, continuing to work Starkz’ arm before sending her outside into the barricade.

Purrazzo tried to whip Starkz into the ringpost, but Starkz reversed it and threw some crazy forearms. Purrazzo eventually ducked though and Starkz hit the ringpost, further damaging that arm. Purrazzo then hit a side Russian leg sweep on Starkz, driving the back of her head onto the announce table.

Purrazzo threw Starkz back into the ring and locked in a Koji clutch. Starkz worked out of it and hit a spinning kick, sending both women to the mat. Purrazzo got up first and locked in another arm bar. Starkz refused to tap and dragged them both to the ropes, using her second break at 50:48.

Starkz hit a backbreaker that got a two count, but Purrazzo wasn’t fazed by it. She lured Starkz onto the apron, but Starkz got her with an Alabama slam and a cannonball off the apron. She threw Purrazzo back in and landed a picture-perfect swanton, but Purrazzo kicked out.

Starkz locked in a sleeper, but at 48:38, Purrazzo fell on the ropes, using a break for the first time EVER. From there, Purrazzo reversed a slam into a piledriver, but Starkz kicked out at two. Purrazzo went back to the armbar, but at 47:35 Starkz grabbed the ropes to break the hold.

Purrazzo then went to a surfboard hold through the ropes, but Starkz pulled herself out of it. She hit a DDT and then went up top for a second Swanton. PUrrazzo kicked out at two and locked in a Venus De Milo hold. Starkz couldn’t get to the ropes and was forced to tap, giving the match and the RON Women’s Pure Championship to Purrazzo.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Billie Starkz

After the match, an injured Queen Aminata came down to the ring to congratulate Purrazzo and put herself in line for a future shot at the title.

It took 8 months, but the matches and outcome were worth it. Starkz was great in this match and Purrazzo had a counter for everything she threw at her. It was a killer opener and worthy finals for the Women’s Pure Tournament.

30-minute Iron Man match: Nigel McGuiness vs. Lee Moriarty

McGuinness is often called the greatest Pure Champion in Ring of Honor history. Moriarty is no slouch either, holding said title for 498 days as of today, becoming the longest reigning Pure Champion. This match is nothing but an absolute gift to wrestling fans and can be justifiably called a classic before the show has even started.

McGuinness came to the ring with his “classic” Pure Title belt, setting the tone for this technical clash. Moriarty came to the ring with Shane Taylor, which also set a certain tone (a rumbling one).

The bell rang, the clock started and the “Holy sh*t” chants began. The two chain wrestled for the first minute or so, with McGuinness wrapping Moirarty’s wrists in various locks and holds before Moriarty kicked him off.

Neither man was in a rush here, using every second of the thirty minutes to place very deliberate and clearly thought out holds. Moriarty started showing a cocky side though, often mugging for the crowd.

The speed picked up about 5 minutes in with a flurry of offense from Moriarty that ended in a Border City Stretch. McGuinness tapped at 26:10, giving Moriarty the first point of the match.

Moriarty started working the clock, stepping out to talk to Taylor and taking his time engaging McGuinness. McGuinnes put on a wrist lock and Moriarty scrambled to the ropes to break it. McGuinness repsonded by grabbing Moriarty’s ear and twisting his head around to work the neck.

From there, the two locked arms and took turns wrenching on them. McGuinness eventually stepped over and hyperextended Moriarty’s arm. McGuinness tried to pick up the pace, but Moriarty kept it as slow as possible to eat up the clock.

McGuinness started getting frustrated at the pace and left an opening for Moriarty to put on an Octopus. McGuinness powered out and locked in an abdominal stretch, but Moriarty was able to get to the ropes to break it.

Moriarty tripped McGuinness onto the second rope and hit a 619. McGuinness went for a Tower of London, but Moriarty slipped out of the ring to run down more time. McGuinness followed and threw some European uppercuts, or as he calls them, Uppercuts.

Moriarty slid back into the ring and grabbed McGuinness in a quick rollup. The Ref counted to three and Moriarty went up 2-0 at 18:30.

McGuinness hit a hammerlock DDT and went back to working Moriarty’s arm. Moriarty reversed it into an ankle lock. McGuinness kicked his way out of it and put on London Dungeon. He was too close to the ropes though and Moriarty grabbed it to break the hold.

McGuinness changed tactics and went to strikes, kicking Moriarty in the back before grape vining the arm again. He got Moriarty in a shoulder stretch in the center of the ring, but Moriarty kicked out. Not before McGuinness hyperextended his arm again.

As the match passed the halfway point, McGuinness put Moriarty on the top turnbuckle. Moriarty pushed him off and hit a high crossbody. He went for an elbow drop, but McGuinness moved and turned it into a London Dungeon. Again, Moriarty was able to get to the ropes to break it.

Moriarty went for a spring board, but McGuinness dodged it and drove him into the corner to chop him as hard as he could. Moriarty reversed it for some chops of his own, but McGuinness poked the eye and regained control.

McGuinness put Moriarty in London Dungeon at 10:45 and Moriarty tapped, giving McGuinness his first point and making it 2-1 in favour of the Pure Champion.

McGuinness went back to the London Dungeon, but Moriarty flipped him over and got a three count to move the score to 3-1 at 9:55.

McGuinness continued working the arm and shoulder of Moriarty, but Moriarty wouldn’t go down. McGuinness put on an inside scissor lock to Moriarty’s arm, before using the London Dungeon again. Moriarty pulled his ankle and McGuinness fell, breaking the hold.

With eight minutes left, Moriarty switched to defense, trading blows with McGuinness while time ticked away. Another London Dungeon with a surfboard element lured Moriarty into a triangle choke. Moriarty resorted to fingerpulling, but McGuinness transitioned in to a Border City Stretch. Moriarty’s toe just grazed the ropes though, ending the hold.

Four minutes were left when McGuinness tried to grab Moriarty, but Moriarty squirmed out of everything. McGuinness went for a figure four, but Moriarty got out of it just in time to eat a flying lariat. McGuinness went for the pin, but Moriarty kicked out.

Moriarty slid to the outside and Shane Taylor stepped between them. That allowed Moriarty to grab McGuinness in a choke, holding it until 7 of the countout before scrambling back into the ring ring. McGuinness followed, but ended up right into a Border City Stretch. McGuinness rolled it over into a pin though, picking up a three-count with just a minute and a half left.

With the score 3-2 and time short, McGuinness and Moriarty ran into each other. With 30 seconds left, McGuinness hit a drop toe hold and pinned Moriarty. He got another quick one, but Shane Taylor knocked McGuinness out and Moriarty got another pin to tie the match at four as time expired.

McGuinness started up the ramp, but Moriarty grabbed a mic and said that they werent finished. Surprising no one officials decided that the match would go to one more fall, sudden death.

McGuinness returned to the ring and tried to steal one quick, but Moriarty kicked out. McGuinness tried two quick rollups, but no dice. The two rolled through a bunch of times, but neither could score the pin. The two rolled around until Moriarty was able to get a bridge pin and win the match, 5-4 in overtime.

Match Result: Lee Moriarty defeated Nigel McGuinness

After the match, McGuinness quieted the crowd and handed his classic Pure Title belt to Moriarty. The two bowed to each other, showing the ultimate respect to the passing of the torch.

27 minutes of that match were amazing. The quick pins to tie things up at the end were too fast and just made things confusing. I know what they were trying to do, but someone needs to let wrestling know that it’s ok for an iron man match to just end. They don’t ALL need to go to overtime.

-Next, Moxley decided that he was done with commentary and grabbed a mic to address his hometown Ohio crowd. He cut a promo on Konosuke Takeshita who he will face on Collision tomorrow. Then he left.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ROH Women’s Television Championship: Mercedes Mone (c) vs Red Velvet

As is required by law, if there is a vacat title in wrestling, it must end up on Mone’s shoulders. Red Velvet carried the TV title for 481 days before she was forced to step back due to injury. That allowed Mone to become the “Interim” champion until the two held a unification match on the Not-ROH show, Collision on November 19th, 2025. Mone won that and Velvet gets a chance at revenge here in the rematch.

Velvet jumped Mone during the introductions and began pounding her on the mat. Mone got back up and went to hit Velvet with her TBS title belt, but the Ref intervened and the two locked up and rolled through a few pinning combinations.

From there, they traded high speed shots until Velvet went for a flipping slam and Mone caight her and dropped her on her head. Money went to a couple of suplexes and earned a two count before hanging Velvet up in the ropes.

Velvet fought back, but Mone put an end to the comeback with a stiff forearm. Mone went for some three amigos suplexes and after the third, thew Velvet to the mat. Mone went up top for a crossbody, but Velvet got the knees up. A groaning Mone came back with a dropkick into the corner.

Mone started talking smack which drew Velvet out of her shell and she started throwing punches and then a big DDT. She executed a bulldog, but Mone kicked out at two. Velvet charged Mone in the corner, but Mone caught her in a lungblower, sending her to the outside.

Mone went for a baseball side, but Velvet caught her and wrapped her up in the ring skirt. Mone fought back and climbed the stairs for a leaping knee strike, driving Velvet into the concrete. Mone threw Velvet back into the ring where Velvet tried a quick pin, but no victory.

Mone tried to set Velvet up for the Money Maker, but Velvet reversed it. Mone grabbed her and set her on the turnbuckle. Mone set Velvet up for a super Money Maker, but Velvet fought back and hit a sunset flip into a two count.

Velvet hit a Stir It Up Kick, but Mone kicked out at two. She went for a big right hand, but Mone hit a lungblower to get a two count of her own.

Mone got up first and set Velvet up on the turnbuckle. She went for a Gut wrench from the second rope, but Velvet reversed it into a destroyer. She went for Mama’s Kitchen, but Mone kicked out at two and a half.

Mone pulled Velvet face down onto the bottom rope, stunning her. She set her up for the Money Maker, but Velvet turned it into a face buster. Velvet hit a spinning kick and Mone grabbed her in a crossface. Velvet got her foot on the ropes and used it to kick over and pin Mone to regain the ROH Women’s Television Title.

Match Result: Red Velvet defeated Mercedes Mone

That was, as one old Oklahoman would say, a Slobberknocker. Those two beat the hell out of each other. The finish was a little quick, but no one thought Mone was going to be sticking around ROH so Velvet winning was no big shock. She earned it though and I’m looking forward to her next feud.

Vacant ROH Tag Team Championship: The Beast Mortos & Sammy Guevara vs. Adam Priest & Tommy Billington

Guevara had a long run with the belts with Dustin Rhodes as his partner, until Rhodes had to vacate for injury reasons. Then, he had a reign with Rush, who had to vacate for injury reasons. The lesson here? Mortos should be careful being Guevara’s partner. As for Priest and Billington, they are a great team and great wrestlers, but it’s kind of strange that they get the shot here and nhot one of the more established ROH team. But I digress.

Billington and Priest came to the ring with Jay Lethal for some reason, who left when they got there.

Guevara and Billington started things off. Guevara took a little too long showboating and Billington went to work with hard strikes and technical holds. Guevara grabbed Billington’s nose to break a hold and went back to showboating while the crowd chanted for Mortos.

Guevara gave them what they wanted and tagged in Mortos. Priest did the same and charged him. Mortos no-sold the shoulder tackle and Priest ducked a Mortos charge into the corner. Priest didn’t waste any time and peppered Mortos with shots.

Billington tagged in and got Mortos off his feet with a jumping kick. Priest joined him for a douible team back body drop while Guevara stole Ian Riccaboni’s headset and joined commentary for a moment. Mortos knocked Priest down and shoved Billington off the apron. He tagged in Guevara who took some shots at the depleted Priest.

Guevara pretended he was going for Spanish fly, but then just kicked Priest in the face before tagging Mortos back in. Priest tried to escape, but Mortos followed him and dragged him back into the ring. Mortos hit a lungblower on Billington and Guevara followed it up with a knee from the top rope.

Mortos and Guevara isolated Priest in their corner and took turns beating him up. Priest fought back though, biting Mortos. That just seemed to make Mortos madder, and he continued the beating until Priest was able to slip a DDT in and tag Billington.

Billington cleaned house and went up top, hitting Mortos with a missile dropkick. Billington started to make headway, but Guevara entered the fray, giving Mortos a second to regain his composure. Mortos got Billington in an electric chair and Guevara went to make it a Doomsday Device but Billington ducked it.

Priest and Billington combined for a suplex/lariat on Mortos, knocking him off his feet. They went for a double suplex, but Mortos threw them off. Priest managed to land a hirricanrana and Billington went up top. Hechicero got involved out of nowhere and Guevara hit a low blow on him in the melee.

Mortos went up top for a moonsault, landed it and pinned Billington to win the match and the ROH Tag Titles for him and Guevara.

Match Result: The Beast Mortos & Sammy Guevara defeated Adam Priest & Tommy Billington

So, does this make Guevara a three-time tag champ? He’s definitely the first three-time tag champ who has never actually lost the titles.

    Eddie Kingston vs. Josh Woods

Eddie Kingston is great. Josh Woods is great. So lets watch them hit each other for a bit, shall we? This is actually a tune-up match for Kingston’s upcoming match with AEW Champion Samoa Joe. As I look at the clock and see that this show has been on for three hours and there are still five matches to go, I can say yes, this is a good use of ROH time.

I’ll say this though: Kingston looks great. He’s really slimmed down and while he hasn’t lost his brawler edge, he looks very fit.

The bell rang and they grappled into the corner. Woods tried a takedown, but Kingston turned it into a series of stomps. Woods then hit a springboard knee to the head and put on a key lock, working Kingston’s arm.

The two started trading strikes with Woods pounding Kingston’s arm before whipping him into the corner. Woods threw some splashes and knees in the corner before suplexing Kingston into a two count.

Kingston got up and started throwing machine gun chops in the corner. Woods grabbed him into an armbar and Kingston wailed in pain. He finally reached the ropes and Woods was forced to break the hold. Woods went back to working the arm, but Kingston turned it into a lariat in the corner.

Kingston delivered a second rope suplex to Woods, but only got a two count. Woods fought back, driving his knee into Kingston’s shoulder. Woods went for a bridge pin, but Kingston grabbed the ropes. Kingston caught Woods in a springboard and turned it into an exploder.

The straps came down and Kingston dumped Woods down with a DDT to get the pin.

Match Result: Eddie Kingston defeated Josh Woods

Hey, that’s great. I’m glad that Eddie could have this practice match before taking on Samoa Joe. That’s called SYNERGY, friends.

ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship: Shane Taylor Promotions (c)(Shane Taylor, Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean vs Skyflight (Scorpio Sky, Dante Martin & Darius Martin)

STP are the most dominant group in wrestling right now. They kick ass, talk trash and no one has come close to taking those belts since they won them at Death Before Dishonor. Also, I accidentally typed “Skyfight” instead of Skyflight and I think they might have missed an opportunity there.

All six men brawled off the top, with Sky and Dean remaining in the ring. When the dust settled, Darius had tagged in and brought Dante with him. They double teamed Dean and Darious tagged back in, bringing Sky with him. Dean drove Sky into the STP corner and all three started punching him.

Taylor tagged in and he and Sky threw hands. Dean tagged in and went for the BBC but Sky moved and sent Dean to the mat before diving through the ropes to take out Taylor. Bravo then dove onto Sky, completing the Sky-fecta.

Taylor and Darius faced off in the ring and Darius made the mistake of throwing hands. Taylor knocked him silly and hit a 747 splash before tagging in Bravo for a devastating shoulder block. Dean joined him and they went for a double back body drop, but Darius saw it coming and kicked them both. Bravo responded with a DDT and the dance continued.

STP took turns splashing Darius in the corner and then Dean leapt over the top rope to take out Dante and Sky. That made Dante made and he cleaned house coming in off of a hot tag. He even leapt off the top rope onto Taylor on the outside.

Dante and Bravo remained legal as Trish Adora grabbed Dante’s ankle. Turnabout was fair play and Leila Grey grabbed Bravo’s ankle. That brought both women into the ring and then started throwing punches. That allowed Anthony Agogo to get in the ring, but Christopher Daniels cut him off. That left Bravo and Dante in the ring and Dante hit a slingshot cutter to get a two count, broken up by Dean.

Taylor came in and Dante hit a DDT form the top rope to send him packing. Bravo hit a Carlie Crossover and Sky came in on a blind tag and took out both Infantry members. Taylor reached through the ropes and knocked Darious into nest week, allowing Bravo to stack him up and get the victory to retain the titles.

Match Result: Shane Taylor Promotions defeated Skyflight

I loves me some STP and this was as hard hitting as they come. I love it when STP takes on teams that can fly with the Infantry and it made for some exciting action.

AEW National Championship: Ricochet (c) vs Dalton Castle

Inaugural AEW National Champion Ricochet defends the title he won two weeks ago in a Casino Gauntlet Match here against Dalton Castle because, why not? Ricochet? Good! Castle? Gooder! An AEW title defended on an ROH event for the first time? Again, why not?

Off the top, the two chain wrestled, with Ricochet matching Castle’s technical prowess blow for blow. Ricochet went for an elbow drop, but Castle dodged it and started working the core with an alligator roll. Castle ragdolled Ricochet for a bit, but Ricochet escaped and went out of the ring.

A frustrated Ricochet threw chairs, kicked stairs and then made the mistake of kicking on of Castle’s Boys. That brought him out of the ring, and Ricochet scrambled back in to land a corkscrew dive. He tossed Castle back in and started hitting Stone Cold style elbows off the ropes.

Castle fought back, driving Ricochet into the corner. Ricochet picked up the speed and landed a pendulum dropkick to get a two count. Ricochet went up top, but Castle rolled out of the ring. Ricochet threw him back in and went up top again, but Castle rolled out of the ring one more time.

This happened three times while the crowd chanted “roll forever.”

Castle snapped to attention after that though and caught Ricochet, delivering a huge suplex. The Boys cheered as Castle threw Ricochet around the ring, hitting suplex after suplex. Castle went for a Bangarang, but Ricochet turned it into a sunset flip followed by a running shooting star press.

Castle ducked a lariat and almost got a Bangarang on, but Ricochet reversed it into an around the world DDT for a two count. Ricochet went up top for a flipping slam, but Castle moved. Ricochet brought Castle out onto the apron, but it didn’t work out as Castle suplexed him on the apron (the boy-est part of the ring!).

Back in the ring, Castle went for Bangarang again and finally landed it. He covered Ricochet, but only got a two count. Ricochet hit a spirit gun before Castle could recover and got the pin to retain the AEW National Title.

Match Result: Ricochet defeated Dalton Castle

I love ultra-serious Ricochet taking on the weird and wonderful Castle. This was a fun match and I’m glad it happened, but I’m also pretty excited to move on to the first part of the double main event!

Survival of the Fittest match for the ROH World Championship: Bandido (c) vs Blake Christian vs The Beast Mortos vs Sammy Guevara vs Komander vs Hechicero

Bandido has carried the ROH title for 244 days after winning it from Chris Jericho. He’s defended it in some of the best matches I’ve seen all year, against all comers, including Hechicero. Komander has been tearing it up recently (defeating Mortos just last night) but the rest of the field in this match are headscratchers. Guevara and Mortos are a tag team (and now Champions), so will they help or hinder one another? Christian, for his part, complained his way into the match, like you do.

The bell rang and alliances were quickly formed. Guevara, Mortos and Hechicero, Bandido and Komander, and Christian was left alone because only Lee Johnson likes Christian. After some posing and crowd work, the fight began with Bandido, Komander and Christian bailing form the ring.

Guevara, Mortos and Hechicero went after Bandido and Komander and Christian casually watched from the entrance ramp. In the ring, Guevara tried to take Komander’s mask off while Hechicero wrapped Bandido’s ankle in a chair on the outside.

Hechicero entered the ring and stomped Komander with Mortos. Christian asked if he could play and Hechicero and Mortos surrounded him. Christian flew through the ropes and he and Guevara had a really fun high-speed exchange. Guevara came off the ropes and Christian hit him with a Spanish Fly.

Mortos then hit a bulldog on Christian. Jay Lethal was shown on a monitor disapproving of Guevara using his strut.

In the ring, Mortos and Guevara turned on Hechicero, stomping him in the corner. Hechicero fought back, but it was short lived as the stomping continued. Hechicero got some momentum, sending Mortos into the corner and hitting a backbreaker on Guevara.

Bandido and Komander entered and sent Hechicero packing to the outside. Christian followed him with a dive and then threw him back into the ring, trying to ally himself with Bandido and Komander. They didn’t buy it and kicked him out.

Komander and Bandido got together for the sickest top rope DDT I’ve ever seen on Hechicero and Christian. Komander then stood on Bandido’s shoulders and leapt out of the ring to take out Guevara, Christian and Hechicero. Then Bandido did the same to Mortos.

Christian wandered back into the ring just in time to take a double back elbow from Bandido and Komander. Komander hoisted Christian up and threw him onto Bandido’s knees. Komander and Bandido were about to face off when Guevara came in and knocked them both down.

Bandido hit an x-Knee and Komander hit his springboard 450 to pin and eliminate Guevara. That made Mortos mad, and he entered and hit a pop up samoan drop on Komander, a backbreaker on Christian and a big shoulder block on Hechicero.

Komander hit s spingboard poisonrana and Bandido landed a German suplex on Mortos. Christian then used Komander as a springboard to hit a Canadian destoryer on Mortos. That allowed Hechicero to slide in and hit a driver to pin and eliminate Mortos, clearing LFI from the match.

Hechicero put a cross armbar on Bandido, trying to get him to tap, but Christian broke it up. Hechicero turned his attention to Komander, but Komander dodged it. Bandido got Hechicero on his shoulder and slammed him. Bandido and Komander went up top, but Christian climbed up and hit a double poisonrana. He then hit a Lethal Injection on Komander, pinning and eliminating him.

Bandido, Hechicero and Christian remained and Hechicero and Christian joined forces to beat up Bandido. They took turns working him over, but Christian tried to roll up Hechicero, ending the budding friendship.

Bandido hurricanrana’d Hechicero out of the ring and then tossed Christian onto him. Bandido was the only one standing and he sent Christian back into the ring. Hechicero went up top and hit a frog splash, but Christian kicked out at two.

Bandido went for the 21-plex, but Christian reversed it into a Lethal Injection. He went for the pin, but Bandido kicked out. Christian went for a second Injection, but Bandido caught him with an X-Knee. Hechicero took advantage, hitting a spinning hammerlock backbreaker.

Hechicero grapevined Christian’s legs, twisting and turning him. Bandido got up and Hechicero put a Sleeper on him. Christian charged and Bandido broke free and hit a mexican destroyer to pin Christian, eliminating him.

That made Christian really mad and he hit a shoulder breaker on Bandido on his way out. Hechicero went for Bandido and continued working the previously injured shoulder. He grabbed the steel steps, but doctors came out to check Bandido before he could do anything with them.

Hechicero demanded a countout and the ref held him at bay while they checked on Bandido. Bandido climbed back into the ring and Hechicero brought a chair in. The ref removed it and Bandido started chopping Hechicero with one arm.

Hechicero threw him off and sent him to the corner for some punches to that injured shoulder. Hechicero suplexed Bandido on the ring apron, driving him shoulder first into the mat. He then placed the stairs next to the apron for a pile driver, but Bandido blocked it. Hechicero dove over the top rope, but Bandido moved and Hechicero landed on the steel steps.

Bandido got back in the ring and dove out onto Hechicero, quickly bringing him back into the ring for a frog splash. Hechicero kicked out at two though. Bandido started chopping Hechicero who demanded more.

Hechicero hit a flapjack and then rolled Bandido around, putting more pressure on the injured shoulder. Bandido then hit a poisonrana into a quick rollup to get the 1-2-3, eliminate Hechicero and retain the ROH World Title.

Match Result: Bandido survived Blake Christian, The Beast Mortos, Sammy Guevara, Komander, and Hechicero

After the match, Brody King came to the ring to congratulate his tag team partner.

That was a fun match, I love the Survival of The Fittest match concept and with the talent in the match, it was guaranteed to deliver. These multi-person matches can drag, but this one was well timed, with the eliminations coming fast enough, but not too fast. Great effort from everyone involved.

ROH Women’s Championship: Athena (c) w/Diamante vs Persephone

As of this writing, Athena has held the ROH Women’s World Championship for a measly 1092 days. Persephone is making waves coming out of CMLL, but I don’t konw if she has it to end the reign of the Forever Champion.

The two locked up and Persephone sent Athena into the corner. They were pretty evenly matched strength-wise and Athena was doing her best to get into the head of Persephone. Fed up, Persephone slapped her and they locked up in a test of strength.

Athena came out on top and tried for a pin, but Persephone arched her back, lifting her shoulders. Persephone popped up and hit a hurricanrana. Athena rolled out of the ring, demanding “time out.” after a quick discussion with Diamante, Athena re-entered the ring.

Athena tried to get the drop on Persephone, but she saw it coming and dropkicked Athena to the mat. Athena exited the ring again and Persephone followed. Athena got the jump on her, but Persephone countered and sent Athena into the barricades twice.

Persephone went to throw Athena into the stairs, but Diamante got between them, allowing Athena to leap off the stairs and drive her knees into Persephone’s back. Athena threw her back into the ring, but was favouring her back as she climbed in after her.

Athena started driving knees into Persephone’s sides, then hung her up on the ropes for some stiff kicks. Athena picked up the speed and suplexed Persephone in spite of the pain in her back. Persephone tried to fight back, but Athena knocked her down and hit a running senton.

Athena pulled Persephone up by the hair and threw her into the corner. Athena charged, but Persephone moved out of the way and grabbed her in a tilt-o-whirl backbreaker. Athena got caught by Persephone again for another backbreaker. Persephone then repeatedly drove her knees into Athena’s back, finishing up with a standing surfboard.

Persephone sent Athena into the corner, smashing her face on the turnbuckle. She stomped Athena on the bottom rope and then threw her into the corner. Athena put a big boot up and tried a waistlock takedown but Persephone punched her in the back. Athena left the ring and Persephone followed. They started throwing punches and Athena sent Persephone into the barricades.

Persephone came back and lifted Athena up by the throat, slamming her onto the announce table. Persephone threw her back into the ring and knocked Athena down with a huge kick. The two ran the ropes and then ran into each other with a double clothesline.

They got back to their feet and Persephone sent Athena back down with a pump-kick. She stomped Athena in the corner and started throwing fists and chops at her. She went for a stalling splash, but Athena dropkicked her, sending Persephone to the outside. Athena dove through the ropes onto her. She tried it again, but Persephone caught her in mid air and turned it into a fallaway slam.

Persephone went for a powerbomb, but Diamante made the save. Athena tried to throw a forearm, but Persephone ducked and she hit Diamante. Persephone threw Athena back into the ring and went up top for a shotgun dropkick. She went for a cover but Athena kicked out at two.

Persephone put Athena in a Texas Cloverleaf, well out of reach of the ropes. Athena struggled but finally made it there, breaking the hold. Persephone charged, but Athena caught her in a flapjack on the top rope. Athena hit a springboard Moonsault, but Persephone kicked out.

Persephpone hoisted Athena up for a Razor’s Edge, but Athena reversed it into a Koji Clutch. Persephone was able to get up though and Athena broke the hold with some running knees. She grabbed her again and re-applied the Koji Clutch. After some time, Persephone was able to get her foot on the ropes.

Athena got up first and started kicking Persephone. Persephone caught her leg and went for a bridge after a series of Northern Lights Suplexes. Persephone went for another Razor’s Edge, this time hitting it in the middle of the ring. Somehow, Athena kicked out though.

Persephone went up top but Athena scrambled up and hit a suplex, dropping her on her head. Athena went up and hit an O-Face and that was it. She pinned Persephone 1-2-3 and retained her title. Athena will see 1100 days as Champion.

    Match Result: Athena defeated Persephone

ROH PPV events never fail to deliver and honestly for $10, they are absolutely worth the money. It was a damn good night of wrestling and a great way to finish out the 2025 ROH PPV slate.

Bandido shares message to Brody King after AEW Full Gear

Bandido says he’ll always be by Brody King’s side.

King and Bandido lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to FTR at Full Gear, concluding Brodido’s three month reign with the belts. Following the loss, Bandido shared a message to his partner on Instagram:

“Hermano!! I write this to say thank you for everything!! Tonight was not our night but we went so far! In the beginning, nobody believed in us. Now, we made wrestling history!!! So don’t be sad. The diamond was discovered & it’s impossible to cover its brightness!! Remember you taught me how to never stop fighting!!! And that’s what we need to do now! I love you hermano! And I will always be by your side!”

Brodido won the titles in a three-way match at AEW All In: Texas against FTR and the then-champions Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. Throughout their 90-day reign, they successfully defended the titles against Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta, Galeon Fantasma in CMLL, against JetSpeed, the Young Bucks and Hechicero & Josh Alexander in a four-way at All Out, and GOA’s Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona. Their final successful title defense came against Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada at WrestleDream.

Full Gear was the 18th time the AEW World Tag Titles have changed hands. FTR and The Young Bucks are the only teams to have won them more than once, having each had three reigns with FTR’s win on the pay-per-view.

    Bandido’s Instagram post is below:

TNT title match part of updated AEW Collision lineup

Three new matches are set for Saturday’s Collision.

During a livestream, Tony Khan announced that Kyle Fletcher was looking to defend the TNT title ahead of Full Gear, where he’s set to face Mark Briscoe. Khan decided to give the opportunity to Scorpio Sky, mentioning that he says has been undefeated since returning to AEW earlier this year.

Khan also took time to praise Maya World and Hyan, noting that they stepped up at the last minute to take on TayJay last week. He said they would get another chance to prove themselves on Saturday by taking on Riho and Alex Windsor. World & Hyan were last minute replacements for Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who walked out of last week’s AEW Collision after they were told they’d only get three minutes for their match that they were scheduled to lose.

In his final announcement, Khan said an All Star 8-Man Tag Team match would take place. Bandido will team up with Juice Robinson and JetSpeed to take on FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush.

Here is the updated lineup for Collision:

AEW Collision, Saturday, November 15 —

    • TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher defends against Scorpio Sky
    • Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Maya World & Hyan
    • All Star 8-Man Tag: Bandido, Juice Robinson, JetSpeed vs. FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush
    • Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis

AEW team Brodido announced for indie match

AEW Tag Team Champions Brodido will be working The Good Brothers in an indie match later this month.

It’s been announced that a non-title bout between Brody King & Bandido and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson will take place in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Saturday, November 29. The match is part of the annual WrestleCade SuperShow — which is a Thanksgiving weekend tradition in Winston-Salem during the WrestleCade convention.

The show is happening at the Benton Convention Center and will be broadcast via Title Match Network. Also announced for the card is a singles bout with Killer Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux) facing Psycho Boy Fodder (w/ Angelina Love).

Originally put together as a makeshift team, Brodido have thrived in the AEW tag division, becoming champs this August. They have a title defense coming up soon against FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) at AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view on November 22.

This will be the first time Brodido have faced The Good Brothers. Gallows & Anderson — who have experience in WWE, NJPW, TNA, AEW, and more — are set to debut for MLW on November 20.

WrestleCade 2025 is being held from November 28-30, with Sting, Trish Stratus, Kazuchika Okada, Jushin Thunder Liger, The Hardys, and Arn Anderson among those who will be attending the convention portion of the weekend.

    Fright Night Collision!

    Taped in Edinburg, Texas.

The show started off with a ppv-quality “Day of the Dead” inspired video package previewing tonight’s matches.

Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were on commentary.

Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada vs. The Acclaimed

Don Callis joined the commentary team for this one, as he is wont to do when his men are wrestling. The match was about both teams miscommunicating and fighting with each other.

Max Caster is still carrying around his “Best Wrestler Alive” framed paperwork, so now Bowens is carrying around five framed magazine covers.

Bowens caught Takeshita with a snap mare and celebrated like he won the World title. They exchanged chops, then Takeshita caught Bowens with a flying clothesline. Bowens caught Takeshita with a spinning DDT, and Caster forced his own tag into the match.

Okada caught Caster with a knee to the back, but a miscommunication sent Okada and Takeshita on the floor. Bowens claimed up the top for a crossbody, but while he was doing that, Caster hit a tope on their opponents. Okada and Takeshita came back and each hit one of their opponents with a DDT.

Back in the ring, Okada forced his own tag into the match against Caster, and hit him with the falling elbow off the top. Okada then flipped off Takeshita, and almost got rolled up in the process.

Okada pulled Caster out of the way of a Takeshita charge in the corner to hit him for a neckbreaker. While Takeshita and Okada argued, Bowens got the tag. Bowens hit Takeshita with a dropkick that sent him into Okada. Bowens actually held his own against both guys for a bit, until Okada caught him with a flapjack.

After a commercial, Caster caught Takeshita with a crossbody off the top and followed up with a Russian Legsweep. Caster hit an inverted death valley driver for a near fall. The Acclaimed tried for a Magic Killer, but Takeshita got out of it. Okada made the save on a pin attempt and got the tag, but Bowens took him down with a neckbreaker.

Bowens tried to go to the top, but Okada caught him and set up a superplex. Takeshita got under Okada and powerbombed him to the mat while Okada was delivering the suplerplex.

Okada went for a dropkick, but Bowens avoided it and delivered an inverted Olympic Slam for a near fall. Bowens went for a rolling forearm, but Okada avoided it and Takeshita gave him a blue thunder bomb. Okada went for the rain maker, but Bowens avoided that and Okada almost nailed Takeshita.

Bowens hit Okada with his uranage, but Caster made the blind tag and went to deliver his big elbow. But Bowens wouldn’t get out of the way.  So Caster and Bowens argued and brawled. Okada grabbed Bowens and dumped him with a Rainmaker. Okada went for Caster (the legal man) next, but Takeshita got in and hit The Raging Fire to get the pinfall. And both teams still aren’t getting along.

Result: Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada defeated The Acclaimed (11:29 aired)

    — Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron think that their ability to smile (and enticing proportions) will allow them to withstand the assault of Mercedes Moné and Athena and their bunches of titles in their tag team quarterfinal match this Wednesday.

    — Toni Storm narrated a video package of Storm and Mina Shirakawa highlights.

Mercedes Moné vs. Olympia for the CMLL World Women’s Championship

Kris Statlander was on commentary for this match.  Mercedes only had four belt boys with her tonight, so some of them had to double and triple up. Moné carried her CMLL and TBS Championship belts with her to the ring.

Moné tried for a rana early, but Olympia blocked it. Moné eventually did get her over and both women exchanged cradles for near falls. Olympica laid out Moné in the corner and then did an impressive handstand on the top rope before dropping down on a prone Mercedes. Olympia then gorilla-pressed Mercedes with one arm before dropping her to the mat.

They fought over to the post on the outside. Mercedes rammed her into the turnbuckle hooks and Olympia dropped to the floor. Mercedes followed up with a meteora off the apron. It looked like she landed awkwardly but seemed fine.

After a commercial, Olympia was back in control in the ring.  Olympia did another cool spot where she went for a dropkick while Moné was in the ropes, but she avoided it. Olympia then went through the ropes and skinned the cat back into the ring, landing on Mercedes and going back on the attack.

Moné tried a monkey flip, but Olympia’s was too powerful, so Mercedes countered her power with a springboard DDT for a near fall. Moné caught Olympia with an arm breaker and went for the Money Maker, but Olympia countered with a cradle. Olympia picked up Mercedes with a fireman’s carry and dumped her face-first to the mat for another near fall.

Then went to the floor, and Mercedes threw Olympia into Statlander. Statlander and Moné got into each other’s faces, but Olympia pulled Moné back into the ring. Olympia sent Moné into the ropes but Mone snagged her in the Money Maker, and Olympia had to tap out.

Result: Merecedes Moné retained the CMLL World Women’s Championship by tap out (8:52 aired)

    — A recap of last Wednesday’s Dynamite aired, highlighting Orange Cassidy’s challenge for Blood and Guts.

    — Last Wednesday after Dynamite, Rene Paquette interviewed the Young Bucks following their loss. Don Callis interrupted to let the Bucks know that there’s a Million Dollar Tag match on the table at Full Gear: The Bucks teaming with Callis’s man Josh Alexander v. Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express. The Bucks looked conflicted about accepting the match, and it wasn’t in the official rundown of Full Gear later in the show.

Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize vs. Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir (w/ Penelope Ford)

Newell is the former Teagan Nox, and Alize is a student from Booker T’s school. Jon Moxley joined the commentary team to talk up the Bayne/Shafir team.

Newell and Alize attacked before the bell, and actually got the advantage on Bayne for a bit. They caught Bayne with a double superkick. Bayne finally had enough and gave both of them a German suplex at the same time, and the squash was on.  Bayne tagged in Shafir, who floored Newell with kicks and throws. Bayne hit a running Liger Bomb on one of her opponents while Shafir choked out the other, and that was that.

Match Result: Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir defeated Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize (2:28)

    Women’s Blood and Guts Announcement

Rene Paquette made an announcment of the two all-star teams for the first ever Women’s Blood and Guts match: Thekla, Syke Blue, Julia Hart, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, Mercedes Moné will take on Jamie Hayer, Queen Aminata, Harley Cameron, WIllow Nightingale, Toni Storm and Kris Statlander.

Komander, Mark Briscoe & Roderick Strong vs. Dralístico, The Beast Mortos & Sammy Guevara

Guevara now has a Vince McMahon style pencil-thin mustache which is the worst thing to happen to an AEW wrestler’s face since Cody’s tattoo. But at least Sammy can shave that off.

Briscoe and Mortos squared off and have a nice little power battle. Guevara jumped on commentary for a minute and put over Nigel. Briscoe landed on his feet out of a Mortos backdrop and delivered some redneck kung fu. Komander got the tag and Guevara charged in, getting backdropped over the ropes for his troubles.

Komander came off the top and ran right into a knee from Guevara while everyone else brawled on the floor, with the LFI guys getting the advantage.

After a break, Komander and Dralístico were fighting in the ring. Komander hit a springboard destroyer. Dralístico tried for a powerbomb, but Komander flipped into a face buster. Strong and Guevara got the tags, and Strong dominated Guevara with a backbreaker and an Olympic Slam for a near fall. Mortos ran in and hit Strong with a headbutt. Mortos hit a backstabber, then held Strong open for a double stomp from Dralístico.

Strong got the tag to Briscoe, who took it to Mortos and Dralístico. Briscoe hit Dralístico with an exploder, then sent Guevara over the top rope with a right hand. Briscoe came off the top with a twisting corkscrew moonsault on his opponents on the floor.

Back in the ring, Briscoe dodged a corkscrew kick from Dralístico, then hit a Jaydriller for the pinfall.

Match Results: Komander, Mark Briscoe & Roderick Strong defeated Dralístico, The Beast Mortos & Sammy Guevara (9:22 aired)

In setting up a recap of the angle of the year, Tony Schiavone admitted that he was complicit in Hangman Adam Page’s scheme to attack Samoa Joe.

    — After Dynamite Wednesday, Eddie Kingston tried to console Hook after his loss, while some cameraman questioned why Hook tapped out so quickly. “When you’re caught, you’re caught. Live to fight another day.”

    MXM TV Casting Call

MXM dressed as each other for Halloween. Madden as Tara Valkyrie was quite the sight. Anyway they made their open challenge which led to…

Ace Austin, Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson v. Mason Madden, Mansoor, and Johnny TV (w/ Taya Valkyrie)

The crowd was especially into Ace Austin. Juice Robinson needs to go back to his 2018/19 New Japan gear. That was amazing, and much better than black jeans and a black t-shirt. Mansoor did that stupid “six seven!” meme while punching Robinson in the corner and got powerbombed for his troubles. Good.

Gunn hit Mansoor with a Famouser, Austin followed up his finisher “The Fold” and Robinson took the pinfall.

Match Result: Austin, Gunn & Robinson squashed Madden, Mansoor & Johnny TV (3:28)

New for Dynamite Wednesday: Adam Page, Hook, & Eddie Kingston v. The Opps in a non-title match.

Bandido v. Mascara Dorado (w/ Alex Abrahantes) for the ROH World Championship

A brief video package and the ring introductions once both competitors got to the ring gave this match a real big fight feel.

Dorado and Bandido exchanged surfboards in a crazy impressive sequence. Both guys knew what the other was going for and they kept countering each other. Dorado went for a dive on the floor, but Bandido got in the ring and Dorado landed on his feet. Bandido then went for his own drive but Dorado countered and sent Bandido into the ring barricade. Bandido hurt his arm on the landing.

Back in the ring, Dorado caught Bandido with a back elbow for a near fall. Dorado and Bandido exchanged chops. Bandido caught Dorado with a boot and a Tornio, then did a one-handed press slam of Dorado, despite his arm injury. The fight went to he floor, where Bandido sent Dorado into the apron face-first. Bandido followed that up with a dive.

Back in the ring, Bandido hit a frog splash for a near fall. Dorado came back and set up a crucifix powerbomb off the top, but sent Bandido down face-first instead. Dorado then hit a spinning DDT for a near fall.

They fought on the apron, and Bandido caught Dorado with a big boot. Bandido then pressed Dorado into a facebuster all the way to the floor, setting up another commercial break.

Back in the ring, Dorado dodged a charge in the corner, then hit a springboard crossbody. Dorado flipped off of Bandido’s shoulders and hit him with a step up rana to send Bandido to the floor. Dorado followed Bandido out with a tornio.

On the floor, Bandido came off the middle rope and nailed Bandido with a  a shooting star press to the floor. Back in the ring, Dorado came off the top and took Bandido down with a crucifix driver. The crowd chanted “This is Lucha!” while Dorado figured out what to do next.

Bandido came back with a running knee for a near fall. Dorado blocked a knee, and that sequence eventually led to Dorado suplexing Bandido. But he ran the ropes and Bandido flipped Dorado into a sit-out powerbomb. Both guys ran at each other with kicks and they both went down while the crowd chanted “Fight Forever!”

Dorado came off the top with a tornio into an arm drag, then rolled up Bandido for a near fall. Dorado caught Bandido with a La Magistral’s cradle for another near fall, and wrapped Bandido up in another crazy way for another near fall.

Dorado dumped Bandido to the mat and sprung to the top rope. Dorado went for a shooting star press, but Bandido got his knees up and cradled Dorado for two. Bandido tried for the 21-plex, but he came in too hot and rolled over the top rope. Bandido went to the top, but Dorado caught Bandido and hit him with a gamengiri, setting him up to be seated on the turnbuckles.

Dorado ran across the ring and went for a top rope rana, springing all the way onto Bandido’s chest and tried for the rana, but Bandido blocked it, tried for a power bomb, but Dorado blocked that hit the rana anyway for a near fall. Bandido got to his feet first, caught Dorado with a knee strike, and then hit the 21-plex for the pinfall.

This was absolutely tremendous. After the match, Bandido helped Dorado to his feet and both men hugged in a show of respect.

Match Result: Bandido pinned Mascara Dorado to retain the ROH World Championship (17:02 aired)

Bandido gets emotional following heartfelt backstage AEW moment

AEW champion Bandido recently shared an emotional moment.

Last week in San Antonio, Texas, tag-team champion and ROH World Champion Bandido engaged in an heartfelt moment with his family backstage at Dynamite. Recently sharing the video on All Elite Wrestling’s official social media, Bandido was captured alongside his abuela (grandmother).

The 30-year-old brought his abuela to the San Antonio show to watch him wrestle. While the promising star lost to Kazuchika Okada in the Unified Championship match, his abuela was proud to watch him grace the squared circle, regardless of the result.

Later in the video, Bandido and his abuela were shown getting emotional while reminiscing about his childhood. Laughing and tearing up, the moment beautifully captured the role Bandido’s family has played in his wrestling journey.

Fans also got to see Bandido’s grandmother meeting members of the All Elite Wrestling roster, and Bandido also introduced Tony Khan to his family. One of the most popular stars on the roster currently, Bandido and tag partner Brody King are now set to defend their titles against the winner of Young Bucks vs. FTR vs. JetSpeed vs. Jurassic Express this coming Wednesday.

Bandido is all praise for AEW president Tony Khan

Earlier this year, during an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, former AEW star Jack Hager dropped several heavy criticisms on his former boss, Tony Khan.

However, Bandido soon came to Khan’s support and praised his boss during his appearance on the Battleground Podcast.

“I’m very grateful with him. You know, he always believe in me since day one. Tony was very excited with me since PWG shows. And I’m just happy to be here now and that Tony believes in me. I just want to say thank you to Tony, thank you to all the company, and thank you to all my partners here because it’s such a great locker room over here.

Bandido was also presented with a signed Fulham FC jersey by Tony Khan at the Forbidden Door media scrum in London, earlier this year.

ROH World title rematch signed for next week

Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido will defend his title against CMLL’s Mascara Dorada in the headliner of next week’s ROH on HonorClub.

The match was announced during Thursday’s broadcast after Dorada picked up a victory over Angelico — his first and only in the promotion. It will be a rematch from their first-ever meeting that took place on June 17 as part of CMLL Martes Populares at Arena Mexico, a bout Bandido won.

The two have been on opposite ends of tag team matches three times since then and also competed in a three-way against Mistico on a Mexican indie show. The two did team together alongside JetSpeed on a mid-July edition of Collision.

Bandido just passed the 200-day mark in his second run as ROH World Champion and has six title successful title defenses. He and Brody King are also the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Dorada is currently both the CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion and one third of the CMLL World Trios Champions.
