Dynamite Diamond Ring finals official for AEW Dynamite on 34th Street

The Dynamite Diamond Ring finals are set following Wednesday’s Holiday Bash edition of Dynamite and Collision.

Decided in a 12-man battle royal, ROH World Champion Bandido and reigning AEW National Champion Ricochet were the final two competitors and will now square off on next Wednesday’s Dynamite on 34th Street to determine who earns the ring and a future title shot in January.

Ricochet benefited from having both Gates of Agony members in the match. The bout came down to those three men, Brody King and Bandido. King eliminated himself and Toa Liona on a clothesline while Bandido eliminated Bishop Kaun with a reverse frankensteiner to cement the final match.

It will be the first time in the ring’s six-year history that it will have a different holder other than MJF. It will also be the first ever singles meeting between Bandido and Ricochet.

The match also featured Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Mark Davis, Ace Austin, Shelton Benjamin, Josh Alexander, and Luchasaurus.

AEW All In notes: MJF’s ring, Grizzled Young Veterans, Willow Nightingale, Martha Hart

Here’s some additional news and notes from today’s AEW All In from London’s Wembley Stadium:

MJF tweeted earlier in the day that his Dynamite Diamond ring was stolen, calling England “a lawless country.” However, there was some doubt as to whether it was a swerve for something to come in his American/International title defense against Will Ospreay later.

That was not the case as MJF intended to use wrapped brass knuckles instead but was thwarted by the returning Daniel Garcia, leading to his title loss to Ospreay.

No further details were revealed about the circumstances of the ring’s disappearance, assuming it is indeed stolen and not a storyline.

The Grizzled Young Veterans aren’t done with AEW quite yet.

James Drake & Zack Gibson made a surprise appearance following the Young Bucks’ successful AEW Tag Team title defense over FTR and The Acclaimed. The two stared down the Jackson brothers before turning their attention to Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler, beating them down further and leaving them laying after hitting Grit Your Teeth.

They made their promotional in-ring debut this past April with a loss to The Acclaimed. The duo lost their RevPro Tag Team titles on Saturday, perhaps indicating they have a new contractual home.

As of this writing, AEW head Tony Khan has not officially designated them as #AllElite and under contract although Drake later posted “GRIZZLED. ALL ELITE. VETERANS.” on X:

Willow Nightingale will get to choose what the stipulation is for her CMLL Women’s title defense against Kris Statlander at next month’s All Out.

She earned the honor after she and Tomohiro Ishii defeated Statlander and Stokely Hathaway on the Zero Hour pre-show.

Martha Hart appeared during the pre-show alongside Tony Khan, congratulating both Owen Hart Foundation tournament winners ahead of their title shots at All In.

MJF retains AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring

MJF defeated Orange Cassidy to retain the Dynamite Diamond Ring on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

In the show’s main event, MJF retained the Diamond following a match filled with outside interference.

Inner Circle members Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Ortiz and Wardlow interfered on MJF’s behalf early in the match. Cassidy’s original seconds, Best Friends, plus Top Flight, Varsity Blondes and Brandon Cutler got involved later in the match.

Ultimately it was an assist from Miro that allowed MJF to retain the Ring.

After an Orange Punch, Cassidy seemed to have the match in hand. Wardlow placed MJF’s foot on the ropes to break the referee’s count. As a brawl ensued between the various factions at ringside, Miro ran in  with Kip Sabian. Miro then hammered Cassidy with a lariat.

With the referee unaware of Miro’s interference, MJF then covered for the pin.

Miro and Kip Sabian have been feuding with Cassidy and Best Friends since the October 14th edition of Dynamite, the show’s first anniversary episode.

With the victory, MJF will retain the Dynamite Diamond for another year. MJF won the 2019 match for the Dynamite Diamond, defeating Hangman Page.

Dynamite Diamond Ring match set for next week’s AEW Dynamite

The Dynamite Diamond ring match has been set for next week’s Dynamite.

MJF and Orange Cassidy were the final two men standing in the Dynamite Diamond battle royal that took place on tonight’s show. As a result, MJF will be defending the diamond ring he won last year in a singles match next week.

The finish had Wardlow, MJF, and Sammy Guevara target Jungle Boy, who was by himself. Jungle Boy fought back and had the advantage over Guevara, taking him to the top rope. MJF saw an opening and eliminated Jungle Boy by pushing him off the turnbuckle, but also eliminated Sammy Guevara in the process.

MJF and Wardlow celebrated as if they had won the match, but Wardlow then realized that Cassidy was on the floor, but had not been eliminated. Cassidy got thrown back in, but made a comeback after Wardlow accidentally crashed into MJF. Cassidy eventually eliminated Wardlow, setting the match for next week.

A ‘ultimatum’ between Inner Circle members over the direction of their group has also been announced for next week’s show.
