AEW reveals opponents for Collision trios match

AEW has revealed who Kris Statlander & The Babes of Wrath will be facing on Collision this weekend.

It had already been announced that Statlander, Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron would be teaming up for a trios match on Saturday’s Collision episode. AEW has now confirmed that Hyan, Maya World & VertVixen will be their opponents.

This matchup is happening just a few days before the Maximum Carnage edition of AEW Dynamite, where Statlander, Nightingale & Cameron are scheduled to face Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart & Skye Blue).

Statlander, Nightigale & Cameron hold all of the women’s gold in AEW at the moment with Statlander being Women’s World Champion, Nightingale being TBS Champion, and Nightingale & Cameron holding the Women’s Tag Team titles.

Hyan and Maya World are recent AEW signees, while VertVixen remains a free agent.

Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas is hosting this show as part of Collision’s month-long residency at the venue. Three matches have been booked so far:

Tony Khan, Dustin Rhodes, more comment on AEW signing Hyan & Maya World

Tony Khan and several other names associated with AEW have commented on the company’s recent signings of Hyan & Maya World.

Khan announced Hyan & World’s signing following their loss to the Sisters of Sin, Julia Hart and Skye Blue, on the AEW Worlds End Zero Hour show. He addressed their signing again at the post-event press conference.

Khan said:

“I think they’ve been doing a fantastic job.”

“Hyan and Maya World came in, they’ve delivered time after time. They’ve been putting on great matches. They’ve been getting more and more competitive.”

“Everybody in the locker room really respects them. They bring something great to the roster. We’ve been having great women’s tag team matches and having more and more strong wrestlers on the roster for singles and tag teams, because they are both great individual wrestlers too.”

“Every experience I’ve had with both of them individually and as a team has been positive. They had another great match on the Zero Hour.”

Dustin Rhodes also posted about their signing, writing:

“Super proud of Hyan and Maya!!! Welcome to the team!!! LFG!!!!! #AEW”

Several wrestlers also commented on AEW’s Instagram post announcing World and Hyan’s signing.

Mercedes Mone wrote, “😍🔥”

Leila Grey wrote, “Congrats ladies!! 👏👏👏👏”

Anna Jay: “👏”

Red Velvet wrote, “Well deserved 👏👏 congrats ladies!”

The two have gone 0-4 in tag matches for the promotion, dating back to their loss to Anna Jay and Tay Melo on the November 8 Collision taping. Individually, they’ve each wrestled a handful of times for AEW in the past, with Hyan having once challenged for the ROH Women’s World title against Mercedes Martinez on an episode of Dark: Elevation. Maya World was beaten by Megan Bayne on an episode of Dynamite in February and also lost to Thunder Rosa on Collision in July 2024.

Tony Khan confirms two new AEW signings

All Elite Wrestling has now officially signed two promising pro-wrestlers, Hyan and Maya World.

Earlier tonight, during the December 27th edition of Worlds End Zero Hour, Hyan & Maya World faced off against Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) in a brief match. Despite falling short against the two veteran AEW stars, All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan later announced the two as the promotion’s latest signings.

“They wrestled another fantastic match at the #AEWWorldsEnd Zero Hour tonight, and now it’s official: @_thehyan + @MayaWorldd are All Elite! Thank you all watching AEW Worlds End right now!”

The duo stepped up on short notice against TayJay (Anna Jay & Tay Melo) on the November 8th episode of AEW Collision, as they replaced Miranda Alize & Nixon Newell after they walked out. Their decision to replace the two wrestlers on AEW Collision became a key part of them signing up with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Since then, Hyan & Maya World have wrestled multiple times on AEW television but have yet to pick up a victory.

TNT title match part of updated AEW Collision lineup

Three new matches are set for Saturday’s Collision.

During a livestream, Tony Khan announced that Kyle Fletcher was looking to defend the TNT title ahead of Full Gear, where he’s set to face Mark Briscoe. Khan decided to give the opportunity to Scorpio Sky, mentioning that he says has been undefeated since returning to AEW earlier this year.

Khan also took time to praise Maya World and Hyan, noting that they stepped up at the last minute to take on TayJay last week. He said they would get another chance to prove themselves on Saturday by taking on Riho and Alex Windsor. World & Hyan were last minute replacements for Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who walked out of last week’s AEW Collision after they were told they’d only get three minutes for their match that they were scheduled to lose.

In his final announcement, Khan said an All Star 8-Man Tag Team match would take place. Bandido will team up with Juice Robinson and JetSpeed to take on FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush.

Here is the updated lineup for Collision:

AEW Collision, Saturday, November 15 —

  • TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher defends against Scorpio Sky
  • Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Maya World & Hyan
  • All Star 8-Man Tag: Bandido, Juice Robinson, JetSpeed vs. FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush
  • Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis

Eddie Kingston title defense booked for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed

Eddie Kingston’s Strong Openweight Championship will be on the line in Las Vegas later this month.

NJPW has announced that Kingston will defend his Strong Openweight title against Henare at Fighting Spirit Unleashed on Saturday, October 28. The show is taking place from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas and will be available to watch live as a pay-per-view on Fite TV.

Issues between Kingston and Henare date back to this summer’s G1 Climax. Kingston defeated Henare in a tournament match. Henare then attacked Kingston later in the tour. Kingston responded by brawling with Henare the next day.

Kingston is currently a double champion, holding both the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship and ROH World Championship. Only the Strong Openweight title will be up for grabs in his match against Henare.

Kingston became ROH World Champion by defeating Claudio Castagnoli in a title vs. title match at Dynamite Grand Slam last month.

NJPW has also confirmed that Giulia will defend the Strong Women’s Championship against Hyan at Fighting Spirit Unleashed. Hyan challenged Giulia to the match this past weekend.

Here’s everything that’s been announced for Fighting Spirit Unleashed so far:

  • Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston defends against Henare

  • Strong Women’s Champion Giulia defends against Hyan

  • Stephanie Vaquer & Zeuxis vs. Lluvia & Johnnie Robbie
  • Atlantis, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mistico & Atlantis Jr. vs. Rocky Romero, Tiger Mask, Soberano Jr. & Adrian Quest

Giulia challenged by HYAN for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed

HYAN wants to face Giulia for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.

Giulia successfully defended her title against Ami Sohrei on today’s Stardom show from Korakuen Hall. HYAN appeared via video and issued a challenge to Giulia for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed on October 28.

“You guys love, love, love Giulia. I understand why, she’s had a hell of a year. World of Stardom Champion, an Artist of Stardom Champion, the current New Japan Strong Women’s Champion. But I think you’ve just been getting lucky,” HYAN says in the video. “The Renaissance Woman HYAN has also had a hell of a year.”

“I’ve competed in top companies around the world, WXW in German, Impact and Ring of Honor in the United States, I’ve toured the United Kingdom with Revolution Pro. I’ve traveled all over the world looking for the strongest opponents so Giulia, I challenge you for your New Japan Strong Women’s Championship. Las Vegas, October 28, Fighting Spirit Unleashed, and your luck is about to run out.”

However, HYAN is not the only wrestler who appears to be targeting Giulia. As today’s show came to a close, Giulia was attacked by Michiko Miyagi.

Giulia was not the only wrestler to be attacked on Saturday’s show either. After Mayu Iwatani defeated AZM, she was assaulted by what Stardom is describing as a “group of mysterious masked crows.”

The same group of mysterious masked crows also attacked MIRAI earlier in the show.

Only two matches are confirmed for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed. The event takes place from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.

NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed on October 28 announced matches:

  • Stephanie Vaquer & Zeuxis vs. Johnnie Robbie & Lluvia
