Excalibur revealed the news during the broadcast as Bang Bang Gan member Austin Gunn teamed up with his father, Billy Gunn, to take on Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita. No other information was available on Robinson’s injury or when it was suffered.
Ace Austin, another member of the Bang Bang Gang, was also not present to compete due to travel issues.
Robinson last wrestled at AEW Worlds End when he teamed with Gunn to challenge FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) for the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a street fight.
Robinson missed significant time after breaking his fibula in a December 2024 Continental Classic tournament match. He made his return at last July’s All In: Texas in the Casino Gauntlet match. He also recently talked about a 2023 back injury and surgery that put him out of action.
Three new matches are set for Saturday’s Collision.
During a livestream, Tony Khan announced that Kyle Fletcher was looking to defend the TNT title ahead of Full Gear, where he’s set to face Mark Briscoe. Khan decided to give the opportunity to Scorpio Sky, mentioning that he says has been undefeated since returning to AEW earlier this year.
Khan also took time to praise Maya World and Hyan, noting that they stepped up at the last minute to take on TayJay last week. He said they would get another chance to prove themselves on Saturday by taking on Riho and Alex Windsor. World & Hyan were last minute replacements for Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who walked out of last week’s AEW Collision after they were told they’d only get three minutes for their match that they were scheduled to lose.
In his final announcement, Khan said an All Star 8-Man Tag Team match would take place. Bandido will team up with Juice Robinson and JetSpeed to take on FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush.
Here is the updated lineup for Collision:
AEW Collision, Saturday, November 15 —
TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher defends against Scorpio Sky
Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Maya World & Hyan
All Star 8-Man Tag: Bandido, Juice Robinson, JetSpeed vs. FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush
Juice Robinson is opening up about his recent injuries.
The AEW star spoke to Renee Paquette on the latest episode of Close Up. He first talked about his back injury that took place in 2023, requiring back surgery. The injury was bad enough that he was having problems moving one of his legs.
“I ruptured a disc in my lower back and it was pressing on a nerve and I was having issues with my leg. I was having trouble using it. It was the beginning of what could have gotten much worse. It’s not only scary, well I guess scary would be thinking oh, I’m not invincible. We get hurt a lot but spine, that’s like brain, heart…I’ve broken my hand, that’s bad…but spine, you need that. Every little thing, it’s controlled by that stack of dimes.”
“I thought it would be a lot harder than it was,” Robinson said about the back injury. “I was up moving pretty quick. It took a while to get back in the ring and then when I was just starting to get going and I snap my leg. That one was a lot harder than the back. I didn’t realize it, but it’s hard to sit down for four months, five months, and now you’re in a walking boot, just a long, long process. A lot of internal thinking.”
Mental mind games did come into play during his recovery, but Robinson said at the end of the day, this is his profession.
“I’ve been doing this for seventeen years which is crazy to think about for me because it’s not just what I want to do, it’s what I do, this is just what I do. I’m a pro wrestler. I want to do this as long as I can,” he said.
Robinson returned to the ring at AEW All In earlier this month along with The Gunn Club, who were also off television for a time. He competed in the Casino Gauntlet battle royal that was ultimately won by MJF.
Three quarters of the Bang Bang Gang made their respective returns during the men’s Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In.
The first was the new-look Juice Robinson, making his first appearance since breaking his fibula this past November in his first Continental Classic match. The 36-year-old was clean shaven, wearing long black tights with a black singlet as part of his new appearance.
Robinson entered the match at number 11 and mixed it up with Ricochet for several minutes until Toa Liona snuck into the ring and speared him. Bishop Kaun then entered the ring and the two beat on Robinson.
As Ricochet was about to finish him off and perhaps win the Gauntlet, The Gunn Club made their surprise return and came to Robinson’s aid, hitting the 3:10 to Yuma on Ricochet before they and the Gates of Agony battled to the back.
Colten & Austin Gunn hadn’t been seen on TV since failing to defeat AEW World Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate this past February. Due to injury, they have only wrestled twice since September 2024 and it’s unknown why they haven’t been on TV since that aforementioned loss.
Juice Robinson is getting closer to a return after suffering a broken fibula on AEW Collision last November.
In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Robinson is now a few weeks away from resuming in-ring training. He underwent surgery near the end of last year to repair a broken fibula that happened while facing Will Ospreay in a Continental Classic match on the November 27 episode of Collision.
“Juice Robinson is a few weeks away from beginning in-ring training. At that point a time line should be there for a return,” Meltzer wrote. “Robinson snapped his fibula landing on it badly in a routine roll-up spot before the Styles clash in his 11/27 Continental Classic match with Will Ospreay in Chicago. He had surgery to repair it on 12/9.”
The match where Robinson got hurt was his first of the 2024 Continental Classic. He finished the bout in a loss to Ospreay but had to be removed from the remainder of the tournament.
As Robinson’s return date gets closer, Jay White — one of his stablemates in the Bang Bang Gang — is now sidelined. White was pulled from the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament due to an injury. While not confirmed, it’s believed the injury is a broken hand that will require surgery.
The injury to Juice Robinson that led to him being removed from the Continental Classic was a snapped fibula in his left leg and not a broken foot as was first told to us over the weekend before the X-ray came back.
The injury happened in his November 27 match with Will Ospreay in the tournament from Chicago, which aired on Collision on Saturday afternoon.
The injury took place at the 2:56 mark of the match where Robinson blocked a sunset flip. It was not apparent on television at all that anything was wrong and he didn’t react like he had been hurt. However, a still photo from a different angle showed the left foot bent at a terrible looking angle.
Robinson continued the match and showed no visible signs of an injury, moving well and coming off the top rope at one point. The only indication of a problem was a few minutes later when Ospreay went for a tijeras or huracanrana and Robinson’s left leg appeared to give out. There were no other signs of a problem for the remainder of the match.
The X-rays showed a break in the fibula slightly above the foot. We don’t have an estimated time of recovery, but he is out of the tournament and Tony Khan yesterday announced Komander as his replacement.
Robinson was known to be injured since he was on crutches since the match.
After just one match, Juice Robinson is out of this year’s AEW Continental Classic due to a possible broken foot and a replacement has been already named.
Taking his place is Komander who, according to Tony Khan on X, “will join the field as (the) Gold League first alternate, + the upcoming schedule will be adjusted accordingly.”
In both men’s tournament debuts, Robinson took a loss to Will Ospreay last Wednesday in a match taped for last Saturday’s Collision. He was seen on crutches at this past weekend’s WrestleCade and as of Monday, he did not have the results back from an X-ray.
Assuming he simply takes the rest of Robinson’s matches, Komander will face Ricochet, Brody King, Claudio Castagnoli and Darby Allin in the weeks ahead.
The winner of both the Gold and Blue league will square off against the other league’s runner-up at this month’s Worlds End pay-per-view. The winners of those matches will face off in the Classic finals that night with the ultimate winner taking home the AEW Continental title.
Juice Robinson may have a broken foot, and his status for the remainder of the AEW Continental Classic is unclear.
Robinson lost his first round-robin match to Will Ospreay on AEW Collision last week. The match was taped on Wednesday, and Robinson was later spotted this weekend at WrestleCade on crutches. Our own Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez addressed his injury on last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“He had X-Rays and he had not had the results back as of yesterday, but he was fearing a broken foot. We’ll find out Wednesday, I guess,” Meltzer said.
Robinson is entered into the tournament’s Gold League and still has round-robin matches against Ricochet, Brody King, Claudio Castagnoli, and Darby Allin remaining.
“I would think that if he’s out (of the tournament), they would have to make an announcement,” Meltzer continued. “And there’s a bunch of different ways they can go about it. They can just have him forfeit the rest of his matches and then readjust everything for the people that he was going to beat.”
“They could do that, they could put somebody in as a replacement. Those are basically your choices,” he added.
Robinson doesn’t have a match announced for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in Fishers, Indiana. Brody King vs. Claudio Castagnoli and Shelton Benjamin vs. Kyle Fletcher are advertised for the show.
Wrestling Observer Radio with Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer is back with tons to talk about including injury updates on Juice Robinson, Kevin Nash, Bronson Reed and Maria Kanellis, the next Saturday Night’s Main Event, Wrestler of the Year, AEW Dynamite ratings, CMLL notes, plus the RAW report, Dynamite and NXT previews and more! The full list of participants for this year’s Continental Classic tournament have been revealed.
AEW gave details of the tournament on a Selection Special stream that aired on Sunday. It will kick off this Wednesday on Dynamite and will conclude at AEW’s next pay-per-view, Worlds End, on December 28 in Orlando. Similar to last year, the twelve wrestlers will be divided into two groups, the Blue League and the Gold League. The winners of both leagues will meet at Worlds End.
This year’s entrants include:
Blue League
AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada
Kyle Fletcher
TNT Champion Daniel Garcia
The Beast Mortos
Mark Briscoe
Shelton Benjamin
Gold League
Will Ospreay
Juice Robinson
Brody King
Ricochet
AEW Trios Champion Claudio Castagnoli
Darby Allin
Each match in the Continental Classic will be held under a 20-minute time limit, with everyone banned from ringside. A win is three points, a draw will earn both wrestlers one point, and a loss is zero points.
Eddie Kingston won the inaugural Continental Classic last year, defeating Bryan Danielson in the finals. His win briefly unified the AEW Continental, ROH World, and New Japan Strong titles.
At war vs Bang Bang Gang, Hangman Page will team up for the first time ever with his only apparent ally: Christian Cage On WEDNESDAY! pic.twitter.com/KXhmrXA1Nw
Hangman has continued his feud with the Bang Bang Gang after White scored a victory over Hangman at WrestleDream last month. On this week’s Dynamite, Hangman jumped White during an interview and the two brawled, with Robinson making the save. White cut a promo after the altercation promising to dismantle Hangman at Full Gear.
Christian Cage in recent weeks has been targeting Hook, recently revealing that it was him that attacked Taz several weeks ago. After saying he wished his father was dead, Hook attempted to go after Cage, who managed to escape as Hook laid out security.
The card for next week’s Dynamite:
Konosuke Takeshita vs. Adam Cole – if Cole wins, he earns match against MJF at Full Gear
Hangman Page & Christian Cage vs. Jay White and Juice Robinson
Hangman Page will face Juice Robinson following the events of Collision Grand Slam that aired on Saturday. After Page had defeated Jeff Jarrett in a lumberjack strap match, Page zeroed in on Robinson, who prevented Page from laying out Jarrett with the buckshot lariat. Page attacked Robinson and attempted to hang him until The Gunns made the save.
Page has been on a tear since returning in July, zeroing in on Swerve Strickland and going as far as burning his childhood home down. After he defeated Strickland in a lights-out match in the main event of All Out, he focused on Jarrett, who had been a thorn in his side during the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Jarrett issued the strap challenge on last week’s Collision.
The Bang Bang Gang were unsuccessful in winning back the Trios titles at All In, losing the London Ladders match. In the weeks since they have picked up wins at AEW Collision and All Out.

This Week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter Back Issue
Reuters is reporting that Meta’s AI chatbot will soon be able to start speaking in the voice of John Cena.
Cody Rhodes reposted Matt Cardona’s video announcing his comeback from injury, writing: “Complete. He’s owned that scene, can’t wait to see what my friend does next.”
Nikkita Lyons posted an update on recovering from a torn ACL: “it’s been a minute 8 months post op on my left ACL. lmao…it’s not over when you fall, it’s over when you don’t get back up and just quit. no one knows all you’ve been through but you. take your power back and protect your peace.“
Kenny Omega reflected on the seven-year anniversary of his match against Juice Robinson at NJPW Destruction in Kobe, writing: “There is a very personal story surrounding this match that I’d love to tell but character count wouldn’t allow for it or do it justice here. Aside from all that, Juice took me to the absolute limit and this became the first time I had no choice but to use a Super OWA to get the job done. Juice ain’t no joke and he’d eventually solidify himself as a worthy US champ himself after this.”
Kota Ibushi on Instagram showed photos of himself and Omega training.
Juice Robinson has returned to All Elite Wrestling.
Robinson made his return during Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas, aiding his Bang Bang Gang teammates in defeating Death Triangle in a match for the Unified World Trios Championships.
As Death Triangle’s PAC prepared to hit a Black Arrow to Jay White, Robinson returned to crotch PAC on the top rope, allowing White to hit a Blade Runner on PAC as The Bang Bang Gang retained their titles Sunday.
Robinson has been out of action since last November with what was reported at the time as a back injury that may require surgery. He was written out of storylines with an angle on the November 17, 2023 Rampage, with his last match taking place on November 1, 2023.
The Bang Bang Gang’s run as Unified Trios Champions continues after they joined the ROH Six-Man Tag Team and AEW Trios titles at last month’s Dynasty pay-per-view Zero Hour.
