New AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring winner crowned

For the first-time in AEW’s history, fans witnessed a new Dynamite Diamond Ring winner get crowned tonight.

Last week, duringthe Dynamite Holiday Bash in Manchester, UK, Bandido and Ricochet won the Dynamite Diamond Ring battle royal when they remained the last two men standing. Earlier tonight, Bandido defeated Ricochet to win the 2025 Dynamite Diamond Ring on the December 24th episode of Dynamite on 34th Street.

The match’s final moments saw Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) cause a distraction to help Ricochet, but it did not pay off as Bandido was able to counter it. Ricochet followed it up with a spirit gun to finish off Bandido, who managed to catch Ricochet in a crucifix pin for the victory.

The post-match segment saw Gates of Agony and Ricochet attack the new Dynamite Ring Winner before his tag-team partner, Brody King, came out to make the save.

Tonight’s win made Bandido the first person to win the Diamond Ring after MJF, who had won the ring in all of its editions since 2019. Bandido will next challenge the AEW World Champion for the title at AEW Dynamite Maximum Carnage on January 14, 2026.

The tradition of the AEW Dynamite Diamond ring will continue.

Announced on Wednesday, the annual Dynamite Diamond battle royal will take place on Wednesday, December 17 as part of a three-hour combo Holiday Bash edition of Dynamite/Collision from Manchester, England.

The two remaining men in the ring will then advance to the Dynamite Diamond ring finals as part of the Christmas Eve Dynamite on 34th Street, airing at a special time of 6 PM Eastern.

The winner of that match will challenge for the AEW World title at the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on Wednesday, January 14 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The ring, introduced in 2019, has only been held by MJF who has been off TV since losing to Mark Briscoe at September’s All Out in a Tables ‘n’ Tacks match. Runners up include Hangman Page (2019); Orange Cassidy (2020); Dante Martin (2021); Ricky Starks (2022); Juice Robinson (2023); and Adam Cole (2024).

MJF vs. Juice Robinson set for next week’s AEW Dynamite

MJF has his opponent for next week’s Dynamite.

Juice Robinson won the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal on Wednesday’s show, last eliminating Max Caster for the win. Robinson will now challenge for MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring, which MJF won back in 2019 and has defended successfully every year since.

MJF was on commentary for the main event when he was jumped by Jay White, his opponent for Full Gear on November 18. MJF got the upper hand and briefly got back the AEW World Championship that White had stolen. He was about to lay White out with the title when White gave him a low blow at the last second. The show ended with MJF having a staredown with White, Robinson, and The Gunns.

It was also announced that Tony Khan will have a gift for Sting next week. On Wednesday’s show, Sting announced that his final match will take place at Revolution 2024.

Rob Van Dam will also make his AEW return, teaming with Hook. The two teamed together last month on AEW Collision, defeating Matt Menard and Angelo Parker.

Here is the lineup so far for next week’s Dynamite:

  • Dynamite Diamond Ring: MJF defends the ring against Juice Robinson
  • Tony Khan will have a gift for Sting
  • Rob Van Dam & Hook to team together

Dynamite Dozen battle royal set for next AEW Dynamite

For the fifth time, AEW will hold a Dynamite Dozen battle royal as part of next Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite from Rosenberg, Texas.

The winner of the 12-man over the top battle royal will face current Dynamite Diamond Ring holder and reigning AEW World Champion MJF for the ring on the Wednesday, October 25th edition of Dynamite from Philadelphia, PA.

Juice Robinson was the only participant announced.

MJF has been the only owner of the ring since its inception, dating back to November 2019. That year, MJF and Hangman Page were co-winners of the battle royal and a singles match determined the winner.

In December 2020, MJF and Orange Cassidy were co-winners with MJF defeating Cassidy the following week to keep the ring. In December 2021, MJF and Dante Martin co-won the battle royal with MJF retaining the ring yet again the following week.

AEW then changed the rules for the December 2022 version, having the battle royal winner face MJF (who was given a bye) the following week. MJF defeated winner Ricky Starks in a match that also was for MJF’s World title as Starks had additionally won a tournament.

The match was the only thing announced for next Wednesday’s show.

MJF, Dante Martin win AEW Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale

MJF and Dante Martin were the final two participants in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale on tonight’s AEW Dynamite. They will now face off in a singles match at next week’s Winter is Coming Dynamite episode to determine who will hold the Dynamite Diamond ring for the next year.

MJF and Martin outlasted a field that included Matt Hardy, Jay Lethal, Frankie Kazarian, Lio Rush, Matt Sydal, Wardlow, Lee Moriarty, Lee Johnson, plus Team Taz’s Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Martin’s alliance with Team Taz appears to be over, as he eliminated Starks from the Battle Royale. The final three in the match were MJF, Martin and Starks. After eliminating Starks, Martin removed his FTW arm band. Starks and Martin then brawled after the match, with MJF and  CM Punk also involved in the melee.

MJF has won the Dynamite Diamond in both years of its existence, and now has a shot to win it a third time.
