WOL: You’re wrong about Rousey vs. Carano & I was wrong about Darby Allin

For the first time in nearly three months, Josh Nason has returned to the microphone for the Sunday Wrestling Observer Live, filling in for Andrew Zarian.

And what a fitting time to fill in as Josh returned to his MMA writing & talking roots following Saturday’s inaugural (?) MMA show on Netflix featuring Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano after a combined 27 years of inactivity.

Josh debunks some of the bad faith narratives that emerged after the show and gave his thoughts on the highs and lows.

He then delves into the latest with AEW including the Double or Nothing card a week away from the show, this Wednesday’s killer card for the combo Dynamite/Collision show in his old hometown, and why he admits he was wrong about the Darby Allin AEW World title run.

All that and a bit more awaits at no charge.

WOL: WWE releases, WrestleMania fallout & news

Andrew Zarian is back with another episode of Wrestling Observer Live, talking about the latest news in professional wrestling.

He starts with a quick recap of last Sunday’s second night of WrestleMania 42 and the aftermath, Brock Lesnar’s match with Oba Femi and his pending retirement, and whether CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns was the best WrestleMania main event of all time.

WWE did its annual post-WrestleMania releases on Friday and he discusses all the departures, including some big names like Aleister Black, Zelina, and Kairi Sane. Where do they go, and in the case of Sane, does she return based on the negative backlash?

I also talk about the interaction between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay that happened on AEW Dynamite, involving the Death Riders abducting Ospreay, and the follow-up on Collision in which Ospreay was given a choice by Moxley.

Plus, he looks ahead to Double or Nothing, security issues at WrestleMania weekend, and more!

WOL: What does ‘old school’ mean anyway?

It’s the Saturday Wrestling Observer Live with Jim Valley.

One commenter called the Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton main event at WWE WrestleMania 42 “old school” because of its deliberate pace and lack of variation during the match.

But is that accurate and what does that person mean by “old school” in this case? Is that how this person thinks they wrestled during the territories? During the PG Era? We’ll talk about what’s “old school” and if it’s just relative to when you started watching.

Plus, my thoughts on WrestleMania, Sid’s family and more.

Check it out.

On the, ahem, Wednesday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, indie wrestler and now promoter Dark Sheik joined special guest host “Filthy” Tom Lawlor to talk about Thursday’s Worst Show All Mania Week event that got a lot of talk going into it. He also talks about Toni Storm being off TV indefinitely, what pivot AEW will make, and whether it will lead to Mercedes Mone coming back as a babyface.

WOL: National Lampoon’s Road to WrestleMania 42

It’s Saturday and time for Wrestling Observer Live.

This Road to WrestleMania 42 thus far has been like riding with The Griswolds in the family truckster: lots of bumps, starts, stops, U-turns and detours rather than a cohesive story to follow. This can’t be by design, can it?

Now, it looks like new WWE undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will face off in the second Mania main event. They are mainstream names, but what can WWE do in the next few weeks to heat it up?

Plus, live reaction from SmackDown last night, where are the Mercedes Mone critics now, Danhausen, Jade Cargill, and more.

Check it out.
