MJF World title defense, Kevin Knight vs. Speedball part of next week’s AEW Dynamite

AEW World Champion MJF will defend the title for the first time in his third reign on next week’s AEW Dynamite.

He will put the title up against Rush who called his shot after picking up a win in a four-way Wednesday for his sixth straight victory. He did so just after MJF turned down old foe Mark Briscoe who came out to interrupt the champion’s celebration.

It will be their second-ever singles meeting with the last coming in June 2024 that MJF won in his first match back from injury.

The show from Richmond, Virginia, will also feature a women’s quarterfinal match in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament as Alex Windsor takes on a wild card entrant, filling the spot relinquished by the injured Willow Nightingale.

The show will also feature a clash between Will Ospreay and Mark Davis in an Owen Hart Foundation tournament semifinal after Davis defeated Jack Perry on Dynamite. It will be their third meeting and first since Davis scored an update over Ospreay in February.

After turning heel at Double or Nothing and then laying out former partner “Speedball” Mike Bailey on Dynamite, reigning TNT Champion Kevin Knight will defend against Bailey. It will be their fourth-ever singles match with Bailey holding a 3-0 record. They last squared off in the 2025 Continental Classic this past December.

MJF return, Darby Allin vs. Rush, Women’s title match added to AEW Dynamite

The lineup for this Wednesday’s Dynamite just got more loaded.

During Collision Slam Dunk Saturday, it was announced that Rush will take on Darby Allin this Wednesday in St. Paul, Minnesota. Allin defeated Gabe Kidd in a coffin match this on the last episode of Dynamite and after the match declared that he wanted to challenge for the AEW World Championship. Rush and the rest of LFI recently returned to action and won a trios squash match during Saturday’s show.

The Women’s title will be on the line when Thekla defends against Mina Shirakawa. In a backstage interview, Thekla denied having any involvement in the attack that took out Storm on Wednesday, instead suggesting that Storm faked the attack so she didn’t have to face Thekla for the title. 

Storm was originally set to face Marina Shafir in a no holds barred match this past Wednesday, but was found laid out just minutes before the show went on the air. Shirakawa replaced Storm and ended up defeating Shafir in a shock win.

It was also announced that MJF would be make his return to television. He was last seen at Revolution retaining the AEW World title in a Texas Death match, defeating Hangman Page. As a result, Page can never challenge for the title again.

Exclusive details on Rush’s knee injury & who influenced decision to skip surgery

Former Ring of Honor World Champion Rush will make his in-ring return on this Saturday’s AEW Collision and there’s some exclusive details from our Bryan Alvarez regarding his decision to skip surgery.

In late-November, AEW head Tony Khan revealed Rush wasn’t medically cleared due to a knee injury and had to be pulled from a planned match with ROH World Champion Bandido. Shortly thereafter, Alvarez reported that Rush had been dealing with the injury for years and he almost certainly needed to undergo surgery.

On Thursday, Alvarez stated that Rush was sent to an NFL doctor who told him he could either get surgery and be out for a considerable amount of time or do three months of “hard rehab” and see how he felt.

“Apparently, rehab went well as he returned last night and told people the knee felt great,” Alvarez wrote.

Rush’s brother Dralistico also took time off at the same to recover from two ear injuries. The brothers will be part of a four-way tag team match in Tucson, Arizona, this Saturday on Collision which will also feature Private Party, The Swirl and The Outrunners.

La Faccion Ingobernable in-ring return set for next AEW Collision

Rush and Dralistico of La Faccion Ingobernable are now confirmed for their in-ring return for the upcoming AEW Collision episode.

LFI member Rush and Dralistico will now take part in a 4-way tag match on the March 7 episode of Collision. Rush and Dralistico are now scheduled to face The Swirl (Blake Christian & Lee Johnson), The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum), and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) with $200,000 on the line.

Rush has been out of in-ring action and sidelined with a knee injury since November, 2025. He was previously scheduled to face Bandido for the ROH World Title at ROH Final Battle, which was later scrapped for a Survival of the Fittest match. His tag team partner, Dralistico, underwent surgery in December, 2025.

AEW wrestler undergoes surgery

Dralístico had surgery today.

The LFI member suffered an injury to his ear in two different matches recently. He worked through it for a period but was eventually told he’d need surgery to fix it.

Dralistico revealed on Wednesday that he’s having the surgery today, writing, “The day has arrived. 🚑🏥 #AEW”

Dralístico hasn’t wrestled since the October 29 episode of Collision, when he teamed with Sammy Guevara and The Beast Mortos in a loss to Komander, Roderick Strong, and Mark Briscoe.

Bryan Alvarez addressed Dralistico’s injury last month, writing, “Dralistico suffered injuries to his ear in two different matches. He also worked through it since he was hoping to get regular work on the main roster, but eventually it became too painful and he was told he’d need surgery to fix it.”

Dralístico’s brother and LFI stablemate Rush is also out of action and expected to have surgery. He had been working through knee injuries he’s been dealing with for years. As a result of the injury, Rush and Sammy Guevara vacated the ROH Tag Team Championships and Rush was removed from the lineup for Final Battle.

Rush and Dralistico both likely need surgery for their injuries

Both Rush and Dralistico look to be out of action for some time.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that both members of LFI will likely need surgeries for their respective injuries. For Rush, Alvarez writes that he’s been working through knee injury and as a result, he’s worse off.

“We are told Rush has been working with a bad knee for years, but because he wanted opportunities on Collision and Dynamite he didn’t want to take time off,” Alvarez writes. “Working through it made it worse, and as Tony Khan noted in a media call this week, he’s off the Ring of Honor Final Battle show and almost certainly needs surgery. He will be evaluated in the next week or so and almost certainly undergo surgery. It is believed he had knee surgery previously in Mexico but it was messed up and didn’t solve the problem.”

As for Dralistico, he suffered an injury to his ear in two different matches. Like his brother, he tried to work through his injury, but eventually was unable to.

“Dralistico suffered injuries to his ear in two different matches. He also worked through it since he was hoping to get regular work on the main roster, but eventually it became too painful and he was told he’d need surgery to fix it,” Alvarez says. “He’s either already undergone surgery or will undergo surgery shortly.”

Rush was scheduled to face Bandido at Final Battle but was replaced by a Survival of the Fittest match. Additionally, it was announced on Friday that Rush would vacate the ROH Tag Team titles with Sammy Guevara, who will now team with The Beast Mortos to face Tommy Billington and Adam Priest in a match for the vacant titles at Final Battle.

AEW star Rush sidelined with injury

AEW star Rush has been sidelined with an injury.

AEW President Tony Khan recently announced on social media that Rush is no longer medically cleared to compete due to a knee injury. As a result, the former CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion has been pulled from his scheduled ROH World Championship match against Bandido.

The two were previously scheduled to battle for the ROH World Championship at ROH Final Battle on December 5. However, the match has now been called off due to the injury. Instead, Khan announced that Bandido will face Sammy Guevara, Komander, Hechicero, Blake Christian, and The Beast Mortos in a Survival of the Fittest match.

Despite the injury, Rush still remains one-half of the ROH Tag Team Champions with Guevara. Khan noted that a decision on the future of the titles will be made soon. He last wrestled on the November 15th episode of AEW Collision, teaming with Guevara and FTR against Bandido, JetSpeed, and Juice Robinson.

There are currently no confirmed update on his return.

AEW Collision live results: All star eight-man tag team match, TNT title defense

An all star eight-man tag team match is one of the featured bouts on tonight’s live AEW Collision from Erie, Pennsylvania.

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR team with LFI’s Rush and Sammy Guevara to take on JetSpeed, current Tag Team Champion Bandido and Juice Robinson of the Bang Bang Gang.

The TNT title will be on the line as Kyle Fletcher defends against former champion Scorpio Sky.

In a grudge match, Mark Briscoe will face Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family.

Ahead of their first round match in the AEW Women’s Tag Team title tournament, Riho & Alex Windsor take on Maya World & Hyan.

– It’s Saturday night and it’s time to Collide as we’re welcomed live to the show by Tony Schiavone, “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard and Nigel McGuinness. The commentary trio then ran down tonight’s matches before we got a recap of this past Wednesday’s two Blood and Guts matches.

Trios Match: The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, PAC, Wheeler Yuta) vs. Jay Lethal, Adam Priest, and Tommy Billington

Prior to the match, Daniel Garcia got in Matt Menard’s face, which led to the two fighting it out at the commentary desk. PAC and Yuta had to pull Garcia off of Menard just to keep him focused on this upcoming trios match. Jon Moxley appeared and took over for Menard on commentary.

Once the match got underway, Billington, Priest, and Lethal got the upper hand on an unprepared Garcia, which forced him to tag PAC into the match. Lethal dropkicked PAC and went for a pin early on, to no success. As Yuta entered the match, he fell victim to a double team attack from Billington and Lethal. This was then followed by Priest and Lethal nailing a double back suplex on legal man Garcia.

On commentary, Moxley tried to brush off his team’s loss in Blood and Guts as he talked about wanting to bring some “positive energy” in the world, in his words.

Garcia was unable to get any sort of advantage as Billington had him trapped in a criss-cross rope run. An attempt at a dive to the outside from Billington to Yuta wasn’t able to connect fully as we went to a picture in picture break.

We continued from the break with PAC working over Billington to help give the Death Riders the momentum over their opponents. In the Death Riders corner, Billington was being picked apart by PAC, as Yuta entered the match and took a bite out of his foe. The Death Riders’ trio shelled Billington with repeated running attacks to him while he was stunned in the corner. PAC finished it off with a Tombstone Piledriver as he went for the cover. However, the other team broke up the pin.

On the top rope, Billington broke free of Yuta’s grip and then knocked him down with a shotgun dropkick. This tried to create some separation for Billington, but Garcia took out Lethal and Priest in the corner. Billington attempted a running crossbody that took himself out ouf the ring. Soon after, the hot tag was made to Lethal, who was on fire against the Death Riders. He locked PAC in the Figure Four, but Garcia broke that up. Things escalated as PAC forced Priest in the line of fire of Lethal’s patented Lethal Injection. This led to PAC picking up the submission win as Lethal submitted to the Brutalizer.

After the match, PAC took the microphone as he addressed how Darby Allin was not in the building tonight because of what he did to him at Blood and Guts a few days back. PAC said that setting Allin on fire was his “magnum opus”, but he knew that Allin would want some sort of petty revenge. That was no problem for PAC, as he laid down the challenge for next Saturday at AEW Full Gear for Allin to face him. He said that Allin was not in the conversation or the same league as a competitor like him. PAC concluded that he would be waiting for Allin’s answer.

The Death Riders def. Tommy Billington, Jay Lethal, and Adam Priest via submission

A solid trios match to kick off the night on Collision, and the Garcia/Menard confrontation was a hot way to start things. Jon Moxley on commentary was entertaining as well, and while there wasn’t much in the way of an direct aftermath of Blood and Guts just yet, Moxley trying to play off his team’s loss by preaching about positivity was hilarious.

– Lexy Nair was backstage with Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher ahead of their respective matches tonight. Fletcher said that he was tired of hearing about Mark Briscoe and that at Full Gear, he’d put him in his place for good. Davis interjected by talking how Briscoe would be nothing more but “dinner” for him later tonight. Fletcher then addressed his TNT Championship challenger Scorpio Sky, declaring that he’d end up saying Fletcher’s full name once all was said and done.

– We returned from the break with Nair interviewing “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, who was not cleared for action tonight. Storm talked about how while they could come after her, if you went after the love her life (Shirakawa), it was time for a cinema verite, starring “five shitass sloptarts”, and that anytime, any place, the show must go on. Storm then concluded her promo with an incredble closer: “Don’t ask God for mercy, he’s a big fan of our work.”

Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis

Things got off to a hot start as Briscoe and Davis brawled at the ramp before the bell could even ring. As the bell finally rang, Briscoe flattened Davis with a Blockbuster from the apron to the outside. Davis regained the advantage with a clothesline, as he then threw Briscoe onto the hardest part of the ring. Davis then chucked Briscoe against a chair sat next to the barricade.

Once both men got into the ring, Davis chopped at Briscoe in the corner, but he couldn’t maintain the momentum. On the top rope, Briscoe was punched repeatedly by Davis, who then dropped him with a huge superplex for a near-fall. The action went to picture-in-picture with Davis in control of this Battle of the Marks.

Collision returned from the break as Davis dropped Briscoe with a hard lariat. He followed that up with repeated chops to the chest of Briscoe, who absorbed the last few strikes and got himself hyped up. Briscoe then answered back with some chops of his own, followed by a running forearm that knocked Davis down on the mat. As both men got back to their feet, Briscoe and Davis traded back and forth chops and back and forth charging attacks to one another.

Davis went for a suplex, but got rolled up by Briscoe for the near-fall. After a pump kick to the face of Davis, Briscoe lifted him up for a suplex of his own. Briscoe then headed up top for the Froggy Bow, but Davis got his feet up to block the attack. With Briscoe dazed, Davis hit a fierce running lariat for the close near-fall. Briscoe rolled to the and took a seat on a chair, but Davis ran into him with a running uppercut.

The Aussie threw a pair of chairs into the ring, but whatever he was planning did not come to fruition as Briscoe set up a chair in a seated position. Briscoe then leapt from the chair to the outside with a dive over the ropes on Davis. In the corner, Davis’ attempt at an attack was countered by Briscoe, who kept him down long enough for the Froggy Bow and the victory to prove himself the superior Mark of AEW.

I had fun watching this match. I enjoy seeing Briscoe in action and his fellow Mark in one-half of Aussie Open was a great opponent for him to have in this contest.

– Christopher Daniels was backstage with Scorpio Sky, as he tried to hype his former SCU partner up for his TNT Title match against Kyle Fletcher for later tonight.

– As we returned from break, we went backstage to see Josh Alexander attacking Michael Nakazawa. He said that he was the Don Callis Family’s instrument of destruction and it appeared he was challenging Kenny Omega for Dynamite in Boston. Alexander then took out Nakazawa in brutal fashion.

Taya Valkyrie (w/ MxMTV) vs. Tay Melo

Before the match, MxMTV’s Mansoor took the mic and told the crowd to shut up as this was MxMTV’s Open Casting Call and it was about to start.

As the bell rang, Melo caught Valkyrie by surprise with a jumping kick that left her stunned in the corner. Valykyrie got the advantage on the opposite corner as she hit a nice sliding German suplex on Melo, which had MxMTV’s men in awe. Outside the ring, Melo fought back and threw Valkyrie into the steel steps. As MxMTV checked up on the fallen Valkyrie, Melo leapt from the top rope and took out Mansoor and Johnny TV with a dive. In the end, Melo won by finishing off Valkyrie in short order.

After the match, Marina Shafir snuck up on Melo with a kick to the face, followed by locking in Mother’s Milk on her. “Timeless” Toni Storm then made the save as she ran through MxMTV outside the ring. Storm then took out Shafir with Storm Zero.

A short, but sweet match and it was nice to see Toni Storm get her hands dirty, so to speak, as she went after Marina Shafir in the post-match action.

– “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Powerhouse Hobbs from Dynamite was recapped, as well as the AEW Men’s World Championship Cage Match for Full Gear being made.

TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Scorpio Sky (w/ Christopher Daniels & Top Flight)

Sky offered a handshake as the bell rang, but Fletcher refused with a kick to his hands. The two then locked up as they engaged in a battle of strength. Sky tried to go after Fletcher’s arm, but found his own arm being the target of Fletcher’s attack instead. Sky and Fletcher once again tested their strength as TNT Champion found himself backed into the corner. Fletcher then retreated to ringside while Sky mocked his foe by putting on Fletcher’s entrance jacket in the ring.

Things picked up as Sky feigned a leg injury and tried to roll up Fletcher for the pin. Fletcher responded by punching away at Sky, but he was hit with a flying clothesline from the challenger. Outside the ring, Sky battered Fletcher with a punch against the barricade. Fletcher responded by throwing Sky onto the apron before he decked Christopher Daniels with a hard punch. An enraged Sky fought back and sent Fletcher right into the steel steps as the match headed to picture-in-picture.

Collision returned to live action with Fletcher working over Sky with a set of kicks to the chest. Sky beckoned his foe to hit him some more, which fired him up enough to a point where he had Fletcher in the ropes with the punches in the corner. Sky bit at Fletcher’s forehead as he then clotheslined him out of the ring. At ringisde, Fletcher attempted a powerbomb, but Sky countered by getting himself on the apron as he then floored the TNT Champion with a hurricanrana.

As Fletcher recovered on the outside, he was sent down to the ground by a dive over the ropes by Sky. Back in the ring, Sky got a near fall with the pop-up sitdown powerbomb on Fletcher. Sky lifted Fletcher on his shoulders, but the wily Australian escaped and countered into a snap German suplex. He then tried for his signature brainbuster, but Sky bit at Fletcher’s hand to get out of it.

On the apron, Fletcher kicked Sky in the face and attempted the brainbuster. Sky escaped in the nick of time and connected with a rough-looking leaping cutter onto the apron. Sky had Fletcher on the ropes, as he nailed the DDT from the middle rope. One, two… Fletcher managed to kick out in time. Both men struggled to get themselves to their feet as neither man could get the upper hand. Sky rolled under Fletcher’s attack and had the Lance Storm-style single leg crab locked in. Fletcher got his hand on the ropes to escape, however.

Fletcher recovered and hit the running kick in the corner, followed by his finishing sheer drop brainbuster on Sky for the three and the TNT Championship victory.

After the match, Fletcher’s Aussie Open partner Mark Davis attacked Sky for a bit before Mark Briscoe and Top Flight chased them off. Briscoe took the mic and talked about how not even an ambush before Blood and Guts or Mark Davis could slow him down. He said that the next time Don Callis shined up Fletcher’s shiny bald head, he should shine up that TNT Championship because that championship was coming for him.

Fletcher responded by saying he wasn’t responsible for Briscoe getting attacked, and that he was one defense away from breaking the record for most TNT Championship defenses. He said that one week from tonight at Full Gear, he’d break that record and Briscoe would be left with no choice but to join the Don Callis Family, which meant Briscoe would have no choice but to say Fletcher’s full name.

Kyle Fletcher def. Scorpio Sky via pinfall to retain the TNT Championship

A solid “veteran versus young gun” match with Sky using his veteran wits to try and pry the TNT Title away, but Fletcher just being a bit better in the end. The upcoming Fletcher vs. Briscoe match at Full Gear should be a great one and the added stakes of Briscoe being forced to join the Don Callis Family should he lose does add a lot of drama to it.

– A promo package hyping a $200k Tailgate Brawl for next week’s pre-Full Gear show featuring The Acclaimed vs. the Bang Bang Gang vs. Big Bill & Bryan Keith vs. The Outrunners was shown, with the teams mentioining what they’d do for the match.

– A Renee Paquette-narrated video talking about Mercedes Mone vs. Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear was shown.

Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Maya World & Hyan

Riho and Hyan got the match going with a chain wrestling battle, as the latter swiftly avoided a pin with a nice dodge. After a rollup pin, Hyan hit Riho with a nice boot to the face as Maya World tagged herself in. Windsor made the tag for herself as she and Riho showed an inspired and elevated effort as a team. On the apron, Windsor leapt at Maya and Hyan to take them out, as Riho followed up with a dive from the top rope as the action went to picture-in-picture.

This tag match continued from picture-in-picture with Riho battling her way out of Maya’s submission hold successfully. Windsor entered the match a house o’fire as she used her speed to take down Maya with a shoulder charge. Windsor connected with a swinging powerbomb as Hyan broke up the pin. Riho and Windsor once again showed their team acumen by taking out Hyan with a pair of kicks. Maya ran at Riho, but found herself flattened by a snapdragon suplex. In the end, Riho had Maya in a crucifix position as Windsor struck with a hard lariat. The pin by Riho, and this one’s done.

After the match, Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa addressed Windsor & Riho on the big screen. Storm said that they would have a “bloody good” time as they were lovers on a path of revenge.

A nice showcase match for Riho and Windsor, and a great effort from Maya World and Hyan as they got to look like they belong in the ring against a team of Riho and Windsor’s status. Just a nice bit of business here and a solid little match.

– Remarks from Wednesday’s Dynamite from Kyle O’Reilly and The Conglomeration were shown after their big victory from Blood & Guts. O’Reilly said that he had a submission victory over Moxley and that if there was another time he wanted to prove him wrong, he was up for it.

After the video package, Moxley was angry as he left commentary and addressed O’Reilly’s comments. The fans chanted “you tapped out” to further add to Moxley’s frustrations. The Death Riders’ leader said that O’Reilly was not like him, and he was not built like him. Moxley said that O’Reilly could not beat him again. If O’Reilly and the Conglomeration wanted another match, Moxley said they knew where to find him and the Death Riders. Moxley then left the ringside area.

– Tay Melo was interviewed about what happened earlier tonight for her. She said that she’d kick Toni Storm’s head off for the AEW Women’s Tag Titles, as she then turned her attention to Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne. Melo stated that what Shafir and Bayne started, TayJay would finish it.

All-Star Eight-Man Tag: FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) & La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush & Sammy Guevara) vs. Bandido, JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey) & Juice Robinson

Bandido and Harwood got our main event going with a lockup. Harwood had Bandido in the corner as he struck him and hit a snap suplex osoon after. Wheeler tagged in and continued to work away on Bandido with a chop in the corner. However, Bandido escaped and quickened the pace with a dive from the top, followed by a superkick. Bailey tagged in and immediately pummelled Wheeler with his signature kicks. Wheeler broke the momentum with a slam as Guevara tagged in.

Guevara feigned a dive from the top rope as he instead dropped down and hit Bailey with a kick to the head. Knight entered the match, but soon found himself being attacked by Rush and Guevara with a not-so-tranquilo double team assault. Harwood tagged in and attacked Knight, but was dropped with a nice leaping clothesline from one-half of JetSpeed. Robinson got the tag from his team as he singlehandledly made short work of FTR and LFI. In the ring, Harwood and Wheeler were being beaten with consecutive punches from Robinson, as they then fell victim to a double noggin-knocker. Rush stopped Robinson’s fun with an elbow to the face.

Things began to brake down a bit as all eight men got inovlved and the action was fast and furious. On opposite ends of the ring, Bandido and Bailey hit stereo Asai Moonsaults on their foes at ringside to briefly take them out of the equation. Back in the ring, Knight hit Harwood with a huge DDT, as Robinson went for the cover. That wasn’t enough to end this one, as the match went to one final picture-in-picture break.

Collision’s hot main event resumed as FTR pulled Bandido and Knight out from the apron before Bailey could get a tag. In the ring, Guevara levelled Bailey with a facebuster for the near-fall. Bailey struggled to fight free of Wheeler’s piledriver, and eventually hit a knee-first moonsault on Wheeler’s ribcage, as Bandido got the hot tag.

Bandido was a force as he held his own against all four men before he hit leaping frog splash on Rush for the close two. Rush responded as he pulled Bandido from the apron for a superplex for the near-fall. FTR and LFI had Bandido surrounded, as one half of the AEW Tag Champions stood his ground against the odds. The odds were evened by Bandido’s partners as we got a staredown between Bandido and Rush inside the ring.

Rush threw Bandido overhead with a belly-to-belly throw as he had him in sight for The Horns, but Bandido escaped that fate. Rush did manage to take Bandido out with a hard headbutt as he also went down in the process. On the apron, Guevara leapt at Robinson for the moonsault. Things intensified as Knight took out Guevara with a leaping bunch, as Wheeler dropped him face-first onto the apron with a Gory Special. Afterwards, Bailey attempted another Ultima Weapon moonsault, but Harwood moved out of the way at the last second, as Bailey ended up hitting the apron instead.

Rush rolled up Bandido, but he was sent onto FTR on the Apron, this left him at the mercy of Bandido’s 21-Plex for the three and the victory in our Collision main event.

Collision wrapped with commentary running down the matches for the three-hour Dynamite/Collision special on Wednesday and the babyface team celebrating their victory.

A very fun main event to end a solid episode of Collision. These All-Star tag matches always manage to live up to their name and this one was no exception. Just a treat to watch from start to finish.

This was a great episode that gave us some really nice TV matches and a bit of story development with regards to the situation with the Death Riders post-Blood and Guts. Collision has found a nice groove as a show where the best wrestle, to coin a particular phrase and offering storyline development when needed. Just a nice and breezy way on Saturday nights to enjoy some wrestling, just like old times.

Three new matches are set for Saturday’s Collision.

During a livestream, Tony Khan announced that Kyle Fletcher was looking to defend the TNT title ahead of Full Gear, where he’s set to face Mark Briscoe. Khan decided to give the opportunity to Scorpio Sky, mentioning that he says has been undefeated since returning to AEW earlier this year.

Khan also took time to praise Maya World and Hyan, noting that they stepped up at the last minute to take on TayJay last week. He said they would get another chance to prove themselves on Saturday by taking on Riho and Alex Windsor. World & Hyan were last minute replacements for Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who walked out of last week’s AEW Collision after they were told they’d only get three minutes for their match that they were scheduled to lose.

In his final announcement, Khan said an All Star 8-Man Tag Team match would take place. Bandido will team up with Juice Robinson and JetSpeed to take on FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush.

LFI member injured during AEW Dynamite

LFI leader Rush was injured during his match during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Rush, Dralistico and The Beast Mortos were challenging AEW Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata) when Rush was getting back into the ring for the final sequence of the match.

However, he stumbled after his kneepad got caught on the bottom rope, hitting his elbow on the mat as he fell. According to our Bryan Alvarez, the former ROH World Champion dislocated his elbow when he did that.

He immediately was grabbing his left arm, holding it as he rolled outside. Shibata rolled outside with him and basically held onto him as opposed to a brawl. Alvarez said Rush popped the elbow back into place and he then took part in the post-match beatdown angle between Joe and AEW World Champion Hangman Page.

As of this point, Rush is scheduled to wrestle in Mexico Thursday in a match that also includes LA Park and his sons.

Rush: ‘The time has come for LFI to get bigger’

Rush says it’s time for La Faccion Ingobernable (LFI) to get bigger.

The AEW wrestler posted to social media on Tuesday, writing:

“The time has come for LFI to get bigger. We will rule the world.”

In AEW, the faction currently consists of Rush, Dralistico, The Beast Mortos, and Sammy Guevara, with Guevara and Rush currently holding the ROH World Tag Team Championships. The recently returned Andrade El Idolo is a former member of LFI, and helped form the original version of the group in 2014 alongside Rush in CMLL. However, Andrade appears to have aligned with The Don Callis Family since arriving back in AEW.

Some fans have speculated that Rush’s post could be teasing Santos Escobar signing with AEW. Escobar has never been aligned with LFI or Los Ingobernables, but he did team with Rush and La Sombra multiple times in CMLL from 2010 to 2012.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the possibility of Escobar signing with AEW on Tuesday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that there are people in WWE who expect him to sign there.

“They’ve been expecting him to leave for some time,” Meltzer said. “They obviously took him away from Angel and Berto for that very reason, not expecting him to stay. He’s gone and I do know people there, it’s multiple people there who expect him to go to AEW. I don’t know if he does or he doesn’t.“

ROH TV live results: Two championship defenses, Women’s Pure title tournament continues

Two Ring of Honor titles will be defended on tonight’s ROH on HonorClub.

After unsuccessfully unseating AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, interim ROH Women’s TV Champion Mina Shirakawa will defend her title against the debuting Lacey Lane, formerly Kayden Carter in WWE.

The ROH Tag Team titles will be decided as LFI (Sammy Guevara & Rush) defend against former ROH Six-Man Champions The Von Erichs.

The ROH Women’s Pure title tournament continues with a quarterfinal match between Billie Starkz and CMLL’s Olympia. In another Pure rules bout, future tourney competitor Deonna Purrazzo will take on Viva Van in non-tournament action.

ROH World Champion Bandido will also be featured, battling Dralistico in a Proving Ground match where if the challenger draws or beats the champion, they earn a future title shot.

The show is rounded out by Tony Nese and Ari Daivari in mixed trios action with new Premier Athletes partner Stori Denali.

With two title defences, a pair of Pure Rules bouts and a World Championship Proving Ground match, this week’s episode of ROH on Honorclub is so packed from bell to bell, we should all make sure to pee before it starts!

ROH World Title Proving Ground Match: Bandido [c] vs Dralistico (w/Rush)

Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) are fresh off defending their AEW tag titles in Toronto at All Out (which I think ended about a15 minutes ago) but tonight’s a singles bout in which if Dralistico can last 10 minutes or pin/submit Bandido, he slingshots into an ROH World Title match.

Dralistico started things off by giving Bandido the Middle Finger of Honor and then rolling out of the ring. Bandido followed, but Draslistic was waiting to throw him into the barricade a whole bunch. Rush approved.

Bandido rolled back into the ring and Dralistico’s foot followed, planting him on the mat. Dralistico went for the mask of Bandido to a chorus of boos. Dralistico responded with some superkicks and set Bandido up in the corner for one more.

Bandido powered up and threw some punches and a hurricanrana. Bandido caught Dralistico in a one-handed Millitary Press and then slammed him to the mat. Rush did not approve.

Out of the corner, Dralistico tried to get a quick pin while Rush helped him grab the ropes, but the ref caught it and sent Rush to the back as the five minute warning sounded.

Bandido hit a high knee square in the face of Dralistico and that seemed to knock him cold. Bandido pinned him and got the victory.

Match Result: Bandido defeated Dralistico

After the match, a masked man jumped Bandido and threw him into the steel steps. He ripped off his mask to reveal one-half of the worst named tag team of all time, Blake Christian! Christian threw Bandido into the ring and Lee Johnson was waiting for him. They laid a beating on Bandido, capped off with a Lethal Injection.

That brought Hologram out, but he didn’t come alone as Komander returned to ROH to run off Christian and Johnson and save Bandido.

Mixed Six Person Tag Team Match: The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari, Stori Denali & Tony Nese) vs JD ink, El Magnifico and Rebecca Scott

The Athletes came down to the ring complaining that their manager MArk Sterling was gbetting surgery because of the Conglomeration. Their opponents were exaxtly what their names suggest; JD Ink had a lot of tattoos, El Magnifico had a magnificent mask and Scott definitely looks like her name is Rebecca.

Nese started off against Ink, controlling the match every step of the way. He tagged in Daivari who backflipped Ink, but also gave him a chance to get a tag to Magnifico. Daivari sent the smaller man into the corner and introduced his shoulder to Magnifico’s stomach.

Magnifico punched Daivari, which sent him backwards into a blind tag from Denali. Scott tagged in, but Denali had a bout a foot’s height advantage on her. Scott tried to wear her down with punches, but Denali didn’t so much kick Scott, as she stepped on her.

Nese and Daivari ran in and knocked Ink and Magnifico off the apron. Denali chokeslammed Scott and that was in. Athletes suck– uh, I mean win. Athletes win.

Match Result: The Premier Athletes defeated JD Ink, El Magnifico and Rebecca Scott.

Pure Rules Match: Deonna Purrazzo vs Viva Van

This match isn’t part of the Tournament to crown the new Women’s Pure Rules Champion, but Purrazzo is a participant and a likely winner of said tournament. Tonight she warms up against Van who lost a Proving Ground match to Athena recently.

Code of Honor was adhered to and the clock started ticking. Purrazzo got Van in a headlock right off the top, but Van got out of it. She chose to celebrate and Purrazzo jumped in an put on an arm bar, causing Van to use her first rope break at 0:45.

Van hit a spinning heel kick, knocking Purrazzo to the mat. Van went for a facelock, but Purrazzo pushed her into the corner and flipped her into a surfboard attempt. She couldn’t get it on and went for a shoulder wrench instead.

Purrazzo then focused on the arm of Van, looking to take away her striking power. Van tried a sunset flip, but Purrazzo worked it into another arm bar. Van got her foot on the rope at 2:53 for her second rope break.

Van went up top for a spingboard dropkick, but also walked right into a spinning back fist from Purrazzo. Van dropped low for a pump kick, but when she got back up, Purrazzo hit her with a big boot and a snap piledriver to get the pin and the victory.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Viva Van

ROH Interim Women’s World Television Title Match: Mina Shirakawa (c) vs Lacey Lane

Shirakawa is the Interim Women’s TV Champion while Red Velvet is stuck at home remodelling Mama’s Kitchen. Shirakawa broke her hand shortly after winning a four-way for the title, but keeps on going, this time taking on Lane, who is a wrestler who works at Ring of Honor.

Off the top, Shirakawa was stuck in her own jacket due to the wrapped hand. Lane did not take advantage of that though and Shirakawa took control with the first pin attempt. Lane tried to work the leg of Shirakawa (who has a broken HAND, I remind you), but Shirakawa was able to transition into a double stomp.

Lane hung Shirakawa up in the corner and delivered a drop kick for a two count. Shirakawa was able to dodge a few kicks, but caught one in the side of the head. Lane started chopping Shirakawa and threw another big kick. This time, Shirakawa responded with one of her own.

Shirakawa threw some forearms and hit an around the world headscissor into a side Russian leg sweep. Shirakawa went for a cloverleaf backstabber and locked in a figure four. Lane managed to get to the ropes though and the rf broke it up.

Lane hit a big kick through the ropes and then a legdrop for a two count. She started hitting her knee, trying to get the blood flowing. Shirakawa rolled through a hold but was planted with a modified bulldog for two.

Lane went up top, but Shirakawa awakened and pulled her leg-first off the top rope. Shirakawa scrambled up and hit a slingblade from the top turnbuckle. Lane kicked out at two though, but Shirakawa hit two spinning fists and went back to the figure four.

Lane held on as long as she could, but was forced to tap as she wasn’t anywhere near the ropes.

Match Result: Mina Shirakawa defeated Lacey Lane

ROH World Tag Team Title Match: La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush & Sammy Guevara) w/Dralistico (c) vs The Von Erichs (Marshall von Erich & Ross von Erich)

At Death Before Dishonor, Guevara turned on the Von Erichs and joined LFI. He and Rush became tag champions and Dustin Rhodes wept silently in a hospital room in Texas. Tonight though, they might be able to get a bit of revenge.

Guevara and Rush jumped the Von Erichs off the bell, but Marshall was able to get the upper hand on Guevara and send him into the barricade. Ross didn’t fair as well though as Rush chopped him on the outside before tossing him back into the ring.

All four men battled in the ring with Rush and Guevara taking both Von Erich’s down. Ross rolled to the ring apron, which made Marshall legal (i guess) and he and Guevara locked up so the match could start. Guevara went right to a set of three amigos, but after two, Marshall reversed into a suplex of his own.

Ross tagged in and ran across to knock Rush off the apron before hitting a sling blade on Guevara. Ross went for a falcon arrow but the pin was only a two count. Ross went up top and tried to hit a move off the second rope, but Guevara caught him with a hight knee.

Guevara stomped him and tagged in Rush who went to work on the ankle of Ross. He tossed him in the corner and then he and Guevara took a moment to pose. From there, Rush tossed Ross out of the ring where Dralistico took the opportunity to stomp him.

Rush took his time getting Ross back into the ring while Guevara stole Marshall’s hat. Rush chopped Ross while Guevara mugged for the cameras. Rush charged Ross, but Ross ducked it and crawled for a tag to Marshall.

Marshall took out Rush and Guevara (somehow the hat stayed on) and Marshall splashed them both in the corner, retrieving his chapeau (that means hat). Marshall hit a big foot on Rush and hit the Iron Claw. Ross came in and they turned it into a Claw Slam double team.

Guevara broke it up and distracted the Ref so Dralistico could come in and kick the Von Erich’s to death. Rush set up Marshall in the corner and as promised gave him the horns. He tagged in Guevara so that he could hit the swanton and get the pin to retain the titles.

Match Result: La Faccion Ingobernable defeated The Von Erichs

-Backstage, Deonna Purrazzo cut a promo about his she’s the foundation of Women’s Wresting in ROH. She was interrupted by the ROH Six-Man Champions, Shane Taylor Promotions. They jawed at her and then Trish Adora punched her into a stack of road cases in anticipation of their upcoming Women’s Pure Championship Tournament match.

ROH Women’s Pure Title Tournament Quarter Final Match: Billie Starkz vs Olympia

Speaking of said tournament, Olympia debuted in ROH last week and it was an impressive debut at that. Starkz has long sat under the Athena learning tree though and has a Tournament win under her belt as she was the inaugural ROH Women’s TV Champion.

Starkz had height, but Olympia had the strength and the lockup off the top was a long one. Olympia sent Starkz to the mat and tried a waist lock. Olympia turned it into an armdrag though and they took a moment to reset.

That reset led to Olympia kicking the knee out of Starkz and going to work on her arm, twisting it behind her back. Starkz reversed it though and ended up using a rope break at about 2:30 to get some space between her and Olympia.

It didn’t last long though as Olympia grabbed her in a huge powerbomb. Olympia scrambled to put on a hold, but Starkz beat her to the rope, costing her a second rope break. She then poked Olympia’s eye and tossed her out of the ring for a suicide dive. Unfortunately, Olympia saw it coming and moved.

Olympia slammed Starkz on the ring apron (the Starkz-est part of the ring!) and tossed her back in for a springboard splash. Olympia got too close to the ropes though and Starkz wrapped her leg around it. Olympia used a rope break and Starkz tossed her outside for another connecting dive.

Starkz threw Olympia into the barricade and steel steps before wrapping her knee around the ring post. Olympia writhed in the ring and Starkz began stomping the injured knee. She dropped down and put the knee in an elbow lock, working it harder.

Starkz delivered a bunch of forearms in the corner followed by some shoulder shots. She flipped Olympia out of the corner and kicked her in the back for a two count. Starkz tried a suplex, but Olympia was able to block it.

She pulled Starkz into a crade for a two count, but Starkz went back to the knee. Olympia hit a shotgun dropkick before she could do much damage then hit a pendulum bronco buster in the corner. Starkz kicked out at two.

Olympia got the crowd going and hoisted Starkz above her head for a big slam. She then wrapped Starkz up in a grapevine ankle lock in the center of the ring. Starks punched her in the face and was issued her warning from the ref.

From there Starkz put on a face lock and went up top. Olympia followed her and pulled her down for a swinging slam, but Starkz managed to swing around and turn it into a rollup to get the pin and punch her ticket into the Semi-Finals of the tournament to crown the first ROH Women’s Pure Champion.

Match Result: Billie Starkz defeated Olympia

Ring of Honor TV live results: Matches from Action DEAN~!!! 3

DEAN 3~!!! — the latest collaboration between Ring of Honor and Action Wrestling designed to honor the late Dean Rasmussen of the DVDVR website — takes center stage on tonight’s Ring of Honor TV.

In the headliner, ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty defends against former champion Josh Woods.

In a a Maestros Contra Maestros match (best 2-out-of-3 falls, submission only), Hechicero teams with Xelhua and Dr. Cerebro against Blue Panther, Virus and El Pantera.

In a hair vs. hair match, Mad Dog Connelly takes on Demus El Demonio.

LFI’s Sammy Guevara, The Beast Mortos and Dralistico battle Cheeseburger, Eli Isom and Rhett Titus.

Billie Starkz takes on Nicole Matthews for the first time ever while Wheeler Yuta battles Matt Mako.

Tonight’s Ring of Honor action comes to us from ACTION DEAN~!!!3 a co-production of Ring of Honor and ACTION Wrestling to honor the late Dean Rasmussen. Rasmussen was the founder of Death Valley Driver Video Review, an early wrestling message board that brought exposure to international stars and bizarre matches before such things became easily accesible on YouTube and the like. By all accounts, he was a wonderful guy who brought a lot of joy to wrestling fans everywhere, including a guy with some big ideas named Tony Khan. Dean passed away in 2023, but this now-annual tribute to him is always a great night of wrestling!

Best Two Out Of Three Falls Submissions Only Six Man Tag Team Match: Blue Panther, El Pantera & Virus vs. Dr. Cerebro, Hechicero & Xelhua

And a pretty big one to kick it off with! Hechicero just fought Bandido for the ROH World Championship at Death Before Dushonor and Xelhua went to war with Lee Moriarty for the Pure Championship. Blue Panther, as has been previously established, is very, very old. This match was a submission-ONLY two out of three match, so no pins, just submissions.

Pantera and Cerebro (Magneto?) kicked things off with a more technical exchange than was expected in this lucadore match, buty it was pretty awesome none the less with Pantera working the wrist of Cerebro. Cerebro fought back and tagged in Xelhua, which summoned Blue Panther.

Panther had the much, much younger Xelhua in a headscissor but Xelhua flipped out. Panther responded with a brutal looking ankle stretch and then tagged in Virus, who went one on one with Hechicero. These two put a bit more speed into things, until Hechicero wrapped up Virus’ legs. Virus got out of it though and the two locked up again.

Hechicero kept trying to pin Virus, buyt the ref quickly reminded him that it was submissions only. Pantera tagged in and Hechicero slipped out and a brawl began at ringside. In the ring, Xelhua managed to get Virus to submit to a leg hold, getting the first submission for Team Hechicero.

Xelhua stayed in to face Pantera and was thrown around a bit before slipping out. That brought in Cerebro and Virus who again, kept trying to pin each other. Virus tagged in Panther and Hechicero entered to face the lucha legend.

Panther started a Bryan Danielson “yes” chant (which I’m sure geeked Danielson out big time) and Hechicero tried to get a lock on, but Panter reveresed it and Cerebro broke it up. Panther hit an arm drag and sent Hechicero out which brought Cerebro back in. Pantera took over and then Virus double teamed Cerebro with him.

Xelhua hit a crossbody from the top rope on both Pantera and Virus and the schmozz afterwards let to Panther putting Xelhua in a leg lock, forcing him to submit. That tied things up at 1-1, meaning the next submission would win the match.

Xelhua whiffed on a dropkick giving Virus a chance to get som offence in. Hechicero jumped in to beat up, well, everyone, and that left Hechicero and Virus as legal. They rolled around until Hechicero got a hold on but Pantera broke it up. Cerebro slapped an arm lock on him, but Panther clotheslined him out of it.

Xelhua and Pantera faced off, but at this point any time someone got a lock in, one of their teammates would break it up. Hechicero flew from the top rope onto Pantera and then sent Panther around the world. Hechicero locked in a reverse figure four on Virus, but Pantera broke it up.

Pantera and Cerebro locked up and Pantera had to get to the ropes to stay alive. Virus and Xelhua exchanged arm drags in and out of the ring, leaving Hechicero and Pantera in the ring to duke it out. Hechicero locked in a reverse cloverleaf on Pantera and moved it into a surfboard. Pantera held on as long as he could, but had to tap, giving the win to Team Hechicero.

Match Result: Dr. Cerebro, Hechicero & Xelhua defeated Blue Panther, El Pantera & Virus

Nicole Matthews vs. Billie Starkz

Nicole Matthews is Canadian which means I legally have to root for her, but how can anyone not see Starkz pulling out a win here. Starkz arrived alone, looking much happier to not be invovled in Athena-related drama for the moment.

Matthews relied on her technical skills to get the early advantage with a double knee to the back death lock variation. Matthews switched to a front face lock and Starkz managed to created some space. Starkz started playing mind games, but Matthews put a stop to it. Starkz slapped her and the chops began.

Matthews had a bit more power than Starkz and tossed her into the corner for a few big kicks to the throat followed by a kneelift that left Starkz dazed and staggering. Starkz reversed a powerbomb attempt and flung Matthews head first into the turnbuckle.

Starkz took a little too long soaking in her sucess and Matthews came back with some big punches that were only stopped by and eye poke from Starkz. Matthews went up top for a missile dropkick that sent Starkz flying.

Matthews hit a brainbuster in the middle of the ring, but only got a two-count. Matthews went for a moonsault, but Starkz dodged it and hit a n electric chair-style driver, putting Matthews right on her head and getting the pin.

Match Result: Billie Starkz defeated Nicole Matthews

-Backstage, Sammy Guevara and Rush, the ROH Tag Team Champions were interviewed. Guevara said that LFI are here to stay and if anyone has a problem with it, too bad. Rush agreed.

Wheeler Yuta vs. Matt Mako

Yuta was sadly not participating in the Hair-Vs-Hair match later in the show, but did arrive with Marina Shafir who I assume is allowed to take anything from the fridge while babysitting him. Mako calls himself “Weapon X” but do NOT tell Brian Cage.

Yuta started with a very technical slap to the face, causing Mako to wrap him up in a calf crusher. Yuta got the the ropes though and Mako went for an elbow lock. The two wrestled around (imagine that) until Mako caight Yuta with a spinning heel kick.

Yuta resorted to biting, taking a chunk out of Mako’s ear before sending him out of the ring. Shafir threw him judo style and Yuta dove through the ropes, sending Mako into the barricade. Back in the ring, Yuta hut a senton, but only got a two count.

Yuta dropped an elbow from the top rope, but it was another two count. Mako tried to power back, chopping Yuta from the ground. The two then exchanged a flurry of kicks, with Yuta starting to favour his leg. Shafir, with some very aggressive eyeliner watched with concern from ringside.

Mako tried to pivot to power moves, suplexing and throwing Yuta around the ring. Yuta exposed the steel holding the turnbuckle to the ring post and bounced Mako’s head off if it. Mako fell out of the ring and when Yuta followed, he put a sleeper on him.

Shafir got involved, but not enough to stop Mako from hitting a cannonball on Yuta. Mako tossed him back into the ring and put on an armbreaker. Yuta wormed his way out of it and hit an Angle Slam for a two count.

Mako put Yuta on the top turnbuckle and the two traded blows. Mako hit a superplex followed by a blue thunder bomb, but only got the traditional blue thunder two count. Mako started throwing hands until Yuta hit a back elbow. Yuta put him in a waist lock and suplexed Mako to another two count.

Yuta went up top, but Mako followed. Mako flipped Yuta from the top rope and landed in a cross armbreaker. Shafir got up on the ring apron and Yuta raked the eyes behind the refs back. Yuta then hit a high knee and got the pin.

Match Result: Wheeler Yuta defeated Matt Mako

After the match, Yuta started jawing at Dean Rassmusen’s son, Eric. Eric didn’t back down and Yuta pulled him over the barricaade for a beatdown. Security pulled Yuta off of him and the segment ended.

Sammy Guevara, The Beast Mortos and Dralistico w/ Rush vs Cheeseburger, Eli Isom and Rhett Titus

Guevara and Titus started things off with Guevara giving up about 10 inches in vert to Titus. Dralistic decided he’d rather be in the match and tagged in, stomping Titus in the corner. Mortos then tagged in against Cheeseburger and as was appropriate, ate him.

In reality, he powerbombed him into next month, but it didn’t matter becuase a brawl with all six broke out with the LFI guys making short work of their opponents. Guevara stopped for a moment to pose and then Mortos and Isom fought.

Mortos hit a samoan drop on Isom and Guevara hit a shooting star press for the 1-2-3.

Match Result: Sammy Guevara, The Beast Mortos and Dralistico defeated Cheeseburger, Eli Isom and Rhett Titus

After the match, Mortos and Dralistico piled their opponents in the ring and Guevara grabbed a mic. He assured the crowd that Philadelphia sucks and Orlando is far superior. Guevara said that Dean’s favourite wrestlers were the members of LFI. Guevara put everyone on the back on notice that they were coming for all the titles. Then they beat up Titus, Isom and Cheeseburger some more.

-In the parking lot, Lee Johnson and Blake Christian assured everyone that The Swirl (ugh) are undefeated and undefeatable. Christian said that Bandido is an old chapter in a book that needs to be closed.

Hair Vs. Hair Match: Demus vs. Mad Dog Connelly

So if it’s not obvious, the winner of this match gets to cut the hair of the loser. Connelly looked like Dr Death Steve Williams in terms of his hair style and Demus was rocking a side-shaved mullet. So no matter who wins, someone’s hair is getting an improvement.

These two are pretty much what anyone would think of when the term “bruiser” came up. They immediately began throwing hamhocks with Connelly trying and early cover. He only got a two count though and ripped Demus’ shirt about it.

Connelly choked Demus with his own shirt, causing Demus to rake the eyes. The two battled on the outside with Demus being the first to introduce biting to the match. Connelly then used his own face as a weapon and head butted Demus into the steep steps (yes, you read that right). Connelly then drove him into the steps again, but on the third one, Demus reversed it giving Connelly a taste of his own medicine (spoiler, it tasted like steel).

Back in the ring, Connelly sent Demus into the corner for a splash, but Demus reversed it and raked the eye, followed by a crossbody from the top turnbuckle. Demus bent Connelly in half with a back chin lock and then chopped him in the corner. Demus then bit Connelly’s nipples. Again, you read that right.

Connelly hit a gutwrench slam, but it only got a two count. Connelly rolled out of the ring to get his thoughts together and grab a chair from under the ring. He pounded Demus across the back with it and then set up the chair in the center of the ring. Sitting Demus down in it, he went for a cannon ball, but Demus moved and Connelly hit the chair.

Demus then returned the favour from earlier and hit Connelly with the chair. Demus got Connelly up for a power slam and climbed to the second turnbuckle. Demus hit a senton, but Connelly moved and laid Demus out with a piledriver.

Connelly went up top, but Demus grabbed him for a shoulderbreaker driver and tried a pin for a two-count. Demus went under the ring and grabbed a chain with two collars that they had previously used in a match. Demus got the collar on Connelly and Demus used the chain to literally hang him from the ropes.

Connelly tried to fight back, but it was too much and he passed out on the ring apron (the hariest part of the ring!).

Match Result: Demus defeated Mad Dog Connelly

After the match, Demus called for some clippers and tried to shave Connelly’s head. Connelly had recovered at this point and pushed him away, grabbing the clippers. Connelly began screaming and shaving his own head, not giving Demus the pleasure. Demus grabbed a handful of shaved hair as a trophy and celebrated.

ROH Pure Title Match: Lee Moriarty (c) vs. Josh Woods

Josh Woods held the ROH Pure title for 201 days, but Moriarty has been champion for more than double that, at 413 days, the longest reign ever. Moriarty arrived with the ROH Trios Champions, Shane Taylor Promotions.

To get everyone up to speed, in Pure Rules matches, each competitor gets three rope breaks, then they can be pinned or submitted under the ropes. Each gets one closed-fist warning and any outside interference results in an automatic DQ. Also, the title can change hands on a DQ. If there’s no winner at the time limit (in this case, one hour), a panel of judges will decide the outcome.

Woods and Moriarty worked around the ring, neither one getting a solid hold on the other. Woods sent Moriarty to ther corner, but Moriarty bounced out and pulled him over with an arm drag. Moriarty began working Woods arm and looked for a border city strech early. Woods rolled him into the ropes, causing the ref to decide Woods used a rope break at 57:40.

Woods responded with a gorilla lock, forcing Moriarty to use a rope break at 56:47, evening things up. Moriarty went back to the arm of Woods and the two struggled to lock in an armbar. Woods sent Moriarty into the corner and hung him up on the ropes. He then hit a gutwrench stuplex for a to count.

Woods’ strategy seemed to be the work the midsection of Moriarty, wrapping him in the ropes and peppered him with strikes. He then tried to get Moriarty in a submission, but he was already on the ropes, so Moriarty was docked a second rope break at 54:49.

Moriarty tried the same tactic on Woods and forced him to use a rope break at 52:53. Moriarty then started working to put him away with some big slams, forearms and pinning combinations. Moriarty put a cross armbreaker on Woods in the center of the ring. Woods tried to power out, but Moriarty switched to a triangle.

Woods stood up while still in the triangle and dropped Moriarty to the floor with a powerbomb. He then hit a twisting suplex and went for a pin 1-2-3!

But! Moriarty’s foot was under the ropes, so it did not count. It did cost Moriarty his last rope break though, so when Woods put him in an ankle lock, Moriarty grabbing the ropes did nothing. Moriarty rolled Woods up into a bridge pin and managed to hold him long enough to get the pin.

Match Result: Lee Moriarty defeated Josh Woods

After the match, STP came down to the ring to celebrate with Moriarty. Woods shook his hand and bowed out as Shane Taylor grabbed a mic. He said that all of STP should have been on the card tonight. As a “problem solver” Taylor said he wasn’t leaving until ACTION sent him someone to beat up.

With that, AR Fox arrived and I guess it was time for a match!

Shane Taylor vs AR Fox

Fox got the drop on Taylor off the top, sending him out of the ring. Fox then hit two big dives on him and went for a kick flip moonsault. Taylor caught him in midair though and threw Fox into the barricade repeatedly.

Taylor threw Fox back into the ring and Fox tried to throw som jabs. Taylor responded with a lariat that sent Fox back in time. Taylor then threw him across the ring and stalked over to him. Fox tried to bring the fight back, but Taylor grabbed him an hit a massive chokeslam. Taylor went for a leg drop, but Fox rolled out of the way.

They started trading punches, with Taylor coming out on top. Taylor went for another lariat, but Fox matrix’ed out of it. Fox hit a splash on Taylor in the corner and knocked him down with some elbows. Taylor crawled back up and Fox walked right into some hard chops.

Fox used the barricade as a launching point and hit a stunner on the ring apron. He pushed taylor back into the ring and went for a pin, but only got a two count. Fox went up for a 450, but Taylor rolled out of the way and puched him with a knockout blow, getting the pin and the victory.

Sammy Guevara reveals surprise tag partner at ROH Death Before Dishonor

Sammy Guevara has a new tag team partner.

After losing the ROH Six-Man Tag Team title match earlier in the show, Sammy Guevara and new tag team partner Rush defeated The Outrunners to win the ROH Tag Team titles, with Guevara scoring the win with a swanton bomb.

Following the match, Dralistico came out and celebrated with Rush and Guevara. The Von Erichs, who partnered with Guevara earlier in the night, came out and questioned him. Guevara acted like he wanted everyone to get along, but instead turned against the Von Erich as Rush, Dralistico, and LFI beat them down to boos.

Guevara previously had held the ROH Tag Team titles with Dustin Rhodes, who had also held the Six-Man titles with The Von Erics. Both sets of titles were vacated after Rhodes underwent surgery and new champions were decided at Death Before Dishonor. However, Guevara and the Von Erichs came up short against Shane Taylor Promotions who walked away with the ROH Six-Man titles.

Since returning to television, Guevara has mostly worked for Ring of Honor, aligning himself with Rhodes. However both he and Rhodes competed in a four-way at All In where Dustin won the TNT title. Guevara seemed upset about the loss at the time, but ultimately shook Rhodes’ hand after the match.
