TNT title match part of updated AEW Collision lineup

Three new matches are set for Saturday’s Collision.

During a livestream, Tony Khan announced that Kyle Fletcher was looking to defend the TNT title ahead of Full Gear, where he’s set to face Mark Briscoe. Khan decided to give the opportunity to Scorpio Sky, mentioning that he says has been undefeated since returning to AEW earlier this year.

Khan also took time to praise Maya World and Hyan, noting that they stepped up at the last minute to take on TayJay last week. He said they would get another chance to prove themselves on Saturday by taking on Riho and Alex Windsor. World & Hyan were last minute replacements for Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who walked out of last week’s AEW Collision after they were told they’d only get three minutes for their match that they were scheduled to lose.

In his final announcement, Khan said an All Star 8-Man Tag Team match would take place. Bandido will team up with Juice Robinson and JetSpeed to take on FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush.

Here is the updated lineup for Collision:

AEW Collision, Saturday, November 15 —

  • TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher defends against Scorpio Sky
  • Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Maya World & Hyan
  • All Star 8-Man Tag: Bandido, Juice Robinson, JetSpeed vs. FTR, Sammy Guevara, and Rush
  • Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis

Kenny Omega seemingly responds to Gail Kim’s comments about AEW’s Riho

Gail Kim recently posted some comments online about feeling uncomfortable watching AEW’s Riho wrestle.

While responding to fans on X regarding a clip of Jim Cornette speaking about Riho, Kim offered her own take, saying that she has felt uncomfortable while watching Riho matches previously due the camera work feeling improper and Riho being dressed “like a very little girl.” Kim also says that Riho’s size makes it hard to believe she would be competitive in a division with larger women.

Kim wrote:

“I will say, and I haven’t watched AEW in a very long time, but when I did watch Riho and nothing against her at all bc I am The biggest supporter of all women who wanna make it in this business, but I did feel uncomfortable watching her because the camera shots would go up her skirt and she was always dressed like a very little girl and it felt improper.”

“I am also into very believable Wrestling. Not everyone is especially nowadays. And it was very hard for me to believe a little girl that was being portrayed of that size was fighting the women they had in that division. To put it into context, I find Io, Mia, Asuka, Kairi and Lei Ying to be more believable and I don’t feel uncomfortable watching.”

In response to a fan who wrote that Riho is the same size as WWE’s AJ Lee, Kim responded:

“OK, I’m not taking anything away from her talent. I’m talking about what I saw years ago and what made me feel uncomfortable. She looked like a very young girl in a frilly skirt and the camera man was up her ass. It just felt inappropriate to me.”

Kim concluded her comments on Riho by writing:

“I’m not going to comment on the Riho thing again. I have stated my opinion. It was a four part tweet so you can look at that again if you don’t understand what I was saying. It was more than about her size. It was a combination of things. I was asked about it, and I answered.”

Kenny Omega recently posted a comment online that some fans are taking as being in regard to Kim’s posts, although that cannot be confirmed.

Omega wrote, “Another day and another ‘legend’ doing the splits on it for the yearly TKO gift basket…”

Kim responded to Omega’s post, writing, “If you’re trying to beat around the bush and misinterpret things like the rest of the yahoos, let me clarify that you are wrong.”

Kim, the seven-time TNA Knockouts World Champion, was released from the company in March after a behind-the-scenes shakeup that also saw the departures of executives Rafael Morffi, Ariel Shnerer, Rob Kligman, and Michael Shewchenko. She had been working in talent relations at the time.

Some of Kim’s posts are below:

Title match part of new additions to AEW All Out lineup

Two new matches were added to this month’s AEW All Out from Toronto, Canada, that will see the former AEW World Tag Team Champions in action in addition to the TBS Champion.

Announced near the end of Wednesday’s Dynamite, it was revealed that TBS Champion Mercedes Mone will defend her title against former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho.

That follows Riho’s surprise return earlier in the evening after more than a year out of action. She came out as Mone had Alex Windsor in the Statement Maker after their match had wrapped, breaking it up and then dropkicking the champion out of the ring.

It will be their first-ever encounter.

After a challenge was issued earlier in the show by Ricochet and the Gates of Agony, The Hurt Syndicate of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP later accepted.

Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun contributed to The Hurt Syndicate’s Tag Team title loss at last month’s All In, attacking the champions and fighting to the back. They never came back out, leaving Brodido to defeat FTR to win the titles in a three-way title match.

Last Wednesday, the former champions got revenge, costing Ricochet and the Gates of Agony in their attempt to win the AEW World Trios titles against The Opps.

The show will now start at 3 PM Eastern.

Updated AEW All Out card | Toronto, Canada | Saturday, September 20

  • Adam Copeland & Christian Cage vs. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
  • TBS Champion Mercedes Mone defends against Riho
  • The Hurt Syndicate (Shelton Benjamin, MVP & Bobby Lashley) vs. Ricochet and the Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)

Former AEW Women’s World Champion back on Dynamite after lengthy absence

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho made her surprise return on Wednesday’s Dynamite with a new championship in her sights.

TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and Alex Windsor continued to fight after the bell in the show opener. Mone had Windsor in the Mone Maker when Riho’s music hit and she hit a stomp off the top to Mone. She then hit a dropkick to a seated Mone to send her out of the ring and then focused her attention on Mone’s title.

It was later announced she will challenge Mone for the title at this month’s All Out pay-per-view from Toronto. It will be their first ever match against each other.

It was Riho’s first appearance on AEW TV since a July 2024 match against Lady Frost on Collision. It was in that match where she fractured her arm, putting her out of action. She hasn’t wrestled anywhere since then.

It’s not the first time Riho has missed time due to injury as she suffered a broken collarbone in 2022. She also missed several months in 2024 due to visa issues.

Riho dealing with arm injury following AEW Collision

Rhio has suffered an injury.

On Sunday, the AEW star revealed on Instagram that she had fractured her arm. She wrestled one day prior on Saturday’s AEW Collision, defeating Lady Frost.

“I just fractured my arm but I’m doing very well” she wrote in the caption.

Her match on Saturday was her first since March, where she was unsuccessful in defeating Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s Championship at AEW Big Business. Following that show, she revealed that she was in the process of renewing her visa.

Upon her return at the end of last month, she confronted Serena Deeb after Deeb dared for someone at her level to challenge her. Since then, the rivalry has been showcased on Collision. The two previously faced off at Double or Nothing 2021 in the pre-show match where Deeb defeated Riho to retain the NWA Women’s Championship.

Having been with the company since its inception, Riho is the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion. She last challenged for the title at World’s End, losing to current champion Toni Storm.

AEW Collision live results: MJF opens the show

Following his actions on AEW Dynamite, MJF opens this week’s AEW Collision from Southaven, MS.

The former AEW World Champion savagely attacked Daniel Garcia on Wednesday following his loss to Will Ospreay, bloodying him up with his Dynamite Diamond Ring and delivering a second rope tombstone piledriver, scurrying away when Ospreay made his way back to the ring.

The second men’s Owen Hart Foundation semifinal will take place as Hangman Page takes on Jay White. The winner faces Bryan Danielson this Wednesday to determine AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland’s challenger for August’s All In.

After being out since March, Riho will make her in-ring AEW return against Lady Frost. AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will be in non-title action, taking on Trish Adora.

The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly & Orange Cassidy) will take on the Iron Savages (Jacked Jameson, Bulk & Bear).

We’ll also hear from new TNT Champion Jack Perry and from the Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne).

**********

It’s Saturday night, you know what that means. Collision starts with a recap of MJF’s attack on Daniel Garcia from this past Wednesday’s Dynamite, with words from Matt Menard telling MJF that he had better be sure that he finished the job. MJF made his way to the ring as Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

MJF Town Hall

A good reset for MJF, as his reasons for turning on the fans were strong and logical. His vendetta against the fans allows him to go after any babyface he wants, with his focus seeming to be on Will Ospreay in particular.

MJF immediately dumps on the locals, calling them inbred. MJF said that Daniel Garcia was nothing but a pawn. He was never going to give Garcia a match at All In: Wembley and was always going to stab him in the back. MJF called Garcia a Make-A-Wish kid, having offered him the biggest match of his life only for Garcia to not answer him. After what he did to Garcia, MJF said that he would never wrestle again.

MJF then threw to footage from the August 2nd, 2023, episode of Dynamite where he opened up to the fans about his mental issues and the childhood bullying he endured. Back in the ring, MJF was furious at the fans for turning on him despite him opening up about those issues. He watched from home as people chanted Thank You Joe for taking the World Title from him. The fans turned on him in favor of people like Swerve Strickland, Kazuchika Okada, and Will Ospreay.

MJF said what he did wasn’t personal to Garcia, it was personal to the fans. He was going to take everything from the fans because what they like sucks. MJF said that the fans have ruined the promotion that he built, and the only way to fix it will be with him on top. MJF said that Will Ospreay was a child, who only cared about star ratings instead of Nielson ratings. MJF challenged Ospreay to a fight right now.

Ospreay’s music hit, but Schiavone noted that Ospreay wasn’t here. MJF said that Ospreay wasn’t here because he was a two-faced coward before telling the fans that they could thank him later.

The Conglomeration were backstage with Lexy Nair. Kyle O’Reilly was bummed out after Forbidden Door, but Mark Briscoe fired them up with the word of the day: epiphany. Failure was only in the mind, and they were going to get a piece of the Iron Savages tonight. As usual, Orange Cassidy didn’t care.

The Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy) defeated Iron Savages (Boulder, Bronson & Jacked Jameson)

I wondered what the point of putting O’Reilly against the Undisputed Kingdom was since they feuded very recently. But if the Conglomeration is going to be a regular unit, then making this a trios feud will be fun.

The Undisputed Kingdom made their way to the commentary table. After some shenanigans with the Savage Sauce, the Savages isolated O’Reilly as we went to a commercial. After the break, Briscoe got a hot tag in and ran wild. After some cajoling from Briscoe, Cassidy tagged in and ran wild on all three Savages. Cassidy and O’Reilly hit a high knee/chop block combination, leading to Cassidy scoring the win with an Orange Punch on Bronson.

TNT Champion Jack Perry spoke backstage in the reflection of his newly won championship. He challenged the first TNT Champion for the title, but he wasn’t ready then. Perry said that he was now ready to make the sacrifices needed to be champion and spoke as if he was issuing an open challenge for the title tonight.

We got a video package highlighting Swerve Strickland’s successful AEW World Championship defense at Forbidden Door.

Hangman Adam Page was backstage with Lexy Nair. When asked why he returned now, Page said it was because of convenience. Not for him, but for them, referring to the Young Bucks. They didn’t care about what he and his family were going through, it only mattered when they found an opportunity to use him. He knew why Hangman was back, this time referring to Swerve Strickland. Pronouns, pal. Hangman promised to his dying breath to go to Wembley Stadium and right the wrongs done to him in the past. When asked about wrestling a man he’s never beaten in Jay White in tonight’s tournament match, Page walked off.

Toni Storm (w/Luther & Mariah May) defeated Trish Adora (w/ The Infantry)

Adora took an early advantage, tying Storm up in several submissions. Storm came back with a hip attack that sent Adora off the apron. Storm then took the mic and threw it to commercial after requesting a standing ovation.

After the break, Adora caught Storm with a Bossman Slam backbreaker. Adora caught Storm with a kneeling German suplex but got tripped up on a corner charge. That allowed Storm to hit a hip attack and a DDT for a nearfall. A strike exchange ended with Storm catching a lariat and hitting the Storm Zero for the win.

We got a video package previewing Willow Nightingale vs. Mariah May in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Finals.

After a promo for the new Brodie Lee memorial Reeboks, Christian Cage & The Patriarchy were backstage. He said that people were shocked that he allowed Bullet Club Gold to speak to him that way last week. They had to google who the champions were because of how lackluster the champions were before running them all down one-by-one. Cage planned on bringing the Trios Championships to new heights, and hoped to bring out the Jay White that everyone thought they were getting when he signed to AEW.

Cage called in Kip Sabian, who was standing near their camera shot. Sabian said that he just lost his father. Cage said that Sabian should be happy that his father wasn’t around to see what a disappointment Sabian turned out to be. Cage then had Killswitch beat up Sabian off-screen.

TNT Championship Open Challenge – Jack Perry defeated Marko Stunt to retain

What a pull, getting Perry’s old partner Stunt for his first title defense. Stunt was fantastic here, bumping like a madman for Perry as the hometown crowd went wild for him. I wouldn’t be opposed to Stunt being a regular again if he can make everyone look as good as he helped Perry look. This was perfect for what they went out there to do.

Perry looked like he saw a ghost, seeing his former Jurassic Express partner and local hero Marko Stunt accept his challenge. Perry offered Stunt the chance to leave, but Stunt instead headbutted him and laid in the shots. Perry laid him out with a clothesline and laid in shots. Stunt went for a tornado DDT, but Perry lawn darted him into the turnbuckle for a sick nearfall.

The crowd chanted for Stunt as Perry laid the boots to him. Stunt fired up, catching Perry with a hurricanrana off of a suplex attempt. Stunt hit a tornado codebreaker before going to the top rope. Perry caught Stunt off the top rope and powerbombed him into the turnbuckle. Perry then hit the Glass Jaw knee for the win.

We got a video package on Bryan Danielson’s win on Dynamite, which advanced him to the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament finals.

Claudio Castagnoli defeated The Beast Mortos

This was a fun first-time encounter between these two international powerhouses. Powerhomes? They’re keeping Castagnoli warm for something, possibly a title challenge.

Mortos caught Castagnoli with a chop block, but Castagnoli came back with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and a stomp. Mortos came back with a gamengiri and a powerslam for a nearfall. Mortos went for a rising knee in the corner but Castagnoli moved, sending Mortos over the top rope into a cameraman. Mortos avoided a baseball slide before hitting a tornillo to the floor. Castagnoli sent Mortos into the post before hitting a back suplex as we went to the commercial.

They traded strikes as we came back from the break, with Mortos scoring a nearfall with a pop-up Samoan drop. Mortos hit a step-up headbutt but ran into an uppercut. Mortos popped out of a Ricola Bomb and hit a spear for a nearfall. Castagnoli vaulted Mortos to the floor on a monkey flip attempt, then high-fived the cameraman Mortos ran into before hitting a running uppercut on the barricade.

Mortos came back, picking Castagnoli up and dropping him with a Bane-esque backbreaker for a nearfall. Castagnoli caught Mortos off the second rope with an uppercut, then hit the Giant Swing. Castagnoli hit a running lariat for the win.

Matt Menard was backstage with Lexy Nair. He suffered a concussion in the attack by MJF on Wednesday. Daniel Garcia is back at home in Buffalo, having lost all strength in the left side of his body. He will be making a full recovery, and Menard promised him that he’d let Garcia get his hands on him first. MJF didn’t know when that would be, but when it came, he wouldn’t get dancing Daniel Garcia. MJF would get Red Death.

Serena Deeb spoke on Riho’s return backstage. She spoke on their highly acclaimed match from Double or Nothing 2021, but warned Riho that she was stronger than she was back then.

Riho defeated Lady Frost

Always good to see Riho back in action. I was live for the Deeb/Riho match from Double or Nothing 2021, and it was a standout match. It’s interesting to see a downcard feud in the women’s division. No titles or massive grudge, just two talents looking to find out who is the better woman. I like it.

Frost started with the advantage, hitting a neckbreaker for a nearfall. Riho sidestepped a Frost corner charge, getting her in position for a 619 – or an 03 if you want the area code for Shinagawa, Japan. Riho hit a high cross for a nearfall as we went to commercial.

After the break, Riho sent Frost to the floor and hit a high cross to the floor. Frost avoided a double stomp and hit the Chilla Drilla for a nearfall. They traded strikes before Frost hit an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Frost hit a high-arcing moonsault for a nearfall. Riho came back with a dragon suplex before hitting a leg-trap Code Red called Runhei – for reference, Kofi Kingston does a similar move called the SOS – for the win.

Shane Taylor Promotions & Top Flight were backstage with Lexy Nair, with a match set up between them for next week’s Rampage. They got in each other’s faces before leaving with no physicality.

We got a video package hyping the Samoa Joe vs. Chris Jericho Stampede Street Fight on next week’s Dynamite.

Owen Hart Foundation 2024 Men’s Tournament Semifinal Match – Hangman Page defeated Jay White

This was an awesome main event. These two had great chemistry, with White picking his spots against Page like a bullfighter sidestepping a raging bull. Several threads came together with the finish, with Jeff Jarrett and Christian Cage getting involved to set up future bouts. This was an odd match on paper, but it came together beautifully.

Ring announcer Bobby Cruise informed the crowd before the bell that the Bang Bang Gang were to be ejected from the building by order of The Young Bucks, as the Bucks continue to try and curry favor with Page. Page took the fight to White, laying in heavy strikes to White in and out of the ring. Page sent White flying with a fallaway slam, but White caught Page with a neck wringer across the ropes.

Page came back quickly, sending White to the floor with a triangle clothesline and a hard whip into the barricade. Back in the ring, White almost caught Page with a Blade Runner, but Page clawed at White’s face to escape before spinning him around in a sleeper hold.

After a commercial, Page was heavily lacerated as White caught Page’s leg with a Dragon Screw leg whip. White hammered Page with chops before clawing his eyes. White dropped Page with a DDT for a nearfall. Page hit a rolling elbow, but White caught him with a swift flatliner before hitting a deadlift German suplex.

The two fought to the apron as the announcers ran down the Dynamite card, with the addition of a Global Glory Four-Way Match between Claudio Castagnoli, Kyle Fletcher, PAC, & Tomohiro Ishii. Also announced was a match for Collision next week as Konosuke Takeshita would take on Tommy Billington in Calgary. Page sent White into the ring post before powerbombing him into the apron.

Page went for the Buckshot Lariat, but White slumped to the mat, baiting White into a small package for a nearfall. White caught Page with another Dragon Screw through the ropes, but Page came back with a pop-up powerbomb for a nearfall. Page went for another Buckshot, but White caught him with a uranage for a nearfall. White hit a sleeper suplex, but Page fought out of the Blade Runner. The two countered each other’s finishers before Page sent White into the referee.

Page got a visual cover with a Deadeye before whipping White with his belt. Jeff Jarrett came down to take the belt away from Page before getting escorted away by another referee. Christian Cage snuck into the ring to spear White, allowing Page to hit the Buckshot Lariat to clinch his spot in the tournament final. A bloody Page eyed up the Owen Trophy as the show ended.

Two matches, Christian Cage & Jack Perry promos announced for AEW Collision

Image: AEW

The lineup for Saturday’s AEW Collision in Southaven, Mississippi, has been further bolstered with two new matches and promos from both Christian Cage and Jack Perry.

Former AEW Women’s Champion Riho will return to the AEW ring for her first match since March when she takes on Lady Frost. Riho recently returned to confront Serena Deeb after Deeb asked for tougher competition.

The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly & Orange Cassidy) will unite in trios action against the Iron Savages. Briscoe declared himself for the upcoming Blood & Guts on behalf of Team AEW while O’Reilly was taken out by The Elite when he attempted to defend Briscoe from an attack.

New TNT Champion Jack Perry (seen above) will be on hand to share his thoughts following his title win at Forbidden Door while The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne) are also scheduled for the show to share their mind.

The additions join the previously announced MJF promo, the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semifinal between Jay White and Hangman Page, and AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm vs. Trish Adora in non-title action.

  • The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly & Orange Cassidy) vs. Iron Savages (Jacked Jameson, Bulk & Bear)

Riho returns, confronts Serena Deeb on AEW Collision

Riho is back.

After quickly defeating her opponent on Collision, Serena Deeb issued a challenge to the AEW locker room, asking anyone on her level to challenge her. Riho came out and the two had a staredown.

Riho had been out of action since March 13, when she lost to Willow Nightingale in the main event of AEW Big Business. The following month, Riho revealed in an Instagram Stories post that she was currently in Japan and in the process of renewing her visa.

“I am currently in Japan for renew my VISA,” she wrote at the time. “I don’t know when I will return to AEW. Please stay healthy and enjoy your life until then.”

Riho had returned earlier in the year after taking another absence in December following AEW World’s End, where she was unsuccessful in challenging Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s Championship. Making her return in February, she picked up wins over Trish Adora and Kris Statlander before taking on Nightingale.

AEW wrestler Riho in process of renewing visa

AEW wrestler Riho is currently in the process of renewing her visa.

In a Friday night post to her Instagram stories, Riho informed fans that she’s currently in Japan to renew her visa. She doesn’t know when she’ll be returning to AEW.

She wrote:

I am currently in Japan for renew my VISA. I don’t know when I will return to AEW. Please stay healthy and enjoy your life until then

Riho’s most recent match was against Willow Nightingale in the main event of the Big Business edition of AEW Dynamite on March 13. Nightingale defeated Riho to win that match.

In February, Riho returned to AEW after having been away since December’s Worlds End pay-per-view. She unsuccessfully challenged Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Worlds End.

Riho defeated Trish Adora in February and Kris Statlander in March prior to her loss against Nightingale at Big Business.

As the inaugural champion, Riho held the AEW Women’s World title from October 2019 to February 2020.

Riho vs. Kris Statlander added to AEW Dynamite

A new singles match has been announced for Dynamite.

Tony Khan announced on Tuesday that Kris Statlander will square off against Riho.

“After a big win in Greensboro on Sunday, former TBS Champion Kris Statlander battles former @AEW Women’s World Champion Riho in Georgia on Dynamite TOMORROW!,” Khan wrote.

Statlander teamed with Willow Nightingale at AEW Revolution Zero Hour on Saturday, defeating Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Riho made her latest return to AEW on the February 24 edition of Rampage, defeating Trish Adora.

The only other match announced for Wednesday is Will Ospreay taking on Kyle Fletcher in another match between two members of the Don Callis family. However, Tony Khan at the AEW Revolution media scrum on Sunday said the match is in question after Ospreay suffered an injury to the back during his match against Konosuke Takeshita.

Here is the updated lineup for Wednesday’s Dynamite, which will feature a new logo and a new set:

  • Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher
  • Kris Statlander vs. Riho

AEW Rampage live results: Riho returns

Former Women’s World Champion Riho returns on tonight’s AEW Rampage.

Appearing for the first time in AEW in 2024, Riho will face Trish Adora in a women’s division contest. Riho last wrestled for AEW at Worlds End in December in an unsuccessful Women’s World title challenge against Toni Storm.

A qualifying bout for the Revolution All-Star Scramble match is also set for tonight’s episode. Matt Sydal faces CMLL’s Magnus in the qualifier, with the winner advancing to the Scramble set for Sunday’s pay-per-view. The Scramble winner will receive a future World title shot.

Another CMLL star will be in action on tonight’s episode, as Rugido takes on the Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli.

A trios match with Lance Archer teaming with Vincent & Dutch of The Righteous has also been announced for tonight’s card.

This week’s Rampage was taped last Saturday in Springfield, Missouri. Spoilers for the show are available here.

Claudio Castignoli defeated Rugido

Rugido goes for the ground game quickly, but Castignoli locked on a crossfrace quickly before an escape. Castignoli stomped away before working on the arm for a bit and then landing a slingshot into the throat of Rugido for two. Rugido sent him down on the floor with an Asai moonsault with ease. Claudio recovered and landed a corner uppercut before a lariat for two. Rugido landed a snap powerslam for two. Claudio avoided a cross armbreaker and locked on the giant swing instead that gets two. The Neutralizer is applied and Castignoli earns a pre-Revolution win!

Post-match, Castignoli hits him low and Magnus makes a save while Castignoli ran away triumphant. A recap airs of Sting outsmarting the Young Bucks on Wednesday night’s Dynamite – it’s surreal to see Sting and Flair closing out a TNT video package in 2024 after seeing them close out Nitro 23 years ago.

A recap of Samoa Joe’s path of destruction as AEW World Champion airs before showcasing the issues between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page to set the stage for the triple threat AEW World Title match at Revolution. Lance Archer and The Righteous make their way to the ring to massacre dudes. The Righteous’ theme alongside Vincent’s snapping works so much better than it should.

Lance Archer and The Righteous defeat Anaya, Vaught, and Luke Langley

Vincent snapped his way out of a tie-up attempt before a flying forearm and a snap flatliner. Dutch is tagged in to club away and land a slick gutwrench powerbomb. Langley gets tagged in and eats a black hole slam before Archer tagged in to clothesline Vaught. Anaya ate the run-up cutter from the Righteous and the Blackout from Archer won the day for this new trios team that feels tailor-made for the ROH Six-Man Titles.

The history between Deonna Purrazzo and “Timeless” Toni Storm is recapped before their Revolution Women’s World Title match.

Riho defeated Trish Adora

Riho, the ultimate babyface, started off by hopping and dancing around the ring a bit before the tieup after Matt Menard scolded Adora for her team stealing some of the Outrunners’ classic offense. Adora is sent outside by a Riho dropkick before Riho perched herself on the top rope for a crossbody to the floor and throws her in for two. A mid-ring crossbody from Riho is met with a powerslam into a twisting Irish curse for two.

During the break, Adora dealt out some damage with an over the knee submission and kicks to the spine of a seated Riho. Adora continued the assault on the back by catching Riho during a headscissor attempt and landed a side backbreaker. Riho finally got the crossbody for two and fired up enough to get the deja vu flying headscissor. Riho’s dragon suplex was countered by her larger foe, but the northern lights suplex got 2. Riho landed a slick crucific bomb for 2 before the basement double knee strike landed and got a win for the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion!

Alex Marvez met with Ruby Riho and Cool Hand Ang before their first date, but Saraya and Harley interrupt and Ang eats a blackjack to the face courtesy of Zak Knight.

A video package airs hyping up Magnus with CMLL clips before the main event. Magnus’ theme has tons of epic trumpets and horns and wouldn’t be out of place in God of War. Menard asks if Magnus is wearing two masks as it’s plain as day, so Nigel asks him if Sydal is in fact wearing kneepads – Nigel is a riot on commentary.

Magnus defeated Matt Sydal and Advances to the Revolution All-Star Scramble

Sydal gained an early advantage with a wheelbarrow armdrag and a quick two off a sunset flip. Sydal sent him outside and dove onto him off the top flawlessly. Sydal landed the mariposa senton for two. Magnus recovered to get a butterfly backbreaker for two. Magnus kept the damage to the spine alive with an STF and a delayed vertical suplex during an ad break.

Magnus landed an Angel’s Wings for two. Sydal recovered landing a gamenguri in the corner and sent him down with a brainbuster for two. Magnus avoided a middle-rope springboard to gain an edge before they went back and forth with forearm shots and a Sydal kick gave him an advantage. He went up top only to eat a shot to the jaw, but recovered enough to send Magnus down and a meteora off the second rope got two.

Magnus sent him down with Wasteland and a legdrop before going up top and attempting a rana. Magnus took aim in the opposite corner and lands a vicious pair of shotgun knees to the face to win the match! This was a fine showcase for Magnus, who worked as an effective heel and goes onto the all-star scramble on Revolution.

Riho’s return announced for AEW Rampage

Riho’s return will be part of this week’s AEW Rampage lineup.

AEW’s Tony Khan announced on social media on Tuesday that Riho, a former Women’s World Champion, will have her first AEW match of 2024 on Friday’s Rampage episode against Trish Adora.

Riho was last seen in AEW at the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30, 2023 where she dropped a Women’s World title match to Toni Storm.

Toni Storm vs. Riho Women’s title match added to AEW Worlds End

Riho is next up for Timeless Toni Storm.

Riho defeated Saraya in a number one contender’s match on Wednesday’s Dynamite. With the win, she will now challenge Toni Storm for the Women’s Championship at AEW Worlds End, which takes place in Long Island on December 30.

Following the match, Toni Storm came down to the ring to confront Riho, who responded by attacking Storm. Mariah May, who has been seen idolizing Storm in recent weeks, came to the ring and blasted Riho with the Women’s title, allowing Storm to recover.

After being gone from AEW for over six months, Riho made her return to the promotion following Full Gear, attacking Storm and making it clear she wanted a shot at the Women’s title. Since then, she’s picked up a win over Ruby Soho on the December 13 edition of Dynamite.

Here is the updated card for Worlds End:

  • AEW World Championship: MJF defends against Samoa Joe
  • AEW Women’s Championship: Toni Storm defends against Riho
  • AEW Continental Classic finals

Jay White vs. Mark Briscoe, Riho return match signed for AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming

The Continental Classic tournament continues on this Wednesday’s Winter is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite as Jay White takes on Mark Briscoe.

White is looking for his third win of the tournament and three more points while Briscoe is in search of his first tournament victory.

White has wins over Rush and Jay Lethal while Briscoe has gone down in defeat to Rush, Swerve Strickland and Jon Moxley. This is a rematch from last month’s Dynamite in which White picked up the victory.

Also new for the show: former AEW Women’s Champion Riho against perennial challenger Ruby Soho in their first singles match since May when Soho picked up the win.

Riho made her surprise return on last Wednesday’s show at the end of Toni Storm’s AEW Women’s title defense over Skye Blue. This will be Riho’s first AEW action since mid-June.

In a new promo segment, the Golden Jets (Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho) will share some thoughts after Omega was jumped by Big Bill on Saturday’s edition of AEW Collision. After Bill & Ricky Starks took out Jericho after last month’s Full Gear, it’s expected Starks & Bill will defend the titles against the Jets at this month’s Worlds End.

Here’s the current Winter is Coming card for Arlington, Texas:
