AEW team Brodido announced for indie match

AEW Tag Team Champions Brodido will be working The Good Brothers in an indie match later this month.

It’s been announced that a non-title bout between Brody King & Bandido and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson will take place in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Saturday, November 29. The match is part of the annual WrestleCade SuperShow — which is a Thanksgiving weekend tradition in Winston-Salem during the WrestleCade convention.

The show is happening at the Benton Convention Center and will be broadcast via Title Match Network. Also announced for the card is a singles bout with Killer Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux) facing Psycho Boy Fodder (w/ Angelina Love).

Originally put together as a makeshift team, Brodido have thrived in the AEW tag division, becoming champs this August. They have a title defense coming up soon against FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) at AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view on November 22.

This will be the first time Brodido have faced The Good Brothers. Gallows & Anderson — who have experience in WWE, NJPW, TNA, AEW, and more — are set to debut for MLW on November 20.

WrestleCade 2025 is being held from November 28-30, with Sting, Trish Stratus, Kazuchika Okada, Jushin Thunder Liger, The Hardys, and Arn Anderson among those who will be attending the convention portion of the weekend.

Good Brothers to make MLW debut

The Good Brothers are coming to MLW for the first time ever.

MLW confirmed today that Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows will debut for the promotion in Charleston, South Carolina next month. The official announcement was made after The Good Brothers cut a social media promo saying they wanted to be involved in the Thursday, November 20 event — which is being put on by MLW in partnership with Hollywood star Danny McBride and his Don Gato tequila brand.

Gallows & Anderson will be wrestling at the show, but their opponents have not been announced yet. The duo are one of the most well-traveled teams in wrestling, having held gold for WWE, NJPW, TNA, and more. The MLW tag belts are held by Donovan Dijak & Bishop Dyer at the moment.

Since their most recent WWE stint ended this February, The Good Brothers have wrestled on the indies while remaining free agents. They also worked a date for NJPW in the United States back in May.

This is The Good Brothers’ first time wrestling for MLW, but they do have ties to the company dating back to a decade ago when their Talk ‘n’ Shop podcast originally was part of the MLW Radio network.

A special appearance by Arn Anderson has also been announced for the MLW x Don Gato Tequila event. It’s taking place at Charleston Music Hall and will air live on YouTube and beIN Sports.

Good Brothers to team with Young Bucks at NJPW Resurgence

The Good Brothers are officially free agents — and they’ve already booked their NJPW return.

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson entered free agency today with 90 days having passed since WWE released them. NJPW announced that the two will return to the promotion this Friday at Resurgence, where they’ll reunite with their former Bullet Club faction members The Young Bucks in an eight-man tag match against Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, Clark Connors & Gedo of Bullet Club War Dogs.

NJPW shared a promo with Gallows & Anderson addressing their return:

“What you’re witnessing here today my friends, it is not a re-debut. It is not an arrival shot. It is a resurrection. It is the resurgence of the Good Brothers,” Gallows said.

“May 9 is day one at Resurgence,” Anderson added. “You are witnessing a total takeover.”

Gallows & Anderson have had three reigns together as IWGP Tag Team Champions in NJPW. Anderson has also held singles gold in the company with one reign as NEVER Openweight Champion.

Their most recent WWE run lasted from late 2022 until February 2025. Resurgence will be Anderson’s first time wrestling since undergoing surgery last November for a torn rotator cuff and partially torn labrum.

Friday’s show is taking place from Toyota Arena in Ontario, California and will air on New Japan World as a pay-per-view. Here is the updated card:

NJPW Resurgence (Friday, May 9) —

  • IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto defends against Zack Sabre Jr.

Rocky Romero details ‘stressful’ Good Brothers NJPW-WWE situation

On the latest edition of The Sessions with Renee Paquette, Rocky Romero discussed the “stressful situation” of trying to juggle The Good Brothers’ WWE return with their NJPW appearances.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made their return to WWE this October, appearing on Raw for the first time since being released in April 2020. But despite coming back to WWE, Anderson is still NJPW’s NEVER Openweight Champion. Anderson’s return to WWE meant that he couldn’t make a scheduled title defense against Hikuleo on November 5 due to needing to be in Saudi Arabia for WWE Crown Jewel. The match was instead rescheduled for earlier this month, with Anderson defeating Hikuleo to retain the NEVER title.

Romero told Paquette that there was initially some confusion over the NJPW dates that The Good Brothers were going to be working, but the situation has been figured out and NJPW has turned it into a “big angle.” Anderson will again appear for NJPW when he defends the NEVER Openweight Championship against Tama Tonga at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4.

Romero said:

It’s been a very stressful situation for me [laughs]. Obviously, when the guys started talking about WWE had reached out to them, I of course started to get nervous because I knew that we had a bunch of dates set and everything and obviously, like you [Renee Paquette] said, Anderson was the NEVER Openweight Champion. I got worried and I said, ‘You know, you guys just don’t screw me over please.’ I was part of the reason that you guys came back and helped to, you know? Obviously, they left on good terms and everything, but just to bring them back was definitely a part of that.

So we started talking about that but then finally [Anderson] was like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna sign and somebody’s gonna have to talk to WWE.’ So of course that means me having to talk to WWE. But I got on the line and obviously, there was some confusion on the dates that they were gonna actually do and there was that November 5 show that Anderson had already been announced for for New Japan but then it was also the same time that the Saudi Arabia show was going on. Obviously there was gonna be conflict right there, so that’s kind of how it started. It started off real rocky and they went and did Saudi, we figured it out, got a new date, and then just decided to turn it into a big angle because I thought that was probably the best way to deal with it. Hoping that everything was gonna work out but not really sure. Finally, [Anderson] went and did this last show a couple days ago and successfully defended the title. So now he’ll be at the Tokyo Dome to face Tama Tonga, which is really exciting. Dude, this Tokyo Dome is gonna be insane. We have a WWE wrestler in Karl Anderson, we have Kenny Omega who’s an AEW wrestler, we’ve got Stardom wrestlers on the show, we’ve got New Japan wrestlers.

Paquette asked Romero what the odds are that AJ Styles could come to Wrestle Kingdom 17 with Anderson. “Anything is possible, Renee,” Romero responded. “Anything is possible.”

When indirectly asked about the rumors of Mercedes Varnado (Sasha Banks) showing up at Wrestle Kingdom 17, Romero didn’t confirm or deny the appearance but promised that there will be surprises at the Tokyo Dome.

I’ve heard a lot of rumors but I don’t really — I cannot confirm nor deny at this moment. But you know, fingers crossed that — you never know what could happen. Definitely will be some surprises at the Tokyo Dome.

The Good Brothers comment on WWE return, relationship with Triple H

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have opened up about being asked to return to WWE after having been released from the company in 2020.

The Good Brothers appeared on After the Bell with Corey Graves and spoke about receiving a text from Paul “Triple H” Levesque during their final television taping with Impact Wrestling.

“We had done the two years in Impact, thankful to them it was a great two years there but we wanted to recharge our batteries, wanted to hit Japan pretty hard,” Gallows said. “So, we were like, let’s take this time, let’s go to Japan through the new year and then let’s make a decision on what we want to do.”

“So, we’re in Dallas and we’re doing our last match with the Motor City Machine Guns and we get a text that says, ‘Hey guys, can we talk?'”

Gallows would continue to say that the text was from Levesque.

“We still didn’t know if this was something that we could do or wanted to do or what was going to come out of it after what happened the last time. Then we got on the phone and we could feel the new vibe and how positive everything was and one thing led to another from there.”

Anderson would then speak about their history with Triple H.

“We always had a really good relationship with Triple H,” he said. “He was our guy when our contract was coming up in 2019, it was Hunter who we talked with and ended up signing a new deal with in 2019. So, we had a good relationship and I think that’s why when we got released, I held some angst.”

Anderson continued to say they didn’t speak to Triple H, aside from one brief text exchange, for two and a half years following their release. In late August, they would speak with him again after Anderson and Gallows returned from Impact’s television taping in Dallas.

“We get home and we do a facetime with Hunter, we talked, asked how the families were. We got asked if we wanted to come back, kind of talked out our issues, and said, ‘Hey, that was then, this is now, let’s push forward and go.'”

“I’m getting chills now thinking about it because I didn’t think we’d ever have that talk again. Not just the business talk, to get the personal talk out. It was nice to get all that on the table, it’s over, let’s go, now we’re going forward.”

“We still had to go back to Japan, we had to go on a 10-day tour, I had a singles match with Tanahashi. Then we had to go to England for New Japan, that was October 1 and 2 and nobody knew that we had already planned to do October 10 in New York City.”

Karl Anderson says he’s ‘double-booked,’ won’t defend title at NJPW Battle Autumn

Karl Anderson will not be defending his NEVER Openweight Championship on November 5.

NJPW had previously announced Anderson would face Hikuleo on the Battle Autumn tour stop. On WWE Raw this week, however, it was revealed that the Good Brothers will team with AJ Styles to take on Judgment Day at Crown Jewel on the same date.

In a video posted to his social media on Wednesday, Anderson says NJPW didn’t run the November 5 date by his booking agent and tag partner, Doc Gallows, first. The Good Brothers confirmed that they won’t be on the NJPW show.

“New Japan Pro Wrestling, few questions,” Gallows begins in the video. “Are we the OG Bullet Club? Yes. Are we the world-famous Good Brothers? Yes. Are we repping OC on WWE Monday Night Raw? Yes. And do all bookings still go through the Big LG when it comes to ‘Bright Lights,’ when it comes to the Good Brothers? Yes, they do.”

“You guys announced ‘Bright Lights’, ‘The Machine Gun’ Karl Anderson for a match on November 5. Guess what? We’re a little double-booked because you didn’t run it through me. So, he ain’t coming. We’re not coming unless it’s on our time.”

“New Japan Pro Wrestling, listen, I love what you’ve done for the Good Brothers through these years,” Anderson added. “But let me tell you something, I am the greatest NEVER Openweight Champion of all time. I only work when the lights are bright and November 5, we ain’t coming. We’ll come on our time. The Machine Gun will tell you when I’m coming to defend my championship.”

NJPW Strong results: Fred Rosser vs. Chris Dickinson

Tonight saw the next set of matches from NJPW Strong’s Autumn Attack tapings in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ian Riccaboni and Alex Koslov were running down tonight’s card when Young Lion Kevin Knight appeared, albeit briefly. He wanted to let both STRONG Tag Team champions Aussie Open and Team Filthy know that he was going to be scouting their match tonight, because Knight and his tag team partner, The DKC, are looking to challenge for the tag titles in the near future.

Doc Gallows defeated Che Cabrera

“Wild Rhino” Clark Connors was on commentary for a few of tonight’s matches.

Cabrera’s nickname is “Latino Meat” and the crowd sounded to have had a good time chanting “Beat That Meat!” at Gallows, who pinned Cabrera in a little over five minutes with an Anarchy Suplex.

STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship match: Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) (c) defeated Team Filthy (JR Kratos & Danny Limelight)

This was really good.

When Kratos and Davis were in together early on, we had a mini-hoss battle on our hands. Davis is deceptively big and is about the same height as Kratos, actually. They crashed into each other with shoulder blocks. Team Filthy later stood over Davis and posed with “The Filthy Flex.”

Kratos later held Fletcher in a stalling suplex before slamming him into the mat. Limelight tagged in and worked Fletcher over for a bit, at one point connecting with a flying lariat into the corner.

Davis and Kratos went at it again later in the match. Both traded forearms and palm strikes. Kratos tossed Davis with a big release German suplex; Davis answered back with a flying harpoon elbow smash in the corner to a seated Kratos.

Aussie Open attempted to hoist Kratos up for Coriolis, their double-team finisher, but they weren’t able to get Kratos in the air. Limelight broke up the hold, and Kratos connected with a jumping back enzuigiri to Davis’ head. Limelight then bounced off the middle rope and caught Fletcher with a springboard Canadian Destroyer, or the Puerto Rican Destroyer, as Riccaboni called it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before, it looked wild. Kratos immediately dashed off the apron onto the floor, somersaulting onto Davis. We’ll call this spot the “Liger XXL.”

Limelight landed a frog splash back in the ring but only scored a count of two. The crowd ate this up and were chanting “This-is-awe-some!” by this point in the match.

Fletcher took Limelight out with a 360 tombstone piledriver. Aussie Open then used a creative double-team power offense to neutralize Kratos. Davis & Fletcher then locked the double-pumphandle clutch on Limelight and finally put him away with Coriolis; Aussie Open retains. Again, really good stuff from both teams.

STRONG Openweight Championship match: Fred Rosser (c) and Chris Dickinson wrestled to a count-out

Rosser was fired up before the match got underway. He even attacked Dickinson before the bell rang while he was still wearing his STRONG Openweight championship belt. Dickinson was able to throw Rosser with a release German suplex, which halted Rosser’s sudden onslaught. Dickinson was away from NJPW for a few months and is now a bitter, nasty heel, which turned out to be the perfect complement to Rosser’s no-BS-tough-guy approach. Dickinson paintbrushed Rosser’s head while he was down and smack-talked him as he tried getting up. Dickinson threw a hard kick into Rosser’s chest; Rosser ate it and went back for seconds. He threw elbows from the right and left side. He finally took Dickinson down with a running shoulder tackle.

Rosser tried backdropping Dickinson onto the apron, but Dickinson blocked the move, then caught Rosser with a running, diving lariat from the apron onto the floor.

Back in the ring, Rosser slapped on the cross-face chicken wing, but Dickinson countered it with a backdrop suplex. Dickinson connected with a big axe bomber for another two.

Rosser would answer back later with a running powerslam from out of the corner, reminiscent of the late, great Davey Boy Smith’s finish. He tried locking in the chicken wing STF next, the submission hold that won him the title from “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, but he couldn’t fully clamp down on it. Dickinson was able to inch his way to the bottom rope for a break.

Rosser returned to the ring apron and dropped Dickinson back-first onto it. Dickinson fought through the pain, flipped Rosser the double bird, kicked him in the chest, then took him over the guardrail with a big lariat. The two landed in the front row on the side of the commentator’s table.

Both collected themselves after a few moments, though it was Rosser who’d be back on the attack first; he put his arms through the guardrail and grabbed Dickinson by the face and began yanking on it. Bar room brawl stuff. He landed more shots with Dickinson still against the guard, proof that the champ is willing to “go there” regardless of his opponent. Both men prevented one another from re-entering the ring, eventually causing the referee to call for a twenty count and ending the match via double count out. The crowd let out a loud “Boooo!”

The two continued going at it at ringside, enough that the ring staff had to break the two up. Rosser tried strangling Dickinson with a green video cable. Dickinson attempted to grab Rosser’s title belt. Ring security would pull them apart, but they’d go right back at it a number of times. Rosser went back into the ring to pose for the crowd, but again Dickinson went after Rosser. He even looked to have bit Rosser’s leg or boot while the two were being pulled apart.

This was great. It was short, but that’s fine because these two are clearly building to a rematch. Both Rosser and Dickinson have distinct kinds of charisma and powerful presences. They could end up being perfect rivals down the road.

Final thoughts:

This was one of the better episodes of Strong in a few weeks. Both title matches are well worth going out of your way to see this week.

Next week sees Rocky Romero vs. Shingo Takagi in the main event.

The Good Brothers believed to be returning to WWE

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) could be the latest wrestlers brought back to WWE under the Paul “Triple H” Levesque regime.

PWInsider reported on Monday that, according to multiple sources within WWE, The Good Brothers are believed to be headed back to the company. The report states that Anderson & Gallows may return to WWE Raw as soon as this month.

Dave Meltzer confirmed the story.

“Gallows, Anderson and [AJ] Styles were all spotted together yesterday in Washington, DC, likely to film something for WWE,” PWInsider wrote. Styles and The Good Brothers were formerly Bullet Club stablemates in NJPW and known as The Club together in WWE.

Styles is currently involved in a program against Finn Balor, who is someone else The Good Brothers have a history with. Balor is a member of The Judgment Day alongside Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio.

The Good Brothers were released from their WWE contracts during the company’s April 2020 roster cuts.

The Good Brothers recently finished up a run with Impact Wrestling, dropping the Impact Tag Team titles to Matt Taven & Mike Bennett at a set of television tapings this August. Impact released a video last month with Anderson & Gallows saying they had business to take care of in NJPW but could return to Impact in the future.

Anderson is currently NJPW’s NEVER Openweight Champion. He retained the title against Hiroshi Tanahashi at Burning Spirit in Kobe last month.

Anderson is scheduled to defend the NEVER Openweight title against Hikuleo at NJPW’s Battle Autumn event in Osaka on Saturday, November 5.

Sports Illustrated conducted an interview with Anderson that was published on September 23. With The Good Brothers being free agents, Anderson was asked if he and Gallows could potentially reunite with Styles or Balor in WWE.

“Just like you said, never say never,” Anderson responded. “We’ve got verbally agreed upon dates with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for an extended period of time. But there’s such a built-in story with Bullet Club, and we never got to finish the story [in WWE] with AJ Styles or even Finn. There’s been a lot of things that have happened in the business, so you can never say never. Any time we can work with brothers like AJ and Finn, we’re always going to listen to that.”

The Good Brothers keeping door open for Impact return

The Good Brothers aren’t saying goodbye to Impact Wrestling, they are just saying “see you later.”

Impact Wrestling released a video on Thursday featuring Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows stating that they are leaving the promotion for “a little while” to compete in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

“Impact Wrestling, we’ve got to tell you something. We’re leaving for a little while. New Japan Pro Wrestling is where we’re going, we got business we’ve got to take care of across the pond,” Anderson says in the video.

“We don’t say goodbye, we say ‘see you later’ and I’m happy we got to have a dream match on the way out, what we asked for for two years with the Motor City Machine Guns. So until we get back from across the pond, too sweet me,” added Gallows.

According to a report from Fightful, Anderson and Gallows’ contracts with Impact ran out after the tapings in Dallas on August 26 & 27. The Good Brothers are currently in Japan for NJPW’s Burning Spirit tour. Anderson will defend his NEVER Openweight Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi on Sunday’s show from Kobe.

The Good Brothers win Impact World Tag Team titles at Slammiversary

The Impact World Tag Team titles changed hands at tonight’s Slammiversary event.

The Good Brothers defeated The Briscoes to win the titles for a third time. Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson regained the titles after Anderson pinned Jay Briscoe following the Magic Killer.

After the match, both teams had a staredown until America’s Most Wanted’s music hit. James Storm and Chris Harris, the former six time NWA Tag Team Champions, came to the ring. Storm cut a promo praising Impact Wrestling and tag team wrestling. All three teams toasted one another as the segment ended.

The Briscoes end their run as champions after 43 days. They had defeated Violent By Design back on May 7 at Impact’s Under Siege event in Newport, Kentucky.

Other title changes that have taken place tonight include Speedball Mike Bailey winning the X Division title and the team of Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie defeating Tenille Dashwood & Madison Rayne to win the Knockouts Tag Team titles.

The Briscoes vs. The Good Brothers Tag title match set for Impact Slammiversary

The Briscoes will defend the Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Championships against The Good Brothers at Slammiversary on June 19.

Impact official Scott D’Amore made the match announcement during a backstage segment on this week’s Impact Wrestling episode.

Honor No More’s Mike Bennett approached D’Amore and asked for a Tag title match for himself and Matt Taven at Slammiversary, but D’Amore stated that The Briscoes were already set for a match against Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows at the show.

With the way the angle played out, Bennett and Taven could be added to the match down the line.

Here is the updated Slammiversary lineup:

Impact Wrestling Slammiversary, Sunday, June 19, 8 p.m. Eastern time on FITE TV and pay-per-view —

  • Impact World Championship: Josh Alexander (c) vs. Eric Young

The Good Brothers appear at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku 2022

The Good Brothers made an appearance at tonight’s NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, attacking the Guerillas of Destiny.

After Tama Tonga won the NEVER Openweight championship from EVIL on tonight’s show, the Good Brothers immediately rushed to the ring and attacked Tonga. Tanga Loa came down to the ring to aid his brother, but was taken out by the duo. Karl Anderson held the NEVER Openweight title, signaling he wanted the next title shot. He then gave the gun stun to Tonga on the championship belt.

The Good Brothers faced The Guerillas of Destiny back at Impact’s No Surrender event in February. During the match, Jay White turned on GoD, giving the bladerunner to Tonga. This allowed The Good Brothers to win the match and rejoin the Bullet Club, while Guerillas of Destiny were officially kicked out of the group.

Since being released from WWE in 2020, The Good Brothers have worked primarily for Impact Wrestling. They have also made appearances on New Japan Strong, most recently at Windy City Riot, where they teamed with Chris Bey, El Phantasmo, Hikuleo, and Scott Norton to defeat United Empire’s Aaron Henare, Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis, and TJP.

The Good Brothers’ contracts with Impact Wrestling set to expire in July

Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows’ contracts with Impact Wrestling are set to expire this summer.

According to a report from PW Insider, The Good Brothers’ deals with the promotion are up in July. They signed 2-year contracts in the summer of 2020 and debuted at the Slammiversary PPV on July 18 that year. According to a report from Fightful Select, the exact end date of their current deal is July 17, 2022.

In July of 2019, the Good Brothers re-signed with WWE. At the time, they had been with the company for three years. They were then part of roster cuts WWE made in April 2020 at the onset of the global pandemic.

Since signing with Impact Wrestling in the summer of 2020, The Good Brothers have also performed for AEW and NJPW shows in the United States. NJPW is said to be currently in the process of obtaining work visas for foreign talent to work in Japan for the first time since 2020, potentially opening the door for their return.

The Good Brothers are two-time Impact World Tag Team Champions, two-time Raw Tag Team Champions, and three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

Moxley, mystery partner vs. Good Brothers set for NJPW Resurgence

Jon Moxley and a mystery partner vs. The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) has been officially added to the August 14 NJPW Resurgence event.

After Moxley issued a challenge on social media on Friday, Gallows and Anderson accepted the challenge on Sunday in the same fashion in this tweet from the NJoA Twitter account.

Gallows and Anderson are coming off a win in the finals of NJPW Strong’s Tag Team Turbulence tournament,, while Moxley lost the IWGP United States Championship to Lance Archer in a Texas death match in his last outing on the July 21 AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest.

Moxley and partner vs. Gallows and Anderson is the fifth official match for Resurgence. Here is the full lineup to this point:

NJPW Resurgence, Saturday, August 14, 11 p.m. Eastern time on NJPW World & FITE TV —

  • Jon Moxley & a mystery partner vs. The Good Brothers
  • Fred Rosser, Rocky Romero & Wheeler Yuta vs. Clark Connors, Ren Narita & TJP
  • Karl Fredericks vs. Alex Coughlin

Jon Moxley challenges The Good Brothers to NJPW Resurgence match

Jon Moxley has challenged The Good Brothers to face him and a mystery partner at NJPW Resurgence on August 14.

Moxley made the challenge in a video released on the NJoA Twitter account.

In issuing the challenge, Moxley said that wherever his travels take him in the sport of wrestling, he will settle scores. He said whether it takes hours or years, he will eventually get you. Moxley said that he has a little bit of business with “these Bullet Club-type guys” and laid out the challenge for August 14.

Moxley said that he was planning to meet a buddy for beers in Los Angeles that night and decided to make it a two-for-one. He challenged Gallows and Anderson to meet him at Resurgence and promised them a surprise.

While Moxley’s partner is uncertain, we know for sure that it will not be fellow Death Rider Shota Umino. Umino was pulled from the Resurgence event due to travel restrictions between the United Kingdom and the United States.

Here is the card for Resurgence so far:

NJPW Resurgence, Saturday, August 14, 11 p.m. Eastern time on NJPW World & FITE TV —
