AEW’s Powerhouse Hobbs on injury: ‘Only choice is to come back better’

Powerhouse Hobbs has commented on his injury.

On Sunday, Hobbs posted a message on X expressing frustration over his leg injury, which took place on Dynamite last month. However, he promised that when he comes back, he would bring hell.

He wrote:

Not sure what to say. Injuries happen and we deal with them. We recalibrate, we rebuild, we reinvent. The real test is the comeback. I’ve been told I’ll come back like nothing ever happened.

So, why do I feel so angry right now? Why do I feel so disappointed? It’s because that’s all bullshit. Nobody comes back the same after any injury. The only choice is to come back better.

As I sit here on this Island of Darkness, I have thousands of questions running through my mind nonstop. The doctors tell me not to worry. Just HEAL and RECOVER. They have no idea that this is nothing compared to the hell I’ve been through. Just rest assured when I come back that I’m bringing Hell with me.

Hobbs sustained an injury to his leg during the closing moments of an IWGP World Championship match against Jon Moxley. He went for a charge in the corner that Moxley dodged, injuring his leg on impact. The match soon ended with Moxley retaining the title.

PAC returning in Elite trios match at AEW Dynamite Big Business

PAC will return to in-ring action at Big Business.

On Saturday’s Collision, PAC made his return by making the save for Penta El Zero Miedo and Eddie Kingston, helping them against the likes of The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada. PAC then challenged the newest incarnation of The Elite to a trios match at Big Business this coming Wednesday.

A video hyping PAC’s return aired during the AEW Revolution Zero Hour pre-show last Sunday. He had been out of action for months, last appearing on AEW television back in July.

The Young Bucks shocked the world this past Wednesday on Dynamite when they announced that Hangman Page had been suspended without pay and Kenny Omega had been fired from The Elite. They then introduced the newest member of the group, Okada, who attacked Eddie Kingston and shook hands with Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, cementing his new heel role in AEW.

A tag team match with Chris Jericho & Hook taking on the Gates of Agony was also announced for Big Business. Hook made the save for Jericho on Collision after the two members of the Mogul Embassy jumped Jericho following his match with Titan.

The updated Big Business lineup:

  • Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut is expected
  • AEW World Champion Samoa Joe defends against Wardlow
  • Darby Allin vs. Jay White
  • The Elite (The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada) vs. Eddie Kingston, PAC, and Penta El Zero Miedo
  • Hook & Chris Jericho vs. The Gates of Agony
  • Willow Nightingale vs. Riho

ROH announces Final Battle date & location

ROH’s next pay-per-view is Final Battle.

ROH announced on Wednesday that this year’s Final Battle event will take place at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. Tickets will go on sale for the event on October 27 at 10 am CT.

Featured on the poster are the current ROH champions: World Champion Eddie Kingston, Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata, Women’s Champion Athena, one half of the Tag Team Champions MJF, and Six-Man Champions The Young Bucks & Hangman Page.

Last year’s Final Battle was held at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. That show was headlined by Claudio Castagnoli defeating Chris Jericho to win the ROH World Championship for a second time. Castagnoli held the title through September 20 of this year, when Kingston defeated him to win the title at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.

ROH has held a Final Battle event every year since its inception in 2002, with the first main event being headlined by Bryan Danielson taking on Low Ki, Samoa Joe, and Steve Corino in a four-way match.
