Ronda Rousey says AEW appearance was a ‘little bit of a f*** you’ to TKO

Ronda Rousey’s AEW debut at Revolution was more than just supporting her friend Marina Shafir in her first pay-per-view match.

In a new YouTube vlog, Rousey gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her preparation for Revolution and expressed pride in how Shafir has successfully transitioned from MMA to pro wrestling.

“Marina is my best friend in the whole wide world and we grew up doing judo together as little kids. We both quit judo and started doing MMA and then we both quit MMA and started doing pro wrestling,” Rousey said. “She’s absolutely crushing it and I’m so proud of her. I’m so happy that everybody’s finally starting to take notice of how incredibly special she is.”

Rousey also detailed how AEW kept her presence backstage a secret before she showed up at the PPV.

“I was brought into the arena in a very unique — I thought this was going to be much more chill like whatever kind of day, but they’re acting like it’s freaking Royal Rumble super secret whatever,” she said. “But they had me jump into a wheelchair and throw a tarp over me and wheel me in here.”

Rousey compared the AEW experience to WWE and said her being at Revolution was a “little bit of a f*ck you” to WWE’s parent company TKO Group. The UFC is also under TKO’s umbrella, and Rousey had been in negotiations to make her MMA return with UFC before those talks fell apart. She is instead partnering with MVP Promotions and Netflix for her upcoming bout against Gina Carano.

“I mean, it’s a little bit weird, but also familiar, but also it’s like AEW, so it’s nice. It’s a little bit more laidback. But actually, this is my first, I think, full-on AEW show because I only did Ring of Honor before,” Rousey said. “Like, I think I’ve been at the shows, but never really performing them. And Ring of Honor was kind of like a pre-taped, that was a smaller crowd. So, I’ve never been to an AEW pay-per-view, so I don’t really know what to expect so much, but I’m thinking a less restrictive, more adult version of WWE, which sounds like a good time.

“Those are all very good descriptions, I felt. So, yeah. And it’s kind of a cool little bit of a, like little bit of a ‘f*ck you’ to the TKO group, which is kind of funny because WWE is on Netflix, but I kind of figured it’d be easier to ask for forgiveness instead of permission on this one. Like, I’m promoting your show. It’s fine. We didn’t advertise it. It’s not like we boosted the ratings of it, so it should be fine.”

Rousey made her WWE in-ring debut in 2018 and had two separate stints with the company lasting through 2023. Following her exit, Rousey has openly criticized WWE and TKO.

In her first MMA fight in nearly a decade, Rousey will face Carano live on Netflix on May 16. Her AEW appearance is not expected to lead to anything more at least in the short term, with there being no further plans for Rousey at the moment.

Wardlow in attendance at AEW Revolution

Former TNT Champion Wardlow was in attendance for this month’s AEW Revolution, but in a backstage capacity.

According to Fightful Select, Wardlow was there just to visit with no plans yet on his in-ring return any time soon.

He has been out of action since his brief return last August when he shockingly attacked Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana at Forbidden Door to pledge allegiance to the Don Callis Family. In that angle, he suffered a torn pectoral muscle forcing him out of action again.

That was following him recuperating from a knee injury during which time he was filming for the American Gladiators reboot series hosted by WWE’s The Miz that debuts in April. That knee injury kept him out of action for a year.

He made his AEW debut in 2019 as MJF’s bodyguard. In 2022, that alliance ended when Wardlow refused to hand over the Dynamite Diamond Ring which saw him break away from The Pinnacle and establish himself as a singles competitor.  In July that year, he won the TNT Championship, a title held for nearly 140 days.

Will Ospreay reveals when he was cleared for AEW return

Before returning at AEW Revolution, Will Ospreay had already been medically cleared for a couple of weeks.

Ospreay made his surprise return at Sunday night’s pay-per-view in Los Angeles, targeting Jon Moxley after Ospreay had been written off AEW programming last year in a Death Riders attack. Ospreay last wrestled in August 2025 before undergoing surgery for a neck injury. He is now ready to compete again.

In a tweet today, Ospreay shared that doctors gave him the okay to return on February 25. That’s a few weeks after AEW started building the hype for Ospreay’s return with a video on the February 4 edition of Dynamite.

The Revolution card included a Continental Championship match where Moxley choked out Konosuke Takeshita to retain. Following the match, Moxley extended a handshake to Takeshita in a show of respect. Takeshita was initially hesitant but did end up shaking Moxley’s hand.

As Moxley was then leaving, Ospreay emerged for his comeback. He fought off the Death Riders before Moxley escaped.

Ospreay’s return coincides with the ticket pre-sale for All In 2026 beginning today. He figures to play a big part in the show in his home country of the United Kingdom. The PPV is being held at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, August 30.

During his time away from the ring, Ospreay stayed involved in wrestling through his role as a producer for the U.K. women’s indie promotion Pro Wrestling Eve.

Tony Khan addresses Ronda Rousey-AEW relationship

Tony Khan had high praise for Ronda Rousey after her AEW Revolution appearance and addressed the possibility of her signing with the promotion.

Sunday night’s pay-per-view saw Rousey make a surprise arrival after Marina Shafir lost to “Timeless” Toni Storm. When asked about how the appearance came about at the post-show press conference, Khan cited Rousey’s friend Shafir as being key to making it happen.

“Well, Ronda is a really good friend of Marina Shafir, and Marina brought her in as backup,” Khan said. “Everyone was banned from ringside, so that match was a great wrestling match. I thought Toni and Marina Shafir was a great wrestling match. [Shafir and Storm are] going to have a no holds barred fight on Wednesday night, and I’m looking forward to that.”

While further addressing Rousey’s AEW status, Khan expressed that she’s welcome any time she wants, referencing the one match she worked for ROH in 2023.

“Ronda’s actually wrestled for me before, but never in AEW. Ronda wrestled in ROH,” Khan noted. “We had a great match a few years ago, also here in Los Angeles, it was Ronda and Marina teaming up in ROH against Billie Starkz and the World Champion Athena. I thought it was fantastic. I love that match.

“And when Marina said Ronda was going to be her backup, it was like, ‘Okay, well, everyone’s banned from ringside.’ But once the match was over, Ronda did get involved, she made her presence known, and then Marina really took advantage of the situation, landed a sucker punch on Toni Storm while everybody was very mesmerized that Ronda Rousey was in the house.

“Ronda Rousey is a huge star. So, we have a great relationship with her. She’s wrestled for me before in ROH and she’s always welcome here in AEW anytime.”

At the PPV, Storm defeated Shafir before Rousey showed up to assist her ally. She called out Storm, which led to referees having to break up a confrontation between the two. Shafir then sucker-punched Storm while she was distracted.

“Getting a front row seat to watching this woman shine as her most authentic self brought me so much joy – I’m sorry I couldn’t keep it together better and resist grinning ear to ear all night but I couldn’t be more proud watching @marinashafir’s growth and determination on full display,” Rousey posted on Instagram.

“Thank you @aew and @tonyrkhan for letting me steal the best seat in the house.”

Rousey made her pro wrestling in-ring debut for WWE in 2018 and had two separate runs before wrapping up with the promotion in 2023. This May, she returns to her MMA roots in a highly anticipated clash against Gina Carano that will stream live on Netflix from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

MJF wins at AEW Revolution, Hangman Page unable to challenge for World title ever again

Hangman Page will never be able to challenge for the AEW World title again after losing to reigning champion MJF at Sunday’s AEW Revolution

On his birthday, MJF defeated Page in a Texas Death Match in the night’s main event, a bloody fight that featured barbed wire, a staple gun, paper cuts, a broken pane of glass, light tubes, skewers, and a broken broom handle among other items. One of those was a hypodermic needle that was stuck through Page’s cheek in a callback to his Texas Death Match with Swerve Strickland.

Page nearly had MJF beat after driving skewers into his head followed by a buckshot lariat. Page then brought out a double dog collar in a callback to MJF’s violent match with CM Punk several years ago. He then dragged MJF to the apron and brought out a barbed wire board on top of another table as the fans chanted for fire. The two battled and MJF pulled Page off for a flip through the board/table.

MJF continued to whip Page with the collar chain, going up to the stage. Page countered, grabbing MJF and jumping into a table of electrical equipment that exploded. Both men eventually beat the ten count and Page dog walked him back to the ring. MJF kicked him low off a buckshot attempt and grabbed his title belt, hitting him in the head and barely beating the ten count. Page hit him with the belt and went for another buckshot, but MJF countered and choked Page out over the top rope to end the match.

Page was put on a stretcher, but MJF jumped up on the stretcher and stood over his opponent to end the pay-per-view.

Because of the stipulation Page offered in order to get the title shot, he and Cody Rhodes are now the only two men in company history to be ineligible to ever challenge for the World title again due to that stipulation.

It’s MJF’s first win over Page in four tries.

MJF wore the crimson mask first and was dragged through the broken glass, followed by a string of barbed wire in his mouth as Page pulled it back and forth from behind as if he were a horse. Page was later cut open after MJF stabbed him with a piece of the glass, followed by him dragging Page through the glass.

MJF’s second World title reign continues with the sixth successful defense of the gold he won at last December’s Worlds End. He came out for his first-ever Texas Death Match clad in tights and trunks and Western garb in honor of Terry Funk. Page is now 5-2 in his speciality match with his only other loss coming to Strickland at November 2023’s Full Gear.

Page held the title twice in his career, the first time from November 2021’s Full Gear when he defeated Kenny Omega through May 2022’s Double or Nothing when he notably lost to CM Punk. His second run came from July 2025’s All In Texas through November’s Full Gear.

People in WWE ‘shocked’ to see Ronda Rousey at AEW Revolution

Ronda Rousey shocked the world when she recently appeared on AEW Revolution and confronted Toni Storm.

Shortly after the match, our Bryan Alvarez reported that although only a few people in Rousey’s former promotion, WWE, knew about her PPV appearance, most within WWE were “shocked” to see Rousey show up at AEW Revolution.

Rousey appeared following Storm’s victory over Marina Shafir. The two women proceeded to have a confrontation in the ring before security swarmed in. Rousey, who was heavily booed, left the ring with Shafir through the crowd.

Rousey is also set to make her MMA return in May 2026 against Gina Carano under Jake Paul’s MVP, which will be aired on Netflix. Rousey left WWE in 2023 and wrestled a few times on the indies and ROH, where she teamed up with Shafir. Her last match dates back to November 2023.

Britt Baker says ‘not up to me’ as to AEW Revolution absence

Britt Baker has responded to a question about her absence from AEW Revolution.

Missing from AEW programming since November 2024, fans have yet to catch a glimpse of Baker on their screens. In a night full of returns at Revolution 2026, fans saw the comebacks of Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, and even the debut of Ronda Rousey. However, while they kept waiting for Baker to show up, it did not happen.

Our Bryan Alvarez also noted that despite all the returns after singles matches on Revolution, Baker did not appear to be at the show.

Alvarez’s statements soon coincided with Baker’s social media update. As AEW Revolution continued, Baker responded to a social media post talking about all the Revolution returns except hers. Breaking her silence, Baker wrote, “Not up to me.”

Around a month ago, AEW President Tony Khan opened up on Baker’s status; however, despite speaking highly of her, Khan refrained from sharing a confirmed return timeline.
