Injured Willow Nightingale relinquishes AEW TBS title & Owen Hart Tournament spot

Willow Nightingale has relinquished her AEW TBS Championship.

On Wednesday, during the May 21, 2026, episode of AEW Dynamite, in a backstage segment, Nightingale announced that she was relinquishing her TBS Championship as well as her spot in the Owen Hart Tournament.

Nightingale announced that she injured her shoulder last week on AEW Collision. She further withdrew from the upcoming tournament and relinquished her title. On May 16, 2026, Nightingale faced and defeated Red Velvet on Collision; however, she injured herself in the process.

Nightingale had previously defeated Mercedes Mone on December 31, 2026, to win the TBS Championship. Holding the title for 140 days, she relinquished on May 20, 2026. As of now, nothing more has been announced regarding the future of the TBS Championship.

Nightingale was previously scheduled to face Alex Windsor in the Owen Hart Tournament at AEW Double or Nothing; however, that spot will now be replaced by a wild card entrant. Interestingly, Athena vs. Mina Shirakawa will now replace the Windsor-Nightingale match at the PPV.

Darby Allin, Willow Nightingale title matches added to AEW Collision

Big AEW Collision news on ROH: Supercard of Honor tonight. A pair of championship matches for tomorrow’s TV show were announced during tonight’s premium event.

First, because Darby Allin hasn’t been defending the AEW World Championship frequently enough lately, another challenger has stepped up. Sammy Guevara, one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside The Beast Mortos, noted that he has won many singles championships. He also said he has beaten Allin four times in the past, and challenged him for Collision.

Allin and Guevara have met several times in AEW, in singles, tag team, and other matches. Their most recent one-on-one encounter was the Four Pillars tournament final in April of 2023, when Guevara won by disqualification.

Later in Supercard of Honor, ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet complained about not being in the Owen Hart Cup brackets. She then challenged Willow Nightingale for her TBS Championship, also for Collision.

Velvet and Nightingale have met just once before, with Velvet coming out on top in an Owen Hart qualifier in 2022.

Sareee to make AEW debut in women’s Owen Hart tournament, full bracket revealed

The full bracket has been revealed for the women’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation tournament which will feature the promotional debuts of Japanese standouts Sareee and Hazuki.

Sareee will take on Skye Blue in a quarterfinal on the right side of the eight woman bracket with the winner moving on to face reigning Ring of Honor Women’s Champion Athena vs. Mina Shirakawa. It will be the first AEW match for Athena since last December. She competed in last year’s tournament, falling to Mercedes Mone in a semifinal.

On the left side, CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone will return to action after getting injured in a late-April Collision bout that saw her pulled from this Friday’s ROH Supercard of Honor. She will take on the debuting Hazuki of Stardom who will be making her promotional debut in a first time ever match.

The winner takes on the winner of TBS Champion Willow Nightingale vs. Alex Windsor which was announced for next weekend’s Double or Nothing in another first time matchup. Of the four announced matches, it’s the only one with a set date.

The finals take place at June’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view from San Jose, California, with the tournament winner presumed to challenge for the title at August’s All In.

Anna Jay’s return, three title matches part of AEW Collision lineup

After being out since last November, Anna Jay is making her return to AEW this Saturday and already has a title match set.

Jay will challenge reigning TNT Champion Willow Nightingale in Peoria, Illinois, as Nightingale continues to welcome back those who had been off TV for quite some time (Hikaru Shida, Kamille, Queen Aminata).

The two have shared the ring ten times in AEW with their last singles bout coming in November 2022. It’s unclear if Jay has signed a new deal with AEW as previous reporting had her deal up in the spring.

Jack Perry will defend the AEW National title against Mascara Dorada for the first time ever.

After defending against MJF on Wednesday’s Dynamite, Kevin Knight will put the title on the line against Hook in another first time ever match.

In a ten-man tag, The Death Riders’ Jon Moxley, PAC and Claudio Castagnoli will team up once again with The Dogs’ David Finlay and Clark Connors against The Rascalz and Top Flight.

Willow Nightingale reveals praising from fellow AEW star Adam Copeland

Willow Nightingale opened up about high points in her career, naming her experience working with Adam Copeland as one of them.

Nightingale reflected on the proudest moment of her wrestling career in AEW during an interaction with Dani of Black Girl Wrestling. She named an instance with Bryan Danielson backstage after a match where she was upset about underperforming but he applauded her work.

“I think I’ve been thinking recently about interactions I’ve had backstage with people I really admire. And how much that means to me. I recently remembered a match that I actually hate watching back. It’s a match that one of my biggest, I don’t I guess regret one of my biggest like in ring regrets after after that match Bryan Danielson actually comforted me and was like ‘hey, you know what I was actually going to say when you were giving us fire in that match and you were all amped up. I wanted more of that.’ He’s like ‘I wasn’t even going to critique the stuff you did. I was just going to..’ and I was crying and I was like, ‘Really? Thank you.’”

Nightingale added that working with Adam Copeland was a notable point in her AEW career. And he told her that she was the best babyface on the promotion.

“Working with Cope, with Adam Copeland, that is something that has meant so much to me, and he’s said things to me, like, ‘I think you’re the best, biggest babyface that we have,’ and for him to see something like that in me, it moves me a lot.”

Nightingale and Copeland teamed up in April 2024 for a mixed tag team match against Brody King and Julia Hart. Last year she also assisted him in his feud with FTR.

A couple of weeks ago, Nightingale issued an open challenge for the TBS Championship on Collision. This past weekend, she was attacked by Kamille who made her AEW return after nearly 530 days.

World, TNT & TBS title matches announced for AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru

Just moments after AEW Dynasty, three new title matches have been announced for AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru.

Earlier in the night, after Kamille made her long-awaited return to AEW and attacked TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, she was announced for a title match. On the upcoming April 15 edition of AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru, Kamille will now face Nightingale for the TBS title.

Also during the PPV, Darby Allin defeated Andrade El Idolo to earn a future AEW World title shot. In the main event, after MJF successfully defended his World title against Kenny Omega, he was announced for an upcoming World title match against Allin. The match was announced after he called his shot, saying he wanted the match on Wednesday, April 15, in Everett, Washington.

Also, brand new TNT Champion Kevin Knight will also be in action defending his TNT title against Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli on AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru.

On April 16, AEW is also set to host Collision Spring BreakThru; however, no matches have been confirmed for that show.

Kamille returns to AEW, attacks Willow Nightingale

Kamille has returned to AEW.

As Willow Nightingale was being interviewed backstage during AEW Dynasty Zero Hour on Sunday, the TBS Champion was suddenly attacked from behind. It was eventually revealed to be Kamille, who declared she was back. After Kamille won a squash match Nightingale emerged from the back, her shoulder bandaged but still looking for revenge. She didn’t get it as Kamille jumped Nightingale as she was enterting through the ropes, eventually laying her out with a pump kick.

AEW noted that Kamille had made her return to the promotion after a 529-day hiatus. She was last seen in the fall of 2024 after being laid out backstage, recently splitting from Mercedes Mone. Months later, Tony Khan wouldn’t elaborate on Kamille’s status but did hint at her possible return.

During her hiatus, Kamille did promotional work for the film Queen of the Ring, where she played June Byers. She was also announced as joining the cast of the American Gladiators reboot for Amazon Prime, taking part with other wrestlers such as Wardlow, the former Rick Boogz, Jessie Godderz, and J-Rod from OVW.

AEW Collision notes: Next week’s show moved, Babes of Wrath

Notes from AEW Collision.

During Saturday’s show in Cedar Rapids, Iowa it was noted that next week’s Collision would air on a different day this coming week: Thursday at 8 pm ET, as NCAA basketball coverage is scheduled to take place during its normal timeslot. A replay of Thursday’s show, however, is scheduled to air on TNT at 11:30 ET that night.

In the opening match, the Babes of Wrath failed to win back the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles, losing to Divine Dominion after Harley Cameron took a double chokeslam. Later backstage, Cameron apologized for letting everyone down while Nightingale rejected the idea, choosing instead to reflect on all of their big moments as a team. When Cameron asked what they do now, Nightingale suggested focusing on other things. Cameron pushed Nightingale to focus on the TBS Championship and told her tag team partner she’d always be in her corner.

The two were the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Champions, having won them in a tournament final back in December. Although Nightingale successfully defended the TBS title against Lena Kross during Revolution’s Zero Hour pre-show, the Babes of Wrath lost the titles to Kross and Megan Bayne during the main card.

AEW Revolution will take place the following day at the Crypto.com Arena. Nightingale will be wrestling twice that night, first a TBS title defense against Lena Kross that will be held on the pre-show. Later on the main card, she will then defend the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles when she and Harley Cameron defend against Megan Bayne & Kross.

The top match on the show will have MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Hangman Page. If Page is unsuccessful, he will never challenge for the AEW Championship again.

Willow Nightingale, Lena Kross to wrestle twice as part of updated AEW Revolution lineup

Both double champion Willow Nightingale and Lena Kross will do double duty as part of this Sunday’s AEW Revolution.

Announced during Wednesday’s Dynamite, Nightingale will defend her TBS title against Lena Kross on the pay-per-view Zero Hour pre-show. Then on the main card, Nightingale and Harley Cameron will defend their AEW Women’s Tag Team titles against Kross and Megan Bayne.

Nightingale was successful in defending her TBS title against Persephone during Dynamite and was jubilant afterward in calling for action at Revolution.

In another new addition, The Dogs will face Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin and the returning Roderick Strong on the main card. Strong made his surprise return Wednesday in aiding Cassidy and Allin after Clark Connors got involved in their match with Gabe Kidd and David Finlay. Strong teased joining The Dogs before helping even the odds.

The other development was Tommaso Ciampa being revealed as part of the Blackjack battle royal for Ricochet’s AEW National Championship on the pre-show. It appears that Big Boom AJ will be part of that match as well as he previously said he’ll compete on the show.

Dem Bucks vs. FTR & Tommaso Ciampa part of updated AEW Dynamite lineup

This Wednesday’s Revolution go-home edition of AEW Dynamite will see the Young Bucks team up with Mark Briscoe for the first time since 2010.

The unorthodox trio will battle FTR and Tommaso Ciampa after Ciampa turned heel on Briscoe during Saturday’s AEW Collision. The Bucks will challenge FTR for the AEW World Tag Team titles at next Sunday’s Revolution.

The Bucks and Briscoes feuded for years with the two sides aligning just once in their careers back at ROH SoCal Showdown in January 2010.

Announced late Saturday night was a new tag team match that will pair Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli against Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero. Moxley will defend his Continental title against Takeshita at Revolution, but this match was born out of Saturday’s Collision main event that saw Takeshita defeat Castagnoli with a brawl breaking out among all four men afterward.
