Megan Bayne & Lena Kross win Women’s Tag Team titles at AEW Revolution

The Divine Dominion are the new AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale lost the titles to Megan Bayne and Lena Kross Saturday at Revolution. The two had an advantage after Nightingale was attacked earlier in the night by Bayne, injuring her shoulder. The two took advantage of that during the match and once they were able to isolate Nightingale, pinned her with a double chokeslam to become the new champions.

Earlier in the night, Nightingale successfully defended the TBS title against Kross. However Bayne jumped Nightingale after the match and although Cameron came in for the save, the damage had been done. Despite the injury, the two agreed to move forward in a pre-match interview.

The Babes of Wrath were the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Champions, defeating the Timeless Love Bombs (Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa) in a tournament final at Dynamite Winter is Coming 2025. Nightingale had been a double champion ever since defeating Mercedes Mone for the TBS title on the final Dynamite of last year.

Two new matches part of updated AEW Dynamite lineup

AEW and Tony Khan have now officially announced the addition of a women’s tag team title match and a Mile High Madness match to the upcoming edition of Dynamite.

On Tuesday, February 24, Tony Khan announced on social media that the Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) will defend their women’s tag team titles against MegaBad (Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford) after weeks of feuding against each other. Bayne and Ford will also be accompanied to the ring by their new manager, Lena Kross.

In addition to the title bout, Khan also announced a Mile High Madness Anything Goes match where Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, and Ricochet will take on Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Jack Perry.

AEW Women’s Tag title tournament semifinals set

The semifinals are now set in the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The teams of Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, and Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne punched their tickets to the semifinals with victories in their quarterfinal matchups on Wednesday’s three-hour AEW Dynamite and Collision special.

Storm and Shirakawa advanced with a victory over Alex Windsor and Riho on Wednesday, while Shafir and Bayne moved on with a win over Tay Melo and Anna Jay.

The semifinals matches are now locked in with Timeless Love Bombs (Storm and Shirakawa) facing Bayne and Shafir, plus Babes of Wrath (Nightingale and Cameron) facing Sisters of Sin (Blue and Hart).

The four semifinalist teams will now square off in a four-way tag team bout at Saturday’s Full Gear pay-per-view, with the winning team deciding a stipulation for their semifinals match.

The updated card for Full Gear is here.

First team advances in AEW Women’s Tag Team title tournament, next match set

In somewhat of an upset, The Sisters of Sin advanced in the first round of the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team title tournament.

Julia Hart & Skye Blue picked up the win over rivals Jamie Hayter & Queen Aminata during Wednesday’s Fright Night edition of AEW Dynamite. The win was aided by Thekla attacking Hayter outside the ring, leading to the pinfall on Aminata by Blue inside the ring.

It’s the first traditional tag team win for Blue and Hart since March 2024. They will face the winners of Mercedes Mone & Athena vs. Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron.

Later on, it was confirmed the Mone/Athena vs. Nightingale/Cameron bout will take place on next Wednesday’s Dynamite. That was made official Wednesday after Nightingale and Cameron made the save for AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander as Mone and Athena were beating her down in the ring.

In another development, Marina Shafir will join Megan Bayne in the tournament as Penelope Ford had to withdraw due to a UCL injury in her right arm.

Hayter and Aminata were victorious on Wednesday’s Dynamite in a four-way tag team match to earn the opportunity to call out their opponents in the first round, challenging Hart and Blue (even though none of the teams had been announced for the tournament yet.)

After taking a few months off, Athena returned Wednesday to console Mone and suggest they team up in the tournament after she was smashed into a cake and put through a table by AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander.

While the tournament starts next week on the Fright Night edition of Dynamite, no other details were given as to when the finals will be. However, next month’s Full Gear pay-per-view seems like a strong possibility.
