World, TNT & TBS title matches announced for AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru

Just moments after AEW Dynasty, three new title matches have been announced for AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru.

Earlier in the night, after Kamille made her long-awaited return to AEW and attacked TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, she was announced for a title match. On the upcoming April 15 edition of AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru, Kamille will now face Nightingale for the TBS title.

Also during the PPV, Darby Allin defeated Andrade El Idolo to earn a future AEW World title shot. In the main event, after MJF successfully defended his World title against Kenny Omega, he was announced for an upcoming World title match against Allin. The match was announced after he called his shot, saying he wanted the match on Wednesday, April 15, in Everett, Washington.

Also, brand new TNT Champion Kevin Knight will also be in action defending his TNT title against Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli on AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru.

On April 16, AEW is also set to host Collision Spring BreakThru; however, no matches have been confirmed for that show.

AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru updated lineup

  • Kevin Knight vs. Claudio Castagnoli for the TNT Championship
  • Kamille vs. Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship
  • MJF vs. Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship

Kamille returns to AEW, attacks Willow Nightingale

Kamille has returned to AEW.

As Willow Nightingale was being interviewed backstage during AEW Dynasty Zero Hour on Sunday, the TBS Champion was suddenly attacked from behind. It was eventually revealed to be Kamille, who declared she was back. After Kamille won a squash match Nightingale emerged from the back, her shoulder bandaged but still looking for revenge. She didn’t get it as Kamille jumped Nightingale as she was enterting through the ropes, eventually laying her out with a pump kick.

AEW noted that Kamille had made her return to the promotion after a 529-day hiatus. She was last seen in the fall of 2024 after being laid out backstage, recently splitting from Mercedes Mone. Months later, Tony Khan wouldn’t elaborate on Kamille’s status but did hint at her possible return.

During her hiatus, Kamille did promotional work for the film Queen of the Ring, where she played June Byers. She was also announced as joining the cast of the American Gladiators reboot for Amazon Prime, taking part with other wrestlers such as Wardlow, the former Rick Boogz, Jessie Godderz, and J-Rod from OVW.

Wardlow’s name on American Gladiators revealed

It has been two full years now since Wardlow wrestled a match in AEW, but fans will soon be seeing him elsewhere under a different name.

It was announced last summer that Wardlow would be competing on the new edition of American Gladiators. Now Wardlow has shared a video showing each of the Gladiators’ identities, including his own: Fang.

“Wardlow is officially FANG!” he wrote. “One of the new American Gladiators which debuts April 17th on Amazon Prime Video.”

“Very excited for this,” he added. “I grew up watching this show so little me is very proud to say, I am an American Gladiator! Pretty wild. Hope y’all are ready!”

Wardlow is not the only wrestling personality who will be appearing on the new Gladiators show:

  • Jessica “J-Rod” Roden, former OVW Women’s Champion, will be competing as Supernova.
  • Kailey “Kamille” Latimer, former NWA World Women’s Champion who has also appeared for AEW, will be competing as Hurricane.
  • Eric “Rick Boogs” Bugenhagen, a two-time former WWE 24/7 champion who is perhaps best known as Shinsuke Nakamura’s personal guitarist, will be competing as The Bull.
  • Jessie “Mr. Pectacular” Godderz, former two-time TNA World Tag Team champion and a regular name in the Big Brother franchise, will be competing as Steel.
  • Mike Mizanin, a two-time WWE champion, will be hosting as (presumably) The Miz.

Wardlow was once one of AEW’s most heavily pushed stars, going on long undefeated streaks and winning the TNT championship three times. His last match, however, was in March of 2024, an unsuccessful challenge of Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship. In August of 2025, Wardlow joined the Don Callis Family at AEW’s Forbidden Door. He reportedly tore his pec in that segment and has not been seen in AEW since.

Amazon reveals premiere date for Miz-hosted ‘American Gladiators’ series

Amazon’s “American Gladiators” revival hosted by WWE star The Miz is set to premiere next month.

The show will arrive on Amazon Prime Video with three episodes premiering on Friday, April 17. Three more episodes will then debut on April 24, with the season closing out with four episodes on May 1. Along with Miz hosting the series, several wrestling names are part of the Gladiator cast, including AEW’s Wardlow, Kamille, former WWE wrestler Rick Boogs, Jessie Godderz, and J-Rod (Jessica Roden).

“American Gladiators” first debuted in the late 1980s and lasted for several seasons. The concept was later briefly revived in 2008.

In a press release, Amazon noted that this new series will feature both classic and new Gladiator events:

The iconic competition returns with each episode featuring weekend warriors from across the nation stepping into the Arena to face 16 powerful new Gladiators. From classic events like Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough, and The Wall, to high-impact new challenges including The Ring and Collision, every showdown demands pure grit, strategy, and heart. Only one man and one woman will conquer the Arena, claim $100,000, and earn the title of American Gladiator Champion.

Television host Rocsi Diaz is co-hosting the series with Miz. The show is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

Wardlow, Rick Boogs & Kamille among five wrestlers set for ‘American Gladiators’ reboot

Two AEW wrestlers that fell off the radar and a former WWE competitor were among five pro wrestlers announced for the American Gladiators reboot on Amazon Prime.

First broken by the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, AEW’s Wardlow and Kamille, former WWE wrestler Rick Boogs, and Jessie Godderz and J-Rod of OVW will be part of the 16-person Gladiators crew that will soon have unique names like the original cast.

WWE’s The Miz was already announced as the host last month. Revealed Thursday, sports personality Chris Rose will be the lead play-by-play man with former BET 106 & Park co-host Rocsi Diaz as sideline reporter.

When the reboot begins filming and its anticipated release date are unknown.

The 37-year-old Wardlow hasn’t wrestled since a March 2024 challenge of then-AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. It was previously reported he was dealing with a knee injury and he also pulled out of an indie match set for this past April.

Kamille disappeared from AEW after her on-screen union with Mercedes Mone ended. Her last match came at last October’s Fright Night Dynamite, and both she and Tony Khan have been mum on her absence after just six matches in the promotion since last July.

Boogs was released by WWE in September 2023 and hasn’t wrestled since while Godderz and J-Rod are OVW regulars with J-Rod also frequently working indies. Godderz is also a two-time veteran of the Big Brother reality show.

WWE was previously set to partner with MGM on an American Gladiators reboot in 2021, but the project never came to be.

Kamille has no comment on AEW status amid absence from TV

While doing press to promote “Queen of the Ring,” Kamille had no comment when asked about her AEW status.

Kamille plays wrestling legend June Byers in the Mildred Burke biopic, which is being released in theaters this Friday. She and co-star Damaris Lewis were interviewed by WrestleZone during the press tour, and Kamille was asked if there’s an update on when we’ll see her back on AEW television. Kamille did not answer the question on her own — with Lewis jokingly answering as a PR representative instead.

“My client has chosen not to comment on the matter at hand, but we are open for more questions,” Lewis responded.

A former top star in the NWA women’s division, Kamille signed with AEW in 2024 and arrived in the promotion last summer as a bodyguard for Mercedes Mone. Their partnership broke up in November, but a match between the two has not taken place. It’s not known when or if Kamille will be back on AEW TV. She’s only had six matches for the promotion since being signed.

Kamille was in New York City on Tuesday night for a screening of “Queen of the Ring.” Naomi, Jimmy Uso, Trish Stratus, Lita, Madusa, Jazz, Daria Berenato (Sonya Deville), Athena, Skye Blue, Deonna Purrazzo, Julia Hart, Queen Aminata, and Prince Nana were among the others who attended the screening.

“Queen of the Ring” director Ash Avildsen made an appearance on AEW Dynamite last night to promote the movie. He was in a backstage segment with Toni Storm, who plays Clara Mortensen.

WrestleZone’s interview with Kamille and Lewis can be watched below:

VIDEO: Trailer released for Mildred Burke biopic ‘Queen of the Ring’

A new trailer for “Queen of the Ring,” Mildred Burke’s biopic, has been released.
AEW wrestlers Toni Storm and Kamille both have roles in the film. Storm plays Clara Mortensen, a popular wrestler in the 30s and 40s who feuded with Burke over the Women’s World title. Kamille plays WWE Hall of Famer June Byers, who missed a WON Hall of Fame induction this year by less than 10 percent.
A new teaser for the film featuring Emily Bett Rickards as Mildred Burke is available below:

The film debuted at the Newport Beach Film Festival on October 19 and will be released in theaters across the United States on March 7, 2025. It is based on Jeff Leen’s book The Queen of the Ring: Sex, Muscles, Diamonds, and the Making of an American Legend.

Ash Avildsen directed the project.

“Storytelling has always been my greatest passion, and ‘Queen of the Ring’ represents a culmination of my journey both personally and professionally,” Avildsen said of the film. “At the age of 34, I finally met my father, acclaimed director John G. Avildsen, known for iconic films such as ‘Rocky’ and ‘The Karate Kid.’ Building a beautiful bond with my father as an adult was life-changing, deeply influencing my approach to storytelling and imbuing my work with a profound sense of purpose and authenticity. Growing up without a father defined me in my youth, but becoming best friends with him later in life has been transformative.”

Earlier this year, Storm spoke to Jim Varsallone about her experience working on the film.

“It was such a pleasure, it really was. It meant a lot to me because it was about Mildred Burke, who was a pioneer of the business that I’m involved in—the business that I love so much. It’s such an honor; I can’t believe this is happening.”

“I’ve never experienced anything like this, to be honest, so I’m a little overwhelmed. I’m going to be honest. It’s a beautiful story. Not a lot of people are aware of how women’s wrestling came to be and the real story behind it. So, you know, I’m excited for people to see it and understand.”

Mercedes Mone and Kamille split on AEW Dynamite

The CEO needs a new bodyguard following the events of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and her bodyguard Kamille split on Wednesday’s Dynamite in Chicago in the aftermath of Mone’s title defense over Kris Statlander at Saturday’s Full Gear pay-per-view.

Mone and Kamille were welcomed to the Dynamite stage by Tony Schiavone on Wednesday’s episode for a Mone title celebration. Mone announced that she was there to celebrate in spite of Kamille not being able to do anything right, a reference to a botched distraction during Saturday’s match.

As the TBS Champion was winding up to fire Kamille, the bodyguard took the mic and said that Mone couldn’t fire her because she quits.

Kamille debuted for AEW in July and was added to the Mone act as the bodyguard. Mone made her AEW debut in March at Dynamite Big Business, then had her first match for the promotion in May at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, defeating Willow Nightingale for the TBS title.

Kris Statlander vs. Kamille added to AEW Fright Night Dynamite

A new match has been added to Fright Night Dynamite.

The special edition of Dynamite on October 30 will see Kris Statlander take on Mercedes Mone’s associate Kamille. In a promo on Collision, Statlander said she was the strongest woman in AEW and called out Kamille, saying she’s been a pain in her a**. The match was made official later in the show.

Since defeating Willow Nightingale in a street fight at AEW All Out, Kris Statlander has made an about-face, dropping Stokely Hathaway as her manager and has focused on winning back the TBS title from its current holder, Mone. Statlander has blamed Mone for tearing apart her relationship with Nightingale due to Nightingale’s obsession with Mone and the title.

Already announced for Fright Night is Shelton Benjamin taking on Swerve Strickland. MVP has been attempting to recruit Swerve as a new client, but Strickland has shown no interest.

Here is the updated lineup for AEW Fright Night Dynamite:

  • Swerve Strickland vs. Shelton Benjamin
  • Kris Statlander vs. Kamille

Kamille signing officially announced by AEW

Kamille is officially All Elite.

AEW’s Tony Khan made the official announcement of the former NWA Women’s Champion’s signing in a social media post Thursday. Kamille appeared on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Thursday at Comic-Con in San Diego alongside Mercedes Mone.

Khan wrote:

She returned to AEW last night on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite + appeared beside TBS Champion @MercedesVarnado today at @Comic_Con, and now it’s official! @Kamille_brick is All Elite!

Kamille’s AEW signing was first reported in April, with the star’s NWA contract reportedly running out at the end of 2023. Kamille’s signing may date back as far as February of this year.

Mone vs. Britt Baker for the TBS Championship was officially announced at Comic-Con Thursday by Khan during an AEW panel discussion. A segment with Mone and Kamille is also set for next week’s AEW Dynamite.

Wednesday’s surprise Dynamite appearance was not Kamille’s AEW debut, as the former NWA Women’s Champion appearing on the show once before in 2021 in the build to defending her title against AEW’s Leyla Hirsch at NWA Empower that year.

CMLL Women’s title eliminator, Mercedes Mone & Kamille appearance set for next AEW Dynamite

The rivalry between new CMLL Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale and former friend Kris Statlander apparently will continue on next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

During a backstage promo, Nightingale was jumped by Statlander with manager Stokely Hathaway offering a challenge to the injured champion for a CMLL Women’s title eliminator for next Wednesday. While Nightingale didn’t answer, it’s assumed the match is confirmed.

If Statlander wins, she earns a future title shot.

Nightingale won the vacant title in a three-way at the recent NJPW x CMLL Fantastica Mania. She and Statlander have been feuding since the latter turned on the former at May’s Double or Nothing after Mercedes Mone defeated Nightingale for the TBS title.

After Kamille made her surprise first appearance as an AEW-contracted talent Wednesday, the aforementioned Mone revealed in a social media-only promo that both she and Kamille will be on the next Dynamite to explain their actions in attacking Britt Baker and why they are aligned.

They are the first two items set for next week’s show from Greenville, South Carolina:

  • CMLL Women’s title eliminator: Willow Nightingale vs. Kris Statlander
  • Mercedes Mone & Kamille appearance

Kamille makes surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite, aligns with Mercedes Mone

After news broke back in April that she had reportedly signed an AEW contract, former NWA Women’s Champion Kamille made her surprise promotional return on Wednesday’s Dynamite, aligning with TBS Champion Mercedes Mone.

Mone came out after Britt Baker’s win over Hikaru Shida and said she wanted to give Baker an answer about her challenge for All In. She then said “no” before laughing and distracting Baker as Kamille entered the ring from behind and laid out Baker with a pump kick.

She then put the former AEW Women’s Champion in a torture rack followed by an airplane spin power bomb before Mone got into the ring so the two could stand tall over Baker.

It was Kamille’s first appearance on AEW Dynamite since July 2021 when she confronted Leyla Hirsch ahead of their title match at that year’s NWA Empower.

Kamille became a free agent at the end of 2023 and said on social media she had signed somewhere in February, later joking and claiming she was talking about autograph signings.

A pro since 2017, Kamille is best known for her multi-year run as NWA Women’s Champion, holding the title for more than 800 days from 2021 through 2023. There had been some talk in January of her signing with WWE and then heading to NXT.

In a segment that only aired on social media, Mone said we would learn more about Kamille and why she is with her next week on Dynamite.

Former NWA Women’s Champion Kamille reportedly signs contract with AEW

The long wait to see where former NWA Women’s Champion Kamille will end up appears to be over as she is heading to AEW per a Monday report from Fightful.

Her NWA deal ran out on December 31st of 2023, making her a free agent to kick off 2024.

The 31-year-old recently answered a question on Twitter that she had been signed somewhere since February, later joking she thought the person was asking about autograph signings. Her last match was in November 2023 for a North Carolina indie promotion.

No other information was provided in terms of starting on TV, length of deal, or other promotions she spoke with.

A pro since 2017, she is best known for her multi-year run as NWA Women’s Champion, holding the title for more than 800 days from 2021 through 2023.

There had been some talk in January of her signing with WWE and then heading to NXT.

She has appeared on AEW TV once before in July 2021 to confront Leyla Hirsch ahead of their title match at that year’s NWA Empower.

Former NWA Women’s Champion Kamille expected to join WWE

Former NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille is expected to join WWE.

Dave Meltzer reports in the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the 31-year-old Kamille is expected to end up in WWE and will likely start in NXT. Kamille had a dominant reign as NWA Women’s World Champion from 2021-2023, holding the title for more than 800 days. Her NWA contract expired at the start of 2024.

Meltzer added that no one in WWE has confirmed that a deal with Kamille has been made, but it is expected.

Kamille (Kailey Latimer, 31), whose NWA contract expired this past week, is expected to end up here [WWE], likely with NXT. She was a longtime NWA women’s champion. She’s tall and has a great look but is still pretty green in the ring at least by WWE main roster women standards. Nobody has confirmed that a deal has been made but it is expected.

Haus of Wrestling reported earlier this week that WWE is “super high” on Kamille.

Kamille won the NWA Women’s World Championship from Serena Deeb in June 2021. She lost the title to Kenzie Paige at the NWA’s 75th Anniversary Show last August.

Kamille made an appearance on AEW Dynamite in 2021 as part of the build to her title defense against AEW wrestler Leyla Hirsch at the NWA’s Empower pay-per-view.
