International title match announced for AEW Collision

On AEW Collision this Saturday night, Konosuke Takeshita will make the first defense of his International Championship reign.

Takeshita became a two-time International Champion when he defeated Kazuchika Okada for the belt at Double or Nothing. Less than a week into his reign, Takeshita is set to defend against Daniel Garcia on Collision. The match was announced by Tony Khan on social media today.

“After The Alpha regained the International belt at #AEWDoN, Takeshita will collide vs former TNT Champion Daniel Garcia in a big title fight TOMORROW!,” Khan wrote.

Though Garcia is his first challenger, Takeshita is locked into a feud with Kyle Fletcher after the returning Fletcher targeted him at Double or Nothing. Takeshita, now a babyface, has linked up with The Conglomeration against his former faction mates in the Don Callis Family.

A Trios Championship match with The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) defending against Don Callis Family’s Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta & Lance Archer is among the other matches set for Saturday’s Collision. The show is being held at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

AEW Collision (Saturday, May 30) —

  • AEW Trios Champions The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) defend against Don Callis Family (Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta & Lance Archer)
  • AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne & Lena Kross) vs. TayJay (Tay Melo & Anna Jay) in an AEW Women’s Tag Team title five-minute eliminator match
  • Hazuki vs. Maya World (with Persephone on commentary)
  • Future of the vacant TBS Championship will be addressed

New match added to AEW Collision lineup

Stardom wrestler Hazuki will make her AEW debut this weekend ahead of competing in the 2026 Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

Hazuki vs. Maya World is the newest addition to the card for Saturday’s Collision episode. During the bout, Persephone — Hazuki’s first-round opponent in the Owen Hart Cup — will join the commentary team. A date for the Hazuki vs. Persephone matchup has not been set yet.

At Double or Nothing, the tournament began with Athena defeating Mina Shirakawa to become the first competitor to advance to the semifinals. Hazuki vs. Persephone, Skye Blue vs. Sareee, and Alex Windsor vs. a wildcard entrant are the remaining first-round matchups. The finals will be held next month at Forbidden Door.

AEW presented a three-hour Dynamite/Collision block last night but still has a standalone Collision coming up on TNT in the show’s normal Saturday time slot. The episode is being held in Huntsville, Alabama, where AEW has plans to pay tribute to late Midnight Express member Dennis Condrey.

AEW planning to honor Dennis Condrey at Huntsville event

When AEW comes to Huntsville, Alabama at the end of this month, the promotion will be honoring a tag team wrestling icon who called the city home.

Tony Khan told WAAY 31 News that AEW has plans to honor Dennis Condrey when Collision is held at the Von Braun Center on Saturday, May 30. Though he did not speak on specific plans for the tribute, Khan said the memory of Condrey is “very important” to AEW.

“Absolutely. The memory of Dennis Condrey is very important to us. I had met Dennis Condrey, and I’m a huge fan of Dennis Condrey,” Khan said. “I have so many things that I can say about the life and legacy of the late, great Dennis Condrey — a legendary professional wrestler who touched so many people.”

Condrey, one of the founding members of The Midnight Express, passed away at 74 years old this March after suffering a fall at his Huntsville home. He originally formed The Midnight Express with Randy Rose and Norvell Austin before going on to help define what tag team wrestling would become in his team with Bobby Eaton and manager Jim Cornette. After Condrey left Jim Crockett Promotions, Eaton began a new version of The Midnight Express alongside Stan Lane and Cornette.

To help Condrey’s widow Theresa after his passing, Dax Harwood of FTR started a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than $50,000. The donations included $5,000 from Khan.

Darby Allin, Willow Nightingale title matches added to AEW Collision

Big AEW Collision news on ROH: Supercard of Honor tonight. A pair of championship matches for tomorrow’s TV show were announced during tonight’s premium event.

First, because Darby Allin hasn’t been defending the AEW World Championship frequently enough lately, another challenger has stepped up. Sammy Guevara, one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside The Beast Mortos, noted that he has won many singles championships. He also said he has beaten Allin four times in the past, and challenged him for Collision.

Allin and Guevara have met several times in AEW, in singles, tag team, and other matches. Their most recent one-on-one encounter was the Four Pillars tournament final in April of 2023, when Guevara won by disqualification.

Later in Supercard of Honor, ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet complained about not being in the Owen Hart Cup brackets. She then challenged Willow Nightingale for her TBS Championship, also for Collision.

Velvet and Nightingale have met just once before, with Velvet coming out on top in an Owen Hart qualifier in 2022.

AEW releases full card for Collision

AEW Collision airs live from the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois, on Saturday night. And AEW has already put out a full card for the show.

Kevin Knight will defend his TNT Championship against Hook of the Ops in what appears to be the main event. Knight just pinned MJF on Dynamite and is scheduled to challenge Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship on Wednesday in North Charleston, South Carolina. Hook has most recently been seen welcoming Samoa Joe back from the injury list and recruiting Anthony Bowens into the Ops. His last AEW TV match was a loss in a tag team match, teaming with Powerhouse Hobbs in a defeat against Hangman Page & Swerve Strickland.

There will be two other championship matches on Collision. Willow Nightingale will defend her TBS Championship against Anna Jay, who will be wrestling on TV for the first time since November. Her last match came in a team with Tay Conti, losing to Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir in a tournament for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships.

Also, Jack Perry will defend his National Championship against Mascara Dorada.

In other matches, the Death Riders will team with the Dogs to face Top Flight & the Rascalz in a 10-man tag team match; Juice Robinson & Ace Austin will team up to face Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta; and the Conglomeration and Skye Blue will both be “in action.”
