Hazuki advances in AEW women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament

Hazuki has advanced in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

The Stardom wrestler scored a surprise win on Saturday, pinning Persephone with a cradle to advance in the tournament. She will now move to the semifinals where she will face Mercedes Mone.

After the match, Hazuki made her way up the ramp as suddenly Mone appeared and attacked Persephone with the Owen Hart tournament title. She put the statement maker on Persephone until Hazuki came back to make the save. As Hazuki was checking on Persephone, Mone attacked her as well as security rushed to break up the fight.

At the end of the night it was Hazuki who stood tall, however, wiping out Mone with a dive to the outside to close out the show.

Mone returns, Athena advances in women’s Owen Hart Foundation touranment

Mone ended up being the wildcard of the tournament, defeating Alex Windsor this past Wednesday. It was the first time Mone has wrestled since the end of 2025, when she dropped the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale.

Persephone had been put out of action in storyline after she was misted by the Triangle of Madness. She returned to television on last week’s Collision, doing commentary for a Hazuki match.

The other side of the Owen Hart Foundation bracket has Athena already in the semifinals, defeating Mina Shirakawa back at Double or Nothing. She will face the winner of the match between Sareee and Skye Blue that takes place this coming Wednesday at AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster.

Title match, Owen Hart women’s tourney bout set for AEW Collision

While the overall lineup for this Saturday’s AEW Collision is a bit light in terms of total matches, the show from Youngstown, Ohio, will feature both an AEW Women’s Tag Team title match and a women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament quarterfinal.

Divine Dominion will put their titles on the line against TayJay after the challengers not only survived a five minute challenge last Saturday on Collision to earn the shot, but nearly had Megan Bayne beat as time ran out. Bayne and Lena Kross haven’t defended the titles since April and will be looking for their fourth successful title defense.

The worlds of CMLL and Stardom will clash as CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone battles Hazuki for the first time ever as part of a quarterfinal in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament. It will be Persephone’s first match since getting injured on the April 22 Collision while Hazuki made her AEW debut last Saturday on Collision.

The winner takes on Mercedes Mone in a semifinal after she made her surprise return Wednesday to defeat Alex Windsor in a quarterfinal.

A match in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament will take place on next week’s AEW Collision.

It was confirmed that next week’s show in Youngstown, Ohio will see Persephone take on Stardom’s Hazuki, who defeated Maya World on Saturday. Persephone, the CMLL Women’s Champion, was at ringside and did commentary for the match. This was her first appearance since earlier this month, when it was announced that she was ‘out indefinitely’ after Julia Hart misted her during a match.

After the match Persephone, whose eyes still seemed to be injured as a result of the attack, had a staredown with Hazuki ahead of next week.

The women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament bracket is in a state of flux after Willow Nightingale had to pull out of the tournament due to injury. Her scheduled match with Alex Windsor was moved to this coming Wednesday’s Dynamite, where Windsor will now face a wild card opponent.

Meanwhile, Megan Bayne & Lena Kross will defend the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles against TayJay. The two challengers were victorious on Saturday in Huntsville, Alabama, becoming the first team to endure five minutes with the dominant champions.

Strong Women’s title match confirmed for NJPW Strong Style Evolved

A match for the Strong Women’s Championship is set for next month.

At Fighting Spirit Unleased, Hazuki defeated Trish Adora, Anna Jay, and Koguma in a four-way match to determine Mercedes Mone’s next challenger. Hazuki scored the win after pinning Adora with the La Magistra. As a result of the win, Hazkuki will now challenge Mone at Fighting Spirit Unleashed, which takes place on December 15 at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach.

After the match, Mercedes Mone came out and confronted Hazuki. The two ended up getting into a brawl, with Mone getting the upper hand and standing tall.

Mone currently holds both the TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s titles. She won the former title at Forbidden Door when she defeated then-champion Stephanie Vaquer. Since then, she has been a double champion, defending both titles in AEW. She last defended the NJPW Strong title at AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday, where she successfully defended both titles against Emi Sakura.

Mone’s next championship match will be at AEW Full Gear, where she will defend the TBS title against Kris Statlander.

Mercedes Mone title defense added to NJPW Sakura Genesis

Mercedes Mone will have two challengers in her first defense of the IWGP Women’s Championship.

NJPW has announced that Mone will defend the IWGP Women’s title against AZM and Hazuki in a three-way match at Sakura Genesis on Saturday, April 8. The match was made official with Mone accepting challenges that had been issued by both AZM and Hazuki.

The winner of the match will be in line to defend the IWGP Women’s Championship against Mayu Iwatani at Stardom’s event at the Yokohama Arena on Sunday, April 23.

NJPW wrote:

Since winning the IWGP Women’s Championship at Battle in the Valley, Mercedes Mone has been hitting red carpets and conventions in VIP style with the title, but has yet to make her first defense. Meanwhile, with the door open to challengers from around the world, two have stepped up from STARDOM.

First, High Speed Champion and young superstar of Queen’s Quest AZM would take to the microphone at a press conference recently to state that since Mercedes had mentioned her name as a prospective opponent, she’d be happy to step up. Later, the Wild Heart of STARS, Hazuki threw her hat into the ring as she proposed a three way match- even Mayu Iwatani said she would take on the winner April 23 at STARDOM’s Yokohama Arena event.

In a message released on social media today, Mercedes would issue her response. saying that ‘double the challenge means double the Mone’ the CEO took on the three way at Sakura Genesis April 8. Can Hazuki capture IWGP gold? Will AZM (that’s ‘A Zu Mi’), disrespected by Mercedes’ backhanded praise, make this title spectacular something more personal?

Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, returned to pro wrestling at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 this January. She made her NJPW in-ring debut at Battle in the Valley last month, defeating Kairi to win the IWGP Women’s title.

Sakura Genesis is taking place at Sumo Hall in Tokyo and will air live in English on NJPW World. The updated card for the show is listed below:

  • IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada defends against SANADA
  • IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone defends against AZM and Hazuki in a three-way match
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi defends against Robbie Eagles
  • IWGP Tag Team Champions Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI defend against Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)
  • NJPW World Television Champion Zack Sabre Jr. defends against Shota Umino
  • Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & BUSHI vs. Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & DOUKI
  • Tama Tonga, Hikuleo & Master Wato vs. KENTA, David Finlay & El Phantasmo
  • Jeff Cobb, Aaron Henare & Francesco Akira vs. EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi & SHO

KUSHIDA, Stardom talent set for ROH Best in the World

A number of stars, as well as a match have been announced for ROH’s upcoming Best in the World tour.

Stardom’s Kagetsu and Hazuki were announced for the show on Ring of Honor’s Twitter account today. KUSHIDA has also been signed to compete.

In addition to the talent announcements, ROH also announced a tag team championship match with champions The Briscoes defending the titles against The Young Bucks. The two teams have been feuding in recent months, and faced off against one another on a recent episode of Ring of Honor television where the match ended in a disqualification. The Briscoes left the Bucks lying after the match.

A triple threat match for the Ring of Honor title was previously announced back at the last set of television tapings. Dalton Castle will defend the title against Marty Scurll and Cody in a three way bout. Nick Aldis, who is currently the NWA champion, has said that he will only defend the NWA title if Cody not only wins the ROH title, but puts it on the line at All In.

Best in the World will take place on June 29 at the UMBC Event Center in Baltimore, Maryland. There will be a TV taping the following day in Fairfax, Virigina.
