Athena has qualified for the semi-final of the 2026 AEW Owen Hart tournament.
AEW Double or Nothing 2026 officially kicked off the Women’s Owen Hart tournament. The women’s opening round began with ROH Women’s World Champion Athena taking on Mina Shirakawa.
In the third match of the night, Athena defeated Shirakawa in a closely fought match and crowned herself the winner.
Throughout the match, Shirakawa tried to inflict damage on Athena’s legs, but unfortunately for Shirakawa, the champion stood through it all. Toward the closing moments of the match, Athena executed the O-Face on Shirakawa and secured the pinfall.
With her win tonight, Athena has booked her spot in the semi-final of the tournament. The date for Athena’s semi-final match has yet to be announced.
The other matches for the tournament will see Alex Windsor against a wild-card opponent, Sareee against Skye Blue, and Hazuki against Persephone. Although the dates for these matches have not been confirmed yet.
Harley Cameron doesn’t agree with fans who have criticized her backstage segment with Mina Shirakawa from AEW Dynamite this week.
On Wednesday’s show, there was a comedic moment where Shirakawa — who was trying to motivate her new tag team partner — ripped off the shirt Cameron was wearing. It was played off like Shirakawa expected Cameron to be wearing her wrestling gear, but she only had a bra on under the shirt.
Cameron spoke about the scripted “wardrobe malfunction” during an interview with ESPN South Florida on Friday. For anyone who thought it was objectifying, Cameron pointed out that her wrestling gear isn’t actually that much different than this bra she had on.
“Look, Mina got all riled and she just thought I was wearing my gear underneath, which I wasn’t. And you know what? For everyone who had a heart attack over it, let me just preface the fact that my wrestling gear is actually like just a bra,” Cameron said. “I wrestle in a bra, if anyone takes care to notice. So for everyone that was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ I’m like, Mina’s next to me in a — our gear is bras. So, you know, she just thought I was in my wrestling gear. But I was in the wrong material…
“For anyone that was a little bit taken aback, I mean, guys, watch my matches. I wear a lot less.”
Before this paring with Shirakawa, Cameron teamed with Willow Nightingale and had a three-month reign as the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. Shirakawa’s previous tag team partner was Toni Storm. In their first match as a team, Cameron & Shirakawa lost to Kris Statlander & Hikaru Shida on Wednesday.
In 2025, Cameron had a breakout year and was recognized as the Most Improved wrestler in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards. She told ESPN South Florida that she’s grateful for how Tony Khan has allowed her to learn on the fly after debuting in 2022.
“Tony took a risk hiring someone so new as me,” Cameron said. “And I’m so thankful for him, because I owe him my career. And like I said, I was just lucky that I was prepared and that I was given an opportunity. And then he’s been so amazing in letting me grow my wrestling skills in the company.”
With WWE WrestleMania 42 in the books, the Wrestling Weekly team of Les Thatcher and Vic Sosa look at some of the highlights but with an emphasis on the future of Oba Femi.
In addition, we got one of the best AEW World title matches that has aired on Dynamite, and a match that…well, wasn’t the best.
A clash between former United Empire teammates and the first appearance by new AEW World Champion Darby Allin will headline this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from Portland, Oregon.
After Mark Davis jumped Will Ospreay after the latter’s win over Hechicero this past Wednesday as Don Callis’ “plan B,” the two will go one-on-one. The longtime allies became enemies following Davis’ post-injury return in late-2024 after he turned on Ospreay.
This will be their third-ever singles match with Ospreay going 2-0 (NJPW Cup in 2023, Dynamite in February 2025).
Returning to his home region of the Pacific Northwest, Allin will be on hand to celebrate his upset win over MJF this past Wednesday in a short match with a strong likelihood the former champion also makes an appearance.
The current lineup is rounded out by former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida vs. Mina Shirakawa for the first time ever. Shirakawa confronted Shida and Kris Statlander during Thursday’s Collision, telling Statlander she doesn’t trust Shida.

With almost a couple of weeks left for WWE WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on April 18-19th, 2026, Japanese wrestling promotion STARDOM has now announced their updated lineup for American Dream on the same week.
Multiple AEW talents will be visiting Las Vegas on April 17 during the WWE WrestleMania week to compete in the Stardom American Dream event.
NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion and AEW wrestler Alex Windsor is scheduled to defend her title against Saya Iida. Maika & Mina Shirakawa will take on HANAKO & Yuria Hime.
Athena is also scheduled to face Rina, while Mei Seira, Starlight Kid, & AMZ will take on Harley Cameron, Willow Nightingale, and Kris Statlander.
A new trios match is set for the next AEW Dynamite.
After Alex Windsor, Jamie Hayter, and Mina Shirakawa won a quick squash match on Saturday, the Brawling Birds took the mic and each told Shirakawa that they had nothing to do with the attack on Toni Storm, and would have her back moving forward. That brought out Thekla and the Sisters of Sin, who mocked the trio in the crowd. Thekla said they can’t handle the Triangle of Madness and swore on Storm’s “cold dead body” that if any of them try it with the Triangle of Madness, they would end up the same as her.
Shirakawa took the mic and told Thekla that they will face off next week and would “beat the p***” out of them.
Storm was found attacked and bloodied earlier this month just as she was about to face Marina Shafir in a no holds barred match. Shirakawa took her place and emerged victorious, but was unable to beat Thekla the following week for the Women’s Championship. Thekla has denied any involvement with Storm’s attack, suggesting Storm did it herself in order to avoid her.

The lineup for this Wednesday’s Dynamite just got more loaded.
During Collision Slam Dunk Saturday, it was announced that Rush will take on Darby Allin this Wednesday in St. Paul, Minnesota. Allin defeated Gabe Kidd in a coffin match this on the last episode of Dynamite and after the match declared that he wanted to challenge for the AEW World Championship. Rush and the rest of LFI recently returned to action and won a trios squash match during Saturday’s show.
The Women’s title will be on the line when Thekla defends against Mina Shirakawa. In a backstage interview, Thekla denied having any involvement in the attack that took out Storm on Wednesday, instead suggesting that Storm faked the attack so she didn’t have to face Thekla for the title.
Storm was originally set to face Marina Shafir in a no holds barred match this past Wednesday, but was found laid out just minutes before the show went on the air. Shirakawa replaced Storm and ended up defeating Shafir in a shock win.
It was also announced that MJF would be make his return to television. He was last seen at Revolution retaining the AEW World title in a Texas Death match, defeating Hangman Page. As a result, Page can never challenge for the title again.

AEW Women’s title: Thekla defends against Mina Shirakawa
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will be out of action for “a long time” due to an undisclosed injury or injuries.
That news comes from our Bryan Alvarez who added that is the reason Mina Shirakawa filled in for Storm and then defeated Marina Shafir on last night’s AEW Dynamite.
Storm last wrestled at this past Sunday’s Revolution, defeating Shafir in a hard-hitting match that was followed by Ronda Rousey making a surprise appearance to confront Storm. Storm was then hit by Shafir as Storm and Rousey were being separated.
Prior to Dynamite, AEW released a clip of Storm being found bloodied up in her locker room with Shirakawa and Luther attending to her. She was set to face Shafir in a no holds barred match on last night’s show but was deemed unable to compete and Shirakawa took the spot instead.
The extent of the injuries and/or timeline for her return is unknown as is whether Shirakawa is being slotted into whatever creative was planned for Storm in the near future.
An injury in AEW has resulted in changes for CMLL.
Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford were scheduled to wrestle as a team this Friday at CMLL’s La Noche de Las Amazonas (literally, “Night of the Amazons”), an all-women’s show. Ford, however, suffered an ankle injury against the Babes of Wrath on AEW Dynamite last week. Though the injury is not believed to be severe, it is going to keep her off of this weekend’s card.
Instead, Megan Bayne will wrestle a singles match against Olympia. It will be Bayne’s debut in CMLL, her first match in Mexico, and the first time she has wrestled Olympia.
Mina Shirakawa will also be in Mexico City, facing Zeuxis. This will be Shirakawa’s second appearance in Mexico, and technically the second time she has faced Zeuxis. Both wrestlers took part in the 18-woman Team Mexico vs. Team World Torneo Cibernetico at CMLL International Women’s Grand Prix at Arena Mexico last October.
Olympia and Zeuxis have each appeared on AEW television a handful of times. Zeuxis wrestled a pair of matches against Mercedes Mone, losing both: once in an unsuccessful challenge for Mone’s AEW TBS Championship last June, and then losing the CMLL World Women’s Championship the next week at Grand Slam Mexico.
Olympia then had a win over Taya Valkyrie last October before losing a challenge for Mone’s CMLL World Women’s Championship a week later.
The card so far for La Noche de Las Amazonas:
CMLL World Women’s Championship Match: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Persephone
CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Starlight Kid Mei Seira vs. Las Chicas Indomables (Lluvia & La Jarochita)
Copa Irma González 2026 Marcela vs. Princesa Sugehit vs. La Magnifica
Since winning the TBS title from Mercedes Mone on the New Year’s Smash Dynamite episode, Nightingale has defended it once, against Julia Hart. She has now been booked in a multi-woman match with her title on the line.
Just hours before the February 18th, 2026 episode of Dynamite, AEW’s official social media page shared its updated lineup for the show, which included Nightingale in a title match against Marina Shafir, Megan Bayne, and Mina Shirakawa.
The upcoming four-way match will mark Nightingale’s second title defense in her current reign. Apart from her TBS title reign, Nightingale is also the reigning AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion with Harley Cameron.

The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) created history at AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming, becoming the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.
The duo defeated the Timeless Love Bombs (Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa) in the finals of the eight-team tournament to open Wednesday’s show.
The closing moments of the bout saw Cameron hit her finishing move on Shirakawa, allowing Nightingale to follow up with the Babe with the Power Bomb to secure the pinfall victory.
The post-match angle saw Nightingale express her gratitude toward Cameron, acknowledging how she had remained by her side. Cameron, in turn, reflected on her long history with Nightingale and how the two have grown together to reach this championship milestone.
All four women embraced inside the ring to finish the segment and end the bout on a high note.

Mina Shirakawa is loving the life she’s living in the United States.
This year, Shirakawa made the decision to sign with AEW full-time and move to America upon the expiration of her Stardom contract. She has featured in both AEW & ROH and is currently teaming with Toni Storm in the tournament to determine AEW’s inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions.
A new episode of AEW Unrestricted debuted on Thursday with Shirakawa appearing as the guest. Shirakawa said she loves American life “so much” — except for really missing the quality of sushi they have in Japan.
“I love American life so much. I miss Japanese food, only Japanese food,” she said. “Because I love sushi so much and America has sushi, but no! Totally different from Japanese real sushi. So I miss Japanese sushi, but the American people are very kind to me. So I love American life so much. Every day, I encounter new things in here.”
Shirakawa said there are times where she gets lonely, but adopting a cat has helped her deal with that.
“Sometimes I feel alone in U.S. because this is not my country and I cannot speak English perfectly,” Shirakawa said. “So when I get home, I feel lonely: ‘Oh, I miss Japan.’ But at my house, he’s here. So it’s great. He is taking care of me.”
When asked what her dream in AEW is, Shirakawa said she would love to become a champion. Her parents are really strict and are not accepting of her wrestling career, so she would like to compete for a title at a big AEW pay-per-view and invite them to see that success.
The first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions will be crowned next week when Shirakawa & Storm face Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron on the Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite. Shirakawa told AEW Unrestricted that her pairing with Storm feels very natural because they both have experience wrestling in Japan and understand what the other wants to do in the ring.
The first-ever AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions will be crowned on next Wednesday’s Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite and both finalists are now set.
On Wednesday’s Dynamite, The Timeless Love Bombs (Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa) defeated The MegaProblems (Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir) in a holiday-themed death match that also served as a semifinal.
The end came when Storm hit Shafir with a gift-wrapped high heel shoe, followed by a small package for the victory. The match also saw the return of Storm’s butler, Luther, who had been absent for some time and delivered the shoe to Storm.
The match gives Storm and Shirakawa a measure of revenge after the end of last month’s Blood & Guts match that saw Shafir and Bayne double-team Shirakawa while Storm was held back, leading to her submitting for her team.
Storm and Shirakawa now move on to face The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) to determine the inaugural champions next Wednesday.
Storm and Shirakawa advanced to the semifinals by virtue over their quarterfinal victory over Alex Windsor and Riho.
The AEW Continental Classic will continue on next Wednesday’s Dynamite with a key match in the Blue League between Death Riders teammates.
Announced at the conclusion of Wednesday’s tournament kickoff, Jon Moxley will take on Claudio Castagnoli. Both men picked up victories and their first three points in the tournament Wednesday by virtue of their wins over Mascara Dorada and Orange Cassidy, respectively.
It will be their first singles match since 2017 when they were both in WWE.

The show will also feature a semifinal bout in the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team title tournament as Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa battle Marina Shafir & Megan Bayne in a hardcore holiday death match.
The reason for the stipulation was Storm and Shirakawa earned the right to select one after winning a four-way at last Saturday’s Full Gear.
The winners will move on to face Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron in the finals at a date/location yet to be announced.

Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa had a message for their upcoming opponents following AEW Full Gear on Saturday.
Storm and Shirakawa, The Timeless Love Bombs, won the four-way tag match on Saturday’s pay-per-view. The win earned them the right to pick the stipulation for their semifinal match in the Women’s Tag Team Title tournament against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.
AEW posted footage of Storm and Shirakawa’s post-match comments on Sunday.
Storm says in the video:
“Again you tried to make me watch the torture of this love bomb. Well, isn’t the shoe on the other bloody foot. Marina, I know you don’t where any, but once I’m done with you you’ll be barefoot and pregnant. And I suppose you’re wondering what the stipulation is for our semifinal contest.”
Storm then said Shafir and Bayne would have to wait to learn the stipulation before continuing:
“I promise you this whatever sick, twisted s–t we dream up, we promise to enjoy every single second of it!”
The AEW Women’s Tag Team Title tournament continues on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite with the first semifinal match: the Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) vs. Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue).
