Three new matches added to AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster

Three new matches are official for the next AEW Dynamite.

Shane Taylor made it a point on Saturday to not only go after the Death Riders, but also towards Jon Moxley, calling him out after quickly defeating Alan Angels on Collision. Later in the show, Taylor officially called out Moxley for next week for the Continental title, showing on camera that he had jumped and attacked Wheeler Yuta backstage.

Moxley appeared later in the show and accepted Taylor’s challenge. He said the might have done the same thing, but wouldn’t have made the move unless he was absolutely sure. At Dynamite, he promised to give Taylor exactly what he asked for.

Meanwhile, a member of the Death Riders will take on a member of the Conglomeration when Mark Briscoe takes on PAC. The Dogs will also face The Young Bucks after they issued a challenge on Saturday, upset after Nick & Matt Jackson confronted them on Dynamite.

Orange Cassidy also accepted a challenge from Rocky Romero to face Andrade for this Wednesday.

Mark Briscoe returns on AEW Dynamite, issues challenge

After weeks of absence, Mark Briscoe is finally back on AEW Dynamite.

This Wednesday, May 13, 2026, episode of AEW Dynamite saw the return of Briscoe. The former TNT Champion reunited with his faction, The Conglomeration, in a backstage segment and proceeded to issue a challenge to Tommaso Ciampa.

Ciampa, a former WWE wrestler, joined AEW recently and turned heel on Briscoe by taking him out earlier this year.

Briscoe was previously seen losing against FTR and Tommaso Ciampa and remained absent on television from March 2026.

Update: Later, a match between the two was confirmed for the May 20 episode of Dynamite.

Mark Briscoe almost quit wrestling after his brother’s death

One of the most popular wrestlers in the industry and Mark Briscoe’s brother, fans still remember Jay Briscoe who passed away in January 2023.

Last year at the Full Gear post-show, Briscoe opened up and revealed how he almost quit the industry after his brother’s passing away.

“When my brother passed, the first thing that popped in my head was I’m never going to be able to wrestle again. I don’t ever want to wrestle again. And it was a very short amount of time, and I was like, ‘What are you talking about? No, that’s not how we do this. We’re not quitting, we aint quitters.’ And of course I didn’t. I felt him. He was like, keep on keeping on, brother, make us proud. And tonight is quite a validation. I just appreciate y’all so much.”

Tommaso Ciampa turns against Mark Briscoe on AEW Collision

After weeks of his debut, Tommaso Ciampa has turned heel on the latest episode of AEW Collision.

After winning the TNT title from Mark Briscoe and later losing it to Kyle Fletcher, Ciampa recently suffered another loss at the hands of Daniel Garcia after getting distracted by Briscoe, who was present on commentary.

Portraying a face character on AEW television for the past few weeks, Ciampa showed his true colors on the March 7 episode of Collision.

After losing the match, Ciampa confronted Briscoe before FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) came out and confronted the former NXT Champion. Briscoe got between Ciampa and FTR before leaving the ramp with him.

However, as an ode to his previous WWE DIY breakup angle with Johnny Gargano, Ciampa attempted a similar move and turned his back on Briscoe. Ciampa attacked Briscoe on the ramp before throwing him into the video screen. He finished the segment by hitting him with a running knee strike, which was similar to what he had done to Gargano in NXT. After a brief babyface run, Ciampa has turned heel.

Dem Bucks vs. FTR & Tommaso Ciampa part of updated AEW Dynamite lineup

This Wednesday’s Revolution go-home edition of AEW Dynamite will see the Young Bucks team up with Mark Briscoe for the first time since 2010.

The unorthodox trio will battle FTR and Tommaso Ciampa after Ciampa turned heel on Briscoe during Saturday’s AEW Collision. The Bucks will challenge FTR for the AEW World Tag Team titles at next Sunday’s Revolution.

The Bucks and Briscoes feuded for years with the two sides aligning just once in their careers back at ROH SoCal Showdown in January 2010.

Announced late Saturday night was a new tag team match that will pair Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli against Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero. Moxley will defend his Continental title against Takeshita at Revolution, but this match was born out of Saturday’s Collision main event that saw Takeshita defeat Castagnoli with a brawl breaking out among all four men afterward.

TBS Champion Willow Nightingale will defend against new CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone after she defeated Mercedes Mone this weekend for the title.

After David Finlay made a surprise appearance last Wednesday, he and Gabe Kidd will take on Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy in a grudge match.

The new additions join the previously announced MJF/Hangman Page press conference and TNT title defense with Kyle Fletcher vs. Mike Bailey.

Kyle Fletcher wins TNT title on AEW Dynamite, first title defense set

Kyle Fletcher is once again the TNT Champion, defeating Tommaso Ciampa on AEW Dynamite to regain the title and set up his first defense.

Fletcher ended the 13-day run for the former WWE star, pinning Ciampa after a brain buster that ended the physical bout.

Afterward, Fletcher took the microphone to say he would defend the title against anyone at this Saturday’s Grand Slam Australia as he is returning home. Former champion Mark Briscoe then came out and called his shot for the seventh match in their unofficial series.

Fletcher agreed, but then said if the seventh match was to happen, Briscoe would have to “reach for the sky” as it will be a ladder match which Briscoe quickly agreed to.

It’s Fletcher’s second run with the title after a 114-day reign that ended at last November’s Full Gear to Briscoe in a no DQ match.

New AEW TNT Champion crowned on Collision

In his first-ever match on AEW, Tommaso Ciampa defeated Mark Briscoe to become the new TNT Champion.

Following his debut earlier this week on Dynamite, Ciampa found himself in a title match against Briscoe on the January 31st, 2026 edition of Collision. Both wrestlers took each other to their limits in a closely contested bout.

Despite hitting multiple Psycho Drillers on Briscoe, Ciampa was unable to keep him down for the three-count. However, in the end, Ciampa finished the match by hitting Briscoe with a running knee strike. Following the match, the new champion was showered with a “you deserve it” chant from the fans.

It was also noted by the announcers that Ciampa has now become the second-ever AEW wrestler, after Mercedes Mone, to win a title in their debut match. Soon after the match, former champion Kyle Fletcher also shared his intentions of going after Ciampa’s new gold.

Ciampa, 40, is a former WWE NXT Champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a one-time WWE NXT Tag Team Champion. He has also competed across multiple other promotions and won titles, most notably the ROH World Television Championship.

Tommaso Ciampa on AEW match vs. Mark Briscoe: ‘I know we have chemistry’

Tommaso Ciampa spoke about his AEW in-ring debut match against Mark Briscoe during a recent interview with The Takedown on SI.com.

After the TNT Champion successfully retained his title against El Clon on Wednesday’s Dynamite, Briscoe put out an open challenge for someone to face him on Collision. The debuting Ciampa came out to answer the call.

“I love the Briscoes so much,” Ciampa said. “I have so much respect for them. Mark has always been, to me, the ultimate babyface. He’s impossible to dislike. His fire, his charisma… the second I saw him [Wednesday night on Dynamite] and locked eyes, it was just perfect.”

Saturday’s match will be the first time Briscoe and Ciampa have faced each other since 2013. Their full match from ROH Pursuit night two on November 16 that year was posted to ROH’s YouTube channel earlier this week.

Ciampa also said that he and Briscoe will “just figure it out” as they go on Saturday.

Ciampa continued:

“I think the finest product comes out when it’s organic, and Saturday night, man, it’s gonna be like we’ve touched for the first time ever. And I can’t wait to just figure it out as we go. He hits hard and he can take a licking and I think everyone knows what to expect. It’s gonna be smashmouth.”

“I’m excited ’cause I get to go do what I do with one of my buddies, who I haven’t even seen for over a decade. I know we have chemistry and I just can’t wait to get in there with him and test myself. All Elite Wrestling is where the best professional wrestlers in the world play. Let’s find out.”

For Briscoe, he’ll be looking to defend the TNT title for a fourth time since winning it from Kyle Fletcher at Full Gear. He’s already retained the belt in matches against Daniel Garcia, Hechicero, and El Clon.

Multiple title matches announced for next week’s AEW Dynamite

Several title matches have been announced for next week’s AEW Dynamite from Cedar Park, Texas.

AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander will defend against Thekla who is getting her first shot at the championship.

The two have been feuding for weeks with Thekla calling out Statlander for handing out title shots to everyone before demanding one for herself. Thekla pinned Statlander last week in a trios match to help put this into motion.

Mark Briscoe will defend his TNT Championship against El Clon in a match originally set to take place this Saturday in Arlington, Texas. That changed when the taping was canceled due to winter storms coming into the Arlington, Texas, area, and the match was moved to next Wednesday instead.

The two matches join the originally announced match that will see FTR defend their AEW World Tag Team titles against Jake Doyle and Mark Davis.

It will be Briscoe’s first title defense since mid-December and just his second overall since defeating Kyle Fletcher for the gold at November’s Full Gear. Hechicero is still looking for his first AEW title of any kind.

Another Don Callis Family member — El Clon — will compete for the second straight week as he faces former ROH TV Champion Komander. Komander came to the aid of Angelico last week in Clon’s AEW in-ring debut, setting up this clash of luchadors.

TNT Championship match announced for next week’s AEW Collision

Next week on the January 10th edition of AEW Collision, fans will witness Mark Briscoe defend his TNT Championship.

Tonight, on the January 3rd edition of Collision, Hechicero and Komander competed against each other for a chance to face Briscoe for the TNT title. Komander had almost secured the bout before Hechicero’s fellow Don Callis Family member and AEW’s latest debutant, El Clon, cost him the opportunity.

Following his help from El Clon, Hechicero won the match and secured himself an opportunity for the TNT Championship against Briscoe, next week on Collision. Earlier in the night, El Clon also made his official AEW debut.

43-days into his title reign, Briscoe defeated Kyle Fletcher at AEW Full Gear to win the Championship and has since then defended the title just once, against Daniel Garcia. Next week’s title defense against Hechicero will mark Briscoe’s second TNT title defense.

Mark Briscoe says he considered quitting wrestling after brother’s death

Mark Briscoe says he briefly considered no longer wrestling after his brother Jay’s passing.

Briscoe defeated Kyle Fletcher to win the TNT Championship on Saturday night at AEW Full Gear. During the post-event press conference, Briscoe reflected on his wrestling journey since losing Jay close to three years ago.

Briscoe said:

“It’s amazing. I never necessarily thought that a night like tonight would happen. I’m a tag team wrestler, I’ve always been a tag team wrestler. So, it’s been three years now that I’ve put that behind me.”

“It’s really amazing. Want to thank Tony, want thank my family, thank God, and thank all of ya’ll, all the fans, everyone who supports it. I can’t really quite find the words, but it feels pretty good.”

He later said:

“When my brother passed, the first thing that popped in my head was I’m never going to be able to wrestle again. I don’t ever want to wrestle again. And it was a very short amount of time and I was like, ‘What are you talking about? No, that’s not how we do this. We’re not quitting, we aint quitters.’ And of course I didn’t. I felt him. He was like keep on keeping on brother, make us proud. And tonight is quite a validation. I just appreciate y’all so much.”

On this year’s ballot for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame, Mark and Jay Briscoe received 48 percent of the 60 needed for induction. That was up from the 37 percent of the vote they received last year. The Briscoes were voted Tag Team of the Year in 2007 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards, and their rivalry with FTR in 2019 won Feud of the Year.

Briscoe became the 18th wrestler to win the TNT title at Full Gear. His win over Fletcher marks the 29th time the title has changed hands.

Mark Briscoe’s full appearance at the AEW Full Gear post-event media event begins around the 41-minute and 20 second mark of the below video:

In the 10th overall match of the night, fans across the world and in the Prudential Center witnessed Mark Briscoe defeat Kyle Fletcher to become the brand new TNT Champion. In an almost 25-minute violent match, Briscoe was able to keep Fletcher down for the three-count.

The ‘No Disqualification’ match was preceded by an equally violent ‘No Holds Barred’ match between Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly, where the latter earned the victory.

The TNT title match also saw Briscoe being stabbed in the head multiple times with a screwdriver, dropped onto thumbtacks, thrown off the top rope and much more. Despite the punishment, the 40-year-old displayed remarkable resilience and overcame all adversity to capture his first official AEW gold.
