The show opened with a shot of the Crown Jewel title in the ring as Michael Cole hyped up the women’s champions match for Crown Jewel. Nia Jax then made her entrance.

The Nia Jax/Liv Morgan segment

I like the hook of Stratton saying she’s going to cash in either way at Crown Jewel. Yes, it takes away from the surprise of the always-fun surprise cash-in, but it does add a wrinkle to the Jax/Morgan match and it was a wrinkle the program needed. Does Stratton cash in on Morgan and head over to Raw to work the same nights as her real life boyfriend, Ludwig Kaiser? Or does Stratton cash in on Jax and we head towards the inevitable Jax/Stratton program we’ve been expecting for months? Pro wrestling is a lot more fun when it’s not as predictable. These women did a good job setting the table for Saturday.

Jax began by saying the only thing on her mind is the women’s Crown Jewel Championship. Jax said she wants it and she gets everything she wants. Jax listed off becoming Queen Of The Ring and becoming WWE Women’s Champion. Jax called Morgan insufferable and smirked. Jax said she will walk out the first-ever Crown Jewel champion … and Morgan’s music hit. Morgan walked out with Dirty Dom and Raquel.

Morgan noted how she retired Becky Lynch and became the “greatest women’s world champion of all time.” Morgan then called Dirty Dom the most gorgeous man in the world. Morgan reminded Jax that the last time they wrestled, Morgan beat Jax. Morgan said if anyone is going to become the first-ever Women’s Crown Jewel Champion, it will be her. Tiffany Stratton’s music then hit and Stratton walked out with a microphone.

Stratton said at Crown Jewel, it will be Tiffy Tiime because she’s going to take her MITB briefcase and cash in to become new WWE Women’s Champion. Stratton cut off Jax, who started to talk, and told Jax not to get too comfortable. Morgan laughed at them and said she has people around her that she can trust. Stratton said she hasn’t made her decision yet and both Jax and Morgan were starting “to piss her off.” Stratton reiterated that she will cash in at Crown Jewel. Stratton then asked Morgan that if she beats Morgan, does that mean Dom goes with Stratton. The crowd popped for that.

Stratton said she could use some dirty in her life and Morgan said it looks like Stratton already has some dirty in her life. Stratton responded by elbowing Morgan out of the ring. Morgan then yelled for a referee as the show went to its first commercial break.

Liv Morgan defeated Tiffany Stratton [2:29 of TV time]

Wow. We only got two-and-a-half minutes of that? The perils of running a taped show, I suppose. Two of the company’s biggest women stars and this felt like a throwaway, complete with a dumb finish. That post-match strike from Jax to Morgan with the briefcase looked stiff as hell, though, which was fun.

The match was joined in progress and Morgan was beating Stratton down. Action spilled to the outside and Morgan ran Stratton into the Prime cart. Morgan hopped into Dom’s arms and they rubbed noses. Back in the ring, Stratton cut Morgan off with a boot to the stomach. Stratton went for her gymnastics splash, but Live moved and took back control until Stratton caught Morgan and hit a powerbomb for a two-count. Stratton yelled at Morgan that she’s nothing without Dom.

Stratton lifted Morgan, but it resulted in a Codebreaker from Morgan for a two-count. Morgan went for Oblivion, but Stratton countered with a boot. Jax hopped up to distract the referee and threw Stratton her briefcase. Stratton tried to hit Morgan, but Morgan moved and rolled Stratton up for the win. After the match, Morgan hit Stratton with the briefcase, but Jax grabbed it and hit everyone in sight with the briefcase. Jax then hit her finisher on Morgan to close the segment.

**********

– A Kevin Owens promo from his car aired. Owens said he tried to call Orton all week, but Orton never answered. Owens said he didn’t want to fight Orton because he’s looked up to Orton and he can’t understand why Orton is making Owens do it. Owens said he never wanted to hurt Orton, but now he’s going to. Owens said he’s going to hurt Orton like Orton hurt Owens because Orton “did this to us.” Owens said he’d see Orton Saturday.

The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) defeated Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Montez Ford) [4:01]

Yeah, I don’t blame Montez Ford one bit for coming out today and publicly talking about how frustrated he is in WWE. The Profits are so underutilized, it’s shameful. Even this was a vehicle for two things not related to the Profits – one, to get Miranda on screen with Pretty Deadly and two, to provide B-Fab with a moment to shine as she bodyslammed Prince. Other than those two things, what was the point of this? Pretty Deadly is rarely around and the Profits have been so damaged, any win or loss hardly effects their presentation. Something needs to change.

Pretty Deadly came to the ring with Playbills of “Pretty Deadly: The Musical” in hand. They gave a copy to Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was in the front row. They also gave Miranda a CD, which was funny. Pretty Deadly jumpstarted the match and Wilson started the match with Ford. Prince tagged in and put the boots to Ford. Wilson tagged in and landed a DDT for a two-count. Wilson pounded on Ford and Wilson leapt at Ford, but Ford moved and ultimately got the hot tag to Dawkins to cleaned house.

Dawkins took out Prince with a corkscrew elbow and hit a series of spinning splashes on both members of Pretty Deadly. Prince caught Dawkins and tagged in Wilson. The heels briefly had control and Wilson distracted the ref as B-Fab bodyslammed Prince on the outside. Ford tagged in and the Profits hit their super Blockbuster for the win.

– Jax and Stratton were talking backstage. Stratton said she didn’t mean it when she said she might cash in on Jax. Naomi and Bayley walked into the frame and Naomi told Jax to keep her title warm for Naomi. Stratton had a nasty bump on her head from the briefcase shot earlier.

Bayley & Naomi defeated Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell [8:53]

And I guess that’s it for Indi on WWE TV. In case you missed it, reports earlier Friday indicated that she, along with Baron Corbin and Tegan Nox are no longer with the company. It’s a shame because she’s improved so much since her debut in WWE, but, as it goes, corporations are corporations. As for this match, Indi especially looked the best she’s looked on main roster television. Then in terms of the winner, I like the story they are telling with Naomi racking up victories. My only hope is that it eventually leads to something meaningful for her. The screwy finish here didn’t do much for me, but it did give LeRae a bit of an out. Here’s hoping they still find time for LeRae on TV now that her running mate will be elsewhere.

Hartwell and LeRae jumpstarted the match and attacked the babyfaces. Hartwell worked over Bayley until Bayley fought back, which led to Hartwell planting Bayley. LeRae tagged in and hit a springboard twisting splash on Bayley on the outside of the ring. The show then went to a commercial break. It was about 35 minutes past the hour at this point, and it’s worth noting two whole matches and an entire talking segment had already taken place. Keep that in mind whenever The Rock returns to Friday nights.

Anyway, the show returned and the heels had the upper hand, Hartwell working a chin-lock on Bayley. LeRae tagged in and Hartwell slammed LeRae on Bayley for a two-count. LeRae focused on Bayley’s arm. Hartwell tagged in and went for a boot, but Bayley moved and Ran LeRae into the ring post before hitting a double-knees in Hartwell. LeRae tagged in, but Bayley still managed to get the hot tag to Naomi.

Naomi planted LeRae on the apron and the crowd was as silent as a “Quiet Place” sequel. Naomi followed that up with a split splash. Things broke down and Bayley was the legal woman. Bayley hit a neck-breaker on LeRae and Naomi got a blind tag, but LeRae and Hartwell worked over Bayley, LeRae tried to pin Bayley after a moonsault, but because Bayley wasn’t legal, the ref didn’t count. LeRae then ran into a hip attack from Naomi and Naomi got the pinfall win.

The Bloodline segment

A very strong segment. Jey showed great fire in his delivery and boy, when you think about it, the best thing that could have ever happened to Jey and Jimmy was them hopping in the Bloodline, only for things to go sour, because both have made the best of their singles opportunities. Roman saying only “Yeet!” was a great decision and let’s be honest: It’s a ton of fun seeing those three back together again after all the stuff they’ve been through in this story. I don’t think they win on Saturday – how does the story continue if they do? – but this was an earned feel-good moment.

Roman Reigns made his entrance flanked by Jimmy Uso. The crowd chanted “OTC!” Jimmy started by calling Roman his Tribal Chief and reminding him that “stronger together” is what Roman would always say. Jimmy said he loved Roman and Roman needed to listen to Jimmy: He needed Roman to drop his beef with Jey. Jimmy said he made up with his brother as the crowd chanted “squash the beef.” Jimmy said it was time for Roman to make up with his cousin and “our brother.” Jimmy said if they don’t get right, they’ll lose to Solo and his Bloodline. JImmy kept talking, but Roman put out his hand and Jimmy stopped to put the microphone in Roman’s hand.

As Jimmy went to give Roman the microphone, Jey’s music hit. Jey made his entrance through the crowd and the crowd was awfully excited. After his music ended, the crowd completed the verse a capella, which was wild. A bunch of “Yeets” followed that. “Squash the beef” chants began again. Jey threw off his sunglasses and said, “Let’s get one thing clear: This match, this fight – he only took it to get back at Solo” because Solo cost Jey his title and he’s messing with the family. Jey said things aren’t all the way fixed in the family.

Jey said it took all he had to stand beside Roman in the ring and he won’t forget what Roman did to him. Physical damage. Emotional damage. Mental damage. Jey said he showed up because that’s what family does. Through all of this, the crowd gave “Yeets” in the middle of breaks in dialogue. Jey said they got show everyone it’s family above all. Jey said this go-around, Roman won’t tell Jey what to do and how to do it. Jey said he wasn’t a lackey anymore and he was Roman’s equal now. Jey said all three of them were equals, and they should run things like they used to back in the day.

Jey if Roman speaks to or treats Jey with the slightest disrespect, he’s out. Jey said Roman could act like his cousin and not his Tribal Chief and he’d see him at Crown Jewel for them to do it together. Jey asked Roman if they would do the damn thing and Roman asked for Jimmy’s microphone. “OTC!” chants began. Roman looked around and simply said “Yeet!” into the microphone. The crowd erupted and Jey threw his microphone down. “Hug it out” chants began. Jimmy put up his finger to acknowledge Roman. Jey stepped up and did the same. Roman followed suit and raised his finger, too. The crowd ate it up and Roman’s music hit to end the segment.

– Byron Saxton interviewed the Motor City Machine Guns backstage and asked them what their goals were. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller entered the shot. Waller said they respect MCMG and they should be on the biggest talk show in WWE. Alex Shelley said “Miz TV?” and it was funny. Turns out MCMG will be on The Grayson Waller Effect next week.

– Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill did a walk-and-talk, cutting a promo as they walked to the ring for the next match.

IYO SKY defeated Bianca Belair, Lash Legend and Piper Niven in a fatal four-way [12:04]

The match of the night (on a match-heavy night, relatively speaking) to this point (who knows how this main event will turn out). The crowd loved SKY going over and I can’t figure out why WWE doesn’t want to get behind SKY and Sane more. But there are a lot of things I can’t figure out, so onward, we go. Legend and Niven got the most shine here, which was refreshing to see. The showdown between Legend and Cargill got a nice response, so you have to think a program between the two is in their future. That said, Cargill and Belair had a similar moment at the Royal Rumble and now they’re tag champs. So, we’ll see where everything goes. This was very good, though, and the women worked hard. In some ways, it made the tag title four-way at Crown Jewel even feel a little more appealing.

Things were a little clunky to start out as SKY tried to roll up Legend. Legend then elbowed the hell out of SKY. Those two went to the outside and Belair moved as Niven went for a corner splash. Niven hit a shoulder block on Belair and Legend dumped SKY on the apron. Inside the ring, Legend and Niven traded blows. Legend tried to lift Niven, but couldn’t. Ditto the other way around. The two women hit dual clotheslines and took each other down. Belair got back into the ring and hit a moonsault. SKY returned and threw Legend to the outside.

SKY went for a moonsault, but Niven cut SKY off. Belair then dumped Niven to the outside. Belair followed that up with an attempted splash, but Niven and Legend caught Belair and threw her into the guardrail. The show then went to a commercial break. When it returned, the heels were working over SKY in the ring, complete with a chokeslam from Legend and a Senton from Niven. They both went for the pin, but that just led to Niven and Legend trading blows.

Belair reappeared and hit a splash from the top rope on Niven and Legend. Belair hit a spinebuster on Niven and followed it up with a shoulder-block to Niven and Legend. Belair worked the 10-punches in a corner spot on both heels until the heels lifted Belair. The match reset when SKY came off the top and dropkicked the women. SKY hit a series of double-knees on the heels and went to the top, but Niven cut her off. Niven lifted SKY and Belair interfered by powerbombing Niven. Legend got back into the fold and hit her finish on Belair. Legend went for a pin, but Chelsea Green broke up the pin. The respective teammates of the match participants brawled on the outside. Cargill stood tall after kicking Jakara Jackson – but Legend took Cargill out.

Back inside the ring, Niven landed a series of power moves and Sentons on everyone in sight. Niven hit a Michinoku Driver on Belair. Legend then kicked Niven and Cargill and Legend engaged in a stare down inside the ring. Cargill was pulled outside and as Legend was looking at Cargill, Belair hit KOD on Legend. Instantly, SKY came off the top for a moonsault on Belair and pinned Legend to get the win.

**********

– Cody and Randy Orton were talking backstage. Cody asked Orton to save a piece of KO for Cody, but Orton said there won’t be anything left of KO. Orton stared at Cody’s title as Cody looked away. They said they’d see each other out there.

– An Andrade vignette aired. He said he will become the new champion of the United States. A Carmelo Hayes vignette followed that and said he can’t think of a better place to win the U.S. title than in Saudi Arabia, and that was a very dumb thing to say because … I don’t know … maybe win it in the place the belt is named after? Anyway, LA Knight was the final vignette and said he didn’t regret doing what he did to Andrade and Hayes during Game 7. Knight also said he would retain at Crown Jewel.

– A Solo Sikoa Bloodline vignette aired. Sikoa said his new family would never hurt him or let him down. Solo brought up how Jimmy, Jey and Roman couldn’t get along. Solo kept questioning why he’s the bad guy and said he’s not the bad guy, he’s the Tribal Chief. At Crown Jewel, he said, Roman’s Bloodline will respect Solo’s Bloodline and acknowledge Solo.

Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton defeated Ludwig Kaiser & Gunther [10:15]

A paint-by-numbers SmackDown main event, but entertaining nonetheless. God bless Randy Orton, who was asked to work about 75 seconds in this match and still get the win. The post-match stuff was a nice touch. I kept away from spoilers and was not expecting Owens to run in and hit Orton – and only Orton – with a chair. The heels losing here makes me even more convinced that Gunther goes over at Crown Jewel, but time will tell. Hey, it sounds boring, but this was a hot angle to end a go-home show and you can’t ask for much more than that.

Cody and Gunther started the match, but Gunther immediately went to the outside. Kaiser then attacked Cody and worked Cody over inside the ring until Cody came back with a long-standing vertical suplex on Kaiser. Cody clotheslined Kaiser over the top and followed that up with a suicide dive on Kaiser. Cody rolled Kaiser back into the ring and the show went to its final commercial break.

The show returned and Kaiser had the advantage inside the ring. Cody went for a Cody Cutter, but Kaiser cut Cody off. Gunther then kicked Cody in the head. Kaiser punched Cody repeatedly. Kaiser tagged in Gunther and the two Imperium members his stereo kicks on Cody. Cody and Gunther exchanged blows until Gunther chopped the hell out of Cody and tagged in Kaiser. Kaiser landed a knee for a two-count and worked a chin-lock. Eventually, Kaiser and Cody clotheslined each other to set up the hot tag. Said hot tag then took place and Orton hit Kaiser with his signature snap powerslam.

Gunther tagged in, but Orton went for the Draping DDT on Kaiser. Gunther broke it up with a chop, so Gunther was the recipient of the Draping DDT. Orton set up for an RKO, but Gunther blocked it. Cody tagged in, Kaiser did the same and Cody hit a bionic elbow on Kaiser before landing a Cody Cutter from the top rope. Cody set up for CrossRhodes, but Gunther broke it up. Orton then hit an RKO on Gunther and that enable Cody to get in the CrossRhodes on Kaiser for the win.

The babyfaces posed after their win, but Owens ran in and hit Orton with a chair. Owens stared at Orton’s lifeless body. Gunther then choked out Cody as the show ended.

TNA Impact live results: The fallout from Bound for Glory

Tonight’s episode of TNA Impact will feature all the fallout from last Saturday’s Bound for Glory and comes in a week where two talents suffered injuries during Sunday’s TV taping.

In a high-profile trios match, former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander will unite with two mystery partners against Jonathan Gresham and former TNA World Champions Eric Young and Steve Maclin.

Ash by Elegance will be in one-on-one action against Dani Luna, one half of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions.

The main card is rounded out by The Rascalz vs. First Class, and Lei Ying Lee (the former Xia Li in WWE) looking to remain undefeated in her TNA run against an opponent to be named.

Vikingo was set to compete, but was injured in his TV taping match against Trent Seven while Chris Bey sustained a serious neck injury during he and Ace Austin’s match against new TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys. Bey underwent emergency surgery for the unspecified injury, but remains in good spirits.

**********
The show opens with a shot of Chris Bey’s statement regarding his injury, as a narrator is heard mentioning his GoFundMe campaign.

From there, the show settles into a traditional recap package, looking back at TNA Bound For Glory 2024. We then see a quick “Happy Halloween” message from “The French-Canadian Frankenstein” PCO.

Frankie Kazarian, Joe Hendry, Nic Nemeth & The System Kick Off Halloween Show

Inside the Impact Zone for the first time, Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcome us to the Halloween edition of the show. Joe Hendry’s theme hits and the crowd roars. Out comes what looks at first (and second, honestly) sight to be Hendry.

In all actuality, it is Frankie Kazarian in the silky blue shirt, with a bleach-blond wig and the white pants, looking as much like Joe Hendry as Joe Hendry does. He does the wave and the dramatic soap opera actor head-turn. The works.

Kazarian begins on the microphone, talking in a fake accent over a ton of boos from the fans inside the Impact Zone inside Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, MI. He even does the butt-out stomp-stomp, clap, stomp-stomp-clap routine, while calling himself an idiot who got lucky with viral fame.

As soon as he says, “When you say his name, he appears,” the theme for Joe Hendry hits again and out in the same outfit pointing at the imposter as the fans go wild. He gets in the ring and Kazarian backs off and exits the ring, but again does the butt-out stomp-stomp clap routine to his music, and the wave, from ringside.

As Hendry runs down Kazarian on the mic for being old, the theme for Nic Nemeth interrupts them. The TNA World Champion comes to the ring and explains himself to Hendry, noting all he saw at Bound For Glory was his brother Ryan Nemeth getting hit.

He says he believes in Joe Hendry after Bound For Glory and that Hendry deserves a shot at the TNA World Championship again. He says he wanted to give him that shot tonight, but TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella said no.

As the crowd boos, we hear the annoying voice of Alisha Edwards as she says her catchphrase, “Do you wanna know something?!” over and over and over again. She drones on forever with Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards and Tasha Steelz by her side, until Nemeth suggests he and Hendry beat up The System duo of Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers tonight.

Kazarian butts in with the fake Scottish accent and suggests they make it a six-man tag and he be their partner. He does the Hendry entrance wave to the crowd, but is met with a super kick from Nemeth and a Standing Ovation from Hendry.

Hendry’s theme hits again to end the entertaining opening segment. Hannifan and Rehwoldt run down the lineup for tonight, mentioning First Class vs. The Rascalz is coming up first, and then the show heads into the first commercial break of the evening.

Alisha Edwards, Tasha Steelz, Masha Slamovich & Jordynne Grace Brawl

When the show returns, Hannifan and Rehwoldt are shown on-camera to explain that throughout the break, the shrill-voiced Alisha Edwards has been ranting away. As he tries saying that, he is cut off by the very same shrill-rants.

Edwards brings up there being a new TNA Knockouts Champion following TNA Bound For Glory 2024. As she verbally runs down the new champ and her former MAlisha tag-team partner, the new champ makes her way out to confront her in the ring.

Slamovich yanks the mic out of Edwards’ hand and mocks her. “Do you wanna know something?” Slamovich says everyone is sick and tired of hearing her voice. (Preach!) Slamovich says she doesn’t care if it’s Edwards or Steelz. She’s looking for a fight tonight.

Steelz seems game, and the two begin duking it out. As Slamovich gets the better of the exchange, Edwards attacks her from behind. Slamovich gets the better of Edwards, and Steelz jumps her from behind.

As the two begin to take over, Jordynne Grace’s theme hits and “The Juggernaut” comes out and runs them off. After Steelz and Edwards retreat to the floor, Grace and Slamovich stand tall in the ring as Santino Marella’s theme hits. He announces Grace & Slamovich vs. Edwards & Steelz for next week. For tonight, it’ll be Hendry & Nemeth vs. Edwards & JDC.

First Class (AJ Francis & KC Navarro) defeated The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel)

A brief TNA / BLCKSMTH ad airs and then the show returns inside the Impact Zone where First Class’ theme hits. AJ Francis and KC Navarro make their way to the ring for scheduled opening tag-team action.

After they settle inside the squared circle, The Rascalz duo of Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel come out for the first time in four months to team up for a match. The crowd gives them a good reaction coming out and the commentators emphasize the significance of their return as a unit.

The bell sounds, and it is Miguel and Navarro who kick things off for their respective teams. Fans chant “Let’s go Rascalz!” as they get ready to get things started. Navarro takes the early offensive lead, but puts the big L sign on Miguel’s head, which only fires up The Rascalz’ member.

Miguel grabs hands with Navarro, walks the ropes and blasts him with a big shot to knock him down to the mat. He makes the tag to Wentz, who hits a sunset flip over the ropes to set up a wild double-team sequence with Miguel that pops the crowd.

As the Detroit fans in “The Motor City” break out in a random “Motor City!” chant, Hannifan gives a shout-out to The Motor City Machine Guns for making a big impact in WWE by winning the tag-team titles so soon after debuting on SmackDown.

Francis gives an assist behind the referee’s back that helps Navarro take over and hit a big high spot from the ring to the floor to take out Wentz. Francis tags in and the crowd craps all over him as he slows things down and beats on the already laid out Wentz.

He hits Miguel with a cheap shot and then a splash on Wentz in the opposing corner. He hits a running knee, floating over the ropes and to the floor for a “Money! Money! Money!” war-cry as Navarro tags in and takes over on Wentz back inside the ring.

Wentz and Miguel fire up again, but things culminate with the finish moments later, as Francis hits the Down Payment chokeslam to Miguel off the ropes in the corner for the victory. After the match wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

Eric Young, Jonathan Gresham & Steve Maclin defeated Josh Alexander & The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch)

Josh Alexander makes his way out when the show returns. “The Walking Weapon” addresses chants of “Walking Weiner” from fans in the Impact Zone. He says he’s already not in a good mood. He heads to the ring accompanied by The Good Hands duo of Jason Hotch and John Skyler.

Alexander mentions Hotch and Skyler being with him because Sinner & Saint aren’t. He says TNA would tell you they aren’t there due to travel issues. He says that’s not true. He says they were turned away at customs. He tells The Good Hands if they do good tonight, there might be an opportunity for them.

The theme for Eric Young hits and out comes “The World Class Maniac.” He settles into the ring and then “The Octopus” Jonathan Gresham heads to the ring. As he does, Hannifan mentions another update on Chris Bey. Steve Maclin comes out last and rushes to the ring to try and get his hands on Alexander.

Alexander slides out of the ring, as do The Good Hands. As order is restored and things get started in our next match of the evening, Alexander immediately tags out and Skyler comes in to kick things off with Gresham. The show heads into a quick mid-match commercial break as the action continues.

When the show returns, we see Alexander is finally willing to tag in now that his opposition is down and out. After they start to fight back into competitive form, he quickly tags out again, only to come back in moments later and chop-block Young’s knee from behind.

Things once again don’t go Alexander’s way, and this time he simply walks off, leaving Hotch and Skyler to fend for themselves. They are immediately gobbled up by a fired up Maclin and Young, with Maclin finishing things up with a KIA for the win. After the match, the show heads into another break.

Looking Back At “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

When the show returns, we hear Tom Hannifan say, “And now, looking back at the conclusion of “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. El Hijo del Vikingo from TNA Bound For Glory.”

Like he says, the show shifts to footage of the final several minutes of the instant classic TNA X-Division Championship bout between the two, which Bailey would go on to win.

Presumably this is being done in place of the El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Trent Seven match that resulted in Vikingo being injured airing. Read a full recap of the bout via our TNA Bound For Glory 2024 results here at F4WOnline.com.

Ash By Elegance (w/ Heather By Elegance & George Iceman) defeated Dani Luna (w/ Jody Threat)

The show heads to a commercial break after the X-Division title bout from TNA Bound For Glory 2024 wraps up. When the show returns, we see footage of the Countdown to Bound For Glory Call Your Shot gauntlet of AJ Francis hitting his Down Payment on Trent Seven to eliminate him.

Backstage, Seven is shown dejected when Mike Bailey walks up and gives him a pep talk. It is interrupted when The System come in. Moose talks about wiping TNA Bound For Glory 2024 from the records, because The System don’t lose. Bailey tells Moose we all saw him lose. A match is made between the two for Bailey’s title on next week’s show.

Inside the Impact Zone, Dani Luna makes her way to the ring accompanied by Spitfire partner Jody Threat. She settles in the ring for the next match of the evening, and then out comes George Iceman to personally introduce Ash By Elegance. She comes out accompanied by Heather By Elegance.

Ash passes her excess ring gear off to Iceman at ringside, who himself is holding a giant broomstick on this Halloween edition of the show. Ash and Luna lock-up and Luna powers Ash down to the mat and taunts her.

Heather gets involved at ringside and actually gets pulled into the ring. Luna chases Ash around the ring and gets hit with a drop toe-hold that sends her crashing face-first into the steel ring steps. Back in the ring, Ash goes for the cover, but only gets a two-count.

Luna takes back over on offense, as Sada Baby is shown in the crowd. Apparently he’s a rap star. Luna hits a big Blue Thunder Bomb for a close two-count. She hits a big suplex and another, prompting Ash to roll out to the floor and call for a time-out as fans chant “One more time!”

Luna tries hoisting Ash over the ropes back into the ring. Iceman holds onto Ash to help and as the referee is dealing with that, Heather By Elegance blasts Luna with the broomstick. Ash follows up with a swanton off the ropes for the victory.

After the match, another narrated message with an update on Chris Bey airs, with a still image promoting the GoFundMe campaign set up to aid in his recovery costs. From there, the show heads into another commercial break.

Lei Ying Lee defeated Maggie Moore

When the show returns, the lights in the Impact Zone immediately go out. The theme for Lei Ying Lee hits and out comes the former Xia Li for the next match of the evening on the Halloween episode of TNA Impact.

Already in the ring is her scheduled opponent for tonight, Maggie Moore. Hannifan mentions Moore has some experience under her belt on TNA Xplosion on TNA+. The two lock-up as the bell sounds and Lee immediately takes the offensive lead.

Lee slams Moore head-first into the mat and then connects with a big stomp. She gets Moore in a corner and unloads on her with strikes. Moore tries to mount an offense in the corner moments later, but Lee reverses her and drills her with repeated forearms.

Moore ends up connecting with a pump-kick that caught Lee by surprise. She goes for a suplex to follow-up, but Lee escapes and hits a spinning back-kick to the bread-basket. She hits a double-jump turning cross-body off the middle rope. She hits Thunderstruck after that for the easy win.

After the match, Savannah Evans makes her surprise return for the first time in months. In her first appearance back, she attacks Lee in the corner as she was celebrating. She yells at her, “My time, not yours!” and then chokeslams her and leaves her laying. After this wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

Eddie Edwards & JDC defeated Nic Nemeth & Joe Hendry

It’s main event time!

But first, when the show returns, Mike Santana is shown in a direct-to-camera promo package. He talks about being taught you have your word and your balls, and you don’t break them for anyone. Where have I heard that before? Hmm.

He gloats about going through The System one-by-one. He says now it’s time to bring home the TNA World Championship to us. It’s not a matter of where or how, it’s only a matter of when. He stands up and walks off.

After that wraps up, the matches listed below were officially announced for next week’s episode of TNA Impact on November 7. When we return inside the Impact Zone, Frankie Kazarian, back as himself, comes out with his Call Your Shot trophy to join Hannifan and Rehwoldt on special guest commentary for the main event of the evening.

The theme hits to bring out the team of Eddie Edwards and JDC, accompanied by Alisha Edwards, for the final match of this week’s special Halloween episode.

After they settle in the ring, the viral smash hit, “I Believe in Joe Hendry” hits the house speakers and out comes the wildly popular TNA star to a Road Warrior pop. Nic Nemeth’s theme hits next, with Kazarian calls “filthy music,” and out comes the TNA World Champion ready for battle.

Edwards and Hendry kick things off for their respective teams as the bell sounds to get this one started. Edwards takes the early offensive lead over Hendry, pounding him with clubbing blows. This doesn’t last for long, however, as Hendry fights back and hits his stalled suplex spot for a big crowd reaction.

After he goes for the cover and gets a count of two, Edwards fights back and tags in JDC, who comes in and takes over as the show heads into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues. When the show returns, Edwards is beating down Nemeth.

Meanwhile, Kazarian is showing off his Call Your Shot trophy to Hannifan and Rehwoldt at the commentary desk. JDC tags in and picks up where Edwards left off, taking it to Nemeth, as the crowd rallies behind the TNA World Champion in hopes of him making the much-needed tag to Hendry.

JDC looks for a flipping leg-drop off the ropes, but no one is home and he takes a super painful landing. Fans chant “We believe!” as Nemeth crawls to his corner in hopes of making the tag. Edwards tags in for his side and grabs Nemeth’s foot before he can, but Nemeth explodes forward and gets the tag.

Hendry takes the hot tag and comes into the ring with a ton of energy, hitting any-and-everything that moves. He hits a big fall away slam on the larger Edwards and then plays to the crowd. He does the dramatic soap opera turn and then the butt-out stomp-stomp, clap routine.

JDC and Edwards double-team him to try and cut his momentum off, but Hendry pulls off a Road Warrior Hawk by ducking and coming off the ropes with a leaping double clothesline to take them both out. Hendry tags Nemeth back in, who hits Edwards with a FameAsser for a close two-count that is broken up by JDC.

Hendry and Nemeth work together, but Hendry accidentally clotheslines Nemeth. Edwards follows up with a Boston Knee Party for the win. Hannifan mentions it being the first time Nemeth has been pinned in TNA Wrestling in the past six months.

Hendry tries explaining himself to Nemeth afterwards, but Nemeth doesn’t want to hear it. Nemeth leaves the ring. Hendry follows after him and stops him to try again to explain. Nemeth says “everybody gets one” and the two continue a heated-exchange until Nemeth storms off angry once again.

Hendry tries again to catch up to him. Nemeth points and yells at him one more time. He yells, “Got it?” and heads through the entrance tunnel. Hendry looks upset. Hannifan plugs the TNA socials to follow Nemeth through the entrance tunnel and see what happens next. That’s how this week’s show goes off the air. Happy Halloween, everybody! Thanks for joining us and don’t forget to follow F4WOnline.com’s Matt Boone on Twitter/X.

Next Week:
* Jordynne Grace & Masha Slamovich vs. Alisha Edwards & Tasha Steelz
* Rosemary vs. Wendy Choo (No DQ Match)
* “Speedball” Mike Bailey (c) vs. Moose (TNA X-Division Title)

Ring of Honor TV live results: Athena vs. Abadon Halloween Ring of Horror match

Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena will put her record-breaking title run on the line as part of tonight’s ROH show on HonorClub against Abadon.

The match won’t be of the traditional variety, but will be a Halloween Ring of Horror match, assumed to be a hardcore match. Athena has held the title for nearly 700 days with 23 title defenses to her credit.

After returning last week on AEW TV, Tomohiro Ishii will be in action against Josh Woods while in a Pure rules match, Matt Taven of the Undisputed Kingdom will battle Aaron Solo.

In tag team action, the reluctant pairing of JD Drake & Beef will take on Peter Avalon & Preston Vance.

CMLL’s Reyna Isis will look to go 2-0 in ROH action as she goes one-on-one with Lady Frost.

Johnny TV, Billie Starkz and the Gates of Agony will all be in action against opponents to be named.

**********

It was sure to be chock full of tricks, but with even more treats as the extra-sized Halloween Edition of Ring of Honor on Honorclub hit the air for the 88th time! Starting with a promo from none other than The Righteous! Vincent and Dutch lamented the snakes in the industry and called out ROH Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. The Righteous are snakes too and they want those belts.

BEEF & JD Drake defeated Peter Avalon & Preston Vance

So, BEEF is becoming very popular. It might be his infectious enthusiasm, it might be his family loyalty, it might be his chiseled physique. But for whatever reason, he’s becoming a big deal. Drake is of course the partner of BEEF’s cousin, Anthony Henry (who is currently on the shelf for about 6 weeks with an injury). So, after weeks of begging to meet Drake, BEEF got the chance to actually tag with him! Drake wasn’t as excited as BEEF though, so the alliance was uneasy. Avalon and Vance were also there.

BEEF and Vance kicked things off and it became clear that this match was going to boil down to fitness vs… BEEF and Drake. The strength factor was pretty even though, with Vance giving as good as he got, while BEEF no-sold his offence until a stalling suplex from Vance put him on his back. Avalon did have a bit of a size disadvantage, especially when up against Drake. But he was slippery and the bigger men had a hard time getting a hold of him.

BEEF and Drake actually managed to get some cohesivness, calling out moves to each other and trading tags in a way that made it seem like they had been teaming for years. That might be an interesting thing to keep in mind for the return of Anthony Henry in a few weeks.

Vance and Avalon looked good too. Avalon’s expressive face was hilarious when getting chopped and Vance brought a ton of skill and strength to the team. A miscommunication found Avalon on the recieving end of a Vance lariat though, so it may be a short lived team up.

Drake grabbed the prone Avalon in the ring and BEEF hit him with a big frog splash to get the win. Drake was a little annoyed as he was setting him up for his own finisher, but in the end he was happier with the win than without.

Johnny TV defeated Deonn Rusman

One thing that Rusman is very good at is being beaten up by big dudes. Brian Cage, Lance Archer and EJ Nduka have all clocked wins against Rusman in the last few months. Now TV isn’t necessarily the biggest guy in the sport, but he wrestles like he is. TV’s last ROH match was a loss to Komander, so TV would be looking to right the ship a bit here and Rusman seemed like a good enough candidate to let him do it!

TV jumped Rusman right off the top, taking him to the ground then doing a really good Ravishing Rick Rude impression. Rusman got mad at that and decided to run face-first into TV’s foot about it. Rusman showed some signs of live right up until TV kicked him in junk. Like, blatantly. But the ref didn’t seem interested.

I have to be honest. TV did his best to make this match look good, but Rusman just couldn’t keep up with him. There was a lot of missed and illogical spots that made it a relief when TV hit three rolling neckbreakers and Starship Pain to put an end to it.

Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) defeated CSJ & Dave Dutra

Last week, Kaun and Liona had a great match against the Infantry that they ultimately won. This week, they look to continue that momentum against CSJ and Dutra. This would be Dutra’s ROH debut. CSJ aka CantStopJamaal aka Jamaal Starkz had less information available on him, so I presumed this was his ROH Debut as well, for what it was worth.

Kaun was literally laughing as he and Dutra started things off. He and Liona isolated and assaulted Dutra, but Dutra managed to get the tag to CSJ when he was literally thrown across the ring at him. Kaun and Liona beat up CSJ on the out side so brutally you could hear the ringside fans exclaim “oh my God!”

Back in the ring, Liona sat on CSJ while Kuan posed and that’s how they got the win.

-The Tag champs, Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes, addressed the Righteous’ challenge from earlier. They accepted the match and Rhodes told the Righteous to keep his family’s name out of their mouths because he’s from Texas, and they know how to deal with snakes down there: you cut their heads off. Rhodes and Guevara promised to be present for the Righteous’ match later in the show.

Reyna Isis defeated Lady Frost

Frost has had an up and down year, splitting her time between ROH and AEW and amassing a 12-23 record.  She had a chance to move up a tier a couple of weeks ago in a Proving Ground Match against ROH Women’s Champion Athena, but ended up short. Isis on the other hand, on a break from about a thousand CMLL matches, beat up Viva Van last week.

Equal in size and strength, this was a pretty good back and forth match between two international stars. Isis spent a lot of time on the top rope, running rolls and splashes. Frost ate a lot of offence but wa able to keep up and return the favor.

Frost thought she had the one-up on Isis with a big rolling cannonball in the corner. That just work Isis up though and she sat Frost down on the second rope to deliver a guillotine leg drop from the top rope for the win.

This was a really fun match, but the extra cherry on top was the commentary team trying to break down Isis’ moves into anatomical scientific terms like two second-year kinesiology students at a lecture.

Pure Rules Match: Matt Taven defeated Aaron Solo

While he’s had some success outside of ROH you have to go back to April to find Solo’s last win on Honorclub. Taven on the other hand took a shot at the ROH World Championship at the beginning of October and he and his Undisputed Kingdom partner Mike Bennett are perpetually in the Tag Title hunt.

This match was a Pure Rules Match, which meant that each competitor would get three rope breaks and one closed fist warning. In the event that it goes to the time limit, a panel of judges would award the win based on points. This would be Taven’s first Pure Rules match so it would be interesting to see if he could adapt.

Solo actually spent the first few minutes of the match in control, with Taven seeming a little hesitant to work within the confines of the Pure Rules. He figured it out though and began leaning on his technical ability to try and put Solo down.

Solo used his first rope break about a minute in and shortly thereafter, Taven appeared to injure his knee. Solo took advantage with big kicks and knees of his own. Taven battled back from it though and locked in a crossface, forcing Solo to use his second rope break at 4:31. Solo used his final rope break thirty seconds later to prevent a pin.

Taven hit a front slam into another crossface and Solo tapped out, giving Taven the win. ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty appeared at the top of the ramp and Taven called for his belt, the only one in ROH that Taven has not held.

-Remember the promos that BEEF and Anthony Henry used to do where BEEF was overly excited and Henry would be upset about it, even though they just got a win? Well, they did one of those but with Drake instead of Henry.

The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) defeated Jay Marsten & Solomon Tupu

The Righteous are one of the most consistently entertaining teams in ROH. They don’t care much for rules and such, but they are fun to watch. Marsten and Tupu were making their ROH debuts, but everyone was watching the top of the ramp for the Tag Champs.

Vincent started off against Marsten, but he and Dutch exchanged tags at record speed for some reason, each one getting a shot or two in before the other swapped out.

Tupu got beat up by Drake and Marsten got pinned by Vincent and that was about it for the match.

Afterwards, Vincent and Dutch started beating up Tupu in the center of the ring. Vincent smashed his leg with a chair with Dutch adding his railroad spike for good measure. As they lined up Marsten for the same, Guevara and Rhodes arroved and ran down to the ring!

Guevara grabbed a chair and the Righteous bolted, leaving the champions standing tall.

Tomohiro Ishii defeated Josh Woods

Josh Woods is a very big Premier Athlete and Ishii is a very big part of The Conglomeration. Together, they are two very big dudes who like hurting people, so this match had all the potential to be a “Knocker of Slobber” if you will. Woods was accompanied to the ring by Mark Sterling and Aria Daivari (3rd Athlete Tony Nese was off celebrating the birth of his twins!).

Ishii refused a Code of Honor and the two leapt into a series of amateur-looking holds and catch-style grapples. Woods had the size on Ishii, but Ishii’s pure strength and toughness more than made up for that. Ishii fed chops to Woods like they were Skittles and Woods responded with big stomps in the corner.

The two men beat the hell out of each other from there. Massive chops, huge slams and lots of screaming. Ishii has the density of a dying sun and so Woods’ attempts to throw him around didn’t go anywhere and made the ring shake when he found a ringpost.

Ishii got Woods up in a stalling brainbuster and dropped him like a sack of cement. That led to a pin and Daivari jumping Ishii in the ring. Ishii’s Conglomerate pal Kyle O’Reilly ran in to even the odds and the Athletes slunk away.

-Rhodes and Guevara cut a promo from the back. They were REALLY mad that the Righteous tried to hurt their opponent and yelled about it. Suddenly Vincent and Dutch appeared and jumped the champions, laying them out and posing with their belts.

Action Andretti & Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) defeated Trip Jordy, Dante Leon & Jah-C

Andretti has been acting a little strangely lately. A potential Andretti heel turn was teased during the taping of this week’s Collision, I won’t spoil anything here, so check that out for more information. Leon was last seen in ROH at the end of August in a losing effort against the Gates of Agony. This match would be Jah-C’s ROH debut for 2024 and Jordy had blue tights.

The match itself was fine, all six men have great speed and agility. Top Flight and Andretti had the benefit of being a cohesive team though, so they obviously had the advantage. They were able to tag in and out in what seemed like a fluid rotation, keeping whoever was legal from the other team completely overwhelmed.

Of the three newcomers, Jah-C impressed the most. He had speet and power and seemed like a lot more of a threat to Top Flight and Andretti. He had great sequences with all three.

In the end though, Duante finally put down Dante and Andretti and Top Flight got the win.

ROH Classic Match: Jay Lethal vs Curry Man (29.10.2005, Connecticut, USA)

The only reasoning for showing this match that I could figure out was “Curry Man wears a mask and it’s Halloween.” I love the classic ROH content, but its a lot more exciting in the context of a current story, match or wrestler. Neither Jay Lethal or Curry Man (aka Christopher Daniels) had anything to do with anything. Those two are very good at wrestling, so it was neat to watch. But somewhat pointless in the grand scheme of things.

Billie Starkz defeated Blair Onyx

Billie Starkz has always been a petulant teenager. But now, she’s a petulant teenager with an axe to grind against her former (Sister? Friend?) idol Athena. That didn’t bode well for Onyx, who was making her ROH Debut here.

Starkz had the upper hand in pure talent and size and wasted no time bratting her way into Onyx’ personal space. She seemed to be dialed up a bit more than usual, and was a lot more aggressive. A particularly vicious moment was a front flapjack slam that flattened Onyx’ face.

Onyx missed an elbow drop that led to a two count, infuriating Starkz. She caught Onyx in midair and planted her to the mat for the win.

The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) w/Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor defeated Spanish Announce Project (Angelico & Serpentico)

The Infantry and Shane Taylor Productions have always been friends. No better example could be made of this than the footage they showed of them backstage, agreeing to join Shane Taylor Promotions, officially! The SAP were cool with it, as they are with most things. Both of these teams deserved to be in the Tag Team title conversation and a win here would definitely push them into it.

Angelico and Dean started things off, with Dean in particular showing a lot more power than usual. He tagged in Bravo and he too seemed to have a different attitude, harder strikes, and more aggression. SAP were able to counter with their speed and agility, but even they seemed surprised and the Infanty’s new vibe.

Shane Taylor stomped down to the ring and distracted the Ref giving Trish Adora a chance to kick Angelico in the junk on the outside. The Infantry beat up both members of SAP on the ramp before tossing them back in to beat the 20 count.

Back in the ring, The infantry beat up an isolated Serpentico while Angelico was still recovering on the ramp. Dean bounced Serpentico’s face off the second turnbuckle and Bravo hit a high knee, but Serpentico kicked out at two.

Angelico arrived out of nowhere and cleaned house, saving his partner. Moriarty jumped into the ring and hit Angelico with a foreign object, knocking him cold and letting the Infantry pick up the win.

Diamante defeated Aminah Belmont

Diamante’s win-loss record for 2024 sits at 10-11. That includes a loss to Leyla Hirsch (who’s return to ROH is imminent) in a Texas Death Match and a failed attempt at taking the Women’s TV title from Red Velvet. Belmont, making her ROH debut, lost to Nyla Rose in 90 seconds on Collision in August and hasn’t been seen since.

It seemed to be part of her gimmick, but Belmont looked like a child in the ring with Diamante. It was no surprise to see Diamante dominate here. Huge supllexes, double stomps and a twisting DDT made short work of Belmont as Diamante picked up the win.

-Backstage, Lexy Nair congratulated Billie Starkz on her win, but they need to be focused on Athena’s match tonight and show their support. Starkz said that she was taking her “MIT Day Off” for this one and left, leaving Nair terrified of what awaited with Abadon.

The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver and Alex Reynolds) defeated Jakked Jameson & The Iron Savages (Bronson and Boulder)

This unannounced Trios match started off with Silver against Bronson. Silver was dwarfed by the bigger man, so Uno tagged in and along with him came the momentum. Reynolds didn’t fare as well though, with Bronson targeting his injured ribs. Boulder tagged in and continued the pattern.

The match plodded on with the Savages and Jameson doing their schtick and the Dark Order trying to wrestle a match around it. Uno tagged in Silver and they tried a triple team on Bronson but couldn’t do it because of Reynolds injured ribs. Chaos broke out and somewhere in there, Reynolds pinned Bronson.

Komander defeated Ariya Daivari

Komander had a chance to claim the ROH TV title from Brian Cage last week, but failed to continue getting up from being thrown at the ground. So now, he moves on to face Daivari of the Premier Athletes. Daivari was accompanied by Mark Sterling and Josh Woods. Tony Nese was still celebrating his twins, I assume.

With these two in the ring, the match was practically predestined to be great. Both had the speed and athleticism, with Daivari having the strength and conditioning advantage and Komander bringing the high-flying. The two battled in the ring while the commentators reminded everyone to vote on Election day, which you absolutely should do.

Sterling jumped up to cause a distraction and Daivari knocked Komander off the top rope. Working the back, Daivari threw Komander to the outside where Sterling and Woods stomped on him and tossed him back in the ring where Daivari applied a sleeper. Komander fought out though and the match carried on.

Daivari took out Komander with a vicious superkick, but missed the followup splash. Komander went for one of his own, but Sterling made the save and Woods hit Komander from behind. It wasn’t enough though, and Sterling distracted the ref. Komander hit a big running flip from the top rope on all three on the outside.

Komander threw Daivari back into the ring and hit a top rope equalizer to pick up the win.

-The new ROH World Champion Chris Jericho cut a promo endorsing Athena in her match tonight and wishing everyone a Happy Halloween. Thanks guys!!

ROH Women’s World Title Halloween Ring Of Horror Match: Athena (c) defeated Abadon

Halloween is the one day a year when Abadon is able to break from her otherworldly chains and walk amongst the living! Ok, that may not be entirely the case, as Abadon has been stalking Athena for months now, but last week during Athena’s Celebration of her Record-Breaking title run in ROH, Abandon did commit murder by using Athena’s face to murder a costco cake. Hanging over Athena’s head as well was Billie Starkz, a Minion In Training who might be looking to add “former” to that title.

As part of the Halloween Ring of Horror Match, the two were cuffed together with a chain between them. Abadon used that to her advantage, pulling Athena to her to face some hard strikes. Athena fought out and sent her to the outside. Athena tried a chait trick, but Abadon had a Kendo stick. Athena blocked it with a garbage can lid.

Athena grabbed a barbwire bat from a trash can and took a few swings, hitting Abadon in the midsection. Athena destroyed a few Jack o lanterns in order to use the table they were on. As she was setting it up though, Abadon charged her and drove her into the table. It did not break, so she tried again. And again. Finally on the fourth try, Athena’s body broke the table.

Back in the ring, Abadon and Athena traded punches and shots against the ropes. Both of them needed to figure out how to work around the chain that bound them together. Athena produced a ladder from under the ring and Abadon kicked it back into her face. Abadon set up the ladder in the corner and Athena drilled her with a trash can. It was painted orange, so it was definitely a Halloween Trash Can.

Abadon set Athena up on the ladder in the corner and hit a senton onto her from the top rope, earning a “fight forever” chant from the crowd. Abadon hit a double stomp on the ring apron (the hardest part of the ring!) and pulled a chair on Athena along with a bag of thumbtacks! She spread them on the outside of the ring, but Athena used the opening to hit her with a chair.

Athena hit a side slam off the top rope, but it only got a two count. Athena grabbed a Kendo stick, but the Ref could see that something was amiss. The chain had broken free from Athena’s wrist but before he could fix it, she nailed Abadon with the kendo stick. Then the chain was fixed.

Abadon set up Athena on an overturned staircase on the outside with intent to jump on her from a great height. Athena fought back though and powerbombed Abadon onto the staircase! It looked like it was done, but Abadon kicked out at two.

Athena then tied up Abadon with the chain. In ran Lexy Nair who passed Athena a handful of meat skwewers that she promptly drove into Abadon’s head. Three of them were stuck in her scalp as she rose, a terrified Athena backed up trying to escape, but the chain held her firm. Abadon dragged her to the outside and hit a swinging slam on the thumbtacks.

Athena went to the outside and grabbed a bottle, smashing it over Abadon’s head. She then drove her into a trio of steel chairs with a flip from the top rope. That put Abadon down and Athena got the pin, extending her record-breaking reign as ROH Women’s Champion.

Just as a note, this was a good show. But it was three hours long. That’s too long.

AEW Fright Night Dynamite live results: Tag Team title match

The Tag Team titles are on the line as part of tonight’s AEW Fright Night Dynamite with an added stipulation.

The Young Bucks will defend the gold against Private Party and if Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy don’t win, they will be forced to split up forever.

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland will take on Shelton Benjamin after the former AEW World Champion rejected Benjamin and MVP’s advances regarding joining their faction.

Adam Cole returns to the ring for the first time in over a year following a serious ankle injury as he face House of Black’s Buddy Matthews. Either Cole or Roderick Strong will face MJF at November’ Full Gear if they can win three straight matches.

Kris Statlander continues her march towards a title match by facing TBS Champion Mercedes Mone’s bodyguard Kamille.

As he wrestles with standing up to Jon Moxley’s new-look BCC, Orange Cassidy will make an appearance on the show as will Hangman Page.

**********

AEW Fright Night: Dynamite comes on the air with a video package running down tonight’s card. We then go to backstage footage of the BCC leaving the arena last week where Claudio Castagnoli said 5 years ago Jon Moxley built this place with his own hands and won’t let it be ruined. We hear Orange Cassidy’s voice, who demands they cut the video as he power-walks to the ring.

Orange Cassidy Addresses Jon Moxley

Cassidy said he doesn’t do this, this isn’t who he is, he’s not a leader who comes out and talks for ten minutes. After last week, seeing his best friend, Chuck Taylor, get his neck crushed by a chair, he looked around, surrounded by the people he shouldn’t have been. Those who surrounded him were very young, the future of AEW, who have no idea the danger they are in. They have no idea how dangerous Jon Moxley is, so he knew right then and there what needed to be done. If Moxley has his way, there is no future for AEW, as he’s never needed AEW, but people like Cassidy do. Cassidy, these fans, they don’t exist without AEW. He needs to cut the head off the snake and makes sure no one else gets hurt, he’ll do it alone, to protect everybody. Cassidy will do that, by challenging Moxley for the AEW World Title, taking the symbol of this company, taking it out of Moxley’s bag and putting it in his backpack. Cassidy tells Moxley to let him know, he’s not hard to find, he’s where he is every week, in the ring, because he’s Orange Cassidy, the next AEW World Champion and he still doesn’t need a catchphrase.

-Mercedes Mone & Kamille were walking backstage when they were approached by Renee Paquette, asking for Mone’s prediction for Kamille’s match tonight. Mone scolded Paquette before doing her catchphrase and said just look at Kamille, she’s a brick house. Kris Statlander doesn’t hold a candle to her. Mone again scolded Paquette for wishing Kamille luck, saying she doesn’t need luck when you’re with the CEO.

Adam Cole defeated Buddy Matthews

(I enjoyed the story these two told, as with this being 14 months since Cole’s last match, it made sense to play up that he was gun shy to throw early offense. Once Matthews called Cole out for his toughness, it woke him up to get things going. Of interesting note, lots of fans were cheering for Matthews in this one. It does look like Cole’s next hurdle to MJF has been laid out, as the crowd reacted really strong for the Malakai Black appearance in the post-match.)

Both men shook hands to start, as Matthews backed Cole to the corner after multiple lock ups, demanding Cole bring it. Cole kept going to a headlock, but Matthews easily shrugged him off with shoulder tackles. Matthews dodged a superkick, as Cole seemed to shake out his ankle, as it’s the first time throwing one in well over a year. Cole was backdropped to the apron, but dropped off the apron to avoid a strike and seemed to tweak it a bit. Kyle O’Reilly was shown watching backstage, as Cole was trying to walk it off, when Matthews hit a punt kick from the apron as things went to break.

When things returned, Matthews connecting with a superplex, held on, but Cole countered into a neckbreaker on the knee for the reset. Both to the apron, where Cole planted Matthews with a DDT on the edge of the ring. Cole broke the count and managed a Heatseeker piledriver through the ropes for two. Matthews countered the Panama Sunrise into multiple Dragon Screws to the ankle before stomping on it repeatedly on the steps. Doc Sampson tended to Cole, as referee Bryce was out with him. The crowd actually chanted to ten and Matthews to be the winner, as the doctor went to help Cole to the back. Matthews took the mic and said this is why Cole is fragile, as the old Cole wouldn’t have walked away, the new Cole, is a bitch. Cole shook off the ref and hit the ring for a brawl, which Matthews won, as he continued to stomp the left ankle. Cole struggled to his feet, as he lured Matthews in to take the leg, but it led to multiple superkicks. Cole crumbled once, as Matthews fired off one of his own and a curb stomp for two.

The doctor again tended to Cole, as Matthews threw the towel to Cole, telling him to throw it in and quit. Cole chucked the towel at Matthews, hit another superkick, enzugiri and shining wizard for a close two. Cole again went for the Panama Sunrise, but Matthews hit a pump knee, Buckle Bomb and another curb stomp, but Cole kicked out at one. Cole caught a charging Matthews in the corner with a superkick and finally hit the Panama Sunrise, as Matthews rolled outside, allowing Cole to hit another Sunrise off the apron. Back inside, Cole lowered The Boom for the win.

Post match, Cole took the mic and thanked Matthews for reminding him who the real Adam Cole is. Cole offered a handshake and Matthews accepted until the lights went out. When they came on, Malakai Black was the one shaking hands with Cole, staring him down. Cole slowly backed off as commentary questioned if this was the next step Cole had to take before potentially getting his hands on MJF at Full Gear.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Private Party & Christopher Daniels, who brought up SCU breaking up three years ago being put in this similar position. Daniels said he let Frankie Kazarian down and he’s not even here anymore. Daniels reminds Zay & Quen what they’re risking tonight, as Quen said they’re good, Zay said they’re leaving Cleveland the next AEW Tag Team Champions.

**********

-Adam Cole was being tended to backstage by doctors with The Kingdom standing by his side. Cole said he’s being thrown right into the fire with Matthews and now Malakai Black, but brought up MJF being fake for thinking he & Cole would ever be friends. The idea of Cole & MJF working together would never work. Cole brought up what MJF did to Wardlow, Sammy Guevara & Danny Garcia, so he won’t be the next in line, as MJF needs to be taught another lesson. It might have been extreme what The Undisputed Kingdom did to MJF, but they did it because they care about AEW and the team, which MJF will never be part of. Cole said he’ll get his hands on MJF at Full Gear, then corrected himself and said when we get our hands on MJF. Roderick Strong was actually nodding along behind Cole, despite also wanting to face MJF.

Kyle Fletcher & Don Callis Call Out Will Ospreay

Fletcher & Callis come to the stage to loud boos, as Callis said Fletcher has something important to say. Fletcher is calling out Will Ospreay, pointing to the tunnel, but he never came out. Fletcher said he’s just as disappointed as all the fans, when he was cut off by the Aussie Open music. Mark Davis walked out from the babyface tunnel and Fletcher wasn’t expecting it, but went in for a hug, which Davis turned down. Davis said he wish he could say the same thing, but Fletcher knows Ospreay is at home because of what Fletcher did. Davis doesn’t know who he’s even looking at. Fletcher said what’s happened since Davis has been away was Callis has opened his eyes to realizing Ospreay never cared about either of them. Davis should forget about Ospreay, since Ospreay forgot about Davis. Fletcher says he made sure Davis will always have a spot in The Family. Davis said they had an Empire, but Fletcher destroyed it. Davis walked off, but Fletcher said a day will come soon where Davis will have to make a hard decision, as he’s shown he has no issue cutting problems loose.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Hangman Adam Page, who said in July, Jay White entered the Owen Hart Tournament in hopes of an AEW World Title match. It wasn’t Christian Cage who cost White the match and three months on the shelf, it was Page. Their record in their series of matches in their career is 4-1 and said there’s no such thing as redemption, not for White, not for Page, there’s only wins and losses and consequences that follow. Page knows White will go for his bad leg, but White won’t know Page’s. Will he hit him with a steel chair, will he choke out his friends as he watches, will he burn down White’s house? Page is certain at the end of Full Gear, when he beats White, he’ll leave him like many others who have stood in his way, hurt, with less than you’ve had before. He will leave Jay White behind. I thought this was a great promo from Page.

-We see Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shaffir & Jon Moxley walking backstage and we’re told are on the move.

**********

Jon Moxley & Crew Answer Orange Cassidy

Moxley & Shaffir, who is holding the briefcase presumably containing the AEW World Title, are joined up by Yuta, PAC & Castagnoli, as they make their official entrance through the crowd. Commentary told us Chuck Taylor is recuperating at home following the attack last week, as Tony Schiavone said he was still in the hospital on Saturday.

Moxley doesn’t expect Orange Cassidy or anyone else to appreciate what they’re doing, but one day, they’ll understand. Cassidy thinks he challenged Moxley when it was the other way around. What Moxley did to Chuck Taylor was cutting off some distraction, so Cassidy can focus on his goals. They realized Cassidy was their guy, they don’t want Cassidy to catch the disease that so many in AEW have, they have a fat paycheck and content with where they are. Moxley continues to push Cassidy, who has yet to walk through the valley yet. Moxley said when it happens, Cassidy won’t fight him on the mountain top, they’ll fight in the valley, where Cassidy better be willing to die in, as this ring, Moxley is prepared to. Cassidy thinks he’s pulling the strings, but let’s see about that right now.

Moxley whispered to Castagnoli, as PAC & Shaffir hold down Yuta, as Castagnoli gets a chair and places it around his neck. Cassidy sprinted to the ring and immediately was beaten down. Shaffir took Yuta to the corner, slapped him and told him to go after Cassidy and he did, putting the boots to Cassidy until Dark Order hit the ring and were immediately beaten down by Moxley & crew. Yuta took out Evil Uno with a chair, Alex Reynolds by Castagnoli and Silver by Moxley. They placed a chair around the throat of Cassidy ringside, when Darby Allin repelled down from the ceiling. Allin started brawling with Castagnoli going through the announce table, all while still being harnessed, so Reynolds made the save, helping free him. The brawl started, as Top Flight, Lio Rush, Private Party, Daniel Garcia all hit the ring and the numbers game is finally against the BCC. Castagnoli & PAC brawled through the crowd with everyone, as Shaffir & Moxley bailed. Private Party was left alone in the ring as The Young Bucks’ music hit and they had their entrance, coming out when the coast was clear, taking credit for running Moxley and crew off.

Private Party (Zay & Quen) defeated The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) to win the AEW Tag Team Titles

(Excellent match, as the story of Private Party’s backs against the wall and having to defy all the odds was told very well. The crowd was loudly behind Zay & Quen from the start and only got louder as the match progressed. I was split prior to this match on which direction they should go, as I didn’t think the overall build for Private Party was all that great, but ultimately, I think they made the right call for the time being, as the Tag Team division has needed a shot in the arm for such a long time. The Bucks don’t need the belts and having a young team like Zay & Quen could lead to more title defenses.)

Nicholas & Zay kick things off quick with a series of pin attempts before a stare down, with Zay not backing down. Blind tag from Matthew, as they hit a pop-up assisted dropkick to gain control. Quen managed a tag, as a double hurricanrana sent The Bucks outside, as Zay launched off Quen’s back for a massive dive on both. Back inside, Nicholas sent Quen over the top to the floor, as he ran distraction on referee Rick Knox, allowing Matthew to grab the ring bell. Quen managed to rip the bell away, went for a shot, but Matthew ducked and Quen smacked Zay instead. Zay came up bleeding, as Nicholas hit a Falcon Arrow off the steps, while Quen ate a superplex from Matthew for two as things went to break.

The Bucks controlled the entire commercial, as right when things returned, Quen made the hot tag to a bloody Zay, who ran wild. Pop-up double dropkick connected, as Quen & Zay fired off double superkicks before going up top for stereo 450 splashes for two. Poetry in Motion hit once, but while going for the second, Nicholas countered into a Destroyer in mid-air followed by an assisted Sliced Bread and double stomp Pendulum Powerbomb for two. Quen sent outside, as Matthew bit at the forehead of Zay before The Bucks hit Risky Business for another near fall.

Nicholas low bridged by Quen, who hit a springboard moonsault followed by a suicide dive on Matthew and another somersault dive back to Nicholas. Quen took too long to follow as a Doomsday Device punt kick flattened him. The Bucks dragged Quen up the ramp, as referee Knox brought The Bucks back to the ring. This distraction allowed Kazuchika Okada to appear and hit a Tombstone on Quen before bailing. Powerbomb/enzugiri combo on Zay back inside, as Nicholas hits a springboard hurricanrana into a Matthew cutter, which was a Gin n’ Juice variation that Excalibur called Milk n’ Cookies. The Bucks pumped up the shoes, as Zay ate a Superkick Party, but kicked out.

The Bucks called for the EVP Trigger, but Zay collapsed before it happened. They went for it again, but Zay ducked, The Bucks collided knees and he got a small package for two. Zay fought off a TK Driver, but was ultimately caught with the EVP Trigger, only for two, as the crowd went nuts. Nicholas connected on a V-Trigger, as Matthew hit One Winged Angel, but Quen flew in to break the count. Nicholas was crotched on the top, as Matthew was sent outside, allowing Zay & Quen to hit Gin n’ Juice and win the titles.

Post match, The Bucks have the Tag Team titles and hand them to Zay & Quen, showing sportsmanship before leaving. Private Party leap into the crowd to celebrate as The Bucks left dejected.

-We’re told Jon Moxley vs. Orange Cassidy for the AEW World Title is official for Full Gear.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Jamie Hayter & Penelope Ford, who said everyone seems to have forgotten who she is, including Hayter. Ford has gone through glass, barbed wire, skewers in her head, so she’s going to take what Hayter took from her. Hayter said Ford is lucky, next week, she’s going to mop the floor with Ford.

-Tale of the Tape is shown ahead of Swerve Strickland & Shelton Benjamin ahead of their main event tonight.

The Learning Tree Talk Ring of Honor

Footage of Ladder War last week was shown and Chris Jericho defeating Mark Briscoe for the ROH Title was shown. We then go to the stage where The Learning Tree are standing by. Big Bill said teamwork makes the dream work, only if the team works together. Jericho brings up the Wrestling Observer Newsletter saying his match last week will be remembered for a long time and Dave Meltzer giving it 4 stars. Jericho thanked Briscoe for helping him fulfil his prophecy of becoming The Nueve, then mistakenly calls Cleveland ‘Cincinatti’ before bringing up Terrifier 3 again. Jericho said with all due respect to Jon Moxley, AEW made it what it is and will do the same with ROH. He’ll do that because he can and not to underestimate Chris Jericho, which Bryan Keith repeats and calls everyone dumbasses. Jericho said he’ll take ROH to places they’ve never been before.

-Video package for Anna Jay & Mariah May is shown ahead of their AEW World Title match on Collision this week. This was a good showcase of Jay going to Japan to get more experience, while Mariah May, who has already been a star in Japan, was less than impressed.

-Alex Marvez was trying to get a word with The Young Bucks when Jack Perry runs him off. Daniel Garcia shows up and asks where Perry was at during the match, knowing he’ll lose his title next. Perry looked to bully Garcia, who slammed Perry against the wall, but Perry tried to fire back at him saying the crowd used to dance for him, too, smirking at Garcia, who stormed off.

Perry then walked into The Elite locker room where Brandon Cutler was helping The Young Bucks and Okada shred documents as Matthew told them they have to go and Perry slammed the door shut.

Kris Statlander defeated Kamille (w/Mercedes Mone)

(Rather quick match between these two, as a lot happened during commercial. After the struggle last week, it was probably for the best to keep this short, as it already looks like Kamille & Mone are on the rocks. Statlander is obviously next in line for the TBS Title, so she needed to look rather dominant here and she did.)

Power advantage is anyone’s game here and very even, but it’s Kamille with the early shoulder tackle. Statlander popped right up as Kamille was posing and took her down before a stalemate. Kamille low bridged, but hung up Statlander on the top before hitting a lariat, taking control into commercial.

Back from break, Statlander hit a snap powerslam to get the crowd into it, as she side stepped a Kamille pump kick and hit a F5 for two. Statlander missed a 450 Splash, allowing Kamille to hit the Rough Ryder for two of her own. Torture Rack spin into the powerbomb connected, but Statlander kicked out. Kamille wanted a Tombstone, but Statlander reversed it into Wednesday Night Fever for the win.

Post match, Mone attacked Statlander with the TBS Title from behind and took the mic, ordering Kamille to the back. Mone said when you want something done right, you do it yourself, as she held the TBS Title up to the face of Statlander, who was motionless.

-Video package of the recent history between The Patriarchy, Kip Sabian & HOOK was shown. Backstage, Christian Cage offers an olive branch to HOOK next week, so Cage can explain himself for his actions.

**********

-Renee Paquette is backstage with The Conglomeration, as Mark Briscoe said the ROH World Title means a whole lot to him. The word of the day in instability, as Chris Jericho has none of that, after letting Jay Briscoe’s name come out of his mouth for the last time. Briscoe said they have three of them, three of The Learning Tree and issues a six-man tag Fight Without Honor next week.

-The Young Bucks are leaving the arena as Christopher Daniels runs up asking why they’re turning their backs on them when they need them the most. Matthew said no one wanted to listen to them, so they’ll be working from home. The Bucks drive off, as Brandon Cutler stumbles back with a box of shoes, they left without him. Moxley, PAC, Castagnoli, Yuta & Shaffir all appear, knock the shoes out of his hands and Daniels is held back by Moxley, as Cutler’s hand is placed on a truck and smashed with a hammer by Castagnoli. Moxley asks Daniels where his boys are going, things were just getting good. Moxley walks off with Shaffir & Yuta as Daniels yells for doctors. I thought this was a great segment that planted seeds for The Elite wanting to hopefully come back and fight for their company down the line.

Swerve Strickland (w/Prince Nana) defeated Shelton Benjamin (w/MVP)

(I had to look up to see if these two ever wrestled prior to this and only once in 2017 in Waterloo, Iowa. You would’ve thought these two had many matches together with how well they worked with one another. Benjamin had been built up well since being in AEW and was a good opponent for Strickland in his return. The post-match was the bigger story, as the anticipated debut of Bobby Lashley set the stage for Strickland’s next story. He & Nana are going to need some help to battle The Hurt Syndicate, I wonder who will step up to be in this storyline?)

Benjamin wrestled Strickland to the mat early, as we see MVP going over to Prince Nana and whispering something to him, as Strickland hit a head scissors into the stalemate. Spinning belly to belly overhead suplex sent Strickland flying to the floor, as Benjamin tried to post him, but Strickland escaped and locked in an arm bar using the post. Benjamin recovered and sent Strickland from apron to the guardrail repeatedly before slamming Strickland down back in the ring. Strickland side stepped a corner charge, hit a Tiger Feint Kick, but as he tried a springboard, Benjamin caught a big step-up knee as things went to break.

It was all Benjamin with the power game during commercial, as Strickland battled back with his corkscrew kick to reset the match. The crowd was loudly behind Strickland, who hit the leaping uppercut from the corner before a pump kick on the apron dropped Benjamin. Back inside, missile dropkick connects for a near fall. Strickland tried his rolling Flatliner, but Benjamin caught him mid-move and spiked him with a DDT for two. Both men slowly rose to a stare down, traded kicks at the same time with Benjamin crumbling and Strickland hitting the House Call and 450 Splash for a close two. The kick-out led Benjamin to a waist lock and he hit a release German suplex and step-up corner knee, but a desperation rolling Flatliner answer from Strickland led to a double down with the crowd cheering loudly. Strickalnd went to the top, but Benjamin leapt to meet him, only for Strickland to slide out and hit a Liger Bomb. This led to a Swerve Stomp and the victory for Strickland.

Post match, MVP was on his phone and made a call, saying to whoever is on the other end that he needs them here now. The lights went out for a brief second before a drumroll was played and Bobby Lashley walks to the stage to a big reaction. Lashley walks down and gives MVP a hug as Excalibur puts over immediately how Lashley could easily make claim to the title. Lashley & Strickland are face-to-face as Holy Sh*t chants echo through the crowd. Benjamin popped up on the apron, distracting Strickland enough for Lashley to hit a clothesline and major spinebuster, all while MVP & Benjamin put the boots to Nana. Benjamin hit a big boot on Nana while Lashley locked in a Full Nelson on Strickland. Hilariously you can hear someone yell 90 seconds and 45 for the countdown til off air. Referees and security run down with the security getting their asses royally handed to them. MVP took the mic and asked “guess whose back in business?” to end the show standing over the fallen Strickland & Nana. The Hurt Syndicate has officially arrived as a collective group in AEW.

WWE NXT live results: Fallout from Halloween Havoc

WWE NXT’s fallout from Halloween Havoc airs live on The CW Network tonight.

Zaria — the Australian wrestler formerly known as Delta — will make her NXT in-ring debut. She laid out Fatal Influence at Halloween Havoc and looks to have her eyes on taking the Women’s North American title from new champion Fallon Henley.

The first-ever women’s casket match in WWE history will take place tonight as Tatum Paxley battles Wendy Choo.

A pair of title matches are also scheduled. Je’Von Evans & Cedric Alexander are challenging Nathan Frazer & Axiom for the NXT Tag Team title belts. The Heritage Cup will be up for grabs with Charlie Dempsey defending against Lexis King — who will have Dempsey’s father William Regal in his corner.

Tonight’s show will also continue the build to next Wednesday’s NXT episode that’s being held at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia. It looks like NXT Champion Trick Williams will be teaming with Bubba Ray Dudley in Philly after Bubba Ray saved him from an attack by Ethan Page and Ridge Holland at Halloween Havoc.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

NXT begins with a recap of Halloween Havoc, but that is wiped away on the screen to reveal Tatum Paxley pushing a casket. She says the highlights will have to wait. Now is time for the “first ever” women’s casket match.

After Paxley pushes the casket to ringside, out comes Wendy Choo pulling a bed frame to ringside. The fight is on and the opening match is underway.

Tatum Paxley defeated Wendy Choo in a casket match

Paxley won by putting Choo in the casket and closing the lid. The beat the heck out of each other in a brawl. Helluva opener. Lots of weapons and big bumps. Audio on television was muted at times, presumably because of the obscene “holy s***” chants.

Other gimmicks are used besides the casket itself, like trash cans, broom sticks, and other plunder. There is also a pillow in the ring, which would play into a later spot. They did more spots with the trash can in the first half of the match, before the first commercial break of the show. Choo stuffs Paxley into a trash can, and then Choo dropkicks the can just before the show cuts to the break. Before that, Choo was had the can stuffed over her head, but she is standing tall with a sinister smile as the show goes to break.

As they return from the commercial break, Paxley takes a hip toss and crashes through a later dollhouse. After the dollhouse is shattered, Choo goes to put Paxley in the casket. But Choo’s pillow is in the way of the casket door closing. Choo then bashes Paxley with the pillow, and Choo reveals the pillow was loaded with a pile of Legos. Paxley takes a full nelson slam on the pile of Legos. From there, the show cut to a split-screen where Williams Regal was talking in a locker room with Lexis King. Meanwhile, the crazy bumps continued in the ring.

Choo leaps off the apron with a flying elbow drop into the casket. The lid shuts on them both, and when it opens again they both do a the Undertaker sit-up gimmick, and they glare at each other. Setting up the finish, Choo is trying to choke out Paxley on top of the casket. Paxley escapes, grabs a fire extinguisher, and she shoots Choo with the fire extinguisher. Choo flails around and takes a Nestea Plunge through the bed frame, which she had wheeled to ring earlier in the match. Paxley drags Choo off the broken bed, and Paxley puts Choo in the casket and shuts the lid.

Highlights of Halloween Havoc are featured in a video package.

NXT Champion Trick Williams is in the ring after a commercial break. He works the crowd and boasts about defending the title against Ethan Page at Halloween Havoc. Williams mentions that he was also jumped by Ridge Holland, and that Bubba Ray Dudley made a save. So, Trick brings out Bubba to join him in the ring.

Trick thanks Bubba, and Bubba says he doesn’t need the thanks. Bubba was doing the right thing, and that was because of disrespect by Holland to Bubba and his radio show. Bubba puts over Trick, spurring the live studio audience to chant “whoop that trick.” Bubba talks about no one coming to aid Trick when he was getting jumped. Bubba says that is due to Trick being the NXT Champion. Bubba give Trick advice to have eyes in the back of his head.

Trick says he knows Bubba wants revenge on Holland. Trick says he wants Bubba to team up with him for a tag team match against Holland and Page. Bubba says that got his “juices flowing” for a moment. Bubba gets the studio audience to do the “get the tables” spot. However, Bubba eventually turns down the offer. He does not want to take anyone’s spot on the roster. Bubba leaves the ring as the crowd chants “you still got it” at him.

Cut to the office of NXT General Manager Ava. Alongside her is Rob Van Dam making a cameo appearance. RVD announces he is booked for the 2300 Arena show.

Lexis King is accompanied to the ring by William Regal as the show cuts to a commercial break.

NXT Heritage Champion Charlie Dempsey (with Myles Borne, Wren Sinclair & Tavion Heights) defeated Lexis King (with William Regal) to retain the trophy cup

Dempsey retains after scoring pinfalls in the first and third rounds. Regal tries to slid a pair of brass knux to King, but King refused to cheat.

Dempsey wins the first round with a pinfall, after a butterfly suplex and a bridge. No falls scored in round two, but King falls off the apron and clutches his knee. The show cuts to a commercial break with King down selling big. Under 30 seconds in round two as the show returns from the break, and King has fired up into a comeback. Dempsey is saved by the bell.

In between rounds, footage from the break shows King being put in a knee brace. He rips off the brace and vows to continue the match. The fiery comeback is soon snuffed out by Dempsey, and Dempsey goes on to target the injured knee. Dempsey works the knee.

Dempsey tries to fight back, but his knee buckles. He is down near the ropes by Regal, who tries to slide a pair of brass knux to King. “I am not my father,” King screams at Regal. Dempsey sneaks behind and executes a German suplex with a bridge for the deciding pinfall.

Zaria defeated Brinley Reece

Zaria pinned Reece after an F5. Zaria had a great special entrance, and she went on to have a dominate win. Reece briefly got some offense before they went home, but it was mostly Zaria looking like a killer.

In the match, they did a spot where Reece sold like her arm was dislocated. Zaria kicks the arm back into place, and the beating continues. After Zaria pins Reece, a post-match angle sets up a ten-woman tag team match for next Wednesday at the ECW Arena.

Newly-crowned NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley leads Fatal Influence through the studio audience. Henley cuts a promo about wanting revenge for Zaria ruining Fatal Influence’s moment last Sunday at Halloween Havoc.

Interrupting the interruption, out comes NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez alongside Cora Jade. They want to “introduce” Zaria to the NXT women’s division.

Kelani Jordan runs down to stand beside Zaria as they are surrounded by heels. Henley smirks and says that is only two. Running out to join the babyface side is Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia, but the odds are still five-on-four.

Sirens blare for the entrance of Jordynne Grace. She joins the babyface side, they face off with the heels. They run at each other like heels and faces on the intro to the old school X-Men animated show. A big brawl erupts, and the babyfaces send the heels packing. A ten-woman tag match is made official after a commercial break.

Nikkita Lyons defeated Kelani Jordan

Jordan pinned Lyons, thanks in part to a distraction by Adrianna Rizzo. Lyons is distracted and there is nobody home on a Vader Bomb. Jordan comes back to execute a split-legged moonsault, and Jordan scores the pinfall.

Rizzo attacks Lyons in a post-match angle, and Lyons flees the ring. Jordan assists Rizzo with a dive over the ropes on Lyons. The brawling continues, clearly setting up a singles match between Rizzo and Lyons.

Ethan Page is headed to the ring for a talking segment. Page begins a promo saying he is not finished with the NXT Championship. Page is quickly interrupted by Ridge Holland, who cuts a promo on Page. Holland says people are tired of Page getting title shots. Holland vows to be the next NXT champ.

Holland mentions Bubba Ray, or rather “Bully Ray” as Holland called him. Holland goes on to say Bubba made the best decision of his life by not accepting Trick’s offer from earlier in the show. That brings out Bubba Ray Dudley to confront Holland. Bubba at first puts over Holland, before Bubba asks Holland if he knows who Bubba is. Bubba is one-half of the greatest tag team on God’s green earth. Bubba continues his promo.

Holland responds by saying he does not care what Bubba has to say, as Bubba is not an active competitor anymore. Bubba is a radio host that sits behind a microphone. He does not live in Dudleyville anymore. Holland goes on bury ECW, calling it overrated instead of extreme. Holland threatens Bubba, and Bubba decks Holland with a punch. Page then jumps Bubba, and the two heels are beating down Bubba.

Trick runs in to make a save. He and Bubba clean house and clear the ring. Bubba then accepts Trick’s offer to team up for a tag match. Later, the match is made official. So, Bubba teaming with Trick against Holland and Page is set for the 2300 Arena next Wednesday.

Jaida Parker is the focus of a vignette, which hypes Parker’s street fight against Lola Vice next Wednesday.

Rhea Ripley appears in a cameo appearance, and she is attacked in a angle later on. Ripley comes into the women’s locker room to give the babyface team (in the 10-woman tag at 2300 Areana) a pep talk.

After a commercial break, Ripley is seen in the aftermath of an attack. Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio are leaving the scene as referees rush to aid Ripley, with Morgan even toting a baseball bat. Ripley is a bloody mess as she lay near her car. The show cuts to a commercial break with Ripley bleeding from the mouth.

NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom defeated Cedric Alexander & Je’Von Evans to retain the titles

Axiom pinned Alexander to win the match, after Alexander was left alone to face the champs two-on-one. Evans left the match to brawl with Wes Lee. That would later lead to another RVD cameo. The champ retain here, but they were sort of an afterthought after the closing angle.

They all had a really good match, and the match itself goes through a commercial break. So, they were given plenty of time.

Alexander and Evans are getting to shine as the show cuts to its final commercial break. That match and high spots continue after the break. Evans gets a big save by breaking up a near fall with a RKO out of nowhere. Evans earlier got a close near fall off the springboard cutter.

Wes Lee enters the sound stage carrying a metal folding chair. This distracts Evans, and he leaps out of the ring to fight with Lee at ringside. Lee and Evans fight their way up the ramp as they exit the sound stage. That left Alexander alone against the champions. Alexander with final surge of momentum, and he fires up. Alexander with a Michinoku Driver for a close near fall. Alexander then climbs the turnbuckles, but he is superplexed instead. Frazier and Axiom then execute Chasing the Dragon, and Axiom covers Alexander for a pinfall.

TO THE BACK! Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans are brawling backstage. They are separated as Ava gets between them. RVD comes in and says this gives me a fantastic idea, and RVD says he will see them next Wednesday without releasing the idea. Lee and Evans then tie up again in a brawl as the show goes off air.

Show Recap —

Judgment Day and Seth Rollins were shown arriving at the arena (separately). There was a video package recapping Bron Breakker beating Jey Uso for the IC title and Jey’s appearance on Smackdown leading to Motor City Machine Guns beating the Bloodline for the tag titles and his reunion with Jimmy Uso.

Jey and Jimmy Uso segment

Jey Uso entered to start the show. (After the long video and Jey’s entrance, it was 8:09 pm by the time he spoke.)

Jey said it’s been a long week. He lost his Intercontinental title, had some Bloodline drama, and got his retaliation on Smackdown by costing them the tag titles. There was only one Uce he wanted to hear from now.

Jimmy Uso entered. Jimmy thanked him for what he did on Smackdown. They needed to be together to take down Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline because they weren’t The Ones. Jey said they weren’t the ones either. (The crowd gasped.) The last time they saw each other was half a year ago at WrestleMania—fighting each other.

A lot has happened since then. People don’t get them confused anymore. Jey won the IC title on his own. But none of the titles topped being Jimmy’s twin brother. Jimmy went for a hug but Jey stopped him. He said they still need to fix stuff. This time around, if they got back together, they were nobody’s yes men or side pieces. They do it together as the Usos.

Jimmy told Jey that Roman Reigns would be at Smackdown on Friday. Jimmy invited Jey to Smackdown to squash their beef. Jey said he would be there.

Before they could shake on it, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu hit the ring to attack them as Sikoa watched from ringside. Fatu tried a running hip attack to Jey with a chair (the same thing that took out Jimmy) but Jey chucked the chair at him. The Usos cleared the ring with superkicks.

Adam Pearce and officials backed the Bloodline up the aisle.

********

An angry Adam Pearce was on the phone with Nick Aldis, berating him for allowing the Bloodline to appear on Raw because they only agreed to Jimmy being there. Pearce told him to control his damn roster.

Judgment Day showed up. Pearce was low on patience so he quickly informed Dominik Mysterio that he would face Damian Priest tonight. Carlito said that wasn’t cool. Pearce left.

Dom wasn’t worried because he knew Priest’s tricks. Finn Bálor tried to warn him that Priest was called punishment for a reason. Dom urged them to believe in him and told them he can become world champion. He planned on going out there alone to prove it. They all got behind him except for Bálor, who looked annoyed that Dom didn’t listen to him. Bálor left.

********

Sheamus defeated Ludwig Kaiser (9:48)

After a break, Sheamus hit ten beats of the Bodhrán and a flying clothesline for two. Kaiser followed with a powerbomb and knee strike for two. They exchanged strikes until Sheamus hit a knee strike and Brogue Kick for the pinfall win. This was fine.

********

There was a Rhea Ripley video promo on Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. She admitted to making mistakes in the past (betraying them) but they deserved the beatings they got from her. Now it was only about winning the world title and they would have to kill her to stop her.

********

The Usos bumped into Sami Zayn backstage. Zayn and Jey shook hands. Zayn wanted to speak with Jey—alone. Jimmy and Zayn got face-to-face before Jey asked Jimmy to leave. He did. Zayn asked Jey if everything was suddenly cool now with Jimmy and Roman. Jey said Sikoa might be worse than Reigns.

Zayn said Sikoa wasn’t the one who mentally got in Jey’s head for years and made him jump through hoops to prove himself to his own family. Zayn said Jey didn’t have to choose between the lesser of two evils, he didn’t have to get involved at all. Zayn didn’t understand any of it. Jey said Zayn didn’t understand because he wasn’t family. Jey left.

********

There was a Gunther video promo. He called Cody Rhodes a gutless champion. Rhodes dragged another close friend into his business, this time Randy Orton. Gunther suggested Rhodes pull Orton aside and ask him what it felt like to be choked out by him because Rhodes would be next. Rhodes would wake up and finally realize he was the secondary champion.

********

Ivy Nile (w/The Creed Brothers) defeated Zelina Vega (w/Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) (6:34)

Vega hit a dive and they went to break 50 seconds into the match. Vega hit (missed) a moonsault for two. Brutus Creed distracted the referee while Julius prevented Vega from hitting a Code Red. Del Toro and Wilde went after the Creeds but the Creeds easily laid them out. Nile hit Vega with a spinning uranage for the pinfall win. This was no good.

********

Jimmy asked Jey how his chat went with Zayn. Jey said he told Zayn he wasn’t family. Jimmy dismissively said, “Well, he’s not.” Jey stood up for Zayn and said he stepped up when Jimmy left. Jimmy could tell Jey was bothered so he wanted to talk to Zayn. Jey didn’t like that idea because he figured something bad would happen. Jimmy said he just wanted to talk.

[SECOND HOUR]

Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed segment

Rollins entered. He was on the hunt for a monster. “Make no mistake about it, Bronson Reed is a monster—but so am I.” That was a side of Rollins that he put to bed a long time ago. He forgot about that side of him but Reed woke something up in his soul. Reed reminded him what he was capable of. “I gotta be honest with you, Hershey. I kinda like it.”

Reed appeared on the big screen. Reed promised Pearce that they wouldn’t have a repeat of last week and cause chaos in the arena. However, if Rolins wanted to hunt a monster, he was waiting in the parking lot.

Rollins left the ring and found Reed in the parking lot. They chucked aside some security guards before Reed tossed Rollins onto a car. There was a semi-truck nearby and Rollins slammed the trailer door in Reed’s face before giving him a curb stomp onto the hood of the car.

Rollins began cutting a promo to the camera but stopped upon realizing Reed was back on his feet. Rollins superkicked Reed and hit him on the head with a wooden crate. Rollins went inside the trailer but Reed chucked a trash can right in his face. Reed grabbed Rollins and gave him a DVD off the trailer floor through some tables.

The crowd chanted, “Holy sh-t,” as officials checked on Rollins. Reed backed away on his own.

(I didn’t like Rollins’ promo but the brawl was good. I guess we’ll have to see that other side of Rollins another day.)

********

R-Truth approached Alpha Academy. He said they look a lot better without the short ugly guy who screamed at them all the time. Otis asked, “Master Gable?” and Truth responded, “You can’t say that on TV.”

Miz approached and apologized to Truth. He didn’t know what got into him. They were former tag champions and family. Miz needed family now more than ever. Maxxine Dupri told Truth not to listen to him. Miz responded, “Yeah, don’t listen to a former champion, listen to Snow White and the two dorks.”

Truth stopped Otis and Akira Tozawa from killing Miz. Truth said it was between him and Miz. Truth shook Miz’s hand before punching him in the face. Truth leaned in and said, “Good luck with the Wyatts. Y’all gonna die!” The crowd laughed. Truth walked away, saw Pete Dunne nearby and said, “What’s up Butch, you seen Pete?”

********

Triple threat tag match: The War Raiders defeated Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee and The New Day to become number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles (17:35)

There was a moment where Rey went to tag Dragon Lee but Woods knocked Dragon off the apron. The crowd lightly booed but, as he explained, he was just trying to win the match. Kingston tagged in and gave Ivar and Rey a leg drop before giving Rey an SOS. Everyone traded moves until Kingston wiped out everyone with a trust fall dive. This led to their second commercial break in nine minutes.

Dragon Lee tagged in and gave Kingston a double foot stomp and a DDT to Ivar. Rey brought Ivar off the ropes with a hurricanrana while Dragon Lee gave Kingston a sit-out powerbomb. Lee covered Kingston but Woods broke up the cover.

Kingston gave Lee a backbreaker and set up for their double-team finisher. Woods went to the top but dropped back down upon seeing Rey enter the ring. Kingston was confused as Woods went after Rey but Rey dropped the ropes and Woods fell out of the ring.

Rey went for 619 on Kingston but Chad Gable suddenly appeared and yanked Rey out of the ring. Gable put Rey in an ankle lock and he couldn’t escape.

Ivar and Erik hit Kingston with a combo German suplex/springboard clothesline for the pinfall win. The War Raiders are now number one contenders for the world tag titles (held by Bálor and JD McDonagh).

This match was ok. The crowd was fairly quiet as they have been most of the night.

********

Miz complained to Pearce in the back until he was approached by Karrion Kross, along with Scarlett and AOP (no Paul Ellering). Kross wanted Miz to help them find Bo Dallas tonight. Miz didn’t like that idea. Kross said he would help or else Kross would break his legs. (The crowd lightly chanted, “Break his legs.”)

********

Jimmy walked toward the exit. As he walked out of the arena, he saw Zayn speaking to Sikoa in the parking lot (Sikoa was in the passenger seat of an SUV while Zayn stood outside).

Jey approached and asked if he had spoken to Zayn. Jimmy pointed out the conversation that was happening between Zayn and Sikoa. They both seemed surprised but Jimmy told Jey they needed to do this with just themselves and Roman. Jey said, “Yeet.” (He agreed.)

Dominik Mysterio defeated Damian Priest (8:58)

Dom hit a suicide dive ahead of a break. He tried three amigos but Priest countered the last one into a falcon arrow. Priest followed with a flatliner for two. Dom escaped the ring so Priest tackled him over the announce table.

Morgan and Rodriguez ran down and distracted the referee while McDonagh and Carlito attacked Priest. Priest fought them off and attacked them with a chair. The ref yelled at Priest for defending himself against Carlito who was in the ring. With Priest distracted, Dom caught him in a schoolboy while holding the tights for the surprise win.

— Dom tried to bail but Priest hit him with Razor’s Edge. Priest was about to leave, but after hearing Lilian Garcia announce Dom as the winner, Priest returned to the ring and attacked him repeatedly with the chair.

Carlito tried to save Dom but Priest chokeslammed them both. The rest of Judgment Day (minus Bálor, who did not appear) helped Dom out of the ring. Dom was barely moving but managed to raise his hand in victory. Priest sarcastically applauded the “winner.”

(Last week on Raw there were four matches and all four ended as a result of a distraction or interference. There were four matches on tonight’s show and three ended as a result of distraction or interference.)

WWE NXT Halloween Havoc live results: Trick Williams vs. Ethan Page

The feud between NXT Champion Trick Williams and Ethan Page will continue on tonight’s WWE NXT Halloween Havoc from Hershey, Pennsylvania, in a Devil’s Playground match.

The two have feuded since June with Williams defeating Page earlier this month to kick off his second reign. The match stipulation is expected to be that of the hardcore variety.

The NXT men’s North American title will also be on the line as Tony D’Angelo defends against former champion Oba Femi in a Tables, Ladders & Scares match.

NXT women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan will take one member of Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne or Jazmyn Nyx) in a to-be-announced stipulation by the heel group.

Two of the most notable new talents on the NXT scene — Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer — will team up against NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade.

Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland in an ambulance match rounds out the main card on Peacock/WWE Network.

**********

– Halfway through the Kickoff, Ava was with the members of Fatal Influence and Kelani Jordan as the group was asked by the NXT GM to pick Jordan’s opponent. Fallon Henley suggested that the Women’s North American Champion face the group in a Gauntlet Match.

– Just before the show began, we checked in with Bubba Ray Dudley and Dave LaGreca of Busted Open Radio from inside the Giant Center as they discussed Trick Williams vs. Ethan Page for the NXT Championship. As the two began discussing the Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland Ambulance Match, Holland confronted LaGreca and Bubba and argued with the two. Holland threatened to go after Bubba for predicting a Chase victory and showing disapproval for his attacks against Chase U.

**********

– We began the night with shots of various wrestlers arriving, the cold open featuring Gigi Dolin highlighting the big matches of tonight’s event was then shown.

Tables Ladders and “Scares” Match (North American Championship): Tony D’Angelo defeated Oba Femi

The action started off hot at ringside with D’Angelo spearing Femi through the barricade. He then began pulling ladders from under the ring, setting a large one as a bridge between the ring and the table. Femi regained control and threw a multitude of chairs into the ring.

Femi chokeslammed D’Angelo onto a chair for a two-count. With a ladder set against the corner, Femi continued the chair assault on D’Angelo. He threw the Champ into the ladder leaned against the corner before trapping D’Angelo in the corner with the ladder.

At ringside, Femi maintained his ruthless attack on D’Angelo, then throwing him through a table in the ring with a running uppercut. That only got a two.

Femi took D’Angelo’s tire iron and smashed him with it before locking in a hold using the weapon. Femi continued to work over the North American Champion with the tire iron.

D’Angelo powered out of a Femi powerbomb attempt to toss the challenger overhead. The fans were going wild.

Femi regained advantaged and trapped D’Angelo in the corner with zipties. The Family attempted to run interference, but were laid out. Femi then tried to go after Adrianna Rizzo, but this gave D’Angelo enough time to escape and spear Femi onto the ladder bridge.

The finish saw The Family recover and attack Femi with a Shatter Machine as D’Angelo finished things off with a slam through the table for the pin and win.

**********

(This was a fun opener and I enjoyed the finish of The Family getting payback on Femi for his attacks on them.)

– Sarah Schreiber interviewed Lexis King backstage when William Regal confronted King.

Tag Team Match: Stephanie Vaquer & Giulia defeated Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez

Vaquer and Perez started the match, with the former showing off her strength early on. Vaquer countered a Perez pin and slammed her head repeatedly with a headscissore style move. Giulia was tagged in and the international stars showed great chemistry with some nice double team moves.

Giulia trapped Perez in an STF as Vaquer intercepted Jade and also locked in an STF, but they couldn’t get the tapout. Giulia soared through the sky with an amazing dropkick on Perez. The NXT Women’s Champ took control as she tagged in Jade.

The heel duo maintained the advantage as Jade had Giulia locked in a resthold. The action picked up with the hot tag as Vaquer was a house of fire. Vaquer escaped Perez’s crossface, but couldn’t get out of the avalanche poisonrana. Tag to Jade, followed by the diving senton. Giulia broke the count as things descended to chaos.

Giulia tagged back in, but Jade and Perez attempted a double team move. Giulia escaped and tagged Vaquer. In the melee, Giulia flattened Jade with a knee. Suplex by Giulia is followed by a Phoenix Splash from Vaquer who got the 1, 2, 3.

– After the match, the lights shut off to reveal Zaria watching from the crowd. She stared down both teams intensely before the segment ended.

(A heck of a tag match to help establish how top-heavy the NXT Womens Division is with Giulia and Vaquer’s arrivals. The addition of Zaria (aka the former Delta) should make things more interesting.)

**********

– Footage from earlier this week was shown of Je’von Evans and Cedric Alexander talking about their match against FrAxiom for the NXT Tag Titles on Tuesday’s NXT.

– We went to David LaGreca and Bubba Ray Dudley in the crowd talking about the women’s tag match that we just saw, as well as the Tables, Ladders, and “Scares” Match.

Ambulance Match: Ridge Holland defeated Andre Chase

Chase wore a Freddy Kreuger-inspired sweater for this match, which started off with both Chase and Holland mixing it up. Chase dove from the apron with a cannonball to take down Holland.

At ringside, Holland recovered and threw Chase over the barricade. The action found its way to the Ambulance as Chase used a fire extinguisher to spray Holland with. Holland responded with a belly to belly.

In the ring, Chase struck Holland with a chair, but got slammes to the mat at ringside. Holland exposed the concrete, but got thrown onto it by Chase. The stretcher was used to good effect by Chase as the announce table got some action.

Chase avoided calamity as he countered Holland on the table and planted the scoundrel with a DDT. Chase tried to roll Holland on the stretcher, but to no avail as his foe escaped. Holland regained the advantage and dropped Chase onto the stretcher and pulled it next to the ambulance on the stage.

Holland pummeled Chase but was caught by surprise by a stretcherboard strike. Chase flattened Holland with a pumpkin before he climbed the ambulance to leap onto him. Chase threw Holland into the ambulance and thought he had it won. Holland raked Chase in the eye and catapulted him head first onto the door.

Holland brought an end to this match by hitting his DDT and throwing Chase into the ambulance and shutting the door.

(A rather interesting and entertaining match that should thrust Holland into a title picture moving forward.)

**********

– Earlier this week, Nathan Frazer and Axiom were training for their tag title match. We then went backstage to NXT GM Ava, who was asked about NXT’s upcoming show from the ECW Arena in Philadelphia. Ava announced Jaida Parker vs. Lola Vice would be a hardcore match with EVW alumni Dawn Marie as guest referee.

Gauntlet Match (Women’s North American Championship): Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley defeated Kelani Jordan

Jordan started off in the Gauntlet against Jazmyn Nyx, taking her down with dropkicks, followed by a moonsault to the outside. Running splash from Jordan only got a two. Nyx looked to regain momentum with a running field goal kick on Jordan, but no avail.

Fisherman suplexes by Nyx kept Jordan grounded, but not for long. Jordan went up top for the 450 Splash as she pinned Nyx for the first fall.

Jacy Jayne was next up in the Gauntlet, but Jordan seemed more than ready for her, immediately taking her down with a vaulting splash on the outside.

Jayne trapped Jordan in a tree of woe to hit the cannonball. Jayne had the advantage with the running knee to Jordan’s head as she kept her for grounded.

Jordan regained momentum, but Jayne rolled her up for a pin that couldn’t get the job done. Jordan fought back and hit a rollup pin of her own for the one, two, three.

Jayne cheapshotted Jordan before Fallon Henley came out for the final part of this Gauntlet. Henley hit a suplex on Jordan and slammed her head to the canvas to assert control on her fatigued opponent.

Jordan dropped a leg on Henley’s head, but couldn’t get the three. We got a double down from both women as they tried to get themselves back up.

Henley and Jordan exchanged strikes in the ring as the action was fast and furious. Up top, Jordan tried for her 450, but Jayne provided a distraction as Henley rolled out of the way and hit her Shining Wizard to capture the Women’s North American Title.

– After the match, Fatal Influence tried to cut a promo, but the lights went out again as Zaria’s video played. Inside the ring, Zaria stood behind the Fatal Influence trio and destroyed them in short order.

(The classic gauntlet scenario played out as expected, but Zaria making it clear she wants the Women’s North American Title should spice things up.)

**********

– Backstage, Adrianna Rizzo threw down the gauntlet against Nikkita Evans, who attacked her last Tuesday on NXT.

– Ridge Holland once again confronted Bubba Ray Dudley and David LaGreca while the two discussed the main event.

– Tatum Paxley spun the Halloween Havoc wheel and we learned that she will face Wendy Choo on Tuesday’s NXT in a Casket Match.

Devil’s Playground (NXT Championship): Trick Williams defeated “All Ego” Ethan Page

Page attacked Williams during the ring introductions as he battered away at the NXT Champion. He then brought a chair into the proceedings. Williams had a chair of his own as he hit Page with it. He then put a jack-o-lantern on Page’s head and attacked him with repeated strikes that broke the pumpkin.

The fight made its way through the crowd as Williams threw Page onto a garbage can, but that was a near-fall. Champion and challenger walked and brawled back to ringside as Page avoided a chair shot and instead threw Williams into the ringpost with the chair wrapped around his neck.

Page continued the assault on Williams with the chair as he planted the NXT Champion with a sidewalk slam onto an unfolded chair. When that didn’t get the win, Page threw Williams from the top rope onto another chair for added pain.

Wiliams created some separation between him and Page with a DDT and tried to build momentum. Trick Shot attempt dodged by Page as he went for an Ego’s Edge that Williams escaped. Another Trick Shot attempt connects, but Page kicked out.

Outside the ring, Page knocked down Williams with a black bag that’s later revealed to have nuts and bolts inside. Williiams hits a neckbreaker on Page that sends him into the nuts and bolts.

Page regained control outside the ring as he grabbed the steel steps. However, Williams caught him by surprise from behind. The announce table was cleared as Page hit a super Ego’s Edge through the table from the steps. One… two… Williams kicked out!

Trainers checked up on Williams who appeared out of it, but refused to go down at this moment. Williams crawled back to the ring and immediately got thrown into the steps by Page. Williams avoided getting crushed by the steel steps, but got kicked in the groin by Page.

With the stairs in hand, Page looked to crush Williams, but he got hit in the groin. Williams with the stairs, followed by the Trick Shot knee to Page and the NXT Champion survived the Devil’s Playground.

– After the match, Ridge Holland attacked Williams from behind as Page confronted him. He threw Williams to Holland, who slammed him with his DDT. Suddenly, Bubba Ray Dudley made the save for Williams as he fended off Holland and Page. The PLE wrapped with Bubba and Williams in the ring standing tall.

(A good enough main event to cap off an entertaining Halloween Havoc show. It looks as though we have our main event for the NXT at the 2300 with Williams and Bubba Ray vs. Page and Holland which is… interesting, to say the least.)

AEW Collision live results: Ricochet vs. Lio Rush

For the first time ever, Ricochet will battle Lio Rush in the one of the featured bouts on tonight’s live AEW Collision from Cedar Rapids, Iowa — the company’s debut show in the city.

Ricochet is looking to remain undefeated in singles matches while Rush is looking to rebound from a recent defeat to the debuting Shelton Benjamin.

Former AEW Tag Team Champions FTR will take on the new look La Faccion Ingobernable of Rush & Dralistico. In other tag team action, The Outrunners will battle MxM Collection.

Anna Jay will look for her sixth straight win when she faces Viva Van while Penelope Ford will make her in-ring return for the first time since February 2023 when she faces Robyn Renegade.

In search of a rematch with Hangman Page, Jay White will go one-on-one with Shane Taylor.

Wheeler Yuta will be on hand to talk with Nigel McGuinness in a sit-down interview.

**********

AEW Collision comes to us live from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The show started with an exclusive video from after Dynamite. The AEW babyface army was surrounding the injured Chuck Taylor as he was stretchered out. Orange Cassidy shoved Daniel Garcia, saying he didn’t want to be involved because something like this would happen. Garcia told Cassidy that he had to do something about it now, and Cassidy said he would do something about it on Wednesday.

Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were at the commentary desk, noting that Chuck Taylor was recovering from the attack at the hospital.

Jay White (w/ Juice Robinson) defeated Shane Taylor (w/ Lee Moriarty)

I’m enjoying White’s work since his return, with his dedicated leg work giving him the slightest of openings to get the win. A Hangman Page rematch was fairly obvious after the interference in the Christian Cage match, and now we have a set date for it at the PPV.

White went for the leg of Taylor before Moriarty interference allowed Taylor to land a big forearm. Taylor landed a big leg drop on the apron before jaw-jacking at the fans. After a commercial break, White dodged a leg drop in the ring and began a comeback, chopping away at Taylor in the corner. White landed a dragon screw leg whip and a kneebar stunner before scoring a nearfall with a DDT.

Taylor took a clothesline before headbutting White and dropping him with a uranage. White ducked a lariat and caught Taylor with a flatliner, followed by a side suplex. White hit a big uranage of his own for a nearfall. Moriarty tried to interfere again, but Robinson bounced him off the apron. Taylor hit White with a knee lift, but suffered from the knee work White had done earlier. Taylor went for the Marcus Garvey Driver, but the knee gave out, allowing White to hit the Blade Runner for the win.

White took the microphone after the match, noting that both Taylor and Hangman Page hit a lot harder than he does. He said that he got under Page’s skin because, despite Page’s accomplishments, White has always been better than him. White offered Page one last shot at redemption, challenging him to a match at Full Gear.

Ricochet was backstage with Lexy Nair, who asked about MVP’s managerial offer on Dynamite. Ricochet said that he planned on doing his own thing, leading to Lio Rush entering the frame. He noted that he also got an offer from MVP before telling Ricochet to not overlook him tonight.

Kyle Fletcher and his big buzzcut were backstage with Lexy Nair, who said he was here on Don Callis Family business. He would keep an eye on Ricochet on behalf of Konosuke Takeshita. Fletcher said that if Will Ospreay answered his challenge on Dynamite, he would be going on the shelf for a long time. And if he didn’t? Ospreay would prove that he was a coward. Fletcher said that he would be in action next week on Collision either way, wanting a new challenge after disposing of Ospreay.

Penelope Ford defeated Robyn Renegade

This was Ford’s first match in nearly 750 days. Renegade got some offense in, including a rope-hung DDT. But Ford ended up scoring the win with a gutbuster and the Muta Lock. After the match, Jamie Hayter appeared on the JumboTron, taking a page out of Ford’s book. She reiterated her challenge for the November 6th Dynamite.

FTR & The Outrunners were backstage with Lexy Nair. They were hyping each other up for their respective matches before the Outrunners made their way to the ring, with Dax Harwood noting that the Outrunners road to the AEW Tag Team Titles began tonight.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) defeated MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden)

The Outrunners are a solid comedy team. My limit when it comes to comedy is when my intelligence is insulted, and these guys are far from doing that. They’re just a parody of territory wrestling, and I can live with that.

We got posing from Mansoor and Magnum to start before a shoulder block took Mansoor down. Madden snuck a tag in before blindsiding Floyd with a back elbow. Johnny TV was watching backstage as Madden challenged Floyd to a test of strength. Madden bailed first, but the Outrunners peppered him with dropkicks to send him out of the ring. They shot Mansoor onto Madden on the floor as we went to a commercial break.

Back from the break, MxM kept Magnum away from his corner. They hit a leg lariat variant on the Hart Attack for a nearfall. Magnum fought his way to the corner and made the tag to Floyd, who ran wild. Madden caught both of the Outrunners with a goozle, but they fought him off and hit an assisted bodyslam. They dropped Madden on top of Mansoor before hitting the Predator elbow drop. MxM came back with the old Beer Money finisher, but Floyd kicked out. The Doomsday Device was countered, and the Outrunners hit Total Recall for the win.

Wheeler Yuta Interview with Nigel McGuinness

I really enjoyed this interview. McGuinness having some sympathy for Danielson after the attack was a nice touch, with Yuta framing it perfectly as the Joker being upset that someone else killed Batman. Yuta came across like someone trying to convince himself that he had no choice but to join Moxley’s crew.

Wheeler Yuta sat down with Nigel McGuinness, who asked Yuta why he suffocated Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream. McGuinness said that he wanted to hear what Yuta had to say because he had to answer for it one day. Yuta mocked McGuinness, saying that they killed Batman before the Joker could. He questioned whether that was what McGuinness wanted, with all of the trash talk McGuinness had spoken about Danielson. McGuinness said that he wanted to prove that he was a better wrestler than Danielson, but Yuta went much further than that.

Yuta said that they gave Danielson a warrior’s death. The American Dragon that McGuinness knew was long dead, and they just put him out of his misery and got him out of the way for the greater good. McGuinness asked where it would stop after Yuta helped put his trainer Chuck Taylor on the shelf. Yuta said that if it wasn’t for the BCC, he’d be sitting beside a corpse, hoping it would rise up to save the day. If they were willing to do that to the people they loved, what would they do to everyone else for the greater good?

La Faccion Ingobernable & Jake Roberts were backstage. Roberts said that while FTR had proven a lot in wrestling, they hadn’t proven that they could hang with LFI. Roberts gave away their game plan, noting that they would go after Harwood’s bad shoulder and that there wasn’t anything they could do to stop them.

Ricochet defeated Lio Rush

Despite being the smaller man, Rush was a very good aggressor in this match. A good match here, with Ricochet continuing to settle into his groove in AEW.

Rush was the aggressor to start, sending Ricochet to the floor with a handspring. Ricochet came back with a hurricane boot to take control. Ricochet caught Rush with a 619 in the corner, then stuffed a Spanish Fly attempt before rocking Rush with a knee. Rush feigned being knocked out before sending Ricochet to the floor and landing a pair of dives as we went to commercial.

After the break, Rush took Ricochet off the top into the ropes. Ricochet evaded a frog splash before running wild on offense, hitting a running shooting star for a nearfall. Rush fought Ricochet off with a stunner and cut him off with a clothesline. Ricochet countered the Rush Hour with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall, calling out Takeshita in the process. Ricochet went for Vertigo, but Rush caught him with a nearfall after almost shoving him into the referee.

Rush followed with a hurricane kick for a nearfall as well. A frustrated Rush grabbed a chair from ringside, but Ricochet booted it into his face before landing a Fosbury Flop. Ricochet sent Rush into the ring and landed his new finisher, a running elbow strike, for the win.

Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, & The Beast Mortos were backstage with Lexy Nair. The Kingdom was still trying to get Mortos to team up with them instead of LFI and offered him a candy bag. They didn’t seem to be getting through to him, so they had Mike Bennett in a Mortos mask to translate. Mortos growled in response to all of this.

Anna Jay defeated Viva Van

The announcers put over Van’s accomplishments on New Japan’s US shows, teasing this as a trap match for Jay ahead of next week’s Women’s Title match. Van caught Jay with a leg lariat after a misdirection. After a commercial break, Jay fired up with a chop exchange before landing a shotgun dropkick. Jay hit a Dangerous Jay kick in the corner before scoring a nearfall with an Iconoclasm.

Van caught Jay with an upkick, then followed up with a backfist for a nearfall. Jay came back with a backstabber for a nearfall. Van hammered her in the corner before hitting a springboard crossbody for a nearfall. Van pulled Jay up into electric chair position, but Jay slid down and pulled Van into a Gory Bomb for the win.

We got comments from Mariah May in a pre-tape. May said that if Anna Jay quit the business tomorrow, no one would care as another blonde would take her place and waste five years of her life. She mocked the idea of Jay as a role model, saying that people who never give up were never good enough to begin with. May learned in Japan what she’s learned in AEW, that there’s not a woman alive who could touch her. May called herself the woman from hell who would step on anyone’s dream and told Jay that if next week was sink-or-swim, May would drown her.

(May continues to improve as she goes on as champion, with her slight character pivot working well. A very good promo to set up next week’s title match.)

We got a hype video for Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews on Dynamite. The announcers ran down the card for Fright Night Dynamite and next week’s Collision, with the addition of Kyle Fletcher vs. Komander.

Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii were backstage with Lexy Nair. O’Reilly said it was laughable that The Learning Tree thought they ran Ishii out of AEW, and that the word of the day per Mark Briscoe was honor, which the Learning Tree had none of. O’Reilly turned his attention to Orange Cassidy, saying that he had never seen Cassidy so angry before. He would let Cassidy say his peace on Dynamite. When Nair asked O’Reilly about his focus on the Undisputed Kingdom on Dynamite, O’Reilly said that he kept his eye on everything in AEW and that he was good in the Conglomeration.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico & Rush) (w/ The Beast Mortos & Jake Roberts)

A hard-hitting main event here that earned the crowd after a while. Dralistico is always at risk for an off night, but he was on point here to contribute to a good Collision main event. This FTRunners deal has the crowd’s attention, and I wonder where they go with it.

As the match began, Jay White vs. Hangman Page was made official for Full Gear, with a note that we will hear from Page on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Dralistico used his speed to outpace Harwood to start, but FTR got him in their corner for a quick double team to send him scurrying to tag Rush. Rush and Wheeler peppered each other with shots before FTR landed dual German suplexes to send them to the floor. Back in the ring, Dralistico caught Harwood’s attention and allowed Rush to send Harwood into the post.

After the break, Rush took Harwood on a tour of the barricades before LFI clubbered on him. Wheeler got the hot tag after a while and ran wild on both Rush and Dralistico. Dralistico came back with a springboard crucifix bomb, and both men slowly tagged out to their partners. Harwood and Rush charged each other with lariats before Rush landed a senton. Harwood ducked through both of their legs to set up a Wheeler double clothesline off the top rope.

Dralistico caught Harwood with a La Mistica, targeting the shoulder as Roberts said they would. Harwood got to the ropes as Wheeler ducked a Rush charge on the floor. Harwood hit a superplex, but a Shatter Machine attempt was cut off by Rush from the floor. Harwood got sent into Wheeler on the apron, with Dralistico scoring a roll-up nearfall. Wheeler cut off a Bull’s Horns attempt, and Harwood got a nearfall with a rebound powerbomb. Rush caught Harwood with a crucifix for a nearfall.

Rush and Harwood slapped each other as the crowd fired up. Rush fought off a Sharpshooter attempt to send Harwood into Mortos and get a roll-up nearfall. FTR sent Dralistico into Mortos before landing the Shatter Machine for the win. Mortos jumped Harwood after the bell, and LFI went to do more damage before The Outrunners ran them off. The babyfaces did the Predator handshake as we went off the air.

TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Spitfire defends against NXT’s Wendy Choo & Rosemary.

The pre-show will feature a 20-man Call Your Shot gauntlet match; Ash & Heather by Elegance vs. NXT’s Xia Brookside & Brinley Reece; and the annual Hall of Fame ceremony.

**********
Ash & Heather By Elegance defeated Xia Brookside & Brinley Reece

The Countdown to TNA Bound For Glory pre-show kicks off inside Wayne State Fieldhouse with George Iceman coming to the ring with a microphone in-hand. He welcomes beauty personified — times two. With that said, out comes Ash & Heather By Elegance, dressed up as the devil and an angel, respectively.

WWE NXT Superstar Brinley Reece comes out first for their opposition. Then out to the late-1990s pop-rock, American Pie soundtrack missing-tune comes her partner, Xia Brookside, to a pretty good pop from the Detroit crowd.

Reece and Heather kick things off for their respective teams, as fans immediately break out in the first of what will likely be many “TNA! TNA!” chants for the evening. Reece controls Heather and then tags in Brookside, who picks up where she left off, taking it to Ash By Elegance’s new protégé.

After Heather tags back in, the action spills to the floor, where Ash provides an assist that leads to a shift in the offensive momentum. Fans chant “You still suck! You still suck!” as the angel and devil duo take turns controlling Reece in the ring.

After a loud “We want Xia!” chant spreads throughout the building, Reece fires back up and makes the much-needed tag. Brookside hits the ring off the hot tag with a ton of momentum, and connects with Broken Wings in the corner.

Reece tags back in and after a big move, gets a close two-count on Ash. Reece hits a big power spot after that and seemingly has things won, only for Iceman to interfere to a ton of heat from the Detroit crowd. Fans chant “Kick his ass! Kick his ass!” as Brookside chases him around the ring.

She gets him down and chokes him out with his own sport coat. Meanwhile, Reece is hit with a Spanish Fly by Heather and Rarified Air by Ash for the finish. Iceman celebrates with Ash and Heather in the ring to wrap up the opener.

Bob Ryder, Rhino Inducted Into 2024 Class Of TNA Hall Of Fame

The induction video package for Bob Ryder airs for the 2024 class of the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame. The package featured Jeff Jarrett, Kurt Angle, James Storm, Frankie Kazarian, Josh Mathews and many others singing the praises of the longtime TNA office employee.

When the package wraps up, Eric Young comes out to a podium at the end of the entrance ramp to give an induction speech for his longtime personal friend, Bob Ryder. Fans in the building chant “Thank you, Bob!”

Young gives a speech about what a good person Ryder was and mentions his passing and how he’s watching now proudly. He is given credit for being along with Jeff and Jerry Jarrett, one of a handful of people responsible for TNA’s existence.

When that wraps up, the induction video package for former ECW original Rhino airs. Many of the same talking heads are featured giving kind words about “The Man Beast” / “The War Machine.” When the package wraps up, Tommy Dreamer comes out to deliver an induction speech.

Dreamer talks about Rhino being “everything a classic big man should be.” That’s right, 5’10” “big man.” We all get what he means, but still. Dreamer gives Rhino’s long list of credentials from his days in WWE, ECW and TNA. Dreamer says Rhino looks and works as good as ever now as he did in his prime.

He then wraps up joking about Rhino saying every year that it’s going to be the Detroit Lions’ year. The fans in Detroit loved that and broke out into a loud pro-Lions chant. Rhino is then introduced and out he comes in a bright red suit coat to the obligatory “You deserve it!” chant.

Rhino delivers an excellent line about being in shock that they found a decent suit jacket that fit Dreamer. He follows that up with an awesome joke about his wife. The crowd gives him some flack for it and he quickly quips, “C’mon you’re supposed to be on my side tonight!”

Rhino’s personality is shining through in ways in this induction speech that he’s maybe never shown in decades of performing in front of cameras. Really good, genuine stuff. He thanks his family, Paul Heyman and even his “WWE family.” He thanks Triple H for never stop believing in him.

He thanks Jim Ross and Pat Patterson for always believing in him and pushing for him to get a second chance. He thanks Edge, Christian and Joe Legend for always being his friend no matter what. He says Dreamer is like a brother to him. He thanks Johnny Swinger and tells him to keep swinging, baby.

He thanks Scott D’Amore for training him. He mentions having two minutes left. He thanks Heath Slater. He calls him a great human being and says in 2017, his brother Jim was diagnosed with cancer and given a death sentence.

He only lived two-and-a-half months after it and Heath would talk to him and he could see the cancer go away and the life come back in his voice. He says for a moment in time he would give his brother moments in life. He thanks Heath again. He leads fans in a “GORE!” chant and wraps up an awesome induction speech.

Frankie Kazarian Wins 2024 Call Your Shot Gauntlet

After the 2024 TNA Hall of Fame segment wraps up, we shift gears and get ready for the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. Out first comes Frankie Kazarian. Starting things off with Kazarian will be Zachary Wentz. The bell sounds and these two will kick things off for the first two minutes.

Wentz takes the early offensive lead and after some back-and-forth action, the countdown clock appears to bring out Jake Something at number three. Something immediately hits the ring and makes an impact, taking it to both Wentz and Kazarian with power offense.

Something and Kazarian both try and throw Wentz over the top, and as they do, the countdown clock appears again. Trey Miguel makes his way out in the fourth position and provides some help for Wentz. The crowd comes to life as Miguel flies all over the place, taking out any-and-everything that moves in the process.

Wentz recovers and joins in with Miguel as the Detroit crowd breaks out into a “Let’s go Rascalz!” chant. The countdown clock appears and winds down to bring out Hammerstone. Now Jake Something has some assistance, and four of the five men in the ring are part of teams.

Hammerstone powerbombs Wentz into Miguel. Kazarian tries ordering Hammerstone around, but this backfires on him. Hammerstone and Something run over “The King of TNA” with a big double-clothesline. The countdown clock winds down and Rohit Raju comes out as the seventh competitor in the gauntlet.

Out as the eighth participant in the gauntlet a couple of minutes later is Laredo Kid. Fans chant “Lucha! Lucha!” as the masked-man hits the ring with a ton of energy, but within seconds is eliminated. Miguel works on Hammerstone outside of the ring ropes on the apron, but Something hits him from behind.

Hammerstone launches Miguel onto Laredo Kid on the floor to eliminate him. The countdown clock winds down at the same time and out comes Sami Callihan. As he enters the ring, Hammerstone is eliminated. Callihan hits a Cactus Driver ’97 almost immediately.

John Skyler comes out next and after a couple of minutes, Bhupinder Gujjar comes out as the next entrant. Gujjar is nearly eliminated by Raju, but in Shawn Michaels and Ricky Steamboat-fashion, he skins the cat with relative ease. Trent Seven comes out next to a big pop in his return hometown appearance.

KC Navarro comes out next, but walks right into “The Death Machine.” Sami Callihan Donkey Kong’s him into the mat with authority for a big pop. Moments later, Raju and Gujjar eliminate themselves, and John Skyler gets eliminated just as 2024 TNA Hall of Fame inductee Rhino makes his way out.

Rhino immediately eliminates Callihan as the crowd goes berserk. Fans chant “Gore! Gore! Gore!” Rhino ties Chris Sabin tonight with his 13th match at a TNA Bound For Glory event. The countdown clock winds down and out comes Tasha Steelz as the first Knockout in this year’s bout.

Steelz hits the ring and blasts Navarro with a standing cutter that launches him half way across the ring. Steelz and Rhino have a big staredown, Brock Lesnar and GUNTHER style. Rhino hoists her up but sets her down. Steelz does a twerk dance.

The countdown clock strikes and Lei Ying Lee comes out as the second Knockout entrant in the gauntlet. Within a minute, Lee eliminates the only other female in the ring, as she blasts Steelz with a kick that sends her over the ropes and out to the floor.

Jason Hotch is out as the next entrant. Navarro is eliminated. Leon Slater is out next and he immediately starts racking up a body count, bouncing bodies all over the place, but not yet actually eliminating anyone. Kazarian blasts Lee with a clothesline, which elicits a ton of heat.

She is eliminated seconds later. Jonathan Gresham comes out as entrant number 18. JDC comes out as the 19th entrant and quickly eliminates Slater for a ton of heat. Seven hits a Seven-Star Lariat on JDC just as the countdown clock appears again. Out comes AJ Francis as the 20th and final competitor.

Gresham, Seven and Hotch are eliminated in rapid-fire-style fashion. Wentz hits a death valley driver on the ring apron outside the ropes to Something to eliminate him. Wentz nearly hurricanrana’s Francis over the ropes, but Something provides the assist from the floor, yanking Wentz out and eliminating him.

Fans chant “Gore! Gore! Gore!” as they see Rhino, JDC, AJ Francis and Frankie Kazarian as the final competitors remaining. Rhino eliminates JDC but turns around into a gore from Francis. The crowd craps all over that, as you would expect. Francis tries throwing Rhino out, but Rhino slides out the back door and clotheslines Francis out for a massive pop.

Rhino turns around and sees Kazarian down in the corner. Kazarian slowly gets to his feet and the bell sounds for a standard one-on-one bout between Kazarian and Rhino. Kazarian hits a low-blow on Rhino that the referee doesn’t see and within all of a minute, scores a pin for the victory.

Frankie Kazarian is the 2024 Call Your Shot Gauntlet winner. He is presented with his trophy and he celebrates. The commentators talk about him being able to call for a title shot of his choosing at any time of his choosing in the next year.

They point out with him being the third man in the ring for tonight’s TNA World title bout between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry, that things could get interesting. Hannifan and Rehwoldt are shown on-camera one final time to wrap up the Countdown to TNA Bound For Glory pre-show. It’s pay-per-view time!

“Speedball” Mike Bailey defeated El Hijo del Vikingo to retain the TNA X-Division Championship

An excellent cold open video package airs to start off the PPV portion of TNA Bound For Glory 2024. Back inside the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, MI., the theme plays to bring out El Hijo del Vikingo. After he settles in the ring, reigning TNA X-Division Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey emerges.

Fans are chanting “Holy sh*t! Holy sh*t!” before Bailey’s theme is even finished playing. His theme wraps up and the bell sounds, eliciting a loud “This is Awesome! This is Awesome!” chant before the two touch. They shake hands and get in a Street Fighter video game-style fighting stance. The fight is on.

Hannifan says tonight is the highest grossing Bound For Glory show in 11 years. del Vikingo hits a turning spot in the ring that looked, like much of his offense, awe-inspiring. He hits another twisting splash to Bailey after diving through the ropes out to the floor.

He goes for a big high spot off the ropes back in the ring, but Bailey moves and avoids it. del Vikingo stops and the referee checks on his knee, before Bailey reengages and specifically focuses his attack on the knee of the challenger.

The two proceed to put on an instant classic of high-risk, high-impact offensive showcases for the next ten minutes, including an insane Canadian Destroyer off the ropes onto the hard part of the ring apron. In the end, Bailey hit a float-over super-plex off the ropes for the victory to retain his X-Division Championship in an epic title tilt.

Spitfire defeated Wendy Choo & Rosemary to retain the TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Championships

Rehwoldt and Hannifan appear on-camera to run down the rest of the card still to come and then set the stage for our second PPV bout of the evening, which is another championship contest. Wendy Choo and Rosemary come out together as the challengers for a Knockouts tag-team title tilt.

Spitfire duo Jody Threat and Dani Luna make their way out next for their latest title defense. The bell sounds and it is Threat and Choo who kick things off for their respective teams. Threat takes the early offensive lead before tagging in Luna.

Choo pulls Luna’s hair and brings her to her own corner, where she tags in Rosemary. We see the pillow used as a cushion for the heel challengers, resulting in the poor pillow being suplexed out to the floor. True story.

Choo and Rosemary start to sneak around with cheap heel tactics behind the referee’s back, which allows them to shift the offensive momentum in their favor. They isolate Threat on their side of the ring and prevent her from making the tag, all-the-while utilizing frequent tags themselves to keep a fresh person on her at all times.

Luna finally gets the tag and she does a good job of taking over, but eventually falls victim to a two-on-one attack by Choo and Rosemary in a prolonged beatdown at ringside. Threat hits a high spot off the ropes to even things out, while also breaking the referee’s count to keep the match going.

After the big high spot, Threat heads back to the corner and cheers on Luna to make the tag, only for Choo to yank her off the apron. Rosemary then follows up with a spear to Luna in the ring. She immediately covers her, but decides to pull Luna up before the referee could count to three.

She tags in Choo and the two set Luna up for a double suplex off the middle rope. Luna escapes and brings them both down with a double powerbomb. She makes the tag and Threat comes in delivering blows to Choo and Rosemary over-and-over again, until running into double-knees by Choo.

Rosemary accidentally blasts Choo. Threat trips Choo onto Rosemary draped over the middle rope. She hits a running double knees to their stacked-backs and then connects with a double German suplex. She tags Luna in and the two hit the Pressure Drop for the win to retain. After the match, Rosemary spears Choo and lays her out. She grabs her lifeless head and lifts it up and kisses her before leaving her laying.

Gia Miller Interviews Special Referee Frankie Kazarian

Backstage, Frankie Kazarian, fresh off of his victory in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match earlier in the evening, is shown reading Earl Hebner’s autobiography. Gia Miller walks up and he tells her he’s busy reading and studying for his special referee assignment tonight.

The self-proclaimed “King of TNA” then talks briefly about his plans as the Call Your Shot Gauntlet winner. Joe Hendry and Nic Nemeth are shown making their arrivals to the building for their main event title tilt later in tonight’s main event.

Josh Alexander defeated Steve Maclin

Back inside the arena, Steve Maclin’s theme hits and out he comes for the next PPV match of the evening. He settles in the ring and then the entrance tune for Josh Alexander hits. “The Walking Weapon” emerges, only to be rushed by Maclin.

Maclin meets him as soon as he walks through the entrance tunnel at the top of the entrance staging area. Hannifan and Rehwoldt talk about Sinner & Saint not being here tonight due to travel issues, noting Maclin gets Alexander all by himself tonight after being zip-tied and attacked on Thursday.

After a couple of minutes of beating down Alexander at ringside, Alexander finally starts to fight back and take over. He does the old-school Bret Hart-style sharpshooter around the ring post to soften up the leg of Maclin. He enters the ring and the referee finally calls for the bell.

Alexander immediately rushes across the ring and goes straight to work on the leg that he just began softening up of Maclin. Fans get on his case with “Walking Weiner” chants. Maclin starts to take over but after a few more minutes of action, Alexander blatantly low-blows Maclin after the referee is bumped.

While the referee is still down, Alexander zip-ties Maclin’s hands behind his back. Maclin starts to fight back with his hands still cuffed behind him. The referee tries during a lull in the action to untie his hands, but Maclin just moves away from him and dives through the ropes to splash onto Alexander on the floor.

Back in the ring, he does the same thing, refusing to wait for the ref to cut his hands free, opting instead to land a running double-knee to “The Walking Weapon.” Again Maclin refuses to be untied by the ref, and this time it backfires, as Alexander hits a tombstone pile driver to Maclin with his hands cuffed behind him.

Dangerous stuff. He goes for the cover, and even with his hands tied behind his back, Maclin still gets a shoulder up. Alexander goes for the C4 Spike, but Maclin avoids it. Alexander hits a German suplex to Maclin, who no-sells it and pops back up with his hands still behind his back.

Alexander locks Maclin in the ankle lock. The commentators point out that Maclin can’t tap out or grab the ropes due to them being cuffed behind him. Maclin passes out, presumably due to extreme leg pain? Alexander wins with an ankle lock due to pass out by Maclin.

PCO defeated Matt Cardona in a Monster’s Ball match to retain the TNA Digital Media & International Heavyweight Championships

We see footage of Masha Slamovich and Jordynne Grace arriving to the building earlier today, as the commentators mention we’re not far from our triple main event. First, however, the pre-match video package airs to tell the story leading up to our next PPV match.

Up next is the Monster’s Ball match between PCO and Matt Cardona for the TNA Digital Media and International Heavyweight Championships. When the “road to” style package wraps up, we hear the familiar sounds of “Alwayz Ready” Matt Cardona’s theme.

Out comes “The Indy God” looking as tan as ever, wearing a “Deathmatch Busters” Ghostbusters-style ring gear. He settles in the ring and then the lights in the building go out. The entrance for PCO begins. Out comes “The French-Canadian Frankenstein” to a big pop.

The bell sounds and off we go with this Monster’s Ball double title tilt. This is the 59th ever Monster’s Ball match in TNA history. That seems like a lot. PCO is undefeated at 3-0 in his Monster’s Ball match history. Cardona’s first few offensive attempts result in a no-sell by PCO, who nearly be-heads him with a lariat.

Cardona side-steps PCO as he charged at him at full-speed, and guides him through the ropes, where he crashes and burns on the floor at ringside. Cardona slides through the bottom rope with a baseball slide dropkick to PCO, before sending him into the ring post, and then the ring steps.

The violence levels pick up from there, as a door is brought in instead of a table. It is put in the corner and used as the back-drop for a big spear spot. Another door is brought out and laid long ways across about four steel chairs set up by Cardona.

Cardona powerbombs PCO off the ropes through it. Cardona pulls a sack full of thumbtacks out from under the ring. He takes a handful of them and puts them in PCO’s mouth, before blasting him with a Re-Boot. He hits a Radio Silence and goes for the cover, but PCO kicks out.

Cardona one-by-one pushes thumbtacks into PCO’s cheek. Eek. A third door is pulled out from under the ring. As Cardona is holding it in the ring, PCO runs and splashes onto it and him for a close two-count. Now we see PCO pull out a second black sack from under the ring.

He sprinkles out a ton of thumbtacks all over the ring mat. Cardona, who has blood all over one of his pant legs, heads out to the floor and grabs a baseball bat wrapped in neon green barbed wire. He stabs it into the face of PCO, who fights back and ultimately chokeslams Cardona onto the pile of tacks. He follows up with a PCO-sault for the win to retain his titles in a fun violent brawl.

Mike Santana defeated Moose

The “road to” style pre-match video package airs to tell the story leading up to our next match of the evening, which features Moose of The System going one-on-one against Mike Santana. Hip-hop star Westside Gunn is shown in the first row as Moose makes his ring entrance.

Mike Santana is out next to a big crowd reaction from the packed house in Detroit. Fans break out in a dueling “Spin the Block” / “Moose!” chant as the two stare each other down at the sound of the bell. Santana charges at Moose and the two immediately brawl out to the floor.

After this continues for a few minutes, the match resumes inside the ring where Santana starts to fight back into competitive form. Moose cuts his comeback short, however, and proceeds to settle into a comfortable prolonged run in the offensive driver’s seat.

Santana begins a fired up comeback, only for JDC of The System to hit the ring and try to interfere. Santana ends up taking him out with a Spin the Block and follows up with another to Moose. He goes for the cover but only gets two.

Moose hits a big Spear, but Santana somehow kicks out of that. Santana hits another Spin the Block for the big win. Hannifan stresses on commentary that Santana worked his way through each member of The System before taking out the head of the snake on TNA’s biggest stage tonight.

Masha Slamovich defeated Jordynne Grace to become the new TNA Knockouts Champion

Now it’s time for part one of the TNA Bound For Glory 2024 triple-main event, as up next is the TNA Knockouts Championship bout. The pre-match package airs to tell the story leading up to tonight’s showdown between Masha Slamovich and “The Juggernaut” Jordynne Grace.

The Tale of the Tape graphic flashes on the screen when we return live, and then Slamovich makes her way out to what is a pretty surprisingly big reaction from the crowd. Out next to a bigger pop is the reigning champ, Grace, who looks extra dolled up for tonight’s big show.

After the long, drawn out, formal ring introductions for this championship contest and our first of three co-main events, the bell sounds and the two shake hands before getting after it. Slamovich starts off strong, but then Grace takes over and targets the knee of the challenger.

Grace picks Slamovich up and bounces her knee off the ring post at ringside over-and-over again. Back in the ring, Slamovich eventually starts to fight back into competitive form. She hits a Snow Plow for a super close two-count. Grace fights back and hits a Kryptonite Crunch for a two-count.

Slamovich is launched to the floor where she lands hard, drawing an audible collective gasp from the Detroit crowd in attendance. Slamovich hoists Grace up and connects with a Burning Hammer for another super close two-count. Fans chant “TNA! TNA!” as both are slow to get back to their feet.

After Slamovich lands an assortment of kicks, Grace catches one of them and in one swift motion, hoists Slamovich up across her shoulders. She plants her into the mat and then quickly muscles her back up right into a Juggernaut Driver. She immediately goes for the cover, but somehow Slamovich kicks out.

Grace locks Slamovich in a tight leg submission that she cranks away on, wrenching away at the injured knee that she has been softening up the entire night. Somehow Slamovich hangs on and makes it to the ropes. Fans chant “This is Awesome! This is Awesome!”

The champ looks for the Grace Driver off the ropes, but Slamovich has it well-scouted and begins headbutting her way free. She takes over and connects with a Super Snow Plow. She rolls through into a pile driver and covers her for the win. We have a new TNA Knockouts Champion after an excellent match.

Nic Nemeth defeated Joe Hendry to retain the TNA World Championship

The pre-match video package for match two in our triple-main event here at TNA Bound For Glory 2024 airs now. Up next is the TNA World Championship showdown between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry. The package wraps up and special referee and 2024 Call Your Shot Gauntlet winner Frankie Kazarian emerges.

After the self-proclaimed “King of TNA” settles in the ring with his massive Call Your Shot Gauntlet trophy, he awaits the arrival of the challenger and the champion. A special elaborate pre-entrance video package airs with Joe Hendry in a hoodie looking into a bathroom mirror, ala Eminem in “8 Mile.”

It then shows him in Detroit with his back turned in a spot where clearly everyone was hoping to see the dramatic turn to reveal Slim Shady himself. Unfortunately, it was Hendry. Inside the arena, we see someone come out with their back turned holding a chainsaw, ala Eminem in his old Slim Shady wild-man days.

The catchy-ass “I Believe in Joe Hendry” entrance tune hits and we see the dramatic turn to reveal Hendry again. He makes his way to the ring as the fans in Detroit very, very loudly sing along with every word of his catchy-ass entrance tune.

Out as the wrestling equivilant of the 1980s hair metal band movement to Joe Hendry’s early-2000s hip-hop wrestling equivilant-patterned entrance is the reigning and defending TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth. The champ settles in the ring.

The ring announcer handles the long, drawn out, formal pre-match ring introductions for the champion, challenger and special guest referee. Fans actually boo Nemeth quite a bit after going bonkers for Hendry. It’s time for our second of three main events here at TNA Bound For Glory 2024.

Fans in Detroit loudly chant “F**k Ohio! F**k Ohio!” as Nemeth takes his ring jacket off and prepares for battle. Kazarian holds up the TNA World Championship and smiles real big before calling for the bell to officially get this one started. The two go face-to-face in an intense moment. They back up and lock-up.

Nemeth takes the early offensive lead. He hits his machine gun elbows spot. The Jerry Lawler heart attack special. Hendry fights back and hoists Nemeth up for a suplex. He keeps him upside down and walks him to all four corners before suplexing him down. He does his dramatic turn for a big pop.

The crowd is so pro-Hendry that they’re passionately anti-Nemeth by default. Hulk Hogan and The Rock at WrestleMania-type atmosphere, only nowhere near that scale, obviously. As the two continue to exchange offensive momentum, they each end up laid out.

Kazarian begins a double count, but stops and exits the ring. He grabs his Call Your Shot Gauntlet trophy and teases calling for his title shot now. He turns around and sees Hendry coming at him, however, and Hendry yanks the trophy out of his hands, sets it down and tells Kazarian to get in the ring and do his job.

As soon as Hendry rolls back into the ring, he stands up just in time to be planted into the mat with a FameAsser. Hendry manages to kick out of the follow-up pin attempt. A few more times we see Kazarian abuse his authority.

The next time he teases calling for his title shot on-the-spot, out walks Walker, Texas-JBL-Ranger through the crowd. John Layfield lays out Kazarian with a Clothesline from Hell for a huge pop. He stops and has a word with Hendry. As Hendry goes to turn away, JBL turns him back and nearly be-heads him with a short-arm Clothesline from Hell, Jake Roberts in-his-prime-style.

Ryan Nemeth ends up out there and he too gets turned inside-out by a big clothesline from hell by JBL. JBL walks off. Hendry slowly gets back into the ring, but is immediately hit with a Danger Zone by Nemeth. Nemeth goes for the cover but there is no referee.

One runs down and begins the count, but Hendry kicks out at two. Fans immediately break out into a thunderous “We Believe! We Believe!” chant. Hendry goes for a Standing Ovation, but doesn’t get it. Nemeth hits Danger Zone and makes the cover for the win to retain. Fans react with loud “Bullsh*t!” chants that can be heard over Nemeth’s music.

The Hardys defeated ABC and The System in Full Metal Mayhem to capture the TNA World Tag-Team Championships

The commentators run down some upcoming special event and pay-per-view dates on the TNA Wrestling calendar and then announce matches for their special Halloween episode of TNA iMPACT next Thursday night, October 31.

From there, Hannifan sets the stage for our final match of the evening, The Hardys vs. ABC vs. The System for the TNA World Tag-Team Championships in a Full Metal Mayhem match. To set up the pre-match video package, Hannifan asks, “Are you ready for one more ride into the extreme?”

The “Tag Lines” graphic flashes on the screen with some interesting notes and rules for this special Full Metal Mayhem title tilt. The iconic theme for The Hardys hits and out comes Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy.

The commentators talk about special Hardys art work being featured in, on and around the ring. Clear Jeff Hardy-style art. Exactly what you’d expect. ABC’s theme hits next and out comes Chris Bey and Ace Austin. The System’s Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers come out last.

No long, drawn out formal ring introductions for this one for some reason. Time issues? Regardless, with the special Hardy artwork all over the ring, the match going on last after Hendry-Nemeth, and the style in which the commentators are talking, if they didn’t have North Carolina coming up on the schedule almost immediately, you’d think tonight is it for Matt and Jeff Hardy.

The action gets off in a hurry and almost immediately everyone is outside of the ring and fighting in different spots on the floor. Myers escapes through the barricade and into the crowd. Hardy chases him down and Sabu’s him with a chair launched onto the back of his head. ABC fight past them with Edwards.

Myers is left for dead and The Hardys fight back to the ringside area, beating down Edwards in two-on-one fashion. They lay him on a colorful artwork table and Matt climbs an equally colorful fancy-art ladder. He hits a big leg drop to put him through it. ABC make their way back to the ringside area.

Jeff Hardy brings a painted ladder into the painted ring, which Hannifan has to point out due to the mess of colors blending together for the viewing audience at home. Odd aesthetic choice, but it’s right up The Hardys / Willow in the Whisp alley.

We see some more high spots and then everyone ends up in the ring again. A giant ladder bridge is set up. We see one ladder wedged on each side of a main ladder under the belts in the middle of the ring. The Hardys are taken out of the picture momentarily and then Edwards begins climbing.

Austin slingshots Bey off the bottom rope, LWO-style, to bring Edwards off the ladder with a backwards cutter. Moments later we see another wild ladder spot that leads to everyone being down and out except Edwards. Fans chant “This is Awesome!” as he begins to climb.

Matt Hardy stops him. Another big ladder spot sees Edwards and Matt out of the picture for the time being. Jeff climbs up a massive ladder with Myers laid out across two colorful tables at ringside. He does a swanton onto Myers but only the further table breaks. Jeff came within inches of breaking his neck or worse. Scary stuff.

Back in the ring, Austin is alone and begins climbing the ladder. Alisha Edwards runs out in a neck brace and pushes the ladder over. She then takes the neck brace off. Matt comes in behind her and takes his shirt off. He hits her with a Twist of Fate. Edwards beats Matt down from behind with a kendo stick.

Edwards begins ascending the ladder, only for Matt and Jeff in opposing corners to throw chairs at him, Sabu-style. They then hoist him up for a double power bomb over the ring ropes and through colorful tables down below. They each climb the ladder on opposite sides and pull the titles down for the win. The Hardys are your new TNA World Tag-Team Champions.

UFC 308 live results: Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway

The Octagon returns to Abu Dhabi for their yearly big pay-per-view event as UFC 308 takes place inside the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.

The main event is one of the best match-ups of the year as UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria makes his first title defense against former UFC Featherweight Champion and current BMF Champion Max Holloway. In the co-main event, Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev finally square off in a pivotal five-round bout. They were scheduled to fight in June, but Chimaev was forced out about a week before the fight due to illness. Whittaker went on to knock out Ikram Aliskerov, notching his second straight win.

Also on the main card is a light heavyweight bout between Magomed Ankalaev and Aleksandar Rakic; a featherweight fight pitting Lerone Murphy against Dan Ige; and a middleweight bout between Shara Magomedov and Armen Petrosyan.

This week’s Rampage was taped Wednesday night, October 23 in Salt Lake City, Utah at Maverik Center. Spoilers from the show are available here.

**********

Taped in Salt Lake City, Utah, home to the world’s largest Costco.

Undisputed Kingdom defeated Shane Taylor Promotions and  Gates of Agony in a three way match (8:54)

Roderick Strong joined the commentary team for the opener.

Matt Taven and Lee Morairty had a good sequence on the mat to start that was punctuated by a dropkick from Taven. – Renee Paquette interviewed Beef about Anthony Henry, his second cousin by marriage, his reluctant corner man who is injured. JD Drake showed up to promise to be in Beef’s corner tonight. There is some kind of ROH angle (I guess?) between Henry, Drake and Beef but I have no idea about that so this whole thing felt out of place.

– Paquette brought the Undisputed Era and The Beast Mortos together for Strong to try and recruit Mortos for the Undisputed Era.

Wayne avoided a moonsault off the apron on the floor. A distraction from Mother Wayne allowed Nick to catch Ricochet with a boot. Nick then dumped Ricochet into the crowd.

After a split-screen break, Ricochet started to mount his comeback. Ricochet hit a gamengiri, then took Wayne down with a twisting tope on the floor. Back in the ring, Ricochet hit a springboard crossbody and a standing shooting star press for a near fall.

After the match, Kenosuke Takeshita came out to the entrance stage to taunt Ricochet with his International Title belt.

During the main event, Ricochet v. Lio Rush and The Outrunners vs. MxM Collection were also announced for Collision.

WWE SmackDown live results: Cody Rhodes & Gunther go face-to-face

Nearly one week before they square off at Crown Jewel, undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will go face-to-face with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther on tonight’s WWE SmackDown from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The last time these two shared a ring was on the October 14th Raw where they exchanged verbal barbs before Rhodes invited Gunther to SmackDown. The two will meet for the ceremonial Crown Jewel Championship next Saturday in Saudi Arabia.

Carmelo Hayes and Andrade will go one-on-one in the finale of their recent best-of-seven series. United States Champion LA Knight will be the special guest referee.

After winning their respective triple threat matches last week, #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) will face the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) who debuted on last week’s show. The winner will earn a future Tag Team title shot against The Bloodline.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 PM EST.

**********

– The show opened with the Crown Jewel Championship case shown being brought into the arena. Gunther and Cody were also shown entering the building. Ditto for Motor City Machine Guns, #DIY and Randy Orton, the last of which featured Orton stopping on the way to the ring to talk to Paul Levesque in Guerrilla Position. Levesque motioned for Orton to go the ring.

The Randy Orton/Paul Levesque segment

Well, it was fun to have Levesque out there, and it was fun seeing Orton walk past him backstage before ultimately getting to the ring and calling Levesque out. They tried with the promo. Hard. Really hard. Noticeably hard. But I am interested in seeing what this means for how Owens approaches their match at Crown Jewel. If he’s going to be painted as a ruthless, angry fella, he better be both ruthless and angry and he better not hold back – especially after all this.

Orton noted how he wanted to get his hands on Kevin Owens, but it looks like Owens is off limits. Orton then invited Levesque to the ring. Orton said he thought Levesque was protecting Owens from Orton. The Triple H music then hit and Levesque was seen getting up from Guerrilla and Levesque appeared in the entranceway. Levesque said Orton never shows up to work on time and because of that, they had to “do this now.”

Orton yelled that Levesque is protecting Owens, but Levesque said he wasn’t protecting anybody. Levesque told Orton that the match isn’t going to happen and Orton kept yelling it is because Levesque is trying to protect Owens and finally Levesque shut orton up and said he was trying to protect Orton. The crowd chanted “RKO!” Levesque explained that Owens has never had a friend in this business. Levesque noted how Owens is all about nothing but business. Levesque said for the first time, Owens let his guard down and trusted Orton and Cody. Levesque worked in calling Orton a “miserable prick.” Levesque then noted how Cody and Orton turned on Owens.

Levesque said he talked to Owens and he doesn’t think Owens is the same Kevin Owens and he doesn’t want to put him in the ring with Orton. Levesque referenced how steel rods were just put into Orton’s back and he said he doesn’t want to see Orton go back on the shelf – perhaps permanently. Orton said none of that would happen and he didn’t ask “Paul Levesque” to come to the ring – instead, Orton wanted the Cerebral Assassin and The Game. Orton referenced how The Game used to beat the hell out of him, including in his front lawn. Orton asked Levesque what he would do if he was in Orton’s shoes. Orton said this was him talking man to man. Orton said Levesque knows what it’s like to have everything taken away from him and if Levesque was in Orton’s shoes, he would want to handle his business the only way he knows how – in the middle of the ring. Orton begged Levesque for the match against Owens.

Levesque said he hopes to God Orton knows what he’s asking for and noted how if Orton wants Owens at Crown Jewel, he’s got him. Levesque then left the ring after saying he hopes Orton protects himself at all times.

Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes ended in a No Contest [9:45]

Lame. Lame on every level. Lame on every single solitary level. Even the live crowd agreed as the finish fell flat and Knight, who is typically super-over everywhere he goes, got little to no response as he spoke on the microphone. WWE stumbled into a great wrestling-focused program with Andrade and Melo and this is how they blow it off? Obviously, this won’t be the real blow off, but to tease a Game 7 like that and then do this? It’s a betrayal of trust to any fan who bought into the Melo/Andrade series organically based almost exclusively on the fact that they had good wrestling matches. You could see this coming. But it was still dumb.

Knight was wearing his vest, sunglasses and his U.S. title during the match. Andrade went for a quick pin after a back elbow and got a two-count out of it. Hayes rolled to the outside and Hayes threw Andrade into the barricade. Back in the ring, Andrade retook control with some chops and stomps. Knight was yelling at Andrade and Hayes took advantage of it until Andrade simply pushed Hayes over the top rope. Andrade ran for a splash, but Knight stopped him to start a count. As a result, Andrade flipped over Knight and landed on Melo as the show went to a commercial break.

The show returned and there was an inverted Spanish Fly off the second rope, but both guys sold the effects. Knight, at this point, had his belt and sunglasses off. Hayes and Andrade traded blows until Hayes planted Andrade with a tilt-a-whirl face-buster for a two-count. “This is awesome!” chants began from the crowd. Andrade set up for The Message, but it turned into a Destroyer from Andrade onto Hayes. Andrade hit a double-knees in a corner and got a two-count out of it. When Hayes kicked out, he threw Andrade onto Knight, which meant Knight wasn’t free to count a pin. Melo then accidentally super-kicked Knight. Andrade went for Three Amigos, but it turned into a Melo planting Andrade. Knight then threw Hayes into the commentary table and hit a BFT on Andrade. Knight did the same to Melo.

Knight walked to the outside and rang the bell and grabbed a microphone. Knight said “to hell with Game 7.” Knight said he was the United States Champion and he was the winner of Game 7. Knight’s music hit and Knight walked to the back and the match was off.

**********

– Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton were talking backstage and Candice LaRae walked into the frame. LeRae said she’d take care of Jax’s Naomi problem and Stratton looked disgusted.

– Knight was walking backstage and walked into GM Nick Aldis, who was angry and booked Knight, Melo and Andrade in a triple threat for the U.S. title at Crown Jewel.

Naomi defeated Candice LeRae [8:53]

I was kind of hoping LeRae would somehow get the win, but it was not to be. As such, does this mean LeRae’s momentum is halted after that win last week? I hope not. Time will tell. As for this match, it was fine. It started slow and was a little clunky to start, but the women worked hard and got to the next gear by the time the finish came around, so good for them. I’d just prefer a better way to get out of this match, but those decisions are not mine to make.

LeRae had control early until Naomi hit a kick to the head. LeRae came back with a cross-body and a couple pin attempts. Naomi earned the upper hand with a kick and a Bulldog into the turnbuckle. Naomi went to the top and LeRae caught Naomi, planting her on the apron. The show then went to a commercial break.

The show returned and Naomi had control until LeRae pulled Naomi down by her hair. LeRae worked a ground-and-pound. Naomi fought back and planted LeRae to even things out. Naomi then landed a series of dropkicks and a Bulldog. Naomi went for another Bulldog, but LeRae countered and Naomi went to the outside. Indi Hartwell ran Naomi into a ring post and rolled Naomi into the ring. Bayley’s music hit and Bayley took Hartwell out. This distracted LeRae and Naomi hit her finish on LeRae for the win.

– Lin-Manuel Miranda was shown in the front row and he even gave the camera the Suck It sign. Cody’s music hit and at the 9 p.m. EST turn, we went to the Cody/Gunther segment.

The Cody/Gunther face-to-face

Undoubtedly the best segment of the night. This was great. Tell me where Gunther is telling lies and I’ll tell you that you’re wrong. He has such a way of keeping his badass-ness, taking pot shots and maintaining composure in such a unique way – a way that’s even kind of impossible in today’s world of smart wrestling fans. There is absolutely nothing anyone should ever change about that character. Cody, for his part, showed up, too, and this was a major improvement from last week. Good fire. Good verbal jabs. Good stuff all around.

As Cody was about to do the third (or fourth?) “Whoa!” inside the ring, Gunther’s music hit to ruin the fun, which was great. The crowd chanted “Cody!” Gunther asked Cody what he wanted to talk about, which was funny. Cody told Gunther he wanted to know why he wanted to be Crown Jewel Champion. Gunther said it was “totally unnecessary” to mention his daughter last week, so he clearly reads this website regularly. Gunther talked about how Cody finished his story and it was all for the legacy of Dusty Rhodes.

Gunther mocked Cody for asking for the “John Cena schedule,” just to live up to other standards. Gunther said Cody just loves the dramatics. Gunther said his only reason is himself and he is the greatest pro wrestler in the company and the crowd responded in kind. Gunther said he simply just wanted to live up to himself. Gunther asked Cody what the real reason was that he wanted the Crown Jewel Championship.

Cody responded by saying that was the dumbest question he’s ever been asked in a wrestling ring. Cody said none of it exists without all the fans. Cody then led the crowd in a “Whoa!” and he even counted it in. Cody said, “you bet your ass I’m dramatic,” and he said he was proud to be dramatic. He also celebrated the Cody Crybabies. Cody talked about he was making the media rounds and he realized that what Gunther was missing was the responsibility that came with being a champion. Gunther interrupted Cody and said he knows everything about responsibility. The crowd actually cheered.

Gunther told Cody he gets the same requests Cody does, but Gunther just tells them no because he has the guts to say no. Gunther said he has the guts to say no “to all of them,” referring to the fans, who booed. Gunther said the reason Cody doesn’t say no is because his “little story is over,” and that makes Cody a “gutless champion.” Gunther said the gutless champion will always be secondary to Gunther. Cody mocked Gunther for being a “ring general” and said he sees no general because he leads no one but himself.

Cody said his whole career has been built on guts and out of nowhere dropped down and hit Gunther with a punch. Ludwig Kaiser ran in and stopped Cody and as a result, Kaiser and Gunther attacked Cody. Gunther hit a lariat on Cody, but Randy Orton ran out and chased the heels out of the ring. The crowd chanted “Randy!” Cody’s music hit the end the segment.

– A video recapping last week’s Bloodline developments aired.

– A ton of women were arguing backstage. Adam Pearce, Ava and Aldis walked into the frame. Aldis said at Crown Jewel Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill will defend their tag titles against Damage CTRL, Piper Niven & Chelsea Green, and Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend in a Fatal Four-Way.

– Next week, Liv Morgan and Nia Jax will go face-to-face. Also, Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton will go up against Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser. Plus, the Fatal Four-Way for the women’s tag titles will take place on SmackDown – and not Crown Jewel.

Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) to become the No. 1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship [11:17]

This was a very good match, if not a tiny bit predictable. Perhaps the most interesting development is the inevitable dissension between Gargano and Ciampa. In a weird way, I’m hoping they aren’t pulling the trigger on a breakup yet, but at the same time, we know they both probably work better as singles acts. Either way, the tag action was great here and this was a big step up from last week’s debut match from MCMG. And good on them for it. All four guys felt like they had something to prove and the result was a very good tag team wrestling match. The Bloodline vs. MCMG should be a lot of fun.

Gargano and Shelley started the match. The two traded pin attempts and things restarted. Ciampa tagged in and before long, Sabin came in to hit Ciampa with a series of rapid-fire double-team moves. Gargano tagged in and #DIY hit their own double-team moves on Sabin. Gargano kicked Sabin’s head for a two-count. Gargano chopped Sabin and tagged in Ciampa, but Sabin tagged in Shelley. Things broke down and Ciampa was recipient of a Meet In The Middle from MCMG. Gargano hit a spear on Sabin and Ciampa worked over Shelley on the outside. Gargano and Ciampa celebrated and the show went to a commercial break.

Back from the break and Sabin was battling both Gargano and Ciampa. Ultimately, Shelley tagged in and the two worked over #DIY, complete with a wild double-team move that involved all four wrestlers. Sabin tagged in and lifted Gargano, but Gargano rolled Sabin up before kicking Sabin in the ear. Ciampa tagged in and hit an assisted Fairytale Ending. Ciampa landed a running knee on Sabin for a good near-fall. Gargano tagged in and they set up for a Meet In The Middle, but that resulted in multiple failed pin attempts. Gargano then accidentally super-kicked Ciampa. Shelley tagged in and they hit Skull & Bones to win the match.

After the match, Gargano and Ciampa argued a little on the outside of the ring. The Bloodline’s music hit and Solo Sikoa walked out with his crew as MCMG stood in the ring. The Bloodline walked to the ring and the show went to a break.

**********

– The show returned and Nick Aldis was in the ring. Aldis said the tag match would not happen tonight and the crowd chanted “OTC!” Sikoa told Brooklyn to “shut your mouth.” Sikoa said he just wanted to come out and introduce themselves to the No. 1 Contenders. The crowd booed loudly. Sikoa then did his “acknowledge me!” bit to Brooklyn and got a lot of heat for it. Sikoa welcomed MCMG to SmackDown and told MCMG to acknowledge Sikoa as their Tribal Chief. Sabin introduced MCMG and said they’d wrestle any place, anytime. Sikoa said that was funny and if they wanted to make an “impact” – which was funny – they could have the match now.

Aldis chimed in and said MCMG has given everything to the business and he’d be damned if he’d standby and let … Shelley interrupted Aldis and said Aldis knows more than anyone else what they put into the industry. Shelley said if they want a match right now, they can have it. Aldis asked MCMG if that’s what they want, they said yes and a match was made.

Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated The Bloodline (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. [7:27]

I love it. I don’t care that the Bloodline nonsense had to happen. I don’t care if it feels too soon. I don’t care if the title change is overshadowed. Sabin and Shelley deserve this and more and to see it happen in real time is almost surreal, especially if you’ve followed them all these years. Goodness, that was a lot of fun. This was a show that had a borderline terrible first hour and a borderline perfect second hour. Pro wrestling, man. There’s nothing like it.

The four guys brawled to begin the match, but Tonga and Loa dropkicked MCMG to take them down. The show went to its final commercial break. The show returned and Tonga was working over Shelley. Loa and Tonga went for a double splash, but Shelley moved and Jimmy Uso appeared to attack Sikoa and Fatu on the outside. Sikoa and Fatu quickly fought back and Roman Reigns’s music hit. Reigns then walked out and gave Fatu a Superman Punch. Reigns, Jimmy, Sikoa and Fatu fought to the back.

Sabin tagged in and Sabin worked over Tonga and hit a shotgun dropkick. The Bloodline fought back and moved the referee in the way of a splash. With the referees out, Tonga and Loa grabbed chairs. Another man in a hoodie appeared and it was Jey Uso. He took out Loga and threw him over the commentary table. Jey then hit Tonga with the chair and landed a spear on Tonga before revealing himself. MCMG set up their finisher, hit it and got the win.

After MCMG made it to the back, Jey was alone in the ring and Jimmy walked back out to the ring. Jimmy and Jey hugged hard in the middle of the ring. Roman stood in the entranceway and watched. Roman looked contemplative as the show went off the air.

AJ Francis defeated Frankie Kazarian, Sami Callihan, Laredo Kid, Jake Something and Jason Hotch in a Six-Way “Call Your Shot” Scramble

After the recap package for last week’s show airs, we shoot inside the Impact Zone where Sami Callihan makes his way to the ring, which is filled up with Frankie Kazarian, AJ Francis, Laredo Kid, Jake Something and Jason Hotch.

As soon as the bell sounds, Kid takes out Kazarian and starts with fast-paced offense. Each guy gets a moment in the showcase spotlight, culminating in AJ Francis being the last man left standing in the ring, while everyone else brawls on the floor.

Francis teases a big dive to the floor, but decides against it. Callihan starts to take control of the offense in the ring. He goes for a big dive, but is cut off by Hotch. Slowly but surely, everyone ends up back in the ring.

We start to see a number of near falls, with everyone getting a turn at a two-count along the way. Callihan hits a Cactus Driver ’97 for a close two-count, which Francis breaks up and then steals the cover for the win himself.

With the win, Francis will be the No. 20 spot in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at TNA Bound For Glory. Kazarian will be No. 1.

Gia Miller Interviews Jonathan Gresham

Backstage, Gia Miller is standing by with Jonathan Gresham. She asks him about the recent change in attitude that Josh Alexander has had ahead of their one-on-one showdown later in the show. Gresham says he can relate to it. He then remembered who the f**k he is. The best technical wrestler in the world.

He’s ready to get back everything he lost. He doesn’t care about Alexander’s problems or attitude. All he cares about is stepping into the ring with another man who has earned the reputation, like he has, of being one of the best wrestlers in the world. Gresham calls this a comeback. We head to a commercial break.

Introducing Heather By Elegance

Mike Santana vignette where he takes us through a tour of the Lower East Side of New York in his childhood neighborhood. He talks about the significance of the area and how big of a role it played in his life and wrestling career.

When that wraps up, we shoot back inside the Impact Zone, which is decked out for the next segment, the unveiling of Heather Reckless Makeover by Elegance by Ash By Elegance and George Iceman. We see some candles on a table, bottles on ice, etc.

Iceman does a long build-up and then introduces whom he refers to as “Heather By Elegance.” Out comes Heather Reckless looking dolled up. Matthew Rehwoldt does an excellent job on commentary talking about being breathless and near-tears at the sight of the new and improved Heather By Elegance.

Heather loses her breath when Iceman shows her a mirror so she can see herself. He wants to celebrate with a glass of champagne. As they clang glasses, the theme for Xia Brookside hits to spoil the party. Out she comes with a microphone in-hand.

Xia warns them that karma has a way of coming back at you. With that said, Brinley Reece attacks from behind. Reece and Brookside dunk Heather and Ash’s faces in the bowls of champagne punch. After this wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

Josh Alexander (w/ Sinner & Saint) defeated Jonathan Gresham

When the show returns from the break, Josh Alexander’s theme hits and “The Walking Weapon” comes out accompanied by Sinner & Saint. He settles in the ring and the entrance tune for his opponent hits. “The Octopus” Jonathan Gresham emerges.

The bell sounds and Gresham starts off with a sign of honor. Alexander wants nothing to do with it. The two circle and Alexander backs Gresham into the corner of the ring. The two hit the mat with Alexander looking for a submission, but Gresham avoids it and pops back up.

As Alexander dominates on offense, he stops and tells Sinner & Saint at ringside to keep an eye on what he is doing so they can learn his veteran ways. The show heads into a mid-match commercial break as Gresham begins fighting back into competitive form.

When the show returns, Alexander is doing the old Razor Ramon insult-to-injury foot slap as Gresham tries to get back to his feet. It angers “The Octopus,” as one would expect, and he gets back to his feet and blasts Alexander with some stiff forearms and wild kicks.

Gresham begins focusing his offensive attack on the knee of Alexander. The crowd starts to come to life in the background as he takes over. Gresham knocks Alexander to the floor and follows up with four big dives.

None put him down, so he tries for a fifth. Alexander moves, Gresham pumps the breaks and then hits an incredible moonsault off the ropes in the corner to the floor. At ringside, Gresham beats down Sinner & Saint before rolling back into the ring.

Gresham slips on a slingshot attempt on the ropes, but keeps control of the lead. Alexander fights back and looks for a C4 Spike, but Gresham avoids it. Alexander gets some help in the form of involvement from Sinner & Saint, which leads to him scoring the pin.

Once the match wraps up, Alexander, Sinner & Saint begin a three-on-one attack of Gresham until Alexander’s opponent for Saturday’s TNA Bound For Glory, Steve Maclin, hits the ring. He tries to make the save, but ends up getting blasted with a steel chair by Alexander.

Alexander zip-ties Maclin’s hands behind him as he, Sinner & Saint continue their assault. They zip-tied his hands to the ring ropes and continue hitting a defenseless Maclin. Security tries to run down to intervene.

Alexander, Sinner & Saint kick at them to keep them from entering the ring. Maclin is smiling while locked to the ropes staring at Alexander holding a chair. Sami Callihan and Deaner end up hitting the ring with Ace Steele to finally put an end to the madness. We head to another commercial break.

Wendy Choo (w/ Rosemary) defeated Jody Threat

When the show returns from the break, we see another vignette with Mike Santana in a different part of New York talking about his “dead or in jail” background, while stressing the fact that Moose forgot where he came from. He vows to beat him down at Bound For Glory.

Back inside the Impact Zone, Wendy Choo’s theme hits and out comes the WWE NXT Superstar accompanied by Rosemary for singles action in our next match of the evening. Jody Threat makes her way out alone as the commentators inform us Dani Luna is not here tonight due to personal issues.

After some back-and-forth action, Threat quickly realizes she’s going to need eyes in the back of her head with Rosemary at ringside and no Dani Luna to back her up. We see Choo dominate the majority of the match. Just as Threat took over and seemed to have it won, Rosemary throws Choo’s pillow in the ring. The distraction leads to Choo picking up the win.

The Hardys & ABC defeated The System (w/ Alisha Edwards)

Backstage, we see The System standing by. Alisha Edwards, as always, asks if we want to know something. Moose then responds to the vignettes from Mike Santana addressing him ahead of their Bound For Glory showdown this Saturday. After this wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

When the show returns, we see Matthew Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan on-camera at the commentary desk. They run down the lineup for this Saturday’s Bound For Glory as the official match graphics flash on the screen.

After that wraps up, where Ash & Heather By Elegance vs. Xia Brookside & Brinley Reece is announced for the Countdown to Bound For Glory pre-show at 6:45pm EST., and then The System’s theme hits. Out comes the team of Moose, JDC, Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards, accompanied by Alisha Edwards.

The Hardys and ABC make their respective entrances next. Chris Bey and Moose kick things off for their respective teams. We see some high spots from the ring to the floor before the commentators lead the show into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues in the ring.

When the show returns, Jeff Hardy is being beaten down by JDC. The System keeps Jeff isolated on their side of the ring, and begin utilizing frequent tags to keep a fresh man on him at all times. Alisha Edwards even gets some cheap shots in from ringside.

Matt Hardy finally gets the hot tag and helps his team shift the offensive momentum in their favor. Fans in the Impact Zone come to life in the background with loud “Delete! Delete! Delete!” chants. As Alisha Edwards gets involved again at ringside, pulling down the ropes, The System take control of the offense again.

On that note, the show heads into yet another mid-match commercial break as the match continues. When the show returns from the break, the match is still in progress, and ultimately culminates with ABC and The Hardys getting the win.

After the match, The System attack from behind. Mike Santana comes out with a giant chain to help out, but ends up getting hit by Alisha with a kendo stick. It doesn’t hurt him, but it distracts him as he was closing in on Moose.

Once he turned, Moose attacked him and he ended up just another victim with the rest of ABC and The Hardys. The System stand tall after the prolonged post-match beatdown and then the show heads into another commercial break.

Dual Contract Signing For TNA Bound For Glory 2024

It’s main event (segment) time!

When the show returns, the TNA Director of Authority, Santino Marella, is in the ring. He wastes no time in introducing the participants for the dual contract signing for TNA Bound For Glory 2024. Out first comes the challenger for the TNA Knockouts Championship match, Masha Slamovich.

Slamovich takes a seat at the table where the TNA Knockouts and TNA World Championships are sitting. Santino then introduces Joe Hendry, the challenger for the men’s world title main event at TNA Bound For Glory 2024.

The fans loudly sing along with Hendry’s catchy-ass viral theme song as he settles in. Santino does the wave with the fans in the Impact Zone. After the dramatic turn and subsequent “We believe! We believe!” chants from the crowd, Hendry takes a seat.

Santino then introduces the first champion, the TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. Out comes “The Juggernaut” to a decent crowd reaction. The TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth is out next and he takes his seat.

Slamovich and Grace speak first. Grace says she’s already said everything that needs to be said. She then talks about tonight being a full circle moment for her. She mentions signing her first contract years ago and then puts her John Hancock on the paperwork for Saturday’s defense.

Hendry talks next and mentions how many have called him a flash in the pan. He talks about being a faceless nobody years ago in the role of a lawyer. He talks about how people now know his name and not only do they know it, they believe in it.

Fans chant “We believe! We believe!” Hendry vows Saturday marks the crowning of a new champion. He signs the dotted line on his contract. Nemeth then takes his turn on the mic and tells Hendry that was a sweet story. He tells Hendry he needs him to focus on only him.

Not the naysayers or those who call him a flash in the pan. He doesn’t want him listening to any of those guys. He wants him focused on the main event at TNA Bound For Glory 2024. Nemeth says he doesn’t plan on losing his title, and then signs his contract.

Santino Marella is happy that everything went down without issue. He tries to wrap things up on that happy note, but of course things weren’t over just yet. Frankie Kazarian’s theme hits and out comes the self-proclaimed “King of TNA,” and special referee for the Hendry-Nemeth title tilt at Bound For Glory.

Kazarian apologizes for breaking up the lovefest and then mentions how the star is here. Kazarian talks about going to a referee academy and getting his referee license. He says he went over Santino’s head and talked to Anthem executives.

He says with them he is respected. He is a God. A king. Kazarian makes a crack at Grace and Slamovich, which prompts them to get offended and stand up. Kazarian plays it off as fans chant “Kick his ass!” Kaz tells Santino to hold his glasses and make himself useful. He calls him a stooge.

Kazarian says at Bound For Glory, his little toy badge doesn’t mean a damn thing, because he’s not the law. Kazarian is. So that brings him to the TNA World Champion and his challenger. He assures them he’ll call things down the middle as a fair impartial referee.

He says one thing is for sure — the right man is going to walk out as the TNA World Champion. Nemeth and Hendry bounce Kazarian’s head off the contract signing table. Grace holds Kazarian’s arms behind him. Hendry points to Santino to handle it. Kazarian spits in Santino’s face while still being held.

Santino slaps on his Cobra sock puppet on his hand and blasts Kazarian. Grace, Slamovich, Nemeth and Hendry all grab a limb and at the same time, the four hoist him up and slam him down through the contract signing tables. Afterwards, Nemeth and Grace grab their respective titles and pose with them in face-offs across from Hendry and Slamovich.

Fans chant “TNA! TNA! TNA!” as Hannifan wraps things up on commentary with one final plug for Saturday night’s TNA Bound For Glory 2024. That’s how this week’s show wraps up.

Ring of Honor TV live results: Athena Women’s World title celebration

Reigning Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena will celebrate her record-breaking reign on tonight’s ROH on HonorClub.

Athena has surpassed Samoa Joe as the longest-reigning champion in company history and will be joined by minions Billie Starkz and Lexy Nair to celebrate her accomplishments.

After earning a men’s TV title match last week, Komander will challenge current ROH TV Champion Brian Cage. Komander is looking for his first title of any kind in AEW or ROH while this is Cage’s first defense of the gold he won earlier this month.

CMLL’s Reyna Isis will make her promotional debut as she battles Viva Van.

Rocky Romero will challenge Brandon Cutler of The Elite.

The show will feature two tag team matches as the Gates of Agony face The Infantry while Lee Johnson & EJ Nduka team up for the very first time.

This week’s action was taped in San Jose, California.

**********

ROH on HonorClub Episode 87 hit the air with big news! “The Learning Tree” Chris Jericho won a Ladder War against Mark Briscoe on Dynamite this past Wednesday (with a little help from one “Large William”, aka Big Bill) making him the new Ring of Honor World Champion! What this means for ROH as whole remains to be seen, but it’s big big news!

Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) defeated The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean)

With ROH TV Champion Brian Cage occupied elsewhere, his Cage of Agony partners reverted back to “Gates” to take on the Infantry. Dean and Bravo came in off of losses to STP and The Outrunners, so they were looking to right the ship here. Kaun and Liona for their part have to go back to August for their last win as a duo. Both teams had things to prove and it showed.

Kaun and Bravo started things off and it was an immediate case of strength vs agility. Kaun was twice as wide as the lighter Bravo, but the speed factor kept the two pretty even in the early going. Liona tagged in and flattened Bravo who desperately looked for a tag to Dean. Once he got it, Dean was all over Liona… right up until he ran face-first into a superkick.

From there the Gates took control. A series of sentons crushed Dean in the middle of the ring. Dean caused a distraction, allowing Bravo to throw Kaun into the barricade on the outside, softening him up. The Infantry isolated him from Liona and began raining down chops in the corner.

Off of a hot tag, Liona jumped in and cleaned house. At one point he had BOTH members of the Infantry on his shoulders for big powerslams. A miscommunication caused Liona to knock Kaun off the ring apron and the Infantry tried a double team, but Liona was too much for them. Kaun got back in and put Dean down for the count, extending the Infantry’s losing streak.

Reyna Isis defeated Viva Van

Poor, poor Viva Van. Van debuted in ROH on May 27th, 2022. She has had matches against Athena, Harley Cameron, Red Velvet and just last week, Yuka Sakazaki. All losses. In fact, Van has yet to win a match in ROH. Isis was actually in the same boat, but had an excuse as this was her ROH Debut. No matter what though, one woman was going to erase the “0” from the win column in her stats with this match.

The two were pretty evenly matched in size and power. Holds and strikes were exchanged during a prolonged feeling-out process until Van ate a big knee, causing my six year old to exclaim “Oh, Viva Van!”

Isis hung Van up in a tree of woe and driver her knees into her midsection. Van tried to get back into it with a spinning heel kick, but couldn’t land anything that kept Isis down for any length of time. Van changed her tactics and tried a reverse surfboard, but Isis wouldn’t quit.

Isis caught Van with a high crossbody followed by dual headbutts to regain momentum. A big guillotine leg drop finished off Van, who’s still looking for her first win in ROH.

-Backstage Leyla Hirsch cut a promo, revealing that she has been recovering from a shoulder injury. She’s coming back though, so everyone get ready because she wants championships.

Rocky Romero (w/Dunkson, mascot of the Stockton Kings basketball team) defeated Brandon Cutler

Romero was taking a break from his Conglomeration duties this week after his group beat The Elite on Dynamite in a trios match on the Oct 16th edition of Dynamite. Cutler on the other hand has been racking up the losses since getting a win over Evil Uno, back in May. Preston Vance, Colt Cabana, Katsuyori Shibata and even Jacoby Watts have managed to get Cutler’s shoulders to the mat.

Cutler jawed off the top, begging Romero to shake his hand. He did that, and then crushed him with a lariat. Cutler was able to keep up with Romero, but Romero was clearly in control. He had a counter and an offensive move for everything Cutler had in his bag of tricks.

Cutler managed to worm his way into control of the match with a sleeper hold. Romero fought out of it though, but Cutler missed a move from the top ropes and tried to bail to the outside. Romero followed with a big splash and threw him back into the ring.

Cutler tried to use the ropes to steal a pin, but Dunkston pointed it out to the Ref. Cutler began yelling at Dunkston, allowing Romero an opening to hit a flipping DDT and get the 1-2-3 for the win.

LEEJ (Lee Johnson and EJ Nduka) defeated Jiah Jewell and Bret Hankins

Johnson and Nduka have been pals for a long time, but this will mark the first time they have teamed up in ROH. Questionable team names aside, this promised to be a barn burner, showing off Johnson’s technical skills and Nduka’s sheer power. Nduka got a huge pop from the crowd as the two headed to the ring. Jewell and Hankins, who were either two local wrestlers, or part of the ring crew, looked comically small and thin in the ring with LEEJ.

Surprising no one, Johnson started off with Hankins and wrestled cicles around him. Nduka then tagged in to face Jewell and he hit him so hard his hairline receded. This wasn’t a David vs Goliath story it was more like a small twig vs Goliath.

Jewell and Hankins actually managed to isolate Johnson in the corner and get a little bit of offense in. It didn’t last long though as a hot tag to Nduka resulted in the spontaneous explosion of both competitors. Not really, but he hit them so hard both appeared to do 450 spins in midair. Johnson and Nduka hit a spinebuster/neckbreaker combo on what was left of Jewell and got the pin.

Record-Breaking Celebration for ROH Women’s World Champion Athena

Back in September, Athena broke Samoa Joe’s record of 684 days (as of this writing) as champion in Ring of Honor. Since then, Minions Lexy Nair and Billie Starkz have been planning a massive celebration for the Forever Champion (that Athena really wanted Ja Rule to be part of for some reason). Unfortunately, work kept getting in the way with matches, Starkz’ tumbling down the Minion Rankings and Abadon stalking Athena with her eyes on the title.

To start things off, ROH showed a Classic Match: Athena vs then-ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez. The match was from December 10, 2022 at that year’s Final Battle PPV event. Obviously, Athena came out the winner and began her 684+ day reign as Champion and it was a really fun match!

Back in the here and now though, Billie Starkz had used the time to set up a ton of balloons, a store-bought cake (that per Wrestling Law, must end up on someone’s face) and decorations in the ring. Athena came down to her celebration still locked to Lexy Nair for “her protection” from Abadon. The MIT’s in the ring broke into a dance party and Athena called out that it was a pretty weak party. Where was Ja Rule?!? Athena sent all minions except Starkz and Nair to the back in disgust.

Athena lamented that she doesn’t get the respect she deserves, even from her own mother who shose to have “major surgery” instead of coming to her daughter’s Celebration. Athena clamied she was under-appreciated and deserved more than the crummy party. Athena blamed Starkz for all of it, saying she was jealous. Athena got in Starkz face and she grabbed the mic from her.

Starkz pushed Athena over and proclaimed “I’m done!” before leaving the ring and the party! Nair then tried to get the party back on track by unveiling a modified ROH Women’s Title with Athena’s picture on it. AND IT SPINS!

Suddenly, Abadon’s music hit and Nair dove out of the ring. Athena got ready to be jumped, but… nothing happened. The music faded out, and when Athena went to pull Nair back into the ring via chain, it was ABADON who appeared in the other cuff!

Abadon beat up the champion with a Black Dahlia, then smashed the cake on Athena’s face, fulfilling the prophecy and leaving her laying in the ring.

ROH World Television Title Match: Brian Cage (c) defeated Komander (w/Alex Abrahantes)

I’m beginning to think that Cage just doesn’t like Luchadores. Or at least someone on the booking team doesn’t like luchadores, because they keep getting sent to be thrown at the ground repeatedly by Cage. In this match, Cage’s ROH TV Title was on the line though, and Komander, who picked up a win over Willie Mack last week, would love to add that title to his list of accomplishments.

Cage arrived in a rather subdued manner, in plain black trunks. He wasn’t wasting time though, throwing Komander into the corner and drilling him with some big elbows. Kmander tried to battle back but every time he got a little momentum, Gage threw him at the ground a bunch.

Cage began showing off, as he does, catching Komander mid air and curling him like dumbells (or he was cuddling him. It was hard to tell). Cage then picked up Komander and threw him out of the ring like a sack of potatoes, causing my six year old to exclaim “Oh no, Brian Cage!!”

Cage then reversed his own move by picking up Komander and throwing him back INTO the ring. Taking his time and doing a little posing on the way back into the ring, Cage accidentally gave Komander an opening for some spinning kicks. That enraged, uh, Cage, and he got sloppy letting Komander land a 360 hurricanrana.

Komander had one last burst of energy, hitting a 450 splash from the top rope, but Cage kicked out at one. Komander tried moonsault instead, but Cage caught him and powerbombed him a half dozen times, ending with a modified F-5 (aka, he threw him at the ground a lot). Komander was done after that, and Cage got the pin and retained the title.

Great show this week!

AEW Dynamite comes on the air with footage of The BCC standing tall at WrestleDream with Jon Moxley questioning what the new paradigm is in AEW, as they all work for him now. They continue to run rampant as The Elite were shown turning their backs to the carnage last week. Moxley said imagine what they all could become, as tonight, a little piece of someone will be destroyed for the greater good. Moxley hops in the back of the pickup truck with the rest of the crew in the desert and drives off. The AEW locker room is awaiting The BCC to arrive in the parking lot, as it consisted of The Conglomeration, Top Flight, Action Andretti, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, The Butcher & Dark Order.

Excalibur welcomes us to the show alongside Daddy Magic Matt Menard, as Tony Schiavone is in the ring and introduces Hangman Adam Page to the ring to address what happened in the main event last week.

Schiavone brings up Page losing to Switchblade Jay White at WrestleDream and costing White his match with Christian Cage last week. Page rips the microphone away and mentioned dropping White with the Switchblade with a Buckshot, nearly ending Juice Robinson’s career and beating Austin Gunn so badly he can’t remember his brother’s name. Right on cue, Colten Gunn attacked Page from behind, as the brawl spilled outside, where Gunn was backdropped over the barricade. Back in the ring, Page took off his belt and went to choke out Gunn until White & Robinson made the save, as White shot a double leg, but Page escaped. Page was limping big time from the brawl with Gunn, as White said he can hobble away, but he can’t hide. White knows how much that leg hurts Page, as does the fact that he has Page’s number. The banner reads All Elite Wrestling, but Page can cover up his shortcomings with blood, barbed wire and fire as he pleases, when the bell rings, he’ll never measure up to the Switchblade. They haven’t seen the last of each other, so Page can ice his leg and they’ll see one another real soon.

Shelton Benjamin (w/MVP) defeated Sammy Guevara

(I enjoyed this while it lasted, as Guevara got off quite a bit of offense in this. Benjamin needed a strong showing before his match with Swerve Strickland next week and he got to show off a lot of his power once again. Guevara landed pretty rough on the springboard finish and seemed to hold his ankle, so I hope that’s nothing serious.)

Wasting no time, Benjamin used his size to completely launch Guevara in the air at the bell. Guevara avoided a stalling vertical suplex, turning it into his double leapfrog dropkick before low bridging Benjmain outside, connecting with a top rope moonsault. Guevara wanted another dive, but MVP distracted him long enough for Benjamin to recover, catch the dive and hurl Guevara over his head with a suplex onto the stage into commercial.

It was all Benjamin during the break, as he took Guevara to Suplex City with a series of German suplexes. Guevara finally got off a near fall off a counter to a T-Bone, as a thrust kick trapped Benjamin in the ropes and a pump knee sent him outside. Guevara hit a corkscrew dive before back inside, tried another springboard, but Benjamin side stepped, wanted a German, but Guevara landed on his feet. Pop-up cutter got only a one for Guevara, who tried a springboard, only for Benjamin to hit a superkick in mid-air. One more superkick led to a step-up corner knee and T-Bone suplex for the win.

-Renee Paquette approaches Mariah May, who walks out of the locker room with a suitcase. It’s Anna Jay’s and she opens and tosses it down the hallway. May said Jay doesn’t belong in the same ring with her, let alone the locker room. Jay runs in and they start to brawl and Christopher Daniels is there within a split second to separate them.

Kyle Fletcher Explains His Actions

Tony Schiavone welcomes Fletcher & Don Callis to the ring, as they are met with loud boos from the crowd. Fletcher said the fans can boo all they want, but the only person he’s here to talk to, is Will Ospreay. 11 days since Ospreay lost his International Title, hobbled up in a hospital due to the herniated disc he doesn’t tell anyone about. Fletcher said the idiot fans are to blame just as much as Ospreay, as they said he was the next big thing with the brightest future in pro wrestling. Then Ospreay showed up and they started calling Fletcher the next Will Ospreay. The inbred Americans said Fletcher looked, sounded and wrestled like Ospreay, which he took as an insult, as he’s better than Ospreay in every single way. Back in 2021, when Fletcher joined United Empire, Ospreay was the king with a killer instinct. The crowd chants for him to wrap it up, as Fletcher reminds them that Don Callis has bought him all the TV time he wants, so they will listen to him.

Fletcher brings up Okada bringing in Ospreay to New Japan, but what did he do, he stabbed Okada in the back. Fletcher brought up Kenny Omega leaving New Japan and Ospreay stepping up as the biggest foreigner there. Once fans started comparing Ospreay to Omega, Ospreay did what Fletcher did, use the screwdriver to prove his point, it’s the lesson that Ospreay taught Fletcher. Don Callis made Fletcher realize that Ospreay never wanted him to realize his potential, as that’s the person Ospreay is, selfish. He’ll give Ospreay one chance to save face next week, ignoring doctor’s orders, meeting him in the ring before sending him back to the hospital much longer than 11 days with Tiger Driver after Tiger Driver. Fletcher will stand tall as The Proto-star, who will do so by being nothing like Will Ospreay. Callis hands Fletcher a razor, as he screamed that he’s nothing like Ospreay and shaves his head. This was an excellent promo from Fletcher, one that got a lot of heat.

-Footage of Konosuke Takeshita defending the International Title at the Maple Leaf Pro show against Josh Alexander was shown. Ricochet made the save and taking out Takeshita with a dive, as we go to Renee Paquette backstage with Ricochet, who said he’s a man of his word, saying he’d show up anywhere to get his hands on Takeshita. Despite not being pinned by Takeshita, it’s been him screwing him out of the title twice, so he challenges Takeshita to show up on Rampage and prove that he’s out of this world. MVP walks in with a business card saying new company, new beginnings and compliments Ricochet on his suit, as he gives a long look at the business card.

ROH TV Champion Brian Cage & Lance Archer won a squash match

Don Callis was on commentary long enough to tell us this is the biggest tag team in wrestling before heading to the ring. We were never told who the opponents were, as a chokeslam/powerbomb combo won the match in about 30 seconds.

The AEW crew is still in the parking waiting for the BCC as Chuck Taylor walks up and tells The Conglomeration that Briscoe’s match is next. Taylor stops Orange Cassidy and brings up living together until AEW came along. He doesn’t know who has what it takes to stand up to the BCC, but knows that Cassidy does, so it’s about damn time he shows it. They walk off together, as Excalibur said that was tough love from Taylor, who is a backstage producer now. I’ve missed seeing Taylor on TV, whose career we’re informed is over thanks to Trent Beretta, as this was another person trying to make Cassidy realize he can be the face of AEW.

Chris Jericho defeated Mark Briscoe in a Ladder War to win the ROH World Title

(This was a fun chaotic ladder match with some wild bumps by both. A good way to get the title off Briscoe without taking a pin. I’d much prefer Briscoe as solely an AEW guy moving forward, as he’s done everything he could in ROH, so having Jericho back as champion of that brand is fine to go back to. They should keep Jericho on ROH for a while though. Let him be the face of ROH and be The Nueve, as he already seemingly has his first challenger in Ishii.)

Briscoe chucked a ladder at Jericho from the floor to the ring and shoulder tackled him off the apron through two tables. Briscoe could end it now, but commentary brings up opting for punishment due to Jericho bringing up Jay Briscoe’s name. Jericho battled back with a suplex on the floor and smacked Briscoe with a piece of the broken table. Both men battle on the apron before Briscoe set up Jericho onto a ladder, tried a dive, but crashed and burned badly, going right through the ladder. Jericho set up a pretty small ladder to climb, so Briscoe easily recovered quick enough to put a stop to it. Jericho darted the ladder into Briscoe’s face and he cam up bleeding as things went to commercial.

Back from break, Jericho is climbing for the title, but Briscoe set up a ladder in the corner and hit a Death Valley Driver on Jericho through it. Briscoe slowly climbed to the corner, but Jericho cut him off with a ladder. Briscoe pie-faced Jericho down holding the ladder and hit a follow-up senton. Opting for another table gave Jericho time to climb for the belt again, as a slug-fest ensued near the top. Briscoe had his face smashed against the top, fell off, but was able to get up in time to send Jericho crashing down into the match reset.

Jericho tried a bulldog, but was crotched into a corner ladder. Briscoe fired up, set the table up with Jericho on top before climbing the big ladder, looking for a Froggy Bow, but Bryan Keith sprinted out and climbed the ladder. Rocky Romero ran out with a kendo stick and chased Keith off, as Briscoe hit the Froggy Bow after standing on the tippy top of the ladder. Jericho smacked his head badly on another ladder laying in the ring, as Briscoe connected on a Jay Driller before starting his climb. Big Bill appeared and chokeslammed Briscoe off the ladder to the floor through two tables. Bill placed Jericho on his shoulders in a fireman’s carry and climbed the ladder, allowing Jericho to grab the title.

Jericho celebrated for about 10 seconds until Tomohiro Ishii walked out with Romero to crash the party. They had a stare down from the ramp, as Jericho clutched the title while Briscoe was out on the floor.

The Undisputed Kingdom Call Out MJF

Adam Cole came out and was about to start Storytime with Adam Cole when he was cut off by a screaming Roderick Strong with The Kingdom, which I can only imagine drove people nuts hearing “ADAM!” again. Strong said MJF used Cole and the Adam Cole brand in order to make the fans care about him. MJF didn’t even check in on Cole once when he was injured, but The Kingdom & Strong did. Mike Bennett said he knows MJF believes Undisputed Kingdom was formed to because of him, but their friendship has always been way bigger than Max, they started this together, they’re going to finish it. Matt Taven said a year ago they said yes to the plan before Cole even finished his first sentence. The best moments of his life has been when they’re all together. Strong said he’s proud of Cole, who worked his ass off this past year to get back from that ankle injury. More importantly, he’s proud to get rid of Max, together and said he wants Max first. Cole said Strong is damn right, they’re going to finish what they started one way or another, so how about tonight, they all give MJF an Undisputed ass whopping?

MJF is shown on the big screen getting massaged on a table and asked if Cole remembered about the revenge he was dangling over him last week. Cole will never get his hands on MJF, but tells both Cole & Strong, whoever wins three matches first, will get a match with MJF at Full Gear. MJF said he’s not going to show up until Full Gear and wishes whoever will be there, they’ll get their happy ending, he knows he will, as MJF looks up at the masseuse. The Undisputed Kingdom all hug and said it doesn’t matter how many matches they have to win, they’ll do it, as we see Kyle O’Reilly looking on from backstage.

-A video package of Penelope Ford explaining her actions on why she attacked Jamie Hayter a few weeks ago. Hayter teamed with Ford in her last match two years ago and she’s back to remind people just who the hell she is. Renee Paquette is backstage with Hayter who said she listened to everything Ford said and it’s all BS. Hayter slept on floors, had a minus in her bank account, wrestling in front of 20 drunk men. Hayter said she’ll make Ford the victim of her return and issues a challenge two weeks from tonight.

The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) defeated Kevin Koa, Jaden Monroe & Puerata de la Muerte

Black immediately hit The End kick on one Muerte, as Matthews tagged in, hit a double stomp on the arm of a terrified Koa, who managed a strike to escape. Tag to Monroe, as he suffered a series of offense until Koa was back in and got steamrolled by King. Double pop-up knee from Black & Matthews, who followed up with a Curb Stomp for the win.

Matthews took the mic and said now that he’s cleared, next week, Buddy Matthews vs. Adam Cole Bay-Bay.

-Adam Cole approached Matthews backstage and asked if he has anything else say? Matthews called him fragile and walked away.

Kamille (w/Mercedes Mone) defeated Queen Aminata

(Another week where Aminata looked very good, even in defeat. Like I said last week in her match with Mone, Aminata needs some wins, soon. She’s in this spot where she loses higher profile matches way too often. Maybe have a tag match soon with Statlander against these two and give Aminata a win that way? In any case, Statlander & Kamille are ready to clash next week, so I know why Kamille needed the win here more than Aminata.)

After Kamille showed off her power early, Aminata was able to battled back with a series of pin attempts before running into a brutal back breaker. Kamille stood tall and controlled the action throughout commercial break, keeping Aminata grounded.

Aminata dodged a leg lariat when things returned, as a violent running elbow popped Kamille right in the face. A snap neckbreaker led to a wild running boot in the ropes to get a near fall, the most trouble we’ve seen Kamille in so far in AEW. Aminata wrapped up Kamille like a pretzel, but Kamille bridged into a two count. Kamille tried a powerbomb, but Aminata rolled through for another near fall. Kamille managed a Torture Rack spun into a sit-out slam, but Aminata kicked out. Mone demanded Kamille finish her, as a really awkward spinning reverse neckbreaker won it.

Mone walked in and celebrated with Kamille until Kris Statlander came to the ring for a face-off ahead of the match next week. Mone tried to trash talk and hit a cheap shot, which Statlander no sold and fought both off easily until Mone grabbed the leg, allowing Kamille to hit the spinning neckbreaker to stand tall with the TBS Champion.

-A car arrives to the arena and all of The AEW guys waiting for the BCC are shown demanding they get out of the car. It’s The Patriarchy, as Christian Cage tells them all to back off until he sees Kip Sabian trying to sneak away, but the chase was on, as Cage, Nick & Shayna Wayne all chased Sabian to the ring.

HOOK is shown storming backstage, as Renee Paquette asks if he knows who attacked his father and he said the scumbag in the ring right now. Commentary questions who of the four in the ring that could be, as HOOK hit the ring and was about to attack Cage when Sabian hit a low blow. Cage said he knows why Sabian took his pen and prevent him from cashing in his AEW Title shot a few weeks ago, but he’ll deal with him later, so stand in the corner. Nick Wayne tried Wayne’s World once, but HOOK got REDRUM, as Cage hit him in the back with the case holding the World Title contract. Wayne hit Wayne’s World and Cage hit the Killswitch on the case. Cage whispered to “Tyler” that this isn’t what he thinks it is, it’s not what it seems, as The Patriarchy walk off with Sabian as HOOK is left to slowly recover.

Daniel Garcia & Private Party defeated The Elite (Jack Perry, Matthew & Nicholas Jackson)

(Party match main event that had the future challengers for the TNT & Tag Titles getting the win, with the post-match being the far bigger story. Private Party set the stips for their rematch next week, but also The BCC taking out Orange Cassidy’s best friend, Chuck Taylor to end the show. I’m glad Cassidy wasn’t part of the whole crew who were just made to look like dorks waiting in the parking lot the entire night, as The BCC outsmarted about 12 different guys with ease in that regard. I’m looking forward to seeing the fire lit under Cassidy now that his best friend is out of commission.)

Garcia & Perry brawl, as Zay & Quen wipe out The Bucks with dueling dives as the match officially begins. Perry goes for the eyes on Garcia, who fights off Matthew, until both The Bucks & Private Party hit double clotheslines, but all kip up at the same time. Poetry in Motion on Perry & Matthew, as we’re shown the AEW crew still waiting in the parking lot for the BCC, almost 2 hours later. Perry connected with a draping DDT off the apron on Garcia, as simultaneously The Bucks hit their double team hung up senton on Zay as things went to picture in picture.

Back from break, Stokely Hathaway is in the front row talking trash to Zay, as commentary talks about Hathaway not having a purpose if he has no one to manage. Garcia was trying for the hot tag, but Matthew pulled him from the apron at the last second and sent him to the guard rail. Perry connected with a powerbomb on Garcia through the time keepers table, as The Bucks hit Risky Business on Zay for two. Zay managed a double takedown off the top and hot tag to Quen, who was a house of fire on The Elite. The Bucks rolled through a double hurricanrana and got a Superkick Party, as Zay tagged back in, but Perry hit a Poison Rana for two. The hung up in the ropes double stomp into the powerbomb got The Bucks a two on Zay, as Garcia recovered and sent Perry flying over the barricade with a big boot. Zay battled off both Matthew & Nicholas, who wanted a TK Driver, but Private Party hit the Silly String into a cradle for the flash pin.

Post match, Zay took the mic and told The Bucks they proved they have their number and again asked for a rematch for the Tag Titles. The Bucks walked off until Zay said he has an offer they won’t turn down. If Private Party loses the rematch, they’ll split up as a team for good. Quen seemed surprised by this, but The Bucks accepted and Zay was psyched and the match is on for next week.

-Backstage, The BCC truck finally arrives to the arena, but it’s just Marina Shaffir, as it was a diversion, as PAC, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta all attack Garcia & Private Party with chairs. Jon Moxley, wearing all black, drags Chuck Taylor down the ramp and to the ring, as they initially placed a chair around the ankle, but instead put it on the neck. Castagnoli stomped on it and they bailed, with Yuta initially shocked before the AEW crew rushed to the ring and Yuta also bailed. The Elite watched this all happen on the ramp as a stunned Orange Cassidy was by Taylor’s side, as he was tended to by doctors.
