WWE NXT live results: Tony D’Angelo vs. Kam Hendrix title match

Kam Hendrix, one of the newest additions to the NXT roster, is looking to achieve the biggest win of his young career.

The NXT Championship will be on the line when Hendrix challenges Tony D’Angelo tonight. He already owns a victory over D’Angelo in tag team action, though D’Angelo did not take the fall in that match. Instead, Hendrix pinned Myles Borne after pushing his own tag partner Mason Rook out of the way, which led to issues between the two NXT newcomers.

Borne, the NXT North American Champion, has another tag match tonight, teaming with Tavion Heights against DarkState.

We’ll hear from NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice, who promises that she’ll have a lot to say after defeating Izzi Dame last week. Also in the women’s division, Zaria clashes with Lizzy Rain.

Plus, the men’s Speed Championship is set to be defended with Lexis King vs. Romeo Moreno.

Vic Joseph and Booker T were on commentary. 

The competitors in tonight’s main event were shown walking into the building to hype the Tony D’Angelo NXT title defense against Kam Hendrix. 

Zaria v. Lizzy Rain 

Zaria blocked a tornado DDT and knocked Rain to the mat with a pump kick. Zaria whipped Rain around the ring, targeting her injured back. The Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley came out to join the commentators in an attempt to distract Zaria. She was unfazed though, knocking Rain to the floor with a solid forearm shot. 

Back from a commercial, Rain took Zaria to the mat with a super hurricanrana. But Zaria sprang right back up and cut Rain in half with a spear. Both women exchanged forearms, and Rain ducked a charge and hit Zaria with a clothesline. Rain hit a tornado DDT off the ropes for a near fall. 

Zaria came back with a pop-up headbutt. Rain got a near fall with a victory roll. Zaria caught Rain with a knee out of the corner and a rolling lariat for another near fall. Rain fired up and caught Zaria with a cutter and then a modified DVD for a near fall. Zaria came back with a German suplex and a spear. Zaria finished off Rain with an F5. 

Match Result: Zaria pinned Rain (10:32). 

After the match, Zaria tried to beat up Rain some more, but Paxley stopped her by offering up a title match for next week. 

— Saquon Shugars attacked Dark State as they were on their way to the ring. After the break, Vic Joseph announced that the Dark State match would occur later tonight. He also hyped up Booker T as “Mr. Great American Bash” and… really? 

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) v. The Culling (Shawn Spears & Nico Banks) (w/ Izzy Dame)

Nima and Price attacked Spears and Banks before the bell. Price and Banks had an awkward exchange that I think was supposed to end in Banks flipping over Price, but he didn’t clear him and basically planted his groin in Price’s face. They figured it out and then redid the spot. They went to the floor and Banks threw Price into the ring barricade. 

After a break, Nima suplexed Spears. Price got the tag, then dropped to the floor to suplex Banks on the apron. Price took both Spears and Price down at once. Price press-slammed Banks onto Spears. Price floored Banks with a knee for a year fall. Banks put down Price with a sharp elbow. Price shoved Spears into Banks. Nima and Price hit their finisher on Spears (kind of like a double-team Angle Slam) and got the pinfall. 

Match Result: OTM beat The Culling when Nima pinned Spears (9:27). 

This was moves with no real flow. 

— EK Prosper, Tate Wilder and Kam Hendrix chat in the locker room about their upcoming matches tonight. Well not EK Prosper, who doesn’t have a match. But he’ll get to tell his grandkids he was in the building when Kam Hendrix won the NXT Championship!  

Jackson Drake (w/ The Vanity Project) v. Tate Wilder 

Wilder took down Drake with a sling blade, and he dropped to the floor to regroup. So Wilder took all of them out at once with a cannonball off the stairs. 

CW paid a lot of bills with a long commercial break during this match. When they finally got back to it, Wilder hit Drake with a flying forearm. They fought on the ring apron. Wilder caught Drake with a gamengiri, but Drake came back with a spear to the floor. Back in the ring, Wilder avoided a 450, then hit Drake with a TKO (the move, he didn’t ask him to take a 50% pay cut) for a near fall. 

Wilder went to the top, but Drake hit the ropes and crotched Wilder. Drake went to the top, but Wilder powerbombed him out of the corner. Wilder hit a twisting splash off the top for a near fall. The members of the Vanity Project jumped on the apron, but Wilder knocked them down. He tried to take out Myka Lockwood with a rana, but she blocked it, powerbombed Wilder into the ringpost and then onto the ring apron. Back in the ring, Drake finished off Wilder with a 450 splash. 

Match Result: Drake pinned WIlder (8:35). 

— Robert Stone was interviewed by Emily Agard about the upcoming Great American Bash. Someone comes in to start yelling at him, but Jasper Troy interrupted. They got in each other’s faces, and another member of Dark State attacked Troy and soon it was complete chaos in the back.

Lola Vice Sets Up Her Next Challenger

Lola Vice came out to the ring for a promo and talked up her recent victories in NXT and AAA. She wanted to know who her next challenger was going to be. This brought out Kelani Jordan. Jordan said that she’s proved herself by going to TNA and winning the Knockouts title, but she didn’t get the same praise that Lola Vice did for going out and winning the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles. Vice wasn’t impressed with Jordan’s TNA title right, because “if you blinked, you missed it.” 

Kendal Grey came out (with Wren Sinclair, hobbling behind her) to throw her name in the ring, too. She, after all, won the Iron Survivor and pinned both Jordan and Vice. Lola Vice got sick of all the complaining, and made the match between Grey and Jordan for next week, with the winner getting the title shot at the Great American Bash. On her way out, Jordan pulled at one of Vice’s title belts, causing her to spin into Grey and hit her with an elbow. 

— In the back, Zaria F5’d Tatum Paxley into a storage cage. 

— Mason Rook and Tony D’Angelo talked trash about each other until Robert Stone intervened and made a match for Rook and Naraku for next week. If Rook wins, he “cuts the line” and gets into title contention. (This was later made a #1 Contenders Match at the end of the show.)

Romeo Moreno (w/ Noam Dar) v. Lexis King (w/ Birthright) for the NXT Speed Championship  

Since this is a Speed Championship match, the time limit is five minutes. Moreno caught King with a sunset flip, then a dropkick. Moreno hit a German suplex and a dropkick off the middle ropes for a near fall. Moreno caught King with a cradle for a near fall. King came back and caught Moreno with a diving dropkick in the corner for a near fall. King repeatedly kept trying to cover Moreno, forcing him to kick out multiple times. 

King and Moreno exchanged a series of strikes. King went for a half-crab, but he didn’t lock it in. Moreno rolled King into a vertical suplex, then caught him with a superkick. Moreno tried for a crossface, but turned it into the Rings of Saturn. King escaped and dropped to the floor. Moreno took out the other members of Birthright with a dive off the top. 

Moreno tried for a dropkick off the top, but King stepped back and, if I can be serious for a minute, locked in a half-crab. Moreno escaped and caught King with a cradle. Moreno missed a move off the top, and King finished off Moreno with The Coronation, and modified swinging neckbreaker. 

Match Result: Kingpinned Moreno to retain the Speed Championship (4:34).

— Natalya and Jadia Parker exchanged words in the back. Natalya sees right through Parker’s act. Natalya knows that she’s soft. 

Dark State (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) v. Tavion Heights & Miles Borne 

Cutler James was taken out of this match in the attack earlier by Saquon Shugars. 

There were a few instances of miscommunication between Borne and Heights in the early going. But they still combined to take Lennox out with a double dropkick. Borne clotheslined Griffin to the floor. Soon all four men were on the floor. Heights tossed Lennox over his head with a belly-to-belly. 

Dark State got the heat on Borne during the commercial. Lennox and Griffin worked over Borne in their corner. Borne backdropped Lennox out of his way to make the tag to Heights. Heights hit an amazing belly to belly on Lennox, then tossed Osiris around. Lennox tripped up Heights so Griffin could give him a headbutt. Dark State finished Heights off with the Doomsday Device. 

Match Result: Dark State won via pinfall (11:02). 

This didn’t feel like eleven minutes, probably because most of it was during the break.

  • Kendal Grey v. Kelani Jordan to crown the #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship
  • Mason Rook v. Naraku (later announced to be a #1 Contenders match for the NXT Championship)

Tony D’Angelo v. Kam Hendrix for the NXT Championship

I’m not liking Hendrix’s chances here, since they’ve already set up another opponent for D’Angelo in Mason Rook. 

Hendrix hit the Showtime Kick out of nowhere for a near fall. Hangman’s neckbreaker got another near fall. After a DDT, Hendrix got a third near fall. Naraku was shown watching in the crowd. Hendrix started firing away with forearms on D’angleo. D’Angelo caught Hendrix and dumped him like a sack of potatoes. Hendix dropped to the floor to regroup. 

When Hendrix got back in the ring, D’Angelo was all over him with clobbering forearms and clotheslines. D’Angelo tossed Hendrix with a FU. D’Angelo tossed Hendrix over his head with a belly to belly, then clotheslined Hendrix to the floor. Hendrix went to grab the title belt, but Naraku stood up and shook his head at Hendrix, who left the belt alone and headed back into the ring. 

After a commercial break, Hendrix got a near fall after a suplex while Naraku looked on. D’Angelo came back with a series of release German suplexes. D’Angelo hit a spinebuster. D’Angelo hit a modified fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. D’Angelo ran into a knee and Hendrix went for a cradle with his feet on the ropes, but the ref caught him. 

D’Angelo tossed Hendrix down with a suplex. Hendrix hit a Showtime Kick, then followed up with a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Hendrix and D’Angelo started exchanging strikes, but Hendrix leapt into a powerbomb from D’Angelo for a near fall. 

Hendrix snapped D’Angelo’s neck against the top rope, then crawled to the floor to get a steel chair. Mason Rook cut him off. D’Angleo backdropped Hendrix onto the announcer’s table. Back in the ring, D’Angelo hit a variation on the Sky High to get the pinfall. 

Match Result: D’Angelo pinned Hendrix to retain (10:48). 

Naraku handed D’Angelo his title belt and offered him a bow after his match. It was made official that Rook and Naraku’s match next week will crown the #1 Contenders for the NXT title. 

WWE NXT live results: Lola Vice vs. Izzi Dame Women’s title match

Reigning WWE NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice will put her title on the line against Izzi Dame in the headliner of tonight’s NXT on The CW.

Dame earned the shot by way of a mixed tag team match that also featured Nikko Vance and Mr. Iguana. This will be Vice’s third televised title defense after winning the title in April.

In another women’s singles match, Speed Champion Wren Sinclair faces Kelani Jordan in a non-title match while Jaida Parker goes one-on-one with the debuting Layla Diggs.

The announced card is rounded out by The Culling’s Shawn Spears and Niko Vance vs. OTM’s Bronco Nima and Lucien Price.

NXT is on the air in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. Opening the show is a women’s match.

WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair (with Kendal Grey) vs. Kelani Jordan in a non-title match

Jordan blindsides Sinclair before the bell, but Sinclair counters her as the bell sounds to start the match. They grapple and exchange strikes in a scrappy fight.

Jordan takes a back drop on the floor just before the show goes into a commercial break. Jordan regains her momentum and targets a leg during the break. Back from the break, Jordan works the leg. That includes her doing a modified tarantula in the ropes.

Comeback by Sinclair as she fires up on Jordan. Sinclair is cut off, but Jordan misses her split moonsault. Moments later, Jordan applies a STF hold. As Sinclair reaches for the ropes, Jordan drags her to the middle of the mat. Jordan then applies a modified cloverleaf using her foot to bridge to apply pressure while bridging backwards. Sinclair taps out. Jordan submits the Speed champ, presumably setting up a title match. Jordan got over well with the finish.

Match result: Kelani Jordan defeated WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair via submission in a non-title match.

— Lizzy Rain chats with WWE Women’s North American Tatum Paxley in a goofy backstage skit where Shiloh Hill enters wanting them sign his petition. Tristan Angels interrupts to tease and taunt Hill before leaving. Rain then declares she is going “redhead hunting” in her search for Zaria. Hill offers to help Rain, and they leave together.

— Darkstate turning on Saquon Shugars and kicking him out of the group is the focus of a video package. That precedes a talking segment with the three members of Darkstate.

Out comes Darkstate for an in-ring promo. In the graphics during their ring entrance, the caricature of Shugars has an “X” over the graphic. Darksate is in the ring to explain themselves.

Osiris Griffin says Shugars was an odd-man out, as the other three are college athletes. Shugars is merely an indie wrestler. Dion Lennox says he never fit it. Cutler James claims Shugars took himself out of the faction.

They think Shugars was trying to be the leader, but he was the weak link. Lennox says Darkstate is going to back to what they do best. Too bad the booking killed that aspect of their gimmick, but whatever.

— Kali Armstrong and Lola Vice exchange words in a skit from the trainer’s room, where Vice and Kendal Grey are checking on Wren Sinclair.

Sean Legacy vs. Dorian Van Dux in a quarterfinal match in a Speed tournament

Time limit draw as they go broadway after a Spanish Fly off the top rope. Van Dux looked like a monster at times, and he heaved Legacy hard into the ring post at one point. Legacy came back to set up the Spanish Fly in the closing moments, but to no avail. They shake hands after the match in a show of good sportsmanship. The draw eliminates both from the tournament, so the other quarterfinal match set for later tonight is now the final.

Match result: Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux wrestled to a three-minute time limit draw.

— Nattie Neidhart offers encouragement to Layla Diggs, and Nattie says she will be in Diggs’ corner tonight.

Jaida Parker vs. Layla Diggs (with Nattie Neidhart)

Diggs fought valiantly, but she ultimately drops the fall to Parker. Setting up the finish, Diggs goes for a moonsault press. No water in the pool, and Diggs takes a Hipnotic from Parker. For the finish, Parker executes a Deja Vu and pins Diggs.

Match result: Jaida Parker defeated Layla Diggs via pinfall.

— NWA Champion Tony D’Angelo is headed to the ring for a monologue, but before a video packing hyping the champ.

Challengers confront the champ

Tony D’Angelo talks about the new talent debuting on NXT, and they are coming for his title. D’Angelo mentions that next week he defends the NXT title against challenger Kam Hendrix. D’Aneglo then shifts his comments to Naraku. Tony D calls him out.

Out comes Naraku to confront D’Angelo. The champ knows Naraku speaks in riddles, but D’Angelo says he is more straightforward. D’Anfelo wants Naraku to simply ask for a title match. Naraku says he is here to keep Tony safe and protect the title. Naraku insists he and D’Angelo are destined for war over the title.

Kam Hendrix interrupts them to cut a promo on D’Angelo in which Hendrix proclaims he will win the NXT title next week. Meanwhile, Naraku sits there like a bump on a log. However, Naraku will soon step in to protect the champ.

Hendrix and D’Angelo cut promos on each other. Hendrix goes to sucker punch D’Angelo, but Naraky blocks it before peppering Hendrix and tossing him over the top rope. Naraku then turns and bows to D’Angelo before leaving the ring.

— Tavion Heights is backstage aplogizing to NXT North American Champion Myles Borne when both are jumped by Darkstate. The heel faction lays out Heigths and Borne, which would seem to set up a tag team match.

Nathan Frazier (with Axiom) vs. Romeo Moreno (with Noam Dar) in the Speed tournament final

Originally a quarterfinal match, this bout becomes the tournament final because of a time limit draw in a previous match earlier tonight. In this bout, they tease another time limit draw as Moreno scores a pinfall with a small package in the closing seconds. Good match throughout, and they shake hands in a show of sportsmanship after the match. For the finish, Frazier leaps on the top rope to cut off Moreno and execute a superplex. Frazier rolls through and goes for another suplex, but Moreno counters with the small package for the win.

Moreno won in an upset, and he earned a Speed title match against champion Lexis King. He and Birthright watched the match from a perch overlooking the ring.

Match result: Romeo Moreno defeated Nathan Frazier via pinfall in a Speed tournament final.

— NXT General Manager Robert Stone is talking with Mason Rook in a backstage skit. Naraku interjects to warn Rook about interfering in the upcoming NXT title match.

— OTM are making their entrance for a match when they are jumped by Shawn Spear swinging a metal folding chair. Spears hits OTM with the chairs several times before referees pour out to stop the attack. Niko Vance comes out to get Spears, and Vance is clearly upset that Spears jumped OTM.

— Kali Armstrong is interviewed to kill time when she is met by Thea Hail.

— Shiloh Hill asks Zaria to sign his petition, and she scoffs at him. Suddenly, Lizzy Rain jumps Zaria. Referees and Robert Stone run in to separate them.

Charlie Dempsey (with Birthright) vs. Shiloh Hill

Hill is continuing his latest gimmick, which reminds me of wacky Bugsy McGraw. Hill and Dempsey were given plenty of time in this match, as they wrestle through a commercial break. Finish came out of nowhere when Hill counters a front facelock with a Northern lights suplex. Hill does a bridge and scores a three count on Hill.

Match result: Shiloh Hill defeated Charlie Dempsey.

— In a post-match angle, Tristan Angels comes out to inform Hill they are entered into a Mr. NXT pageant in two weeks. This plays on Hill and his petition to become Mr. NXT. Hill intends to embarrass Angles. Hill ends the segment with a wild cackle that was odd.

— Izzi Dame berates Shawn Spears over The Culling booking a tag match the same night as her title challenge. Vance insists they will take care of the issue.

NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice vs. Izzi Dame in a title match

Dame gets in a lot of offense during the match, as she takes the fight to Vice. She becomes upset just before a commercial break when OTM runs down to brawl with The Culling at ringside. The two teams brawl their way to the back.

They trade near falls after the show returns from the commercial break. They also have a ref bump. Double down in the ring as the ref is also down and out. Vice and Dame rise to their feet and exchange strikes. Vice with a near fall, but no ref to count. The ref finally crawls over, but Dame kicks out. Dame tosses the tile belt to Vice, and Dame does a Van Daminator of sorts by hitting a the title belt with a big boot that drops Vice. Ref crawls over again for another close two count.

Dame goes to lift Vice, only get caught in a guillotine choke. Dame flails around. Inside cradle for two. Separation just before Dame walks into a spinning back fist from Vice. The champ falls on top of the challenger to pin her.

Match result: NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice defeated Izzi Dame via pinfall to retain her title.

— The show ends with Darkstate leaving the building and boasting about being back. They vow to finish their job next week and then go on to win all of the titles. Eavesdropping and lurking over them is Saquon Shugars, as he stands perched over Darkstate.

WWE NXT live results: Two title matches, Mason Rook’s in-ring debut

Tonight on WWE NXT is a night of debuts and title matches.

Recent weeks have seen Mason Rook, Kam Hendrix, and Tristan Angels added to the NXT roster. All three are set to make their official TV in-ring debuts tonight. In tag team action, Rook & Hendrix will look to defeat NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and North American Champion Myles Borne. A victory would likely propel Rook and Hendrix to immediate title contention.

Angels will debut in singles action against a yet-to-be-announced opponent.

A pair of championship matches have also been announced for tonight’s episode. Lizzy Rain, another NXT newcomer, aims for gold early as she challenges Tatum Paxley for the Women’s North American Championship. And the NXT Tag Team titles will be on the line with DarkState challenging Vanity Project for their belts.

Plus, Tate Wilder makes his singles debut as he attempts to overcome Keanu Carver.

NXT is back on the air in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. Opening the show is a tag team match where the two singles champions in the men’s division team up against two newcomers making their in-ring debuts in NXT.

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo & NXT North American Champion Myles Borne vs. Mason Rook & Cam Hendrix in a tag team match

The tag bout goes through a commercial break. Heat on Borne after the debuting duo work together to chop block Borne’s knee. Borne is worked over until Borne counters a double-team and dives for a hot tag. D’Angelo is a house of fire, and he gets a near fall after spearing Hendrix. D’Angelo takes a few really tough bumps from Rook, and D’Angelo crashes into the ring steps. Borne with a save by flying over the ropes with a flip dive to the floor.

Tavion Heights runs down to ambush Hendrix, with whom he has beef. Heights’ sneak attack sends Hendrix into Borne, which trips up Borne’s attempt at springing back into the ring. Borne is then distracted by Heights, who is removed from ringside by officials.

For the finish, a distracted Borne tries to slingshot into the ring. He is caught by Rook, and Borne takes an exploder suplex in a corner. Rook with a fireman’s carry into a jackhammer, and Rook goes for a cover. However, Hendrix is the legal man. He pushes Rook out of the way, and Hendrix pins Borne to win the match. As Hendrix celebrates his win, Rook glares at him like the meme where Undertaker is standing behind AJ Styles.

Match result: Mason Rook & Cam Hendrix defeated Tony D’Angelo & Myles Borne when Hendrix pinned Borne.

— Darkstate in a backstage skit talk about all being on the same page again. Dion Lennox inquires to Saquon Shugars what he meant about them needing to make a change. Shugars assures Lennox not worry about that. Foreshadowing would seem to indicate he should worry.

Confrontation with challengers and the women’s champ leads to melee

Kelani Jordan enters the sound stage for an promo in the ring. She would eventually be interrupted by several wrestlers including NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice, Izzi Dame, and Kendal Grey. Wren Sinclair runs into whack Dame with a walking crutch.

Firstly, Jordan cuts a heel promo complaining about never getting a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Jordan boasts about being the fastest rising homegrown star. Besides making Lola Vice (the champion) tap out, and also beating Kendal Grey last weeks, Jordan claims she in better than all of the women’s wrestlers called up to the main roster.

Jordan goes on to demand a championship match before claiming to be the most underrated women on the roster.

Out comes Izzi Dame wearing ridiculously fuzzy chaps. Dame marches to the ring in her fuzzy chap, and she cuts a promo on Jordan trying to cut in line.

NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice interrupt the confrontation to confront her two potential challengers. Vice bickers with Dame and Jordan until they are all interrupted by Kendal Grey.

Grey confronts them as Wren Sinclair sneaks in the ring from behind. Sinclairs blasts Jordan with a crutch, which ignites a melee. The heels powder as the babyfaces stand tall. While standing tall, Grey keeps eyeballing the women’s title belt as Vice raises in over her head.

Romeo Moreno vs. Tristan Angels

Angels wins his debut match against newcomer Moreno. They had a really good competitive match that goes through a commercial break.

Shiloh Hill watches this match from the crowd while making a spectacle of himself. Hill interacts with Moreno during the match, as they slap hands after Moreno does a big dive over the ropes to the floor.

For the finish, Angels does a curb stomp using a knee drop. Angels then covers Moreno for a three count. Angels and Hill exchange barbs after the match.

Mach result: Tristan Angels defeated Romeo Moreno via pinfall.

Angels gets a house microphone and address Shiloh Hill, who is still standing in the crowd with a sign that reads “MR. NXT”. Angles says Hill is where he belong, in the crowd with the regular people. In response, Hill cuts a promo and throws to an old photo of Angels in a goofy tuxedo. That is supposed to be burn of some sort. Hill polls the crowd on who should be Mr. NXT. Of course, they side with Hill. Angels wants Hill he will regret ruining Angel’s debut match.

NXT North American Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley vs. Lizzy Rain in a title match

Rain’s strong push continues, even if she drops a fall here to a reigning champion. Rain has a ton of charisma.

Zaria runs in after the match to lay out Rain before targeting Paxley. Zaria apparently has her sights on the North American title.

The title match tonight goes through a commercial break. Rain with a wrecking ball dropkick just before the show cuts to commercials, and she is rocking.

Very physical and competitive match between two babyfaces. The studio audience got into the match, as they worked really hard to have an exciting bout.

Match result: NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley defeated Lizzy Rain via pinfall to retain her title.

Paxley and Rain embrace after the match in a show of respect. They are jumped by Zaria. She hits both with a double spear, and Zaria gives both an F-5. Zaria then grabs the title belt and poses with it as the segment ends.

Keanu Carver vs. Tate Wilder

Wilder gets some offense and the time to show off some of his aerial arsenal, but he drops another fall on television in his second match on NXT in two weeks. To make matters worse, he is busted open in this match with a potato from Carver. Wilder is bleeding from underneath his eye, but he fights on.

Wilder with a tornado DDT plants Carver on the floor. After following up with a frog splash, a still-bleeding Wilder opts for another high risk move instead of going for a pin. Wilder is tripped up and crotched while trying to climb the ropes. Carver then strikes with a Monty Brown Pounce, and Carver scores a clean pinfall.

Match result: Keanu Carver defeated Tate Wilder via pinfall.

— Myka Lockwood assures Vanity Project she has their back in the tag title match later tonight when they defend against Darkstate.

— Shiloh Hill and Charlie Dempsey set up a singles match next week. Hill reminded me of a modern day Bugsy McGraw with his outfit and top hat. He bickers with Birthright, which leads to them setting up a match for next Tuesday.

Mason Rook lays out Kam Hendrix

Sarah Schreiber interviews Kam Hendrix in the ring, which follows up on Hendrix and Rook winning in their debut match earlier tonight. A boastful Hendrix talks about setting his sights on the NXT Championship when he is interrupted by Rook.

Rook cuts a promo on Hendrix, who responds with a promo on Rook. Hendrix pats Rook’s gut, and Rook responds by laying out Hendrix with an Ax Bomber. Hednrix is then send smashing into the corner taking an exploder from Rook. This angle would seem to set up a grudge match between the two.

NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes with Jackson Drake & Myka Lockwood) vs. Darkstate (Dion Lennox & Saquon Shugars with Cutler James & Osiris Griffin) in a title match

Darksate jumps Vanity Project during the champs’ entrance. The tag title bout goes through a commercial break, with the champs reeling as the show goes into the break. The champs turn the tide during the break. They are working over Shugars as the show returns from commercials.

The match continues. Shugars comes back to run wild after several high spots and tags. Shugars is on a roll, and Lennox soon joins in the fun. Darkstate gets a close near fall. Lennox and Shugars signal for a Doomsday Device. Smokes saves Baylor and the champs tag out, only for them both to eat clotheslines from Lennox.

Griffin and Cutler try to get in Drake’s face at ringside, but Lockwood steps in to berate Griffin and Cutler. Another close near fall for Darkstat after Shugars makes a blind tag. Lennox is unaware of the bling tag. Shugars is trying to explain himself to Lennox when Shugars is rolled up by Smokes for a three count. The champs retain, and the finish sets up more dissension in Darkstate.

Match result: NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes defeated Saquon Shugars & Dion Lennox when Smokes pinned Shugars to retain their title.

Three members of Darkstate turn on Shugars in a post-match angle. Griffin and James first attack Shugars, and Lennox then joins in to pummel him. Lennox signals for a triple powerbomb, which lead to Darkstate powerbombing Shugars on the announce booth. The desk implodes on impact, and Shugars is laid out as the show goes off the air with his former stablemates standing over him.

WWE NXT live results: Naraku makes his in-ring debut

Tonight’s WWE NXT on The CW will feature the in-ring debut of former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Naraku.

Formerly known as EVIL in NJPW, he made his promotional debut last month, and he will compete against an opponent to be named.

In a singles bout, Kendal Grey will take on Kelani Jordan in a key women’s match while NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley teams with NXT rookie Lizzy Rain against Zaria and Nikkita Lyons in tag team action.

Noam Dar will return for his first televised match since June 2025 due to an undisclosed injury when he goes one-on-one with Jackson Drake after Dar was rejected by the Vanity Project last week, and wrestled in four dark matches over the last month before returning to TV.

A trios match featuring Sean Legacy, EK Prosper & Tate Wilder vs. BirthRight’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey and Uriah Connors rounds out the show.

NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley & Lizzy Rain vs. Nikkita Lyons & Zaria

Lizzy Rain continues to be the best new character on NXT in my opinion. Her character is fun. Pro wrestling is best when it’s fun to watch.

This tag match culminates in an angle where Zaria turns on her tag partner, leading to Lyons dropping a fall to Rain. Good opener.

In the match, the babyface duo clean house before stereo wrecking ball dropkicks outside the ring as the show cuts to a commercial break.

Paxley in trouble after the show returns from the break, but she creates separation and crawls over for a hot tag. Rain runs wild, and she is a house of fire. Moments later, double down with Lyons and Paxley out on their feet as they crawl to tag out.

Lyons is nearly to her corner as she leaps to make a tag. Zaria pulls back her outstretched hand and jumps backwards off the apron, which leaves Lyons hanging in the ring. Lyons is alone as she takes Rain’s finisher, and Rain pins her.

Match result: Tatum Paxley & Lizzy Rain defeated Nikkita Lyons & Zaria when Rain pinned Lyons.

— In a plug for two nights of AAA Triplemania 34 on September 11 in a location TBA and September 13 in Mexico City, it is referred to as the “first-ever two-night” Triplemania. AAA ran multiple Triplemania cards in different cities during many years in the past, but whatever.

— Another plug advertises Penta, Bayley and Grayson Waller for NXT house shows this weekend.

— Speaking of special appearances, out comes Lince Dorado for a match against the wrestler formerly known as Evil.

Naraku vs Lince Dorado

Dorado is currently a trainer in WWE, and here he puts over Naraku in a glorified enhancement match designed to get Naraku over in his in-ring debut. Dorado gets some offense, but not for long. Handspring into a cutter by Dorado, but that was the beginning of the end. Naraku eats him up and drops Dorado with a STO. One…two…three.

Match result: Naraku defeated Lince Dorado via pinfall.

— In a pre-taped skit, Nattie Neidhart is filming a promo for LFG when she is interrupted by Jaida Parker. They have words in a confrontation that clearly sets up a match between them.

Birthright (Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors & Stacks with Lexis King & Arianna Grace) vs. EK Prosper, Sean Legacy & Tate Wilder in a six-man tag team match

The match goes through a commercial break and has a lot of action much of the time. To me, this match is proof that PWG has a lasting impact on pro wrestling. Wild match with high spots galore. For the finish, Wilder shrugs off a tag, much to the chagrin of Legacy and Prosper. Wilder proceeds to leap off the top with a moonsault. No water in the pool. Connors and Stacks then execute stereo kicks, and and Connors pins Wilder.

Match result: Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors & Stacks defeated EK Prosper, Sean Legacy & Tate Wilder when Connors pinned Wilder.

— Tristan Angels has words with Shiloh Hill in a backstage skit that also featured Lizzy Rain and Tatum Paxley. Hill is chatting with them when Angels confronts Hill and cuts a promo on him. Angels reveals his in-ring debut is next week on NXT. Judging by this skit, Angels is being programmed with Hill for a match in the near future.

— Izzi Dame and The Culling are the focus of a personality profile.

Mason Rook moonsaults and inks his NXT contract

NXT General Manager Robert Stone introduces Mason Rook for a contract signing, which leads to an interruption by NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo. First, Rook cuts a promo where he mentions wrestling overseas. He turns heads everywhere, including John Cena. He is not only the best super-heavyweight, he is the best at any weight. Try to stand up to a tank and get crushed.

Enter the champ, Tony D’Angelo. Stone pleads with him, and Tony D assures him he is not there to fight. Tony D is cutting a promo from the aisle when he is ambushed again by Kam Hendrix. They brawl at ringside as security tries to separate them. Rook capitalizes by climbing the turnbuckles and doing a moonsault to the floor on a pile of bodies. He rolls back into the ring to sign his contract and pose — while the champ glares at Rook.

— Romeo Moreno gives a pep talk to Noam Dar, who is returning to the ring in NXT for the first time in a long while. Dar doubts himself, but Moreno puts over Dar’s accomplishments.

Noam Dar vs. Jackson Drake (with Vanity Project)

Dar fought valiantly, but he suffers from outside interference. Dar fights off Vanity Project when Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes attempt to interfere. However, Lockwood holds Dar’s trunks, allowing Drake to land a knee strike. Drake follows up with a 450 splash on Dar, and Drake scores a three count.

Match result: Jackson Drake defeated Noam Dar via pinfall after outside interference.

In a post-match angle, Darkstate enters the arena looking to confront Vanity Project. The show cuts to commercials during the foreboding entrance of Darkstate.

— NXT North American Champion Myles Borne has a disagreement with Tavion Heights after Myles informs Heights about a tag match next week. Robert Stone booked Borne teaming with Tony D’Angelo against the team of Mason Rook and Kam Hendrix. Heights is upset with Borne, as Heights perceives him as big-leaguing his former teammate. Borne tries to reason with Heights, as Borne did not lobby for the match. Heights storms off.

— Back to the ring where Darkstate wants to challenge Vanity Project for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Next comes a convoluted segment where Dion Lennox and Saquon Shugars are announced as the team challenging Vanity Project for the tag titles. The story coming into this segment involved dissension and tension between Shugars and Lennox. Osiris Griffin announces Shugars and Lennox are partners. The segment ends after the heels try to ambush Darkstate, but Vanity Project powders instead as they are dispatched by Darkstate.

— Backsatge, Stone shakes hand with Naraku. Stone then walks into his office to find Kan Hendrix and Mason Rook. They are informed they are booked as a team next week. In walks Tate Wilder, followed by Keanu Carver. This sets up another match for next week with Wilder booked against Carver.

— Kali Armstrong is interviewed backstage, which leads to a brief confrontation with Kendal Grey Wren Sinclair (as they head to the ring for the main event).

Kelani Jordan vs. Kendal Grey (with Wren Sinclair)

WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair is on crutches at ringside in Grey’s corner. The match itself goes through a commercial break. Jordan flew during the match, and Grey leaps off the top turnbuckle with a high cross to the floor before the show cuts to commercials.

Double down as the show returns from commercials. They trade near falls. Jordan goes for a springboard off the ropes, but Grey instead catches her in an ankle lock. Moments later, Grey goes for an armbreaker, but Jordan escapes. They trade more near falls before going home.

During the match, Izzi Dame is seen backstage brawling with Lola Vice, which would play into the finish of the ongoing match. Nearing the finish, Spanish Fly off the top for another near fall. They are perched on the turnbuckles setting up spot when Vice and Dame fight their way to ringside. Referees pour out in an attempt to separate them. During the melee, Sinclair is knocked down and loses her crutches.

Back in the ring, Grey is tripped up on the ropes. Jordan with a split-legged moonsaut, and she covers Grey for a three count.

Match result: Kelani Jordan defeated Kendal Grey via pinfall.

— Afterwards, Lola Vice goes to check on Sinclair. Grey is upset with Vice, and she shoves her. Vice and Grey yell at each other before Vice is ambushed by a sneak attack from Izzi Dame. She floors Vice with a running boot. Dame poses with Vice’s title as the show goes off the air.

WWE NXT live results: Zaria returns, Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana team up

Tonight’s WWE NXT will feature the return of Zaria after she brutally bid adieu to Sol Ruca in last month’s Last Woman Standing match, pushing her off the stage onto tables.

AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions Lola Vice and AAA’s Mr. Iguana will team up against Izzi Dame and Niko Vance as The Culling has been targeting the NXT Women’s Champion with the numbers in their favor.

Former WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kali Armstrong will take on budding rival Jaida Parker after a recent confrontation.

The announced lineup is rounded out by Jackson Drake against Jasper Troy.

NXT is back on the air in front of a live studio audience from the Performance Center in Orlando. Highlights at the start recapped last week’s reset episode.

Much like the whole show last week, there are so many debuts and run-ins that hardly any stand out, except for Tavion Heights attacking NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo. Clips of that run-in concluded the video package, and this week began with Stone Cold Tony D opening a can in a backstage pull-apart brawl.

D’Angelo spears Heights over a folding table set up backstage, and they are quickly separated around grappling on the floor. Chaotic skit to start the show.

Opening the show from the sound stage is a match set up in a locker room skit from last Tuesday.

Jaida Parker vs. Kali Armstrong

They were in each other’s face before the bell, and the bout begins with a shoving match. They soon thereafter grapple with artful chain wrestling. The fight outside the ring and they collide both going for a lariat. Double down leads into a commercial break.

The match continues through the break, and Armstrong takes control soon after the show returns from commercials. Armstrong with a high cross, seemingly just for the heck of it. They go on to trade near falls.

Parker fires up and does a signature spot. Armstrong fights back, and eventually fights dirty. Armstrong rakes Parker’s face, and they do an awkward powerslam. Armstrong signals for a finisher, and she runs the ropes several times before flying into a shoulder tackle, much like the Ultimate Warrior. Armstrong then pins Parker after the finisher they dubbed “Kali Connection”. Armstrong goes over to establish her as a character on NXT, but the eye rake finish allows them to run it back.

Match result: Kali Armstrong defeated Jaida Parker via pinfall.

— Cameo from Fit Finlay as he cuts a promo on his son’s stable — Birthright. Finlay says they should be upholding tradition. Not being outmaneuvered by gamers with no pedigree, who are beneath them. Finlay has William Regal on speaker phone.

Regal says he has taken care of the matter, and he sent his son — Charlie Dempsey — back to the Snake Pit. Regal goes on to say Birthright has a six-man tag team match next Tuesday. Regal tells them to make the most to the opportunity and take care of business.

Evils gets a new name

The wrestler formerly known as Evil is the focus of a video package introducing himself to viewers. NXT is entering a new era, and this is his time to strike. He wants the biggest prize in NXT, which he says is the men’s NXT Championship. The items given to the champ, Tony D’Angelo, over the last few weeks were not gifts. Rather, it was a proclamation. Evil vows he and D’Angelo will meet for the NXT title, saying it is written in the rising sun. Naraku is revealed as his new name in WWE. Naraku debuts next week.

Jasper Troy vs. Jackson Drake (with The Vanity Project)

The match goes through a commercial break. Vanity Project assists by distracting Troy, so Drake can knock him off his feet as the show goes into commercials. Troy is pummeling Drake when the show returns from the break. Drake counters Troy to drop him into a DDT. Kip up by Troy, and he comes to life with a surge of force. Drake leaps off the top rope onto the arms of Troy. Big chokeslam by Troy, and Drake soon flees the ring.

At ringside, Troy smacks down Ricky Smokes. Brad Baylor is pressed over Troy’s head and tossed into the ring. Suddenly, Myka Lockwood runs in and body slams Troy on the floor. Lockwood debuted recently in a skit with Vanity Project. Lockwood’s assistance helps Drake set up a 450 splash on Troy, and Drake upsets Troy.

Match result: Jackson Drake defeated Jasper Troy via pinfall.

Potential contenders brawl over shot at NXT Women’s North American title

Zaria heads to the ring for a monologue, marking her first time to address the audience since besting Sol Ruca in a last woman standing match. Zaria says a change is in the air at NXT, and it could be anyone ballgame. For the first time in NXT, no one is holding Zaria back. No dead weight, nor fake partners. Zaria realizes she has to do it herself.

Zaria has her sights on the very thing that caused the rift between her and Ruca, which is the NXT Women’s North America Championship.

The reigning North American champ — Tatum Paxley — soon interrupts the monologue to confront Zaria in the ring. They are both soon interrupted by a fired up Lizzy Rain. She talks about the putting some heavy metal into the lineage of the Women’s North American title.

Out comes Nikkita Lyons for another interruption. Lyons cuts a promo that ultimately leads into a brawl with the potential contenders and the champion. Zaria stands tall and lays out the other three. Zaria stands over the champions and posing as the segment ends.

— Noam Dar returns to NXT in a backstage skit that sets up a match between him and Jackson Drake. Myka Lockwood walks in and Drake says he will accept a match with Dar for next week if Lockwood is in his corner for the bout.

— Kam Hendrix ambushes Tony D’Angelo in a backstage attack. Hendrix is pulled off D’Angelo as the show goes into a commercial break.

— NXT GM Robert Stone is rushing around backstage after the show returns from the commercial break. Stone grabs a headset and orders the mixed tag title match be moved up immediately because of the attack on D’Angelo postpones his match. The scheduled main event is up next.

AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana (with La Yesca) vs. The Culling (Izzi Dame & Niko Vance with Shawn Spears) in a non-title mixed tag team match

They had a really good tag match, and even had comedy spots with La Yesca. They wrestled through a commercial break. For the finish, Iguana is powerbombed on the floor by Vance. Vice is distracted by Iguana getting laid out, and she eventually ate a running knee from Dame. Dame then scores a pin. Vice got a near fall in he match where Vance stopped the referee from counting.

In winning, Dame scores a pin on the reigning women’s champ. The Culling also have a win over the mixed tag champs. That would seem to set up a mixed title match, but the outcome here seems to focus on Dame challenging for the singles title.

Match result: Izzi Dame & Niko Vance defeated Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana when Dame pinned Vice.

— Tavion Heights rants to North American Champion Myles Borne over Heights’ match tonight getting canceled. In walks Robert Stone, who says he kicked Kam Hendrix out of the venus. Stone also says D’Aneglo is good to go, and the match with Heights is on for later tonight in the main event slot.

Zaria enters the scene to confront Stone. He informs her that she is booked in a tag match next with Zaria teaming with Nikkia Lyons against Lizzy Rain and Tatum Paxley. Zaria is upset as she is done with tag team wrestling. Stone says if she wants a singles title match, she must get through the tag match.

— Nattie Neidhart in a cameo appearance tells Jaida Parker she has gotten soft. This came after a frustrated Parker was wrecking the locker room.

DarkState (Cutler James & Osiris Griffin with Dion Lennox & Saquon Shugars) vs. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger

The match goes through a commercial break. Before the break, the dissension continues in Darkstate. Dion Lennox and Saquon Shugars must be separated at ringside after Shugars stops Lennox from using a metal folding chair. This plays on a similar spot from a previous episode. Lennox rages over Shugars blockmh a chair shot. Nevertheless, Darkstate is again in control as the match returns from commercial break.

They did several spots where teammates broke up a pinning attempt. Hot tag led to Hank & Tank running wild. They are cut off and Darkstate takes control again Darkstate catch Tank on a dive and slam him on Hank. Double-team powerbomb finisher by Darkstate, and James pins Hank.

Match result: Cutler James & Osiris Griffin defeated Hank Walker & Tank Ledger when James pinned Walker.

— Kelani Jordan has words with Lola Vice in a backstage skit. Kendal Grey takes up for Vice, but Vice scoffs at needing help. Jordan scoffs at Grey. Scoffs all around.

— Emily Agard is on assignment as a reporter looking to interview Keanu Carver. He does not want to speak on camera, so Agard gets the camera put down — but it still records the interaction. This was odd, but did its job in trying to get Carver over.

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo vs. Tavion Heights in a title match

Good match, but the studio audience seemingly never bought the title being in jeopardy. Cheap finish did not help. Runs in both during the match and afterwards. This was overbooked like much of the show.

Lots of great offense by Heights, especially his variations of a suplex. They traded near falls, and the work itself was really good.

Spear by D’Angelo as they go home. Heights counters D’Angelo’s finisher before a sudden run in by Kam Hendrix, who was supposedly kicked out of the building earlier on by Robert Stone.

Heights thwarts the run-in, and Myles Borne runs down to the ring to do a flip dive out of the ring — in street clothes no less. Borne brawls Hendrix. Meanwhile, D’Angelo with his chokeslam finisher before pinning Heights. And still…

Match result: NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo defeated Tavion Heights to retain his title.

In a post-match angle, Mason Rook (Will Kroos) runs in to ambush D’Angelo. Rook lays out D’Angelo before identifying himself as the show goes off air.

WWE NXT live results: Tony D’Angelo appearance, Ricky Saints vs. Shiloh Hill

Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT is the first since last week’s call-ups to the main roster. Fatal Influence, Sol Ruca, Ricky Starks, Ethan Page and Blake Monroe among those called up.

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo will be on the show tonight as GM Robert Stone reveals who is his next challenger.

Before Starks heads to SmackDown this Friday, he will take on Shiloh Hill in his final NXT match.

In a defense of the men’s NXT North American title, Myles Borne puts the title up against Saquon Shugars of DarkState.

The MVP of last year’s SummerSlam tryouts — Lizzy Rain — will make her NXT in-ring debut tonight.

EK Prosper & Dorian Van Dux vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Uriah Connors of BirthRight rounds out the announced matches.

The show begins with a clip from earlier today of General Manager Robert Stone meeting with Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom. They are talking about the call-ups, and how there are big shoes to fill. Stone pitches for new faces. HBK says to “throw a stick of dynamite into that locker room and see who the hell runs out.”

Opening the show in the ring is a title match.

Myles Borne vs. Saquon Shugars (with DarkState) for the NXT North American Championship

Fast start with a quick pace. Shugars powders, which leads to Borne doing a flip dive over the top rope to the floor on DarkState. Shugars’ cohorts try to interfere, but Borne fights them off. He is soon cut off, and Shugars has momentum. Shugars works over Borne during the break.

As they fight on the ring apron, Shugars pulls Borne into a turnbuckle. On commentary, Vic Joseph claims the metal turnbuckle was exposed. Borne sells his throat from the spot as the show cuts to a commercial break.

Soon after the show returns from the break, Borne comes back as they trade near falls. Borne with a rally and his is fired up. Dion Lennox tries causes a distraction to allow Shugars to gain an underhanded advantage. Shugars lands on is own head on a modified Northern Lights suplex.

Cutler James and Osiris Griffin distract the referee as Lennox stalks Borne with a metal folding chair. Before Lennox can use the chair as a weapon, Shugars rushed out the ring to stop him. Shugars yells at Lennox as he takes the chair away from Shugars. As they argue, Borne shoves Shugars into Lennox. Borne thwarts the interference of Lennox, and Borne soon thereafter uses his Borne Again finisher on Shugars. Borne then covers Shugars to win the match.

Match result: NXT North American Champion Myles Borne defeated Saquon Shugars via pinfall to retain his title.

In a post-match angle, Tristan Angels debuts with a microphone to cut a promo on Borne. Angels introduces himself as “Mr. England”, and he says we will see much more of Angels on NXT.

As Angels is cutting his promo, Kam Hendrix from LFG runs in to ambush Borne. Hendrix lays out Borne as Angels looks on from afar.

— WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey are talking backstage when Kelani Jordan interrupts them. They bicker until Sinclair challenges Jordan to a match for later tonight.

EVIL debuts to confront NXT Champ Tony D

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo enters the sound stage for an in-ring monologue. The main focus of his promo is the mystery box he received last week. This leads to the surprise debut of EVIL. A cloaked and hooded figure appears through fog to confront D’Angelo in the ring. The mysterious figure offers a shirt with something written in Japanese on it.

The figure then reveals himself as EVIL, although he was never called by that name. On commentary, he is referred to as a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Vic Joseph wonders aloud if the gift is given to Tony for admiration, or if it is “gift of pure evil.”

EVIL leaves the ring with Tony D holding the gift, and the impact of the debut is immediately lessened when Tavion Heights ambushes D’Angelo. Heights gives Tony D a belly-to-belly suplex. Heights is fired up as he leaves the ring. While he is leaving, an unidentified individual (Will Kroos) in a WWE hoodie climbs the turnbuckles and does a moonsault press on D’Angelo.

— Tatum Paxley and Shiloh Hill are featured in an outdoor skit where they are burying Blake Monroe’s casket in a wooded area. They hope her soul find peace wherever she ends up. The conversation shifts to Hill’s match tonight against Ricky Saints. Hill ran a series of simulations on how to defeat Saints. Hill then leaves, and Paxley lays down next to the grave.

— Out comes BirthRight for an in-ring promo. WWE Speed Champion Lexis King speaks while flanked by Arianna Grace, Stacks and Uriah Connors. King throws to a video clip from earlier today where Grace films BirthRight attacking Dorian Van Dux in an injury angle. That leaves EK Prosper without a partner for a tag team match against BirthRight.

Prosper storms the ring and takes the fight to BirthRight. They gang up on Prosper until Sean Legacy runs in for a save. Prosper has a tag partner after all.

EK Prosper & Sean Legacy vs. BirthRight (Uriah Connors & Stacks with Lexis King & Arianna Grace)

Hot start by the babyfaces, and a lots of high spots and dives before a commercial break. BirthRight with an advantage as the show cuts to commercials. Legacy is being worked over as the show returns from the break. Legacy creates separation after an avalanche backdrop.

Hot tag to Prosper, and he runs wild on the heels. Near fall for Prosper with a Michinoku Driver. Connors with a swanton bomb for another near fall. Parade of high spots down the stretch. Legacy executes a crazy finisher that combines a Burning Hammer with a twisting neckbreaker. Legacy then covers Stacks for a pinfall. On commentary, the outcome is called an upset.

Match result: Sean Legacy & EK Prosper defeated Uriah Connors & Stacks when Legacy pinned Stacks.

— In a post-match angle, BirthRight gang up on the babyface team for a beat down. Tate Wilder runs in to make a save. Wilder marks another debut on the show, and I have already lost count on the run-ins so far.

— Kali Armstrong has words with Jaida Parker in a locker room skit, which sets up a match between the two for next week. The match is later made official for next Tuesday on NXT.

— Shawn Michaels voices over a plug for the new deal with CW to air NXT premium live events. Not exactly a “premium” for the shows when the supercards air on free broadcast television, but the supercards are nonetheless begin airing on CW this summer.

— Robert Stone has an encouraging words with Tate Wilder backstage. NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice walks by and she vows to call out Izzi Dame.

NXT Women’s Champ Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana thwart The Culling

Vice storms the ring and calls out Dame. Shawn Spears appears on the Titantron, which serves as a distraction while Izzi Dame and Niko Vance sneak up behind Vice. The heels have the tables turned on them when Mr. Iguana sneaks up on them with La Yesca. Of course, Iguana and Vice are the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.

Mr. Iguana and Vice send the heels packing. The Culling flees, and this would seem to set up a mixed tag match for the near future. Later in the show the mixed tag is made official for next Tuesday, albeit it appears to be non-title.

— DarkState argue among themselves in a backstage skit. Shugars argues with Lennox, and they are yelled at by Griffin and James. Besides teasing dissension, the point of the skit is DarkState is going for tag team gold again.

Lizzy Rain vs. Nikkita Lyons

Rain debuts with a voiceover that proceeds her ring entrance in which Rain vows that she and heavy metal will never die. The heavy metal gimmicks very much fits Rain as she is the niece of Iron Maiden’s original drummer Clive Burr.

Lyons in a pretaped promo vows to ruin Rain’s debut, only for Lyons to put over Rain in her in-ring debut in NXT. In the match, Lyons briefly gets heat on Rain. Comeback by Rain, and she is fired up. She chops Lyons while the studio audience chants “make it rain” in unison.

Rain is briefly cut off, but she soon makes another comeback. Rain executes her finisher, which is called “Thunderstruck”. Rain then covers Lyons for a pinfall to win her debut match in NXT. Fun debut for Rain, and she brings a ton of energy.

Match result: Lizzy Rain defeated Nikkita Lyons via pinfall.

— Myles Borne bickers with Tavion Heights over Heights’ run in from earlier. This teases a potential match between the former associates. Borne turns around to find Keanu Carver confronting him. Carver issues a warning to Borne.

— Vanity Project is backstage chatting, and they agree that Jackson Drake should make an impact. Jasper Troy then confronts Drake. They get face-to-face, and Troy challenges Drake to a match next week. The match is made official in a plug later in the show.

WWE Women’ Speed Champion Wren Sinclair (with Kendal Grey) vs. Kelani Jordan in a non-title match

Being a non-title match, no Speed time limit. Thus, they were given a lot of time. They made the most of it. The match goes through a commercial break. Doing a dive before the break, Sinclair looks to have apparently tweaked her left knee. She shrugs off concern while telling the ref she can continue.

Jordan is working the left leg as the show returns from the break. Sinclair sells the leg but still makes a comeback. They go back-and-forth. Sinclair goes for her “Final Wrench” submission hold (cattle mutilation), but Sinclair’s knee buckles. She sells big before taking an Olympic slam from Jordan. She follows up a split-legged moonsault, and Jordan covers Sinclair for a pinfall. With Jordan pinning the Speed champ, this would seem to set up a title match.

Match result: Kelani Jordan defeated WWE Women’s Speed Champio Wren Sinclair via pinfall in a non-title match.

— Zaria is focus of a video package, along with Sol Ruca. Zaria voices over the package, which was heavily edited with special effects and such. Seemingly, this is meant to get Zaria over as a killer heel.

Shiloh Hill vs. Ricky Saints

They are having a decent enough match when Hill goes under the ring. Saints goes to pull out what he thinks is Hill. Instead, Saints puts out a dummy dressed like Hill with a hockey mask similar to horror movies monster Jason. With the clothing, the dummy may have looked more like Casey Jones from TMNT fame. Regardless, Saints is distracted by the bait and switch tactic. Hill then leaps off the ring steps with a somersault senton.

AS the show cuts to a commercial break, Hill props the dummy on the barricade so it can watch the rest of the match. Saints cuts off Hill during the break, but Hill fights back. When the show returns from the break, they are having a slugfest.

They trade numerous near falls down the stretch. Saints bumps into the referee, who hits the ropes. That causes Shiloh to crotch himself on the top rope. Ref bump leads into Saints executing a superplex for yet another near fall.

They soon go home after an “Old School” spot. Saints first slaps Hill across the face, and Hill’s false teeth go flying. Saints then attempts to walk the top rope like he is The Spoiler. Hill losing his false teeth only serves to hulk him up.

Saints cuts off Hill to give him a Dominator on the floor. Saints tries to use a metal folding chair, only for that to backfire on Saints. Hill trips Saints, and Saints takes a bumps on the chair. Hill executes his falling neckbreaker finishing move, and he covers saints for a pinfall.

Match result: Shiloh Hill defeated Ricky Saints.

— A fired up NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo cut a promo on the recent choas. D’Angelo appears to yell “let’s f****** go!” That was censored, and the show goes off the air.

WWE NXT Revenge week two live results: Last Woman Standing

Sol Ruca and Zaria will attempt to settle their rivalry on WWE NXT tonight.

The lineup for week two of NXT Revenge includes a Last Woman Standing match between former friends Ruca and Zaria. It’s taking place one night after Ruca made her Raw debut on the night after WrestleMania 42, where she faced Liv Morgan but lost due to an interfering Zaria.

The men’s and women’s North American titles will both be on the line tonight. In a casket match, Tatum Paxley defends her belt against Blake Monroe. Men’s champion Myles Borne is putting his championship up for grabs against Dion Lennox.

Another title match will see Lexis King and EK Prosper battle it out to determine a new men’s Speed Champion.

Plus, Joe Hendry, who is heading to the main roster with a call-up to Raw, will take on Keanu Carter.

NXT is back in on the air in front a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. This is week two of “Revenge”. The show is opening with a title match.

Myles Borne vs. Dion Lennox (with Darkstate) for the NXT North American Championship

The Darkstate cohorts involved themselves at ringside, and they distracted Borne so that Lennox could ambush him. Lennox works over Borne through a commercial break, and the beating continues after the break. Borne takes a bump on the ring steps, and he also took a slingshot into a sit-out powerbomb from Lennox for a near fall.

Comeback by Borne, and they trade near falls. Borne is cut off, and he takes a superplex off the top rope. Lennonx goes to cover him, and Borne hulks up. Another distraction from Darkstate at ringside, which allows Lennox to block a finisher from Borne. However, Borne counters Lennox and Darkstate’s interference. Borne then uses zig zag to set up the deciding pinfall.

Good opener.

Match result: NXT North American Champion Myles Borne defeated Dion Lennox via pinfall to retain this title.

— Blake Monroe is backstage with the Vanity Project, and they give her a pep talk as she stares into the reflection in her fake title belt. She says they can go party with “baddies” they matched with on a dating app. They assure her they are a text away, and they will be across the street. Turns out they are catfished by Shiloh Hill, which we learn in another skit after a commercial break where Hill is chatting with NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley. She was concerned about Vanity Project interfering in her match later on against Monroe. Shiloh assures her they will not interfere, and he tells her about catfishing them.

Joe Hendry vs. Keanu Carver

The match goes through a commercial break. Carver uses his size to his advantage in the match, but Hendry was still competitive. Hendry gets worked over, with Carver targeting Hendry’s back. Hendry makes a comeback and he does a kip up. Hendry goes for his signature pose, only to walk into a lariat.

Spinebuster by Carver and he starts pounding on Hendry from a mounted position. The referee steps in to stop the match, as he calls her the bell.

Match result: Keanu Carver defeated Joe Hendry via referee stoppage.

— Lizzy Rain is the focus of a personality profile. Her in-ring debut on NXT is next week, and persona is a heavy metal gimmick.

Lexis King (with Birthright) vs. EK Prosper in the WWE Speed Championship tournament final

They have an exciting match with what time they had. Birthright members Arianna Grace and Stacks interfere, which allows King to win the tournament and the title. With under two minutes remaining, the fight spills outside.

King takes a bump on the apron and floor. Prosper comes off the top with a moonsault onto a pile of bodies. Under a minute remaining, and Grace slaps Prosper across the face. Prosper then superkicks Uriah Connors and Stacks at ringside. However, that distraction allows King to recover and execute a Coronation. Three count later, and new…

Match result: Lexis King defeated EK Prosper via pinfall after outside interference to win the WWE Speed Championship.

— Following up on a earlier skit, Jackson Drake is with Vanity Project. Drake is upset he got “stood up” by the mystery date, which is a catfish situation.

— Playing off an earlier skit with Robert Stone. Saquon Shugars informs Dion Lennox and Darkstate he got them a rematch for the Men’s North American Championship. Shugars got himself booked in a title match.

Tatum Paxley vs. Blake Monroe in a casket match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

As the story goes, Shiloh Hill built the casket used in the match. They brawl throughout the match. Of course, the casket is frequently used as a prop. Other props used early on in the match include a bouquet of flowers and a dollhouse. Paxley takes a bump on the dollhouse at ringside just before the show cuts to a commercial break.

The brawl continues throughout the break, and they are fighting in the ring when the show returns from the break. They fight standing in the casket and top of it. Spanish Fly off the casket to the floor in a spot where the studio audience chanted “holy s***.”

Monroe sprays Paxley with a fire extinguisher, and Paxlet takes an implant DDT on the floor. Monroe puts Paxley inside the casket and shuts the lid. Monroe thinks she won, but Paxley uses Monroe’s fake title belt to block the casket from closely completely.

Tug-o-war over the fake title belt, and Monroe appears to win that battle. Monroe reveals a loaded pillow she used earlier in the match is filled with gimmicked diamonds. Paxley executes her finisher on the pile of diamonds. Following up with a running dropkick on Monroe, and Monroe tumbles into the casket. Paxley tosses the fake title belt into the casket, and Paxley shuts the win. And still…

Match result: NXT Women’s North American Championship Tatum Paxley defeated Blake Mornoe in a casket match to retain her title.

— Jackson Drake leaves the bar with a muscular woman that he met. They hit it off and she tells him he was catfished. They then leave together.

— NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice enters the ring for her first promo since winning the title. She puts over Jacy Jayne as the former champion. Vice then cuts a good babyface promo before being interrupted by Izzi Dame and The Culling.

Vice is wearing her newly won NXT title around her waist, and her AAA Mixed Tag Team title belt is hanging from her waist. Niko Vance and Shawn Spears circle Vice, and Vance snatches the Mixed title belt. That distracts Vice, which allows Dame to drop Vice with a high kick. Dame poses with the NXT title while standing over a fallen Vice. The theme for heels tonight are distractions often and always.

— New Speed Champion Lexis King is being interviewed alongside Birthright when he confronted by EK Prosper and Dorian Van Dux. This sets up a tag team match against two members of Birthright.

— Kendal Grey is the focus of a great “Chronicle” segment. She narrates a video package talking her upbringing and journey to becoming a wrestler. This is a pretty great personality profile.

— Lola Vice tells Robert Stone she has “the perfect person is mind” to even the score with The Culling after the ambush earlier. A sudden commotion in Stone’s office, and Ricky Saints apparently lured Shiloh Hill into the office by using Stone’s cellphone. Hill was attacked and has a shelf laying on top of him as Stone and security run into the room. This puts their next match in jeopardy. Will Hill recover?

— NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo receivers a mystery gift box while talking with Robert Stone, who tells D’Angelo that next week Stone will have better idea who is his next challenger. Keanu Carver confronts D’Angelo with a warning about “sharks” circling the champ.

Sol Ruca vs. Zaria in a last woman standing match

Zaria sneaks into the ring during her entrance for an ambush. Ruca fights off Zaria and Zaria is scrambling at ringside. Zaria turns the proverbial tables with a shot from a trash can. A kendo stick soon becomes involved, as does more trash cans. Zaria whips Ruca with cable wire. They do a modified hangman spot for heat.

The brawling continues back in the ring, where Ruca delivers an X-Factor. They do some spots with a kendo stick, and Zaria has to answer a ten count. They tease a powerbomb off the apron, but Zaria escapes to boot Ruca at ringside.

The studio audience chants for tables as the fight continues. Soon thereafter, they do a stunt where Ruca spears Zaria through a gimmicked wall.

They go through a commercial break with more brawling around ringside. Back from the commercial break, and they perched on the barricade. That set up a stunt where Zaria gives Ruca an F5 on the broadcast booth. The desk implodes on impact, and Ruca must answer a ten count. Ruca barely beats the count as Zaria sets up a table at ringside.

Comeback by Ruca, but she is on rubber legs. More tables are set up ringside, complete with Slim Jim logos.Two tables set side-by-side. That leads to a big spot where Ruca climbed on a perch overlooking the ring. She looks to set up a spot with Zaria laid out on the tables.

Zaria disappears from the tables by the time Ruca climbs on the perch. Zaria surprises Ruca on the perch, but Ruca is able to leapfrog a spear. Ruca then executes a Sol Snatcher on the perch. The move looked to hurt Ruca for real. They both rise to heir feet and trade punches atop the perch. Slugfest develops as they tease knocking each other off the perch.

Teetering on the edge, Zaria flails with Ruca holding on to her. Zaria begs off and pleads with Ruca. Zaria says she is sorry, and Ruca pulls her away from the edge. There is an awkward moment where they look into each other’s eyes. They cry tears and hug. Zaria’s face melts into a sinister grin, and she shoves Ruca off the perch.

Ruca takes an ugly bump off the perch on to the tables. One table broke, and Ruca hit her head on the either table. It looked brutally painful. Ruca cannot answer the ten count, and Zaria is the last woman standing.

Match result: Zaria defeated Sol Ruca in a last woman standing match.

WWE NXT live results: Stand & Deliver go-home show

WWE extends its stay in New York City tonight with The Theater at Madison Square Garden hosting tonight’s episode of NXT.

Tonight is the go-home show for Stand & Deliver — and there will be a pair of number one contender’s matches to determine title bouts for the April 4 PLE. Kendal Grey and Lola Vice are facing off to determine Jacy Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship challenger. Along with that, Los Americanos and Birth Right will meet with a Stand & Deliver Tag Team title shot against Vanity Project on the line.

TNA World Champion Mike Santana will be in the building, teaming with OTM against DarkState.

Jasper Troy and Keanu Carver will continue their rivalry in a match where Josh Briggs serves as the special guest referee.

Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan is also set for the show. Plus, Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley will have a confrontation with Blake Monroe.

We’ll also get a follow-up on the Sol Ruca and Zaria rivalry after they were spotted brawling in NYC earlier today.

NXT is on the air from The Theater at MSG. The brand’s champions and their next challengers arrive to the building in footage from earlier today.

Live in the arena is the entrance of DarkState for the opening tag match, and their opponents — OTM — entered next. Following them was OTM’s partner, who gets a hometown reaction. Billed from The Bronx in NYC, TNA World Champion Mike Santana has a superstar entrance.

DarkState (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin & Saquon Shugars) vs. TNA World Champion Mike Santana & OTM (Lucien Price & Bronco Nima)

Santana was clearly the star of the match, and the match itself is a really good opener. The crowd was hot as well. They loved Santana.

Heat on Price as the show goes through a commercial break, which led into a hot tag where Nima ran wild after the show returns from the break. Nima gets a near fall on Griffin after a uranage slam. Santana then came in to clean house, and he was over big with the crowd.

Santana with a great sequence that included a pop-up cutter, a suicide dive sailing through the ropes on OTM at ringside. Santana follows up with a frog splash for a near fall. Santana is soon cut off until OTM jumps back into the ring for a save. Griffin and Shugars double team powerbomb gets a two count on Santana. Shugars goes on to have a great closing sequence with Santana before they all go home.

Santana catches Shugars with a DVD, and he follows with a lariat. Shugars sells big as he turns inside out taking a bump. Santana then leaps over the ropes to the floor with a swan dive on OTM. In the ring, Shugars takes OTM’s finisher. Price covers Shugars for a three count.

Match result: OTM & Mike Santana defeated Darkstate when Price. pinned Shugars

— Vic Joseph sits down with NXT North American Champion Myles Borne for an interview ahead of Stand & Deliver. This led to Johnny Gargano interrupting and cutting a helluva promo on how he has to win the title from Borne at the PLE this Saturday.

Gargano with his charisma and deliver sort of stole the segment, but Borne did very well for himself before Gargano runs in. Borne once again thanks No Quarter Catch Crew for helping him, and Borne also thanks Ethan Page for giving bringing out the edge in Borne that he needed to become champion.

Borne puts over Gargano and his achievements, and Borne really hopes that “Johnny Wrestling” shows up in the ring at Stand & Deliver.

In comes Gargano, and he sits down with a mean look on his face. Gargano cautions Borne. Careful what you ask for. Before there was Stand & Deliver, there was NXT Takeover. They called him “Johnny Takeover”, and Gargano says if that man is still inside him then Borne better pray. Gargano warns Borne he will eat him alive. But this is not personal. What is personal is the North American title.

If Gargano wins, he returns to Smackdown and gets his life back. If he loses, Gargano is unsure what happens. One thing Gargano does know is he will take Borne “into deeper waters” than Borne has seen, and Gargano will show him what it means to be a champion. For the first time in two months, Gargano will not lay down and die.

“I will stand and deliver like only I can, because I have to,” Gargano says in conclusion. “More than you know.”

— Wren Sinclair has some encouraging words for Kendal Grey

Los Americanos (Bravo Americano & Rayo Americano) vs. Birthright (Uriah Connors & Stacks with Arianna Grace, Lexis King & Charlie Dempsey) in a number contender’s tag team match

The match goes through a commercial break. Grace gets involved in the match, which also involves some comedy spots. The match also has some intensity and plenty of action. El Grande Americano appears just before the finish to play a part in the outcome.

During the match, Shiloh Hill storms to ringside with a metal folding chair. Hill stalks Lexis King, who flees with Hill on his trail.

El Grande Americano distracts the refereee so that Bravo & Rayo came load their mask with gimmicks. Rayo headbutts Stacks off the apron, and Bravo hits Connors with a flying headbutt with the loaded mask. Bravo then covers Connors for a pinfall.

Match result: Los Americanos defeated Birthright when Bravo Americano pinned Connors to become number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship

In winning, Los Americanos earns a title shot against champions Vanity Project for the NXT tag titles at Stand & Delver on Saturday. Vanity Project look on from a box seats overlooking the ring. They have a staredown with Los Americanos.

Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan

Parker shines early on until Jordan traps her in the ring skirt. Parker then takes a bump into the ring steps, and she sells her arm as the show cuts to a commercial break. Jordan is working over Parker as the show returns from the break.

Jordan continues to target the arm. She goes to springboard into a split-legged moonsault, Parker blocks her. That leads to a spot on the top rope where Jordan takes an avalanche suplex from Parker. Sit-out tree slam by Parker, and Parker cradles Jordan for a pin. Really good bout.

Match result: Jaida Parker defeated Kelani Jordan via pinfall.

— Vanity Project tries to flirt with Blake Monroe, and they offer to protect her from Tatum Paxley. Monroe recently stole the Women’s North American Championship belt from Paxley.

Contract Signing for the NXT Championship Fatal Four Way

Seating behind two tables in the ring are NXT Champion Joe Hendry, and his three challengers — Ethan Page, Ricky Saints and Tony D’Angelo. NXT General Manager Robert Stone is hosting the segment.

D’Angelo steals the show with a great promo on all three of his opponents. There is plenty of bickering, as usual with contract signing segments in WWE. Joe Hendry with a good babyface promo, but D’Angelo still outdoes them all on the microphone. D’Angelo talks about NXT being in his blood. Tony D vows to run all three over like a freight train. This leads to a wild brawl and the breaking of two tables.

D’Angelo chokeslams Saints through a table, while Page drops Hendry with a Razor’s Edge through the other table. Fisticuffs between Page and D’Angelo in a pull-apart brawl.

Jasper Troy vs. Keanu Carver with Josh Briggs as special referee

Booked like a hoss fight, this is what Gorilla Monsoon might have dubbed as the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object. They brawl around ringside before the bell, and they tussle over Troy’s chain he brings to the ring.

Briggs lets things slide as ref, but he also gets in Carver’s face early on to threaten him as the referee in charge. Carver shoves a planted fan at ringside, and Briggs intervenes to shove Carver back. Carver then stalks Vic Joseph at the commentary booth before pointing his finger and issues a warning to Booker T. All of that walking and talking allows Troy to recover, and he gives Carver a chokeslam on the announce desk. The booth implodes. Troy follows up with a Bossman slam on Carver for a two count.

Upset over the two count, Troy shoves Briggs. He as referee responds by booting Troy with a high kick. Troy takes a Monty Brown Pounce from Carver, before Carver hoists him up to deliver a running powerslam. Carver then covers Troy, and Briggs counts the pinfall.

Match result: Keanu Carver defeated Jasper Troy via pinfall.

After the match, Carver insists that Briggs raise Carver’s arm as the winner. Briggs at first agrees, but is a swerve. Briggs instead hits Carver with a short-arm clothesline. Still wearing the zebra stripes, Briggs then exits the ring with Carver down selling in the ring.

Following a commercial break, Tatum Paxley enters the ring for a confrontation with Blake Monroe.

NXT North American Champion Tatum Paxley challenges Blake Monroe

Paxley cuts a promo that ultimately leads to her issuing an ultimatum to Monroe. Paxley wants Monroe to bring her the title in NYC, which Monroe recently stole from Paxley. Out comes Monroe holding the title belt. Monroe is soon challenged for a title match at Stand & Deliver by rightful champion, who plays on Monroe’s ego to convince her to accept the match.

Paxley warns Monroe her bad side will come out. Paxley says she can be the “goth to your glamour” or “the fire to your hell.” Paxley will allow Monroe time to think on the offer, but Paxley demands the title belt from Monroe.

They fight over the belt itself in a tug-o-war. Paxley then elbows Monroe and the fight is on. Monroe powders, and she snatches the title belt again as she flees the ring.

— Sarah Schreiber interviews Robert Stone, and they hype the card for Stand & Deliver. Stone announces that a ten-person mixed tag team match for the pre-show on Saturday. All of the members of Birthright against Eli Knight, Shiloh Hill, Wren Sinclair, and Hank & Tank. This was also set up earlier in a locker room skit with the babyfaces.

Keanu Carver storms into interrupt the interview. Carver demands a match against Josh Briggs. Stone remarks that he also spoke to Jasper Troy, and Carver screams he does not give a damn about Troy. Stone instead books a triple threat match with Carver vs. Troy vs. Briggs. Stone then hears a loud commotion off camera. Stone rushes to find Kelani Jordan was ambushing Jaida Parker. That would seem to set up a return match between the two.

— Sol Ruca and Zaria are the focus of a video package that highlights their backstory as teammates turned rivals. This hypes their match at Stand & Deliver.

— NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is backstage with talking with her Fatal Influence cohorts — WWE Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. Izzi Dame was eavesdropping and she interrupts to tell Jayne that she will tell her exactly what she wants. Sure. Okay.

— Hard sell for Stand & Deliver as the Vic Joseph voices over a rundown of the NXT card on Saturday.

AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion Lola Vice vs. Kendal Grey (with WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair) in a NXT Women’s Championship number one contender’s match

Chain wrestling at the start, and this is good from the start. They wrestle through a commercial break. Vice delivers a hip attack in a corner, but misses a follow-up attempt. She is still able to kick Grey off the apron, and a seated senton off the apron by Vice just before the show cuts to a split-screen commercial break. Near falls during the break during picture-in-picture.

Grey fires up after the show returns from the break, and Grey goes to bar an arm for a submission hold. Vice fights to block the hold, and Vice counters to apply a sleeper. Grey escapes only to walk into a spinning back fist. Grey takes a bump out of the ring selling the back fist. On cue, out comes the Fatal Influence trio.

Jacy Jayne enters ringside flanked by Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. The heel trio distracts Vice, which allows Grey to recover enough to fight back. Vice goes for a hip attack, but Grey moves out of the way. Vice crashes into the ring steps, and Grey rolls Vice back into the ring.

Grey climbs the turnbuckles, and she leaps off the top rope. Vice cuts her off with a superkick for a near fall. In closing moments, Grey lands a roaring elbow for a close near fall. They struggle to their feet as they rise and trade strikes. Punches and kicks. Vice does her signature series of kicks, but Grey counters by trapping Vice’s leg in an ankle lock. They go on to trade near falls.

For the finish, Vice locks in a guillotine chokehold. She cranks on it as Grey tries to roll free. Grey with a Northern Lights suplex while Vice has the guillotine locked on. The referee counts a pinfall while a ref on the floor sees Grey tap out to the submission hold.

Disputed finish as Shawn Michaels comes to help sort things out. Cliffhanger ending as the show goes off the air with no announced winner.

WWE NXT live results: Tony D’Angelo vs. Ricky Saints

Former WWE NXT Champion Ricky Saints will take on hopeful future challenger Tony D’Angelo in the headliner for tonight’s WWE NXT on The CW.

This came about as D’Angelo was gunning for a title shot against Joe Hendry, but Saints got involved instead.

The next challenger for the men’s North American title will be determined in a gauntlet match featuring Jackson Drake, Dion Lennox, Shiloh Hill, Charlie Dempsey and a mystery entrant. The winner will challenge Myles Borne at Stand & Deliver.

After winning the Women’s Speed title last week, Wren Sinclair will team with Kendal Grey against Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid as Grey is targeting NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne.

In a tournament match to determine the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team titles, The Culling battle Eli Knight & Elio LeFleur.

Following a backstage skirmish, Thea Hail will go one-on-one with Kelani Jordan.

– Following the Then, Now, Forever signature, we went right to the WWE Performance Centre before a recap of last week’s episode from Houston, Texas was shown.

– Backstage, we saw Mr. Stone chatting with Shiloh Hill, as Tatum Paxley asked him where her NXT Women’s North American Title was, as well as Blake Monroe. Paxley left with Shiloh, who was on his scooter. Meanwhile, a referee appeared and tried to get Stone’s attention for an important matter.

WrenQCC (Wren Sinclair & Kendal Grey) vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) (w/ Jacy Jayne)

Henley charged at Sinclair early, but got taken down instead. Henley got the advantage soon enough in the cornerf with stomps, but got reversed into an early pin attempt by her opponent. Henley got hit with a spinning kick from Sinclair, as she quickly recovered and taggged Reid in. The Fatal Influence duo shelled Sinclair with consecutive elbow drops, but Sinclair fought back. Meanwhile, we got a picture-in-picture inset during the match of Mr. Stone checking in on Eli Knight and Elio Lefleur down and out backstage after being beaten down by mysterious assailants.

Back in the ring, Sinclair got blasted with a kick by Henley, as she quickly recoered with a floatover double underhook suplex. Henley tagged in Reid, who took down Sinclair with a modified Blockbuster while Henley had a hold of Sinclair. This led to a commercial break.

We returned from break as we learned that Eli Knight & Elio Lefleur were taken to medical attention after the backstage attack. Bringing attention back to our match at hand, Sinclair hit Grey with an enzuigiri as she reached out to Reid for a tag. Reid dodged an attempted strike from Grey, which opened her up for a back body drop from Sinclair. Reid finally entered the match and held her own against Grey and Henley for a bit. The Fatal Influence duo soon took advantage with a double team on Reid, before Grey hit a modified ushigoroshi on her opponent. Sinclair broke up the count to keep this match going.

Grey tried for that ushigoroshi again, but Reid reversed and hit a nice spinning elbow instead. Grey found herself trapped in Reid’s armbar while Sinclair locked in the Final Wrench on Henley to keep her from interfering. Grey tapped out to win this match.

After the match Grey called her shot against Jacy Jayne, but Lola Vice appeared and instead said that she’d be the one to be the NXT Women’s Champion. NXT General Manager Mr. Stone soon showed up and declared that next week in New York, we’d see Kendal Grey vs. Lola Vice, with the winner going on to face Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Title at Stand & Deliver next Saturday.

This was a good opener for tonight’s show, especially as someone who enjoys technical wrestling as much as I do. The scheduled Grey vs. Vice match for next week’s NXT should prove to be an interesting encounter to watch.

Sol Ruca’s face-to-face with Zaria

Ruca was already in the ring and said that she has seen everything that Zaria had to say on social media, telling everyone who would listen. Ruca said that she thought that she and Zaria were stronger than this, but she found out how Zaria thought she wasn’t worth standing next to her anymore.

Ruca talked about how she stood beside her as a friend, every time after every spear, after every snarky comment. Ruca discussed about Zaria didn’t want a team, she just wanted a moment, and that when she got that moment, Zaria decided to take her out instead. Ruca said that she genuinely believed that she and Zaria were better together, which is why she took every opportunity given to them. Maybe that’s where she went wrong, according to Ruca. She gave Zaria her spot in a women’s title battle royal, vouched for her in a TNA Knockouts championship match, and let her fight for her NXT Women’s North American Title.

Ruca said that while it was clear she was fighting for her and Zaria, it was clear that Zaria was simply just fighting for herself. Ruca said that she now knows what Zaria is, and it was time to ftake her on at Stand and Deliver.

Zaria appeared and provided a rebuttal. She accused Ruca of stealing the spotlight, stating that Ruca only saw her as nothing more but a “partner” in her shadow. Zaria said that hitting the spear and F5 was a liberating feeling. And it was fitting that Ruca wanted to fight her at Stand and Deliver, because that’s where it’s started and it’s where it will end.

Zaria yelled that Ruca chose the Women’s North American Championship over her last year at Stand and Deliver, which she hated greatly. Zaria said she hated seeing Ruca succeed, because it meant that she’d stand behind her former friend as a result. Zaria said that she cared enough to realize that as long as Ruca stood, she wasn’t going to herself. Zaria pointed out that this isn’t wasn’t about Ruca, but being about caring about only her interests.

Ruca got upset at Zaria’s gaslighting and silent treatments just because she didn’t get opportunities, then accusing her of being the villain in her story. Zaria corrected Ruca, declaring her not to be the villain of her story, but nothing more but a mistake.

I find this feud having no true heel/face dynamics and it being treated as a realistic breakup (or as realistic as a wrestling storyline can get anyway) between friends. The Performance Center crowd siding with either woman adds to this. Hopefully the presumed Stand & Deliver match between Ruca and Zaria delivers.

– Ricky Saints & Ethan Page argued about who would be the NXT Champion, which annoyed Josh Briggs. Page uttered that between him and Saints, he was the one who pinned Joe Hendry, which brought out the man himself. Hendry said that he doesn’t care which one he’ll face, or if it’s Tony D’Angelo, he’d handle either one of them at Stand & Deliver. After Hendry left, Saints and Page continued to argue amongst themselves.

Kelani Jordan vs. Thea Hail

This match got underway with chain wrestling between Jordan and Hail before the latter hit a Lou Thesz Press. Jordan caught Hail’s leg and began hitting her with punches to the face. Jordan then followed that with an overhead suplex for a two-count. Jordan smashed Hail’s head against the turnbuckle twice, but the third attempt was block before Hail gave Jordan a taste of her own medicine.

Hail struck Jordan in the corner and tried for a suplex, but that was block. Jordan escaped a standing armbar from Hail with a slam, but she got caught in it once more. Jordan broke it up by throwing her into the middle turnbuckle before connecting with an X-Factor. Jordan then got the victory after a Rob Van Dam-style split-legged moonsault.

After the match, Jordan continued the attack on Hail before she locked in an arm bar on her. Jaida Parker ran in and went after Jordan and sent her to a retreat.

Kelani Jordan def. Thea Hail via pinfall

Kind of a short match, which makes it really hard to judge on its own merits or lack thereof. Hail did show some nice fire, but it was ultimately for naught. The Jordan vs. Parker feud should prove to be a hard-hitting one.

– We got remarks from Jasper Troy about what Keanu Carver did last week in his attempt to ruin Booker T Appreciation Night. Troy said that he and Carver would face off next week in New York and he promised to make Carver pay for what he tried to do with Booker.

– Backstage, Shiloh Hill was talking with Tatum Paxley, telling her that he put a picture of Blake Monroe through some tracking software, apparently having a tutorial of some sort for that. Hill gave Paxley the supposed info about Monroe’s whereabouts before leaving for the Gauntlet Eliminator Match that was coming up next.

Gauntlet Eliminator Match (#1 Contender for NXT North American Championship): Shiloh Hill vs. Dion Lennox vs. Jackson Drake vs. Charlie Dempsey vs. ???

Hill entered first before the commercial break, with Jackson Drake being the man he would face first in this Gauntlet Eliminator.

Drake applied a headlock on Hill, but got hit with a running shoulder block. Drake attempted a neckbreaker, but Hill countered that into an attack on the arm. Drake recovered and dropped him on the top rope with the guillotine. With Hill stunned, Drake hit a knee drop to the head and maintained control of this match early on. Hill recovered, but got hit with a standing Russian leg sweep from Drake. The former Evolve Champion soon found himself hit with consecutive tilt-a-whirl slams from Hill.

Entrant #3: Dion Lennox

Lennox stormed the ring and hit Hill and Drake with spinebusters to take command of the match as the match headed to a commercial break.

Entrant #4: Charlie Dempsey

The Birthright’s patriarch entered during commercial, as he took over in the match as we returned. He had Lennox locked in a submission, with Drake and Hill soon joining in a train of sorts. Lennox escaped, but it was Hill who got control with scoop slams a-plenty. Dempsey trapped Hill in a modified STF that was broken up by Drake. Dempsey and Drake brawled it out in the ring, while Hill was thrown into the barricade by Lennox.

Lennox entered the ring and hit a double German Suplex on Dempsey and Drake. While Dempsey and Lennox fought, the final competitor was set to enter. The voice of Candice LeRae was heard, stating that she had tried everything to snap a certain someone out of a funk, and maybe it took a place that he called home… and the final entrant, as we’d find out, is Johnny Gargano!.

Entrant #5: Johnny Gargano

Gargano seemed confused but the WWEPC crowd chanted for him before entering the ring. Drake kicked Gargano as he entered, which seemd to knock him out cold. Dempsey took down Lennox with a triangle choke, but was lifted into a sitdown powerbomb. Drake kicked Lennox out of the ring, which left him at the mercy of OTM, who laid Lennox out with a curbstomp into the broken barricade. Lennox was thrown into the ring, as Hill hit his finisher, a back suplex into a neckbreaker to score the first elimination.

Dion Lennox has been eliminated

We returned from the commercial break as Dempsey and Hill had Drake locked in a simultaneous leg lock that got broken up as the two began trading blows. Meanwhile, Gargano was still out cold on the apron as Drake leapt over the top rope to take both Hill and Drake out with an amazing dive. In the ring, Drake connected with a 450 Splash on Hill, but that wasn’t enough to get the elimination. Dempsey entered the ring and attempted a German suplex, but Drake landed on his feet. Drake clotheslined Dempsey out of the ring as he then hit a suicide dive on the follow-up. Drake tried for a leap, but got caught in the finisher of Hill, which got him the three.

Jackson Drake has been eliminated

Dempsey stepped back into the ring and and began to mix it up with Hill, as he connected with a Northern Lights Suplex, followed by a double underhook Suplex. Dempsey attempted a back suplex, but he found himself with Hill’s finishing move to get the elimination. Afterwards, The Birthright assaulted Hill as Stacks Lorenzo and Uriah Connors threw him into the steel stairs. Dempsey hit a German Suplex on Hill, who was then thrown into the ring. With Hill left beaten, Gargano stood up and was pushed by LeRae, which was counted as a pinfall win.

Johnny Gargano wins the Gauntlet Eliminator to become No. 1 Contender for the NXT North American Championship

The actual gauntlet match was pretty fun, and the finish was a bit ridiculous, but oddly fitting for the rather ridiculous world of NXT.,

– Robert Stone was a busy, busy man as a referee complained that nobody wanted to officiate the Jasper Troy vs. Keanu Carver match next week. Stone said he’d think of something. Jaida Parker rolled up and wanted to face Kelani Jordan next week, Stone then booked the match for next week.

– OTM were backstage as we found out that we’d see them and Darkstate in a six-man tag match next week in New York. TNA World Champion Mike Santana was revealed to be the partner of OTM in this big six-man tag match.

NXT Tag Title Contenders Tournament: Shawn Spears & Niko Vance vs. Los Americanos (Rayo & Bravo Americano)

El Grande Americano’s two charges were revealed as the replacement for Elio & Eli after their winning effort against The Vanity Project last week.

Bravo started out against Spears in this match with a tie-up in the middle of the ring. Bravo broke out of an arm wrench from Spears and hit an arm drag as she showed off. Spears taunted Bravo by flexing his derriere, and got a dropkick in response. Rayo tagged in as Vance entered for his team. Los Americanos’ attempt at a double team was overpowered by a double clothesline from Vance. Rayo chopped at Vance’s chest, but that did minimal damage to the area. Bravo blind tagged in as their attempt at a double team finally succeed against Vance with stereo kicks. Bravo took out Spears with a dive, as Rayo tried one of his own. Vance caught him, but Bravo assisted with the suicide dive to bring Vance to his knees. We took a break in the action.

The match continued from break as Bravo soared and took Spears out with the diving crossbody. The two men made the tag to their respective corners as Rayo was on fire against Vance and Spears. Rayo hit a moonsault from the top against Vance, as he and Bravo attempted some kind of double team move, but Vance caught the two. Vance chokeslammed Bravo onto Rayo. Bravo showed some nice strength with a scoop slam on Vance. He tried the airplane spin on Spears, but Vance stopped that.

Vance headed to the top rope, but Rayo pulled Bravo out, which caused a distraction as Bravo put something under his mask. Spears superkicked Rayo on the apron, as he hit a slam on Bravo. Outside, Rayo loaded his mask and hit the headbutt on Spears. Vance got taken out with a loaded headbutt on the apron by Bravo. The cover on Spears and this one’s done.

The Birthright were seen taunting Los Americanos from the NXT Balcony, as the two teams will face off with the winner facing The Vanity Project at Stand & Deliver

Los Americanos def. Shawn Spears & Niko Vance via pinfall

This was an okay match. Like with El Grande Americano, it all comes down on the enjoyment on the whole Americanos thing. I just couldn’t really get into this match as much as I’d hope to.

– Josh Briggs volunteered to be the referee for Jasper Troy vs. Keanu Carver for next week’s show. Elsewhere, Tatum Paxley was seen pacing at a hallway, in search of Blake Monroe.

– Blake Monroe was seen with the NXT Women’s North American Championship that she stole. Monroe was enjoying a bath when a knock on the door was heard. It was Tatum Paxley, who grabbed at her as we learned that they’d be facing off next week in New York for the Women’s North American Title.

– We got remarks from Sexyy Red about her appearance at Stand & Deliver next Saturday.

Ricky Saints (w/ Ethan Page) vs. Tony D’Angelo

Our main event kicked off with a staredown between the two as D’Angelo blocked a kick from Saints by grabbing at the foot. Saint tried to engage in a mat-based duel with D’Angelo, and managed to keep up with him in this duel. D’Angelo eventually used his strength to overpower Saints with a lifting takedown that sent him rolling out of the ring. At ringside, Saints blocked an overhead belly-to-belly from D’Angelo. However, he couldn’t block the military press throw between the ropes from D’Angelo. Saints went for a leap from the apron, but D’Angelo caught him. The attempted powerslam on the outside was countered by Saints, who pushed him right into the steel steps, which took us to the final commercial break of the evening.

We returned from commercial as Saints applied a resthold on D’Angelo. The hold was broken up as D’Angelo rammed his foe into the corner. Saints tried again with a sleeper on D’Angelo, but he got thrown out of it. D’Angelo tried to fight back with a standing Samoan Drop. Ethan Page pulled at D’Angelo’s leg to create a momentary distraction. Off of this, Saints attempted the Revolution DDT, but D’Angelo muscled his way out of it to hit a suplex instead. Saints recovered and hit two shotgun dropkicks as he attempted a Rochambeau on his foe. Saints couldn’t connect on that, but he did manage to hit a Spear for the near-fall.

Saints threw D’Angelo into the corner as he then stomped at the leg. Another Irish Whip from Saints to D’Angelo into the opposite corner. Saints chopped at D’Angelo’s chest as he then landed two kicks to the back. That seemed to wake up D’Angelo, who got fired up and hit Saints with a hard strike to the face. Big clothesline by D’Angelo was followed by two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes. Spear by D’Angelo made no mistake, as he held Saints up for the Chokeslam. Page attacked D’Angelo to force the DQ as he and Saints attacked him two-on-one.

After the match, Saints and Page attempted a spike piledriver on D’Angelo, but Joe Hendry ran in for the save and fought off the two. With Saints and Page disposed of, Hendry stared down D’Angelo and hit him with the Standing Ovation. In the midst of this, Saints and Page stared down one another as they got a hand each on the NXT Championship.

Before the show wrapped, Sarah Schreiber interviewed Robert Stone, who revealed that we’d see a fatal-four way match for the NXT Title with the four men we just saw. On top of that, we’d get a contract signing with Hendry, D’Angelo, Saints, and Page on next week’s show.

An okay main event that was meant more to set up the Stand & Deliver main event match than anything else. The Page/Saints dynamic is honestly proving to be the most entertaining element amidst everything.

As for this show, it’s NXT. Your enjoyment will come down to whether the sort of show that Shawn Michaels and crew have come up with on here is something to enjoy. I will say that the gauntlet eliminator and the opening tag match were the standouts for me on this night. Also, the build to Stand & Deliver has been good from what I’ve seen, and in some cases, perhaps a bit better than some of the WrestleMania matches being set up.

WWE NXT live results: Booker T Appreciation Night, three title matches

WWE NXT is live tonight from Houston, Texas — with see three title matches and Booker T honored in his hometown.

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne will defend against former partners and current rivals Sol Ruca and Zaria after defending against both of them recently.

In a rare steel cage match in NXT, Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley will defend against former champion Izzi Dame. Paxley defeated Dame for the title at the recent Vengeance Day and their feud continued last week.

The Women’s Speed title will also be on the line as Fallon Henley defends against Wren Sinclair. The Texas native earned her opportunity by winning a tournament.

The rest of the card will feature Hank & Tank facing off against Birth Right’s Lexis King & Uriah Connors in the first round of NXT’s Tag Team title number one contender’s tournament, and six-man tag action with Los Americanos taking on Vanity Project.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Jacy Jayne (with Fatal Influence) vs. Sol Ruca vs. Zaria in a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship

NXT Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid are ringside in Jayne’s corner. So far, Henley has the best St. Patrick’s Day gear on the show.

Lots of nifty spots, leading to near falls where Hayne delivers a codebreaker. Ruca breaks the count by springboarding into a Superfly splash, and Ruca gets a two count on Jayne. Vic Joseph and Booker T on commentary played up the champ being at a disadvantage not having to drop the fall to lose her title.

Ruca barely cleared the ropes on a Space Flying Tiger Drop, and the audience collectively held their breath for a moment. Outside the ring, Lainey Reid interferes to give Jayne an underhanded advantage. While Zaria and Ruca sell, Fatal Influence taunts and poses as the show goes into a commercial break. The match continues in a split-screen.

In the middle of the match, Los Americanos are shown preparing for their match tonight when the show returns. Teammates turned rivals, Sol Ruca and Zaria finally square off. They trade strikes until Jayne bursts into the ring with a senton. Jayne is thwarted as Ruca leapfrogs a spear from Zaria, and Jayne takes the spear. Ruca then spears Zaria, and the live audience comes unglued.

In their take on a Tower of Doom, Zaria leaps on the ropes for a German suplex on Jayne while Ruca flips over taking a back suplex. Zaria tries to cover the other two, but both kick out. Zaria looks to pummel Ruca, but Jayne land a missile dropkick and a cannonball. Zaria cuts off Jayne to deliver the F-5 to the champ, but Ruca breaks up the pinning attempt. Zaria goes for the F-5 on Ruca, only to get an X-factor from Ruca. Really good sequence.

Zaria take a bump out for the ring as they go home, and Ruca crushes Jayne with a Sol Snatcher. Ruca goes for a sure pin, and Zaria pulls Zaria out of the ring to break the count. Zaria then executes the F-5 on the outside, and Ruca takes a bump on the floor. Fatal Influence’s Henley and Reid interfere by keeping Zaria from getting back into the ring. Zaria drops Reid with a headbutt, and Henley takes the F-5 on the floor. Meanwhile, Jayne crawls over to steal the win by pinning Ruca. Great opener. And still…

Match result: NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defeated Sol Ruca and Zaria in a triple threat match when Jayne pinned Ruca to retain her title.

— Ricky Saints is supposed to “call someone out” in the next segment on the show. He is heading to the ring as the show cuts to a commercial break. Saints gets a full entrance after the break. With RodeoHouston taking place head-to-head tonight with NXT, Saints is dressed for the rodeo complete with cowboy boots, leather vest and a bolo tie. A talking segment leads to dissension between Saints and his cohort, Ethan Page. NXT Champion Joe Hendry then confronts both of them. Tony D’Angelo then lays out everyone

Saints first delivers a monologue saying the main event (himself) is standing before you. He boasts about himself while talking about driving three hours from Austin to Houston. He pivots to talking about his tag team with Ethan Page. He brags about how they can pivot, mentioning there win last week against the team of Joe Hendry and Myles Borne.

Saints dubs himself and Page as “The Slump Busters” for their team name. If their other cohorts in Vanity Project were not in the title mix, Saints and Page would go for the tag titles. Out comes Ethan Page to join alongside Saints. Page likes the name, but he was thinking “Bounce-Back Boys” instead. Saints tells Page he can call out NXT North American Champion Myles Borne to issue a challenge. Page informs Saints that Page does not want to be North American Champion anymore. Rather, Page wants to be a two-time champion.

Saints is at a lose for words as he processes the intentions of Page. The tension is broken by the entrance of Joe Hendry, who enters holding the NXT title belt.

Hendry cuts a promo that pits Saints against Page. Hendry claims Saints uses Page to cover for his own loses. Hendry points out Saints cannot regain the title. Saints cannot play guitar, and he cannot sing. Henry then mentions that Saints and Page once wrestled each other at Stand & Deliver.

Page and Saints then get into an argument and they exchange barbs. They look ready to fight each other when they instead attack Hendry. He fights then off and give each a fallaway slam.

Suddenly, Tony D’Angelo runs in to attack all three. D’Angelo wrecks shop and lays everyone out, and he stands menacingly over all.

Birthright is backstage along with Fit Finlay and William Regal. As Regal tells Birthright they must win the tag team tournament, up walks Robert Stone. Regal talks Stone aside trying to gain favor with the new general manager of NXT, and Regal offers to put in a word with Shawn Michaels on making it a permanent role as GM.

Los Americanos (El Grande Americano Nuevo, Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) vs. Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes & WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake)

The heel trio takes over before the match goes through a commercial break. Heat on Rayo Americano when the show returns from the break, leading to El Grande Americano running wild after a hot tag.

Americanos with a stereo dives while wearing cowboy hats, and Grande gets a near fall in the ring. He then trades near falls with the heel trio, and Grande kicks out after taking a Burner Hammer and a 450 splash from Drake.

The crowd is clearly behind El Grande Americano as he hulks up. In the closing moments, Drake rolls up El Grande Americano and uses the ropes for illegal leverage. Brad Baylor also helps with an assist, and the referee catches the heels in the act. Meanwhile behind the ref’s back, El Grande is handed a gimmick and he loads his mask.

Grande Americano knocks Baylor off the apron with the shot from the loaded mask, but Drake dodges the loaded mask to deliver a running knee strike. Rayo with a blind tag, followed by another blind tag by Bravo. Russian leg sweep, flying headbutt combo by Rayo and Bravo, followed by a flying headbutt with the loaded mask by El Grande Americano. He then covers Smokes for a pinfall.

Match result: Los Americanos defeated Vanity Project when El Grando Americano pinned Ricky Smokes.

— In a backstage skit, Sean Legacy is on crutches and says he cannot wrestle. Robert Stone rules that Eli Knight must find a replacement to team with him or forfeit their spot in the tag team tournament. That led to WWE Speed Champion Elio LeFleur offering to team with Knight, and Stone okays the new team.

Keanu Carver crashes Booker T Appreciation Night

Vic Joseph hosts a segment for Booker T Appreciation Night ceremony, and Joseph introduces Booker T to the crowd. Booker T is the focus of a great video package honoring his career in wrestling as both a performer and mentor.

Booker T is in tears while surrounded by his wife and kids and two students from his Reality of Wrestling school. Joseph presents Booker with a plaque commemorating Booker T Appreciation Night. The crowd chants “you deserve it” as Booker T displays the plaque.

Booker gets the house microphone and says he has been doing this for 35 years. Booker thanks the fans for making it all possible. Keanu Carver suddenly interrupts the ceremony. Carver yells for everyone to shut up, and he shoves aside a referee on his way to the ring.

Several students try to intervene, but Carver tosses them aside with ease on his way into the ring to confront Booker. Carver is squaring off with Booker when in runs Jasper Troy to brawl with Carver. They briefly fight before Troy clotheslines Carver out of the ring. Referees pour out to keep Carver separated from Troy.

Carves exits and out comes the NXT roster to honor Booker. The roster is joined by Robert Stone. Booker says to cut the music. Booker cuts a promo saying someone needs to take control, and Booker yells at Stone that kind of stuff should not happen in Booker’s hometown city. Booker’s theme music then awkwardly blares over the house speakers, and the show cuts to commercial while Booker is still cutting a promo. The segment inexplicably ends without sound during a split-screen break.

Fallon Henley (with Fatal Influence) vs. Wren Sinclair (with Kendak Grey) for the WWE Speed Championship

Five-minute time limit for this title bout. Sinclair is billed from Texas, which got a decent enough pop from the crowd. The home state aspect might have popped the crowd more at first if the match had not followed a segment already playing on hometown vibes. However, the crowd still popped big for the title change, as Sinclair won the title in her home state.

For the finish, Sinclair counters an O’Connor Roll with about a minute-and-a-half remaining in the bout. Sinclair then catches Henley with “The Final Wrench” (cattle mutilation hold), and Henley submits. And new…

Match result: Wren Sinclair defeated WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley via submission to win the title.

— Ethan Page and Ricky Saints have stormed into Robert Stone’s office, and they are angry about Tony D’Angelo ambushing them earlier tonight. They demand that Stone take action. Page then says Saints wants D’Angelo in a singles match next week. Saints is taken aback at first, but Page talks him into it so long as Page is in his corner. Saints against D’Angelo is set for next Tuesday.

— A commercial for NXT Stand & Deliver announces the show is April 4 at The Factory in St. Louis.

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. Birthright (Uriah Connors & Stacks with Arianna Grace, Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King) in a number one contender’s tag team tournament quarterfinal match

Heat on Hank, until a hot tag to Tank. The babyface duo then a superplex/swanton bomb combination. Reception issues while trying to watch on my local CW affiliate, so my feed is choppy for a bit. Reception clears up in time for Hank to plant Stacks with a Bossman slam. Lexis King jumps into the ring and takes a bullet for Stack.

Somehow the interference by King does not qualify as a disqualification, and King is sandwiched with a stereo splash by Hank & Tank. Stacks then makes Hank & Tank’s combo finisher, but Connors already made a bling tag. Connors rushes in to roll up Hank for a three count. Birthright wins to advance in the tournament.

Match result: Birthright defeated Hank & Tank when Uriah Connors pinned Hank.

— NXT Champ Joe Hendry demands Robert Stone book a match with the champ against Tony D’Angelo. Stone could like to oblige, but he already booked Saints against D’Angelo for next week.

— Timing was tight as the show crept closer to the top of the hour, and they rush into the main event.

Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame in a steel cage match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

Winner by pinfall or submission, no climbing out to win. They still tried to climb out, and the fight began before they ever got in the cage. This was a wild brawl with Paxley retaining her title. The reception on my CW broadcast was in and out at times. They used weapons like chairs, along with using the cage itself as a weapon at time. They looked to have a gritty cage match without blood.

They build to a superplex, and then they build to a powerbomb spot on a metal folding chair. Paxley counters with a code red on the chair, and Paxley follows up with Cemetery Drive on Dame. Paxley covers Dame for a pinfall.

Match result: NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley defeated Izzi Dame via pinfall to retain her title.

— In a cliffhanger ending, Paxley was celebrating and posing with the title belt the ramp. Blake Monroe popped out of a trap door like The Undertaker. She pulls Paxley down through the trap door, and Monroe poses as the show goes off the air.

WWE NXT live results: Vengeance Day fallout

A big tag match headlines tonight’s Vengeance Day fallout edition of WWE NXT.

The main event of Saturday’s PLE saw Joe Hendry successfully defend the NXT Championship against Ricky Saints. Tonight, they’ll meet again as Hendry teams up with Myles Borne against Saints & Ethan Page. Page tried to interfere and cost Hendry the match at Vengeance Day, but a miscommunication helped Hendry retain.

Borne became the new NXT North American Champion two weeks ago by dethroning Page for the title.

Sol Ruca will be in action tonight against Lainey Reid. It’s happening one week in advance of Ruca challenging Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship in a triple threat match that also includes Zaria.

A new number one contender to Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley will be determined when Wren Sinclair takes on Thea Hail tonight.

Plus, Jasper Troy, Eli Knight, and Sean Legacy collide in a triple threat bout. We’ll also likely get an appearance by new NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley following her win over Izzi Dame at Vengeance Day.

In a prelude to tonight’s episode of NXT is a recap from last weekend of Vengeance Day. The follow up tonight is in front of a live studio audience at a sound stage from the Performance Center in Orlando.

Opening the show is the newly-crowned NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley with an in-ring monologue. She is excited to be the new champ, and the studio audience chanted “you deserve it” for her. She credits them with winning the title, and not because of The Culling or anyone else. The fans reminded her to keep going.

Paxley says she won the title for “us”, and she realizes something about Izzi Dame. With that, Dame interrupts the monologue and throws to a video package recapping the journey of Tatum Paxley in NXT. It includes footage from her tryout and her turning on Ivy Nile in a previous angle from some time ago. Dame uses that to claim Paxley current persona is “just another mask” to hide herself as being a “weirdo” in NXT. Dame sarcastically insists she is impressed Paxley is such a chameleon, but Paxley will forever be the girl trying to fit in.

Dame says she hopes Paxley enjoyed the last few days “borrowing” Dame’s title. Dame warns Paxley that she wants her North American title back from Paxley. Dame steps towards Paxley, whose escape is blocked by Shawn Spears and Niko Vance of The Culling. Dame boots Paxley with a high kick and gives her a jackknife powerbomb. Dame then stands over Paxley posing with the North American title belt alongside, and she is flanked by Spears and Vance.

This whole segment would be better if they skipped the banter and went straight to the attack. An opening angle such as this is overdone in WWE. Speaking of something overdone in WWE, up next is a triple threat match. But first a skit from the men’s locker room.

— Ricky Saints is talking with Ethan Page in their locker room, and Saints is trying to give Page a pep talk. Page begins to agree with Saints their recent loses are a blimp on their stellar careers, an they will soon be back in title contention.

Jasper Troy vs. Eli Knight vs. Sean Legacy in a triple threat match

Legacy and Knight wore gear with matching colors, which is fitting since they both won the match in what became a de facto handicap match.

Lots of high spots and action. Troy was a monster heel against the two babyfaces, until he is ambushed by Keanu Carver doing a run-in. Carver attacked Troy before chokeslaming Troy on the broadcast booth, and the desk implodes on impact. That takes Troy out of the match for a little while. Carver, who has history with Booker T, has a confrontation with Booker as the show cuts to a commercial break

Back from the break, and Troy is still laid out on the floor. Meanwhile, Knight and Legacy are having a good match in the ring. Troy eventually rises and comes back to pummel both Knight and Legacy. Troy gets a near fall after a chokeslam, but Knight and Legacy work to cut him off.

For the finish, Legacy springboards into a 450 splash, followed by a moonsault press off the top rope from Knight. Both Legacy and Knight then covers Troy, and the referee counts three. They shake hands and embrace as they both are apparently declared winners of the match.

Match result: Sean Legacy and Eli Knight defeated Jasper Troy when both pinned Troy in a triple threat match.

— In a backstage skit, Tatum Paxley is searching for Izzi Dame. Paxley instead finds Shiloh Hill, who is holding a four-way lug wrench. Hill offers Paxlety a solution and they wander off together.

— The Birthright faction talk to Uriah Connors backstage, and Lexis King asks Connors if he made the call. Connors says he did not, but his dad made the call. “They” are on the way, according to Connors.

Charlie Dempsey & Tavion Heights vs. Lexis King & Uriah Connors (with Arianna Grace & Stacks)

William Regal and Fit Finlay appear in a cameo that led to Dempsey turning on Heights. No Quarter Catch Crew is apparently no more. This was more of an angle than a match, although they did wrestle for several minutes. The match itself was good, and so was the angle. Dempsey eventually turns on Heights, and Dempsey joins Birthright.

Regal and Finlay appear at ringside as Dempsey and Heights hug. That hug was a swerve, as Dempsey then executes a German suplex on the floor when he turns on Heights. Back in the ring, Lexis King uses his Coronation finisher on Heights. King then pins Heights to win the match.

Match result: Lexis King & Uriah Connors defeated Tavion Heights & Charlie Dempsey in a tag team match when King pinned Heights.

After the match, Demspey looks at his father (Regal) and Finlay. Dempsey proceeds to get into the ring to join the Birthright faction as their newest recruit.

— Another silly backstage skit with Shiloh Hill and car horns blaring, as Hill apparently used his four-way lug wrench to take the tires off all the cars in the parking lot because he did not know which belonged to The Culling. NXT GM Robert Stone has his hands full as The Culling are naturally upset about Hill’s actions.

— Tony D’Angelo is heading to the ring for a monologue. After a commercial break, D’Angelo get a full entrance. D’Angelo then cuts a promo where he sets his sights on the NXT title.

Tony D’Angelo issues warning for NXT Champion Joe Hendry

D’Angelo told us he came back for two reasons. The first involved Darkstate, and that ended at Vengeance Day when he left them beaten and empty. They were looking for answers just like he did.

The other reason D’Angelo returned is to win the NXT Championship. While he was away from NXT, D’Angelo had to be honest with himself about his future in NXT. There was one thing he could not accomplish, so he basically reinvented himself into the toughest son of a bitch in NXT. D’Angelo then vows to win the NXT title.

D’Angelo says Joe Hendry is a sensation, and D’Angelo has no issue with him — except Hendry is the champion. A year ago D’Angelo and Hendry could have sat down to break bread together, but nowadays if D’Angelo has to go through Hendry then he will do so. D’Angelo would love to say it is just business, but the title is personal to him.

This is Hendry’s one warning. Hendry better prepare for D’Angelo because he will not be denied winning the NXT title.

— Sol Ruca is warming up backstage for her match. Lola Vice approaches her to offer a pep talk, and she says they will be fighting for the women’s title at Stand & Deliver.

— Wren Sinclair and WWE Women’s Evolve Champion Kendal Grey are in a backstage kitchen talking with NXT North American Champion Myles Borne, who is looking for his tag team partner for tonight — NXT Champion Joe Hendry.

They rush over to a refrigerator in a comedic callback to Hendry jumping out of a fridge in previous skits when they say his name and he appears. Instead of Hendry, in the fridge is a cake. Hendry suddenly appears and he agrees to talk strategy for his tag match tonight where he teams with Borne. Grey eats cake with her hands in what was supposed to be comedy.

Sol Ruca vs. Lainey Reid (with Fatal Influence)

Reid’s cohorts in Fatal Influence — NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and NXT Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley — are in her corner, and they play into the match. Jayne defends her title against Ruca in an upcoming triple threat match that also involves Zaria. That plays into this match as Fatal Influence interferes in tonight’s bout.

The match goes through a commercial break. Just before the show cuts to the break, Ruca springboard into a quebrada on the floor. Soon thereafter, Henley distracts the referee while Jayne interferes by grabbing Ruca’s leg. That allows Reid to gain an underhanded advantage. Ruca is in peril as the show heads into a break.

Ruca with a comeback when the show returns from the break. Meanwhile, Zaria is shown watching the match from a backstage monitor. Reid and Ruca go back-and-forth. Reid looks to finish Ruca, but Ruca has a counter followed by a Sol Snatcher. Ruca then pins Reid, much to the chagrin of Jayne and Henley.

Match result: Sol Ruca defeated Lainey Reid via pinfall.

Thea Hail vs. Wren Sinclair in a Speed tournament final

Of course, the match was short with a three-minute time limit. This tournament finale was fun while it lasted, and Sinclair submitted Hail with under a minute remaining in the time limit. For the finish, Hail applies an armbar. Sinclair counters to apply cattle mutilation (which was called “The Final Wrench”), and Hail submits. In winning, Hail earns a title shot against WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley next Tuesday in Houston.

Match result: Wren Sinclair defeated Thea Hail vis submission in the finals of the tournament to crown a number one-contender for the Women’s Speed Championship.

— In yet another skit, Robert Stone announces a tournament to determine number one contenders for the tag team titles. The tag team roster is in his office, and this skit plays on previous skit in the show. The tag teams all start brawling as the show cuts away from the skit.

— Blake Howard interviews Fatal Influence. Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley cut promos vowing to retain their respective titles. In comes Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey to cut promos on them, and Fatal Influence leaves.

— Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame have a pull-apart brawl backstage as they are separated by referees and security. Robert Stone yells at them and announces Paxley defends her North American title against Dame in a cage match next Tuesday in Houston.

— Blake Howard interviews Robert Stone in what is a hard sell for next Tuesday in Houston. Stone announces that Darkstate and OTM are out of the tag tournament for their actions last weekend and the brawl earlier in his office. Vanity Project rolls up to gloat, and Stone surprises them to announce Vanity Project has a six-man tag team match next week against Los Americanos. Stone then throws to Vic Joseph at the announce for an important announcement about next Tuesday.

— Vic Jospeh, who does commentary alongside Booker T, announces next Tuesday is also “Booker T Appreciation Night” on NXT. I would expect an angle as well.

–Up next is the tag team main event that headlines tonight’s card.

Ethan Page & Ricky Saints vs. NXT Champion Joe Hendry & NXT North American Champion Myles Borne

The story of the match is Saints & Page remain in a slump. Before the match goes through a commercial break, Saints goes to slide the North American title belt to Page to presumably use as a weapon. However, the belt slides way past Page, and Page yells at Saints.

Heat on Borne, as the heel duo works him over. They do the old Power & Glory tandem finisher on Borne, as Saints does a superplex followed by Page doing a Superfly splash. That led to a near fall.

Hot tag to Joe Hendry, and he cleans house. Olympic slam by Hendry for a near fall on Saints. Page trips up Hendry, which leads to a double down in the ring.

In a callback to earlier the match, Page slides Saints a title belt to use as a weapon. The referee clearly sees it and takes the belt away from Saints. While he protests to the ref, Saints is rolled up by schoolboy, and Hendry gets another near fall. Saints cuts off Hendry with a spear, but Page makes a bling tag. Saints argues with Page about the blind tag.

Meanwhile, the NXT title belt is still in the ring (since the ref dropped it trying to count the roll up pinning attempt). Borne rushes to dropkick Saints out of the ring. The ref is distracted trying to get Borne out of the ring, as he was not the legal man. Behind the ref’s back, Page executes the Twisted Grin (Twist of Fate), and Hendry takes a bump on his title belt. Page then hooks a leg to pin Hendry.

Match result: Ethan Page & Ricky Saints defeated Joe Hendry & Myles Borne when Page pinned Hendry.

Despite them being at odds at times, Saints & Page celebrate their tainted victory.

WWE NXT live results: Vengeance Day go-home show

Tonight’s live WWE NXT is the go-home for this weekend’s Vengeance Day premium live event.

After turning on Sol Ruca last week, Zaria will challenge NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne for the title. Zaria confronted Jayne last week after her attack on Ruca helped Jayne retain, saying that if she didn’t grant her a title match, what happened to Ruca would happen to her.

Ricky Saints will make an appearance for an Absolute Experience segment. Starks will face NXT Champion Joe Hendry this Saturday.

The women’s Speed title tournament continues with Wren Sinclair taking on Nikkita Lyons with the winner advancing to face Thea Hail.

Before their match at the PLE, NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame and challenger Tatum Paxley will have a face-to-face while Jaida Parker and Blake Monroe will have their own confrontation ahead of Saturday.

In a trios bout, Hank Walker, Tank Ledger and Shiloh Hill will take on the Vanity Project (Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor).

NXT is back in the air in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando.

Opening the show is the new NXT North American Champion Myles Borne, and he enters wearing a suit and holding his recently won title belt over his shoulder. Borne gets into the ring for an opening monologue. He would eventually be confronted by former champ Ethan Page, who is looking for a rematch with Borne. But first, the studio audience chants “you deserve it” at Borne.

“Damn it feels so good to hold this title and hear my name announced as champion,” Borne begins his address.

Borne remarks how a new champ will usually will soak up the moment and tell a sob story, but not this time. Borne says instead of thanking the fans and his family for their support, he wants to thanks his biggest haters. Borne thanks Ethan Page, who remarked in their feud that Borne lacked a “killer instinct” within himself. That poured gasoline on a fire inside of Borne and unleashed a demon.

If you push him, Borne says he will push back. He is no Boy Scout, and Borne says his is no angel. If you had to show that demon side of himself to keep the title, then so be it.

Borne ended his monologue by posing with the title after ending with his new catchphrase: “Can you hear me now?”

Ethan Page then interrupts and confronts Page. The former champ says he can hear Borne, but all he heard was Borne thanking him. Page insists Borne should repay him with a rematch for the title. Page claims Borne got lucky last week in winning the title. Page brags about himself and his accolades since arriving in NXT.

“If there is anybody in this locker room that deserves a rematch, it’s the guy that carried this brand for the last two years,” Page boasts.

Borne tells Page he knew Page would come out here. If Page wants a rematch, Borne says he will go talk with NXT General Manager Robert Stone. Page wants the match tonight.

Out comes GM Stone, and he is happy to book a rematch, but they should take the time to put on wrestling gear. Page roars with a challenge to fight right now, as Borne is taking off his suit jacket and unbuttoning his sleeves. Stone agrees to book the impromptu match, and he calls for a referee as a hockey fight breaks out.

Myles Borne vs. Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship

They fight is on with him dressed in slacks and dress shoes. They at least both remove their jackets. The fighting soon spills outside the ring, and the roll onto the broadcast booth. Borne is fired up as he pummels Page on the desk, while the show itself cuts to its first commercial break.

The fighting continues through a split-screen break, and the show returns to the break with a production snafu that took a few seconds to swipe away from picture-in-picture. Meanwhile, Borne rips Page’s clothing trying to keep Page from fleeing the ring. Page eventually had his pants torn away, and he was wrestling in his boxer briefs.

Page with a loaded punch for a near fall. Borne kicks out and a moment later counters Page’s finisher as they go home. Borne applies an ankle lock, which is a callback to an injury angle in their feud. Page kicks free, and his shoes come off in Borne’s hands.

For the finish, Page fumbles with his ripped pants. Borne still has one shoe in his hand that he conceals from the ref, while giving Page’s pants to the referee. The ref goes to get rid of the pants by tossing what is left out of the ring with his back is turned to Borne. He smacks Page with his own shoe, and Borne executes his Borne Again finisher. Borne then hooks a leg to pin him. Great match. And still…

Match result: NXT North American Champion Myles Borne defeated Ethan Page via pinfall to retain his title.

— Sarah Schreiber is a roving reporter who tries to interview Zaria, but she does not want to talk while arriving at the building. Also outside are Darkstate, who are waiting for Tony D’Angelo. Robert Stone convinces them to go inside the building. Great timing because Tony D’Angelo arrives in a sports car, and he retrieves a crowbar from the trunk before heading inside.

Jaida Parker brawls with Blake Monroe

Out comes Blake Monroe to cut a promo on Jaida Parker, who then interrupts Monroe and confronts her. That leads to a brawl where Parker stands tall when the smoke clears.

Monroe claims that Parker interfering in Monroe’s speed match last week was reassurance for Monroe. She was reassured because Parker still needs her. Monroe remarks that worst thing anyone can do in NXT is interrupt her. Monroe keeps cutting a promo on Parker until Parker confront her.

Parker cuts a good promo on Monroe, and Monroe tries to retort. Parker cuts her off, and basically says without her gimmick Monroe is a “mediocre bitch.”

Jaida then slaps Blake hard across the face, and they begin to brawl. Monroe is sent packing as the studio audience chants for Miss Parker.

— The Vanity Project trio (NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes along with WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake) approach Ricky Saints and Ethan Page in a locker room skit. The heel trios apologizes for not having Page’s back in his impromptu match. They are told that is okay, and they can leaves. Saints then leaves after saying he must get ready for his performance tonight. This was a dumb and unnecessary skit.

— Another skit sets up Jasper Troy against Eli Knight and Sean Legacy in triple threat match. The winner meets Speed Champion Elio LeFluer in a title match.

Nikita Lyons vs. Wren Sinclair in the Speed tournament match

Sinclair won with Cattle Mutilation with seconds remaining in the three-minute time limit. In winning, Sinclair moves on to the tournament final to face Thea Hail. Whoever wins that match challenges WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley.

Match result: Wren Sinclair defeated Nikkia Lyons via submission to advance to the tournament final.

— NXT Champion Joe Hendry and North American Champion Myles Borne interact in a backstage skit. Hendry makes a joke about being deaf and immediately apologizes for it. Borne mocks Hendry with his pose and they laugh it off.

— Kelani Jordan goes to Shayna Baszler’s dojo to train for her Underground match. This was a cool cameo for Baszler, and it builds up the gimmick match between Jordan and Lola Vice at Vengeance Day.

Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame face-to-face

Paxley and Dame face off in a pre-taped segment where they sit across from each other in front of a dollhouse. Dame first cuts a promo on Paxley, but Paxley responds with a confident response. Paxley then walks away before Dame flips out and wrecks the dollhouse in a fit of rage.

Shiloh Hill, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes & Jackson Drake) in a six-man tag team match

Good match that goes through two commercial breaks. Vanity Project jumps the babyface trio during their entrance. The trios match unofficially begins before the bell, and the match gets underway during a commercial break. Much of it airs in picture-in-picture, and what started as a brawl settles into a traditional six-man tag when the show returns from the break.

Heat on Walker as the heel trio works him over. Hot tag to Tank, and he cleans house on Vanity Project. At ringside, Hank is posted by Jackson Drake. Nevertheless, Tank fights off the heels. As the fighting against spills outside the ring, Tank is trapped in the ring steps by the team formerly known as Swipe Right. Drake then dropkicks Tank from behind, and Tank looks dead as the show cuts to another commercial break.

Hot tag after the show returns from the break, and Shiloh Hill runs wild. Hill is soon cut off and Vanity Project gets a near fall on him. Hank and Drake tag in and face off. Drake lifts Hank to deliver a Burning Hammer.

Parade of high spots in the closing moments. Hank with a Bossman slam on Drake to set up a tandem spot where Hank & Tank sandwich Drake with stereo splashes. Hank & Tank then sail through the ropes with a tope each. Meanwhile, Hill leaps through the ropes to spear Drake in the ring. Hill then executes his combo finisher where he does Saito suplex into a falling neckbreaker. Hill then covers Drake for the deciding pinfall. In winning the match for his team, Hill gets a pin on the Evolve champ. That should set up a title match in the near future.

Match result: Shiloh Hill, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger defeated Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes via pinfall when Hill pinned Drake.

— Before the six-man competitors can exit, Blake Monroe pounces on the announce desk for a promo. She is now dressed in all black as she broods over Jaida Parker. Monroe announces a street fight with her and Parker for Vengeance Day.

Out comes Jaida Parker to once again confront Monroe. They are pulled apart by the winners of the six-man a tag and a slew of referees.

— Darkstate is backstage and they are livid. Osiris Griffin is down selling an apparent ambush by Tony D’Angelo. Darkstate all yell at Robert Stone. Saquon Shugars and Cutler James stay with Griffin while Dion Lennox vows to call out D’Angelo. Lennox is heading to the ring as the show heads into a commercial break.

— Dr. Martin talks with Lola Vice about a fracture in her right hand. The doctor points to an x-ray as he explains the injury to Vice. Dr. Martin advises Vice to not compete, and he says there is great risk in Vice doing the Underground match. Vice shakes her head and tells the doctor she cannot be out that long. She is the most reliable wrestler on the roster, and she vows to continue. Vice promises not to hurt her hand again, and Vice says she signed away any liability to WWE. The doctor reluctantly agrees with Vice, but he insists she come see him again after her match.

— Dion Lennox is headed to call out Tony D’Angelo. Lennox does just that from the ring. Instead of being the hunter, Lennox is now the hunted, as pointed out by D’Angelo when he addresses Lennox. D’Angelo is standing in a perch overlooking the ring as he cuts a promo on Lennox and Darkstate.

D’Angelo no longer has the over-the-top Italian accent. D’Angelo proceeds to cut a good promo on him seeking vengeance against Darkstate. Fittingly enough, D’Angelo clashes with Lennox this Saturday at Vengeance Day.

Lennox threatens to meet D’Angelo in the parking lot, and D’Angelo responds by saying bring it on. D’Angelo threatens to beat him up in the parking lot before dragging his lifeless body back into the ring to beat him.

— Sarah Schreiber interviews NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, alongside her stablemates Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence. Jayne cuts a promo where she mentions the breakup between Sol Ruca and Zaria. Jayne teasing interference by Fatal Influence as she vows to retain the title. Jayne wants “smooth sailing” heading towards Stand & Deliver.

— NXT Champ Myles Borne talks with Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights in a backstage skit. Borne thanks them for his time as stablemates in No Quarter Catch Crew. Borne leaves and Dempsey laments how unsuccessful they are compared to Borne. In walks Lexis King and his cohorts Uriah Connors, Arianna Grace and Stacks. They are still trying to recruit Dempsey into their faction, much to the chagrin of Heights.

Jacy Jayne (with Fatal Influence) vs. Zaria for the NXT Women’s Championship

Despite me hating the finish, this was a great to watch before a run-in. They had a good, long match that went through a commercial break. Before the show cut to commercials, Jayne sandwiches Zaria in the ring steps with a cannonball senton on the floor. Zaria was in control beforehand, as she looked strong at the start of the match. Henley and Reid interfere, which allows Jayne to gain an underhanded advantage ahead of the commercial break.

Superplex spot soon after the show returns from the break. Jayne takes the superplex from Zaria, and a slugfest soon develops. They trade strikes and momentum rises for Zaria. They then trade near falls.

Near fall after Zaria lands a lariat. Jayne runs into a knee before taking German suplexes from Zaria, and Zaria runs into a flying knee from Jayne for another near fall. Zaria ducks Jayne’s finisher and delivers a spear. Zaria goes for her finisher, but Jayne escapes and waffles Zaria with a Rolling Encore.

Double down as Sol Ruca runs down to the entrance ramp. Ruca clotheslines Reid and superkicks Henley at ringside. Ruca then jumps into the ring and springboard into a dual Sol Snatcher that drops both Jayne and Zaria. The referee calls for the bell. No official word, but I assume a no-contest. The mach this thrown out. Really good match until the interference by Sol Ruca. The finish seems to set up a triple threat, which must be one of the most over-booked gimmick matches in modern wrestling.

Match result: NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and Zaria wrestled to a no-contest after interference by Sol Ruca.

— Ricky Saints is heading to the ring for his concert performance.

— Robert Stone is interviewed in his office. Glitch in the feed on my local CW affiliate, so I missed much of this interview.

Ricky Saints’ Absolute Experience

Spoofing the concert segments made famous by The Rock from years past, Saints gets in the ring and sits down. He pick up a guitar and hypes up the concert to come. He proceeds to do a terrible rendition of Joe Hendry’s theme song, with new lyrics from Saints. This was deliberately terrible. It was also hard to watch. It was dying a death.

Saints orders a roadie to get him a different chair. That failed to save the segment. Saints next complains about the microphone, and he orders a roadie to fix the mic. The segment drags on with Saints complaining about his guitar. He wants another guitar as well. Saints is handed a different guitar by a roadie, but the roadie will not unhand the guitar. Surprise, it’s Joe Hendry! He saves the segment with a guitar shot on Saints. The guitar shatters on the back of Saints.

Vanity Project runs in to save Ricky Saints from Hendry’s finishing move. Myles Borne runs down to help Hendry clean house and clear the ring of heels.

The NXT Champion and the North American Champion stand tall and celebrate in the ring in the final scene on the go-home episode ahead of Vengeance Day.

WWE NXT live results: Four championship matches

Title matches are the theme of WWE NXT tonight with four championships set to be defended.

Sol Ruca has the chance to become NXT Women’s Champion for the first time ever when she faces off against Jacy Jayne, who Ruca eliminated from the Royal Rumble last month. The ongoing tension between Ruca and Zaria could end up playing a role in tonight’s match with WWE continuing to tease a split between the two friends.

One week after setting the record for most successful defenses of the North American Championship, Ethan Page puts his title on the line again tonight against Myles Borne. Page is now officially tied with Oba Femi for the longest reign in the title’s history.

The NXT Tag Team titles will be defended as well, with DarkState facing off against Vanity Project.

A triple threat match for the men’s WWE Speed Championship will see Eli Knight and Elio LeFleur challenge Jasper Troy.

Rivals Blake Monroe and Thea Hail will meet as they face off in a women’s Speed tournament match. Plus, Sean Legacy takes on Keanu Carver.

The tag title bout goes through a commercial break. Darkstate tosses Baylor & Smokes around like ragdolls before the show cuts to picture-in-picture. Drake interferes during the break, which allows Vanity Project to gain an advantage by the time the show returns from the commercials.

Heat on Shugars as Vanity Project work him over. This builds to a hot tag, and Griffin cleans house. Griffin is fired up like Robert Gibson getting the hot tag from Ricky Morton. Wacky to see since Darkstate have been heels during their run. Griffin goes on to chokeslam both members of Vanity Project, leading to a near fall.

Darkstate go for a Doomsday Device, and Shugars delivers a missile dropkick. Shugars goes for a cover, but Drake interferes by putting Baylor’s foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Cutler James and Dion Lennox then confront Drake, and referees pour out to separate them at ringside. Griffin leaves the ring to join the melee with a flying crossbody.

With the melee going on the side of the entrance ramp, Shugars is outside the ring on the opposite side. Tony D’Angelo suddenly runs in to slam Shugars on the apron. Tony D then rolls Baylor into the ring so he can cover Shugars for a three count. And new…

Match result: Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes defeated NXT Tag Team Champions Saquon Shugars & Osiris Griffin to win the titles when Baylor pinned Shugars after interference by Tony D’Angelo.

— Sarah Schreiber interviews Myles Borne about him challenging tonight for the NXT North American Championship. Borne cuts a good promo about how he can beat Ethan Page for the title.

Keanu Carver vs. Sean Legacy

Carver looked good here despite being green in the ring. Legacy was a great opponent for Carver, who was able to look very strong with Legacy bumping for him. Carver is getting a monster push, so he pummeled Legacy during much of the match. Legacy started strong until Carver cut him off and began to pummel him. Carver also used moves like slams and backbreakers, while he also heaved Legacy across the ring.

Carver went to spear Legacy through the barricade, which is a callback to a spot they did weeks ago to set up this bout. Legacy countered with a superkick that put Carver on rubber legs. Springboard 450 splash by Legacy for a near fall. Springboard into a missile dropkick, and Legacy attempts sliced bread. Carver cuts off Legacy, and Carver hit him with a Monty Brown Pounce. Carver then lifts Legacy with a vertical suplex, and Carver drives Legacy into the mat with a powerslam. Carver covers Legacy for a pinfall.

Match result: Keanu Carver defeated Sean Legacy via pinfall.

— WWE Women’s Evolve Champion Kendal Grey is giving Wren Sinclair a pep talk ahead of her match tonight. Kelani Jordan enters to gloat about herself before bad mouthing Lola Vice. Chaos erupts as Vice rushes in trying to kick Jordan. Security and referees try to separate everyone.

Jasper Troy vs. Eli Knight vs. Elio LeFleur in a triple threat match for the WWE Speed Championship

They had a great fast-paced match. Troy looked strong and powerful throughout the seven-minute time limit, despite him dropping the fall. Just before they go home, LeFleur what looked like an awkward tilt-a-whirl trying to counter a black hole slam. LeFleur does not panic, as he simply takes takes Troy down with a leg lariat. Knight then moonsaults off the top rope on Troy, but Knight sells the impact. That allows LeFleur to rush in and covers Troy for a three count in the closing minute of the time limit. And new…

Match result: Elio LeFleur defeated WWE Speed Champion Jasper Troy and Eli Knight in a triple threat match to win the title when LeFleur pinned Troy.

— NXT North American Champion Ethan Page is the trainer’s room getting his ankle taped, which plays on the cliffhanger from last week that set up tonight’s main event. Ricky Saints is talking with Page in the trainer’s room when in walks the new NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes. They brag on them winning the title before Saints vows to add to that when he wins the singles title at Vengeance Day. Saints also says they will ensure Page retain his title tonight.

— NXT Champion Joe Hendry is the focus of “NXT Chronicle”, which was a great personality profile hyping up Hendry.

— Damian Priest is featured in a video package that highlights his run in NXT, and he talks about what he learned in developmental.

— Lola Vice storms into Robert Stone’s office, and Vice demands Stone book her and Kelani Jordan in an Underground match. That was easy enough, as Stone books the match for Vengeance Day.

Turns out this was more an angle than a match. After the ring introductions, the referee holds up the title belt to display what is at stake. Suddenly, Zaria spears Sol Ruca. Zaria then delivers a F5, and Ruca is out on her feet. The bell rings to start the match. Ruca gets to her feet, only for her to walk into a Rolling Encore from Jayne. She covers Ruca for a pinfall in seconds. And still…

Match result: NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defeated Sol Ruca via pinfall to retain her title.

In a post-match attack, Zaria gives Ruca another F5. This time it was on the announce desk. Zaria then taunts Ruca as the show cuts to a commercial break.

— Back from commercial and Tatum Paxley is cutting a promo alongside the studio audience. She puts over the fans for having her back, as they did not want her to change. They accepted Paxley for being herself, and she truly felt love from them.

Paxley then talks about regaining the NXT Women’s North American Championship from Izzi Dame. She wants Dame to come out, and Dame does enter the sound stage to confront Paxley. Dame goes into the crowd to confront Paxley, and the house lights in the sound stage go dark so we are left to wonder. Instead, we get the entrance of Blake Monroe.

Blake Monroe vs. Thea Hail in a Speed tournament match

After about a minute into the match, Jaida Parker runs down to ringside where she hits Monroe with a hip attack. Neckbreaker by Hail in the ring, and she covers Monroe for a three count. In winning, Hail advances in the tournament to meet the winner of Wren Sinclair vs. Nikkita Lyons to decide the next contender for the WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley.

Match result: Thea Hail defeated Blake Monroe via pinfall to advance in the tournament.

— “NXT Chronicle” continues with more about NXT Champion Joe Hendry. He talks about his theme music becoming a hit song. That was the final puzzle piece to him becoming a superstar.

Kale Dixon (with Andre Chase) vs. Uriah Connors (with Lexis King, Arianna Grace & Stacks)

Two former teammates meet in this bout, albeit in somewhat of a filler position. The match begins soon as the show returns from a commercial break with both already in the ring. They had a good match with lots of flying and high spots.

For the finish, Connors counters a moonsault with knee up. Dixon follows up by landing a running knee strike to set up the pin.

Match result: Uriah Connors defeated Kale Dixon via pinfall.

— Zaria confronts the Fatal Influence trio in a locker room skit, and Zaria says Jacy Jayne owes her a favor. Zaria wants a title shot for the NXT women’s title next week, or Zaria warns she will do to Jayne what she did to Sol Ruca.

— In another locker room skit, Ricky Saints invited Vanity Project to his concert next week. This plays on Joe Hendry’s gimmick of doing live musical performances, with Saints promising an “Absolute” concert experience of his own.

Enter Shiloh Hill alongside Hank & Tank. They have what they claim is a steering wheel, as they apparently took apart Jackson Drake’s car. With that, a brawl erupts backstage. Referees pour in as the camera shakes.

— Myles Borne is the focus of a personality profile ahead of him challenging for a tile in the main event, which is up next on tonight’s card.

— Sarah Schreiber interviews GM Robert Stone. He confirms Jacy Jayne defends her NXT Women’s Championship against Zaria next Tuesday on NXT. Also next week is Shiloh Hill teaming with Hank & Tank in a six-man tag team match with Vanity Project. Stone also confirms Ricky Saints will have an “Absolute” concert next week.

NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame enters the office to say she would agree to meeting with Tatum Paxley. Stone is skeptical but seemingly agrees to the segment.

Myles Borne vs. Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship

The match begins with a tale as old as time in pro wrestling psychology. Borne even had white flames on his trunks in his role as the white hot babyface. That babyface challenger shines at the outset until the veteran champ cuts him off and turns the tables — almost literally with the table. Page sends Borne crashing into the announce desk. Page then executes a Razor’s Edge that plants Borne hard on top of the desk. The match then goes through a commercial break.

Comeback by Borne, and he fires up on Page. Fisherman’s buster by Borne for a near fall. Page cuts Borne off again, and they trade near falls. Razor’s Edge in the middle of the ring, but Borne kicks out. Slug fest as they duke it out. They do a suplerplex that led to Page getting a near fall.

In the closing minutes they trade big moves, with Page hitting a codebreaker, and Borne answers with a zig-zag a moment later. Vanity Project runs down to ringside. New tag champs Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes distract the referee while Jackson Drake hits Borne with Drake’s Evolve title belt. Page goes for a cover, but Borne gets a shoulder up. Hank & Tank, along with Shiloh Hill, run down to brawl with the Vanity Project at ringside. Meanwhile, Ricky Saints runs in and goes to climb the turnbuckles. Joe Hendry with a save as he runs in to shove Saints off the turnbuckles. Hendry and Saints brawl at ringside.

For the finish, Page goes for a Razor’s Edge. Borne escapes his clutches, and Borne sends Page into an exposed turnbuckle (which has the padding removed earlier in the bout). Page blocks it at first and goes for Twisted Grin (Twist of Fate), but Borne counters to send Page smashing into the exposed turnbuckle. Borne then executes a zig-zag (called “Borne Again”), and Borne hooks a leg while covering Page for the deciding pinfall. This was a great television main event, and they pulled the trigger and strapped a rocket to Borne. No wonder we wore flames on his trunks. He’s on fire. AND NEW…

Match result: Myles Borne defeated NXT North American Champion Ethan Page via pinfall to win the title.

WWE NXT live results: Ladder match for the vacant NXT Championship

A new NXT Champion will be crowned on tonight’s WWE NXT from Orlando, Florida, as the post Ava era begins.

After Oba Femi relinquished the title on the way to the main roster, Ricky Saints, Shiloh Hill, Sean Legacy, Jackson Drake, Dion Lennox, Keanu Carver and Joe Hendry will compete in a seven-way ladder match to determine the new champion.

In a three-way, NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame will defend against both Thea Hail and Lola Vice who made her women’s Royal Rumble debut this past Saturday.

The TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles will be on the line as The Elegance Brand (M by Elegance & Heather by Elegance) will defend against ZaRuca (Sol Ruca & Zaria). This comes days after Ruca’s impressive performance in the women’s Royal Rumble.

Tony D’Angelo will also make an appearance to finally address why he’s back in NXT and what’s next for him.

NXT is on the air in front of a live studio audience on a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando.

The show begins with Shawn Michaels making Robert Stone the new interim general manager of NXT. Stone enters the office formerly belonging to Ava, as HBK wanted to see him. HBK remarked how Stone always does whatever is asked of him, and Stone replied he did it because he loves NXT.

Michaels then informs Stone he is the interim GM. Michaels says he knows this place can be crazy, but he likes it like crazy. With that, HBK wished Stone luck before leaving the office set.

No mention of Ava.

After the skit, a video package hypes the men’s championship ladder match later on. Opening the show from the sound stage is a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. On commentary, Vic Joseph noted is the first time this particular version of the North American title is ever being defended in a triple threat.

Izzi Dame (with The Culling) vs. Thea Hail vs. Lola Vice in a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

The title bout goes through a commercial break. Thea Hail and Lola Vice shine before the show cuts to commercials, with Hail first jumping off the ring steps with a flying head scissors on Shawn Spears at ringside. Hail ducks a kick from Dame, and Vice leaps off the ring apron with a meteora on Vice. Hail circles back to drop Vice with a tope suicida. The title belt is on a pedestal at ringside, and Hail runs over to bite the title belt as the show heads into the break.

The show returns from the break with combo where Dame has Vice on her shoulders as Hail leaps off the ropes with a neckbreaker on Vice as Dame falls back like a Samoan drop. Vice then fires up with a series of kicks and hip attacks. More tandem spots, leading to several near falls.

Hail with another rally as she shakes the ropes like Ultimate Warrior before springboarding off the middle rope into the waiting arms of Vice, who catches Hail in sleeper hold. Dame breaks up the hold and they fight on. Hail went for a Kimura lock a moment later, but Vice escapes and is able to again apply a sleeper. Dame breaks up the sleeper, only to take a DDT from Hail.

Kelani Jordan suddenly ran down to ringside and attacked Vice. Jordan pulls a ladder partially out from underneath the ring, and Jordan uses the ladder to smash Vice’s right hand. Vice sells big as referees pour out to eject Jordan from ringside.

Meanwhile in the ring, Hail as Dame locked in a Kimura. Dame escapes the submission hold, and Dame with a gutwrench Liger bomb on Hail. Dame then pins Hail for a three count. Good opener in a match that appeared very choreographed at times. And still…

Match result: NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame defeated Thea Hail and Lola Vice in a triple threat match to retain her title.

— In a locker room skit, Zaria was upset at Sol Ruca for not telling her about being in the Royal Rumble. Ruca wants to tell Zaria everything, but Ruca was told not to say anything. Zaria is understandable, and she switched focus to their upcoming title bout.

— As the show heads into a commercial break, Tony D’Angelo is headed to the ring for a monologue.

— Back from commercial for a skit that sets up a tag team match for later on. Chase U’s Uriah Connors & Kale Dixon are confronted by Lexis King & Stacks, along with Arianna Grace, and a match is made for tonight.

Tony D’Angelo explains his actions

Tony D’Angelo is in the ring to “clear the ring” after seven months of him talking to the audience. The studio audience starts chanting for him before D’Angelo briefly runs down his history in NXT. He had family, friend and people that had his back — but that was taken from him.

D’Angelo goes on to say he needed to regroup after Darkstate ruined his life. He had to set in a dark room but himself to remember who he was, which is a National Champion and Division I All-American. He also remembered he was good at bouncing people off the mat.

D’Angelo talks about the mystic after his recent return, where no one knows what he is doing. Tony calls this a selfish time in a selfish business, and that aligns exactly with his plans. He came back for two reasons. One reason is he wanted Darkstate to know he was coming for them. This is about punishment, not revenge. The second reason we will see when he is done with Darkstate.

— “NXT Focus” is the sponsored personality profile where Shiloh Hill takes about the championship ladder match that headlines tonight’s card.

— WWE Speed Champion Jasper Troy cuts a promo on his prospective challengers ahead of the upcoming tournament to crown a top contender. No matter who wins, Troy vows to destroy them in Atlanta.

Elio LeFleur vs. Charlie Dempsey in a first round match in the Speed tournament

This was great for a three-minute match. The closing minute was especially good with them trading counters and near falls. LeFleur delivers a tilt-a-whirl Rocker Dropper, and he hooks a leg to cover Dempsey for a three count with seconds remaining in the time limit.

Match result: Elio LeFleur defeated Charlie Dempsey via pinfall to advance in the Speed tournament.

— Kelly Kincaid interviews Joe Hendry, and he talks about going into the ladder match with an injury. His smile has been hiding frustration and disappointment because the last seven months have been without a championship. Hendry goes to vow he becomes the new NXT Champion.

— NXT’s presence in the Royal Rumble was the focus of a video package.

The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance with Ash by Elegance & The Personal Concierge) vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship

TNA authority figure Daria Rae (who is formerly Sonya Deville in WWE) returns to NXT as she watches the title bout near ringside.

The story of the match was dissension between Zaria and Ruca. Zaria refuses to tag out, and they trade blind tags, while also arguing and shoving each other. Their future is in question, especially after the finish.

The match goes through a commercial break. Ash by Elegance jumps on the apron to cause a distraction, which allows The Elegance Brand to gain the upper hand as the show cuts to a commercial break. When the show returns from the break, heat on Zaria as she is worked over and separated from her corner. Zaria comes back and refuses to tag out.

For some reason, Sean Legacy is seen getting ready in the locker room ahead of the main event ladder match in a split-screen in the middle of the match. Why?

Double down in the ring and Zaria uses the ropes to pull herself to her feet, which allows Ruca to make a blind tag. Ruca then runs wild and gets a few near falls. Meanwhile, the studio audience is doing the wave.

Heather by Elegance with a moonsault press, and M by Elegance goes for her own moonsault. No water in the pool, though. Ruca rolled out of the way, and Ruca struggles to her feet. Zaria makes a bling tag, leading to her and Ruca getting into a shoving match.

The challengers argue as they both deliver stereo spears on the champs. Ruca signals for their finisher, so Zaria hoists M by Elegance on her shoulders. Ruca went to follow with a Sol Snatcher, but M escapes their clutches. Ruca then inadvertently catches her own partner, Zaria, with a Sol Snatcher. Ash by Elegance pulls Ruca out of the ring and sends her crashing into the ring steps.

Bow and arrow hold on Zaria by M as Heather leaps off the top rope with a double foot stomp. Heather then covers Zaria for the deciding pinfall.

Match result: Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance defeated Sol Ruca & Zaria via pinfall when Heather covered Zaria to retain their titles.

— NXT North American Champion Ethan Page cuts a promo where he gives The Vanity Project a pep talk of sorts.

— In a skit from social media, Jaida Parker is attacked by Blake Monroe at a merchandise booth outside the building.

Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors with Andre Chase) vs. Lexis King & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo (with Arianna Grace)

Dixon & Connors got their time to shine, but this match was more about getting King & Stacks over as a team. Dixon & Connors looked great in the ring, but they drop the match to the new heel team. Dixon fires up in the closing moments. He goes for a moonsault off the top rope, but Stacks gets his feet up to block it. King tags in and delivers a V-trigger, and King follows with The Coronation. King pins Dixon to win the match.

Connors backs away and apparently quite Chase U in an angle after the match. He leaves Chase U and exits just behind the heels.

Match result: Lexis King & Stacks defeated Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors via pinfall when King pinned Dixon.

— The trio of Fatal Influence are in the ring for a promo where NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne talks about her time in the Royal Rumble. Jayne cuts a promo on Sol Ruca, who eliminated Jayne in the Rumble match by tossing her out. Jayne is cutting her promo on Ruca when she is interrupted by Zaria.

Zaria gets in the ring to confront Jayne and Fatal Influence. Zaria says Ruca had plenty of shots at the title, and this was Zaria’s turn. They are all soon interrupted by the team of Wren Sinclair & WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey. Everyone is bickering in the ring when Sol Ruca joins the ongoing argument.

Ruca makes a crack at Zaria about not being friends anymore, and they briefly bicker. Eventually, out comes Robert Stone for his first announcement and ruling as GM. In his first act at interim GM, he books a tag match for next week with Sinclair & Grey against Ruca & Zaria. Whomever scores the winning fall also earns a title match against Jacy Jayne in Atlanta.

— Kelly Kincaid interviews Kelani Jordan, who boasts about breaking Lola Vice’s hand in an injury angle from earlier tonight.

— Ricky Saints gets a full entrance before a commercial break. Other participants for the ladder match get their entrances during a split-screen as commercials run.

— After the commercial break is a skit where Lexis King, Stacks and Grace approach Charlie Dempsey to ask if he thought about their recent offer to join the new faction.

— Joe Hendry also gets a full entrance after the break.

Ricky Saints vs. Shiloh Hill vs. Sean Legacy vs. Jackson Drake vs. Dion Lennox vs. Keanu Carver vs. Joe Hendry in a ladder match for the vacant NXT Championship

Keanu Carver starts off strong, and ladders soon come into play with several taking bumps on the ladder from the opening moments onward.Many ladders of various sizes are set up around ring for easy access.

Joe Hendry uses the ladder as a battering ram before he spins around with it to do his pose. He tries to climb towards the title belt hanging above the ring, only for Hendry to get tripped up by Jackson Drake. Time for Drake’s turn to take a bump off the ladder as Hendry tips it over. Hendry then powerbombs Drake over the ropes into the arms of the other participants on the floor. Hendry follows up by hurdling the top rope for a dive outside the ring. The show cuts to a commercial break with a slow motion replay of Hendry’s hurdle over the ropes.

Carver rips a gimmicked ladders apart in a feat of strength in the middle of the match. The ripped apart ladder would play into another stunt moments later. Sean Legacy and Dion Lennox get their chances to shine in spots after the show returns from the break. They are fighting on a ladder when Shiloh Hill uses the two sections of the gimmicked ladder as a stilts. Hill would go on to take a Doomsday Device at the hands of Carver and Lennox.

Lennox is climbing the ladder when Saints tries to stop him. Saints takes a spinebuster on a ladder. Hendry thwarts Lennox and give him a chokeslam on a ladder. Hendry climbs and Drake again stops him. Legacy takes a wicked swanton from Drake, and Drake climbs he ladder. Saints goes to stop him, only for Carver to enter the ring and mow down Saints.

Carver stumbles over the ropes in a spot. Drake then does a tornillo splash off the top turnbuckle to the floor, just before the show cuts to its final commercial break. They continue running through high spots during a split-screen.

After the show returns to full screen, Carver is using a ladder to smash everyone. Hill leaps off the ring steps for senton that sandwiches Carver in the ladder. In a bizarre spot, Hill celebrates by taking out this false teeth and throwing them on the ground, which apparently similar to a Southern babyface pulling down the straps on is singlet.

Hill follows up with a running knee strike on Carver, and Hill smashes him with the ladder. Everyone works together to pile ladders on top of Carver. They bury Carver underneath ladders. Hill does the Terry Funk spo of airplane spinning a ladder in a crazed manner while other wrestlers bump into the ladder. Hill eats a shining wizard from Drake, and Drake builds a ladder bridge. That backfires on him as Legacy springboards into a 450 splash that drives Drake into a ladder.

Legacy and Lennox are fighting on one ladder when Hill sets up a second ladder to climb. Hill and Drake climb the second ladder. Hill and Drake takes bumps off the ladder, while Lennox and Legacy remain on the other ladder. Legacy hangs from the ladder like its Ultimate-X before taking a bump off the ladder. Hendry breaks up Lennox’s climb with Lennox fingertips away from the title belt.

Hendry and Lennox end up fighting outside the ring, where Carver awakens from his slumber under the pile of ladders. Carver mows down wrestlers with shots from the ladder and spears on the floor. Carver sends Drake over the barricade into the arms of plants in the front row. In another stunt, Legacy is shoulder tackled through a gimmicked section of wall by a charging Carver.

Ricky Saints rushes to climb a ladder in the ring as Carver rushes back inside the squared circle. Two ladders are still side-by-side from earlier in the match. Now, Carver and Saints climb opposing ladders. They fight atop the ladders.

Saints kicks over the other ladder, and Carver takes a big bump on a ladder bridged between the ring apron and the broadcast booth. Carver crushes the ladder as Saints smirks atop the ladder in the ring. Saints senses victory, only for him to be surprised by Hendry shooting up the other side of the ladder.

Saints and Hendry are fighting over the title belt as they unhook from the hanger. Tug-of-war with the belt as he hangs above ring. They each tease falling off the ladder until Hendry lightly hits Saints with the belt, and Saints does a Nestea Plunge off the standing ladder to a ladder bridge. Nasty bump for Saints as his head snaps on the top rope as he takes a hard bump on the ladder.

WWE NXT live results: Ethan Page vs. Elio LeFleur

WWE NXT on January 20 is set for the Performance Center in Orlando.

Following last week’s announcement from General Manager Ava that the NXT Championship, recently vacated by Oba Femi, will be up for grabs in a six-way ladder match on February 3, two qualifying matches are scheduled for Tuesday’s show: Josh Briggs vs. Shiloh Hill and Eli Knight vs. Sean Legacy.

The NXT North American Championship will also be on the line when Ethan Page defends against Elio LeFleur, who will be making his NXT in-ring debut.

In tag team action, The Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes will wrestle Chase U’s Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors.

Also scheduled for Tuesday, a three-way match will determine the top contenders to the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships held by The Elegance Brand. Sol Ruca & Zaria will face Fatal Influence and Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair.

NXT is on the air in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. The show starts with a recap of last week, and a preview of this week’s card.

NXT General Manager Ava is in her office with her security team. She wants them on “high alert” as they are on the lookout for Tony D’Angelo, following the cliffhanger from last Tuesday. Meanwhile inside the sound stage, the NXT Championship belt hangs over the ring, awaiting the ladder match in a few weeks.

Opening the show tonight is a title match. One-half of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions — and the current NXT North American Champion — Ethan Page defends his singles title against the debuting masked wrestler named Elio LeFleur (formerly Aigle Blanc).

Ethan Page vs. Elio LeFleur for the NXT North American Championship

LeFleur gets to shine with his high-flying and fast-paced offense. He looked great from the start. On the floor, LeFleur leaps off the ring steps to catch Page with a flying head scissors. Page cut him off and gave LeFleur a backbreaker on the top turnbuckle. LeFleur was on the floor selling as the show cuts to a commercial break.

During a split-screen as commercials rolled, Page worked over LeFleur. Targeting the back, Page then goes for a piledriver — only for LeFleur to counter with a back drop. LeFleur begins a comeback that led into a two count on Page. They trade near falls after Page boots LeFleur in the face after LeFleur rolled through on an attempted 450.

They square off and LeFleur is fired up. LeFleur goes for another springboard, and Page cuts him off with a dropkick. Nevertheless, LeFleur recovers and counters Page into a DDT. Quebrada to the floor by LeFleur, and a springboard kick for another near fall.

Before they go home, LeFleur goes coast-to-coast on a missile dropkick for the closest near fall of the bout. Page gets his knees up on an attempted Phoenix Splash. Having targeted the back earlier in the match, Page was sure he could deliver a Razor’s Edge. LeFleur counters with a hurricanrana, and Page eats a running kick. LeFleur goes for another running kick, but Page blocks it with a powerbomb. Page then covers LeFleur and hooks the tights for an illegal advantage. Great opener despite the cheap finish. And still…

Match result: NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defeated Elio LeFleur via a pinfall (while holding trunks) to retain his title.

On Page’s way out he encounters Ricky Saints, who is entering the sound stage to join the commentary team. Saints joins Vic Joseph and Booker T at the announce desk as the show goes into a commercial break.

— Back from the break, the television debut of Keanu Carver laying waste the NXT roster in an angle from last Tuesday. Vic Joseph tries to ask Booker T about Carver and him getting into an argument in an angle from LFG between Booker and Carver. Booker is silent at the announce desk, and he offers no comment.

Shiloh Hill vs. Josh Briggs in a NXT Championship ladder match qualifier

The match goes through a commercial break in what developed into a hoss fight. A long-haired guy in leather jeans against a biker in leather pants, in what is a battle old as time. They were laying in the leather too, with lariats, strikes and kicks.

The tide really shifts when there is no water in the pool as Briggs crashes and burns on a moonsault press. Hill follows up with a side slam/neckbreaker combo, which is apparently his finisher. Hill then hooks a leg and covers Briggs for a three count.

Match result: Shiloh Hill defeated Josh Briggs via pinfall to qualify for the championship ladder match.

— In a post-match ambush, Tony D’Angelo attacks both Briggs and Hill after the match. D’Angelo lays out both, scooping any heat the two just acquired in their hard-hitting match. D’Angelo then strolls away after glaring at Ricky Saints, who looked like he saw a ghost.

— Zaria & Sol Ruca discuss their angle from TNA Genesis, and Zaria says her shoulder is sore — so of that costs them in their tag match tonight. Then Zaria will not be to blame.

— The Vanity Project trio enter the sound stage ahead of the tag bout that is up next after a commercial break.

Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors with Andre Chase) vs. Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes with Jackson Drake)

This was a fun, action-filled tag match. Lots of double team spots and high spots galore. Swipe Right win after a double stomp/slop drop finisher. Chase U got to shine, and Dixon especially shines with a Fosbury Flop. However, he ultimately takes the double team finisher, and Smokes covers Dixon for a pinfall.

Match result: Brad Barlor & Ricky Smokes defeated Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors when Smokes pinned Dixon.

— In a backstage skit, Lola Vice is in Ava’s office lobbying for a title match. In walks Thea Hail, who says she has learned her lesson, and now Hail wants a title shot. Vice disagrees, before Ava informs both they are in triple threat title match against NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame on February 3.

— Back from a commercial break and Vic Joseph again brings up Keanu Carver. That led to a sit-down where Blake Howard interviews Carver, who starts off by saying the only reason he is here is because they made him. Carver refuses to answer any “dumbass questions” from Howard. Upon Howard bringing up the disciplinary action from the past, Carver storms off set.

— Jaida Parker enters the sound stage for an in-ring promo. She is over greatly with the studio audience. Parker says she has been away for a while, but she has watched closely. She puts over Kendal Grey, with Parker saying she deserves her flowers. Blake Monroe on the other hand, does not deserve her flowers.

Parker goes on to say she did not rush back with excuses, instead letting her work speak for itself. Parker then talks about negative opinions on her. Maybe she should smile more and talk less, but to each their own. Some days she feels like she cannot catch a break, but she still catches attention. When she walks in a room, the room gets tighter and the air harder to breath.

Blake Monroe interrupts Parker after the arena lights go dark. A spotlight shows Monroe on a platform perched overlooking the ring. Monroe says the grand entrance is a way to remind Parker in case she needs a reminder. Monroe warns Parker she missed up by interrupting Monroe last week. Monroe claims Parker does not get to return and stand in the way of Monroe.

Parker says Monroe talks so much because if Monroe quit talking, she might have something to prove. At the end of the day, Monroe has to deal with Ms. Parker. Mic drop.

Sean Legacy vs. Eli Knight in a NXT Championship ladder match qualifier

Ricky Saints is back for guest commentary during the match, which was a high-flying spectacle from the start. Knight with an Asai moonsault as the show cuts to a commercial break. Slugfest as the show returns from the break, and they trade strikes and kicks. Knight turned inside out on a lariat from Legacy, and they begin trading near falls with reversals and counters from each.

Knight eats a superkick, and Legacy with a running Spanish Fly. Springboard 450 splash by Legacy, but Knight kicks out at two and half. Knight counters Legacy with an exploder in a corner. In a really cool spot, Knight lands on his feet doing a moonsault when Legacy tried to roll away. Upon landing, Knight then leapt backwards into a standing moonsault press for a two count.

They keep trading near falls and reversals. Sliced bread by Knight to set up an attempted moonsault. Legacy gets his feet up and boots Knight in the face. Legacy capitalizes with a Torture rack into a twisting neckbreaker for a wicked finisher, and Legacy covers Knight for a pinfall.

Match result: Sean Legacy defeated Eli Knight via pinfall to qualify for the championship ladder match.

Great bout, but whatever they did to get over was seemingly all for not after Tony D’Angelo scooped more heat. Much like earlier tonight in the other qualifier, D’Angelo attacked both Legacy and Knight. D’Angelo ambushes them and leaves them laid out. Taking things a step further than before, D’Angelo gives Legacy a chokeslam on the announce desk — as Ricky Saints watches in horror from behind the desk.

Ava eventually enters the scene flanked by armed security, and D’Angelo is surrounded by them. D’Angelo calmly turns around and places his hands behind his back without a word spoken. D’Angelo is then handcuffed and escorted away. Later after a commercial break, D’Angelo is taken on a perp walk where he is led by Ava, who remarks he left her no choice. D’Angelo is stone-faced and stays silent. Blake Howard as the roving reporter tries to get a comment from D’Angelo as he is placed in the back of a SUV. No comment, and D’Angelo is driven away apparently under arrest.

— The Culling is featured in a video package sponsored by an insurance company.

— OTM shoves Blake Howard, and they cut a promo on Darkstate. Last week was a warning, and now OTM is looking for the tag title. OTM challenges Darkstate to a tag title match next Tuesday. That match is made official for next week by the end of this show.

— Joe Hendry in a cameo appearance is the highlight of a backstage skit with The Vanity Project. The heel trios is talking backstage with two unidentified blonde women. Robert Stone walks up to inform Jackson Drake he is booked in a qualifying match next week against Joe Hendry. Say his name and he appears, and Hendry cuts a promo.

— Darkstate cut a promo on Myles Borne in a locker room skit.

Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid with Jacy Jayne) vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria vs. Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair in a triple threat match to determine number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship

Action-packed tag bout with three teams involved, and three legal wrestlers in the ring at once. They did a parade of dives where Grey & Sinclair shine ahead of a commercial break. After the show returns from the break, the chaos is settled in the ring. Zaria has Grey in a hanging choke, and Henley assists for a Doomsday Device.

They did a flash of false finishes and high spots, which popped the studio audience every time. Grey & Sinclair shined a lot in the final moments. As they go home in the match, the focus shifts to an angle between Ruca and her partner — Zaria — who makes a blind tag much to the chagrin of Ruca. Zaria delivers a double spear, as Ruca claps for her. Zaria then sends Ruca for an attempted assist, but Ruca sails out of the ring and takes a kick from Henley on the floor.

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne interferes at ringside with a roaring elbow to Grey. Sinclair tries to make a save with a missile dropkick on Jayne, only for Henley to send Sinclair crashing into the barricade. Back in the ring, Zaria faces off against Henley & Reid. Blockbuster by Henley on Zaria for a near fall, where Ruca breaks the count by pulling Henley out of the ring. Ruca leaps into action by hitting a double Sol Snatcher on Reid & Henley. Ruca then sends Henley into the clutches of Zaria, who executes a F5. Zaria then hooks a leg and covers Henley for a three count.

Match result: Sol Ruca & Zaria becomes number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship after defeating Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid and Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair in a triple threat match.
