The Rascalz officially sign contracts with AEW, debut teased

The Rascalz are officially #AllElite and will be debuting in AEW soon.

The group’s debut was teased Wednesday on AEW Dynamite shortly after a Fightful Select report revealed that AEW had signed all four men — Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, Dezmond Xavier and Myron Reed — to contracts.

The report also stated that The Rascalz were backstage during Dynamite with their signing coming a week after former TNA wrestler Jake Something recently made his AEW return and signed a contract.

Fightful reported that all four men are under multi-year deals after their various TNA contracts expired. While TNA attempted to retain The Rascalz, AEW reportedly came in with a better offer.

Reed’s planned bout with Leon Slater on TNA’s AMC debut was pulled earlier this week. While Reed was said to be happy to work the committed date, the match was canceled due to WWE possibly requiring Slater for their European tour or due to the contract situation.

While Reed and Xavier were never under TNA contracts, Miguel and Wentz’s deals expired at the end of 2025. The report also claimed that there was at least one member of the group who was determined to leave TNA.

AEW officially teases The Rascalz arrival

Midway through Wednesday’s Dynamite, AEW teased The Rascalz’s arrival. Although the promotion did not mention a specific date, they instead went with “coming soon to AEW” while sharing a graphic.

Contract expiration may have caused TNA on AMC premiere lineup change

The contractual status of The Rascalz may have affected an X-Division title match set to take place at this Thursday’s TNA Impact on AMC premiere.

First noted by PWInsider on Tuesday, TNA is no longer advertising the previously announced X-Division title match between Leon Slater and Myron Reed of the group. While Slater is still being promoted in media releases, Reed is not.

One reason for that, according to the outlet, is that Reed, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel and Dezmond Xavier are all free agents following their respective contract expirations at the end of 2025. They specifically noted that TNA did not pick up options for Wentz and Miguel, and the belief is all four men are free agents.

There is also some independent speculation that WWE’s interest in having Slater be part of their European tour may be a contributing factor, a report that also came from PWInsider. However, it’s unknown if WWE would potentially pull Slater from the high profile premiere to do that.

As early as mid-November, it was reported that the contractual future for all four Rascalz were up in the air and that Xavier, the former Wes Lee in WWE NXT, had not signed a new deal when he made his return after his WWE run came to an end.

Slater’s X-Division title defense against Moose and Cedric Alexander for this Saturday’s Genesis pay-per-view is still on the docket.

BVV: TNA Victory Road with Leon Slater vs. Myron Reed

The best thing on the promotion’s latest app special was the main event, which set up what might be an even better match at Bound For Glory. The Youngest in Charge Leon Slater defended the X Division title against the Young GOAT Myron Reed, with the winner going on to face the Young OG, Je’Von Evans from NXT. Oh, and Eric Young was also on the show, in what felt like Joe Hendry’s farewell to the promotion.

Elsewhere, the System faced Order 4 in Agent Zero’s in-ring debut with the company; a battle royal leads to a singles match to crown a new Knockouts champion with a surprising name coming out on top; Mike Santana and Ridge Holland have a tremendous Mean Guy Match; Frankie Kazarian battled Steve Maclin for the International title and a lot more, including a few highlights from Impact the night before.

Killer Kelly and Myron Reed are expecting a child.

Kelly announced on Monday that she is pregnant. She says the couple originally tried to keep the news private but later decided to go public with it.

Will Ospreay vs. Josh Alexander set for next Impact Wrestling

The much-anticipated first time ever clash between Will Ospreay and Josh Alexander will headline next Thursday’s Impact Wrestling on AXS TV.

Alexander was unable to wrest the Impact World title from Alex Shelley at October’s Bound for Glory while Ospreay picked up a victory over “Speedball” Mike Bailey in what many have called a match of the year candidate.

The Impact Tag Team titles will be on the line as ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) defend against Kenny King & Sheldon Jean after a backstage confrontation Thursday led to the match being made.

Former champions The Rascalz welcomed a new member to the group Thursday in former MLW Middleweight Champion Myron Reed. Reed, Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel will take on Juventud Guerrera, Laredo Kid & Black Taurus in trios action.

Knockouts Champion Trinity will face Sonny Kiss in non-title action as the former AEW talent makes his Impact singles debut.

After their own backstage confrontation Thursday, World title no. 1 contender Moose will take on Heath.

In a match made out of last month’s Call Your Shot gauntlet match, Jordynne Grace will team with Bully Ray against Steve Maclin & KiLynn King. This was made during Thursday’s show in a heated backstage segment.

Myron Reed to make Impact debut at Bound for Glory fallout tapings

A former MLW champion is set to make their Impact Wrestling debut later this month.

Impact Wrestling has announced that Myron Reed will debut for the promotion at their Bound for Glory fallout tapings on Sunday, October 22. It will be The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz & Reed) vs. Black Taurus, Laredo Kid & Juventud Guerrera.

The tapings are being held in Cicero, Illinois and will include a Lucha Libre Celebration. Taurus, Laredo Kid & Guerrera teaming together is part of that celebration.

Reed became a free agent this January. He held the MLW Middleweight Championship three times while he was with that promotion.

Miguel and Wentz have both wanted Reed to be part of The Rascalz in Impact Wrestling. He’s a member of the group on the indies.

The October 22 tapings are taking place the day after Bound for Glory. Josh Alexander vs. Will Ospreay has also been made official for the tapings. The Impact World Championship will be on the line in that match if Alexander wins the title from Alex Shelley at Bound for Glory.

MLW notes: Myron Reed hits free agency, new Featherweight title match announced

Former three-time MLW Middleweight Champion Myron Reed is now a free agent.

Fightful first reported Monday night that Reed became a free agent on January 14th after MLW released him in a “mutual and amicable” split.

Reed took to Twitter Tuesday to confirm the news, thanking MLW and Court Bauer for the last four-plus years and that now, “the stars and sky is the direction.”

Debuting in July 2018, Reed wrestled in 40 matches during his run, first winning the Middleweight gold in November 2019. He and Lio Rush battled over the title in early-2021 during the closed taping era and after he lost it to Tajiri in late-2021, his final reign began in early-2022 before it ended with a loss to Shun Skywalker in mid-2022.

Reed’s last match has yet to air as he and Mr. Thomas of the Bomaye Fight Club will take on the Billington Bulldogs on an upcoming edition of Fusion.

Reed is part of The Rascalz along with Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel and Desmond Xavier. He works regular on the indies in both singles and tag team action.

As for Dorado, this will be his second time challenging for the title. He faced Reed for the belt in a fatal four-way match at Battle Riot IV on June 23.

“The new World Middleweight Champion Shun Skywalker has accepted his first challenge for the title as luchador Lince Dorado looks to pounce the mercurial masked Japanese phenom and win gold,” reads an MLW press release.

Triple threat Middleweight title match added to MLW Kings of Colosseum

The MLW Middleweight Championship will be up for grabs in a triple threat match at the promotion’s next set of television tapings.

At Kings of Colosseum, Myron Reed will put his MLW Middleweight title on the line against KC Navarro and Arez in a triple threat bout. The event is being held at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Friday, May 13.

Reed is a three-time MLW Middleweight Champion. His current title reign began when he defeated Tajiri, Bandido, and Matt Cross in a four-way match at MLW Blood & Thunder this January.

MLW wrote about the Reed vs. Navarro vs. Arez title match:

The fastest division in Major League Wrestling will be in overdrive as the reigning World Middleweight Champion defends his belt against one of Mexico’s emerging greats in Arez and the flashy and furious KC Navarro.

A member of Gangrel’s new brood, Strange Sangre, Arez has been fixated on a conquest offered to him by Cesar Duran. Since then, Arez has been obsessed with gold and getting his hands on Microman. How will Arez’s sinister Strange Sangre figure into this match? Could it tilt the championship into ‘King Strange’s’ hands?

The other challenger, KC Navarro, is coming off of a bitter feud with nZo. ‘The Blessed One’ looks to take the lessons he learned from nZo’s street school of hard knocks and apply that grit and tenacity to claiming his first championship in MLW.

Determined to cement his legacy as the greatest of all time in MLW, the ‘Young GOAT’ welcomed Duran’s triple threat title bout, with the 3-time champ signing the dotted line in under 24 hours.

But how will Myron Reed fend off two challengers in one night?

Ladder match to determine new MLW National Openweight Champion

A five-man ladder match will determine MLW’s next National Openweight Champion.

The MLW National Openweight Championship was vacated by Alex Hammerstone earlier this month after he defeated Jacob Fatu in a title vs. title match to win the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. Hammerstone said that, with him becoming World Heavyweight Champion, the National Openweight title is now someone else’s opportunity.
