Report: WrestleCon main event featuring AEW’s Ricochet almost got scrapped

After the much-awaited Ricochet vs. Leon Slater match was canceled, it was replaced by Ricochet and GOA vs. JetSpeed and Michael Oku, which got almost canceled again.

In the main event of the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow, fans witnessed AEW Trios teams, The Demand (Ricochet & Gates of Agony), facing off against JetSpeed (along with Michael Oku).

However, according to a recent report by PWInsider, The Gates of Agony’s (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) flight into Las Vegas was delayed and landed well beyond late.

Soon after their flight landed, Liona and Kaun rushed from their plane and headed toward the Horseshow in Las Vegas, where WrestleCon was taking place. In the process, they also abandoned their luggage at the Las Vegas airport and had their gear in their carry-ons.

Wrestlecon added extra time to some of the undercard matches and even added an additional match between Man Like DeReiss and Ethan Allen in order to give GOA time to get to the venue, so that the main event could go on as planned,” PWInsider wrote.

In the end, everything worked out, although there were worries throughout the show about delivering what was promised to the audience. The new main event was planned and arranged after TNA had decided to pull out their talents from matches against AEW wrestlers.

Mike Bailey: ‘Exclusive contracts are bad for pro wrestlers’

Mike Bailey believes that exclusive contracts in pro wrestling are bad for wrestlers.

Speaking to Adrian Hernandez in an interview released Friday, Bailey said that while he understands there is a need for such contracts in wrestling, he feels they can be harmful to a wrestler’s development.

Bailey said:

“This is my hot take when it comes to professional wrestling but exclusive contracts are bad for pro wrestlers, for their development.

I understand there is a need for them. The ecosystem, the companies, it doesn’t work without them, and that makes sense. But if everyone in the world could wrestle absolutely anyone else regardless of contracts, just imagine the match-ups you would see. Well, we can’t really have that, but the closest thing we can have is what AEW is doing, partnering up with CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling and working together to showcase the best wrestlers from all over the world.

It’s been a problem in professional wrestling for a long time, the lack of diversity in terms of seeing champions from different cultures and races. And I think the fact that in order to be considered eligible to become a champion in pro wrestling, you need to speak English, especially as a first language, is completely ridiculous and extremely counterproductive. And I’m glad that it’s become less and less of a thing, and I think it’s due to partnerships like that and opening up the playing fields to literally letting anyone who is the best at pro wrestling wrestle at the very top, as it should be. And I think putting any kind of barrier on that is absolutely ridiculous.

So I think that what AEW is doing right now, I mean, you can see it, because other companies are following suit, is exactly what needs to happen in professional wrestling.

Bailey is coming off wrestling three shows for CMLL in Mexico last weekend. He headlined the Friday, April 3 Arena Mexico show, defending the AEW World Trios titles alongside Kevin Knight and Mistico against El Clon, Hechicero, and Volador Jr.

Bailey and Knight also defeated Los Hermanos Chavez at Arena Coliseo on Saturday. They then teamed with Mistico again in a win over Los Guerreros Laguneros on Sunday’s Arena Mexico show.

Bailey, Knight, and Mistico are scheduled to defend the AEW World Trios titles on Collision this week against Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, and David Finlay. The match was taped Wednesday in Edmonton.

Bailey’s full interview with Adrian Hernandez is available below. The video is queued to his comments about exclusive contracts.

New title matches announced for AEW Revolution

AEW has announced two brand new title matches as a part of the updated AEW Revolution lineup.

A few weeks ago, Thekla defeated Kris Statlander to become the new Women’s World Champion in a Strap match. She followed it up with a title defense win over Thunder Rosa. However, after their match on the March 4 episode of Dynamite, Statlander stopped the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, & Skye Blue) from attacking Rosa.

Shortly after, AEW President Tony Khan announced on social media that Thekla will defend her title against Statlander in a two-out-of-three falls match on March 15th at AEW Revolution.

In the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis defeated Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey to win the AEW World Trios title.

With Page scheduled for a title match against MJF, Okada, Fletcher, and Davis will now defend their Trios titles against Knight, Bailey, and Mistico at AEW Revolution.

**********

AEW Collision wasted no time with PAC and Mike Bailey making their entrance for their first matches in the AEW Continental Classic.

PAC (0) vs. Mike Bailey (0) in a C2 Gold League Match

Bailey and PAC started the match exchanging chops, ending with Bailey hitting rapid kicks, but missing a pump kick when PAC was on the apron. PAC pulled Bailey to the floor and hit a snap suplex. PAC drove Bailey into the guardrails around ringside a few times before throwing him in the ring for a pinfall attempt. PAC dodged a kick from Bailey, but Bailey hit a dropkick of the middle rope and followed up with some hard kicks and a standing shooting star press for a 2-count.

PAC blocked another pump kick with PAC on the apron, but Bailey was smart this time and dropped down and swept the legs of PAC before hitting a triangle moonsault to the floor. Clever little spot there. Bailey hit several hard kicks to the chest of PAC, leaving him laying on the floor. PAC hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Bailey off the top rope when Bailey was going for something as they came back from break. PAC went to the top rope, but Bailey rolled away, and threw a kick that PAC leaned back to dodge. After dodging a second kick, PAC hit a pump kick and a German suplex.

Bailey stopped a sunset flip and hit a moonsault into double knees on PAC. Both men hit pump kicks at the same time and ended up rolling out of the ring on opposite sides of it. They decided to run around the ring and charge again, hitting double pump kicks again. PAC blocked a kick from Bailey, Bailey flipped out of it, but PAC sent Bailey into the announce table and hit a German suplex on the floor. Bailey got back onto the apron at 9 and charged Bailey, but Bailey leaped onto the top rope and as PAC slid to the floor, Bailey hit a moonsault.

PAC dodged Ultima Weapon and went for his running lariat that he has been using as a finishing move lately, but Bailey hit a spinning kick and went for another, but PAC ducked. Bailey managed to hit a thrust kick and went for Ultima Weapon again, but PAC dodged and hit a hard running lariat before locking on the Brutalizer for the submission victory as Bailey passed out in it.

Result: PAC (3) wins via submission (referee stoppage)

–Daniel Garcia was backstage with Jon Moxley, and he spoke with Lexy Nair, saying that he was finally going to put an end to Matt Menard tonight.

–Brodido were backstage with Renee Pacquette, and Bandido talked about how he felt terrible because it was his fault that they lost the tag team titles. Brody King said that he had nothing to be ashamed of, and that Brodido was not done yet, and they would challenge for the tag titles again. King then said that Bandido was defending his title at ROH Final Battle.

–The announcers then informed us of a change to the ROH Final Battle card with Rush being injured, and the title match was changed to a Survival of the Fittest match (a 6-man elimination match) featuring Blake Christian, Sammy Guevera, The Beast Mortos, Komander, & Hechicero.

Daniel Garcia (w/ Jon Moxley) vs. Matt Menard

Menard tried to turn this into a brawl early on, sending Garcia to the floor and throwing him into the guardrails. Moxley, on commentary, noted that fighting with emotion like Menard was usually doesn’t end well. Moxley said that Menard was not about living the life of a pro wrestler, and that no one trained harder than the Death Riders, and Menard was the past while Garcia is the future.

Garcia hit headbutts on Menard and busted him open, and Garcia went right after hit, rubbing his elbow on the forehead and biting Menard as they went to an ad break. When they came back from break, Garcia had Menard in a Boston crab, but Menard was able to fight out and lock on his own Boston crab. Garcia sent Menard’s head into the announce table right in front of Moxley, who continued to cheer Garcia on. Garcia sent Menard crashing into the steps and earned a talking to from the referee. The announcers complained about the rule breaking, but Moxley said quickly that wrestling wasn’t pretty, and if AEW was a wrestling promotion, especially during the C2 month, it was going to be violent

Moxley said that Menard was tough, and he wouldn’t take that away from him, but said that he did not have what it took to beat Garcia while also putting the commentators over for doing a good job, despite pushing against some of what Moxley said. Garcia locked on the bulldog choke on Menard, and Menard fought for as long as he could, but eventually collapsed, passing out and the referee stopped the match.

Result: Daniel Garcia wins via submission (referee stoppage)

–Moxley said that this was the difference between people who know what the wrestling business is, between professionals and amateurs, and that Garcia got it. As he was talking, Mark Briscoe came out, and Moxley put him over, saying Briscoe was a real as it gets when it comes to pro wrestling, but that he wasn’t going to do a thing to Garcia.

Briscoe said that he was thankful today (Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends) that he was TNT Champion. Briscoe said that he heard Garcia wanted to challenge for the TNT title, and Briscoe said that he needed to be sure that did not bite off more than he can chew. Briscoe said that like how he is going to devour a Thanksgiving meal, he is going to devour Garcia when they fight over the title.

There was not a lot of heat for Garcia and Menard, but I will say that the story told here was great, especially with Moxley on commentary, and the dynamic with Briscoe is an interesting one. It makes me wonder if we are going to see Briscoe and Moxley down the line, which would be a tremendous match.

–Ricochet was backstage with the Gates of Agony, and he talked about how The Demand has done everything they have ever said they were going to do. Ricochet said he was thankful that he had to do nothing since he was not in the C2 this month, but that he was going to go around the world defending the AEW National Title. Toa Liona said that he arranged a meal for them to celebrate at a 5* restaurant and they left.

–Stokely Hathaway and FTR came out, and Hathaway claimed that it was the best day of his life, as FTR finally won back their world tag team titles. He said that FTR has been fighting since they were 16, and they overcame every obstacle they ever faced to win the tag titles again.

As Dax Harwood was about to talk the lights went out and The Gunn Club came out. Juice Robinson said that he knew how good FTR was, but since they beat FTR two weeks ago, and it wasn’t the first time they have beat them (in a different combination of wrestlers), but that since they won $200k last week, they wanted to win some gold now.

The Gunn Club challenged them to a match, and Harwood said that he didn’t want Robinson to touch his belt again. Austin Gunn slapped the mic out of Harwood’s hands, giving Harwood a taste of his own medicine in interrupting people, and Robinson continued saying that maybe next time, it was there time. Gunn said that they were fighting for Colton Gunn and Jay White who were injured at home, and they were going to take the titles. Robinson and Austin Gunn were awesome here. This was one of the best promos they have had in several weeks, and now I want to see this match. It is not hard, folks. Good, short promo that establishes motivations that make sense. Excellent stuff here.

–MxM TV came out came dressed out as characters from the Wizard of Oz. They continued their open challenge, and The Outrunners and Dalton Castle answered the call. Dalton Castle greeted Michael Ray in the crowd, a country music star.

The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) & Dalton Castle (w/ the Boys) vs. MxM TV (Mansoor, Mason Madden, & Johnny TV) (w/ Taya Valkyrie)

As the match started Johnny TV powerbombed Valkyrie into Dalton Castle on the floor, but this did not really cause much trouble, as Castle immediately got up and helped Truth Magnum powerbomb Mansoor. MxM missed their version of the SOB Elbow and Turbo Floyd tagged in Dalton Castle who threw Mansoor and Johnny TV around the ring. Castle hit a suplex on Madden, then they hit a collective SOB elbow on Mansoor, followed by a Bangarang by Castle for the win.

Result: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners via pinfall

–As they were celebrating, Ricochet came out. It appears they did not go out for food. Ricochet demanded the fans not boo him, so they booed him more. Bishop Kaun attacked Dalton Castle from behind as Ricochet claimed that this segment should be his championship celebration. Ricochet got in the face of Michael Ray, and Ray shoved Ricochet down and jumped the rail. Security got between them as Ricochet taunted him.

–The Don Callis family were backstage and Callis talked about how he was thankful for the family getting 3 points in the C2 last week. Rocky Romero said that he was grateful for new Don Callis family merch. Hechicero spoke in Spanish, and like the Don Callis Family, I only picked up on the word family, which they cheered. Mark Davis said he was thankful for nothing. Josh Alexander said he was thankful for Callis’ wisdom. Fletcher said he was thankful for his wealth in the family. Konosuke Takeshita said he was thankful to be a part of the family. Kazuchika Okada said he was thankful he wasn’t teaming with Takeshita. Takeshita and Okada got in each other’s face as Don quickly shooed the cameras away.

Katsuyori Shibata vs. Eddie Kingson

Kingston came right out and started brawling with Shibata on the ramps. Shibata hit some kicks on the floor to a seated Kingston before going into the ring and beginning to exchange strikes with him. Kingston hit a hard chop, but Shibata ducked another and hit a German suplex. Shibata grinded his foot against Kingston’s face, did a double wrist lock, and stomped on Kingston’s arm.

Shibata worked over the arm over the next bit, going for a kimura before transitioning into an armbar, but Kingston rolled to the ropes to break the hold. Kingston and Shibata exchanged chops in the middle of the ring. After a long exchange, Shibata went for a chop, stopped, and poked the eye. Shibata hit a kick, but Kingston responded with an enziguri and a neckbreaker. Kingston hit some hard chops but ate an STO from Shibata.

Shibata hit a German suplex after Kingston made the ropes in a choke. Kingston hit a suplex of his own when they got up. Shibata low blowed Kingston right in front of the referee, which was weird, and the referee refused to acknowledge the armbar that Shibata locked on due to the low blow. Kingston followed up by hitting a DDT for the win.

Result: Eddie Kingston via pinfall

Eddie Kingston is still not quite back to 100%, but this was easily his best match back. The finish was a bit abrupt, but it was not bad.

–Eddie Kingston took a mic and said that Hook has chosen his path, and he would have to pay for what he did from Hangman and Swerve. Kingston said that he was not a character, and while a fan said that he loved Eddie, Eddie said that for the longest time he believed that he did not deserve that love. However, it wasn’t about the fans loving him – Kingston said he loved the fans because they loved pro wrestling. Kingston said that Samoa Joe has tried to corrupt Hook, but before he can corrupt him more, Kingston was going to take the fight to Joe directly and challenged him to world title match at Winter is Coming in December. This promo was incredible, and the fans were going insane for him by the end of it. Kingston celebrated with a kid from the front row, putting him on his shoulders, and suddenly I wanted Eddie Kingston to win everything all over again. What an incredible babyface. This was such a fantastic promo.

–Red Velvet was backstage and she challenged Mercedes Mone to a rematch for the ROH Women’s Television title at ROH Final Battle.

Thekla vs. Tay Melo

Melo started the match throwing Thekla with judo throws and going for submissions. Thekla hit a drop toe hold that sent Melo into the ropes, and Thekla hit a running knee and then a suplex on the entrance ramp, which came right up to the ring tonight. They went to an ad-break just as Thekla was beating up Melo at ringside.

Melo hit a hard forearm on Thekla when they came back, but Thekla laughed and asked for more. Melo but her hair up and slapped Thekla, but Thekla hit a forearm on the rebound that dropped Melo, and Thekla locked on the Deathtrap. Melo nearly went out, but she rolled backwards into a pinfall attempt. Thekla kicked out and went for a spear after her spider walk. I suspect the spider walk took way too much time and gave Melo a chance to hit a flying knee and a Gotch style piledriver on Thekla for a 2-count. Melo went for the TayKO, but Thekla stomped on her feet, ducked a clothesline with her spider walk, and hit a spear and a curb stomp for the pin.

Result: Thekla via pinfall

–The Triangle of Madness came down to the ring to attack, but Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander ran down to make the save.

Konosuke Takeshita (0) vs. Roderick Strong (0) in a C2 Blue League Match

Takeshita and Strong started off with quick chain wrestling, hard strikes, and Strong, as expected, hit a backbreaker that stopped Takeshita’s offence. Strong hit a dropkick through the ropes onto the floor as he continued to work over Takeshita’s back, trying to suplex him into the guardrail. Takeshita, however, back suplexed Strong onto it instead, and it looked like he hit his head directly onto the guardrail. That was brutal. I hope his neck is okay.

Takeshita hit hard forearms, and nearly sent Strong into the front row. Takeshita brought Strong back to the ring and continued the beatdown. Strong hit a few forearms, but Takeshita responded with his forearm of death that dropped Strong. Takeshita actually tried to lock on Okada’s Money Clip, by the looks of it, but Strong fought out and Strong hit a dropkick that dropped Takeshita.

Strong hit a lariat, but Takeshita tried to hit a blue thunder bomb, and Strong slipped out and hit an Olympic slam followed with a series of running forearms. Strong hit a tiger driver for a 2-count, but as Takeshita kicked out, Strong tried to lock on the Stronghold. However, Takeshita got his foot loose and dragged to the ropes.

Takeshita hit a Yakuza kick on Strong and called for the Raging Fire off the middle rope into the ring, but Strong countered and hit a backbreaker on the turnbuckle for a 2-count. Strong hit a gutbuster and a torture rack into backbreaker, but Takeshita managed to avoid a sick kick and hit a German suplex for a 2-count. Takeshita hit the power drive knee and hit the Raging Fire for the pinfall victory.

Result: Konosuke Takeshita (3) via pinfall

Final Thoughts

Any time AEW runs the C2 the shows usually turn out to be great from an in ring perspective. This show did not disappoint, but it was Eddie Kingston’s promo that stole the show. Kingston is such a tremendous babyface that gets me to believe in him and want to see him win. This was no different here.

AEW Dynamite (December 3, 2025)

  • C2 Blue League Match: Jon Moxley (3) vs. Claudio Castagnoli (3)
  • C2 Gold League Match: Kazuchika Okada (0) vs. PAC (3)

Clarification on awkward Shelton Benjamin vs. Mike Bailey AEW Dynamite finish

On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez explained what happened with the awkward Shelton Benjamin vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey finish from last night’s AEW Dynamite.

The closing stretch of the Benjamin vs. Bailey match included a spot where Benjamin delivered a superkick and went for the pin, but the referee stopped counting despite Bailey’s shoulders still being down. They then continued on with the match, which ended with Benjamin getting the win with a German suplex, a knee strike, and another superkick.

Some fans thought Bailey was injured from the initial kick, but that was not the case. Benjamin tried to call an audible and end the match with the first kick because he thought it looked so cool that it should be the finish. The referee was not on the same page and there was a miscommunication.

“As it turns out, everybody is fine,” Alvarez said. “What essentially happened is — the finish was going to be a superkick. So Shelton ends up shooting him in or whatever. And he hits this kick, and Speedball just takes this incredible full-flip bump and it looks like he’s dead. So Shelton decides it ain’t going to get better than that. And so Shelton calls the audible — this is the finish. Apparently the ref didn’t hear him, and so the ref stops the count because that wasn’t actually supposed to be the finish.

“So you could say it’s the referee’s fault, you could say it’s Shelton’s fault. You can’t say it’s Speedball’s fault, he just laid there like he was supposed to. So, anyway, that’s what happened. It was a miscommunication. And then when the referee stopped [counting], they just went on and did the actual finish. But, no, he did not get concussed by the kick or anything like that. There was no injury involved. It was just, Shelton thought a move looked really cool and that they should just go to the finish right there.”

Benjamin’s victory earned him one of the first two spots in the Casino Gauntlet Match at Saturday’s Full Gear pay-per-view. He’ll start the gauntlet off against his Hurt Syndicate stablemate Bobby Lashley.

The winner of the gauntlet becomes the inaugural AEW National Champion.

MVP refutes ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey AEW heat rumors

MVP is refuting claims that he has heat with “Speedball” Mike Bailey, instead calling Bailey “one of the nicest guys around.”

A report emerged over the summer claiming that MVP did not like Bailey and did not want The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) to lose to JetSpeed (Bailey & Kevin Knight). MVP and Bailey joked about the rumors at the time — and now MVP has directly addressed the situation on a new episode of his podcast.

“At no point did I ever say that I dislike ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey,” MVP said on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze. “I don’t have an issue with Speedball. We work together, we see each other, we shake hands and we keep it moving. Like, there’s no issue there.

“I don’t have any problems with any of the talent that I work with at AEW. Mike Bailey is one of the nicest guys around. I don’t have a problem with him.”

MVP added that he does not believe there are any significant issues among any of the talent in the AEW locker room.

“And to be honest, as far as I know, amongst talent at AEW, I think everybody pretty much gets along amongst the talent,” MVP said. “I mean, yeah, you’re always going to have professional disagreements. And everybody’s, you know, jockeying for a position. Everybody wants to be the top guy. So, yeah, you’re going to have rifts and you’re going to have issues.

“But for the most part, I don’t know of anybody in the AEW locker room that has, like, legitimate beef with anybody.”

MVP manages The Hurt Syndicate in AEW along with still competing in the ring from time to time. He, Lashley & Benjamin became the new number one contenders to the AEW Trios titles by defeating Ricochet & The Gates of Agony at WrestleDream. The titles are currently held by Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs & Katsuyori Shibata.

**********

With the Dynasty PPV coming tomorrow night, Collision comes live (to tape) from Peoria, Illinois. Sir Elton John welcomed us to the show, as Tony Schiavone was on the call. Nigel McGuinness was out this week, replaced at the desk by Don Callis as his charges entered for the opening contest.

Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher defeated Powerhouse Hobbs & Tomohiro Ishii (w/Rocky Romero)

I’m enjoying the shows that feature the Callis Family talent a lot, as Takeshita and Fletcher are currently two of the best wrestlers in a company full of great wrestlers. I’m also glad they’re keeping Hobbs in sight, even in a losing effort here.

Ishii asked to start with Takeshita, rekindling their war from the Tokyo Dome this past January. The two traded shoulder blocks until they both went down. Fletcher and Hobbs tagged in, with Hobbs simply refusing to fall down on a DDT attempt. Fletcher feigned that Romero tripped him from the outside, distracting the ref so the Callis Family could get an advantage going into the commercial break.

Ishii took Takeshita up and over on a suplex as we came back from the break. Hobbs got the hot tag and ran wild before taking the straps down. Takeshita dropped Hobbs with a German suplex, but Hobbs came back with a main event spinebuster. Ishii and Fletcher tagged in and traded suplexes.

Fletcher and Takeshita dropped Hobbs before double booting Ishii in the corner. They went for a super powerbomb, but Ishii hit a Frankensteiner on Fletcher to escape. Hobbs and Ishii double-teamed Fletcher, with Ishii hitting a vicious headbutt/lariat combo. Takeshita helped Fletcher hit a brainbuster on Ishii, and after Takeshita took Hobbs down with a Blue Thunder Bomb, Fletcher hit a bloody-nosed Ishii with a Tombstone and a brainbuster for the win.

We got a video package on the happenings on Dynamite between Swerve Strickland, Hangman Page, & Jon Moxley. In an interesting editing note, an All In Texas commercial aired, with Page and Strickland as the last two featured faces.

Max Caster was here for another Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge. He said he had to drive by himself through some terrible weather to get to this show, unlike a former partner of his. He kicked off his chant to boos before announcing he would have another Open Challenge tomorrow night at Dynasty. Mark Briscoe answered the Open Challenge, and we had ourselves a match.

Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge – Mark Briscoe defeated Max Caster

With Caster announcing another open challenge for the PPV, you have to wonder if that will be the place where Anthony Bowens makes his return.

You know how these open challenges go by now. Briscoe pinballed Caster around and won with the Jay Driller.

We got a video package hyping the Will Ospreay vs. Kevin Knight Hart Foundation Tournament match at Dynasty.

Lexy Nair’s guest at this time was Jay White, who was ruled out of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament with a broken wrist caused by an off-screen attack by the Death Riders. White mockingly wished Kevin Knight luck and said that Will Ospreay was lucky that he got to duck White again. White turned his attention to the Death Riders, saying that they will regret ever crossing him.

Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) (w/ Leila Grey) defeated Cru (Action Andretti & Lio Rush)

This match was alright, but there was a big lack of crowd heat as this was on the back end of a Dynamite taping. I’m glad they’ll get to run it with a hotter crowd at the Dynasty Zero Hour. Interesting to see Nick Wayne get shine on his own, as it was announced that he’ll be in this year’s Best of the Super Juniors for New Japan next month.

Top Flight jumped Cru as the lovely Leila Grey distracted them from the ramp. Top Flight pinballed Cru around, and all four guys hit dives as we went to a commercial.

Darius and Andretti took each other down with clotheslines as we came back from commercial. Dante and Rush tagged in, with Dante hitting a springboard dropkick off the bottom rope for a nearfall. Rush snuck a tag, and Cru got some quick offense in to isolate Dante. Andretti hit a springboard clothesline for a nearfall.

Darius saved his brother on a suplex, and the teams traded punches. Andretti dropped Darius, but Dante snuck behind Andretti to catch him with a crucifix for the win. After the match, Cru jumped Top Flight again before AR Fox made the save. Nick Wayne came in and dropped Fox with Wayne’s World (Wayne’s World) before the announcement was made for a six-man tag match at the Dynasty Zero Hour: Nick Wayne & Cru vs. AR Fox & Top Flight.

Lexy Nair’s guests at this time were Hart Foundation Tournament opponents Jamie Hayter & Billie Starkz. Hayter said she was impressed by Starkz and shook her hand and told her to keep her eye out for Athena as she took Starkz’s moment last week. Starkz said she wasn’t a failure and would prove it in The Owen.

Matt Menard told us about the latest sale on the AEW merch store. I won’t be telling you about it because they don’t pay me.

Adam Cole & Daniel Garcia Sit-Down Interview

This feud feels like it’s been building to Garcia getting the biggest defense of his reign so far, beating an All In main eventer and major name in Cole. I think these two have a high quality PPV match in them.

Renee Paquette sat down with both TNT Champion Daniel Garcia & Adam Cole ahead of their title match at Dynasty. Paquette asked the first question to Garcia, but Cole cut her off to talk about the first time they had faced off. Garcia was talented but confused, and he was still the same. Cole said that he had beaten Garcia, but Garcia had never beaten him. This Sunday was Cole’s 17-year anniversary in pro wrestling, in the city where he had his first match, and he felt it was destiny to win the TNT Title at Dynasty.

Garcia said that he didn’t have to give Cole this title match but wanted to out of respect for Cole. Cole has had chances to be the man, just as he’s had chances to be the TNT Champion, but he hasn’t gotten it done. Garcia wouldn’t be giving Cole any other shots after he beat him on Sunday.

Cole asked to clear the room to speak to Garcia alone. He told Garcia that while he had been the man in multiple promotions and carried promotions on his back, Garcia wasn’t ready to do that. He said he would prove it on Sunday. The two stared each other down before Garcia took his title and left.

PAC defeated Cash Wheeler

PAC controlled the opening stage of the match until Wheeler caught him with a flash pin. Wheeler picked the pace up and whipped PAC out of the ring. Wheeler fought out of a superplex after PAC got back in the ring, but PAC swept Wheeler’s feet out from under him and sent him to the floor off the apron. PAC hit a springboard moonsault to the floor to retain control as we went to a commercial break.

PAC got a nearfall with a running uppercut for a nearfall as we came back. Wheeler sent PAC to the floor and followed him with a big suicide dive. Wheeler hit a high cross for a nearfall, then caught PAC with a powerslam for another nearfall. PAC moved out of the way of a big splash but got caught on the ropes with a big superplex for a nearfall. PAC booted Wheeler into the ropes for a German suplex but got caught with a lariat from Wheeler.

Wheeler ran into a thrust kick, but as PAC came off the ropes with a Shooting Star Press, Wheeler moved and pulled PAC up for a piledriver. Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli arrived, but Cope came out to cut off Castagnoli. Dax Harwood cut off a charging Yuta, but PAC caught Wheeler in a crucifix to steal away with the win.

After the match, Cope and Wheeler offered Harwood their hands, and he took them as Rated FTR embraced to applause from the crowd.

During this match, Max Caster’s open challenge was made official for the Zero Hour.

We got words from Kenny Omega during a video package for the International Championship match at Dynasty. He said that he had to prove he was the best as he was a champion and said that we would all find out who the true best was at Dynasty.

Shane Taylor Promotions were backstage, as they were tired of hearing people talk tough when they aren’t like that. They called out The Opps, saying that they weren’t opps, they were just an opportunity.

Speedball Mike Bailey defeated Dralistico (w/The Beast Mortos)

Ricochet came out for commentary. Bailey and Dralistico traded headscissors and strikes before bowing to each other. Dralistico gave Bailey the finger and took a mid-kick as a result. Bailey scored with the Lightning Kicks on Dralistico before Beast Mortos got in Bailey’s way, allowing Dralistico to pinball Bailey around the outside to Ricochet’s delight as we went to a commercial.

Bailey caught Dralistico with a missile dropkick as we came back, scoring with a standing shooting star press for a nearfall. Dralistico rolled to the floor, but Bailey followed with a triangle moonsault to Mortos. Dralistico hit a dive, then hit a springboard lungblower for a nearfall. The two traded roll-ups before Bailey scored with a pair of spinning heel kicks to win.

After the match, Ricochet kicked Bailey in the groin before hitting the Spirit Gun to stand tall.

Lexy Nair’s guests at this time were Owen Hart Foundation Tournament opponents Thunder Rosa & Kris Statlander, who would be facing off for the first time ever. They got in each other’s faces, with Rosa landing a slap to Statlander.

Mercedes Mone & Harley Cameron were backstage warming up, with Mone being generally annoyed with Cameron.

We got a video package for Megan Bayne vs. Toni Storm at Dynasty.

Athena & Julia Hart defeated Harley Cameron & Mercedes Mone (w/Mini Mone)

This was a damn good main event, with the interactions between Athena and Mone getting over well as that match gets built. The interactions between the two were very good as well, as that match could end up being the major match AEW wants it to be down the line.

Athena and Mone got in each other’s faces immediately and started the match piefacing each other before Mone tagged in Cameron. Cameron got dragged into the wrong corner, with Hart tagging in and taking her down by the arm. Cameron hit an enzuigiri and tagged Mone, who got caught with a couple of flash pins before Mone took her down.

Mone hung Hart in the Tree of Woe, but Hart sat up out of the way of a pair of corner charges before catching Mone in an Octopus Hold. Cameron threw Mini Mone in the ring to motivate(?) Mone, and I guess it did, as she hit a lungblower on Hart as we went to a commercial.

Hart was your Witch-In-Peril as we came back. She tagged in Athena, and she fired up on Mone before Cameron tagged in. Athena hit a Brian Cage-esque Samoan Drop/Fallaway Slam combo on both her opponents to a big pop. Athena hit a big forearm on Cameron for a nearfall before diving onto Mone on the outside. Cameron took Athena down with a tornado DDT on the floor, and Hart dove from the top rope onto the pile.

Cameron and Athena rolled into the ring, with Athena scoring with a double powerbomb. Hart tagged in and went for her moonsault, but Cameron moved, and Hart ended up taking a backstabber from Mone. Hart and Cameron were left after Athena and Mone took each other out. Cameron hit a back suplex and went for Her Finishing Move, but Hart maneuvered around into an Octopus Hold. Mone could have made the save, but chose not to fight Athena, allowing Cameron to tap out.

Mike Bailey on signing with AEW: ‘It’s where I belong’

Mike Bailey’s career has taken a few twists and turns over the years, but following his AEW debut, Bailey says he’s exactly where he belongs.

Bailey defeated The Beast Mortos in his first AEW match on Dynamite last week. He’d been with TNA Wrestling since January 2022, winning the X-Division title on three occasions.

He told Bleacher Report recently that it was time for him to “step up and make it to the big leagues.”

“I think my biggest accomplishment in pro wrestling, and in life to be honest, is making every single year better than the last,” he said. “It was time for me to step up and make it to the big leagues, and AEW is where the best wrestle, and in my opinion, it’s where I belong.”

Bailey isn’t limiting himself to AEW. He also hopes to wrestle for NJPW and CMLL, both of which have working relationships with AEW.

“Over the last three years under my previous contract, I was allowed to do all the independent bookings that I want. I wrestled for every single promotion in America that I could because I love variety,” he continued. “Obviously, right now, AEW is my focus. It’s where I want to be, it’s where I want to wrestle, but wrestling for New Japan and CMLL and going to those places to represent AEW would be a huge honor.”

Bailey is scheduled for the four-way match on tonight’s Dynamite to determine who will challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW International Championship at Revolution. Bailey says Omega is the greatest Canadian wrestler of all time, even better than Bret Hart.

“I get a lot of flak for this and this is when I get very controversial,” he said. “I think 2025 is the best year for professional wrestling in history. It’s hard to not be nostalgic, and of course you have to give people like Bret Hart his credit for what an innovator he was and just how special he was as a performer.”

“But I don’t think there is or has ever been a Canadian pro wrestler as good as Kenny Omega. I’m sure and I hope that there will be 10 years from now. Maybe we don’t know him or he’s just gotten started in professional wrestling and 20 years from now he will be outdone.”

“But for now, it’s Kenny Omega by leaps and bounds. My goal is to make it as far as I can so that I can one day have someone I train surpass me, and that’s a much bigger goal for me than making it far myself.”

Before signing with TNA Wrestling, Bailey believed he was headed to WWE for a run on the NXT brand. During an appearance on Talk is Jericho last year, he revealed that he was in the hiring process when WWE informed him that new recruitment policies—which coincided with Vince McMahon’s return—meant they could no longer bring him in. Shortly after, he debuted in TNA Wrestling.

Prior to signing with TNA in 2022, Bailey spent five years banned from entering the United States due to a 2016 visa violation when he attempted to work an EVOLVE event without proper documentation. Similar bans have previously impacted other Canadian wrestlers, including Nicole Matthews, who is now cleared to work in the U.S. again. Evil Uno and Stu Grayson were once flagged for a similar issue.

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey debuts on AEW Dynamite, officially signs contract

“Speedball” Mike Bailey is officially #AllElite after making his promotional debut during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Bailey picked up a victory over The Beast Mortos, making a surprise appearance as the sole wild card in the International title eliminator tournament. He picked up the victory after hitting a spinning crescent kick for the pin.

He advances to a four-way on next Wednesday’s Dynamite with the winner challenging reigning International Champion Kenny Omega at next month’s Dynasty pay-per-view.

Shortly afterward, AEW head Tony Khan made the signing official:

The 34-year-old Bailey wrapped up a multi-year run in TNA Wrestling last November and had been rumored to be heading to AEW after news broke that he was going to free agency. Three weeks ago, a Bailey vignette aired on Collision, heralding his arrival.

The match was the Canadian’s first since an early-December 2024 match in Deadlock Pro Wrestling.

It was their first meeting since being on opposite sides of a TNA tag team match in 2023.

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey coming soon vignette airs on AEW Collision

During Saturday’s AEW Collision, AEW officially announced the impending arrival of former TNA X-Division Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

As the show was previously taped, a specially produced vignette aired hyping Bailey’s long-awaited debut with the company.

It was rumored that Bailey was set to sign with AEW after his TNA deal expired, but it was unclear as to why he hadn’t appeared yet with acquiring a working visa speculated as a possible reason.

Bailey’s contract with TNA expired at the end of last year with his final match taped last October that aired in early-November where he lost the X-Division Championship to reigning title-holder Moose.

In the months following his departure from TNA, the 34-year-old remained active in the ring, competing for Scott D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Canada, where he continued to showcase his elite skills against top-tier talent like current International Champion Konosuke Takeshita, GCW and Deadlock Pro where he and Jake Something lost their Tag Team titles in early-December.
