Konosuke Takeshita wins International title at AEW Double or Nothing, injured star returns

In a rematch that’s been a more than a year in the making, Konosuke Takeshita bested faction mate and rival Kazuchika Okada for the International title at Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing and then was turned on by the returning Kyle Fletcher.

Takeshita picked up the win after hitting a Rainmaker on Okada, followed by an Okada dropkick and then a Takeshita running knee strike that got just a one count. Okada then fell victim to a raging fire to give the new champion the win.

Afterward, Don Callis was joined by Okada, Rocky Romero and Mark Davis in the ring. The three were bickering with Takeshita about giving Okada a brainbuster on the outside of the ring earlier in the way when Fletcher’s music hit — his first appearance since late-March when he suffered a meniscus injury.

Fletcher embraced Takeshita and then raised his arm until his expression changed and he clotheslined his old friend. He then gave him a brainbuster of his own and eventually, the rest of the group got back in the ring. He and Okada picked up the International title at the same time which got a big crowd reaction, but Okada let Fletcher take it who then blasted Takeshita in the head and made it clear he is coming for the title.

The win ends the 317-day reign for Okada who won the title in a unification bout against Kenny Omega last July’s All In and successfully defended it nine times. It’s Takeshita’s second run with the title and his first since March 2025.

The match was a rematch from last December’s Continental Classic semifinals at Worlds End where Okada used a screwdriver to defeat Takeshita.

Konosuke Takeshita to replace Kazuchika Okada in upcoming AEW World title match

Things are set to get more tense for Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita in AEW.

Despite belonging to the same faction, Don Callis Family, Okada and Takeshita have never seen eye-to-eye. Throughout their time on the roster, a sense of tension has existed between the two.

Before their singles match against each other at AEW Double or Nothing, Okada was set to face Darby Allin for the AEW World title on the upcoming May 13 episode of Dynamite. However, with Okada visiting Japan for a personal reason, the match has been changed. It was announced on AEW Fairway to Hell that Takeshita, representing the Don Callis Family, will take on Allin for the World title next week.

Update: In a report noted by our Bryan Alvarez, it was shared that, “Okada going to Japan on family business is legitimate.” It was reported as the reason behind the change in Allin’s previously scheduled World title defense.

Darby Allin defeats PAC on AEW Fairway to Hell, Retains World title

In the main event of the AEW Fairway to Hell show, fans saw Darby Allin survive all odds to retain his AEW World title against PAC.

From surviving a massive 25ft drop and crashing through four tables to other brutal moments throughout the match, Allin stood tall and defeated PAC after a Coffin drop. The AEW Fairway to Hell episode closed with Allin standing tall before his World title match next week against Takeshita.

Kazuchika Okada, PAC to get AEW World title shots in five day stretch

AEW World Champion Darby Allin has two title defenses in a five stretch — if he can survive the first one.

Both made during Wednesday’s three-hour Dynamite/Collision block, Allin will first put his World title on the line this Saturday at the first-ever Fairway to Hell show on TBS against PAC.

In a backstage segment, PAC called for the title shot as he is 2-1 against Allin all-time with their last bout taking place in January (an Allin win). It will be the second match set for the one-hour special, joining the Jack Perry National title defense against Mark Davis.

The winner of that match will then move on to next Wednesday on Dynamite against reigning AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada. Okada picked up a title defense against Bryan Keith and then challenged Allin for a title shot. Okada later confronted Allin after his own title defense over Kevin Knight, demanding an answer.

Allin agreed, saying, “It’s on, b*tch.” It will be their first-ever singles match.

Both PAC and Okada are looking for their first-ever AEW World title run. If Allin survives the five-day stretch, a hair vs. title match may await him at Double or Nothing.

Austin comes into the match a loser of his last four in AEW. This will be his third title shot during this stretch (TNT, National).

Okada has held the title for nearly 300 days dating back to last July’s All In: Texas. Wednesday’s match will be his eighth defense.

It’s the fourth title defense announced for the broadcast.

First title match official for AEW Double or Nothing

Promised prior to Dynasty, the first official match is confirmed for next month’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Made official during Thursday’s AEW Collision, Kazuchika Okada will put his International title on the line against Konosuke Takeshita at the Sunday, May 24 event from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

In a backstage segment, Okada told Don Callis he would put the title on the line in the match as the rivalry between the two stablemates intensified this week. This past Sunday at Dynasty, the two teamed against the Young Bucks and lost due to a seemingly intentional miscue by Takeshita that caused Okada to be pinned.

In a segment shown on Dynamite from Dynasty, Okada and Callis questioned Takeshita to which he mockingly replied, “Oops.” Callis promised Takeshita he could have the match against Okada if they took on the Bucks at Dynasty.

By the time the match comes around, Okada will be at 300+ days as champion and has seven successful title defenses to date. Takeshita held the title for 148 days from late-2024 through early 2025 with eight successful defenses before losing it to Kenny Omega at 2025’s Revolution.

It will be a rematch from this past December’s Continental Classic semifinals that Okada won. While they have been on opposite sides of the ring several times over the past two years, this is only their second-ever singles match.

Report: Kazuchika Okada’s original AEW Dynasty plans revealed

Original scrapped plans for Kazuchika Okada at AEW Dynasty have been revealed!

Tagging along with Konosuke Takeshita and facing The Young Bucks, Okada found himself on the losing team. Despite a 20-minute match, the final moments saw Takeshita assist The Young Bucks in hitting their finisher on Okada and secure the victory; he later also gave the middle finger to Okada to close the segment.

However, this was not always the plan for Okada. According to a latest report by Fightful Select, Okada was scheduled to defend his AEW International Championship at AEW Dynasty. However, plans changed due to Kyle Fletcher’s injury.

Original plans had Fletcher teaming up with Takeshita to face The Young Bucks. However, as per Fightful Select, Fletcher’s injury saw several talents that weren’t scheduled for AEW Dynasty get added in the last few weeks. Fightful Select is currently working to find out the exact names of those talents.

Okada and Takeshita are now expected to compete against each other for Okada’s title at AEW Double or Nothing.

Kenny Omega reveals his favorite NJPW rivals

As Kenny Omega enters his newest rivalry in AEW, he’s also reflecting on some of his favorite rivalries in Japan.

Omega was asked about his favorite New Japan rivalries in an appearance on the Battleground Podcast. “I think a lot of people sort of default to the [Kazuchika] Okada one and I understand why,” he said. “But I would say that for fans that were primarily New Japan fans, they also would argue that they really enjoyed my series of matches that I had with [Tetsuya] Naito. They really enjoyed the series of matches I had with [Tomohiro] Ishii.”

Then Omega went into detail about his long-term story with his old partner Kota Ibushi.

“Some of the people know me more because of the Golden Lovers stuff, which is also fantastic,” he said. “And I think that was some of the most proud storytelling that I’ve ever done in my career because the onus was all on us to continue that story forward and to always sort of implant that in the things we had done when maybe the promoters or the bookers didn’t see the value in it.”

In particular, Omega’s happy how the two of them told the story while wrestling for several different companies.

“We had always sort of wanted to not insult the fans intelligence,” Omega said. “Regardless of what promotion we were in, we wanted to show that there was this interconnectivity and these human emotions, and that life doesn’t end just because of promotion changes. Relationships don’t end because of promotion changes. And it was cool that we could see this multiple-promotion-spanning storyline that took about a decade to see the grand finale and to be able to be at the forefront of an actual real long-term story where the onus was completely on us to tell.”

Two title matches, Hurt Syndicate in action as part of announced AEW Collision lineup

This Saturday’s Dynasty go-home edition of AEW Collision will feature two title defenses in addition to both the Young Bucks and the Hurt Syndicate in action.

AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada will defend against Myron Reed of The Rascalz. Okada has held the title for over 270 days with six successful title defenses while Reed is looking for his first AEW belt.

AEW Trios Champions Mistico and JetSpeed will put their titles on the line against The Dogs who called out the champions after a backstage attack on Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong during Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Ahead of their Dynasty match against Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada, the Young Bucks will take on El Clon & Hechicero.

For the first time in months, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Syndicate will be in action.

Rush and Anthony Bowens will do battle for the second spot in the Casino gauntlet match this Sunday for the vacant TNT title.

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla will team with Marina Shafir against The Brawling Birds in a Dynasty preview.

Young Bucks vs. Takeshita & Okada set for AEW Dynasty with key Double or Nothing development

A star-laden tag team match is official for this Sunday’s AEW Dynasty with big implications for next month’s Double or Nothing.

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks will take on the Don Callis-led team of Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada, made by Callis himself on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Takeshita, who has been griping with Okada for months, wasn’t thrilled with the revelation but Callis threw in a big gift: Takeshita will get the one-on-one match against Okada he’s been craving at May’s Double or Nothing and it will be for Okada’s International title.

Callis noted that he was originally going to have Kyle Fletcher team with Okada instead, but due to Fletcher’s injury, that plan had to be changed.

Matt and Nick Jackson will take on Hechicero and El Clon of the Callis clan on this Saturday’s Collision.

International title defense signed for AEW Collision

AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada will put his title on the line against Kevin Knight as part of this Saturday’s AEW Collision.

Knight, Mike Bailey and Mistico defeated Okada, Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher for the AEW Trios titles at this month’s Revolution pay-per-view.

Since losing to Jon Moxley in the Continental Classic finals at December’s Worlds End, Okada is 3-0 with two successful title defenses (Adam Priest, AR Fox). Knight is 4-2 in his last six and is coming off a recent win over El Clon.

New Trios champions crowned at AEW Revolution

Brand new Trios champions have been crowned at AEW Revolution.

Toward the final stages of the AEW Revolution PPV, fans saw The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Mark Davis, and Kyle Fletcher) defend their Trios titles against Mistico, Kevin Knight, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

Following a closely contested fight and several near falls, the final moments of the match saw Mistico trap Fletcher in with La Mistica, Bailey hit Davis, and Knight follow it up with a Frog Splash on Davis and cover him for the pinfall victory.

With the pinfall win, Bailey, Knight, and Mistico crowned themselves the brand new AEW Trios Champions, ending The Don Callis family’s short title reign. Shortly after the win, production hit Mistico’s theme song as the crowd joined in. As the Los Angeles crowd vibed to the song, the news of Mistico’s All Elite signing was also announced.

Interestingly, Mistico, 43, is also a CMLL World Trios Champion with Mascara Dorada and Neon in CMLL. Former AEW Trios Champion Adam Page is currently scheduled to be in a Texas Deathmatch against MJF for the AEW World title.

Kazuchika Okada makes unadvertised title defense on ROH on HonorClub

Kazuchika Okada made an unadvertised title defense on Thursday’s edition of ROH on HonorClub.

The show was headlined by a Four Corner Survival match that carried the stipulation that the winner would receive an immediate title shot. AR Fox outlasted Lee Johnson, Shane Taylor, and “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard to win.

The championship Fox would challenge for was not revealed ahead of time. After he won the four-way, Okada’s music played and the match began following in-ring introductions.

The finish saw Fox get a near fall off a 450 splash, but Okada hit a Rainmaker and pinned him moments later.

It was Okada’s first match in Ring of Honor since he won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at ROH x NJPW G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden on April 6, 2019. He defeated Jay White to win the title.

This week’s ROH on HonorClub was the first episode to air from the company’s standalone TV tapings in Jacksonville on Sunday, March 1.

New title matches announced for AEW Revolution

AEW has announced two brand new title matches as a part of the updated AEW Revolution lineup.

A few weeks ago, Thekla defeated Kris Statlander to become the new Women’s World Champion in a Strap match. She followed it up with a title defense win over Thunder Rosa. However, after their match on the March 4 episode of Dynamite, Statlander stopped the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, & Skye Blue) from attacking Rosa.

Shortly after, AEW President Tony Khan announced on social media that Thekla will defend her title against Statlander in a two-out-of-three falls match on March 15th at AEW Revolution.

In the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis defeated Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey to win the AEW World Trios title.

With Page scheduled for a title match against MJF, Okada, Fletcher, and Davis will now defend their Trios titles against Knight, Bailey, and Mistico at AEW Revolution.

AEW Revolution 2026 lineup | March 15, 2026

  • AEW World Champion MJF defends against Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match, where if Page loses, he can’t challenge for the World title ever again.
  • AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defend against The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson).

Report: Reason why AEW International title was covered on Collision revealed

There’s a simple reason why the AEW International title was covered on Collision.

Fightful Select reported on Sunday that the bag containing Kazuchika Okada’s belt and gear were lost, hence the reason why Okada came out for his match against Adam Priest wearing different gear and the championship title was covered.

During Okada’s title match against Priest, Rocky Romero on commentary said Priest wasn’t on the same level as Okada, and that is why Priest didn’t deserve to see the champion in his robe or even see the title he was challenging for. Although Priest and Okada ended up having a competitive back-and-forth match, Okada retained the title after hitting Priest with the Rainmaker.

In recent weeks, Okada has been playing mind games with the Don Callis Family in an attempt to drive Konosuke Takeshita further away from the group. After Okada apologized to Kyle Fletcher for using the Don Callis Family screwdriver during Worlds End, Callis suggested on Dynamite that Takeshita should follow Fletcher’s lead and forgive Okada. After Takeshita asked Fletcher if he forgave Okada, he walked off dejected after not liking Fletcher’s answer.
