New title matches announced for AEW Revolution

AEW has announced two brand new title matches as a part of the updated AEW Revolution lineup.

A few weeks ago, Thekla defeated Kris Statlander to become the new Women’s World Champion in a Strap match. She followed it up with a title defense win over Thunder Rosa. However, after their match on the March 4 episode of Dynamite, Statlander stopped the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, & Skye Blue) from attacking Rosa.

Shortly after, AEW President Tony Khan announced on social media that Thekla will defend her title against Statlander in a two-out-of-three falls match on March 15th at AEW Revolution.

In the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis defeated Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey to win the AEW World Trios title.

With Page scheduled for a title match against MJF, Okada, Fletcher, and Davis will now defend their Trios titles against Knight, Bailey, and Mistico at AEW Revolution.

AEW Revolution 2026 lineup | March 15, 2026

  • AEW World Champion MJF defends against Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match, where if Page loses, he can’t challenge for the World title ever again.
  • AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defend against The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson).

AEW crowns new Trios Champions at Dynamite Spring BreakThru

New AEW Trios Champions have been crowned.

The Opps team consisting of Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs — substituting for Hook, defeated The Death Riders team of Jon Moxley — substituting for PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta in the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite Spring BreakThru special in Boston, becoming the new World Trios Champions.

The originally advertised Joe, Shibata, and Hook vs. Moxley, Castagnoli, and Yuta matchup was changed following an angle on Wednesday’s Dynamite. It was announced at the top of Wednesday’s telecast that The Death Riders had attacked Hook prior to the show, and that he was out of the match.

Taz, Hook’s father, was not in his customary position at the commentary desk for the show, with announcers Excalibur and Tony Schiavone explaining that Taz had accompanied Hook to the hospital after the attack from The Death Riders.

Hook was seen vomiting in the ring during his match on last week’s Dynamite, but it has not been made clear whether or not tonight’s angle was to cover for a legitimate illness or injury suffered last week.

In Wednesday’s title match, Joe choked out Moxley with the Coquina Clutch for the finish. The bout featured run-ins from Willow Nightingale and Swerve Strickland on behalf of The Opps, while The Young Bucks got involved in the bout on behalf of The Death Riders as those two groups continue to tease an uneasy alliance.

After the victory from The Opps, the babyface locker room emptied to celebrate The Death Riders’ defeat:

Trios Championship match set for AEW Dynamite

A match for the AEW Trios titles has been added to next week’s Dynamite.

The first Open Rules match for the titles will take place next Wednesday, where The House of Black will defend their titles against Bandido and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta). The House of Black on Wednesday introduced the Open Rules challenge, where anyone is able to challenge for the titles as long as they adhere to The House of Black’s rules, which include 20 counts outside of the ring, no rope breaks, and DQs will be enforced.

Anna Jay AS will face Julia Hart in a no holds barred match. The two have continued to feud since their match on Rampage on April 7. On last week’s Rampage, Julia Hart appeared after Jay AS won a match, leading to a brawl.

A Double Jeopardy match will also take place on Wednesday, where ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli will face one half of the ROH Tag Team Champions, Rey Fenix. The winner of the match will be able to challenge for the loser’s championship.

It was also announced that we will hear from Christian Cage, who challenged Wardlow to a TNT Championship match on last week’s Dynamite.

Here is the updated card for Dynamite:

  • Steel Cage: Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley
  • AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy defends against Daniel Garcia
  • AEW Trios Championship: The House of Black defend against Bandido and Best Friends

Triple threat Trios title match set for next week’s AEW Dynamite

House of Black will defend the AEW World Trios Championship in a triple threat match on the March 15 Dynamite episode.

In a bout set up with a promo segment on this week’s episode, House of Black’s Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews will defend their newly-won titles against The Elite’s Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson, as well as Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Daniel Garcia of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

After Jericho, Guevara, and Garcia defeated AR Fox and Top Flight in a trios match on this week’s show, Jericho called out House of Black, and declared his team the new number one contenders. The Elite answered the call-out instead. House of Black then appeared and challenged both teams for next week.

AEW World Champion MJF will have his “Re-Bar Mitzvah” on next week’s Dynamite. MJF appeared in a pre-taped promo on this week’s show, but next week will be his first live appearance since retaining the World title at Revolution.

Also announced, Orange Cassidy will defend the rebranded International Championship against Jeff Jarrett next week.

The lineup:

AEW Dynamite, Wednesday, March 15 —

  • AEW World Trios Championship: House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) defend against Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia) & The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)
  • AEW World Champion MJF’s Re-Bar Mitzvah
  • AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy defends against Jeff Jarrett

House of Black win Trios titles at AEW Revolution

The House of Black are the new AEW Trios Champions.

Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King defeated The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) to win the championships for the first time. The finish had The Young Bucks attempt to hit the Meltzer Driver on Black, but Matthews broke things up by cutting off Matt Jackson in mid-air. The timing allowed King to hit Nick Jackson with the Dante’s Inferno, giving House of Black the win. After the match, the cameras showed The Elite recovering on the outside.

The Elite had held the titles for 53 days, defeating Death Triangle (Lucha Bros. and PAC) on the January 11 edition of Dynamite. Their win had capped off a best of seven series between the two teams.

In recent weeks, The House of Black had been seen on AEW television stalking The Young Bucks and Omega. At times, they would disappear then reappear on the stage and on the apron during and after The Elite’s matches, causing a distraction. A Trios Championship match was eventually confirmed for Sunday’s show.

The Elite win AEW World Trios titles in best-of-seven series

The Elite have regained the AEW World Trios titles, defeating Death Triangle in their best of seven series.

After tying the series 3-3, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega defeated PAC, Penta El 0 M, and Fenix in an escalara de la muerte (ladder) match on Wednesday’s Dynamite. The finish had Kenny Omega give Fenix a one winged angel off a ladder propped up by another ladder and ropes to the floor. Omega then grabbed one of the Trios titles for the win.

Death Triangle’s reign with the titles ends after 126 days. They defeated Best Friends (Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, and Orange Cassidy) to win the vacant championships back on the September 7 edition of Dynamite.

The Elite were the first Trios title holders, winning them at All Out. However, a fight between them and CM Punk backstage led to them being stripped of the titles and suspended. They returned at Full Gear, losing what ended up being the first of seven matches between themselves and Death Triangle for the titles. The Elite went on to lose the next two matches before eventually tying Death Triangle in a Falls Count Anywhere match on the December 28 edition of Dynamite.

Death Triangle vs. The Elite best-of-seven series announced for AEW Dynamite

A best-of-seven series for the World Trios Championship has been announced for AEW Dynamite.

It was revealed during Saturday’s Full Gear pay-per-view that the Death Triangle vs. The Elite match at Full Gear was the first in a best-of-seven series for the AEW World Trios Championship, with the next bout set for Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Death Triangle defeated The Elite at Full Gear to go up 1-0 in the series.

The announced schedule for the series:

  • Match 1: Full Gear, Death Triangle leads 1-0
  • Match 2: November 23, AEW Dynamite in Chicago, Illinois
  • Match 3: December 7, AEW Dynamite in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Match 4: December 14, AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming in Garland, Texas
  • Match 5: December 21, AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash in San Antonio, Texas (if necessary)
  • Match 6: December 28, AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash in Denver, Colorado (if necessary)
  • Match 7: January 14, AEW Dynamite in Los Angeles (if necessary)

Here is the updated lineup for the November 23 Dynamite:

  • ROH World Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs against Tomohiro Ishii
  • AEW World title eliminator tournament finals: Ethan Page vs. Ricky Starks
  • AEW All-Atlantic Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jake Hager
  • Match two in Death Triangle and The Elite’s best-of-seven series for the AEW World Trios Championship

Death Triangle crowned new AEW World Trios Champions

PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fenix are the new AEW World Trios Champions.

Death Triangle defeated Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta, and Chuck Taylor of Best Friends in a bout to crown new World Trios Champions on Wednesday’s Dynamite. PAC pinned Taylor after hitting a Black Arrow to capture the titles for his team.

The titles had been vacated at the top of Wednesday’s Dynamite episode after an announcement from AEW GM Tony Khan. Without mentioning CM Punk or any of The Elite by name, Khan stated that he had been forced to vacate both the World and Trios titles.

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were stripped of the Trios titles that they won in a tournament final at All Out on Sunday, and Punk was stripped of the World title following a backstage altercation between Punk, The Young Bucks, Omega, and others after Sunday’s show.

The previously announced Death Triangle vs. Best Friends bout was made a title match, while a tournament to crown a new World Champion was announced, with the finals set for Dynamite Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on September 21.

Tony Khan to address AEW title situations on Dynamite

The situation involving the AEW World Championship and Trios Championships will be addressed on Dynamite.

Tony Khan posted to Twitter on Wednesday that he would personally provide an update during Wednesday’s show.

“Thank you everyone who watches @AEWonTV! Tonight LIVE on @TBSNetwork on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite I’ll address the @AEW World Championship + @AEW World Trios Championship! Please join us on TBS tonight on #AEW Dynamite for a great wrestling show live @ 8pm ET/7pm CT TONIGHT!” Khan tweeted

Our own Dave Meltzer reported on Wednesday that AEW World Champion CM Punk sustained an injury in his All Out match against Jon Moxley and will require surgery.

“Punk injury, believed to be from the tope, is serious. Rumors from Sunday but he hadn’t confirmed them but it’s been confirmed to me no matter what happens discipline-wise that the title situation has to be changed and addressed tonight,” he wrote.

Meltzer also revealed that AEW World Trios Champions, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks, have been suspended due to the backstage altercation with Punk and Ace Steel on Sunday.

“Everyone involved in the brawl is now officially suspended, Bucks, Omega, plus Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa. Ace Steel was also taken off and Punk’s situation should be clear soon. It’s all pending the completion of the investigation,” his post reads

AEW Dynamite on September 7 will take place from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The advertised lineup for the show is as follows:

  • ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta defends against Daniel Garcia
  • Best Friends & Orange Cassidy vs. Death Triangle
  • AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm vs. Penelope Ford
  • Maxwell Jacob Friedman speaks
  • Chris Jericho to address the AEW Galaxy
  • Tony Khan address AEW World Championship and AEW World Trios Championships

Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks crowned AEW Trios Champions at All Out

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are the first-ever AEW World Trios Champions.

Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson defeated Hangman Page, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds in the World Trios title tournament finals Sunday at All Out to become the first champs.

The finish of the title match left plenty of room for interpretation and future stories, as Page clipped Silver with a Buckshot Lariat when Omega rolled out of the way to lead to the finish. Page is a former member of The Elite, and once held AEW’s World Tag Team titles with Omega. The two also faced off for the AEW World title at Full Gear in November 2021, with Page defeating Omega for that championship in Omega’s last match before a nine-month hiatus due to injury.

The Elite defeated Andrade El Idolo & Rush & Dragon Lee in the eight-team tournament’s first round, United Empire’s Will Ospreay & Aussie Open in round two, then defeated Page and Dark Order in the finals on their way to the Trios titles.

Best Friends advance in AEW World Trios Championship tournament

Best Friends have advanced to the AEW World Trios Championship tournament semifinals.

Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta, and Chuck Taylor defeated Daivari, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux of Trustbusters on Friday’s Rampage episode to advance to the semifinals.

Best Friends now await the winners of House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) vs. Dark Order (John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Preston “10” Vance), with those two teams set to face off on next Friday’s Rampage episode.

On the other side of the tournament bracket, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks await the winners of the Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fenix) vs. United Empire (Will Ospreay, and Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis of Aussie Open), a match set for the August 24 Dynamite episode.

The tournament finals are set for the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago on Sunday, September 4, with the winners being crowned the first AEW World Trios Champions.
