MLW Fusion results: Two title matches

This week’s MLW Fusion was taped in New York City as part of MLW’s War Chamber tapings earlier this year. Matt Striker and Joe Dombrowski were on the call.

AKIRA (w/Raven) defeated Lince Dorado (c) and Lio Rush to win the MLW Middleweight title in a three-way

There were a lot of interlocking storylines going on here. Rush had previously stolen Dorado’s title as he claimed himself to be the real Middleweight champion while Dorado was on the end of a recent Calling attack, setting up this intriguing triple threat match.

AKIRA jumped Dorado during his entrance, dropping him with a hard suplex on the floor and taking him out of the opening of the match.

But the champion got back into it with springboards and a top rope twisting dive to the floor. He and Rush then took turns hitting handspring cutters and stunners to take AKIRA out temporarily.

Dorado momentarily got his own torturous revenge by locking AKIRA in an armbar, but Rush quickly broke it up with a frog splash. Rush then hit a dive to the floor but was taken out when he missed another frog splash.

AKIRA capitalized with Rush out of the ring to hit his Death Penalty (lifting reverse DDT) to pick up the pinfall victory and the MLW Middleweight title win — his first in MLW.

– We heard from Jacob Fatu who is set to return to action next week against John Hennigan. We last saw Fatu being attacked by Raven, AKIRA, and Ricky Shane Page. The Samoan Werewolf is out for revenge. He said his Openweight title shot against John Hennigan – that he lost due to The Calling’s attack- will take place next week.

Raven and The Calling then brought Mandy Leon to life in an ominous pre-taped video package. Leon was motionless wrapped in a plastic sheet, but after a kiss to her forehead, Leon’s eyes popped open.

Sam Adonis (w/ John Hennigan) defeated Willie Mack

After being part of the party that screwed Mack out of an Openweight title win against Hennigan last week, Adonis faced the revenge-minded Mack this week.

Adonis got on the mic before the match to rile up the New York crowd, but Mack had his own words for Adonis and Hennigan, promising to put his boot up both their asses.

Mack moves very impressively for his size. In the early going, he worked up the speed to hit a flying kick to Adonis in the face and vault to the floor. After catching his leg on Adonis’ head during a leapfrog, Mack hit another jumping kick to stay in control.

After a break, Mack pulled Adonis off the top rope as Adonis tried to bring some of his AAA moves into the match. Mack again caught Adonis off guard and rammed his fist into Adonis’ gut as the Azteca Lucha member came off the top.

Mack was selling the earlier leapfrog collision as he could not complete his usual kip-up, struggling to hit his standing moonsault.

Hennigan got knocked off the apron after tripping Mack’s leg behind the referee’s back. But with Mack momentarily distracted, Adonis hit a Death Valley Driver/Air Raid Crash slam and a 450 splash from the top rope to pick up the tainted distraction win.

After the match, Sam Leterna brought out Mance Warner for an interview on the stage, but Adonis and Hennigan quickly interrupted and jumped him. Adonis used a leather strap to choke Warner out over the top rope.

– Ahead of his MLW title match against Alex Hammerstone at Never Say Never, Alex Kane again promised to reveal the money man behind the Bomaye Fight Club at the event. Before that, he also mentioned a cash prize being up for grabs in a “Big Apple Grapple” open challenge.

– Before the main event and after a few failed attempts to cut a promo on Delmi Exo due to technical difficulties, Taya Valkyrie stormed off saying she is leaving MLW because of issues like this.

Delmi Exo defeated Taya Valkyrie (w/ John Hennigan) to win the MLW Women’s Featherweight title

Valkyrie had been playing politics recently to delay this eventual title match, but the ending did not disappoint with Exo picking up the win and the title to end Taya’s one year reign as champion.

Earlier in the night, Exo said there was only one way she wanted to win the title and that was with the Delmi Driver, and she did just that after Hennigan’s constant distractions came back to haunt him and Valkyrie.

After a slow-building start, Valkyrie dropped Exo face-first on the apron and Hennigan added a few sneaky shots as Valkyrie distracted the referee. She slowed the match down again and kept in control as she double foot stomped Exo in the gut.

They exchanged close near falls when Exo hit a cross-legged fisherman suplex and a Pedigree for close calls, followed by Valkyrie hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb for one as well. Similar to the earlier match with Adonis, Hennigan grabbed Exo’s foot from the outside, causing the challenger to switch her focus to him.

The champion then went for a rollup, but Exo countered with her own pinning combination. Exo had Valkyrie pinned, but the referee was distracted by Hennigan on the ring apron.

Valkyrie and Hennigan then accidentally collided on the apron which distracted the champion enough to give Exo the opening to hit her Delmi Driver to win both the match and the Featherweight title.

MLW Fusion results: John Hennigan vs. Willie Mack National Openweight title match

This week’s MLW Fusion was taped in Philadelphia as part of the SuperFight and Battle Riot tapings earlier this year.

After Christian Cole called the Super Series the last two weeks, Matt Striker returned to join the ever-present Joe Dombrowski at the announcers’ table.

The Azteca Lucha faction (John Hennigan, Sam Adonis and Taya Valkyrie) cut a backstage promo. Adonis called out Mance Warner after he eliminated him from the Battle Riot match while Valkyrie laughed at the thought of Delmi Exo coming for her and her Featherweight title. They will face off next week.

Delmi Exo defeated B3CCA

Ahead of the title match next week, B3CCA must have read the writing on the wall as she came out of the blocks early with a combination of dropkicks, strikes and extravagant taunting. She even went as far as to cartwheel handspring into a simple slap which only seemed to fire Exo up.

She kicked B3CCA in the head and dropped her headfirst with a sit-out fisherman’s buster. B3CCA hit a springboard stunner for a close two count and got her in the Muta Lock and a single crab.

However, the number one contender used her smarts to roll and cause B3CCA to miss a top rope moonsault. This gave Exo the opening she needed for her Delmi Driver package piledriver to pick up the win before her big title shot next week.

This was a good short match and another nice showcase for the women’s division.

– The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black) cut a heartfelt, feel-good interview where they spoke out of character about their inspirations (House of Glory and Amazing Red) while we saw true backstage moments from their MLW debut. This felt different and was a very nice package to give the impression they will be in for a strong push soon.

– Sam Leterna interviewed Willie Mack who wasn’t willing to give up any secrets ahead of his Openweight title shot against John Hennigan.

1 Called Manders defeated Yoscifer El

El is an interesting character. Billed from “three to five thousand years ago,” he is a berzerker crossed with a White Walker crossed with Bruiser Brody crossed with a Genghis Khan character. Manders’ character is a bit more straightforward: a country-tough man of the Midwest.

This was a great big hoss fight filled with hard shots and slams with both men using their bodies to ram into each other. As good as it was, it was short-lived as Manders hit El with a big lariat to get the win.

– Ahead of his MLW title match with Alex Hammerstone at Never Say Never on July 8th, Alex Kane was eager to explain of all the injustices he has suffered: being number one in the Battle Riot, his National Openweight championship loss, and being left out of the Opera Cup tournament. He turned it on Court Bauer and told him the Bomaye Fight Club is for the people and he will bring a revolution to wrestling.

At the end of the show, the cameras caught up with Hammerstone who said Kane is talking like he is looking for an excuse and an easy escape for their title match. He thinks Kane is looking for either a cheap cash in or an injury to grant him the win because there is no way he will be a man and step up to a fair one-on-one contest.

– Taya Valkyrie again laughed off Delmi Exo’s chances of beating her next week, making fun of her name and saying she has beaten people all over USA and Mexico and it will be the same next week.

– Timothy Thatcher vs. Tracy Williams was announced for Never Say Never.

MLW National Openweight Champion John Hennigan (w/ Taya Valkyrie) defeated Willie Mack to retain the title

Mack got his shot after he disclosed that he may know the whereabouts of Cesar Duran, blackmailing his way into the match.

Mack put a stop to Hennigan’s early efforts with a massive pounce. Hennigan had to get dirty to get the real advantage where he could then use his array of kicks and strikes to slow Mack down.

After a slap to the face and trying to use Valkyrie as a human shield, Hennigan was on the end of a rampaging Mack who chopped his way into an advantage. But the resourceful Hennigan hit a desperation jawbreaker and a springboard kick to get right back into the match.

Hennigan hit his swinging neckbreaker Moonlight Drive for a close two count as Sam Adonis (at the announcers’ table) speculated that Duran will return in no time and make everything great again in MLW.

Hennigan went to the top rope, but took too long which allowed Mack to crotch him. Mack then joined Hennigan, but the crafty Hennigan was again able to trip him and make him crash to the mat.

The confidence was growing in Hennigan but that came crashing down as well when Mack dodged Starship Pain. Mack then exploded into a comeback with strikes and a red-hot pendulum slam. He then hoisted Hennigan up with ease for a Samoan drop, a kip-up and a standing moonsault for a crowd erupting close two count.

Hennigan slipped behind and struck him with a forearm to the back of the head, but Mack came back with a big pop-up forearm of his own.

Mack had a visual three count after his running step-up kick, but Valkyrie distracted the referee. Hennigan then accidentally kicked Valkyrie off the apron, distracting the referee again. It looked like Adonis was going to interfere and knock Mack out with the belt, but the challenger thwarted the heels’ antics and stunnered Adonis out of the ring.

Mack then hit a pop-up sit-out power bomb for a close two count that got a “this is awesome” chant from the crowd.

The heels still had one trick left up their sleeve. Hennigan kept his title belt in the ring and after a sunset flip, he made the referee get rid of it. As the referee’s back was turned, Valkyrie hit Mack in the back of his head with her title belt to give her man the tainted win and successful title defense.

AEW Dark results: Toni Storm vs. Kiera Hogan

It’s Tuesday and you know what that means: AEW Dark taped several weeks ago in Orlando, Florida, with Excalibur and Taz on commentary.

AR Fox defeated Peter Avalon (5:45)

Fox hit a no hands plancha onto Avalon followed by a leg drop off the top onto a prone Avalon on the apron. Avalon countered a suplex attempt with a small package, then catching Fox with a superkick. Avalon and Fox exchanged chops until Avalon went to the eyes and hit a suplex for a near fall.

Fox escaped a suplex attempt and Avalon missed a moonsault. Fox then hit a pair of unique cutters for a near fall. Avalon hit a death valley driver on the apron and then followed up with a sit-out death valley driver for a near fall. Fox missed a 450 splash, but landed on his feet. Avalon went for a sunset flip, but Fox countered and after a series of counters between Fox and Avalon, Fox got the pinfall in a fun opener.

Willie Mack defeated Serpentico (w/ Luther) (6:32)

Mack delivered some very creative arm drags. Serpentico clipped Mack’s knee when Luther distracted him. Serpentico then worked over his leg which Mack sold well. According to the commentary team, Luther smells like “bologna and ice cream” which I don’t imagine goes well together.

Mack eventually rallied and went for a piledriver, but Serpentico countered by grabbing Mack’s knee. Serpentico hit a senton atomico on Mack’s knee for a near fall. He tried to suplex the much larger Mack, but he blocked it easily. Serpentico tried to come off the top with a crossbody, but Mack muscled him up for a sit-out power bomb. This was a solid match with a good little story. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Mack on the bigger shows.

Leila Grey defeated Ameera (2:19)

Grey got the win with a sit-out Jay Driller in a quick squash.

Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese & Ari Daivari) (w/ Mark Sterling & Josh Woods) defeated Jay Lucas & Terry Yaki (2:46)

Sterling did the ring introductions for Nese and Daivari. In a later interview segment, he confirmed Daivari is a member of both the Varsity Athletes and the Trustbusters. Is either really worth listing on his resume? Daivaria caught Lucas with a superkick and then launched him into a cutter from Nese for the pinfall in another quick squash.

Lee Moriarty defeated Invictus Khash (3:29)

Moriarty locked in a full nelson, but Kash escaped and took him down with an ankle pick. Khash went to pick up Moriarty, but Moriarty locked him in cravat. There was some really good mat wrestling here as you might expect. Moriarty got a nearfall with a sunset flip. Khash went for a cover, but Moriarty caught him with a low blow on the kickout, followed by a leg lariat for the pinfall.

Evil Uno defeated Cezar Bononi (4:41)

Uno hit a high boot on Bononi to start which was no sold. Bononi hit his own big boot to take advantage. Bononi kicked Uno out of his vest for a near fall. Bononi sent him to the floor with a chop and then threw him into the ring steps.

Back in the ring, Bononi hit a double underhook power bomb for a nearfall. Bononi charged into a boot from Uno who sent Bononi headfirst into the turnbuckle, followed by a short arm lariat. Uno used a crisp-looking piledriver for the pinfall.

Toni Storm defeated Kiera Hogan (7:15)

After an initial back and forth flurry from both women, the former AEW Women’s Champion caught Hogan with a hip attack to send her to the floor. Storm dragged Hogan around ringside by the hair and whipped her into the barricades. Back in the ring, Hogan tried to come back but Storm put her down with a forearm.

Storm hit a snap suplex and followed up with a boot for a near fall. Storm locked in a full nelson, but Hogan battled out with elbows. She caught Storm with a hip attack and hit a crossbody for a near fall.

Storm called for a timeout and began selling her ankle. The ref checked on her, but it was all a ruse. When Hogan got too close, Storm sent her into the turnbuckles and hit a spinning DDT for a near fall. Hogan came back with an hangman’s neckbreaker for a near fall. Storm hit a shotgun dropkick to send Hogan in the corner, delivered the hip attack, and the Storm Zero piledriver for the win in a seven-minute match that felt like 20.

John Morrison vs. Willie Mack added to MLW SuperFight

The former John Morrison is set to face off with Willie Mack at MLW’s next set of television tapings.

MLW has announced that John Hennigan vs. Willie Mack will take place at MLW SuperFight on Saturday, February 4. The event is being held at the 2300 Arena In Philadelphia.

MLW is promoting Hennigan vs. Mack as a matchup between two people who grew up in Los Angeles under different circumstances, stating that Mack has always had to fight for everything while Hennigan has enjoyed a life of privilege.

“Partying in the Hills of Hollywood with reality stars, actors, and influencers, John Hennigan has enjoyed a big spotlight and a true rockstar life. Requesting his own locker room and hairdresser, Hennigan has ruffled feathers for his loud, obnoxious entourage, flanking him wherever he turns up,” MLW wrote.

“Meanwhile, Willie Mack comes from the streets where he fights to live and lives to fight.”

Hennigan is the current MLW National Openweight Champion. He defeated Davey Richards for the title at MLW Blood & Thunder earlier this month.

Willie Mack on why he left Impact, his first Triplemania in Mexico City

Minutes following his match at this month’s AAA Triplemania in Mexico City, I talked with Willie Mack on what he thought about the bout and why he is no longer in Impact Wrestling.

Impact

Mack had signed with Impact in 2018 and in May, he announced that after four years, he was leaving. During his time there, he was the X-Division Champion and won the company’s One to Watch in 2020 award in their 2019 year-end awards.

Mack informed me his decision was “first and foremost a money thing,” later adding “They promised one thing and I said, ‘You know what? I am not accepting that.'”

That led Mack to return to where he first began: the indies.

“Even though it’s a tough grind, at least I am having fun and getting to travel and seeing people I hadn’t seen in years.”

He said he is bummed about how things went down at Impact and even said some of his friends were trying to talk him out of leaving. But, Mack insisted this was something he had to do: go out and prove himself.

“I see them every now and then, but hopefully if anything changes in the future. I might be back. But, who knows? It’s wrestling.”

Mack also explained that he likes having the freedom to handle his own bookings and his own schedule and that it’s good to be able to do your own thing.

Leaving Impact has not slowed him down and that his schedule was keeping him both busy and booked with “little time to chill in-between.”

“This is how I pay my bills and so I gotta get my ass out of bed and do something.”

Triplemania XXX

Mack has worked for AAA in the past, dating back to 2019, continuing in 2021 and then several more this year. While he took part in AAA Triplemania Regia II, this was his first Triplemania in Mexico City.

“I’ve been hunting down people for so long saying I want to be on Triplemania, even when I first started wrestling.”

Mack said that getting to be part of the company’s thirty year anniversary show was “something special” and he was “glad to be part of it.”

Mack will soon be making his debut for GCW as part of Hit ‘Em Up this Saturday in Los Angeles, California.

Calvin Tankman vs. Willie Mack set for MLW Fightland

MLW has announced its first match for Fightland 2022.

One-half of the MLW Tag Team Champions, Calvin Tankman, will face Willie Mack in singles competition.

“When we announced Willie was coming to MLW, we saw a wave of requests for this match, and what the fans want, they get,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “Styles make fights and both men can rumble on their feet and in the air, which makes this one hell of a throwdown.”

It will be Mack’s second match with the promotion after having made his debut last month in El Paso, Texas.

MLW Fightland takes place Sunday, October 30 from Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena. The event will be filmed for future episodes of Fusion.

Other talent advertised to appear include MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Hammerstone, MLW World Women’s Featherweight Champion Taya Valkyrie, Jacob Fatu & The Samoan SWAT Team, Mance Warner, Alex Kane & The BOMAYE Fight Club, EJ Nduka, and Shun Skywalker.

Willie Mack becomes free agent as Impact Wrestling contract expires

This post was updated at 8:30 PM Eastern.

Willie Mack took to social media Friday to declare that he is now a free agent after his Impact Wrestling contract expired and he declined their offer for him to return.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Mack is no longer there as his contract called for “a huge increase and Impact didn’t want to pay it.”

Mack is now accepting indie dates. He will take on Jeff Cobb on next Sunday’s New Japan Strong TV taping in Philadelphia.

The 35-year-old has been in wrestling since 2006, mainly working indies including PWG and NWA Championship Wrestling. His first “home” was Lucha Underground where as The Mack, he won the Trios titles and held them for nearly two years with Killshot (Swerve Strickland), Dante Fox (AR Fox), and Son of Havoc (Matt Cross) as partners.

Mack made his debut in Impact in 2018 with six matches that year. That continued in 2019 through 2021 as he worked more than 30 matches a year for Impact in addition to other indies.

He won the X-Division title in April 2020 and had three defenses before losing the title to Chris Bey at Slammiversary that year.

Mack wrestled eight times for Impact this year with his final match airing Thursday as he teamed with Rich Swann against Bullet Club’s Jay White and Chris Bey.

The Good Brothers win Impact Tag Team titles at Slammiversary

New Impact Tag Team Champions were crowned at tonight’s Slammiversary event.

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows) defeated champions Violent by Design (Rhino and Doering), Fallah Bahh and the debuting No Way (formerly No Way Jose in WWE), and the team of Rich Swann and Willle Mack in a four-way match. The finish had Rhino setting up for the gore, but Anderson hit a cutter, then Gallows came in as the two hit the Magic Killer, giving Good Brothers the win and the titles for a second time.

Violent by Design had been champions since the Impact that aired on May 17, when they defeated Finjuice to win the titles. They defended the titles under the Freebird rule, giving Rhino, Joe Doering, and Deaner their first Tag Team title win and Eric Young his third.

No Way was a surprise tag team partner for Fallah Bahh. It was announced prior to Slammiversary that TJP, Bahh’s tag team partner, would be unable to make it to the show.

The other tag team titles in Impact, the Knockouts Tag Team titles, also changed hands. The Decay’s Rosemary and Havok defeated Fire ‘n’ Flava (Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan) to win the titles during the pre-show prior to Slammiversary.

Big Cass appears at Impact Rebellion, replaces Eric Young

Big Cass appeared on tonight’s Impact Rebellion event under a new name, filling in for Eric Young.

Cass appeared at Rebellion under the name W. Morrissey. He replaced Eric Young in a match where he teamed up with the rest of Violent by Design (Joe Doering, Rhino, and Deaner) to take on James Storm, Chris Sabin, Willie Mack, and Eddie Edwards. Morrisey picked up the win for his team, pinning Mack after hitting the East River Crossing. After the match, Morrissey continued to attack Mack as the rest of Violent by Design posed on the entrance ramp.

Right before the match, Young said in a backstage segment he was injured and unable to compete tonight. He told someone off-camera that they were not ready for the truth, or to join Violent by Design, but they were ready for the opportunity to show who they are.

Cass has been making appearances in the independent scene since February. He had disappeared from pro wrestling following an altercation at a WrestlePro show in September 2019 where he was kicked out of the building after an altercation with Joey Janela backstage.

Eight-man tag match announced for Impact Wrestling

An eight-man tag match is set for Impact Wrestling’s No Surrender go-home show.

The match involves the eight participants who will be taking part in the first-ever “Triple Threat Revolver match” at No Surrender.

Impact noted that the Triple Threat Revolver match “will be a revolving series of Triple Threat matches – three men begin, when somebody is pinned or submitted another man enters. When we get down to the final three, whoever scores the fall is the winner.” The winner will become the number one contender to the X-Division Championship.

TJP currently holds the X-Division Championship and is defending the title against Rohit Raju at No Surrender. No Surrender will air on Impact Plus on Saturday, February 13.

Impact Wrestling results: Willie Mack vs. Chris Bey

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for this week’s episode.

Opening video recapped the conclusion of the John E. Bravo investigation and trial, Rich Swann defending the title against Ken Shamrock, and the consequent attack on Eddie Edwards by Callihan and Shamrock.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D)

About a month ago, XXXL re-injured Alex Shelley as a statement that they were serious about chasing the tag team titles. Last week, Shelley announced that he was cleared to wrestle and they are here for revenge.

Good speed vs. power match. MCMGs had early advantage, displaying their tag team proficiency. All good action. XXXL cut off Shelley and worked over him for a couple of minutes before Sabin got the hot tag. Last few minutes were great, with both teams getting a chance to hit their double team moves. MCMGs hit skulls and bones for the win.

Shelley and Sabin could either go back to the tag title scene, or keep feuding with XXXL, who shouldn’t be happy about this loss.

– Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card.

– We saw Sami Callihan and Ken Shamrock arrive at the arena, but Scott D’Amore and security were there to greet them. D’Amore told Shamrock that he was suspended for attacking an official last week when he took out D’Lo Brown.

– Backstage, John E. Bravo confronted Larry D about shooting him. D attacked Bravo, but Tommy Dreamer jumped in to break it up. Dreamer tried to get Larry D to deal with the Bravo situation. Instead, D took out Dreamer.

Jordynne Grace & Jazz defeated Killer Kelly & Renee Michelle in a Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament first round match.

Renee Michelle is making her in-ring debut tonight, while we saw Killer Kelly take a loss last week against Kimber Lee. Likewise, Jazz made her return last week announcing that she was teaming up with Grace on the tournament. Michelle and Killer Kelly look like stars.

The match initially gave us a promising tease of a Grace vs. Killer Kelly match. Jazz was portrayed as a total dominant force when paired up with Michelle.

Match saw a basic formula with Grace getting cut off from her corner, being worked on until she made a short comeback to tag in Jazz, who came in and ran wild against the competition. Finish saw Michelle save Killer Kelly from getting pinned after a Grace driver, only for her to tag in and take an X-Factor by Jazz for the pin. Ok match. While a bit slower than the others, Jazz looked good in the ring.

Jazz and Jordynne Grace advance in the tournament and will be wrestling Havok and Neveah in the semi finals.

– Impact+ flashback moment of the week was the Motor City Machine Guns vs. Generation Me in a Full Metal Mayhem match from Final Resolution 2010.

– Ethan Page cut a promo saying that everyone likes messing with him and accepted that he was the one that took out Doc Gallows. He challenged Karl Anderson to a match at Final Resolution, and if he wins, he and Josh Alexander get a shot at the tag titles. Good promo.

– Somewhere backstage, Alisha Edwards was waiting for Sami Callihan. Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K were there trying to talk to her, but Edwards had her focus on Callihan, who she attacked as soon as he walked by. Edwards was pulled off by security while Dashwood and Kaleb walked away.

Johnny Swinger vs Cody Deaner (with Cousin Jake) ended in a no contest

This was your weekly midcard match that got interrupted by Eric Young and Joe Doering. Swinger tried to make friends with Doering, but was still taken out. Young said that they will continue this until ‘we’ learn that this world belongs to them. I really don’t know what he’s talking about.

– Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee approached Father James Mitchell to ask if he had already taken care of Su Yung. Mitchell said that these things take time and that he didn’t even know where Su Yung was, to which Purrazzo said she knew how to find her.

– Backstage, the Deaners talked in the locker room about having to do something about EY and Doering. Cody Deaner said this wasn’t a ‘we’ problem, he was the one that had to do something about EY  next week.

– Purrazzo and  Lee came down to the ring and called out Su Yung to come down to the ring if she wanted her contractual rematch. The trap was set and when she got to the ring, out came Father James Mitchell.

Mitchell cut a promo on Yung, saying that she had been a thorn in his side for too long. Tonight, she’d pay for her sins. Mitchell summoned Yung’s bridesmaids, who surrounded the ring. Purrazzo and Lee couldn’t wait and attacked Su Yung, leaving her for the bridesmaids to take her away.

– Moose approached Chris Bey about Bey’s tactics to get himself a World title match. Moose told Bey that if he were to win, Moose would take the title from him.

– Gia Miller interviewed Karl Anderson about Ethan Page’s challenge. Anderson accepted the match because he was out there to take revenge for what he did to Gallows.

X Division Champion Rohit Raju defeated Crazzy Steve to retain the title

Crazzy Steve won himself a title shot against Raju last week when he fought under the Suicide mask and got a quick roll-up after a distraction from TJP.

Match was a clash of styles, where Raju had a lot of trouble countering Steve’s unorthodox style until he managed to cut him off and keep him down with constant kicks and knees, focusing on Steve’s arm. Eventually, Steve powered up and made a comeback, getting a decent near fall with a Koji clutch. Soon after, Raju scored a roll-up and grabbed the ropes for the win. This was surprisingly good for Crazzy Steve.

– Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz revealed that they still had Hernandez’s money. Fallah Bahh approached them about this. When Hogan and Steelz tried to pretend they didn’t, Bahh said he went back and watched the show, and so Hogan and Steelz had to accept they had indeed stolen the money.

They said they didn’t have the money, but that they’d give it to him next week. I hope we are done with this story.

– TJP approached Crazzy Steve and once again, Brian Myers walked by and made fun of them. TJP challenged Myers to a match next week.

– Matthews and Rayne announced next week’s matches, including Eric Young vs. Cody Deaner, Brain Myers vs. TJP, Josh Alexander vs. Chris Sabin, and Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee vs. Taya and Rosemary in the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament.

Willie Mack defeated Chris Bey

In the last couple of weeks, Chris Bey has been trying to get a title shot from Rich Swann, and last week, he happened to talk trash to Willie Mack, which led to this match.

Bey worked over Mack’s leg after he caught him with a low dropkick while Mack was in between the ropes on the apron. Bey dominated most of the match, with the exception of a couple of small comebacks that Mack initiated. The finish, which came out of nowhere, saw Bey go for his finish but Mack blocked, hit a pop-up forearm and landed the stunner for the win. Good match, mostly because of Bey. Seems like a really bad decision to pin Bey right before he goes and challenges for the title.

After the match, Moose came in and hit the lights out on Mack, which brought out Rich Swann, who ran off Moose. Out of nowhere, Chris Bey jumped in with the art of finesse and took out Swann. Bey posed with the title as the show went off the air.

Final thoughts —

Okay show, it went by fast. Most of the storyline developments were to build Final Resolution.

X-Division title match announced for Impact Bound for Glory

A six-way scramble match for the X Division title has been added to Bound for Glory.

On tonight’s Impact, Rohit Raju came out and said he would defend his X-Division title. Willie Mack came out to accept Raju’s challenge, but Raju said that he had already defeated him at Victory Road this past weekend and wanted new competition.

Jordynne Grace then came out to challenge Raju. Grace rolled up Raju with an O’Connor Roll to win while Raju was arguing with the referee, refusing to give him the title. Grace thought that she had won the title, but the referee announced since he was not given the title to raise, the title was not officially on the line.

Backstage, Scott D’Amore congratulated Raju on “giving everyone opportunities”. He said at Bound for Glory, he would defend the title against Mack, Grace, TJP, Chris Bey and Trey Miguel.

Other matches announced for Bound for Glory, which takes place on October 24, include Eric Young vs. Rich Swann for the Impact World title, Deonna Purrazzo vs. Kylie Rae for the Knockouts title, and The Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Good Brothers vs. The North vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton in a fatal four way tag match for the Impact Tag Team titles.
