World title match announced for ROH Supercard of Honor

Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido will defend the title against Blake Christian at next month’s ROH Supercard of Honor.

The 31-year-old will be trying for his ninth successful title defense since winning the championship at April 2025’s AEW Dynasty. However, it will be his first defense in five months since last December’s ROH Final Battle.

Christian is in search of his first ROH title of any kind.

The two have shared the ring six times through the years with two singles matches, but none of those taking place in either AEW or ROH.

Will Ospreay return match booked for AEW Dynamite

Will Ospreay is returning to the ring this Wednesday.

Tony Khan announced on social media that Ospreay will be taking on Blake Christian. This will be Ospreay’s first match since Forbidden Door last summer when in storyline he was injured by Jon Moxley and the Death Riders, who isolated and assaulted him while inside a steel cage. In reality, he took time off to undergo neck surgery.

“After captivating the wrestling world returning at #AEWRevolution Sunday night and targeting @JonMoxley, Will Ospreay will return to the ring vs Blake Christian TOMORROW!,” Khan wrote.

“Back at it again this Wednesday!!!,” Ospreay wrote in response to the match on social media.

Ospreay made his return at Revolution after Jon Moxley had successfully retained the Continental title over Konosuke Takeshita. Ospreay and Moxley immediately brawled but the rest of the Death Riders got involved. Despite this, Ospreay laid out everyone and stood tall, sending the faction reeling.

Tony Khan announces Blake Christian is All Elite

Blake Christian is All Elite.

Following AEW Collision on Saturday night in Tucson, where Christian and his tag partner Lee Johnson participated in the $200,000 four-way tag team match, Tony Khan posted to social media that Christian is officially All Elite.

Khan wrote:

“The Swirl, Vanilla Baby Blake Christian + @BigShottyLee, had another excellent showing on Saturday #AEWCollision tonight, and now it’s official: @_BlakeChristian is All Elite!”

The other member of The Swirl, Lee Johnson, received his All Elite graphic from AEW back in February 2021. Johnson is listed on the All Elite Wrestling roster page, while Christian does not currently have a profile on the page.

In addition to their recent matches on AEW programming, The Swirl are active in Ring of Honor, where they have aligned with Jay Lethal.

Christian had a brief run in WWE as Trey Baxter in 2021. He was released from the company that November and made his AEW debut on an episode of Dark the following March.

AEW Dynamite live results: Kenny Omega vs. Blake Christian

The build to AEW Dynasty continues on tonight’s Dynamite.

Before his three-way International title defense at Dynasty, Kenny Omega will be in action on tonight’s show against Blake Christian in a non-title match. Omega defends against Mike Bailey and Ricochet in a three-way at the Dynasty pay-per-view set for April 6 in Philadelphia.

AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm teams with Thunder Rosa on the show against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. Storm will defend her title against Bayne at Dynasty.

After being recruited by MVP two weeks ago, MJF will give his answer to The Hurt Syndicate as to whether or not he will join the group on tonight’s episode.

The Rated FTR trio of Cope, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler will have a sit-down interview with Tony Schiavone on the show.

Three more singles matches are also announced, with Kyle Fletcher vs. Brody King, Konosuke Takeshita vs. Mark Brisoce, plus Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Mark Davis.

AEW Dynamite comes on the air with a Minecraft inspired intro video package and LED boards in partnership with the movie releasing on April 4. Excalibur welcomes us alongside Taz & Tony Schiavone as they throw it to the opening contest of the evening, Kenny Omega vs. Blake Christian. They show highlights of Christian during his time in Ring of Honor, as well as Zero Hour last month at Revolution. Omega is out to his Battle Cry theme this week.

AEW International Champion Kenny Omega defeated Blake Christian (w/Lee Johnson)

(Straight up statement victory for Omega here, as Christian got in a few shots, but once Omega got going, he wasn’t going to be stopped. The post-match was kept simple, as Speedball Bailey will put aside the respect he has to win the title, Omega is about legacy and Ricochet (congratulations on getting married) is about the gold and the girl.)

Omega fired off headlock takedowns in the early going, but Christian responded with his agility, kipping up and flipping Omega off. Series of chops and high stack back suplex from Omega, but Christian used his speed for a dropkick, mocking the Omega gun pose before gouging the eyes and hitting a spear on the apron. Christian connected with an inverted tope before heading back inside, tried a handspring elbow, but Omega got a pump knee. Johnson ate a right hand on the apron, as Omega hit Christian with multiple Snap Dragons and leg trapped neckbreaker on the knee. V-Trigger lands flush followed by a One-Winged Angel to win it.

Post-match, Omega took the mic and said it’s unfortunate that he can’t wrestle every week like he’d like to, but promised them he’d make it quick tonight, so Tony Khan had no choice but to sign on the dotted line to let him wrestle. Omega said it’ll be a lot longer of a battle at Dynasty when he faces Ricochet & newcomer Speedball Bailey. Right on cue, Bailey’s music hits and he comes to the ring to a solid ovation. Bailey congratulated Omega on the win, saying he’s an inspiration, he admires Omega as a person and champion, but come Dynasty, he won’t hold back or hesitate to kick his head clean off and take the International Title. Crowd booed this and Bailey played into it, when Ricochet interrupted on the screen.

As much as he’d like to be there in person, fortunately for everyone, today is his wedding, the best day of his life, until April 6th, when he beats Cornball and the former Best Bout Machine to become International Champion. Ricochet said continue to argue about the inevitable, as he’ll leave Dynasty with the gold and the girl.

Omega said congratulations are in order, but Dynasty isn’t about making friends, he has a cat, he doesn’t need anymore friends. As big of a piece of garbage as Ricochet is, Bailey isn’t Omega’s friend, as there’s only one thing Omega has time for, his legacy, the International Title. Omega said both Bailey & Ricochet are both stepping stones and bids the crowd adieu and Goodbye & Goodnight, bang!

-Footage of Bandido regaining his brother Gravity’s mask on Collision was shown, as was the young kid who flipped Chris Jericho off. We go to The Learning Tree backstage, as Jericho said it’s time for all the masks to be removed. Jericho said Big Bill & Bryan Keith have been under the branches of the Learning Tree so long, without using the wisdom bestowed upon them. Jericho questions if they believe it’s still worth it being associated with him, if so, prove it to him. Bill & Keith walk off as Jericho congratulates Bandido on getting Gravity’s mask back, but he didn’t want Gravity’s, he wants Bandido’s. Jericho challenges Bandido to a Title vs. Mask at Dynasty. Is it worth the sacrifice to possibly make Bandido’s mother cry again? He thinks it is and he’ll see him at Dynasty.

MJF Answers MVP

MJF came to the ring, chucked his gum into the crowd and immediately took a shot at Prince and their Minnesotan accent before telling them to shut the hell up. MJF took out the MVP business card and invited MVP to the ring to talk, as he’s been looking at this card for two weeks. Loud chants for MVP and “We Hurt People” as MJF said we can all agree MVP is a legend in the sport of wrestling and compliments the new cane. After everything that happened between MJF & Adam Cole, he promised that he’d never do the “friends” thing again, but there’s something he noticed about Montel, is that he doesn’t do friends either, he does business. MJF said his decision is he’d like to be in the business of hurting people. MJF offers his hand out, but before MVP can shake it, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin come to the ring, as Benjamin especially gets a loud ovation from the Minnesota crowd.

Face-off between Lashley & MJF before Lashley offers his hand, asking for the business card. Lashley hands MVP his Tag Team Title and rips up the card before putting a fist up to MJF’s face. MJF told MVP he thought they were cool, as MVP holds back Lashley & Benjamin, as MJF bails to the back.

Bryan Keith & Big Bill interrupt and said don’t worry, they aren’t out to join their group therapy session, they have real business to address. MVP told Bill to get his bitch on a leash, as Bill said he sees the Tag Team Titles, but doesn’t see a challenger, as MVP hilariously said neither did he. Bill said he can’t tell if MVP is American Psycho or Iceberg Slim are you a pimp or business man? MVP said he’s a little bit of both, so he’s about to have his boys look like bitches. Big Bill said MVP is the MVP of being The Hurt Syndicate’s bitch and said he never lost the Tag Team Titles, as when he held the titles, Sting beat his partner and retired, so he never got a rematch. MVP said why don’t they actually win a match and then they might get an opportunity to fight for the titles. Lashley & Bill had a face-off before The Hurt Syndicate walked off.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Timeless Toni Storm & Thunder Rosa, bringing up the main event tonight and them teaming 3 years ago, as Storm said not much has changed since then, but Rosa reminded her so much has changed. Storm has a butler now and last time, Storm tried to knock her out. Storm said you make mistakes in the heat of passion. Rosa wants what she never lost and Storm said enough of this gay banter, Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford, you’re about to be double teamed like you never dreamed. Rosa said tonight you meet the team of, Storm interrupted Thunder Tits! Rosa had to remind her it’s Thunder Storm, but Storm said not anymore, it’s not. This got a chant from the crowd, as this segment was hilarious. Paquette was barely able to keep it together.

Kyle Fletcher (w/Don Callis) defeated Brody King

(I was happy not just by the amount of time this match got, but how the crowd was really behind King, even in defeat. It’s the result you’d expect with the Callis Family cheating their way to victory, but King put up a great fight and I’d love to see this happen again eventually. Regardless of how he got it, this was a good way to get Fletcher back in the win column following Revolution.)

Fletcher charged with offense immediately, but he ripped off his pants like he’s channeling Taichi, which gave King time to recover. Callis tried to yell at his client to turn around and when he did, King leveled him with chops, a scoop slam and running senton. For some reason, Fletcher tried chopping back and was flattened as a result. Wisely switching it up, a running leg lariat hit, but King caught a boot and sent Fletcher over the top to the floor with a clothesline as things went to commercial.

King controlled most of the break, but was eventually sent into the commentary table, allowing Fletcher to be in the driver’s seat when things returned. Both trade shots, until Fletcher dodged multiple lariats, but was dropped by a Boss Man Slam for the double down. Fletcher was sent outside, as King followed out with a big Tope Suicida. Placed on a chair, King wanted a cross body against the barricade, Fletcher leaped off the steps and ultimately posted King, hit a PK and Tope Suicida of his own. Fletcher wanted the count-out, but King broke the count at 8. Fletcher quickly up top for a Macho Man elbow drop for two. Fletcher wanted a brainbuster, but King reversed into an Exploder into the corner. To the apron both go, as King wanted a piledriver, Fletcher escaped with thrust kicks, but King hit a DVD on the edge of the ring, as we go to our second break.

Slugfest when things return, as they trade thrust kicks and rolling elbows that leave King standing tall. Short lariat led to a Gonzo Bomb attempt, but Fletcher slid out, took out the knee and hit a stalling Tombstone for a close two. Fletcher went for a corner charge, but King turned him inside out with a lariat. Both stumble to their feet, as King gets a splash, but Callis took the official, allowing Mark Davis to show up and save Fletcher from a cannonball. King tried to fight his way out of the corner, but Davis ran distraction, as Fletcher gouged the eyes and hit his top rope Brainbuster for the win.

Post-match, Callis shook Davis’ hand as Aussie Open put the boots to King until Powerhouse Hobbs’ music hit. Excalibur said the Davis/Hobbs match shouldn’t be until later in the show, as Hobbs entered through the crowd and attacked Davis & Fletcher from behind as King hit a clothesline, sending Fletcher & himself to the floor, as we’re told Davis & Hobbs is happening, next.

**********

Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Mark Davis (w/Don Callis)

We’re told it was chaos during the break, as security, referees and Christopher Daniels were separating Hobbs & Davis, as Callis joined commentary and said Hobbs should be arrested. Davis & Hobbs tossed the security from the ring, as the bell sounded to each trading clubbing blows, as Davis hit a suplex, Hobbs no sold and hit one of his own. Callis said he replaced Hobbs in the Family because he’s bigger, stronger and tougher. Davis hit a brutal sliding forearm to the face in the corner, but Hobbs hit a backdrop off a piledriver attempt, followed by a snap powerslam. Hobbs lowered the straps, hit corner clotheslines to the sound of Meat chants, but both were on different pages, as I think Hobbs went for his Spinebuster right as Davis went for an enzugiri, causing both to fall down. They recovered, Davis hit the enzugiri, but ran right into a Spinebuster to give Hobbs the rather quick win.

-Lexy Nair is backstage with The Patriarchy minus Christian Cage, as she asks what is going on with Nick Wayne? Nick said things are finally making sense to why Cage did what he did at Revolution, but he’ll address Cage when he’s there with him face to face. Last week was how you properly execute a plan, glaring at Kip Sabian, as did Mother Wayne, as they walked off, with Sabian eventually following.

**********

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Hangman Adam Page, as she mentioned Page entering the Owen Hart Tournament last week. Swerve Strickland charged in and asked if he heard Page saying he’d get into his business with the AEW World Title? Page said bitch, did I stutter? Prince Nana came in and had to pull Strickland away.

Rated FTR Sit-Down Interview

Tony Schiavone is sitting down with all parties earlier today saying they are all basically next door neighbors and Cope is responsible for some of the biggest breaks in FTR’s career. Dax Harwood interrupts and apologizes, saying their goal was always AEW Tag Team Titles, but after four months of helping Cope, who failed twice…Cope interrupted and said he’s making it seem like he kept them from the Tag Titles, but that wasn’t his intention, he helped them, as Death Riders tried attacking them and put bags over their heads. Harwood said they were directionless for four months, as Cash Wheeler said everyone knows he & Harwood are best friends, but not many know what Cope has done for him. When Wheeler was struggling, living in his car, Cope gave him a place to live without worries. Harwood again apologized, saying he took things too far last week, but said they helped Cope go for his goals, but their goal is the Tag Titles and went to call out the Hurt Syndicate, but Wheeler cut him off, saying he still wants to go for the Trios Titles. Cope agrees and if there’s juice left in the tank, let’s do it and challenges Death Riders to the Trios Titles at Dynasty. Harwood agrees and says Top Guys, Out. Cope interrupts and says Rated FTR, Out. Harwood agrees once more to end the segment.

I think we all know where this story is going.

Swerve Strickland Calls Out Jon Moxley

Massive ovation and chants for Prince Nana & Strickland, who said he’s here not to call out the Death Riders, but Jon Moxley and said he better have the balls to look at him eye to eye. Moxley’s music hits and he walks out from the crowd, alone. Nana goes to the floor, leaving Moxley & Strickland alone, as Strickland said he’s been allowing this to go on for far too long. People have asked why Strickland hasn’t lent a hand to fight the Death Riders and asks what happened to Moxley, he used to be revered, respect, he went hand in hand with the AEW World Title. Now, Moxley hides behind Claudio, PAC, Yuta & Marina Shafir and has the nerve to say no one wants to be World Champion, but Moxley doesn’t have the nerve to be Champion himself, which is the reason why Moxley hides the AEW World Title, he can’t stand to look at himself in the mirror holding it anymore. Strickland asks Moxley how his back is doing and said everything Moxley used to describe himself as, is looking at him right now.

Claudio Castagnoli appears behind Prince Nana, as Strickland turned and glared, but Moxley called him off. Moxley said it’s not about himself at Dynasty, it’s about Strickland and questions who and what he is, really? Moxley knows exactly who Strickland is and what he could be, as he had high hopes for Strickland, but on April 6th, he’ll let Strickland be everything he thinks he could be. How far is Strickland willing to go, when you’re in pain and tired, the world bearing down on your shoulders and everyone gunning for you, will you endure or will you look for a way out and take others with you? Moxley said Strickland hasn’t suffered enough yet, but he will at Dynasty. Moxley’s sport has taken over by billionaires, Hollywood talent agencies and kids who sees the world through a filter, but guys like Strickland gives Moxley hope for the future, making him believe what he put his body through was for a reason. Moxley said he’s going to make Strickland work for it, he’s not about handouts and he’s will to go right now. Moxley said it shouldn’t be a problem, as Strickland is “The Most Dangerous Man in AEW”.

Marina Shafir charged to the ring and got on the apron with a crowbar, but Willow Nightingale soon joined her with a pipe. Strickland said Moxley is finally facing someone who is smarter than he is. Moxley bled pints, Strickland bled buckets. Moxley fought in Texas Death Matches, while Strickland won them. Strickland will continue to lead the Dynasty era, letting him continue to play Jon Moxley on TV. Moxley called off Castagnoli & Shafir, as they all retreat through the crowd, with Shafir being visibly pissed, so she came back and swept Nightingale off the apron as the ladies slugged it out. Castagnoli carried Shafir away, as Nana tried his hardest to hold back Nightingale. There was a brief face-off between Nightingale & Moxley, which was pretty great, not going to lie.

-Katsuyori Shibata had apparently gotten a camera and was filming Samoa Joe & HOOK, who are walking backstage where Joe asked why HOOK held onto REDRUM a little too long on Max Caster on Collision? HOOK said he’s fun to choke out, as they walked up on Caster talking to Top Flight & AR Fox, trying to get his chant going to them. Caster noticed Shibata and the camera, as Joe choked him out, agreeing it is fun. The Opps shook Top Flight & Fox’s hands as HOOK told the camera “til the death.”

**********

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Switchblade Jay White, who officially enters the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Last year, it didn’t work out so well for White, who lost to Page thanks to Christian Cage and got hurt for months in the process. Before we get to the tournament, how about one of the original Collision Cowboys return this Saturday Night and issues an Open Challenge.

Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin w/AR Fox) defeated Alex Findley and Devo Knight

Action Andretti & Lio Rush are seated in the front row watching on, as Big Bill & Bryan Keith were shown watching backstage. Darius hit almost a Spear into a Manhattan Drop on Findley really tweaking his knee in the process. Dante tagged in, corner enzugiri and big top rope cross body. Shotgun dropkick into a release German Suplex, as Darius hit almost a Muscle Buster before Darius hit a massive Frog Splash for the win.

We’re told Bill & Keith vs. Top Flight is official for Collision.

-Video package for Will Ospreay is shown saying it’s time for him to lead AEW into a new generation. When you hear this is where the best wrestle, it’s where Billy wrestles and it’s time to restore the feeling. Ospreay will be live on Dynamite next week.

Konosuke Takeshita (w/Don Callis) defeated Mark Briscoe

(This was a damn fine battle, as I could watch these two wrestle each other in some capacity every week. Having three matches on the show tonight, The Callis Family went 2-1 with one clean win and one tainted victory. So a little bit of everything tonight from the Callis crew, who I’m glad are looking strong, despite not currently challenging for titles.)

Callis again joins commentary and said, despite being a degenerate, Briscoe is a fantastic wrestler. Early enzugiri from Briscoe and thrust chop in the corner led to a rolling Death Valley Driver, went up top, but Takeshita cut him off and hit a massive superplex for two. Both trade corner charges with forearms, as Briscoe sent Takeshita over the top with a clothesline, geared up for a dive, but Takeshita quickly recovered, came back to the ring and hit a big boot. They go to the apron, where Takeshita spiked Briscoe with a DDT as things went to break.

When things returned, Briscoe was biting the forehead of Takeshita to fight out of the corner, allowing him to get back into things. Flying forearm led to palm strikes in the corner from Briscoe, as he dragged Takeshita to the floor, this time hitting a baseball slide, somersault senton off the apron and cannonball Suicida. Briscoe ran the barricade and hit a diving elbow before going back inside, looking for a Froggy Bow, but missed. Takeshita hit a wild release German, but Briscoe no sold and turned Takeshita inside out with a lariat for two. Callis left commentary to cheer Takeshita on, as Briscoe wanted a Jay Driller, but Takeshtia spun out into a forearm battle. Both went for home run shots, traded Exploders four times until Takeshita exploded with the charging knee for two of his own. Takeshita missed a home run lariat, as Briscoe hit the Jay Driller, but Takeshita got his foot on the ropes. Briscoe wanted the Cutthroat Driver, but Takeshita wiggled free, hit the rolling elbow and Raging Fire for the victory.

-We go backstage to the AEW Trios Champions, Death Riders, as Yuta said he already hates FTR’s guts, while Cope tried to rip him from his family, but his family is much stronger than Cope’s. Castagnoli said when the going gets tough, you start throwing hissy fits. PAC said it’s their arrogance they find it so hard to stomach. It’s Rated FTR who has the audacity to challenge them? That’s not how things work around here, they challenge Rated FTR to survive the Death Riders at Dynasty.

**********

-Alicia Atout approaches The Hurt Syndicate backstage and asks if MJF is in or out? MVP politely asks her to step aside, as Lashley questions why MVP would invite MJF into their group? MVP says last week he told Lashley & Benjamin to take some time off, something MVP never has, as they always talked about getting a 4th man. Lashley said MJF is so grimey, but MVP said he likes that quality, but if they don’t want him in the crew, it’s something they can revisit, but now, they need to focus on this Big Bill situation.

Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford defeated AEW Women’s Champion Timeless Toni Storm (w/Luther) & Thunder Rosa

(You couldn’t have made Bayne look stronger than they have the last few weeks and have done a great job building her into a legit threat to win the Women’s Title. The reaction Storm gave in the post-match was great, as everything she attempted didn’t have much effect at all, making her have to regroup big time if she wants to retain her title come Dynasty.)

Excalibur was upset Justin Roberts didn’t use the name Storm suggested they went by earlier in the show. There’s actually a Thunder Tits sign in the front row, as Bayne didn’t budge from an early Rosa shoulder block and hit a spinning body slam. Bayne turned her back and posed, as Storm tagged in, but so did Ford. Shoulder tackle from Ford, who followed with a springboard arm drag, seemed to deck Storm with a shining wizard, but Storm I think was supposed to duck it, as she no sold and tagged back in Rosa to double team Ford. Rosa sprung off Storm’s back for a shotgun dropkick on Ford for two as things went to break.

Ford & Bayne controlled Rosa the entire commercial, as Ford decked Storm off the apron before hitting her handspring back elbow on Rosa, licking her face in the process. Rosa & Ford slug it out until they collide with a double clothesline. Storm & Bayne tag in and finally collide, but Bayne no sold clotheslines. Bayne missed a sledgehammer, allowing Storm to clothesline her to the floor, but landed on her feet and pulled out Storm. After being sent into the steps, Storm hit a Tornado DDT, but rolled back into the ring, where Ford met her with a Matrix Cutter. Rosa returned with a Death Valley Driver on Ford, as Bayne was back, laid out Rosa with Fate’s Decent, but Storm came back in to fight her off.

Leg sweep in the corner led to Sweet Cheek Music, but Bayne no sold and Storm couldn’t believe it. Ford got a waist lock, but Storm moved and Bayne hit her partner with a pump kick. Storm charged at Bayne, but was dropped with Fate’s Decent to give Bayne the clean pin on the Women’s Champ. Ford celebrated with Bayne, as Rosa tended to Storm, who was left looking spooked that everything she threw at Bayne had no effect.

Kenny Omega vs. Blake Christian, FTR sit-down interview set for AEW Dynamite

Kenny Omega is set for action this Wednesday on Dynamite.

On Sunday’s Collision, it was announced that Kenny Omega will take on Blake Christian. It will be his first match since Revolution, when he defeated Konosuke Takeshita for the International title. He will next defend the title against Speedball Mike Bailey and Ricochet in a three-way match at AEW Dynasty on April 6.

FTR will sit down with Tony Schiavone. Recent weeks have seen Dax Harwood rebuff The Undisputed Kingdom for a handshake after wrestling them twice on recent episodes of AEW Collision. After Jon Moxley defeated Adam Copeland to retain the AEW World title on last week’s Dynamite, FTR came out to help Copeland but Harwood ended up storming to the back, leaving Cash Wheeler at ringside.

Elsewhere on the show, Kyle Fletcher will make his return to in-ring action, taking on Brody King. On Collision, he promised that he would make clear what was next for himself and the Don Callis Family.

Also announced for the show is Mark Briscoe taking on Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs facing Mark Davis. Additionally, Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa will face Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford after the company confirmed that Storm will defend the AEW Women’s title against Bayne at Dynasty.

Here is the updated card for AEW Dynamite:

  • Kenny Omega vs. Blake Christian
  • Kyle Fletcher vs. Brody King
  • Mark Briscoe vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Mark Davis

Spanish Announce Project (Angelico & Serpentico) defeated Alpha Zo & CSJ

… and it kicked off in style with the return of Spanish Announce Project! In recent months, SAP have been, y’know, chillin.’ Serpentico and Angelico were last seen teaming to pick up a win way back in November of 2024. Angelico has been out of action with injury, but Serpentico has been keeping the porch lights on, picking up wins over the likes of Brandon Cutler, and losses to the likes of Ricochet. They made their return against Zo (a former Hoodslam INTERGALACTIC Tag Team Champion) and the current IZW Heavyweight (but Earthly) Champion, CJS (aka Can’t Stop Jamaal).

Angelico kicked things off against Zo and he looked like he hadn’t missed a step while he was off. The taller Angelico was able to take whatever the beefier Zo threw at him and shake it off with style. He even showed an uncharacteristic aggressive streak, grabbing dreadlocks of Zo to keep him in an arm hold.

Serpentico tagged in for a double team or two (as well as some smoooooth dancing) an d clearly had the veteran’s advantage over Zo. Serpentico’s agility lets him move fast, but stop on a dime. He controlled the pace of the match until Zo caught him with a backbreaker.

Zo tagged in CSJ and of the two, Zo was the more impressive talent. CSJ was a competent brawler, and isolated Serpentico early on, but did not have the speed of his partner to keep up with the luchadores. Serpentico hit a big double DDT and got a hot tag to Angelico who cleared the ring with ease.

Angelico caught Zo with a spinning heel kick, but CSJ broke up the pin. CSJ and Zo tried to double team, but Angelico was able to get the grapevine on CSJ causing him to tap out and give SAP the win in their big return. I’d love to see these guys take on Rhodes and Guevara for the titles.

-ROH World Champion Chris Jericho joined us from the past at Revolution and cut a promo about his “match” with Gravity and ongoing feud with Bandito. This was a darker Jericho. During that match he almost assaulted Gravity’s mother and sister, and instead of his usual schtick, Jericho sat in a chair and talked with gravitas, calling Bandito out. There was no cheery “thanks guys!” so maybe this is a bit of a turn for Jericho.

Blake Christian defeated Titus Alexander

Christian has been mean, belligerent, awful and really, really good at wrestling for months now. His newfound attitude has racked up a string of wins, but hasn’t gotten him closer to any kind of ROH gold. Alexander has yet to pick up a win in ROH, but to be fair this is only his second bout in the promotion. His finisher is the “Big Ugly” which I personally don’t get because he’s a handsome man.

Christian had a spiffy new haircut and lured Alexander into some big stomps off the top. What followed was a clinic in how to beat someone up at great speed. Christian flew around the ring, keeping Alexander confused and off his feet.

Eventually though, Alexander got a really stiff shot in that sent Christian to the outside. He was waiting for Alexander though and sent him head first into the barricades. Christian threw Alexander back into the ring and began working him over, stomping his arm and raking his eyes.

Alexander for his part seemed like he was able to keep up with Christian in terms of speed and agility. The problem was, Christian wasn’t giving him enough time to get set, so Alexander was always on defence, trying to recover from all kinds of kicks and holds.

Christian, a killer heel in the traditional style, got under the crowd’s skin so much they were fully, fully behind Alexander, erupting in cheers whenever he managed to get some momentum. Christian turned the tables though and hit a modified curb stomp into Vanilla Choke Zero, forcing a submission to get the win under a chorus of boos.

Leila Grey defeated Lady Frost

Before the match, a vignette for Grey aired, seemingly revealing her new “Baddie” persona. Grey has put together a decent 4-2 record in ROH since last fall. Her only singles losses coming at the hands (and feet and knees and elbows, etc) of ROH Wormen’s World Champion Athena in a Proving Ground Match, and ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet. Frost, on the other hand, has not won a televised singles match in ROH since July of 2024. She is currently on a 7-match losing streak, but hey, maybe this will be different?

Frost was looking absolutely jacked as she entered the ring, but Grey was able to keep up with her, trading strength for control in the way of a very long headlock. Grey put Frost in a backslide for a 2-count, and that seemed to empower Grey who took it to her in the corner.

Frost for her part showed what she always shows: That she’s a very very good wrestler who tends to make a single mistake that her opponents can capitalize on. It’s not so much that she loses, as mich as she just doesn’t win.

Grey put a knee into Frost’s face and locked in a Dragon Sleeper. Frost struggled for the ropes, but Grey didn’t let up. Frost sent Grey to the mat with a backdrop, and Grey caught her in a rollup to get the pin and continue Frost’s impressive losing streak.

Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) & Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) defeated The Frat House (Cole Karter & Preston Vance) & The Premier Athletes (Ari Daivari & Tony Nese) (w/Jacked Jameson & Mark Sterling)

This week’s Traditional ROH “Everybody Into the Pool” match comes to us with two tag team duos of… duos. Gates of Agony recently ate up and spat out challengers such as Terry Yaki and Bad Dude Tito, but Top Flight have been grounded as of late with their Flight Attendant (are we still calling her that?) Leila Grey picking up more wins than they have, one as recently as this show. On the other side The Frat House and Premier Athletes share a certain amount of douchebaggery between the four of them. They teamed together in Feb in a 12-man match, but lost, so perhaps this scaled-down version of that teaming will yield better results.

The Frat House have a bunch of new gear with their logos prominently displayed on their crotches. For that alone, they deserve what they got in this match. Gates of Agony were met with a huge ovation and went straight for the Frat House, beating up Vance and Karter on the outside. In the Ring, Top Flight took it to the Athletes and somewhere in there a bell rang and the match was on.

Nese and Dante battled in the ring with the dust had settled and it was a great matchup. Nese has always been excellent in the ring with both strength and speed. Dante sent him to the corner though which brought in Karter to face off against Kaun who flattened him.

It was hard to keep track of who was legal because people kept jumping in and out and there were multiple assaults on the outside by Sterling and Jameson. Toa grabbed a chair though and ran them off while Daivari and Darius fought in the ring.

No matter how much momentum the Frat-thletes got though, all it took was 10 seconds in the ring with either Liona or Kaun and the momentum would shift back to Top Gates. Kaun sent Karter over the top rope and it looked like he smashed his knee on the ring apron on the way down (the hardest part of the ring!). Kaun then used Dante as a weapon, throwing him out of the ring onto all four members of the Frat-thletes, much to the crowd’s delight.

Jameson tried to cause a distraction for Vance, but ended up distracting Vance himself. That let the Gates of Agony hit, well, the Gates of Agony and Liona sat down squarely on Vance’s chest for the win.

Honestly, the tag scene in ROH is HOT right now and there are about half a dozen teams that could line up for a shot at the titles.

Dark Panther defeated Aaron Solo

The great CMLL/ROH: Crisis of Infinite Luchadores crossover continues with Dark Panther taking on workhorse Aaron Solo. Panther has a TV title match next week and was in a Panther, Panther, Panther match last week which his team won (probably because of all the panthers) and Solo lost to Adam Page on Dynamite two weeks ago in :54 seconds. So he’s got that going for him.

ROH TV Champion Komander was at ringside to scout Panther for their match next week and was probably a little nervous watching Panther absolutely manhandle Solo. Solo was not ready for Panther’s speed and ended up eating a big chunk of the ring apron (the most delicious part of the ring!)

Solo had a one high spot (literally) with a double stomp off the top rope that seemed to slow Panther down. Panther wasn’t out though, responding with a bit tilt-o-whirl backbreacker. The two traded chops after that, which was not a great decision on Solo’s part, given he was giving up about 50lbs to Panther.

Panther caught him with a really vicious armbar until the ref yelled at him in Spanish to break the hold. The crowd was on Panther’s side as he set Solo up for a Suicide Dive on the outside and throwing him into the barricade in front of Komander before tossing him back in the ring.

Panther hit a big missile dropkick from the top rope and followed it up with another one for good measure. That put Solo away, giving Panther the win and impressing Komander, who he faces next week for the ROH TV Title.

After the match, Panther unwrapped his wrist tape and threw it at Komander who hopped the rail. The Ref stepped in though and kept the two separated.

Katsuyori Shibata defeated Lee Johnson

Shibata makes his return to ROH here against the “Lee” in LEEJ, Lee Johnson. Shibata was last seen back in January defeating Shane Taylor and has since made a play for the AEW International Title then held by Konosuke Takeshita, but came up empty. Johnson has been hanging out with EJ Nduka and is fresh off a rest after losing to ROH World Television Champion Komander about a month ago.

This was a first-time matchup for these two and a test of strength was in order off the top. I never know who actually wins those things, so we’ll say it was Shibata because Johnson ended up in a headlock. Shibata began working Johnson’s right arm as the two went through a really technical series, ending up with Johnson in a Figure Four.

Johnson managed to get free but Shibata began chopping him in the corner. At this point, Johnson was limping from the figure four, had a dangling arm and a swollen chest. He rolled out of the ring and Shibata followed, but Johnson was able to get the advantage and throw him into the barricades.

Back in the ring, Johnson talked a lot of trash and even went for Shibata’s eye, nearly causing a DQ. Switching to running chops, Johnson woke the beast in Shibata who began no-selling them and getting right into Johnson’s face before throwing a dozen chops of his own, knocking Johnson silly.

Johnson fought back though, saying that Shibata had “nothing” and then hit a really scary looking driver on Shibata’s head. Shibata was ok though and popped up to lick in an Iron Claw followe dbut a back suplex and big kick to the jaw. That was it for Johnson and Shibata got the pin.

-Lexy Nair interviewed the Frat House in the back. Jameson arrived with red solo cups allegedly containing beers and they chugged them. Vance declared that “win or lose, they booze!” That conjured 2/3rds of the Dark Order. Evil Uno confronted Vance and told him to grow up. Life is about more than partying. Vance thew his solo cup at Alex Reynolds and Uno assured him that the Frat House would get theirs.

Atlantis, Esfinge & Mistico defeated Euforia, Rocky Romero & Valiente

The Main Event of the night featured another CMLL/ROH: Crisis of Infinite Luchadores crossover match, but, like, with more of them. Atlantis (A legend, who once held the NWA Light Heavyweight Championship for a staggering 1353 days) teams with current Mexican National Light Heavyweight Champion, Esfinge and Mistico who is the current MLW Middleweight Champion. Across the ring is 1/3rd of the CMLL Trios Champions, Euforia and Valienta who held that very same title with a few different teammates for over 1500 collective days. Also, Rocky Romero was there.

This match was under Luchadore Rules, which meant that if someone rolled out under the bottom rope, it counted as a tag and a new team member could jump in. Euforia, taking a break form playing drums for Carlos Santana, started it off against Mistico, with a helping hand from Romero.

To try and keep up with who was legal when was a fools errand, but the match was full of amazing spots. Euforia hit a big splash from the top rope on Atlantis. Romero and Valiente double teamed Mistico until he hit a headscissor on Euforia. Esfinge and Valiente had a spirited exchange until Romero jumped in and Esfinge cleared the ring of them both.

Esfinge tagged in Atlantis to the crowd’s joy but Euforia tooke their breath away by knocking him silly. Atlantis fought back and landed a big backbreaker on Euforia, then dished out a couple to his teammates as well. Mistico and Valiente faced off next, with the former facing a lot of boos from the crowd.

A twisting wristlock takedown sent Valiente to the ouside and brought in Euforia. Mistico dispatched him the same way and then catapulted onto Euforia over the top rope on the outside. From there all six men brawled, with Esfinge left legal against…. one of the other guys. Everyone was simply choosing the opposing luchadore nearest to them and fighting them. In the ring, Mistico and Euforia battled until Mistico caught Euforia with an armbar, forcing the lucha legend to tap out.

Another great night of wrestling in ROH!

**********

Episode 105 of ROH on Honorclub is here to continue Episode 104’s spotlighting of CMLL’s legendary legion of luchadores with a pair of big time six-man matches! Names like Atlantis, Fuego, Atlantis Jr, Fuego Del Sol and Dark Panther are all in action tonight!

Atlantis, Esfinge & Fuego defeated Euforia, Gran Guerrero & Rocky Romero

Atlantis is 62 years old. That’s it. That’s all you need to know. Joining him are Esfinge, the  CMLL Mexican National Light Heavyweight Champion and CMLL mainstay Fuego. They’ll be taking on Rocky Romero, who ROH fans may remember from another episode of ROH that he was undoubtedly on. He’s teamed with his CMLL pals Euforia who at 50 is not the oldest person in the match and current CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Gran Guerrero (sadly no relation to Eddie).

Atlantis and Guererro kicked things off with Guererro feigning respect for Atlantis, then sucker punching him. Fuego and Romero then took a turn with Fuego sending his head into the mat with a big headscissor. That brought in Euforia for a moment before Gran found his way back in.

I should mention, this match was being contested under Luchadore Rules, which meant that if a wrestler exited the ring under the bottom rope, one of his teammates could enter just like being tagged.

Back in the match, Romero and Esfinge flew around the ring, with Romero taking the brunt of the punishment. Euforia came in for a double team with Gran, flattening Romero. Fuego jumped in though and the triple team was on. Guererro landed a big package tiger driver on Fuego, bringing Atlantis back into the fray.

The triple team contiuned as Guererro, Euforia and Romeo all took turns wailing on the legend. The ref managed to shoo two of them out, leaving Romero and Atlantis. Romero tried to remove Atlantis’ mask, but Euforia got in before he could. Atlantis went up top and hit a great crossbody. He then spammed tilt-o-whirl backbreakers, a move attributed to Atlantis.

Esfinge ended up in the ring with Romero and Esfinge manged to get him in a bridged pin that led to a three count. Great opener!!

La Catalina defeated Lady Frost

The ladies of CMLL join the fray next as La Catalina faced off against Lady Frost Along with Catalina’s mexican escapades, she also appeared in WWE’s NXT in a Women’s World Title #1 Contender’s Battle Royale in 2020, where she was eliminated by Shayna Baszler. Catalina also has an upcoming shot at Athena’s ROH Women’s World Title. Frost has been splitting her time between AEW and ROH all while holding the WrestlePro Women’s Championship. Her last ROH match was a loss to Taya Valkyrie in January.

The two wrestlers were fairly evenly matched in terms of size and speed. They locked up off the top and Catalina managed to work Frost into an early pin attempt. Catalina focused on the leg, trying to keep Frost off her feet. Frost met her head on though and a speedy exchange followed.

Catalina controlled the pace of the match, putting Frost on her back, then flipping her into various submission moves. Perhaps it was the vigour of youth or the excitement of the evening, but Catalina tended to put on a submission move, but if Frost didn’t submit right away, Catalina moved on to another one. She might want to give a bit more time in the future.

Frost battled back and caught Catalina with a lariat off the ropes. Frost sent her too the corner, but was spending a little too much time playing to the crowd. She hit a Snowball Fight, but only got a two count. A slugfest broke out as the two traded blows against the ropes until Catalina inserted her knee in Frosts face.

Frost planted Catalina with a spinning backdrop, but it was just another two count. Frost went up top and Catalina caught her midair for a quick pin attempt. It was a two-count though as both women began to show signs of fatigue. Frost charged Catalina in the the corner, but Catalina dodged and nailed her with an electric chair.

Catalina went up top for a big splash and that was the end for Frost. 1,2,3 and Catalina picks up the win and the momentum heading into her match against ROH Women’s Champion Athena.

The Beast Mortos defeated Adam Priest

Mortos hasn’t been on ROH since the landmark 100th episode, when he ate up and spat out the surprisingly impressive Lord Crewe. Tonight though, he takes on a technical specialist in Priest, so this was a definite mixing of styles.

Priest tried to run around Mortos and pepper him with chops. Unfortunately Mortos does not feel pain like a regular human so he was able to turn the momentum with the extremely technical move called “punch him in the face very hard.”

Mortos tried a chokelsam, but Priest wiggled free and took out Mortos’ leg. Priest has scouted Mortos via a match with him on Collision, so he knew taking him off his feet would be key. Mortos, however, is unkillable by conventional means, so he rose up and hit a massive samoan drop on Priest, gaining control.

Mortos grabbed priest and executed a tilt-o-whirl back breaker into a torture rack followed by a piledriver that put Priest down for good, giving The Beast the win.

The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) w/Shane Taylor defeated Jimmy Wild & Rosario Grillo

The last time we saw Bravo and Dean on ROH was back in December in a wild 8-man tag match, teamed with Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty. Since joining up with Shane Taylor Promotions, the Infantry have looked great, leaning into a more aggressive style. It still hasn’t translated into championship gold though, which I’m sure was on their minds as they checked out the opposition. Wild got beat up by Toa Liona last April in ROH, while Grillo is no stranger, having taken on the Outrunners with Jon Cruz on episode 100.

Dean and Grillo kicked things off, with Dean immediately sending Grillo to the Infantry corner for a double team. Off of that, Wild tagged in and Dean dragged him to the outside and Bravo delivered a huge axehandle onto him on the ring apron (the hardest part of the ring).

Bravo and Wild were up next and history repeated itself as Wild was sent to the corner for Bravo to wrench on behind the refs back. Bravo tagged in and was about the get the pin on Wild, but pulled him up after two for some more punishment instead.

Wild tried for a hit tag, but the Infantry cut him off. Wild actually executed a double DDT on Bravo and Dean, but just couldn’t get that tag as Bravo pulled Grillo off the apron and onto the floor. Bravo and Dean took Wild to Boot Camp and then did a double curb stomp. Dean then pinned Wild’s lifeless body as a matter of protocol.

Blake Christian defeated Fuego Del Sol

Fuego Del Sol (Not to be confused with his fellow Fuego; Fuego) has been hanging around ROH for the last year or so with mixed results. He’s lost a few singles matches, won a few trios matches and generally been a stalwart workhorse for ROH. Christian, leaning into a grumpy, bully persona, has not lost a match in ROH since Final Battle 2024 back in, well, 2024. That puts him on a 5-match win streak and he’s mad as hell about it.

Christian attacked Del Sol before the bell as Del Sol was soaking up the crowds adulation. Christian worked him over on the outside, stepping on his head against the barricade. Del Sol dodged a flip from Christian and threw him back in the ring. Christian responded with a hige knee to the face and stood on Del Sol’s head again.

Del Sol kept trying to gain the upper hand, but Christian had an answer for him every step of the way. They both matched up on big speed, but Christian was in control through most of the match, including trying to tear of Del Sol’s luchadore mask. Twice.

Christian tapped his wrist like a watch as if to say “time to end this” but Del Sol fought back before Christian could do much damage. He caught Christian with a big back elbow and double stomp to the back of the head. He tried an around the world DDT, but Christian fought back.

Del Sol went up top to end it, but Christian kipped-up and knocked him off the turnbuckle. Christial climbed up and hit a C$ from the top rope before locking in Vanilla Choke Zero. Del Sol was forced to tap out, giving Christian his sixth win.

-Backstage, ROH Women’s Champion Athena cut a promo on La Catalina. Athena is tired of “bi*ches” coming into her show trying to take her title. So when they meet next week, Athena will not be nice to Catalina. Her words, not mine.

Dark Panther defeated Gravity

Last week, Panther teamed up with Fuego and Sammy Guevara in a losing effort in the six-man main event. Now he’s looking to audition for Wicked Part 2 by defying gravity. Wait, hold on, no I was incorrect, Panther is facing off against Gravity, a Bandito-traind Luchadore who’s a double champion, currently holding the Loko Championship and the Lucha Libre Elite Welterweight Championship. The ROH World TV Champion, Komander, watched from the crowd as he and Panther have a match for the title coming up.

Like The Beast Mortos, Panther’s hugeness set him apart from most Luchadores. Gravity tried his best to get him off his feet in the opening exchange, but no dice. Panther went low and put Gravity in an ankle lock. Panther locked Gravity in a standing surfboard, but Gravity wriggled free.

Panther slowed things down with a big lariat, keeping Gravity off his feet. Panther hit a rewind (kind of a double 619) which he shouldn’t have been able to do given his size (physics!). From there, he and Gravity exchanged forearms until Gravity executed a German Suplex.

Gravity tried to throw a lariat, but Panther caught his arm and put on an armlock, forcing Gravity to scramble to the ropes. Panther sent him to the outside and dove through the ropes, twice, once without his elbowpad. Panther went to the second rope for an elbow, but Gravity dodged it. Panther slipped by Gravity’s next move and hit a Knockout blow, getting the pin and the win.

Atlantis Jr., Mascara Dorada & Templario defeated Magnus, Soberano Jr. & Volador Jr.

Ok, so stay with me here as I try to get the 3-6 degrees of luchadore info laid out:

  • Former ROH World TV Champion and current CMLL World Historic Light Heavyweight Champion Atlantis Jr (and yes, Atlantis is his father) faces off against one of his former CMLL World Trios Championship teammates Volador Jr.
  • Volador, held the CMLL World Historic Welterweight Championship three times for a staggering 3167 day collective Reign.
  • On the other side of the ring from him is the CURRENT World Historic Welterweight Championship, Mascara Dorada. Dorada most recently defeated Soberano Jr as part of a two-out-of-three falls six-man match two weeks ago.
  • Soberano held the Mexican National Welterweight Championship for 1664 days before vacating the title and the “El” part of his name.
  • Last year, Soberano teamed with current Mexican National Tag Team Champion Magnus in a series of tag matches in CMLL.
  • Magnus, amongst other things, has faced off against Templario, the current CMLL World Middleweight Champion, in best-2-out-of-3-falls six-man matches roughly every 4-6  months since 2016.

Whew.

Kicking things off with Magnus and Templario, this match was on fire from the start. Soberano followed Mangus in after Templario threw him out of the ring. Atlantis, Templario and Dorada hit a triple dive through the ropes to take out the otheer team.

Back in the ring, Magnus and Dorada went back and forth, with Volador jumping in and Dorada taking care of them both. From here, it was almost impossible to know who was legal in the match. a Lucha-Brawl broke out and when the dist settled Magnus and Templario were in the ring. Dorada tagged in, and the triple-team shifted to Dorada taking a beating from Soberano and Co.

Volador and Magnus hit a great double team move and then the Ref decided to make himself known byt forgetting that you can slide under the ropes to initiate a tag. That led to another Lucha-Brawl and Atlantis found himself in the ring alone against the opposing team. Volador tried for a pin, but only a two-count.

The trio kept Atlantis isolated and twisted his wrist and hand so it seemed like he was giving the finger to the crowd. They triple-kicked him and Atlantis rolled out allowing Templario to take his place in the 3-on-1 beating. Dorada found his way in and took his turn getting triple teamed. The ref was ok with all of this.

Actually he tried hard to keep control, but it was a fool’s effort. Atlantis managed to find an in and tookd down all three, ending with big tilt-o-whirl backbreakers on Magnus and Soberano. Volador was the legal man as the ring cleared and Atlantis tried for a pin, only getting a two-count.

Templario tagged in to take on a clearly dazed Volador. Templario tried to hit a powerbomb off the top rope, but Volador reversed it into a headscissor. That brought in Soberano who kicked Templario very, very lowly in the stomach. Templario paid him back with a massive pop-up blue thunder bomb.

Magnus and Atlantis faced off as the “this is awesome” chants rained down in Texas. Quick tags and Dorada (now the legal man) hit Volador with an inside out run. Atlantis hit a huge frog splash on the legal (maybe) man Magnus and managed to get a pin and the victory for his team.

What a fun show! More Luchadores please!

In a four-way tag team match, it will be The Outrunners vs. Evil Uno & Alex Reynolds vs. Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Ari Daivari & Tony Nese.

Griff Garrison & Preston Vance will take on The Parea to round out the show.

**********

It’s Thursday and I just had a root canal! What mystical musings will the good drugs produce? Let’s find out as ROH on Honorclub episode #102 kicks off!

Blake Christian defeated Adam Priest

Christian has developed a real bad attitude over the last few months and has put it on full display in wins over Parker Li, Serpentico and Evil Uno. He’s on a hot streak and one has to assume that puts him in line for an ROH title sooner than later. Priest (the OTHER Priest), survived a beating at the hands of The Beast Mortos on Collision is making his ROH Singles debut, which I’m sure will go great for him.

Christian gave a Code of Middle Finger to Priest off the top who grabbed it and tried to twist it off. From there, the two went back and forth with a technical, but speedy style. Priest turned out to be a pretty good foe for Christian, as they both had similar styles and sizes.

Christian bailed from the ring to reset and Priest took advantage with a big uppercut as he climbed back into the ring. Christian blocked some Irish Whip attempts and followed up with a flying forearm off the top turnbuckle.

Christian went up top again and Priest tried to throw him off, but Christian managed a big legdrop for a two count. They ended up on the outside, where Christian dragged Priest’s face around the barricade, followed by a back suplex onto the floor.

Christian tossed Priest back into the ring where he chopped him in the throat and mugged for the crowd. Priest reversed a pumphandle slam into a suplex and the two traded chops. Priest landed a huge DDT for a two count, almost getting the upset.

Speaking of getting upset, Christian got mad and laid Priest out with a big powerslam. Christian went up top again and hit a 450 Double Stomp. He then locked in a new submission move called Vanilla Choke Zero and Priest was forced to tap out.

Griff Garrison & Preston Vance (w/Cole Karter) defeated The Parea (Eli Theseus & Gabriel Aeros)

While Cole Karter continues his rehab from injury, Garrison has been hanging out/teaming with Vance. Oddly enough, that has formed a “cool guy” triad that for some reason Jacked Jameson really wants to be a part of. He approached the trio two weeks ago and they decided to straight up bully him about wanting to hang out with them, so I guess I like Jameson now? Anyways, Garrison and Vance were taking on the ROH-debuting The Parea who are currently double champions, holding both the WSW and MCW tag titles.

Garrison kicked things off tying up with Theseus who was the beefier of the two, but Garrison is very, very agile and was able to keep control. Theseus tagged in Aeros and they used some double team offense followed by a huge knee to the face to keep Garrison away from a tag.

Aeros began dancing in the ring and that summoned Jacked Jameson who sauntered down to the ring to cause a distraction. Garrison sent Theseus to the outside where Vance beat him up against the barricade. Jameson hung around on the outside, getting in a sneaky shot on Aeros.

Vance became legal in the ring and was joined by Theseus. Vance got him up in a stalling suplex and drove him back to the mat. Garrison tagged in and they worked over Theseus, keeping from a hot tag. Jameson and Karter stayed to the outside, chilling and being shirtless.

Garrison scooped up Thesus with a slam and some mockery, but only got a two count. Theseus fought back with a big backdrop and got the hot tag to Aeros who actually managed to lay in a few big strokes to the now-legal Vance.

Garrison hopped in and he and Vance delivered duelling discus lariats to Theseus, which knocked him clean out and got them the pin. After the match, they let Jameson hang out and pose with them on the apron. How nice.

-Backstage, A somber Billie Starkz pretended to hold a mic in place of the excommunicated Lexy Nair. She sadly introduced Athena who informed Billie that their match tonight would not be a tag match, but a singles bout in order to teach her a lesson. Starkz rolled her eyes and said “fine” as Athena left.

Lee Johnson (w/EJ Nduka) defeated Jon Davis

Johnson and Nduka have been on a tear lately. A pouty, mean-spirited tear, but a tear none the less. They helped Shane Taylor Promotions beat up the Dark Order and Friends a couple of weeks ago and last week, Johnson lasted 10 minutes with Komander in a Proving Ground match to earn a shot at the ROH World Television Championship. Davis, still not the lead singer of KoRn, but is in his first ROH match since 2010 when he lost to Rhett Titus, who apparently worked there at the time.

Davis actually would have had a good match with Nduka as he was much bigger than Johnson. That said, the veteran can work. He was able to overpower Johnson off the top and keep the match a slower pace. Davis powered out of a waistlock and twisted Johnson into a wristlock. Johnson begged off and Davis resumed pacing around the ring.

Davis picked up Johnson and threw him, not unlike a bale of hay or sack of proverbial potatoes. Johnson pretended to show respect in order to lower Davis in for a taunting slap to the face. Nduka lured Davis to the outside where he faced off with Nduka. Johnson dove through the ropes to take him out, claiming it was all “too easy.”

Johnson pulled him back into the ring for a rough looking knee to the face and a standing moonsault. Johnson called Davis a “nothing” and that seemed to wake the big man up. He threw elbows and big slams, planting Johnson with a huge suplex. Nduka grabbed Davis’ ankle and pulled him to the outside, crushing him.

Tossing him back in the ring, Johnson hit a big frog splash from the top and got the 1-2-3 (with Nduka getting the assist). Davis looked great though!

ROH Women’s World Title Proving Ground Match: Athena [c] (w/Billie Starkz) defeated Carolina Cruz

The ROH Women’s Forever Champion made her triumphant return after an international world tour! Starkz made her mopey return to being a minion and Cruz gets caught in the middle. It is a Proving Ground match though, so if Cruz can last that 10 minutes or pin/submit the champion, she’ll get a title shot. I cannot stress enough how unlikely that is though.

Athena started the match by yelling at Starkz before delivering a huge dropkick to Cruz. Cruz tried her best, but was gravely outmatched against Athena. She threw Cruz around the ring while Starkz sat quietly on the outside.

Athena hit a great front legsweep and rained down punches on Cruz. Cruz managed to get a forearm in which just made Athena madder. She hit a one handed powerbomb and stacked Cruz up to get the win. This was Athena’s 30th straight Proving Ground win. She may actually be champ forever…

After the match, Athena tried to smash Cruz’ face on the title belt while Starkz watched. Athena mercilessly beat up Cruz until Starkz tried to calm her down. Athena then turned her fury on Starkz, while the ref begged her to let up. Athena got ahold of herself and stomped off with her belt and Starkz in tow.

Sammy Guevara defeated Mansoor (w/Mason Madden)

While Guevara’s partner Dustin Rhodes takes care of some MJF-related business in AEW, Guevara is holding down the ROH Tag Team Championship business. MxM have declared that they need some new accessories to complete a Championship look, and the Tag Titles go with everything!

Poses were struck (six in fact!) and a tip was offered, but when Sammy went to touch his, Mansoor gave him the finger! A perfectly posed finger, but a a finger none the less.

Mansoor and Guevara were pretty evenly matched in size and speed, which made the slow start to the match a little puzzling. However, when things picked up, Mansoor was able to land some big elbows. Guevara responded with some poses of his own, dodging dropkick in the process.

Mansoor started ot lose his cool as Guevara had an answer for everything he threw at him. Madden feigned posing on the ring apron (the hardest part of the ring) but grabbed Guevara’s ankle, eading to Mansoor putting him in a figure four around the bottom rope.

Mansoor began working Guevara’s leg with a series of hamstring pulls and drop knees. Mansoor got Guevara in a Boston Crab, but Guevara worked his way out of it. Mansoor put on a stepover grapevine but Guevara was just barely able to get to the rope, his leg now really hurting.

Mansoor tried to set up a Shattered Dreams to taunt Guevara’s partner Dusting Rhodes, but Guevara was able to dodge it and land a dragonscrew takedown. Guevara returned the favor, working over Mansoor’s leg and knee. Madden got involved, but Guevara dodged his kick, hanging him up on the ropes.

Mansoor tried to take advantage, but Guevara caught him with a figure four and Mansoor had to tap out. After the match, Madden and Mansoor beat up Guevara in the ring, hitting a Centerfold and pretending to pin Guevara to send Rhodes a message. They then posed with Guevara’s ROH Tag Title Belt.

ROH Women’s World Television Title Match: Red Velvet (c) defeated Robyn Renegade

Red Velvet is fast becoming the fighting-est champion on the ROH Roster. She has successfully defended the ROH Women’s TV Title against Diamante, HANAKO, and a pair of Leylas (Leyla Hirsch and Leila Grey) just to name a few. She’s also held her own in a boatload of Proving ground matches. This will be Renegade’s first crack at the title and Velvet, so we’ll see if a fresh matchup hurts or helps the champ.

Renegade stood about 6 inches taller than Velvet, but when wrestling Velvet, size is rarely a factor. The two locked up with Renegade coming out on top, slamming Velvet to the mat. Not phased, Velvet stood up and did the same thing back to her. Velvet went for a big kick, but Renegade had it scouted and caught her in midair, slamming Velvet to the ground.

Renegade delivered a punch that staggered Velvet in a way rarely seen. Velvet tried to retaliate, but Renegade seemed to have her number, countering everything Velvet threw at her. Velvet was playing possum though, as Renegade tried a baseball slide, but Velvet caught her in the ring apron (the aproniest part of the ring!) and delivered some heavy shots.

Velvet hit a double knee to the abck of Renegade’s head on the ropes. She began talking trash to the camera, and Renegade tried a quick rollup. Velvet kicked out and tried one of her own. Renegade kicked out and planted Velvet with a side slam.

Velvet got a sneak DDT in (kinda) and laid out Renegade. The two climbed up, face to face and traded punches. Renegade began talking her own trash, which woke up Velvet in a big way. She unloaded on her, sending Renegade to the corner. Renegade fought out though and went for a pumphandle slam that Velvet managed to counter into a Mama’s Kitchen and pick up the win to retain her title. A great, hard-hitting match!

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) defeat Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) and The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno) and The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) (w/Josh Woods & Mark Sterling)

If there is one thing that ROH loves its multiple teams in the same match. This one was more of a “four corners” situation though, with each team fending for themselves. All of these teams have had issues with one another at some point, except the Outrunners. Everyone loves the Outrunners. Everyone came to the ring with their usual schtick(s) and managed to get through the intros without chaos erupting.

Magnum and Daivari kicked things off, but Nese quickly tagged in. Magnum took a shot to the throat and stumbled into the corner of the Dark Order. Reynolds tagged himself in and flattened Nese with a crossbody. Gibson tagged in, and Uno and Reynolds doiuble teamed him.

Then the chaos broke out, with all 8 men brawling in the ring. The Order and Outrunners managed to get an opponent each in the corners and delivered synchronized punches. The ring was cleared, leaving Uno and Gibson as the legal men. The Athletes grabbed Uno and dragged him out of the ring, making Nese and Reynolds legal for some reason.

Reynolds managed to tag in Uno, but Daivari jumped in and he and Nese double teamed him. Uno fought back though, knocking them both against the turnbuckle. Magnum made a blind tag on Uno and he and Daivari mixed it up. Gibson tagged in and hit a back suplex on Magnum. Drake jumped in off a Gibson tag and the two double teamed Magnum. That brought in the Athletes who worked with the GYV to keep Magnum from making a tag.

Finally, Magnum dodged a big lariat and got the hot tag to Floyd. He cleared the ring of everyone. At this point, the Dark Order seemed to have disappeared. The Outrunners hit a big double elbow and set up for a Total Recall, but Nese interrupted. Reynolds appeared out of nowhere and dove through the ropes, taking out Sterling and crew.

The Veterans and Athletes found themselves in the ring with the Outrunners. Floyd and Magnum cleared out both teams and nailed a total recall on Drake. That gave them enough time to make the pin and get the victory!

Good times, Good show, good night!

Ring of Honor TV live results: Women’s TV title defense

Ring of Honor Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet will look for her fifth defense on tonight’s ROH on HonorClub.

Velvet will defend against Leila Grey who earned the shot by virtue of a single win on last week’s show.

Men’s TV Champion Komander will take on Lee Johnson in a Proving Ground bout where if Johnson can draw or beat Komander, he earns a future title shot.

Blake Christian will attempt to win his fifth straight ROH singles match as he battles Dark Order’s Evil Uno.

ROH Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara will go one-on-one with Aaron Solo while Serpentico wrestles Brandon Cutler.

Queen Aminata vs. Allysin Kay rounds out the lineup.

*********

A new Thursday means a new episode of ROH on HonorClub! The Men’s and Women’s TV Titles will be in action tonight, so clearly ROH is TV ready!

Sammy Guevara defeated Aaron Solo

Guevara is currently one-half of the ROH Tag Champions, the Sons of Texas with Dustin Rhodes. They just successfully defended the titles at Wrestle Dynasty in Japan, so one can assume that Guevara is taking this singles match because Rhodes is jet lagged. Solo has the distinction of recently losing to 57 year old former Taylor Swift employer Jeff Jarrett on Collision. I don’t know who that’s more embarrassing for. Solo for losing, or AEW for still putting on Jarrett matches in the year of our Lord 2025.

Solo rejected a Code of Honor from Guevara off the top as the two locked up. These guys both trade on speed and agility, so the slower, more punchy start was a surprise. Guevara sent Solo to the outside and pulled some tricks from 1995 HBK’s bag and did some suggestive posing while Solo recovered.

Guevara went for a spingboard off the top rope, but Solo had it scouted and shook him off. Solo stomped Guevara in the corner and then a tight chinlock. Guevara fought back though, delivering the first chops of the night followed by a crossbody.

The match sped up here with Guevara and Solo each dodging some high impact moves. Guevara managed to land a kick to Solo’s spine, but it only got a two count. Guevara got Solo up in a Torture Rack, but Solo wiggled out, sending Guevara up the ramp.

The two battled their way back to the ring, where Solo climbed up to the top rope and delivered a double stomp. Guevara fought back with a cutter and delivered a GTH to pick up the pin and victory.

Queen Aminata defeated Allysin Kay

Aminata is kicking 2025 off right. She’s 3-1 in this new(ish) year and had a run to end last year that featured a string of wins ( what we call pulling a “Reverse-Brandon Cutler”) over the likes of Leila Grey, Harley Cameron and a really tough bout against Lady Frost. Kay has been in and out of ROH a lot, but has not managed to score a win since 2021 when she beat Willow Nightingale in the first round of a Women’s World Championship Tournament, eventually won by Rok-C.

Aminata showed no respect to the veteran Kay, rubbing her face in it off the top (“it” would be her derriere). Aminata sent Kay into the corner and climbed up for exactly 10 punches to the head. Kay barrelled back though, knocking Aminata into the opposite corner for a splash.

Kay laid the lumber on Aminata, wrapping her up in the ropes with a chinlock. Kay tied up Animata in a submission move in the center of the ring, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Queen down. The two traded fists with Aminata coming out on top. She laid out Kay with a huge knee to the face and dragged her back to the center of the ring, but only got a two count. Once back on their feet, Aminata gave Kay a big headbutt, knocking her clean out, leading to Aminata getting the victory.

ROH World Television Title Proving Ground Match: Komander (w/Alex Abrahantes) [c] vs. Lee Johnson (w/EJ Nduka) – Time Limit Draw (10:00)

This match was made last week and features two very different ringside enforcers. Abrahantes is there to hype up Komander and EJ Nduka is there to forcibly murder anyone who gets in front of him. As always in a Proving Ground match, the challenger must pin, submit or last the 10 minute time limit to secure a shot at the title in question. The last Proving Ground match Komander had featured QT Marshall getting a rare Proving Ground challenger win by drawing out the match to the time limit. Komander retained his title in the match that followed.

Komander had his hands full with Johnson, who kicked away the Code of Honor. The two locked up and Johnson took Komander to the ground. Komander tried to catch Johnson in a submission hold, but Johnson started to break away from Komander, killing time like QT Marshall did a few weeks ago.

Johnson dragged Komander to the mat with a headlock, but Komander broke it and Johnson returned to grinding the match down to the slowest pace possible. Komander send Johnson to the outside and wanted to hit a dive through the ropes, but a large wall named Nduka was standing there, causing Komander to pull up. Johnson snuck in and attacked Komander from behind, sending him out of the ring.

After a few shots against the barricade, Johnson pulled Komander back into the ring. He taunted the champion, pushing him with his foot in a condescending manner. Johnson tried a superplex as the time ticked away. Komander dodged it and hit a big facebuster on Johnson, but seemed to knock the wind out of himself in the process.

Johnson hit a big driver out of nowhere, but it wasn’t enough to put Komander away. Johnson tried a powerbomb, but Komander put in a kick to the head. Komander favoured his ribs as he climbed to the top rope where Johnson grabbed him. Komander quickly hit a sunset bomb but it wasn’t enough to put Johnson away as a one-minute warning was delivered.

Komander tried desperately to put Johnson down, but his ribs slowed him down. Nduka pulled Johnson out of the ring while Komander writhed until the bell rang! Johnson lasted the 10 minutes so the match ended in a draw, but Johnson still gets the title shot.

Serpentico defeated Brandon Cutler

We last saw Serpentico around the beginning of the month as 1/8th of a 4v4 tag match that his team was on the losing end of. Serpentico’s normal partner in the Spanish Announce Project, Angelico, has been out with a knee injury but rumor has it he’s almost completed his “knee-hab.” The last time Cutler won a televised match in ROH was a tag match in March of 2024. Since then, he’s chalked up losses to the likes of Preston Vance, Rocky Romero, Katsuyori Shibata, Jacoby Watts (Watts? Really?) and now maybe Serpentico. If you’re collecting high-profile losses, that’s not a bad list.

Cutler and Serpentico first faced off in a battle of the silly outfits. Serpentico won that with a cool new mask, vest and… codpiece? All of which were very shiny. The two locked up with Serpentico sending Cutler to the mat. Cutler responded with a hurricanrana, but Serpentico fought back then they flew around the ring.

Serpentico hit a statue senton (aka he fell over) onto Cutler, but it only got a two-count. Cutler went for a big move off the top rope, but Serpentico sidestepped it and Cutler fell flat on his face. Serpentico sent Cutler to the corner and veeeery slowly unzipped his jacket to chop Cutler on bare chest.

Cutler battled back and hit a double stomp from the top rope followed by a big pumphandle slam. Cutler tried to get Serpentico in a big spin, but it slithered out and hit a big driver. Serpentico went to the top rope and hit a huge frog splash to get the pin and victory.

ROH Classic Match: ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe vs Tony Deppen (ROH on Honorclub Episode #2, Feb 25, 2023)

This week’s Classic Content was Samoa Joe beating the everloving heck out of Tony Deppen. The match happened way back on episode 2 of ROH on Honorclub. Samoa Joe was the TV Champion at the time and was taking on all comers. Lots of big punishing blows, but was largely a squash. Still I’d watch Joe squash people any day, and this was a good one.

-Backstage, the Infantry cut a promo about their new attitudes. The Infantry put the whole company on notice that they will be double stomping anyone and everyone. That was about it.

Blake Christian defeated Evil Uno (w/Alex Reynolds & John Silver)

Since coming within a hair of winning the ROH TV Title at Final Battle 2024, Christian has been showing an aggressive attitude as he makes the rounds in ROH. He’s completed the trifecta of beating Parker Li, Serpentic and AR Fox and looks to add Evil Uno to the list. Uno for his part, brought Reynolds and Silver with him for some top-shelf posing and jacket wearing. It’s hard to say what’s going on with the Dark Order these days, but for this match they seem like they are on the same dark page.

Continuing the trend of the night, Christian shook off a Code of Honor and the two locked up. Uno was not impressed with Christian’s new attitude and shoved him into the corner. Christian literally flipped out of the ring, mocking a clearly annoyed Uno on the outside.

Christian jumped back in and sent Uno to the ropes. Uno responded but punching him in the face very hard. Christian slid out again this time Uno followed, levelling a prone Christian with a shoulder in front of the commentary desk.

Back in the ring, Uno delivered 10 big forearms in the corner. Christian dodged a slam and double stomped Uno’s arm from the top rope. Christian continued working the arm, removing Uno’s strength advantage. Christian then hit a suicide dive INTO the ring from the raised ramp and levelled Uno.

The two traded blows in the middle of the ring, Uno winning the battle in spite of his damaged arm. Uno hit a DDT followed by a brainbuster, but it only got him a two count. Christian climbed to the top rope for a big frog splash, but Uno kicked out at two.

Uno hit a huge back elbow followed by a piledriver, but couldn’t put Christian away. Uno dragged Christian to the top rope, but Christian messed with his mask and managed to hit a huge 450 on Uno while he was fixing it. Christian delivered some knees to the head and finally scored a three count, winning the match.

-It was announced that ROH Women’s World Champion Athena would return to ROH next week!

ROH Women’s World Television Title Match: Red Velvet (c) defeated Leila Grey

Top Flight’s Grey picked up a win last week over Marti Belle that put her in contention for a shot at the ROH Women’s World TV Title apparently. This is not a criticism though, as Velvet has been grinding through opponents and seeing her and Grey mix it up (in or out of Mama’s Kitchen) sounds like something that everyone can get behind.

The two locked up off the top with Grey sending Velvet to the ropes. After a quick rest, Velvet burst back with some stiff shots. Grey didn’t flinch though, slamming Velvet and hitting a senton. Grey picked apart Velvet with a series of quick strikes, causing Velvet to roll out of the ring to get herself in order.

Grey made the mistake of following her outside, where Velvet grabbed her and drove her lower back into the ring apron (the hardest part of the ring!). Velvet re-entered the ring, leaving Grey writhing on the outside. Velvet went for a chop against the barricade, but Grey dodged it and threw about a dozen of her own.

Back in the ring, Velvet used her boxing background to pepper Grey with shots. She followed that up with a meteora to the back of the head, leaving Grey dazed. Velvet locked in a full nelson, but Grey elbowed her way free. Velvet changed tactics and hit side slam into a chin lock, wearing Grey down.

Grey tried a quick rollup, but Velvet kicked out. Grey hit a bulldog and a dragon sleeper on Velvet got her foot on the ropes to break the hold. Velvet fought out and sent Grey into the corner. Grey hit a couple of elbows followed by a block buster, but Velvet kicked out a two.

Velvet managed to catch Grey off the ropes and spun her into a Mama’s Kitchen. Velvet pinned Grey and got the 1-2-3 to end a perfectly cromulent night of wrestling!

Ring of Honor TV live results: Beast Mortos, Blake Christian, Red Velvet in action

Tonight’s Ring of Honor on HonorClub has a mix of different stars competing as the slow road to April’s Supercard of Honor continues.

ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet will be in Proving Ground action against Angelica Risk. If Risk can win or go to a draw, she earns a future title shot.

The Beast Mortos will take on Tony Nese while former GCW Champion Blake Christian will look to keep his recent win streak going.

After making her Stardom debut, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will give an update on her world tour.

Former Ring of Honor Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata will be in action after unsuccessfully challenging AEW TNT Champion Daniel Garcia last Saturday.

Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno will team with Boulder and Serpentico against Shane Taylor, ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, EJ Nduka and Lee Johnson.

The Outrunners will compete ahead of their inclusion in a 12-man tag team match on Saturday’s AEW Collision.

**********

Here we go! This is the penultimate episode of ROH on Honorclub before #100 next week, and the card is stacked with some very big people who like hurting other people in very big ways!

But first, QT Marshall. Marshall beat Komander in a Proving Ground match last week and the Board of Directors decided that for Episode 100, Marshall will be taking his shot! Next week!

Eight Man Tag Team Match: Katsuyori Shibata, Komander & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) defeat Colby Carter, Rosario Grillo & The Stew Crew (Dylan Stewart & Zach Stewart)

When it was announced that Shibata and the Outrunners would be in action this week, it was not mentioned that it was in a match this big! Shibata, Komander and the Outrunners all going to be getting a workout against Carter, Grillo and (sigh) The Stew Crew. Terrible name for two decent workers.

Anyway, the match started with several feeling out processes. Komander toyed with Dylan for a while before isolating him and tagging in Floyd. Floyd and Dylan matched up better size wise, so tey began slobbering the knocker and punching and chopping each other before Magnum tagged in for a double atomic drop and some posing. Carter tried to help, but fell victim to an atomic drop as well.

At this point I should mention that the announce team did not seem to know which Stewart was which, so whoever was in the ring was referred to as “one half of the Stew Crew.” So, one half of the Stew Crew isolated Magnum away from his team and Carter locked in a sleeper. Carter was actually really impressive in this match, I hope we see more of him.

Grillo on the other hand, made the mistake of teasing Floyd on the outside, enraging the Outrunner who tagged in to teach him a lesson in powerslams. The other members of Grillos team tried to help, but they all recieved big body spam, er, slams as well.

Finally, Shibata was tagged in to show Grillo why they call him The Wrestler (spoiler alert: It’s because he’s a wrestler). Shibata knocked Grillo into the corner and Komander hit a big 450 splash on him. Shibata, still the legal man, rolled up Grillo and got the win for his team.

-A Shane Taylor promo aired next. Taylor rand down how he’s fought for his life all his life and it wasn’t over until someone quit. This is the Shane Taylor Era in wrestling and they are damn sure going to fight all comers.

The Beast Mortos defeated Tony Nese (w/Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods & Mark Sterling)

The Beast Mortos against Tony Nese means a whole lot of muscle in the ring. Neither of these guys have been seen recently on ROH. Mortos has been causing chaos on Collision and Dynamite since August when he lost to then ROH World Champion Mark Brisco. Nese was out for a while enjoying newfound fatherhood and his last singles match was on the very same taping. These guys both enjoy hitting people very hard, so this should please Shane Taylor and be a fight.

Sterling came down to the ring yapping his usual yap, pushing the Premier Athletes shirt and trying to get the crowd to say the Athletes rule. The crowd missed the memo though and shouted “suck” instead of rule. Mortos entered growling like the beast he is.

Mortos was riled up off the top, stamping his feet in the corner and wasting no time in locking up with Nese. Mortos started throwing potatoes which left Nese a little confused as he’s used to a more technical style. He lowered himself to throwing a boot to the gut though. Mortos bounced back though, no selling a bunch of shoulder blocks from the ropes.

Nese changed his tactics and tried to take out Mortos’ legs. It did not work. Nese went to the top rope and tried a splash, but Mortos kinda caught him and Nese ended up on the mat. Mortos used that to his advantage and delivered some powerslams. Mortos went up top, but Nese was pulled out of the ring by his teammates on the outside. So Mortos changed direction and jumped from the top turnbuckle onto the whole group.

Mortos then began stalking Sterling on the outside, but Nese interrupted so Mortos turned his aggression to him. Mortos sent Nese into the steel steps and Woods stepped up. He was a little aafraid to engage Mortos though, so Mortos tossed Nese back in the ring. Nese slipped back out and Woods caused a distraction so Nese could hit Mortos with a superkick.

Back in the ring, Nese tried chopping Mortos, which is kinda like feeding a gremlin after midnight. Mortos only got madder and tried to hit Nese on the ropes, but Nese pulled it down and Mortos missed and ended up on the outside. Nese distracted the ref while Woods, Sterling and Daivari laid into Mortos.

Nese then pulled Mortos back into the ring and laid in a sleeper. I don’t think Beasts sleep, so it didn’t work. Nese went for a triangle moonsault, but missed. Mortos took advantage and delivered three straight backbreakers to Nese. A massive headbutt dazed Nese as Woods tried to grab Mortos’ ankle from the outside. The ref caught it this time and ejected Woods from ringside.

Mortos hit a terrifying modified spiked pile driver and mercifully Nese stayed down for the three count.

-MxM Collective joined us next from backstage. They congratulated the ROH Tag Team Champions the Sons of Texas on their title defense in the Tokyodome. MxM believe that they are next in line for a shot at the titles and they are deathly serious about it. They then stared deep into my soul as the segment ended. I need a shower.

Blake Christian defeated Parker Li

Christian has been rapidly rising in the ranks of ROH (boy that’s a lot of R’s) recently (one more!), having been in the Six Man Survival of The Fittest match at Final Battle for the ROH TV Title, and picking up wins over AR Fox and Aaron Solo respectively. Li, sadly, has not been out managing Elvis and has instead been making a name on the indies. This is Li’s second ROH match and his first solo outing.

The crowd chanted for hometown hero Li, which just annoyed Christian. The word of the day in this match was SPEED. These two flew around the ring off the top with Christian getting the better of Li, who thought it would be a good idea to tease Christian. Christian responded by throwing him out of the ring and diving through the ropes.

Back inthe ring, Christian hit a springboard clothesline off the top rope and posed. He seems to have really embraced posing. Christian put Li in a headlock and dragged him to the mat. Li fought out, but left himself open for the extremely technical kick to the face. And more posing.

Li managed to get some offense in, matching Christian’s agility, but the resurgence was short lived as Christian set him up on the ropes and hit a big knee to the back of Li’s head. Christian dragged him to the middle of the ring and pinned him for the win to get his third victory in a row.

-Footage was shown next of ROH Womens Champion Athena’s latest match in Stardom over in Japan. She won, of course and told the Japanese fans that she has always wanted to wrestle for them and it’s a dream come true.

ROH Women’s World Television Title Proving Ground Match: Red Velvet (c) defeated Angelica Risk

ROH is the only place to find Proving Ground matches and I absolutely love them. For the uninitiated, a Proving Ground match has a ten minute time limit. If the challenger can last that long, or pin or submit the Champion in question, they earn a shot at said champion’s title at a future date. Most recently, QT Marshall won a Proving Ground match to earn a shot at the ROH TV Title currently held by Komander. As previously mentioned, we will see that next week on the 100th Episode of ROH on Honorclub.

For tonight though, Red Velvet looks to extend her Proving Ground streak to 4-0 since capturing the Women’s TV Title. Risk for her part, is 0-7 in ROH matches since April 2023, including two Proving Ground losses.

The two women got in each other’s faces before Velvet’s music had even finished paying. Risk was shorter than Velvet, but definitely had a strength advantage over the Champ. They jawed at each other, both very good at trash talking.

Angelica had Velvet’s number off the top with a series of armdrags and a cross body. She laid in some punches on Velvet, talking smack the whole time. Risk choked Velvet out on the ropes and sent her to the outside. She tried a baseball slide, but Velvet saw it coming and wrapped her up in the ring apron, leaving Risk prone to some big punches.

The two traded blows on the outside until Velvet drove Risk’s head into the ring apron (the hardest part of the ring). A double knee shot to the back dazed Risk and Velvet turned up the juice, laying in some hard shots and sending Risk into the turnbuckle. Velvet put a high chinlock on Risk, grinding her face with her wrists. Risk fought out of it and laid Velvet out with a series of clotheslines.

Risk hit a 619 on Velvet, but only got a two count. The time of the match was about 6 minutes at this point. Velvet raked Risk’s eyes and loaded up the left hand for a big knockout punch. Velvet pinned Risk and got a three count, keeping Risk winless in ROH.

ROH Classic Match: Mark Briscoe vs Slim J (ROH on Honorclub, Episode 1, 25.02.2023)

To celebrate next week’s 100th Episode of ROH on Honorclub, this week’s Classic Content goes all the way back to ROH on Honorclub episode 1! Briscoe took on Slim J in the main event and as you can imagine, it was a pretty fun match!

Eight Man Tag Team Match: LEEJ (EJ Nduka & Lee Johnson) & Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor) defeated Boulder, Serpentico & The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno)

Pop quiz: How do you make a massive human like EJ Nduka even more terrifying? Answer: Team him up with a similarly large man named Shane Taylor. STP is the dominant faction in ROH right now and Taylor has been masterful at elevating both the Infantry and Trish Adora and utilizing Pure Champion Lee Moriarty to build an empire. Even if it’s just one one match, adding Nduka and Johnson to the fray is a substantial increase in power.

The Dark Order has been stalling of late. There was some silliness with the Grizzled Young Veterans and their scarves, but that seems to have fizzled out. Serpentico is always cool and ready to go with the flow and Boulder… well, I’m sure he will rub someone’s face in his chest or something. There is no storyline or advertised reason for this match and to a casual viewer, that doesn’t give it a lot of stakes. This is one of the things that Tony Khan needs to fix about ROH if he hopes to land the promotion a TV deal.

To start things off, The infantry threw Reynold’s jacket on the ground, the ULTIMATE sign of disrespect. So, Reynolds started off against Moriarty which was great because they set a high tempo and fast pace. Moriarty, who I just noticed wrestles in a singlet with the straps pulled down, was able to get a bunch of nearfalls on Reynolds but he kept popping back up.

Johnson was tagged in to face off against Evil Uno. Uno tried to be nice with a code of honor but Johnson kicked him in the stomach instead. Uno hit an Atomic drop and sent Johnson into the corner. Reynolds tagged in and they double teamed him. Serpentico tagged in and Reynolds held Johnson so Serpentico could hit a double stomp from the top rope.

Serpentico was pulled to the outside by Nduka who threw the smaller man into the barricade a few times before tossing him back in the ring. Nduka tagged in for a sidewalk slam and dragged Serpentico to the STP corner. Taylor snuck in a quick shot to the head and Nduka tagged him in. Serpentico fought for his life, but Taylor easliy dispatched him with a huge slam and leg drop. Johnson tagged back in and put Serpentico in a head lock.

Taylor sent the Infantry over to take out Uno and Reynolds just as Boulder tagged in to face Johnson. Moriarty tried to help, but Boulder stacked them in the corner and hit a big splash. Boulder hoisted both men onto his shoulders and hit a samoan drop/fallaway slam combo. That brought in Taylor to face off against Boulder.

Taylor charged Boulder who actually caught him in midair! Boulder slammed Taylor, but it only got a two. Moriarty tagged in to face Reynolds and locked in a Border City Stretch. Reynolds reversed it and that brought in Nduka to levelled Reynolds with a shoulder. Uno Dropkicked Nduka out of the ring, then Taylor knocked Uno out, then Boulder and Taylor hossed it up in a spectacular display of beef.

Serpentico and Johnson hit duelling frog splashes on the bigger wrestlers and I guess(?) they became the legal men? The ref tried valiantly to sort out all the flying bodies, but it was hard to figure out. Serpentico and Moriarty found themselves in the ring and legal, so Moriarty locked in a Border City Stretch and made the Luchadore tap out.

And that was it! 99 down, one more to go!

Ring of Honor TV live results: Chris Jericho appearance, Billie Starkz in action

Ring of Honor World Champion Chris Jericho and Bryan Keith will make an appearance on tonight’s ROH TV on HonorClub.

Jericho is coming off a successful title defense over Matt Cardona at last month’s Final Battle and will face Dax Harwood in non-title action on Saturday’s AEW Collision.

After failing to upend ROH Women’s World Champion Athena at Final Battle, Billie Starkz will return to action.

Ahead of her non-title challenge of AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May Saturday, Harley Cameron will face Trish Adora while ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet will offer up a Proving Ground challenge.

Former GCW Champion Blake Christian will look to get some momentum as he takes on Serpentico.

Gates of Agony will battle Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty while MxM Collection will face a team to be named.

The show is rounded out by Rachael Ellering vs. Queen Aminata, and Griff Garrison vs. Boulder of the Iron Savages.

**********

The 98th episode of ROH on Honorclub is just two away from the milestone episode #100. Will we hear about plans for a big celebration? Or will Shane Taylor Productions just beat up a bunch of people? Let’s find out!

Trish Adora (w/Shane Taylor) defeated Harley Cameron

This is a tough one for me. I like Adora, but I ADORE Cameron. Since joining up with STP (along with the Infantry) Adora has been hitting the gas and scoring victories over the likes of Rachel Ellering. Cameron, since arriving in ROH/AEW has been amazing at everything she’s done and should hold all the titles. Yes, ALL the titles. These two are both at the top of their game, so this promises to be a standout match to kick off the evening.

An enthusiastic Code of Honor started things off as they locked up. Cameron sent Adora to the ropes with a hip toss before setting her up in the corner. Adora reversed a monkey flip attempt and laid out Cameron with a huge boot followed by a big german suplex. Adora caught Cameron with a spinning backbreaker showing off her new aggression brought to you by Shane Taylor Promotions.

Cameron found herself caught by Adora in a modified submission move that ended in a two-count. She tried again, but Cameron reversed it and managed to get a suplex on the bigger Adora. Cameron drove Adora’s head into the turnbuckle followed by a Shining Wizard to get a two.

Adora scooped Cameron up, but Cameron wiggled out. Adora landed a Lariat Tubman and that was it for Cameron. The Infantry joined her in the ring for a celebration. Cameron continued to be great, despite this setback.

Blake Christian defeated Serpentico

Christian made a big impact in the NJPW Best of the Super Junior tournament in 2024, but has yet to turn that into ROH success. He did pick up a win over AR Fox on Boxing Day though and was one of the last standing in the Survival Of The Fittest Six Way Elimination match for the ROH TV Title at Final Battle. Serpentico? He’s been chilling. It’s been about a month since he defeated Sidney Akeem, so he’s due for something big. Or he’s not. Either way, he’s cool.

Christian gave Serpentico a boot to the face to start things off, but the luchadore was able to bounce back (literally, he’s a luchadore after all) and put Christian on his back. The speed picked up from there and the two went back and forth, bouncing off the ropes until Serpentico slid outside for a breather. Christian didn’t let him stay long though, diving through the ropes onto him.

Christian wailed on Serpentico on the outside, sending him into the barricades and steps until Serpentico was able to return the favor. Christian caught him though and stomped his head on the steel steps. Christian then mocked Serpentico very, very softly.

Back in the ring, Christian went for a springboard 450, but faked out the crowd, flipping the bird. Serpentico tried a quick rollup while Christian was playing to the crowd, but only got the two. Christian hit Serpentico’s face off the turnbuckle and followed it up with a one-armed slam. Christian tried messing with Serpentico’s mask and delivered a big DDT and running knees to the back of the head. That was enough and Christian got the pin and the win.

Beefcake Boulder defeated Griff Garrison (w/Cole Karter)

Putting Boulder and Garrison across the ring from each other is kind of like watching a Kansas City Chiefs game. You know exactly what’s going to happen, but it’s kinda fun to watch the opponent try and figure out how to stop it anyway. The real story here is the return of Garrison’s tag partner, Karter who has been out for months with an injury. Garrison has been doing his thing solo, but Boulder rarely has a singles outing. So even if exactly what you expect to happen happens, it’s still a fun thing to watch.

Boulder obviously had the size advantage, but Garrison’s speed and agility kept him in the match. Garrison tried to take the fight to Boulder, but that just got himt thrown at the ground. A lot. Boulder hoisted him up on his shoulder and Garrison went for a sleeper. Boulder had none of that though and tossed him off.

Garrison at one point hit Boulder with a forearm and managed to hurt himself more than the big man. Switching tactics he tried working Boulder’s shoulder, but that just led to Boulder dropping the straps and slamming Garrison to the ground before hitting four big splashes in the corner. He followed that up with a side slam that flattened Garrison.

Boulder headed up to the second rope, but Karter distracted him allowing Garrison to pull him off the ropes. it didn’t do much and Boulder flattened him with a Boulderdash and that was it. Boulder took the win back to his modest studio apartment in Titty City.

Billie Starkz defeated Brittany Jade

The Ballad of Billie Starkz

Billie is young, a big number Minion yet trained
Contracted by Athena to play her mind games.
Billie can’t break away, no she can’t break free
no matter how bummed about it she looks on TV.

CHORUS:
Billie’s a Minion and Athena don’t care.
Billie’s a Minion and Athena don’t care.
Billie’s a Minion and Athena don’t care.
Billie’s a Minion here to stay.

With that sung, er said, Starkz takes on Jade in what appears to be her yearly ROH match. Jade took on Leyla Hirsch & Rachael Ellering in a tag match in 2024 and lost a Proving Ground match to Athena in 2023.

Stakrz had Jade’s number right off the top. Jade did her best, but Starkz reversed everything she threw at her. Starkz even got in the Ref’s face after being told to stop stomping Jade’s head. The nerve.

Jade, who was trained by Caprice Coleman, did not quit, getting Starkz up on the turnbuckle for an attempted superplex. Starkz reversed it and climbed up for a swan dive. That was it, see you next year Jade! A squash for sure, but it’s always good to see Starkz in action!

Queen Aminata defeated Rachael Ellering

This match should boil down to Ellering’s technical prowess and sheer strength vs Aminada’s agility and gigantic hip attack. Ellering went 5-9 in 2024 but had some injury setbacks along the way. Aminata went 24-17 in the same time period, including being a finalist in the tournament to crown the inaugural ROH Women’s World Television Champion (which was won through trickery by Billie Starkz). A win here would be a step up for both, perhaps in the direction of ROH Women’s Forever Champion, Athena.

The two locked up off the top, resulting in Ellering powering out of an Aminata hold. Aminata went for a drop down, but Ellering calmly stepped over her and picked her up for a gutwrench suplex. Aminata rolled out of the ring to collect herself. Ellering, having a lot of fun, held the ropes for her to get back in.

Aminata caught Ellering in a headlock, but again Ellering powered out. She then hit a Squish senton, but it only drew a two-count. Aminata got back to her feet and planted one of them in Ellering’s face. She followed that up with a huge boot to Ellering in the corner.

The fun stopped after that. The two traded blows in a very serious way until Aminata smashed Ellering so hard she was able to get a pin with a Headbutt. An abrupt end, but still a fun match. After the match, Aminata showed respect and checked on Ellering making sure she was OK.

ROH Classic Match: ROH Women Of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai vs Hazuki w/Hana Kimura & Kagetsu (30.06.2018 Fairfax, Virginia, USA)

Sakai was the original ROH Women of Honor Champion and kept it for 251 days, making her the longest-reigning holder of that title until it was deactivated in 2020.  At 53 years of age, she still competes, her most recent matches being in December for GCW and New Texas Pro. Hazuki starred in Stardom as HZK but changed her name around the time of this match. At the time, she was part of Odeo Tai under Kagetsu’s leadership and included the late Hana Kimura, who tragically took her own life over internet bullying. It’s important that people remember Kimura and what happened to her. Watching this match is a good way to do that.

MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden) defeated The Dawsons (Dave Dawson & Zane Dawson)

Mansoor and Madden have become fan favourites in the last year, in spite of not actually doing all that much. They are really entertaining though and for a minute it looked like Johnny TV was about to sign up with them. That seems to have cooled, but after Final Battle, Danhausen is who they should really be worried about. The Dawsons live in a small New England creekside town and their childhood best friends sneak in their bedroom windows to watch movies every night. That may not be true, but in my mind it definitely is. #PaceyWasRight

Madden offered his tip to the bearded Dawson, but he refused. His name is Zane, and he tied up with Madden, showing that he was actually close to his size and strength. Madden offered the tip again, and Zane considered it but ended up chopping Madden instead. He no sold that and returned a chop, sending Zane to the mat.

Mansoor tagged in and the two double posed and double teamed Zane. Zane tagged in Dave (best wrestler name ever) and Dave took on the smaller Mansoor, getting a big slam and bringing his brother back in for a double team. Mansoor was able to avoid it and get a hot tag, er tip, to MAdden who came in and cleaned house.

All four men hit the ring and Madden dispatched Dave so that he and Mansoor could hit a Centerfold on Zane. That got them the win, a touch of the tips and a whole lot of posing.

ROH Women’s World Television Title Proving Ground Match: Red Velvet [c] defeated Jazmyne Hao

Velvet has been ROH Women’s TV Champion for 167+ days now, with a handful of defenses to her name. She’d have more, but she’s yet to lose a Proving Ground match, of which she’s taken on the likes of Lady Frost and Allysin Kay. Trying to get to the time limit of ten minutes or score a pinfall or submission to earn a future title shot is Hao, another Caprice Coleman student making her ROH debut.

Of similar size, it was a feeling out process for the two women off the top. Hao had Velvet in a waistlock, but Velvet reversed it and sent her to the corner for a pummelling. Velvet hit a drop toe hold to hang Hao up in the ropes. Velvet nailed her with some double knees and called for Mama’s Kitchen. Hao fought back though, going up top, but missing the splash.

Velvet hit Hao with a singe right hand smack in the face and knocked her clean out. Velvet got the pin, dashing Hao’s title shot hopes.

-QT Marshall showed up for some reason. He talked about dodging Lexy Nair who totally has a crush on him. Marshall reminded us he earned a shot at Komander’s ROH TV Title. Marshall will cash that shot in next week and promised to win that title.

Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor) defeated Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)

Shane Taylor Promotions is the most dominant faction in ROH (and arguably AEW, or even wrestling). With Taylor and Moriarty as the anchors, they have taken over and taken out just about everyone they have faced. That should probably be the case here, when they face (checks notes)… oh, wait. Cage of Agony? Oh damn, Liona and Kaun are scary and brutal enough that they might be a team who can get one over on STP and put themselves in title contention!

Moriarty and Kaun started things off, with Kaun’s power edge giving him control of the pace. Kaun surprised Moriarty by taking him to the mat and starting to wrestle a technical style against the Pure Champion. Eventually though, it went back to hitting. Hard hitting from Kaun to Moriarty. That brought in Taylor who jawed at Liona before tying up with Kaun. Taylor encouraged Kaun to hit him and then destroyed him with a huge lariat.

Taylor smashed Kaun with some huge knees, causing Liona to jump in to break up a pin attempt. Moriarty jumped back in and STP continued to isolate Kaun, leaving Liona on the outside until a double hot tag brought Taylor and Liona in. The two literally ran at each other and bounced off for about 30 seconds. Liona then got Taylor up for a Samoan Drop if you can believe it (I can, I saw it).

Gates of Agony sent Taylor to the outside and double teamed Moriarty, but they couldn’t finish the job. Taylor hopped back in, but Liona sent him to the outside and hit him with a cannonball. Suddenly, a wild Trish Adora appeared and disrtracted the ref. That allowed the Infantry to come in and superkick Kaun into next week. Moriarty rolled up a groggy Kaun and got the win for STP, ending Gates of Agony’s 18-match win streak.

-To wrap up a pretty great night of wrestling, ROH World Champion “The Nueve” Chris Jericho graced us with his presence in the ROH Ring. Also, Bryan Keith was there. Jericho grabbed a mic and called the crowd idiots! “Stupid North Carolina Morons” to be precise. He was furious that no one chanted for him during the preceding matches. He was mad that they chanted “rock ‘n roll” instead*.

You see, they did that because the ever-lovin’ Rock ‘n Roll Express were in the house! Morton and Gibson sauntered down to the ring with even more chants echoing. Jericho claimed he hates rock ‘n roll… especially Morton! In fact, he has hated him since 1994 when Morton hazed him in WCW.

Morton decided that was enough and punched him in the face. Gibson did the same to Keith, running off Jericho and Keith and grabbing a mic. Morton thanked the crowd and the show came to a close.

Great episode! The 100th Edition of ROH on Honorclub is right around the corner, so stay tuned!

*The Rock ‘n Roll Express had been at the show that Jericho taped the promo at. Unfortunately, they were not around for the matches taped for this episode, so we had not heard any such chant all night.

Spring Break 8 live results: Blake Christian vs. Joey Janela

Joey Janela’s Spring Break 8 will return to WrestleMania weekend once against as part of GCW’s Collective series of shows in Philadelphia.

In the main event of the first night of Janela-infused action, he will get a title shot against current GCW Champion Blake Christian. Janela will be flanked by none other than “The Walking Riot” Missy Hyatt.

Two enemies will complete their recent ring wars as Effy will battle Mance Warner in an I Quit match.

The unusual team of Maki Death Kill (Nick Gage & Maki Itoh) will unite against Danhausen & Ram Kaicho.

Matt Cardona will face Blue Pain while Minoru Suzuki will team with Masato Tanaka against Masha Slamovich & Rina Yamashita.

Other action includes Amazing Red vs. Gringo Loco while The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) will team with Kerry Morton against The East West Express (Jordan Oliver & Nick Wayne) and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

**********

The show is off to a late start before finally starting at 7:15 PM alongside a tribute photo for Mike “Virgil” Jones. A hard rock-set music video sets the stage for the event with gorgeous slow-motion video of glass shattering and hard shots connecting. Veda Scott and Dave Prazak are on the call.

Masha Slamovich Rina Yamashita defeated Minoru Suzuki & Masato Tanaka

Veda put over Slamovich’s schedule facing Shayna Baszler yesterday and then Mike Bailey after midnight. Yamashita bullied Tanaka to start with a lockup before tackling him down. They tagged out to make it Suzuki vs. Slamovich in a fun, physical battle with Slamovich’s shots to Suzuki barely registering before he rocked her jaw with forearms.

Tanaka worked her arm over before fighting on the floor and unlike TNA, everything is actually visible on TV. Suzuki tagged in to stomp away on Slamovich in the corner. Tanaka landed some nice chops and wanted some in return before getting them and then knocking her down with a forearm.

Suzuki and Tanaka took turns beating down Slamovich before she suplexed Suzuki. Slamovich got a hot tag and ran wild on Suzuki for a bit before superkicking him to which he responded with a hard forearm. She responded with a middle finger, so he grabbed her finger and tagged Tanaka in to land a superplex before Yamashita got up with a suplex.

Yamashita landed an Omori driver before tagging in Slamovich and allowing her to hit a corner knee and helluva kick in the corner for 2. Yamishita and Slamovich hit a double-team ganso bomb for 2.5 on Tanaka. Slamovich and Yamashita went for a double-team corner to corner splash mountain through a door and had a three-legged race to try and not fall before Suzuki broke it up. Tanaka sent Slamovich through the door for two. Slamovich was such a great babyface in peril throughout this match. Tanaka went for the sliding D, but Slamovich turned it into a crucifix pin to win.

– A music video compilation of Ricky Morton hitting Canadian Destroyers in his 60s aired to hype up the six-man tag with the RNRs and Kerry facing off with the East West Express and Mike Bailey. Kerry Morton is in the Rock ‘n Roll Express tonight and yet has no mullet which is disappointing. Kerry cut a nice heel promo on the fans booing him and telling off his father, Robert Gibson and his opponents before jumping Jordan Oliver.

East West Express (Nick Wayne & Jordan Oliver) and Mike Bailey defeated The Rock ‘n Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) and Kerry Morton

The East West Express ran wild to start before Bailey got 2 on Kerry with a standing shooting star press. The East West Express worked on the arm before Kerry responded with an eye rake. Ricky ran down Nick Wayne with a shoulder tackle. It’s amazing how quick Ricky still is in short bursts. Kerry landed a cheap shot to Wayne before attacking Bailey and Oliver on the apron. The fans sang a song to Kerry that was a bit less flattering than “Happy Birthday.”

Kerry avoided a corner charge and cradled Wayne for 2. Oliver ran wild on Kerry before taunting him just like Kerry did earlier. Kerry stopped the double-team Oscutter before arguing with the RNRs. Ricky ballshotted Nick Wayne before landing a Canadian Destroyer and hitting a tope on the floor to everyone too. Ricky and Kerry hit a double dropkick for 2 on Oliver. Bailey came in and hit Ultima Weapon to Kerry before the double-team Oscutter on Ricky got the win.

Dragon Gate Classic (Dragon Kid, Kzy & YAMATO) defeated Reiwa New Generation (Ben-K, Kota Minoura & Shun Skywalker)

Minoura and Kzy worked quickly with punches before Dragon Kid came in to work with Skywalker. Skywalker worked as a heel, bullying Kid around. He clubbed away and avoided a hammer throw to land a Steamboat-like double chop. Skywalker working as a giant stood out so much here. Minoura came in to club away with an axhandle before a back and forth gutwrench throw. Skywalker blind tagged himself in and attacked YAMATO on the apron.

Skywalker wanted to eat a few shots from Kid and took one in order to land a suplex off the rope. Yamato came in and landed a corner forearm and exploder on Minoura for 2. Minoura and Yamato slugged it out with forearms. Kzy went up top so Dragon Kid could hit a super rana onto Minoura for 2 when Skywalker attacked. Skywalker monkeyflipped Kzy into his partners. Skywalker slugged it out with Kzy mid-ring before Kzy landed an uppercut and boot.

Ben-K ran in and hit a giant headbutt and spear before a corner spear missed. Minoura ran in and landed a black hole slam and falcon arrow for two when Kzy ran in for a save. Dragon Kid hit a crucifix bomb alongside a Kzy uppercut for the win.

Cole Radrick won the Grab the Brass Ring ladder match to earn a future GCW World title shot

Well, this should be rather insane. The match included Radrick, Myron Reed, Arez, Aigle Blanc, Mr. Danger, Leon Slater, Marcus Mathers, Microman, and Alec Price.

Danger hit a springboard legdrop onto Reed and thankfully did this mid-ring to not demolish his body like Johnny the Bull. Slater dove onto the floor only to come into the ring and eat a flurry of kicks from Arez before hitting a run-up the second rope moonsault onto a ladder. Blanc hopped onto a ladder for a dropkick.

Blanc ate a giant blind dive blockbuster from Price. Mathers ate a ladder shot before the ladder halo allowed Price to get a bit of an edge. He over-twirled the ladder before falling and another competitor entered in the form of Microman and his own stepladder. Microman did the ladder helicopter to the testicular region of everyone. Mathers took out Microman and then landed a blind dive destroyer on Slater.

Slater set up a big dive over the post and delivered a flip dive into the entrance area. Danger set up a ladder near the crowd and hit a moonsault off of it looking like he nearly hit the ceiling. He climbed up to win, but Radrick aimed to stop him before Mathers climbed a second ladder to try for the ring. Radrick won a slugfest with Danger on the ladder to win it.

– Matt Cardona’s out with a sedan that takes up nearly half the actual aisle. “Broski” Jimmy Lloyd wearing the trunks/tights combo that Bryan Alvarez hated is a fantastic touch. Cardona said he was on AEW and TNA TV and now he’s here at Spring Break, but he’s looking forward to his best friend Cody Rhodes finishing his story and he’s going to finish his story against Blue Kane…or Blue Pain as he’s now known after a move to Antarctica and two cease and desist letters.

All this for a match coming about due to WWE having Kane throw Cardona off a ramp in a wheelchair 12 years ago.

Matt Cardona (w/ Stephanie De Lander & Jimmy Lloyd) defeated Blue Pain

Cardona went outside to politely request that the fans remain silent before being choked and hit with a big boot. Blue Pain double noggin knockered SDL and Lloyd before sending Cardona into the crowd and setting up a table. Cardona knocked a fan out of a wheelchair before being thrown into it and Pain sent Lloyd through the table in the wheelchair.

Pain went up top for a diving lariat, but SDL distracted him and allowed a broski boot from Cardona. Deathmatch Royalty hit a stereo broski boot and a double impaler DDT got 2 on Pain. SDL got an urn and took an urn shot when Pain moved and blue smoke left the urn. Pain hit a sideslam and a diving lariat off the top. Pain landed a chokeslam for 2.9 thanks to SDL. She opened the door for Cardona chairshots and Radio Silence before Cardona’s old Zack Ryder’s theme hit leading to a Ryder underling coming out.

The underling counted two and then flipped Cardona off for a low blow that was exposed as a fake when Cardona showed him he was wearing a cup. Pain hit a double chokeslam on Cardona and Ryder. Lloyd unleashed a fireball onto Pain before Radio Silence and Deathmatch Royalty dogpiled Pain for the win. Pain later went for the flaming ringpost spot, but the the commission wouldn’t allow it.

Amazing Red defeated Gringo Loco

Red and Loco start off with wristwork before Loco’s girth prevents a leapfrog. Red landed a run-up springboard armdrag. Red landed a nice slingshot rana to the floor and a tope into the crowd! Loco landed a military press into a standing moonsault for 2. Red landed a corner forearm and satellite DDT for 2. Red went for a rewind rana, but Loco turned it into a powerbomb for 2.

Loco couldn’t fire up a superplex, but Red sent his face down with a diving complete shot for 2. Loco avoided the Code Red before nailing an overhead belly to belly in the corner. Loco went for a powerbomb but ate a rana counter for 2. They go up top and Loco hit a Spanish Fly off the top rope for 2! Loco bragged to the fans, but ate a tornado kick and a poison rana off the top! Red landed a double stomp and a frog splash before a Code Red ended it! Amazing Red still lives up to his name, while Gringo Loco had flashes of greatness throughout it and the post-match hug felt nice. A beautiful music video airs hyping up the battle between EFFY and Mance Warner set to “Ain’t No Grave” by Hidden Citizens.

Mance Warner defeated EFFY in an I Quit Match

Mance started it off with a finger snap, so EFFY responded with a trifecta of helluva kicks! EFFY hit a spear but ate a corner DDT through a door! EFFY landed a blockbuster and an Awesomebomb in the corner through a door! EFFY hit a piledriver onto a chair pile and Warner won’t give up.  EFFY wanted Radio Silence, but ate a powerbomb on the chairs instead! Warner grabs the ref’s belt and whipped EFFY, who refused to give up. EFFY got fired up and slugged away before using the belt to punch Warner and whip him in kind!

EFFY blockbustered him on the apron, but Warner landed a chokeslam through a door bridge on the floor! EFFY is such a great babyface in peril and they go back and forth with broken door shots and then a Memphis-style slugfest mid-ring before transitioning into a kneeling headbutt war. Warner clocks him with a screwdriver and EFFY refuses to quit so Warner grabbed zipties that they’ve been using on the chairs and on the turnbuckle corners.

EFFY is tied up on the ropes and he ate a chair toss to the head. Allie Katch runs in and ate a chair to the head and threatens to drill Allie’s head if he doesn’t quit. EFFY quits to save Allie Katch and surprisingly, Warner doesn’t just attack her with the drill anyway. A history video airs showing Nick Gage’s issues with Danhausen.

Maki Death Kill (Maki Itoh & Nick Gage) defeated Danhausen & Ram Kaicho

Danhausen attempts to curse Itoh, but she counters with a double bird from a curse position. Danhausen sent her down off a tackle and landed a kokeshi headbutt! Itoh cries at her spot being stolen, so she steals what he did and tackled him down to hit a kokeshi headbutt of her own.

Kaicho came in and attacked Itoh with a voodoo doll. I’m going to boldly predict that some may not like this match because of its emphasis on comedy, unlike say Jimmy Valiant or Bugsy McGraw. Kinda surprised they haven’t gotten Valiant in for his 54th retirement match. Gage tagged in and bowled over Kaicho! Gage talks smack to a fan who gets a chant against him before Gage landed an elbow and a snap suplex for 2.

Kaicho turned another suplex into a DDT for a tag in to Danhausen. Danhausen inverted atomic drops Itoh, who sold it like she’s on a pogo stick. Gage suplexed him on a chair on the floor before bringing a door in the ring. Kaicho landed a codebreaker to Gage before double-downing off a  lariat with Itoh. Kaicho grabbed a handful of dust and tossed it into Gage’s eyes before shotgun dropkicking him through a door.

Danhausen used the pizza cutter on Itoh before Kaicho used it and then Danhausen puts a handful of teeth into Itoh’s mouth and a pump kick got 2. Itoh hit a modified backbreaker on Kaicho before Gage speared Danhausen through a door in the corner. MDK landed stereo DDTs and kokeshi headbutts win it! Missy Hyatt is out with Janela and still has it as a manager – it’s incredible given how long she’s been retired.

GCW Champion Blake Christian (w/ Shane Mercer) defeated Joey Janela (w/ Missy Hyatt) to retain the title

Janela sent him into the corner with a tieup after a dueling ALL HEART/Paul Blart chant breaks out. Christian took him down with a headlock and flex. Janela took him down on the apron, but a kip-up and gamenguri hit Janela. Christian drove a door into Janela’s face with a door tope!

Christian kept the upper body work alive with a chinlock before a brawl on the floor where Christian sent Janela into Mercer to toss him into the post. Janela recovered and landed a corner uppercut and a brainbuster for 2. Christian sent him into the corner with a catapult for 2 before they exchange kneeling punches. Rolling Thunder spear by Christian before a double-down clothesline.

Apron warfare erupted with Janela winning that war with a DDT on the apron. Janela hit a snap DVD for 2.5! Christian hits a C4 and springboard 450 for 2! Janela avoided a punt and frog splash before landing a package piledriver for 2.5. Powerbomb by Janela and a superkick gets 2! Christian landed a spinebuster through a chair and a curb stomp hits!

Mercer went to slam Missy through a door bridge, but Janela saved and fought off Mercer’s Moonsault and Battery sending him through a door bridge on the floor. Janela hit a superplex through the door…with himself going through the door for 2 and then a double stomp on the door remnants for 2. Christian avoided a burning hammer with a DDT – showing that Janela maybe shouldn’t have called his shot there. Janela saves Missy from Christian before she hit Joey in the back of the head with the purse and a curb stomp on the purse ended it.

New GCW Champion crowned at Cage of Survival 2

There is a new GCW Champion.

Blake Christian won the title at Cage of Survival 2 on Sunday from the Showboat in Atlantic City.

Christian earned the right to challenge the champion at any time by winning the Grab the Brass Ring ladder match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 7. He cashed in on yesterday’s show during the Cage of Survival match between former champion Masha Slamovich and her challenger Rina Yamashita.

Christian took advantage of both champion and challenger having already gone through a grueling match to pin Slamovich and win the belt. The crowd booed and pelted the ring with garbage as he celebrated with the title.

The show aired live on FITE TV as part of the FITE+ subscription package.

Christian becomes the 23rd wrestler to win the GCW Championship and begins the 25th title reign in its lineage. Nick Gage is the only champion to hold the title more than once. His 988 days spent with it across three reigns is also a record.

GCW Cage of Survival 2 6/4 results:

  • Maki Itoh defeated Janai Kai
  • Matt Cardona & Steph De Lander defeated The Kirks (Brandon & Kasey Kirk)
