Dani Luna releases teaser video following TNA exit

Dani Luna is teasing what’s next.

After Luna’s final match in TNA aired on Thursday’s Impact, she shared a video on social media asking a simple question: what’s next? The video started with Luna walking around back home in the United Kingdom, admitting in a voiceover that her next move does scare her.

“If it doesn’t scare you, maybe it’s not worth doing,” she admitted.

“And I know that you see it. I know that you do. But it’s not enough anymore,” she continued. “We must walk through the fire to truly come out inevitable this time. And I would kick through the crust of the Earth to prove to you that I am one of the best in the world. But maybe, maybe I don’t have to.”

In her final match on Thursday, Luna lost to Jada Stone. It was reported following TNA Sacrifice late last month that Luna had requested her release. At the time, it was said that there was “no bad-blood” between Luna and TNA.

Luna joined TNA in 2023 and was best known for her tag team with Jody Threat, winning the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles together on two occasions. They were also named Knockouts Tag Team of the Year in 2024.

Dani Luna, Tables match for TNA titles and more part of next week’s Impact lineup

Following a successful and eventful April 2nd episode of TNA Impact, several new matches were announced for next week’s episode ahead of the upcoming TNA Rebellion event.

The next episode of TNA Wrestling’s Thursday Night Impact is set to air on April 9, 2026. It was recently announced that next week, Dani Luna will take on Jada Stone. Interestingly, Luna was recently granted her release by TNA after she had requested it.

The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) will also be putting the TNA World Tag Team titles on the line against The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch). BDE and Frankie Kazarian will also face each other in a singles match.

In a digital exclusive footage release on TNA’s social media, it was also announced that Elayna Black will take on Myla Grace next week on the April 9 episode of TNA Impact.

TNA Impact next week’s lineup

  • The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) (c) vs. The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) in a tables match for the TNA World Tag Team titles
  • Elayna Black vs. Myla Grace
  • BDE vs. Frankie Kazarian
  • Dani Luna vs. Jada Stone

Report: Wrestler granted release following TNA Sacrifice

Days after challenging for the TNA Knockouts title at TNA Sacrifice, Dani Luna has now reportedly exited the promotion.

According to a recent report by Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp and Corey Brennan, it was noted that Luna requested her release from her TNA contract. She was soon granted her request and became a free agent over the weekend. There currently exists “no bad-blood” between TNA and Luna.

Luna was recently involved at TNA Sacrifice on March 27th, in a Knockouts title match against Lei Ying Lee and TNA Knockouts Champion Arianna Grace at the event.

She made her TNA debut for TNA in 2023 and later signed a contract with the company in December of that year. Luna previously teamed up with Jody Threat and had two reigns as the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions. The two were also named Knockouts Tag Team of the Year in the 2024 TNA Year-End Awards.

In addition to her time at TNA, she has wrestled for several independent promotions such as wXW, ATTACK! Pro Wrestling and DEADLOCK Pro. Luna also worked for WWE NXT UK in 2019 till her release in 2022.

Shortly after the news of Luna’s exit became public, AEW star Will Ospreay dropped a cryptic social media post using just her name and speculating the company’s interest in potentially signing her.

Visa issues impacting TNA events this week are legit

The visa issues impacting TNA events this week are in fact true.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that visa issues are what has caused changes to not only the debut episode of Impact on AMC from Thursday, but also Saturday’s TNA Genesis pay-per-view in Texas.

“I can confirm that everyone on the TNA show that they claimed was out due to visa issues legitimately was,” Alvarez writes.

One name absent from Impact this week was Leon Slater, who was set to defend the X Division title against Myron Reed on Thursday and was also scheduled for a triple threat match against Moose and Cedric Alexander on Saturday. Santino Marella told Cedric on Impact this week that he’d get an X Division title match in the future, but the triple threat match for Saturday was still on as Joe Hendry was inserted into the bout.

Dani Luna was also absent on Thursday, with Marella in another segment saying she was also out of Genesis and that an open contract was now out for the Knockouts title match. That was when NXT’s Zaria and Sol Ruca arrived. Ruca encouraged Zaria to take the match in Garland, Texas, and she did.

BVV: TNA Impact review with Indi Hartwell vs. Dani Luna dog collar match

Image: TNA

The main event of TNA Impact this past week saw Indi Hartwell face off against Dani Luna in a dog collar match. Was it violent? Yes. Was it dangerous? At times. Was it bloody? Absolutely, especially (well, entirely) on the part of Luna.

On this week’s Big Vinny V Show, let’s look at the match and what is likely to come next for the participants.

Elsewhere, Mike Santana announced when he will get his TNA World Championship rematch against Frankie Kazarian and why that date is so surprising; Lexis King battling Matt Cardona for the advantage in next week’s NXT vs. TNA WarGames-style steel cage match; Myla Grace & Harley Hudson taking on The Elegance Brand; a six-way match to determine the next challenger for Leon Slater’s X-Division Championship; and Sinner & Saint finally get a chance to just do a tag team wrestling match against The System.

TNA Impact live results: Turning Point go-home show

For the first time in a month, TNA Wrestling returns with a brand-new live edition of Impact from Orlando, Florida, just in time for Friday’s Turning Point streaming special.

With just one match announced, tonight’s broadcast should be full of announcements for Friday.

In his first appearance since winning the title at October’s Bound for Glory, TNA World Champion Mike Santana will be on the show.

Elijah will make his return to TV with a live concert after popping back up at Bound for Glory.

TNA Knockouts Champion and NXT roster member Kelani Jordan will be in action while Cedric Alexander goes one-on-one with Jason Hotch.

In a key Knockouts division match, Dani Luna takes on Indi Hartwell.

The System will also be on the show to talk about what’s next for them.

**********

Back after a month off and live from Full Sail in Orlando, Florida, it’s TNA Impact.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

Mike Santana Opens the Show.

Santana entered through the crowd while the crowd chanted “You whooped Trick!” and “You deserve it!” Santana believed in himself, his daughter believed in him, and the fans believed in him. At Bound for Glory, he made good on his promise he made when he returned to the company in April 2024 to take the top spot. And now, he’s the TNA World Champion.

Santana acknowledged Frankie Kazarian and Nic Nemeth each hold part of the “Call Your Shot” trophy, and calls out anyone from any company to challenge him. But whoever comes after him better bring the fire.

Ryan Nemeth came out to interrupt and mock Santana, calling him “Mikey.” Nic’s flight was delayed, but as soon as he’s arrived Nic will take the TNA World Title faster than he can say “Orlando Sucks.” Ryan took a swing at Santana, who easily blocked it. Rather than let Ryan Nemeth spoil his good time, Santana’s going to go to back and have Santino Marella make a match between Santana and Ryan Nemeth. And that match is official for later tonight.

— Gia Miller interviewed Kelani Jordan about her upcoming title defense against Heather by Elegance. They’re interrupted by the face side of the TNA Knockouts roster, who invite her to spend time in their locker room. Jordan blows them off, and Léi Yîng Lee (through Xia Brookside) called her a real nasty word, that Brookside spelled out for Jordan.

— Santino Marella came out to direct his authority and brought out the General Manager of NXT, Ava.  Ava put over Showdown from a month ago, and reinforced that the TNA and NXT partnership will continue. Ava can’t be at TNA every week, so she brought out Arianna Grace to keep an eye on TNA in her stead.

Dani Luna v. Indi Hartwell

It took 25 minutes for a company called “Nonstop Action” to get their first match in the ring. Just saying.

Luna sprung off the turnbuckles and hit a lariat on Hartwell, who was hung up on the ropes, for a near fall. Hartwell tried to fight back, but Luna dropped her with an exploder and hit a sliding lariat for a near fall. Luna went for a powerbomb, but Hartwell countered with a rana. Hartwell hit a series of clotheslines, and Lana dropped to the floor to regroup.

Luna pulled Hartwell to the floor, which proved to be a mistake when Hartwell hit Luna with a spinebuster. Back in the ring, Hartwell hit an elbow off the top rope for a near fall. Hartwell went for the Hurts Donut, but Luna escaped and hit Hartwell with a dropkick.

Luna dropped to the floor and went looking for a weapon. She found a steel chair and brought it into the ring, but Hartwell caught her with a small package. Hartwell got the chair and hit Luna with it, causing an obvious disqualification. Hartwell wore out Luna with a chair and she ran to the back, but she was the winner.

Match Result: Dani Luna wins by disqualification after Hartwell uses a foreign object (6:11)

After the match, Hartwell challenged Luna to a no disqualification match at Turning Point.

— Outside Full Sail, Eric Young was preaching to the Full Sail crowd about “The Cleanse” and how “The Truth is Coming.”

The System Talks About Their Future

The System came out to chat. Eddie Edwards put over the toughness of his wife, his “ride or die” Alisha. Eddie got choked up talking about their family being in the building at Bound for Glory. JDC grabbed the mic and told the crowd he got married two months ago. After discussing it with his wife, JDC will retire at Genesis in 2026. He decided to announce this at Full Sail because the building means a lot to him. He’s thankful for the last few years he’s spent in TNA and put over the locker room. JDC promised to help the other members of the System figure out who would take his place.

The Rascalz came out to interrupt and challenged the System to a match. Moose pointed out the obvious problem, that there are four member of the System and three members of the Rascalz. The Rascalz promised a fourth member of their team for tomorrow night and so there’s an eight man tag on the books for Turning Point.

The TNA Injury Report:

  • Elijah is healthy enough for a concert.
  • Alisha Edwards is cleared for competition.
  • Leon Slater has no injuries and is cleared. That seems like a waste of a slot on the injury report.
  • Mike Santana is also healthy and cleared.

— Mustafa Ali and the rest of Order 4 entered the arena, and Ali was hyping up Jason Hotch for his match later tonight. They ran into the Hardys doing a photo shoot and challenges are made for the tag team championship. Not an immediate challenge, something more down the line. Agent Zero does a staredown with the Hardys and still doesn’t look that imposing to me.

— Earlier tonight, AJ Francis chokeslammed a YouTube geek named BDE (I think) through a table. Gia Miller goes to interview the guy and there will be a one-on-one match with BDE and AJ Francis tomorrow night. Leon Slater and Rich Swann enter the scene, Slater to encourage BDE and Swann to warm him he’s about to be “unalived.” This lead to Swann v. Slater for the X-Division title tomorrow night.

Jason Hotch (w/ Order 4) v. Cedric Alexander

Ali joined the commentary team and Agent Zero watched his back from behind the announcer’s desk.

Hotch dropped to the floor to salute the System, and Alexander slid out of the ring and hit him with a forearm from behind. While the ref was distracted, Jon Skyler dropped Alexander with a short-arm clothesline. Back in the ring, Hotch tripped up Alexander for a near fall. Alexander came back with a pair of German suplexes. Alexander hit a dropkick on a seated Hotch. Alexander went for the lumbar check, but Hotch rolled him up for a near fall. Hotch tried a German, but Alexander blocked it and rolled up Hotch for a near fall. Hotch went for Ali’s rolling neckbreaker, but, in a smooth spot, Alexander rolled Hotch right into the Lumbar Check and got the pinfall.

Match Result: Cedric Alexander pinned Hotch (3:31).

This wound up being the best match of the show.

After the match, Agent Zero ran in and dropped Alexander with a hanging tree slam. The Hardys ran into make the late save, dumping Zero with a double clothesline. Jeff went to the top to go for the swanton on Ali, but Zero and Hotch pulled him out for the save.

— Mila Moore is TNA’s newest Knockout. She started watching wrestling after one of her friends passed away. She watched a ppv, saw how larger than life everyone was, and wanted to be a part of that. She has been training for about  year. Moore was upset when Jada Stone got a contract before she did, but then got signed too. This was pretty boring until she took a heel turn at the end when she criticized TNA for taking so long to sign her.

Heather by Elegance (w/ The Concierge and M) v. Kelani Jordan for the TNA Knockouts World Championship

The Concierge grabbed the mic and insulted the Orlando crowd while doing Heather’s introduction.

Jordan is trying to be a heel, and Heather is a heel, so this starts out clumsy with them both trying to cheap shot each other. Jordan hit Heather with a dropkick to send her to the floor.

Jordan chased Heather around the ring. Heather feigned hurting her knee while running, distracting the ref and allowing M to attack Jordan from behind. Back in the ring, Heather’s offense was a lot of hair pulling and choking Jordan against the ring ropes. Heather sent Jordan into the turnbuckles hard for a near fall.

Heather worked a chinlock for a bit. As Jordan powered out of the move, Heather pulled her back down by her hair, then taunted the crowd.

Heather burned a knee into Jordan’s midsection to maintain control. Heather went back to a chinlock, and the crowd got behind Kelani while the faces of the TNA Knockout’s locker room watched.

Jordan came back with a pair of clotheslines and a back elbow. Heather had a small cut on her face. Jordan caught Heather with a superkick. Allegedly, Heather hit Jordan with a DDT, but it looked like Jordan was driving her own head into the mat. So that was ugly.

While the Concierge distracted the ref, Heather tried to send Jordan into a right hand by M, but Jordan reversed. So M absolutely stopped, and didn’t come close to hitting Heather. Heather sold like she was hit anyway. M sold like she’d made a big mistake. And then Jordan hit the split legged moonsault for the pinfall.

Match Result: Jordan pinned Heather to retain, a botched botched interference finish (9:05).

That finish was absurd.

The IInspriation will defend the Knockouts Tag Team titles against Tessa Blanchard & Victoria Coward and Xia Brookside & Léi Yîng Lee in a triple threat match, and each team cut brief promos promising victory.

Elijah’s Return Concert.

Oh my goodness, some fans in the crowd are holding up “WALK!” Signs for Elijah. Because who wants to walk with Elijah? Elijah explained his injury and surgery, and a fan shouted “You’ll be alright!” Elijah has a screw in his elbow, and it’s really messed with his guitar playing. Elijah sings a cover of “Amazing Grace” that honestly isn’t too bad. He then switched up to a song about TNA.

Ali ran in to ruin the concert and make a challenge to the Hardys and Cedric Alexander for tomorrow night. Of course, Ali will have members of Order 4 as his partners. Elijah cut him off to challenge Ali to a one-on-one match. Elijah turned away, and Ali gave him a cheap shot with a microphone. Ali then broke one of Elijah’s guitars on his “surgically repaired” elbow.

TNA Turning Point:

  • Indi Hartwell v. Dani Luna in a No DQ match.
  • The IInspiration v. Tessa Blanchard & Victoria Coward v.  Xia Brookside & Léi Yîng Lee for the Knockouts Tag Team Title.
  • AD Francis v. BDE
  • Cedric Alexander & The Hardys v. Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch and Jon Skyler
  • Leon Slater v. Rich Swann for the X-Division Title.
  • Kelani Jordan v. M by Elegance for the Knockouts Title
  • Mike Santana & Steve Maclin v. Frankie Kazarian & Nic Nemeth

Ryan Nemeth v. Mike Santana for the TNA World Championship

Nemeth demanded that the fans cheer for him, and tried to get a “Let’s Go Ryan!” chant going.

Ryan jumped Santana from behind. His advantage didn’t last long. Santana caught Nemeth with an enziguri, absorbed a dropkick from Nemeth and dropped him with a chop. Santana followed up with a senton, then a cannonball in the corner. It looked like Santana was setting up for the rolling lariat, but then the Nemeths’ music played. Nic was showed walking through the backstage area, but he got jumped by a hooded figure before he could get to the ring.

Then back in the ring, a bunch of NXT guys ran in to attack Santana and end the match. Ryan Nemeth got out of there and about a dozen NXT guys lead by Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey attacked Santana. Steve Maclin and The Home Town Man tried to make the save, but it was basically ten on three so that went badly for them. Dempsey got an arm breaker on Santana, and then the NXT crew Pillmanized Santana’s arm with a chair.

Match Result: Mike Santana via dq or the match was thrown out maybe? (1:58)

The NXT crew leaves, and medical people tend to Santana. And then Frankie Kazarian came out with the Call Your Shot trophy to cash in.

Mike Santana v. Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Championship

Kazarian hit the Fade to Black, but Santana kicked out at two. Kazarian went for the chicken wing, but Santana escaped. Santana tried for the rolling lariat, but his arm was too hurt, and Karazian rolled him up for the pinfall.

Match Result: Frankie Kazarian pins Mike Santana, wins TNA World Title (0:51).

When will bookers realize that all these cheap finishes do is make fans hate the promotion?

What an absolute slap in the face to anyone who got invested in the Mike Santana storyline. If they were going to screw Santana this quickly, they might as well have done it while everyone was walking out of the main event at Bound for Glory. Tonight was an absolute garbage fire and I’d imagine any goodwill built up by this company was flushed down the toilet with the ending tonight.

Oh but Turning Point is tomorrow night. Whatever.

Also, Full Sail was dark and it looked like there were many empty seats in the arena. I don’t know who Tony Condello is, but this looked like a WCW Saturday Night taping from 1992, but with an LED board and more lights.

Replacement set for Masha Slamovich indie match, TNA Victory Road update

With Masha Slamovich being pulled from the show, Shayna Baszler has a new opponent for her Prestige Wrestling debut.

Prestige Wrestling has announced that Baszler vs. Dani Luna will now take place at the promotion’s October 5 event in Portland, Oregon. Slamovich, who was originally scheduled to be Baszler’s opponent, was removed from the booking on Tuesday after domestic violence allegations against her emerged on social media.

Slamovich is accused of physically and emotionally abusing her former boyfriend AKIRA, a wrestler who previously competed for MLW. TNA Wrestling — which employs Slamovich — say they take the allegations very seriously and have opened an internal investigation.

A Knockouts Championship match with Slamovich challenging Ash By Elegance had been set for TNA’s Victory Road special this Friday. TNA’s website has taken down its article promoting the match.

Indie promotion West Coast Pro has also pulled Slamovich from an upcoming booking.

The October 5 Prestige show is Baszler’s first post-WWE indie match. She was released by WWE back in May but did recently make an appearance for the company at NXT Homecoming. Though WWE would like Baszler back full-time as a coach or producer, there is nothing in place at the moment and her Homecoming appearance was just a one-off.

Luna competes for TNA and is a former Knockouts Tag Team Champion for the promotion.

Prestige is one of the top independent wrestling companies in the Pacific Northwest but has announced that it will be going on an indefinite hiatus after it completes its next four events.

Six-woman tag match, Tessa Blanchard segment set for live TNA Impact

A couple of new announcements have been made for this Thursday’s live edition of TNA Impact.

Genesis was Blanchard’s first match for TNA since returning to the promotion. Grace — who is expected to be joining WWE — finished up with TNA at the PPV.

Slamovich is the current TNA Knockouts World Champion and Luna & Threat are the Knockouts Tag Team Champions. They retained at Genesis with respective victories over their opponents for this six-woman tag match. Slamovich defeated Rosemary in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match, while Luna & Threat defeated Ash & Heather By Elegance.

A Knockouts title match between Slamovich and NXT star Cora Jade looks to be in the works but has not been confirmed yet. Jade made a surprise appearance at Genesis on Sunday night, confronting Slamovich.

The Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas is hosting Impact on Thursday night and then TNA TV tapings the following day. Thursday’s show is the first live Impact in several years. It’s airing on AXS TV, Sportsnet 360, and TNA+.

Dani Luna on why TNA Wrestling is ‘exactly what I needed’ after WWE NXT UK run

At 24 years young, Dani Luna has been wrestling for nearly a decade but it feels like her career is truly just beginning.

After beginning at just 16, Luna got her first big break as part of the now-defunct WWE NXT UK when she was 19 — just three years after she began training.

Luna now finds herself as a full-time member of the TNA Wrestling roster with title aspirations on her goals for 2024.

In our 20-minute interview you can watch on YouTube above, Luna and I talked about her TNA pay-per-view debut in a high-risk match, her NXT UK run, and those aforementioned goals.

She believes being with TNA is “exactly what I needed at this point in my career.”

“It was terrifying more than anything.”

The England native signed with TNA Wrestling in December 2023 after working for the company during both their Canadian and UK tours earlier that year.

She made her PPV debut at January’s Hard to Kill in an Ultimate X match with five other women for a future Knockouts title shot.

While she said the opportunity was “cool,” she also said it was more “terrifying than anything” due to fear about falling off the structure — something she wished she had done earlier than later in the match to get it out of her system.

“…The fear of falling off of that thing is so much worse than actually falling off of it. But, it was it was so cool…the amount of things you can do in a match like that. If you think of all the things you can do in a match and then you add six other people and then you add this huge structure that you can all hang off of….there’s just so many ways to get around it.”

“And obviously I was sharing it with some incredible women too, lots of women that I had never even wrestled before. So that was a whole thing in itself. But yeah, it was crazy. It was it was a great time, but I reckon I’d like to do another one, but maybe not loads of them.”

The night was a big one for TNA as it was the first following their rebrand from Impact Wrestling back to their iconic naming convention. The match was also first on the PPV, something that wasn’t lost on Luna.

“It did really kind of throw me into the deep end a little bit. So many people that might not have even been watching TNA at the time who tuned in because this was the first PPV back, and then I’m one of the first people they see and they might not have even never heard of me. So, it was a really nice way and a really good showcase for me to show what I’m all about in a really exciting way.”

Luna is still early in her TNA run, but has already found a friend in Jody Threat. The two teamed up last month and Threat backed her up following her win over Killer Kelly on Thursday’s Impact. It’s a partnership she hopes has gold in its future.

“I think our goal for 2024 is to win the Knockouts Tag Team Championships and I don’t think that’s completely out of left field. I think is absolutely something we could do. I think we’re starting to build a really good tag division in TNA now and I would love to get there on a bigger stage with her. She’s one of my favorite people in the world so I would love to hold gold with her in TNA this year.”

The NXT UK years

Luna first became a fan of wrestling when she was 14 after her brother introduced her to it. Two years later, she was in wrestling school at just 16. Three years after that, she was signed to a WWE deal for the NXT UK brand where she made her home from 2019 through 2022.

She went on to say that while she learned a lot in NXT UK, she was too young to be on a stage of that level and that it was a lot to handle.

“I don’t think I was necessarily ready for that sort of stage at my age and my experience level, but it gave me so many tools that I think now I can bring to somewhere like TNA where I’m a bit more grown up, a bit more experienced, and a lot more prepared for it.”

Full lineup revealed for Knockouts Ultimate X match at TNA Hard to Kill

All six competitors for the Knockouts Ultimate X match at TNA Hard to Kill have now been revealed.

Dani Luna is the sixth participant announced for the match, joining Gisele Shaw, Xia Brookside, Jody Threat, Tasha Steelz, and Alisha Edwards. The winner of the match will become the number one contender to the Knockouts Championship.

Trinity, the current Knockouts Champion, is defending her title against Jordynne Grace at Hard to Kill.

It was confirmed last month that Luna has signed a TNA Wrestling contract. She made her Impact debut in May of last year.

Luna was part of the NXT UK roster before being released by WWE when the NXT UK brand ended in 2022.

Luna is a member of Subculture with Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster.

This will be the second-ever Knockouts Ultimate X match in TNA/Impact Wrestling history. Steelz won the first Knockouts Ultimate X at Hard to Kill 2022.

Hard to Kill 2024 is taking place from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas next Saturday (January 13). That night, Impact Wrestling’s name change back to TNA officially goes into effect.

Here’s everything that’s been announced for the pay-per-view:

Dani Luna signs TNA Wrestling contract

TNA Wrestling has unveiled another new addition to its roster.

It was announced on Thursday that Dani Luna has signed a TNA Wrestling contract. The 24-year-old Luna is from the United Kingdom and made her Impact Wrestling debut this May, being brought into the promotion with her Subculture stablemates Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster.

“So proud of @DaniLuna_pro. She is about to show the world just how good she is,” Andrews wrote. “Keep flying that SUBCULTURE flag in TNA for us.”

“Hardest worker in any room. Can’t wait for @DaniLuna_pro to show the world what we already know,” Webster posted. “Dani Luna is Inevitable.”

Luna was previously signed to WWE as a member of the NXT UK roster. She was released from the company when NXT UK ended in August 2022.

Currently, Luna is Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Undisputed British Women’s Champion. She won the title from Alex Windsor at RevPro’s Uprising event last weekend.

Luna, KUSHIDA, Trent Seven, and Leon Slater are all signings that TNA has made for the start of its new era. The company is officially changing its name back to TNA Wrestling starting with Hard to Kill on Saturday, January 13.

TNA Wrestling president Scott D’Amore has also hyped that TNA is close to finalizing one of the biggest signings in company history.

Jordynne Grace vs. Dani Luna announced for Impact Wrestling Turning Point

Two new matches have been announced for Impact Wrestling Turning Point 2023.

Impact revealed on Wednesday that Jordynne Grace vs. Dani Luna, and The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Moose & Brian Myers have been added to the lineup for the show.

Turning Point takes place Friday, October 27 at the Walker Activity Dome in Newcastle Upon Tyne. It will air on Friday, November 3 on Impact Plus. The show is part of Impact’s UK Invasion tour, which also stops in Glasgow on October 26, and in Coventry for shows on October 28 & 29.

Moose & Myers are coming off a win over PCO & Rhino at Impact’s tapings from Memphis last month. The MCMGs lost an Impact Tag title match to the Rascalz at Victory Road in their last match for the promotion.

This will be just the second time Grace and Luna have wrestled each other. Grace defeated Luna in the Revelations Of Divine Love Tournament semifinals at Progress 94 in 2019.

Grace has only wrestled one singles match since returning to Impact last month. She defeated Deonna Purrazzo at Victory Road. Luna has yet to win a singles match in Impact, having dropped matches to Purrazzo and Jody Threat.

Impact Wrestling Turning Point 2023 lineup:

  • Will Ospreay vs. Eddie Edwards
  • Jordynne Grace vs. Dani Luna
  • The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs. Moose & Brian Myers
  • Eric Young & Josh Alexander vs. Subculture (Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews)

Impact Wrestling live results: The fallout from Under Siege

Thursday’s Impact Wrestling on AXS TV will feature the fallout from last Friday’s Under Siege.

Bully Ray will make his return to Thursday nights for the first time since losing to Tommy Dreamer in a Hardcore War match. He made his promotional return at Under Siege, joining Impact World Champion Steve Maclin in putting company president Scott D’Amore through a flaming table.

Trinity (the former Naomi in WWE) will look to remain undefeated in Impact as she takes on Savannah Evans.

Dani Luna of Subculture and formerly WWE NXT UK will make her Impact in-ring debut as she battles the undefeated Jody Threat.

After making his return last Friday, Jake Crist will team with Sami Callihan to battle Decay’s Black Taurus & Crazzy Steve.

In the follow-up from Friday’s six-way no. 1 contender’s match, Eddie Edwards goes one-on-one with Yuya Uemura.

The BTI pre-show will feature Brian Myers vs. Tyler Tirva.

*********

Brian Myers defeated Tyler Tirva

Myers gave Tirva a lot in this match, and he might be a guy looking at bringing in at some point given his quality performance in this match.

Impact Wrestling

The show opened with a video recap of Deonna Purrazzo defeating Jordynne Grace, and Maclin defeating PCO before attacking Scott D’Amore.

–Bully Ray came down to the ring to open the show. Ray claimed to be the most hated man in the business, but given the heat Don Callis got on Dynamite last night, I think he would be at the top of that list. Ray talked about how he has pout people through tables his whole career, but when he is really upset, he lights the table on fire.

Ray claimed that putting D’Amore through the flaming table brought him great pleasure, and it was one of the best nights of his life. Ray said that he was going nowhere, and he was going to win the 8-4-1 match at Against All Odds and become the #1 Contender before going on to Slammiversary to win the Impact World Championship.

Steve Maclin came out and insisted that Bully Ray only took out Scott D’Amore because Maclin allowed him to do it. Ray admitted that Maclin was the world champ, and acknowledged that Maclin did. Maclin pointed out that there was something everyone was wondering – would Ray and Maclin team up and continue doing whatever they wanted? Either way, Maclin said that if Ray won the match at Against All Odds, he would be happy to defend the title against him.

The Motor City Machine Guns came out, and Alex Shelley reminded Ray that he was the #1 contender to the world championship, and he was going to win the title at Against All Odds. Ray admitted that Shelley was a great pro wrestler, saying that he should be mentioned in the same breath as the best wrestlers in the world, but that he could never win the big one.

Chris Sabin reminded Bully Ray that he said all that stuff to him 10 years ago, and Sabin beat him for the world title. Maclin accused Shelley of overlooking him, and Shelley said he was sure he could beat Maclin. Maclin asked him what made him so sure, and Shelley said that Maclin wasn’t Josh Alexander, and that if he didn’t get injured, Alexander would still be champion.

As Sabin and Shelley challenged Bully Ray and Maclin to a match, Ray denied them the fight tonight. Subculture came out. Mark Andrews took the mic and said that they wanted a match against the Motor City Machine Guns since Ray and Maclin didn’t want to fight, so MCMG accepted. This was a long 20 minute promo segment that probably could have been compressed into 6 or 7 minutes, but it was good.

Eddie Edwards (w/ Alisha Edwards) defeated Yuya Uemura

Uemura had the advantage in the early portion of the match when they went to a break, and when they came back Edwards was in control. I hate how they get the heat during the ad breaks sometimes, as it was something WWE did all the time. That said, they at least showed a replay with Alisha Edwards tripping Uemura.

Edwards continued trying to wear Uemura down with hard strikes, but Uemura picked up the pace and hit the ropes hard several times before hitting a flying forearm that left Edwards reeling. Uemura hit a Saito suplex for a 2-count. Uemura went for a flying crossbody, but Edwards got a knee up and hit a tiger driver for a 2-count. Edwards got up and hit the Boston knee party for the win right after.

–Eddie Edwards refused to shake Uemura’s hand, so Frankie Kazarian came out and said that it was disrespectful to not shake Uemura’s hand. Edwards grabbed Kazarian, so Kazarian dropped him, and Alisha Edwards jumped on his back. Kazarian shook her off and left the Edwards family laying the mat. Weird way to end that angle. I would have had Edwards beat Kazarian down for some heat to build to a match.

Sami Callihan & Jake Crist defeated Decay (Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus)

This was a nothing match, over in less than 2 minutes, with Crist hitting a Crist Cutter on Steve for the win.

–After the match, The Design came to ringside and Kon chokeslammed both Crist and Callihan, and the never ending feud of doom continued, with Deaner hitting the antidote, a DDT, on Crist. Rich Swann ran down to make the save, holding a chair, and The Design left the ring.

–Rich Swann, Crist, and Callihan were backstage, and Swann said he was not available for the match against The Design at Against All Odds because he was in the 8-4-1 match. Callihan said something about a doctor calling a monster, so it seems to me that it’ll likely be PCO as Callihan and Crist’s tag partner, though PCO is also in the 8-4-1 match, so it must be someone else.

Trinity defeated Savannah Evans (w/ Gisele Shaw & Jai Vidal)

This was quite short, and basically both of them just doing moves with little story. Evans did a few, Trinity would do one or two, then Evans would take a turn. Not a lot of psychology, but given it was a short match it didn’t really matter. A simple match to showcase what Trinity can do, as she got to hit all her high spots.

Evans used power moves to control Trinity in the early part of the match, including hitting a pop up power bomb for a 2-count. Trinity managed to turn it around, hitting a heat seeker on Evans who was draped across the middle ropes. Trinity hit a springboard into a kick and a bulldog into the middle turnbuckle before hitting a flying crossbody off the top rope. Evans hit a sidewalk slam. Trinity from the corner hit a sunset flip into Star Struck for the submission win.

–Trinity grabbed a mic and said that she promised to wait until Under Siege, but she wanted her shot at the Knockouts Championship. Deonna Purrazzo came out, said that she was the one Trinity was looking for. Trinity made a challenge for the title at Slammiversary, and Purrazzo accepted.

Gisele Shaw and Evans attacked Purrazzo and Trinity from behind. Jai Vidal knocked Purrazzo out with a purse, and Shaw took the purse and knocked out Trinity. Jordynne Grace ran down to make the save, and Shaw nailed Grace with the purse before hitting two running knees to the face. Shaw commanded Evans and Vidal to pick Grace up, and Shaw hit a 3rd knee, seemingly writing Grace off the show.

Jody Threat defeated Dani Luna

Very hard hitting match here. Luna looked very good, and Jody Threat seems to be settling into being on TV well.

Jody Threat took a lot of this match, hitting hard strikes, a clothesline in the corner, and a suplex that dropped Luna for a 2-count. Luna dodged a baseball slide and hit a knee to the face of Threat. Luna hit an impressive dead lift suplex on Threat. Threat hit a Cactus style clothesline to the floor on Luna, before hitting a flipping senton off the apron to the floor.

Threat hit a big Michinoku driver on Luna for a 2-count. Threat ate a lariat and power bomb from Luna, which got a reaction from the crowd. Threat kicked out, and soon hit a German suplex before hitting a torture rack bomb for the pinfall.

–Joe Hendry was backstage with Santino and Hendry talked about getting revenge on Dango. Kenny King and Sheldon Jean walked up and reminded everyone that Jean broke Hendry’s nose, and Santino made the match for next week on Impact, while booking Dango against Joe Hendry at Against All Odds as well.

–Killer Kelly cut a promo, talking about how if you put two animals in a cage that they instinctively fight, but if you put a chain around the neck of two humans, they fight like dogs. She invited Masha Slamovich to give into their violent impulses at Against All Odds.

Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeated Subculture (Mark Andrews & Flash Webster Morgan)

It really isn’t a shock saying this again, but the Motor City Machine Guns are just so good. I wish we could see them in the main event mix with guys like FTR and the Young Bucks in AEW. Their matches with the Bucks and the Briscoes in ROH were always fantastic. They make every show they are on better. Subculture looked fantastic in this one too, and I hope they really do get a deal somewhere soon.

This, of course, was a slow and plodding match. I am kidding, of course, as all 4 wrestlers moved so fast it was hard to keep track of. Sabin and Shelley being able to keep this level of work up for so long is really quite incredible, and Webster and Andrews were keen to show they belonged there as well with two of the greats of the last 20 years.

Andrews is familiar with Impact audiences, due to his time there year ago, but this seems like a new version of him with Webster. Subculture hit stereo tope suicidas to the floor to the delight of the crowd, but MCMG hit a series of quick double team offence once they got back in the ring, ending with Shelley hitting a bulldog and clothesline at the same time.

Shelley pulled Andrews into a surfboard stretch and Sabin hit the ropes and hit a bulldog on the prone Andrews. Sabin and Shelley hit a magic killer on Andrews a few minutes later for a 2-count. Shelley nailed Andrews with a clothesline and then he and Sabin hit a doomsday dropkick, but Andrews popped back up after eating it and hit a headbutt on Sabin. MCMG hit a double big boot in the corner on Andrews, but Andrews blocked the cradle shock and hit the Stundog Millionaire. MCMG hit a cutter on Andrews, and then soon thereafter hit a dirt bomb on Webster. What a match.

Final Thoughts

This was an angle heavy show, but given that there are only 2 weeks between two major live events, I understand why. That said, I wouldn’t book two live events that far apart. Hopefully they do not do that next year. This show was not much about the wrestling, and a lot more about setting up Against All Odds, which is fine. The main event more than made up for that with a fantastic tag match.
