Trinity vs. Savannah Evans announced for Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling has announced four matches for this week’s show.

Trinity will look to go 3-0 as she takes on Savannah Evans in singles competition. Evans got involved in Trinity’s match at Under Siege on Friday, providing interference on behalf of her opponent, Gisele Shaw.

Sami Callihan will team with Jake Crist to face Decay’s Crazzy Steve & Taurus. Also, Dani Luna will make her Impact in-ring debut against Jody Threat. Eddie Edwards vs. Yuya Uemura is also scheduled for Thursday.

Crist, a former X-Division Champion and teammate of Callihan’s in OVE, returned to the promotion at Under Siege. He teamed with Callihan and Rich Swann in a win over The Design’s Deaner, Kon, and Angels.

24-year-old Dani Luna is part of the Subculture team along with Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster. She accompanied them to the ring at Under Siege. Her opponent, Jody Threat, has gone 4-0 in Impact since debuting in March. She’s defeated Tara Rising, Seleziya Sparx, Alisha Edwards, and Sierra in that time.

All three matches were filmed this weekend from London, Ontario’s Western Fair District Agriplex. Impact taped two weeks’ worth of television from the venue on Saturday. Spoilers from the show are available here

 Impact Wrestling 6/1 lineup:

  • Sami Callihan & Jake Crist vs. Decay (Crazzy Steve & Taurus)

Impact Under Siege notes: Against All Odds main event, notable returns, Victory Road

On a night where all the champions retained their titles, a new number one contender for the World title was made during Friday’s Impact Under Siege and thus, a main event was confirmed for next month’s Against All Odds.

In a six-way match, Alex Shelley picked up the win over Moose, Eddie Edwards, Jonathan Gresham, Yuya Uemura and Frankie Kazarian. The Motor City Machine Guns member got the pin after hitting Shellshock on Uemura.

It was announced shortly after Under Siege that Shelley will face reigning champion Steve Maclin at the Against All Odds streaming special on Friday, June 9th in Columbus, Ohio. Shelley has held the X-Division and Tag Team titles, but never the big prize. He unsuccessfully challenged then-champion Josh Alexander at last August’s Emergence.

Maclin successfully defended the World title against PCO in a no DQ match Friday — one of five champions that left London, Ontario, Canada, with their title reigns intact.

Bully Ray has returned to Impact.

The former title challenger made a surprise return after Maclin’s victory, attacking Impact president Scott D’Amore. He and Maclin put D’Amore through a flaming table despite the best efforts of the Motor City Machine Guns, PCO and Matthew Rehwoldt. He told D’Amore he would take down the whole company around him.

Ray feuded with then-champion Josh Alexander earlier this year with Alexander successfully defending the title against Ray in a Full Metal Mayhem match. After losing in a Hardcore War match with Tommy Dreamer earlier this year, Ray disappeared for some time only to return tonight.

It was announced that Impact’s Victory Road event streaming special will take place on Friday, September 8th in White Plains, New York. The 1000th episode of Impact will taped the following night in the same venue. Tickets go on sale for both shows on June 2nd.

Jake Crist made his return to Impact as the mystery man to team with Sami Callihan and Rich Swann in a win over The Design’s Deaner, Kon and Angels. Callihan’s oVe teammate was last seen in the promotion in August 2021 after spending the better part of five years there. He is a former X-Division and Tag Team Champion.

Jon Moxley match announced for Wrestling Revolver show

AEW star Jon Moxley is returning to Wrestling Revolver for a match next month.

Wrestling Revolver has announced that Moxley will face Jake Crist at their Mayhem For All show on Saturday, May 6. The event is taking place in Clive, Iowa and will be available live via Fite+.

Wrestling Revolver stated that Moxley hand-picked Crist as his opponent for the show. It’s being billed as a match between two people who helped shape each other’s careers in the early 2000s.

The match will be Moxley’s first for Wrestling Revolver since August 2022. Moxley & Sami Callihan defeated JT Dunn & Logan James in a tag team match at that event.

Moxley also recently competed in an indie match over WrestleMania week in Los Angeles, defeating Alex Coughlin at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 9.

On this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Moxley is teaming with Claudio Castagnoli against Brandon Cutler & Michael Nakazawa. The match will continue Blackpool Combat Club’s feud with The Elite.

Jake Crist wins Impact X-Division title from Rich Swann

A title change aired on this week’s episode of Impact.

Jake Crist defeated Rich Swann on the show to win the X-Division Championship. The story of the match was two of Jake’s oVe (Ohio Versus Everything) stablemates interfering to help him win.

Dave Crist got involved in the match and put Jake’s foot on the rope when Swann had him pinned. Swann took out both Crists with a cutter, but Madman Fulton pushed Swann off the top rope while the referee wasn’t looking. Jake then hit a cutter and the Buckeye Drop to win the championship.

The title change took place at Impact’s television tapings in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on July 19.

There was some tension between Jake and Sami Callihan teased during a segment on last night’s episode. Jake said that he won the X-Division title, but Callihan told him that oVe did it. Callihan said he was proud of Jake and happy for him, but Jake then — seemingly innocently — said that he did what Callihan couldn’t by winning the title from Swann.

This is the first singles title Jake has held in Impact. Jake & Dave were previously Impact Tag Team Champions in 2017.

Swann had been X-Division Champion since defeating Jake, Ethan Page, and Trey Miguel in an Ultimate X match at January’s Homecoming pay-per-view. Before losing the title to Jake, Swann retained against Johnny Impact at Slammiversary XVII earlier this month.
