New stipulation match added, Roman Reigns issues challenge for WWE Clash in Paris

Roman Reigns wants Bronson Reed in Paris.

The end of Raw saw Reigns make his return, taking out members of The Vision to make the save for Jey Uso, who was wrestling Breakker in an extreme rules match. Reigns speared Breakker to attempted to flee once Reigns’ music hit and also took out Bronson Reed, who attempted to interfere in the match. The distractions allowed Uso to pick up the win after hitting a superkick on Breakker and splashed him through the table.

Reigns told Reed as he was retreating that he’d see him in Paris. Reed agreed to the match that as of now, hasn’t been officially announced.

Meanwhile, one match that was made official is Sheamus taking on Rusev in a Good ‘Ol Fashioned Donnybrook match. Jackie Redmond had attempted to interview Sheamus during Raw, but once again saw himself fighting Rusev. Officials ended up breaking up the brawl, with GM Adam Pearce very loudly announcing they would settle things once and for all in a Good ‘Ol Fashioned Donnybrook match in Paris.

Here is the updated card for WWE Clash in Paris:

WWE Clash in Paris (August 31):

  • World Championship: Seth Rollins defends against Jey Uso, LA Knight, CM Punk
  • John Cena vs. Logan Paul
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed (not yet official)
  • Good ‘Ol Fashioned Donnybrook match: Sheamus vs. Rusev

Roman Reigns & Jey Uso win WWE SummerSlam tag match

The OTC emerged victorious at SummerSlam, with help from his cousin.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso got the victory at SummerSlam, defeating Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker in the opening match of Saturday’s show. The finish had Roman Reigns take the bullet for Uso, shoving him out of the way at the last second and taking a spear by Breakker. Uso recovered and superkicked Breakker out of the ring then speared Reed for the victory. Reigns and Uso shook hands after the match and celebrated in the ring.

As Heyman’s men attacked Jey Uso last month on Raw, Reigns made the save, seeking revenge after Paul Heyman’s new group took him out on the Raw following WrestleMania 41. After he took out Breakker and Bronson Reed, the duo retaliated on this past Monday’s Raw, taking out both Uso and Reigns with spears and tsunamis. After Breakker speared both into a barricade, Reed stole Reigns’ sneakers to add insult to injury.

One of Heyman’s men, Money in the Bank winner Seth Rollins, is currently out of action with a knee injury, though his status isn’t 100 percent confirmed.

Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed decimate Roman Reigns & Jey Uso on WWE Raw

The main event angle of Monday’s Raw saw nothing but pure decimation, and it wasn’t by the OTC.

Originally, the main event had Jey Uso wrestling Bronson Reed. However the match quickly ended when Bron Breakker appeared and speared Jey Uso for the DQ. Roman Reigns came out for the save, but was also taken out as well, sending a clear message to the Bloodline ahead of their tag team match at SummerSlam this Saturday.

Reigns came out as he and Jey originally got the better of the two. But it was Breakker that cast the deciding blow, laying out Reigns with a spear on the outside. That allowed Reed and Breakker to take out Jey with a spear and a tsunami, then it was Reigns’ turn for a tsunami. The assault ended after Breakker speared both men into a barricade on the outside.

Reed added insult to injury by taking Reigns’ shoes off his feet, saying they were his now. The two, along with Heyman, stood tall to end the show.

The tag team match for SummerSlam was set up when Reigns made his return to Raw two weeks ago, seeking revenge for being attacked on the post-WrestleMania episode of Raw. After last week’s show, Reigns issued the challenge on social media, and it was later made official.

Tag team challenge issued for WWE SummerSlam

Former undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns has issued a challenge for next month’s SummerSlam if his former Bloodline mate Jey Uso accepts.

In a video posted to social media, Reigns said he wanted to “extend the offer” to Uso to team one last time against “The Bron Brons” in Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

Reigns said he loved standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Uso once again on Raw and then challenged Breakker, Reed and the “dumbass” in their corner, Paul Heyman.

On Monday, Reigns addressed Heyman in the main event segment, saying he wanted everyone to know that it was Heyman who ruined the Bloodline. The focus shifted to Breakker and as a brawl broke out between Breakker, Reed and Reigns, Uso ran out to make the save to end the show.

The last time Reigns and Uso were on the same team was at last November’s men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.

Wrestling Weekly: One unlikely reunion in WWE, another coming in AEW?

Image: WWE

The only thing that might be more surprising than Bronson Reed joining Seth Rollins in WWE would be Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland mending fences in AEW.

On the new Wrestling Weekly with Les Thatcher and Vic Sosa, the guys talk about the events that led to the first situation and might lead to the other one.

They look at everything that came out of last weekend’s action which included WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, AEW Double or Nothing, and the various TV shows of the past week.

Bronson Reed makes WWE return at Saturday Night’s Main event, aligns with Paul Heyman

Bronson Reed has returned.

After being out of action for most of the year thus far, Reed returned at Saturday Night’s Main Event by spearing CM Punk through the barricade as Sami Zayn was distracted by the referee. This allowed Bron Breakker to spear Zayn, scoring the victory for himself and Seth Rollins.

Following the match, Reed entered the ring and teased a staredown with longtime rival Seth Rollins. However, the two ended up hugging as Reed officially aligned himself with Breakker and Paul Heyman. Punk re-entered the ring and attempted to attack Heyman but was taken out with a senton by Reed, who then finished him off with a tsunami.

Reed was injured at Survivor Series last November by jumping off the WarGames steel cage and landing badly on impact. In January, he wrote on social media that he would miss WrestleMania as a result of the injury, which he revealed to be a broken talus bone.

Spending most of last fall feuding with Rollins, Reed agreed to join forces with the Bloodline to take on CM Punk and the original members of the Bloodline inside WarGames. It was Punk that pulled Reigns away from the table just as Reed crashed through the table.

Bronson Reed issues statement on injury status

Bronson Reed is setting things straight on his injury status.

On social media Sunday, the WWE star posted a message regarding his current status, saying that he didn’t suffer a fracture, but broke his talus bone compeltely.

“I unfortunately smashed my talus bone completely in half, I had it surgically repaired with screws and fragments taken out,” he wrote. “Also had some bone marrow taken from my hip and put into my foot.”

https://twitter.com/BRONSONISHERE/status/1876059554724651440

Reed wrote that as a result of the injury, he won’t be appearing at any WWE events in the near future, including Raw’s premiere on Netflix, the Royal Rumble, or WrestleMania 41.

“Please keep up with me on social media at this time. Understand I’ve had a serious injury, undergone serious surgery, and have serious implications from that,” he wrote. “It’s not merely a fracture!”

Reed suffered his injury towards the end of the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, jumping off the cage and through a table, with his injury taking place upon impact. He underwent surgery to repair the damage last month.

Bronson Reed undergoes surgery to repair broken foot

Bronson Reed is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery on Wednesday to repair a broken foot suffered at WWE Survivor Series.

Reed first revealed in a social media post on Tuesday that he was set for surgery this week after breaking his left foot in the men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series on November 30. Reed jumped off the top of the WarGames cage, with CM Punk pulling Roman Reigns out of the way as Reed crashed through a table. Instead of taking the brunt of the impact on his torso through the table, Reed landed on his left foot, which broke under the pressure.

The WWE star posted a photo from the hospital with the caption:

“On the road to f–k sh– up!

Reed underwent surgery after being evaluated by Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama.

As noted on Wrestling Observer Radio this week, Reed is expected to be out of action until after WrestleMania 41 in April 2025.

Bronson Reed undergoing surgery on Wednesday for broken foot

Bronson Reed is in Birmingham, Alabama to undergo surgery for the injury he suffered at WWE Survivor Series.

On Tuesday night, Reed made a post on social media revealing that he will be undergoing surgery for his broken foot today (Wednesday, December 11). The injury happened in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series when Reed attempted to deliver a Tsunami off the top of the cage. He landed feet-first on the way down as CM Punk saved Roman Reigns from being hit with the move.

https://twitter.com/BRONSONISHERE/status/1866675046867173407

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio this week that Reed is currently expected to miss WrestleMania 41 due to the injury.

“I believe that in this business, you have to keep evolving. This is just another time to do so,” Reed tweeted on Monday. “Your outlook on situations can make or break you. My spirit is unbreakable.”

Reed partnered with the New Bloodline in WarGames, teaming with Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa & Jacob Fatu in a loss to Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn & Punk.

Birmingham is home to the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, one of the top facilities in the world for athletes to undergo surgery.

Bronson Reed injury update: Could miss WWE WrestleMania 41

Bronson Reed’s injury could keep him out of action through WrestleMania season.

At Survivor Series on November 30, Reed was injured during the men’s WarGames match while going for a Tsunami off the top of the cage and landing feet-first on the way down. WWE has announced that Reed suffered a broken foot and will be out of action indefinitely.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio last night that they’ve heard Reed is not expected back in time for WrestleMania 41.

“Bronson Reed is having foot surgery. He’s going to be out for months, yeah, a long time,” Meltzer said. “I was told, after you [Alvarez] had messaged me that, I asked somebody there and they said that he’s not expected to be back for WrestleMania. It’s expected to be a long time.”

WrestleMania 41 is being held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, 2025.

Reed was a member of the New Bloodline team at Survivor Series, viewing himself as a mercenary rather than permanently aligning with Solo Sikoa’s group. They lost to Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn & CM Punk in WarGames. The spot where Reed got hurt was a key story moment in the match. He was attempting to splash Reigns through a table, but Punk moved Reigns out of the way. Punk earned Reigns’ trust by saving him and the two were able to get on the same page.

Despite his injury, Reed tweeted that his spirit remains unbreakable.

WWE provides injury updates on Tonga Loa, Bronson Reed, Jimmy Uso

WWE has provided injury updates on three of the competitors from last Saturday’s men’s Survivor Series WarGames match.

In a vignette on Friday’s SmackDown, WWE revealed that Tonga Loa suffered a torn biceps in the men’s WarGames match and will be sidelined indefinitely. The promotion showed a still image of Loa with his left arm in a sling, noting that he had undergone successful surgery to repair the injury.

In the same vignette, WWE revealed that Bronson Reed suffered a broken foot in the WarGames bout and will also require surgery to repair the injury. Reed is believed to have been injured while delivering a splash off the top of the cage.

As the company previously noted, Jimmy Uso suffered a broken toe in the WarGames contest and will also be sidelined indefinitely as a result.

The vignette detailing the injuries suffered in the WarGames contest included x-rays of all three injuries, and a close-up of Loa’s surgical incision.

– The New Japan tag team tournament finals are Sunday in Kumamoto with Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi vs. Sanada & Gabe Kidd. While the show is Sunday in Japan, it starts at 1 a.m. Eastern Saturday night, basically just as the UFC show will be ending, and 10 p.m. Pacific.  It’s the last major show before the Tokyo Dome so expect a number of angles. They did shoot an angle earlier today where Kenoh came to the show in Sendai and challenged KENTA to a match on 1/1 at Budokan Hall for NOAH.

– What happened in the tag tournament is that with Henare injured, that gave Naito & Takahashi a forfeit win to go 5-2. Oleg Boltin & Toru Yano beat Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste to go to 5-2.  Then Evil & Ren Nartia beat Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jado to go 5-2. So it ended up in a three team match where Naito pinned Boltin to reach the finals.

– With Henare out with a serious knee injury, Henare & Great O-Khan are vacating IWGP tag titles and their 1/5 match with The Young Bucks at the Tokyo Dome is off. It would be easy to say the winners of the tournament final Sunday should be for the titles but they have not said that.

– SmackDown tonight from Minneapolis has the following lineup announced:

  • WWE Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns defend against The Street Profits
  • Women’s United States title tournament first-round match: Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Elektra Lopez
  • Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes kicks off the episode

– We’re looking for reports from tonight’s SmackDown show in Minneapolis with the dark matches and anything off television, results, finishes, etc. to [email protected].  They had 7,000 tickets out as of earlier today.

– Our only weekend poll will be for NXT Deadline which is at 7 p.m. Eastern tomorrow from Minneapolis. With all the talk of AEW’s crowds not being good, and they aren’t, sales for both this show and a show in Lowell, MA are very weak and the New Japan shows are weak as well.  Lost in all the AEW is dying is that aside from main roster WWE, everything is way down across the board other than TNA has drawn bigger crowds but Bound for Glory on PPV was down from Slammiversary.

– Bronson Reed is expected to undergo surgery for his ankle injury from Survivor Series.

– UFC 309 takes place tomorrow. The NXT show should end before the UFC PPV starts. It’s from Las Vegas and while no big main event, it’s a deep show.

ESPN+ at 6 p.m. Eastern

  • Kennedy Nzechukwu (236.5) vs. Lukasz Brzeski (234)
  • Chase Hooper (155.5) vs. Clay Guida (155)
  • Michael Chiesa (170.5) vs. Max Griffin (170)
  • Cody Durden (126) vs. Joshua Van (126)
  • Chris Weidman (194.5) vs. Eryk Anders (193)

ESPN2, FX and ESPN+ at 8 p.m. Eastern

  • Randy Brown (171) vs. Bryan Battle (175) – After all that talk he missed by four pounds
  • Aljamain Sterling (145.5) vs. Movsar Evolev (145.5)
  • Vicente Luque (170.5) vs. Themba Gorimob (171)
  • Dominik Reyes (205) vs. Anthony Smith (207.5) – Smith missed by 1.5 pounds.

PPV at 10 p.m.

  • Nate Landwehr (145.5) vs  Doo Ho Choi (146)
  • Bryce Mitchell (146) vs  Kron Gracie (144.5) – Rickson’s son
  • Cyril Gane (245.5) vs. Alexander Volkov (254.5)
  • Shavkat Rakhmonov (171) vs. Ian Machado Garry (171)
  • Alexandre Pantoja (124.5) vs. Kai Asakura (124.5) for UFC flyweight title

– The Fighters Only World MMA awards took place last night in Las Vegas. Some key winners:

  • Lifetime Achievement: Mark Coleman
  • Charles Mask Lewis Fighter of the Year: Alex Pereira
  • Woman Fighter of the Year: Zhang Weili
  • Fight of the Year: Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway (Holloway also won knockout of the year for that finish)
  • Biggest upset: Sean Strickland over Israel Adesanya
  • Announcer of the Year: Jon Anik
  • Analyst of the Year: Michael Bisping
  • Coach of the Year: Plinio Cruz
  • Reporter of the Year: Ariel Helwani

– WWE 2k24 was nominated for Best Sports/Racing game by The Game Awards.

– MLW built a ton of its show last night in New York around Eric Bischoff and they are planning on bringing him back. Bischoff forced Mistico to put his mask up against Trevor Lee (who did not have his hair to put up) based on the idea Bischoff wanted to get people like Rey Mysterio, Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera unmasked in WCW decades ago. Mistico of course did not lose the match. He also fired Alex Kane in storyline to set up a future angle.

– MLW is now doing best match bonuses like UFC does and WCW did at one point. Mistico vs. Trevor Lee got it for last night’s show. If you think about it, best match bonuses make far more sense in pro wrestling than in a combat sport. The goal in pro wrestling is to have a great match. The goal in a combat sport is to win as fast as possible while taking the least damage as possible.

– Pete Davidson from SNL was at last night’s MLW show.

– Tonight’s Arena Mexico has a little bit of everything. There’s a singles match with women with Viva Van vs. Skadi as a lightning bout. There’s a legends bout with Atlantis & Octagon & Panterita del Ring facing Ultimo Guerrero & Gran Guerrero & Stuka Jr., who are great at carrying limited guys. Panterita is the father of Mascara Dorada. There’s a grudge match between two of the top stars as newly turned rudo Volador Jr. faces Templario. And you have the usual trios match with Mistico on top, this week Mistico & Flip Gordon & Dorada vs. Hechicero & Rocky Romero & Villano III Jr. This comes off that great Gordon vs Villano III Jr. match.

– AEW has filed to trademark the terms Maximum Carnage, Maximum Mayhem and Maximum Combat.

– Kirk White’s Big Time Wrestling on 12/13 in Newark, CA at the Pavilion is headlined by Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Vinnie Massaro, Fred Rosser vs. Aaron Solo plus Alan Angels vs. Jack Cartwheel.
