Continental title now up for grabs in Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay AEW Dynasty match

The stakes have been raised for the Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay grudge match at this month’s AEW Dynasty as Moxley’s Continental title will now be on the line.

The development came about during Thursday’s Collision after Moxley successfully defeated Anthony Bowens in an eliminator match. Ospreay ran out after the match and laid out Moxley with the Hidden Blade before he was pulled out by the Death Riders.

Ospreay grabbed the title belt left behind and told Moxley he wanted their Dynasty match to have everyone banned from ringside which is a Continental title match rule. Its addition to the bout was later confirmed on the show.

Ospreay, who returned last month from serious neck surgery, was taken out in storyline by Moxley and the Death Riders at last August’s Forbidden Door. Ospreay made his surprise return at March’s Revolution to confront Moxley and defeated PAC on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

The two have only squared off once in a straight up singles match, that coming at April 2022’s NJPW Windy City Riot where Moxley picked up the victory. They shared the ring in two NJPW multi-man matches afterward but their AEW encounters have always been in tag team bouts.

Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay set for AEW Dynasty

Will Ospreay will get his chance at revenge against Jon Moxley at next month’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view.

Ospreay challenged Moxley to a match during Wednesday’s Dynamite which was accepted by Moxley later on the show, making it official. As of now, Moxley’s Continental title will not be on the line.

In his challenge, Ospreay brought up Moxley taking him out after last August’s Forbidden Door that saw an all-star team take on the Death Riders in the unsanctioned cage match that closed the show. Ospreay was about to leave the ring and was eventually attacked and stretchered out by Moxley and his crew, taking Ospreay out of action in storyline as he was set to undergo neck surgery.

The two have only squared off once in a straight up singles match, that coming at April 2022’s NJPW Windy City Riot where Moxley picked up the victory. They shared the ring in two NJPW multi-man matches afterward but their AEW encounters have always been in tag team bouts.

Ospreay returned to action on last week’s Dynamite, defeating Blake Christian in his first action since that August night in London.

Current AEW Dynasty lineup | Vancouver, Canada | Sunday, April 12

  • AEW World Champion MJF defend against Kenny Omega
  • Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay
  • AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) defend against Christian Cage & Adam Copeland

AEW Revolution preview & predictions: We Tell Ourselves Stories

The following is an opinion-based preview and reflects that of the author and not the website.

AEW Revolution is AEW’s first real statement of the year, a new calendar with new intentions. This one feels different. Not louder, not more stacked necessarily, but more consequential. Almost every match on Sunday’s card carries the weight of a real-time decision. This isn’t just about who wins, but about who these people will be going forward.

Konosuke Takeshita getting what’s his or being deferred again. Marina Shafir walking through the door or watching it close. Kevin Knight being on the precipice of something bigger than the team he’s in. Hangman Page facing permanent exile from the one thing that defines him. Sunday’s Revolution 2026 isn’t just a show. Rather, it’s a card full of people standing at a fork in the road, whether they asked to be there or not.

These are the questions that get answered this Sunday in Los Angeles. Let’s run through the action.

AEW Revolution preview

Toni Storm vs. Marina Shafir with everyone banned from ringside

There is a specific and under-appreciated generosity in what Toni Storm is doing right now. For years, she was the division’s anchor and a main event metronome. Now, without gold attached, she’s doing something arguably more valuable: she’s making others matter. That’s a skill set not everyone has and fewer are willing to deploy it.

Storm is doing both because that is what the great ones always do. The Timeless character should not have worked at all, but Storm turned both it and herself into one of the most valuable commodities in all of pro wrestling at the ripe age of 30.

Marina Shafir has been many things in AEW. Background. Muscle. Faction decoration. Occasionally terrifying in small doses. But this is different. This is the door opening to something substantially more. Her credibility has slowly accumulated in the margins of larger stories and has led us to this moment.

There is no more patient waiting, no more promising glimpses. The lights are on and Storm, of all people, is the one at home. What Shafir does with this opportunity will define her ceiling in AEW. Either she leaves LA as someone the audience believes in, or she doesn’t. Sometimes it’s that simple. Sometimes, it’s that unforgiving. No pressure!

Prediction: Marina gets the big one

Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong vs. The Dogs (David Finlay, Clark Connors & Gabe Kidd)

David Finlay has something, something real, something that separates him from his partners in ways that will eventually become impossible to ignore. The Dogs are loud and committed, and while Connors has his moments, this is clearly Finlay’s faction in the same way the Death Riders are (were??) always Jon Moxley’s.

The others exist in service of their leader, whether they know it or not. Gabe Kidd remains, to me, a performer whose reputation slightly exceeds his output, though I am watching him closely. The tag match on Wednesday delivered in a big way with a killer closing stretch that was a perfect preview of what kind of match this should be.

Roderick Strong’s addition is a welcome one. The man is a perpetual motion machine of offense. He fits comfortably into the chaos this match is building toward. Expect more of what we saw on Wednesday, only just a bit louder. This is a fun match on a heavy card and exactly what’s needed.

Prediction: Darby, Cassidy & Strong

Brody King vs. Swerve Strickland

No titles. No trophies. Just violence.

Swerve is never better than when he has an edge. There’s real menace and an earned anger in everything he does. He’s never needed a reason to make someone bleed, but he feels slighted and pettiness is a powerful motivator.

Brody King has come into his own. A hulking, physical performer who has rounded out his edges to become an across-the-board superstar. The man was quietly turning into one of the most compelling physical presences in the company long before anyone thought to build a match around it. Now they have, and the result is a collision that doesn’t need a single title belt attached to justify its existence.

Leave these two alone in the ring, and they will figure it out.

Prediction: Swerve

Andrade El Idolo (with Don Callis) vs. Bandido

Good lord, the juice in this match.

Andrade has never, ever been better — not in NXT, not in WWE, not in his first run in AEW, not anywhere. There is a clarity and a sharpness to him right now that suggests one of two things: this is either a man who finally knows exactly who he is and what he’s capable of, or yet another tantalizing Andrade tease where he dials it in for a stretch before logging out completely.

We know these runs are fleeting and fragile, but right now, in this moment? He is a Tropicana factory worth of juice, and everyone in that arena and everyone at home is going to feel it.

Bandido, meanwhile, remains one of the purest pro wrestling treasures on the planet. His ROH World title is well-earned even if its visibility is…limited. Everything he does is must-see. Everything he does makes the person across the ring look like a million dollars. What happens when the person across the ring already looks that good? There is potential for something really, really special here.

This is lining up to be the match people talk about on the way home. Plan your bathroom breaks accordingly.

Prediction: Bandido

AEW Revolution
Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis vs. Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey, and Mistico for the AEW World Trios title

AEW Trios Champions Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) defend against Místico & JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey)

We are in a moment for the fortitude and otherworldly determination of Mark Davis, a talented, rear-end-endowed man who has battled through more unfortunate injury luck than any one performer should be asked to absorb. It would have been so easy to give up and fade into generic Don Callis Family flotsam.

Instead, he worked his tail off and made the most of his situation. This is no charity act. Davis deserves to stand side-by-side with Okada and Fletcher as a champion. A rugged and beyond-solid worker, he is the kind of performer professional wrestling desperately needs to revitalize a sagging middle-class.

JetSpeed didn’t recruit a consolation prize when they brought in Místico. They recruited a living legend, this site’s Wrestler of the Year, a man so beloved in lucha libre that entire arenas exist in a state of permanent devotion to him. If anything, Knight and Bailey are the junior partners in this arrangement.

JetSpeed has worked better as a team than I ever imagined. I am frequently wrong. I am wrong about something every single day I am alive. Rarely have I been more wrong about something than I was about Bailey in AEW. I thought the act had a short shelf life at best and was an active drag on the product at worst. Nope! Not even close! The dude is not just a television worker, but a television highlight week after week.

The more interesting thread running through this match is Kevin Knight himself. Watch him. He demands it. He got the big match against MJF, he got the prime promo time, something big is coming. He’s already outgrown the trios title, but has he outgrown his tag partner as well? This is a burgeoning superstar with an uncapped ceiling. I can’t wait to see him try to reach it.

Prediction: Okada, Fletcher and Davis

AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (with Stokely) defend against The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)

A few variations on one big question I can’t get out of my head: What can they do to make this special? What can they do to make this meaningfully different than every other time these four men have shared a ring?

It’s an honest question and it deserves an honest answer which is probably not much, at least structurally. The bones of an FTR/Bucks match are well-documented at this point. We know the beats, we know the escalation, we know the breathless finishing stretch. The question is whether, on this particular night in this particular building in this particular ring, they find that thing that separates a great match from a transcendent one.

These are two teams well aware of their legacy and their places in wrestling history. Any implication to the contrary is shortsighted and naive. Both FTR and The Young Bucks are consumed with greatness, and, with their finish lines closer than anyone would like to admit, tearing down the house very much matters to them. How they do it is where the intrigue comes.

If they go 25 minutes and leave everything they have on the floor, this match can still be the thing everyone remembers. These four are too good at their jobs for it not to be.

Prediction: The Young Bucks win the titles

AEW Revolution 2026 Jon Moxley vs Konosuke Takeshita
Image Copyright: AEW

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley defends against Konosuke Takeshita with no time limit

Here is the honest Moxley situation as it stands: tweener Jon Moxley is incongruous. The Death Riders are firmly heels while their leader is no longer, at least not consistently. The audience has started cheering him again because the audience never really stopped loving him, which is either a testament to his permanent likability or a creative miscalculation, depending on how charitable you’re feeling.

The full turn feels all but cemented, but that creates a different problem entirely: can the Death Riders function without their True Ace as the fulcrum? Everyone in that group would need to take a significant step up for the faction to work independently of him, and that’s the big blinking question mark at the end of this sentence.

The no time limit stipulation exists because a second draw would be a bit of unconscionable, creative malpractice. One of them must walk out of LA as Continental Champion. The narrative weight of Takeshita finally claiming more gold and Moxley’s potential full face turn needs a clean loss to make it land with proper weight.

This is Takeshita’s moment and has been for a long time. Beating The Ace and bringing another title to the Don Callis Family does wonders for him. He should win, and win clean…and then the Death Riders should bust out the plastic bag one more time.

Prediction: Takeshita wins the title

Babes of Wrath vs. Megan Bayne & Lena Kross | AEW Revolution
AEW Revolution (Image credit: AEW)

AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) defend against Megan Bayne & Lena Kross

Megan Bayne is a top-of-the-card superstar in the making, and pairing her with another woman of size in Lena Kross is exactly the right move — two physically imposing, credible presences who should not ever resort to chicanery to win their matches. Bayne has been ready for titles for a while now and this feels like the first step in a full ascent toward every piece of individual gold.

Willow Nightingale is better than these titles. She is better than this program. She may well be better than everyone in this match. This is less hyperbole and more a statement of fact that AEW has been politely ignoring. Willow is a singles star being asked to be patient inside a tag team. Case in point is her singles title defense being on the pre-show and this on the main.

Harley Cameron is not for me. I’ll own that fully and without reservation. Some people find her endearing and charming which is almost certainly true, and I understand that I am likely the problem here. But as a professional wrestling act, she is an anchor on someone with greatness in her future.

The Babes of Wrath have been fun enough. Fun has a ceiling. Nightingale does not and the longer she remains ancillary attached to other people’s stories — Cameron’s rise, Kris Statlander’s everything — the further she drifts from the moment she’s owed.

Let Bayne and Kross have the titles. Free Willow.

Prediction: Bayne & Kross win the titles

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla defends against Kris Statlander in a two of three falls match

Rarely is someone so comfortable in their character so quickly on national television. Thekla is by no means a rookie, but it still took a terrifyingly short time to become this fully formed, singular performer. No one is really doing it like her. She moves, acts and talks like an 80s action movie villain who is also, entirely and completely, herself. I could listen to her run down her opponents all day. Her delivery of ‘you wear sunglasses now!’ is something I’m still thinking about.

There is a specificity to her contempt that most heels can’t locate without using their opponents’ first names or winking at the camera. Her delivery is spiteful and it always feels like she’s airing a grievance. That’s the mark of someone who has done the work. AEW’s women’s division is flush with talent. Thekla came in like a thunderbolt, forcing everyone else to step up.

This is the rubber match with a fitting stipulation. Two out of three falls neutralizes the chaos that defined their strap match. It forces a longer story, rewarding craft over improvisation, and leans into both women’s ability to go a longer distance. Statlander is proof of concept as the wrestler who waited, grinded, and finally got there. Thekla is the proof of concept for what happens when AEW lets someone be who they are, even when they’re so different from everyone else.

Prediction: Thekla retains

AEW Revolution 2026 MJF vs Hangman Adam Page
Image Copyright: AEW

AEW World Champion MJF defends against Hangman Adam Page in a Texas Death Match where if Page loses, he can never challenge for the title again

Think about what that actually means, not as a pro wrestling contrivance, but as a story. Hangman spent two years crumbling, crawling back from the edge, reclaiming his moral compass, and eventually pulling the World title back out into the light. Now he walks into a Texas Death Match where losing doesn’t just cost him a championship match. It costs him everything, permanently, forever.

There’s a world where that’s interesting. This is not that world. It’s a booking inconvenience masquerading as drama, and it diminishes something that didn’t need help. The jubilation of Hangman freeing the title from that briefcase last summer is something only he could evoke. Few performers can tell that story. Fewer still can deliver that finale with the proper weight. Adding a “never again” clause is a solution to a problem that didn’t exist.

MJF, for all of his exhausting excesses, has been genuinely great lately. He’s cut the corny name-calling and started delivering his promos with actual meaning. The cowardly, overcompensating heel is still there, but his worst inclinations are being curbed, and the result is a real pro wrestling antagonist.

A Texas Death Match is the complete antithesis of what he is as a wrestler. There is no worse stipulation, no worse opponent. He didn’t burn down a man’s house. He didn’t stick syringes into anyone. MJF is desperate and has done gross things to stay at the top, but Hangman, with everything to lose, is a different beast entirely.

Hangman should win. Any result that doesn’t end with him leaving LA with the belt is misguided. His reign after All In wasn’t the best, but the solution is not to exile him from the title picture forever — it’s to do better this time. MJF losing in his first PPV defense should send him spiraling, and that’s a story worth telling. Give us that story.

Prediction: Hangman wins the title

AEW faction to challenge for CMLL World Trios titles

AEW faction The Death Riders have been announced to challenge for the CMLL World Trios Championship.

Next week, on March 20, 2026, at Arena Mexico, Death Riders, represented by Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia, will take on El Sky Team (Mistico, Mascara Dorada, and Neon) for their CMLL World Trios titles.

CMLL announced the match via a social media update, in which Garcia and Yuta challenged the reigning champions to a title match.

“Sky fly team, we are coming for those CMLL World Trios championships because CMLL gold was pretty good around our waists, you know, just ask Claudio [Castagnoli]. I have lost my hair, I’ve lost my dignity, and it doesn’t matter who’s stepping in front of me, I’m taking my flesh,” Yuta said.

Moxley added that while the Death Riders respect Lucha Libre and CMLL’s heritage and legacy, they plan to take and burn it. While Mercedes Mone recently lost her title, the Death Riders look forward to bringing new titles to AEW.

CMLL March 20, 2026 lineup

  • Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia) vs. EL SKY TEAM (Mistico, Mascara Dorada, and Neon) for the CMLL World Trios titles
  • Atlantis vs. Blue Panther vs. Satanico in Satanico’s retirement match
  • La Jarochita, Reyna Isis, Persephone, La Catalina vs. Lluvia, Zeuxis, Dark Silueta, Valkyria

Jon Moxley: ‘I would wrestle every night if they let me’

Jon Moxley says that if he could, he would wrestle every night.

Moxley and his wife, Renee Paquette, recently took part in an interview with TV Insider. During the discussion, Moxley mentioned that one of the things he gets the most satisfaction from right now is helping others in AEW grow and develop, whether they are his Death Riders teammates or opponents.

Moxley said:

“To me, I get so much satisfaction seeing other people grow as they evolve in their journey in wrestling. I remember going on a crazy ride where one day I’m a nobody and next day I’m on this crazy ass ride. To be able to take other people along with me has been really gratifying.”

“Usually, the stuff I’m looking for is not the things others are looking for or care about. I’m always looking at little stuff other people don’t look at or pay attention to. I’m like, “f*ck yeah” when I see someone is leveling up and their understanding of this is leveling up. The work ethic is one of the key things for us. We like to be active.

Moxley continued, saying that the only way to get better at wrestling is to stay active. He said that he would wrestle every night if he could, but would also step aside to let others gain experience.

Moxley said:

The only way you get better at this is to do it a lot. I would wrestle every night if they let me. I would also step aside and let the other guys wrestle because I want them to wrestle too. We’d be in the ring every night if we could.”

Up next for Moxley, he is scheduled to team with Claudio Castagnoli on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite in San Jose against Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero of the Don Callis Family. Moxley will defend his Continental Championship against Takeshita on Sunday at AEW Revolution.

The full interview with Moxley and Paquette from TV Insider is available at this link.

Jon Moxley explains inspiration behind Death Riders’ name in AEW

The Death Riders didn’t get their name out of a well-curated plan — it actually stemmed from a surprisingly random discovery linked to Jon Moxley’s hardcore persona.

Speaking with Renee Paquette on AEW’s Close Up, Moxley revealed the origins and influence of the group’s name. He linked it to his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2019 and recalled how an unexpected find of the phrase ultimately grew into something far bigger than anticipated.

“I don’t think there’s anything I’ve ever done that I’m more proud of in my career than what we’ve built with the Death Riders,” Moxley said.

“Death Riders means nothing. It’s just words put together. I like it because it’s kind of that wrestling Japanglish, because there was some kind of commercial with a jacket from Goodwill that said ‘Death Riders’ that I think was like the motorcycle guys who ride around inside the big steel ball at the carnival, which I’ve never done.

“So, I have no idea what it means or where it comes from, but in Japan they started calling me The Death Rider, and started calling – it’s a word that means nothing. But to me, it means something now.”

The former AEW World Champion also touched on how important the other members of the Death Riders have been to the group’s success.

“I don’t think I would be here if not for these people. I don’t know what I would be doing. I might be in jail by this point if not for this group of people,” Moxley said.

“You know, like a couple years ago, I’m looking around and I still look around to this day and I’m like, I’m surrounded by clowns everywhere. And I listen to people talk and I’m like, do you even know what you’re talking about? Are we even talking about wrestling? I don’t think you even know what you’re talking about.”

The Death Riders have been a dominant faction ever since their inception in AEW. Despite the name change from Blackpool Combat Club after a few members’ exits and additions, the group remains strong, now consisting of Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, Pac, and Daniel Garcia.

Jon Moxley praises Death Rider member’s work ethic

Jon Moxley is proud of his Death Riders faction and recently heaped praise on one of it’s member’s work ethic.

Recently speaking to Renee Paquette on Close Up, Moxley opened up and claimed that every wrestler in the industry should work as hard as Marina Shafir.

If every wrestler in this sport worked as hard every single day as Marina Shafir, everybody would be a thousand times better,” Moxley said. “The work ethic that she has, the approach to this game, living the life, not just talking about it, but living it. Living the life of a professional athlete, a professional wrestler.”

Despite being in the promotion for several years, Shafir only received her limelight after joining sides with Moxley as a part of the Death Riders in 2024. For the past couple of years, Shafir has elevated herself to one of the most dominant women on the roster. She is next scheduled to face Toni Storm at AEW Revolution 2026.

Jon Moxley also heaps praise on Konosuke Takeshita

Scheduled to face Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution, Moxley continued to heap praise on the Japanese wrestler while speaking to his real-life wife, Paquette.

[Konosuke] Takeshita, especially over the last year or two, has impressed me a great deal. I think probably Takeshita might be the best guy in AEW.

On March 15, 2026, Moxley will defend his Continental title against Takeshita in a no-time limit match.

Hechicero to challenge Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite

The feud between the Don Callis Family and the Death Riders will continue this Wednesday when Hechicero challenges Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship on Dynamite.

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced the match on social media.

Moxley won the Continental Championship in December, defeating Callis Family members Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada in the semifinals and finals of a tournament for the belt. He has since faced and defeated three other members of the Callis Family: Josh Alexander, Mark Davis, and El Clon. A fourth Callis Family member, Konosuke Takeshita, took Moxley to a time-limit draw.

Moxley has also fought alongside the Death Riders against the Don Callis Family in a series of trios matches, going 3-1 in those contests.

Hechicero started wrestling for AEW in January of 2024. He has never won a championship in AEW; his last championship match in the promotion was a loss to Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship in January.

In CMLL, he is a former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, a former NWA World Historic Light Heavyweight Champion, and former co-holder of the CMLL World Trios Championship.

His last match was a loss in a trios match, teaming with Lance Archer & Rockey Romero in a defeat to Moxley & Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia on a January 21 episode of Collision.

AEW Dynamite lineup | March 4, 2028

The upcoming March 4 episode of Dynamite will take place in El Paso, Texas, at Don Haskins Center.

  • The IInspiration (Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee) in-ring debut
  • MJF (c) vs. Kevin Knight for the AEW World Championship
  • Thekla (c) vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship

Three new matches set for next AEW Dynamite

Two new matches are part of next week’s AEW Dynamite lineup.

On Saturday, AEW confirmed that Jon Moxley will meet El Clon this Wednesday in Denver after members of the Death Riders squared off against the Don Callis Family on Collision, with the DCF winning after Takeshita pinned Wheeler Yuta. After the match, Moxley and Takeshita confronted one another, continuing the build to their match at Revolution next month. Members of the Don Callis Family and Death Riders came in but after they were taken out, Moxley used the distraction to lay out Takeshita with the Death Rider.

Another match set for Wednesday is Brody King returning to action to take on Mark Davis. This will be King’s first match back since Grand Slam Australia where he failed to defeat MJF in a match that was for the AEW World Championship.

Gabe Kidd challenged Orange Cassidy to a match for next week prior to the main event, hijacking the announcer’s area to issue the challenge. The match was confirmed for Dynamite on social media.

Already announced for Dynamite is MJF and Hangman Page agreeing to a stipulation for their upcoming Revolution World title match. MJF agreed to a stipulation after Page said he would never challenge for the title again if he lost. Page also suggested the two face off in a Texas death match.

AEW Dynamite (February 25)

  • MJF & Hangman Page decide the stipulation for AEW Revolution
  • Jon Moxley vs. El Clon
  • Brody King vs. Mark Davis
  • Orange Cassidy vs. Gabe Kidd

No time limit Continental title defense made for AEW Revolution

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will defend his title against Konosuke Takeshita at next month’s Revolution pay-per-view, but with no time limit.

During Wednesday’s Dynamite, Moxley called for a rematch with the twist which was later agreed to off-screen.

Moxley and Takeshita went to a time limit draw at this past Saturday’s Grand Slam Australia in their fifth-ever meeting and a rematch from last December’s Continental Classic tournament where Takeshita pinned Moxley for the first time.

It was Moxley’s first title defense since winning last year’s Classic. Takeshita is looking for his first AEW singles title since his 148-day International title run ended in March 2025.

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will defend against former IWGP World Champion and former AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita at this month’s Grand Slam Australia — one of two new title matches announced Wednesday.

The Moxley vs. Takeshita match was announced during AEW Dynamite shortly after both men were on opposite ends of a trios match as part of the ongoing feud between the Death Riders and the Don Callis Family.

It will be Moxley’s first defense of the title he won at last December’s Worlds End in the Continental Classic.

This will be their fourth-ever singles meeting dating back to July 2022 when Moxley beat Takeshita in a then-interim World title eliminator match. The two rematched five months later on Rampage with Moxley again winning.

Moxley defeated Takeshita in an then-IWGP World title eliminator at 2024’s Forbidden Door with Takeshita finally defeating Moxley in last year’s Continental Classic in Blue league action.

Another title match added for Sydney will see AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Babes of Wrath defending against Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford.

The match came about during Wednesday’s Dynamite when Bayne and Ford picked up a rare title eliminator victory, defeating the champions to earn the title shot. It will the third defense for Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron

The two teams have been feuding in various forms since last fall.

Seth Rollins thinks chances of The Shield WWE reunion are ‘very slim’

Seth Rollins doubts that he, Roman Reigns & Jon Moxley will ever reunite as a trio — unless it happens down the road at a WWE Hall of Fame induction.

To promote the new season of “WWE: Unreal,” Rollins and his wife Becky Lynch participated in an “Actually Us” interview for GQ. They fielded questions that have been posed on the internet, with Rollins addressing one post that asked if The Shield will ever get back together. Because Rollins and Reigns are rivals in storyline and Moxley is now with AEW, he thinks the chances are “very slim.”

“Not a lot of love lost between myself and Roman Reigns. Dean Ambrose — Jon Moxley — not currently with the company. Don’t know if he’s ever coming back,” Rollins said. “I would say chances are very slim. Maybe one day there will be a Hall of Fame induction where all three of us will be in the same place at the same time. I would say we’re looking at like a real, real [slim chance]. Maybe Kurt Angle [who once teamed with The Shield for one night] has a better chance.”

The Shield debuted for WWE in 2012 and last teamed together in 2019, when Moxley departed WWE for AEW. Moxley has been one of the faces of AEW throughout its existence, earning praise from Tony Khan as the most consistent presence in company history.

Rollins, who has been sidelined since October due to a shoulder injury, noted during the GQ interview that his rehab is going “quite well.” He’s hoping to make it back for WrestleMania 42, but that all depends on whether WWE will clear him in time.

AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Excalibur & Tony Schiavone welcoming us before throwing it to Justin Roberts in the ring who introduces Jim Ross to the Oklahoma crowd to the tune of Boomer Sooner. Ross got a huge ovation for his return to the commentary table.

After Excalibur runs down tonight’s card, we see earlier today, Renee Paquette was backstage and told us JetSpeed were attacked and not able to be cleared by doctors. The Demand & Don Callis come in feigning concern while Paquette brings up the bounty put on JetSpeed they put on them last week. Callis said someone…or Something, just got very rich. Mark Davis walks in with Jake Doyle (Something) and Callis said they’re going to kill some people. This leaves Jack Perry in need of two partners heading into tonight’s 6-man tag against The Demand.

Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin in a Continental Title Eliminator Match

(Hell of an opener and first-time singles meeting between these two, which is hard to believe. I’d say this was Benjamin’s best singles performance in AEW so far, as Moxley continues to shine in this new babyface run as Continental Champion. One of these days, he’s either going to get caught or time-limit will expire and we’ll get a rematch, it’s not a matter of when, but who it will be.)

After Moxley’s entrance, Paquette was on side stage and talked about Benjamin sizing up Moxley, one of the measuring sticks in AEW, last week. It wasn’t about intimidation, it was about business, as The Hurt Syndicate are about gold in 2026. Since this is Continental Rules, no managers are allowed ringside, thus MVP joined commentary.

Moxley slapped away a pre-match handshake, but Benjamin manhandled him at the opening bell, until Moxley ramped up a forearm battle. Moxley caught a boot and ducked the comeback swinging kick by Benjamin, as the crowd are loudly behind the Continental Champion. Benjamin responded with a release German and corner strikes, until Moxley got a boot up and clotheslined Benjamin outside. Moxley out to deliver more forearms, but Benjamin reversed a whip, sending Moxley into the barricade. Both men brawl into the crowd, as referee Paul Turner just followed, instead of putting a count on them. Moxley went back to ringside, but Benjamin met him by leaping off the railing with a clothesline. Moxley tried to create distance, but Benjamin continued his onslaught with a release German. Avoiding a second, Moxley sent Benjamin crashing into the steps and they teased a countout (after all the early brawling?) but Benjamin broke the count. Back inside, both swung for the fences and collided with a double clothesline heading to commercial.

Moxley controlled most of the break, but as he was scaling the top, Benjamin leapt up to him to deliver an Avalanche Superplex. Both up to another strike battle, which Moxley cut-off with an eye poke, only Benjamin met him with a corner splash. Missing a second, Moxley tried a Rear Naked Choke, but Benjamin spun out, tried his rewind kick, missed, only to catch Moxley charging with Paydirt. Suplex City from Benjamin, as Moxley kicked out after a series, ultimately catching Benjamin with a leaping Cutter for two at the 15-minute mark. Moxley tried 10 corner punches, but Benjamin powerbombed out into a high stack for two, transitioning to a submission, only Moxley made the ropes. Moxley low bridged Benjamin and followed with a Tope Suicida, as they returned quickly back inside, where Moxley went for a King Kong lariat, only to run into another Paydirt for a near fall.

Both climb up in the corner, where Moxley fights free, missed a leapt, giving Benjamin a chance to hit a thrust kick to the leg and face for a two count. Pump knee in the corner connects, as Benjamin went for another thrust kick, got caught, spun into a Paradigm Shift, but kicked out. Moxley quickly got a Bulldog Choke at the 60-second call, as Benjamin grabbed the ropes. Moxley dropped to a knee and caught a charging Benjamin knee, only kicked out. Benjamin applied a Triangle, as Moxley was about to fade, but he stacked Benjamin up and got the flash pin right as time was about to expire, 5-seconds left we’re told. Post-match, Moxley offered a handshake, Benjamin accepted and the crowd applauded.

Match Result: Jon Moxley defeated Shelton Benjamin

-We see Darby Allin skateboarding backstage, looking for PAC.

-Excalibur brings up Hiroshi Tanahashi’s career ending at Wrestle Kingdom earlier this week as we went to highlights of the classic with Kazuchika Okada winning one final time in their storied rivalry. If for some reason you haven’t seen that match yet, it’s well worth going out of your way to watching, as well as the post-match retirement ceremony.

-Video package from last week’s interaction between MJF & Kenny Omega was shown. Footage of MJF defeating Omega a few years ago in their only singles match was shown. We’re told Omega will be back next week at Maximum Carnage.

The Demand (National Champion Ricochet, Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun) vs. Jungle Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

(A very entertaining party match, with The Bucks returning to their look and entrance of old, with the fans fully behind them. This was action packed from the bell and I wouldn’t be shocked if Perry gets a rematch for the National Title out of this, hopefully one with less interference than the first. The post-match brought us the anticipated return of Andrade and he looks to be fully back in with The Don Callis Family, who already added Jake Doyle to their ranks earlier in the day. I have absolutely no idea where FTR fit into this, as Excalibur tried telling us they had history with Andrade, but (unless I’m completely forgetting) don’t recall much of one.)

Superkick Party theme for The Bucks, who got pyro and money reigning down at the entrance. They both fist bumped Perry, as all three hit the ring and immediately sent The Demand to the outside. Perry put a cowboy hat on Ricochet before chopping him, as Ricochet tipped his cap to the camera before collapsing. The Bucks wiped out G.O.A. with double dives, as Perry followed suit with a massive moonsault from the top onto the pile. Back inside, locomotion corner strikes on Ricocchet, who ate a double hip toss and triple dropkick. Backbreaker/Slingshot Legdrop connects, as a cazadora face-buster from Matt led to a diving DDT by Perry for two, as Kaun & Liona returned for literal seconds before being sent right back out and ate another double dive by The Bucks. Ricochet was worked over until Perry was tripped up by Kaun, allowing Ricochet to dump him outside. Kaun sent Perry repeatedly into the ring and barricade before launching him over the timekeepers table heading to commercial.

Perry was worked over the entire break, but once things returned, Perry hit the bounce back lariat into the reset. Nick made the hot tag and cleaned house, superkick on Kaun and Lucha Libre arm-drag on Ricochet. Liona put a stop to the momentum until The Bucks ducked a charge and G.O.A. collided before eating superkicks and top rope elbow drops. Float over in the corner led to a PK from Nick and somersault Blockbuster by Matt on Liona, as Matt connected on a slingshot Destroyer on Ricochet. Moonsault by Perry onto G.O.A. while The Bucks hit their double stomp powerbomb on Ricochet. Liona made a powerful return, as he & Kaun stacked The Bucks & Perry on the shoulders of Kaun for a trifecta Samoan Drop. Superplex/Headbutt combo from G.O.A. as Ricochet flew in with a springboard 450 Splash, but Perry kicked out. Perry flipped out of Vertigo, landed on his feet, floated over in the corner with a release German, but was met with a running Kaun brainbuster. The Bucks ate headbutts by Liona, who stood there no selling Perry’s strikes, leading to a Cazadora Cutter by G.O.A. until Ricochet hit Vertigo, but The Bucks broke the count.

Ricochet loaded up The Spirit Gun, Perry ducked, ate a pump knee, as Ricochet tried the powerbomb DVD, but Perry countered into a Poison Rana. The Bucks returned for a Superkick Party on all The Demand, as Perry joined in on the fun. Ricochet was placed on Matt’s shoulders, as Nick took out G.O.A. outside with a huge dive, with Perry hitting a Doomsday Device. BTE Trigger connects, as an assisted Sacrifice Knee launched Perry into Ricochet to get the pin.

Post-match, Mark Davis & Jake Doyle hit the ring and attacked Perry & The Bucks with Callis leaping in excitement on the apron, while Lance Archer & El Clon are ringside as well. JetSpeed (heavily taped up) hit the ring with hockey sticks and attacked, but the lights went out and when they came back on, a masked man in a suit took out JetSpeed, as Bailey was wiped out with a spinning DDT. Before he took his mask off, Excalibur told us this was Andrade, who indeed, revealed himself to be just that. The Demand looked on impressed, as The Don Callis Family stood tall, until FTR wheeled out Stokely to the ramp, as they stare down everyone. Excalibur told us they have a history with Andrade, which, I only remember them teaming once in AEW, so I’m not sure what that history entails.

Match Result: Jungle Jack Perry & The Young Bucks defeated The Demand when Perry pinned Ricochet

Willow Nightinagle’s TBS Title Celebration

Renee Paquette introduces the ray of sunshine, new TBS Champion Willow Nightingale to the ring, alongside Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander. Some of the lights went out in the arena, so there’s a spotlight on Nightingale, who said this is the first stop in the Willow 2-Belts tour. Now the hard work really begins, you get ready for the next challenger, but it’s important to smell the roses when things truly matter. She’s here with her busty bad ass babe Harley Cameron and a reunion, not just with her TBS Championship, but with the AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, so we’re going to have a good time. Nightingale said she has no trouble fighting twice in one night and defending both titles and realizes it’s only a matter of time before someone rains on her parade, so let’s just get it over with and invites Mercedes Mone to the ring.

Mone comes out, wearing a white mourning veil, as Nightingale said she always looks great and put over Mone’s unstoppable 2025, but Mone took her hat off, screamed and trashed the table. She shoved Cameron, who pushed Mone back and she stumbled face first into the cake held by Statlander. Nightingale grabbed a screaming Mone and hit a Doctor Bomb onto the cake as everyone (Paquette included) did a Conga Line around the downed Mone.

-Video of Mark Briscoe at his home putting over Nightingale’s win last week. Briscoe said he’s had one title defense, but has been spending a lot of time taking in some Continental Classic entertainment. Since that’s over, relaxing time is over and he’s feeling good and dangerous. Mentally, though, he’s not feeling good, it’s been too long, he’s got an itch that needs scratching, too long since he’s beat someone’s ass. Briscoe was tickled when he learned Hechicero is next in line for his TNT Title. Placing his title down, Briscoe mocked Hechicero’s magic ball saying Collision he sees clearly, his title is going nowhere. The Conglomeration are all strapped up these days, as the Phrase of the Day is Reign and Defend.

-Triangle of Madness are backstage with Thekla applauding Kris Statlander for having friends, questioning when she’ll turn on Nightingale & Cameron. They put out a challenge for the TBS & Women’s Tag Champions. After Skye Blue & Julia Hart do their Shining back and forth, Thekla challenges them to get Toxic. The match is official for Maximum Carnage next week.

ROH World Champion Bandido vs. ROH Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara

(Despite this being a very even match, Bandido had the crowd loudly behind him and was able to showcase a lot of his offense heading into next week. I did get a kick out of Jim Ross saying Guevara talks too much, while Excalibur was right there with the “he never shuts up” which I’m looking forward to seeing in a future Botchamania video from Maffew. The post-match was a fun go-home segment before Maximum Carnage, as Bandido sent MJF packing and stood tall. Do I think Bandido wins next week, no, but the last few weeks have made him a credible challenger in his fights against LFI.)

JR said the first time he saw Bandido, he thought he saw another Eddie Guerrero, as Bandido offered a handshake at the bell, but Guevara flipped him off. Guevara floated over a cazadora and hit a pump kick, but opting to pose, Bandido dropkicked out the leg and teased a 21-Plex, but Guevara bailed. Telling JR he’s just warming up, Guevara returned, tried a springboard, but had his legs dropkicked out under him. Bandido fired off a thrust kick on the apron, but Guevara was able to drink something under the ring and mist Bandido, leading to a Tornado DDT off the steps, taking control into commercial.

Back from break, Guevara fired off a thrust kick and chops, but again, played to the crowd, allowing Bandido to fire off chops of his own. Both trade corner clotheslines until Bandido stops the series with a leaping leg lariat, uppercut and Tornillo. Guevara runs into a one arm press slam, as Guevara stumbled outside, where Bandido cleared the top rope with a somersault dive. Guevara avoided a springboard back inside and hit an awkward monkey flip, sending Bandido crashing into the ropes before going outside. Guevara went up top and connected with a Shooting Star Press to the floor. You Still Suck chants from the crowd, as Guevara tried GTH back inside, Bandido countered into a cradle for two, as he looked for a 21-Plex, but Guevara had it scouted perfectly with a springboard Cutter in mid-air for two.

GTH avoided again, this time with a massive pop-up Cutter, as Bandido tried 21-Plex, but Guevera landed on his feet, flipped Bandido off and hit a huge knee strike that turned Bandido inside out. Back suplex into a DDT connects, but Bandido just got a shoulder up. Bandido caught a kick, backflipped Guevara and mid-air hit a pump knee, leading to a 21-Plex and the victory for Bandido.

Post-match, MJF’s music hits and he power walks to the ring with Jon Cruz by his side. After spitting his gum into the crowd, MJF gets in the ring and calls Bandido a talented little luchador. If anyone knows about Lucha Libre, it’s MJF, someone who has sold out Arena Mexico and dog walked Mistico multiple times, making MJF a Lucha Libre Legend. MJF is a bigger star in Mexico than Bandido will ever be, no offense. Thinking Bandido has something special, MJF respects his culture and country, so he brought out his translator, Jonathan Cruz. After translating the promo, MJF thanks Cruz for coming to a dump like Oklahoma.

MJF brings up his 6 Dynamite Diamond Rings (Bandido shows off his) and said that ring doesn’t belong to Bandido, it’s MJF’s, so hand it over and lets skip the match next week, as we all know Bandido doesn’t have a prayer. If you do the right thing, scouts honor, MJF will take Tony Khan to the side and put Bandido over, saying he’ll wrestle him on PPV in 5 or 10 years from now. Cruz was going to translate, but Bandido cut him off saying he can speak English, you stupid son of a b*tch. MJF begged off briefly before punting Bandido low, taking the Dynamite Diamond Ring and having Cruz hold Bandido, who ducked and MJF clobbered Cruz. Bandido returned the favor, punting MJF low and getting his ring back before dropping both Cruz & MJF with 21-Plexes. Bandido held the AEW Men’s World Title up and the crowd chanted for him.

Match Result: Bandido defeated Sammy Guevara

-Brody King video package saying violence puts food on his family’s table. King doesn’t have to scream to get his point across. Whether it’s on the stage with his band or dropping people on their heads in AEW, Brody King is coming for the throne.

Timeless Toni Storm (w/Luther) vs. Marina Shafir (w/Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta)

(Lot of this happened during commercial, the pace was much slower than you’d expect considering the feud these two have had in recent months. It felt like it was really getting going when it just…ended. How many times has a referee been pulled outside by a heel and they were simply ejected? Not tonight, apparently. The post-match continued the feud, as it looks like Mina Shirakawa might be warming up to Orange Cassidy. Perhaps The Timeless Citrus Bombs could become a thing?)

Some early throws by Shafir, who trapped the legs briefly until Storm escaped with a series of hair mares. Out to the floor, Storm slammed Shafir into the steps and barricade, but became distracted by Yuta & Garcia, allowing Shafir to lock Storm’s head with her legs and back inside control the action into commercial.

Shafir controlled the entire break, but when things returned, she whiffed on her Tiger Feint head scissors in the ropes and just kicked Storm in the head for two. Mocking Storm’s tango she’s done recently with Orange Cassidy, Shafir spun and slammed Storm, as JR questions Shafir’s pace, saying she’s standing and looking a lot. Shafir dipped Storm and clobbered her with a forearm, but Storm fired back with a dropkick. Teasing a hip attack, Storm turned her back briefly, giving Shafir a chance to hit a boot. Storm responded with a huge headbutt and Big Package, but Yuta pulled the referee outside. Referee Paul Turner disqualified Shafir as a result, but Shafir decked Storm with a shot after the match.

Mina Shirakawa rushed to the ring and was immediately waffled and placed onto Storm. Luther crawled in to make the save, as he was about to suffer the same fate until Roderick Strong sprinted to the ring as Orange Cassidy walked at his speed. Death Riders were going to bail until Claudio Castagnoli power walked from the crowd to ringside, but was held back by Garcia & Yuta. Cassidy helped Storm up and had his arm around her, as she thanked him, while he did the same with Shirakawa, arms around both Love Bombs. Quite the ladies man, that Orange Cassidy.

Match Result: Timeless Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir via disqualification

-Renee Paquette is backstage with PAC, asking when we are getting the rematch with Darby Allin? PAC said he’s wrestled and beaten Allin twice, there’s nothing left to be said. Allin storms in and said he’s beaten all the Death Riders in the last year, except PAC, so give him this match. PAC said Allin isn’t the one who calls the shots and to run along. PAC goes to leave, when Allin sprays him with a fire extinguisher and places his leg between the door, saying he’ll break his ankle if he doesn’t give him the rematch. PAC reluctantly agrees, right as Death Riders rush in to make the save and Allin runs away.

Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland (w/Prince Nana) vs. The Opps (Powerhouse Hobbs & HOOK) in a Lights Out Match

(This went 20 minutes past the top of the hour and I’m sure everyone was thankful the lighting issues didn’t last throughout this entire match. A lot of weapons and a lot of revenge dished out by Page & Strickland, as the finish might’ve seemed like it went on too long, Excalibur did a good job pointing out what HOOK took from Page. I know Page & Strickland said they want another shot at the AEW Title, but them as a tag team challenging FTR eventually would be a very fun program.)

Page entered through the crowd and drank a fans beer, while Strickland entered the opposite side with Prince Nana. Despite this being a Lights Out Match, right as the bell sounded, issues with the lights (similar to Willow Nightingale’s segment earlier tonight) happened again and we have spotlights on the ring. Having this literally be lights out is the irony I’m sure AEW doesn’t want, as it’s very tough to see the action. Strickland avoided a Hobbs chair shot against the steps, hit a pump kick on the apron, allowing Page to place a chair around Hobbs’ neck and post him. Orihara Moonsault from Page (in the dark, mind you) on Hobbs, while HOOK was dropped with a Strickland DVD on the apron. The lights came back on thankfully, as the brawl continues ringside, with Hobbs trucking Page, but immediately met with a dive by Strickland. HOOK recovered and started a strike exchange on the apron, as he blocked a boot and delivered a brutal leg trapped suplex off the apron to the floor.

Back from break, a table was placed in the corner of the ring, as Page was fighting off Hobbs & HOOK, who delivered an overhead suplex through the table for two. HOOK wedges a chair in the corner, as Hobbs wanted an Oklahoma Stampede, but Page slid out and Hobbs crashed into the chair. Strickland handed a staplegun to Page, who got revenge on HOOK by stapling his arm and chest multiple times before a pop-up powerbomb followed. Hobbs was about to suffer the same fate, but blocked a shot and clocked Page with a right hand. Hobbs lifted Strickland up for a suplex, but Strickland stapled him repeatedly in the chest. Page came in swinging a piece of dry wall, but just caught enough of Hobbs, but I think it went sailing into the crowd. Strickland then, no joke, stapled Hobbs in the crotch to a very fitting You Sick F*ck chant from the OK crowd.

Strickland & Page bring cinderblocks into the ring, as HOOK was sent outside, allowing Hobbs to hit a few chair shots on Page until Strickland delivered a release German, which Hobbs no sold, popping up and mowing down Strickland placing him on the cinderblocks. Hobbs grabbed the chair, but Nana made the save, taking it away. Hobbs splashed him in the corner, as Strickland was about to be spiked with a spinebuster on the cinderblocks, but hooked a guillotine instead. Chair shots to the ribs and back by Strickland, who leapt out of the corner, caught and hit with a World Strongest Slam onto the cinderblocks, but Page broke up the pin attempts. Page fired off shots, tried Dead Eye, but was sent to the apron. HOOK cut off a Buckshot, as The Opps Dojo hit ringside and attacked Page with a pipe.

Crowd chanted bullsh*t as Hobbs chained Strickland & Page up by the throat in the middle of the ring, as Nana got up on the apron and threw hot coffee into Hobbs’ face. Strickland & Page rose up and got free, destroying the Dojo dorks with ease, until Nana was laid out by HOOK ringside with a suplex. Posing on the apron, HOOK was sent crashing to the floor by a charging Hobbs, who missed his mark, as Page tried a Buckshot, but flew into a spinebuster. Strickland came in with a House Call to break the count, went up top and instead of going for Hobbs, he took out the Dojo crew ringside. Page brought Hobbs to the cinderblocks and we get a Swerve Stomp/Dead Eye combo on the blocks. HOOK shoved Page into Strickland and got a school boy for two, as REDRUM was escaped with HOOK trying for a pipe shot, which was blocked by Page, allowing Strickland to fire off a headbutt. With his fist wrapped in the chain, a rolling right hand connected, as Page wrapped HOOK up by the throat with the chain, as Strickland hit a House Call. Buckshot by Page connected, as he threw HOOK over the top with the chain around the neck and HOOK submitted.

Match Result: Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland defeated Powerhouse Hobbs & HOOK when Page submitted HOOK
