Danhausen to make AEW return next week

Danhausen is returning to AEW next week.

On Friday’s Rampage, RJ City announced that viewers had been seeing Danhausen vignettes for the last few weeks, but they wouldn’t see them any longer as Danhausen would be making his return now. Danhausen then appeared, but said that there had been a mistake and instead it would take place “next week”. AEW in a deleted post on X said it would take place on next week’s Rampage, though Danhausen posted on X that he wanted a live microphone on Dynamite.

Vignettes for Danhausen’s return had been airing for the last several weeks. Danhausen’s appearance on Friday marked his first appearance on TV since March, when he injured his pectoral muscle at AEW Revolution. He had been in a four-way match that also featured The Gunns, The Acclaimed, and the team of Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. He had been aligned with the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy prior to his injury.

Danhausen return vignette airs on AEW Rampage

Danhausen is making his return to AEW.

On Friday’s Rampage, a short vignette aired featuring Danhausen singing his catchphrase “very nice, very evil”. He said he was coming back soon. The vignette ended with the phrase “love that Danhausen”.

Danhausen has been out of action with a torn pectoral muscle since AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view back in March. He had teamed with Orange Cassidy on the show, losing to The Gunns in a four-way match that also involved The Acclaimed and Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett in a match that had been for the AEW Tag Team titles. The injury took place right at the finish, then The Gunns laid out Danhausen with their 3:10 to Yuma finish.

Making his debut back in January of 2022, Danhausen first formed an association with Hook. He later formed a friendship with Best Friends and Orange Cassidy, which led to Cassidy & Danhausen teaming together.

Before going to AEW, Danhausen had also been in Ring of Honor before Tony Khan purchased the company.

Danhausen suffers torn pectoral muscle at AEW Revolution

Danhausen revealed on Twitter Thursday that he suffered a torn right pectoral muscle at AEW Revolution.

The popular wrestler didn’t give any indication as to how long he would be out of action for or whether it was a low-grade or high-grade tear. In either case, the injury will keep him out of action for months.

Danhausen teamed with Orange Cassidy to take on AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunns, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal and The Acclaimed at the pay-per-view earlier this month.

That night, he tweeted the following, indicating he sustained the injury on the 3:10 to Yuma spot that ended the match:

He broke his tibia and fibula in an October 2021 indie match that required him to get surgery and have a rod put into his leg. In January 2022, he made a surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite during a lights out match between Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy. Later that night, it was announced that he signed a contract despite still recovering from his injury.

He made his in-ring debut for the company in a short match in May 2022 against Tony Nese and has wrestled nearly exclusively for AEW since then.

Hook & Danhausen vs. Nese & Sterling set for AEW Double or Nothing Buy-In

Hook and Danhausen will team for the first time at the Double or Nothing Buy-In.

The new team will face Tony Nese and ‘Smart’ Mark Sterling prior to Double or Nothing on May 29 in Las Vegas. This stems from tonight’s Dynamite, where Hook saved Danhausen from Nese.

Danhausen faced Nese in a singles match on tonight’s show, with Nese scoring the win in under a minute after Sterling distracted Danhausen. After the match, Sterling instructed Nese to hit Danhausen with another running knee to the corner. Nese was about to oblige when Hook came out, driving Nese and Sterling away. Hook and Danhausen then met face-to-face, with Danhausen extending his hand. Both shook hands to end the segment.

In recent weeks, Danhausen has been looking to befriend Hook after he failed to curse Hook in their initial meeting. On last week’s Rampage, Danhausen asked Hook to be in his corner for the Nese match, offering him some potato chips. Hook ignored Danhausen and walked away.

Here is the current lineup for Double or Nothing on May 29:

  • Hangman Adam Page vs. CM Punk for the AEW World Championship
  • Thunder Rosa vs. Serena Deeb for the AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final
  • Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final
  • Buy-In: Hook and Danhausen vs. Tony Nese and ‘Smart’ Mark Sterling

Danhausen set for AEW in-ring debut against Tony Nese on Dynamite

Danhausen will make his AEW in-ring debut on this week’s Dynamite.

AEW president Tony Khan announced on Twitter that Danhausen will face Tony Nese in his first match for the promotion on Wednesday’s show.

The bout was set up on last week’s AEW programming, with Nese calling out Danhausen in a backstage promo, then followed up with an in-ring segment where Danhausen asked Hook to be in his corner for the match, but Hook declined.

Six matches and two other segments have now been announced for Wednesday’s show in Long Island, New York.

The lineup:

AEW Dynamite, Wednesday, May 11, 8 p.m. Eastern time —

  • Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament quarterfinal: Darby Allin vs. Jeff Hardy
  • Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament quarterfinal: Adam Cole vs. Dax Harwood
  • Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament quarterfinal: Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter
  • CM Punk vs. John Silver
  • FTW Championship: Ricky Starks(c) vs. Jungle Boy

VIDEO: AEW Dynamite post-show segment with Blackpool Combat Club, Ricky Starks

AEW has uploaded footage following tonight’s Rampage, including appearances from the Blackpool Combat Club, Ricky Starks, Danhausen, and more.

You can watch the footage below:

The video starts with Jon Moxley saying he wanted to introduce someone from New Orleans. Danhausen came out, and everyone was perplexed by Danhausen. Moxley didn’t like that Wheeler Yuta knew Danhausen and made him do ten push ups. Danhausen, meanwhile, interacted with William Regal and ended up cursing him.

Bryan Danielson then tried to introduce the real hometown face, but it was Hook instead, entering then exiting the stage. Danielson tried one more time and eventually got the right hometown face, Ricky Starks.

Starks started to cut a promo, but then The Acclaimed came out as Max Caster did his rap. They then ran down everyone in the ring, pointing out their segment last week was the highest rated on Dynamite. Eventually Max Caster entered the ring and everyone took him out. The segment ended with everyone posing for the crowd.

AEW will return on Friday with a live edition of Rampage headlined by Hangman Page defending the AEW World Championship against Adam Cole. Battle of the Belts will also be taped that night.

Mat Men: A Very Evil Beach Breakhausen

The boys are back with another jam packed episode of Mat Men.

The WWE Royal Rumble is this Saturday and there are still some questions to be answered about the show. What big surprises might we get and who will the winners be?

Speaking of surprises, WWE is reportedly looking to bring Ronda Rousey back possibly as early as this weekend. We have the latest on that.

GCW held Wrld on GCW this past Sunday in their first-ever event made available on traditional pay-per-view. There was some good and bad but overall, it was a great sign for the independent scene.

On Wednesday, AEW had an extremely fun show that saw the debut of the “very evil” Danhausen and one of the best ladder matches ever done on free TV between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara.

Plus, we do a WWE television roundup, other news, and your mailbag questions.

Danhausen signs with AEW, appears on Dynamite

Danhausen has officially signed with AEW.

During tonight’s Dynamite, Danhausen made a cameo, appearing under the ring during the Lights Out match between Orange Cassidy and Adam Cole. When Cole went under the ring to grab a chair, Danhausen appeared, clinging onto the chair. This allowed Cassidy to counter with a DDT on a confused Cole as Danhausen walked to the back, leaving Cassidy with a surprised look on his face. Tony Khan later confirmed that Danhausen had signed with the company.

Danhausen previously was part of Ring of Honor, first making sporadic appearances in 2019. The following year, he signed with the company and continued to make appearances until the end of 2021, where everyone’s ROH contracts were allowed to expire while the company underwent the process of shutting down through April of this year.

Back on Halloween night of last year, Danhausen broke his tibia and fibula at a NGW event, where he teamed with Warhorse against Facade and Jason Kincaid.

Danhausen having surgery after breaking tibia and fibula

Independent wrestling star Danhausen is having surgery to have a rod inserted into his leg after suffering a broken tibia and broken fibula this past weekend.

Danhausen took to social media today to explain the injury:

“Danhausen has to get surgeryhausen on Friday. Going to have an inanimate rod placed in his leg.”

No timetable has been given for recovery. Danhausen suffered the injury in a tag match on Sunday’s NGW event in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Mance Warner also suffered a broken tibia and broken fibula while appearing on the same event. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that Warner underwent surgery yesterday to repair his injuries.

NGW tweeted out links in support of both injured wrestlers yesterday:

“If you guys wanna show some love and support to

@ManceWarner and @DanhausenAD there are links below to do so!
