After years away from wrestling, former WWE wrestler Lacey Evans has announced her intention to come back to the sport.
In a recent Instagram video shared, Evans opened up and announced her wrestling return intentions. “I will be returning to wrestling. Yes, the Sassy Southern Belle is on her way back.”
Evans, also known as Macey Estrella, shared that she recently did a signing at WrestleCon where fans constantly asked her about her potential comeback. Evans claimed that this motivated her to gear up for her return. Not seen on television for years now, Evans also shared how her kids want to see her wrestle on television, and she wants to wrestle in front of her kids.
Last seen wrestling in 2023, Evans became involved in exclusive content creation following her departure from WWE. However, now ready to come back, she shared that she will start to get back in ring shape and document her journey along the way.
“I start working with Lacey Evans right out the gate. God bless her, but she wasn’t, you know… For me to go from the main event of WrestleMania to somebody who hadn’t done anything was terrible.”
Evans responded with a series of nine posts on X accusing Lynch of crying and no-selling during the storyline, and mocking Lynch’s path to WWE from the independent wrestling scene.
Dont hate the player. Hate the game. the only person who *shoot cried more than you was the baby I had on my hip while taking all the opportunities.if/when I come back…..you will STILL do nothing but gently shake my hand and say “how cute my little family is” backstage.
The 33-year-old hinted at her departure in a social media post on Monday and our own Dave Meltzer has since confirmed she is done with the company.
Further details regarding her exit are not currently available.
“When the clock strikes 12, you will address me as Macey Estrella from here on out…….oh, and this jacket is up for grabs. Be on the lookout,” she wrote.
“I’ve been a Macey Estrella fan since 2016. Can’t wait to see what’s next!” Evans’ former coach at the WWE Performance Center, Scott Garland, responded to her post.
Evans has changed her handle on Instagram from @LaceyEvansWWE to @LimitlessMacey. Her bio now reads that she was formerly known as WWE’s Lacey Evans.
“World Traveler ✈ FKA WWE Superstar Lacey Evans USMC Veteran Motivational speaker Coffee lover/Creator,” her profile page reads.
Evans served in the Marines for five years before beginning her pro-wrestling training in 2014. She trained with Tom Caiazzo at the American Premier Wrestling training facility in Georgia.
WWE signed Evans in 2016 and she wrestled her first match for the company that October. She was called up to the main roster in early 2019 and made her official televised debut in the Royal Rumble that year.
Ric Flair had an on-screen relationship of sorts with Evans in early 2021 but the storyline came to an end due to her real-life pregnancy.
A series of vignettes featuring Evans talking about her real life aired leading up to her return in April 2022. She would later play up her background in the Marines as part of her character as well. Her last match was a dark match loss to Zelina Vega on the July 7 SmackDown tapings.

WWE
The Rock on Twitter announced that he and James Gunn, the new head of upcoming DC Comics movies, have connected and Black Adam “will not be in their first chapter of storytelling”. He also said that DC and his production company Seven Bucks “have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.”
Gunn wrote in response: “Love @TheRock & I’m always excited to see what he & Seven Bucks do next. Can’t wait to collaborate soon.”
In addition to Andre Chase, who appeared on Monday’s Raw, Axiom from NXT also worked this week’s Main Event tapings.
Tribute to the Troops, which aired on Fox Saturday, scored 612,000 viewers, with a 0.17 in the 18-49 demo.

Some wrestling stars shared their own struggles with ADHD after WWE’s Lacey Evans trended on Twitter after sharing conspiratorial videos regarding ADD and autism. Nick Comoroto wrote on Twitter: “I was diagnosed with ADHD at 6 years old and it still affects me today. A diet won’t fix it, you don’t outgrow it but its never stopped me from chasing my dreams. This is not something new and we’ve always been here. They just called us that “weird” kid.”
Mikey Ruckus, who produces music tracks for AEW, wrote: “I live with ADHD. Some days are good, others are not so good. How about a round table discussion. Maybe we can talk about living with ADHD, how some of us developed self coping mechanisms, and how we turned what some see as a hindrance into a tool that drives us.”
Athena on social media demonstrated how she made her ring jacket she wore at Final Battle.
After sharing a video on Instagram focused on conspiracy theories surrounding autism and attention deficit disorder (ADD), WWE’s Lacey Evans deleted the post and then defended it on Twitter before deleting that as well.
The video featured two men from an alternative health media outlet disputing diagnosis numbers for both autism and ADD, claiming those types of disabilities didn’t exist until a certain period of time, pointing to processed foods as a reason.
Evans deleted the video and in replying to a Sean Ross Sapp tweet about it, said, “I watched a video on the impact of processed food is having on our children and I shared the video. yall are insane.”
According to the World Health Organization, one in 100 children are autistic while millions of children and adults worldwide have been diagnosed with different versions of ADD/ADHD.
Evans is a member of the SmackDown roster and is undergoing another repackaging. She has wrestled just three times in the last four months with two of those matches coming in September.
Liv Morgan’s challenger for Extreme Rules is set to be determined on SmackDown tonight.
WWE has announced that Ronda Rousey, Sonya Deville, Natalya, Xia Li, and Lacey Evans will face off in a fatal five-way elimination match on tonight’s SmackDown. The winner will challenge for Morgan’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules on Saturday, October 8.
Morgan won the SmackDown Women’s Championship by cashing in on Rousey at Money in the Bank this July. Morgan then retained against Rousey at SummerSlam, but the match had a disputed finish where the referee missed Morgan tapping out to an armbar.
In storyline, Rousey was suspended for attacking a referee after her SummerSlam match against Morgan. She was officially reinstated from the suspension last week.
Morgan defeated Shayna Baszler to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Clash at the Castle last Saturday.
WWE has also announced an eight-man tag match for tonight’s SmackDown. The Street Profits will team with Hit Row against Maximum Male Models & Los Lotharios.
Tonight’s show is being held at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Here’s the updated lineup:

Lacey Evans qualified for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on tonight’s SmackDown, while the first men’s qualifying match ended without a winner.
Evans defeated Xia Li on tonight’s SmackDown to qualify. A second qualifying match, Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre for a spot in the men’s ladder match, ended in a double count out after the two brawled outside of the ring. Later in the show both McIntyre and Sheamus complained about the result to WWE official Adam Pearce. However, a follow up regarding both McIntyre and Sheamus’ status for Money in the Bank never materialized.
The winners of the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank match will receive a briefcase with a title match that can be cashed in at any time during the next year. Last year’s winners were Big E and Nikki A.S.H., both of whom were successful in winning their championship match.
Here is the current lineup for Money in the Bank, which takes place July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas:
Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s Championship
Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, with Lacey Evans qualifying
The field for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches will begin to take shape on SmackDown this Friday night.
WWE has announced that two Money in the Bank qualifying matches will take place on this week’s episode of SmackDown. Drew McIntyre will face Sheamus in a men’s qualifying match, and Lacey Evans will take on Xia Li in a women’s qualifying match.
McIntyre and Sheamus have been on opposite sides of six-man tag team matches on SmackDown the past two weeks. McIntyre, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods won the first meeting before The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch) defeated them the next week.
This will be Evans’ first match in more than a year. After going on maternity leave, Evans gave birth last October.
WWE has flipped back and forth on which roster Evans is going to be part of in her return. Promos leading to her comeback began airing on SmackDown this April. Evans was then moved to the Raw roster before being moved back to SmackDown.
Money in the Bank is taking place in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 2.
Here’s the updated lineup for this Friday’s SmackDown:
Intercontinental Champion Ricochet defends against Gunther
Money in the Bank qualifying match: Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus
Money in the Bank qualifying match: Lacey Evans vs. Xia Li
Max Dupri reveals the first client of his Maximum Male Models agency
WWE has once again announced Lacey Evans’ return to the ring.
Evans in action against an unnamed opponent is set for next week’s WWE SmackDown. The announcement was made during this week’s episode.
After a series of vignettes in April and May, Evans had been slated to return to the SmackDown roster after more than a year away on maternity leave, and appeared on that show on May 6.
The following Monday, Evans was moved to the Raw brand. She then appeared on the May 16 Raw and delivered an in-ring promo. After not appearing on the May 23 Raw, Evans was announced for her return match on the May 30 Raw. That match did not take place, and Evans was reportedly moved back to the SmackDown roster this week.
An Intercontinental title match between Ricochet and Gunther, plus Max Dupri debuting his first Maximum Male Models client have also been announced for next week.
The lineup:
WWE SmackDown, Friday, June 10 —
Intercontinental Championship: Ricochet (c) vs. Gunther
Lacey Evans in action
Max Dupri debuts the first Maximum Male Models client
Plans continue to change when it comes to Lacey Evans returning to the ring in WWE.
After being slated for SmackDown, then moved to Raw, Evans is now again a part of the SmackDown roster. PWInsider reports that WWE has shifted Evans back to SmackDown after moving her to Raw last month.
Evans’ re-debut after maternity leave was originally slated for SmackDown, and a series of vignettes aired on the show over several weeks in April and May. Evans made one appearance on SmackDown in front of a live crowd on May 6, then was shifted to Raw the following week.
Evans delivered an in-ring promo on Raw on May 16, did not appear on the May 23 Raw, then her re-debut match was advertised for the May 30 episode, but did not take place.
Evans’ most recently wrestled on the February 15, 2021 Raw, tagging with Peyton Royce against Charlotte Flair and Asuka. Evans went on maternity leave later that month, then gave birth to her second child in October 2021.
Lacey Evans will return to the ring for her first match in over a year on next week’s WWE Raw.
Evans’ return to action was the only thing announced for next week’s Raw during this week’s episode. No opponent was announced for Evans.
Evans last wrestled on the February 15, 2021 episode of Raw, teaming with Peyton Royce in a tag team bout against Asuka and Charlotte Flair. Evans went on maternity leave later that month, and gave birth to her second child in October 2021.
A series of vignettes announcing the imminent return of Evans to WWE programming began on SmackDown in April 2022. In the series of videos, Evans told her life story, and was presented as a sympathetic babyface.
Evans re-debuted on the May 6 episode of SmackDown, and was seemingly reintroduced as a heel character. An Evans vignette then aired on the May 9 Raw, and it was reported that she had been moved to the Raw brand.
Evans cut an in-ring promo on the May 16 Raw episode, but did not appear on this week’s show.
Wrestling Observer Live with Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive is back with tons to talk about including Lacey Evans apparently turning heel, Kota Ibushi having issues with New Japan, RAW from Monday night with the follow-up to WrestleMania Backlash and tons more. A fun show as always so check it out~!
Lacey Evans is now a member of the WWE Raw roster.
Starting in April, videos began airing on SmackDown with Evans telling her life story of how she overcame growing up in an abusive family where her father had mental health and addiction issues. But — for the first time since they began airing — one of Evans’ promos was shown on Raw last night. It recapped the story she has told up to this point.
PWInsider reports that the reason the video aired last night is because Evans has switched brands and is now on Raw. PWInsider noted that Evans is going to be a heel going forward.
“WWE has officially moved Lacey Evans to the Raw roster, PWInsider.com has confirmed,” the report said.
“Despite all the videos that have been used to build her return, Evans is going to be a heel going forward.”
Evans announced in February 2021 that she was pregnant with her second child. She gave birth to a baby girl last October.
Evans made her in-person return on SmackDown last Friday, where she was introduced and briefly appeared in front of the live crowd. Though she appeared to be a babyface in her interactions with the fans, ring announcer Samantha Irvin said while introducing her that Evans had asked the audience to “show the proper respect.”
