Kofi Kingston update following WWE Raw

An update on Kofi Kingston following WWE Raw.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Kingston isn’t on the internal injury list after getting hit with a knee during his match Monday night against LA Knight.

“Kofi got rocked with a knee on RAW, but wasn’t listed on the internal injury report after the show, so apparently he’s OK,” he wrote.

The match was set up earlier in the night when LA Knight told Adam Pearce he wanted a World Championship match, noting he was the last person to pin Seth Rollins. The New Day interrupted asking for their own World Tag team title match. Knight attempted to dismiss them, but Kingston said he is the only one with World title experience. Knight said he’d be World Champion pretty soon and asked Pearce to set up the match, which he did.

The New Day in recent weeks have formed an association with Grayson Waller, who has served as a third man of sorts. They have usually been involved in comedy skits, asking other wrestlers to sign a petition banning the Mexican Destroyer that Penta has used on all three men.

Longtime Pro Wrestling NOAH star leaving company

A longtime Pro Wrestling NOAH star is departing the company.

NOAH announced Tuesday morning that Go Shiozaki, who aside from a few years spent most of his career with the company, will be leaving as of September 30.

“Following discussions initiated by Go Shiozaki, it has been decided that his contract with PRO WRESTLING NOAH will not be renewed. As of today, the contract has officially expired,” the company wrote on social media.

Shiozaki’s last match was during the N-1 Victory tour on September 23, where he teamed with Atsushi Kotoge, Kazuyuki Fujita, and Mohammed Yone to defeat Harutoki, Kaito Kiyomiya, Naomichi Marufuji, and Shuhei Taniguchi.

Graduating from the Pro Wrestling NOAH dojo in 2003, Shiozaki has spent most of his career in the company, where he held the GHC Heavyweight title on five different occasions and won the N-1 Victory tournament in 2023. He briefly left the company in 2013 to join All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he held the Triple Crown title once before returning to NOAH in 2015, where he remained up until Tuesday.

ROH World title match set for Friday’s CMLL event

The next ROH World title defense is in a matter of days.

CMLL has revealed the card for their upcoming show in Mexico City this Friday in Arena Mexico. In the semifinal, Bandido will defend the ROH World Championship against Hechicero. This will be a rematch from Death Before Dishonor in August that saw Bandido retain the championship in a match of the year contender.

Since returning from injury, Bandido has kept a busy schedule, wrestling not only for AEW and ROH but also CMLL, where he has become a regular. Alongside Brody King, Brodido successfully defended the AEW Tag Team titles against Difunto and Zandokan Jr. on September 12. A few days later, they also successfully defended the titles in a four-way ladder match at All Out.

This Friday’s Arena Mexico show will be headlined by a women’s trios match that will see Olympia team up with India Sioux and La Catalina to take on Lluvia, Princesa Sugehit, and Candela.

Roman Reigns returns, confronts The Vision on WWE Raw

The OTC is back once again.

The Usos were wrestling Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed in a tornado tag match on Raw when Reigns returned for the first time since Clash in Paris. He picked up where he left off, attacking both Reed, who was eventually sent into the crowd, and Breakker, who Reigns hit with several steel chair shots. The Usos picked up the win after hitting a double Samoan splash for the victory.

After the match, Reigns greeted Jey and shook his hand, seemingly approving of his recent actions all while ignoring Jimmy, who looked on in the background confused as the show went off the air.

Recent weeks have shown Jey Uso express a more aggressive side, taking out LA Knight despite The Usos and Knight both feuding with The Vision. In a backstage segment earlier on Raw, Jimmy asked Jey why he didn’t help him or LA last week when The Vision attacked them. Jey responded by asking Jimmy why he helped LA, as Jey got the win over him in their match and that was that. He said that if he won more matches he could be World Champion again, something Jimmy didn’t get. Jey eventually cooled down and told Jimmy to forget about Knight so they could take care of the Brons, shaking hands.

New tag team match added to WWE Crown Jewel

A new match is official for Crown Jewel.

It was made official on Raw that IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley will team up in Australia next month to take on The Kabuki Warriors. This follows events that took place last week when Asuka and Kairi Sane turned against SKY, as well as the opening segment on this week’s Raw.

Ripley opened the show wanting to confront The Kabuki Warriors. SKY came out, however, and said that while she was right about Asuka and Kairi, she didn’t want this to happpen as they are still family to her. A video then aired of Asuka saying she’d forgive SKY if she apologized. Asuka and Kairi then attacked Ripley from behind. SKY hesitated, but eventually joined in and defended Ripley, eventually getting misted by Asuka for her efforts.

Later, Kairi Sane backstage pleaded with SKY to apologize to Asuka. After SKY told her to go away, Kairi handed her a photograph of the three together, attempting to mend fences. But in another backstage promo, SKY had made up her mind, telling Ripley that she talked to Adam Pearce and set up the tag team match for October 11 in Perth, Australia.

Here is the updated card for Crown Jewel:

WWE Crown Jewel (October 11, 2025):

  • Men’s Crown Jewel title match: WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. World Champion Seth Rollins
  • Women’s Crown Jewel title match: WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer
  • John Cena vs. AJ Styles
  • Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY vs. The Kabuki Warriors

Sting’s son to make pro wrestling debut next month

Sting’s son is making his wrestling debut.

It was announced in a press release that Steven Borden, son of the WWE Hall of Famer and AEW star, would be making his debut next month as part of a 52W Hardway art exhibit by artist Raymond Pettibon in association with Darby Allin and AEW backstage personnel Charlie Ramone. The exhibit will feature live wrestling and music inside the art gallery on October 3 and 10.

Ticket information for the shows can be found here.

Shortly after Sting had his retirement match at last year’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view, Darby Allin told Fightful that Borden was training with him to become a professional wrestler. A former NFL prospect, Borden appeared at Revolution dressed as his father during his association with the nWo Wolfpac stable. Later that year, Borden on the Von Erichs podcast said that he had been training with Allin, Adam Copeland, and FTR in preparation for an in-ring debut.

Along with Borden, it was announced that Allin, Killer Kross, AR Fox, Sid Ellington, Kiran Grey, and Timothy Thatcher will also be a part of the live wrestling shows.

WWE WrestleMania performer Bad Bunny to headline Super Bowl LX halftime show

Bad Bunny will be at next year’s Super Bowl.

The Grammy Award winning performer announced on social media Sunday that he will be the headline performer for this year’s halftime show, which will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It will air on February 8 on NBC and stream on Peacock.

In his announcement, Bunny posted a video of himself sitting on a field goal.

To wrestling fans, Bunny is best known for his association with the WWE, winning the 24/7 Championship in 2021. At WrestleMania 37, he teamed with Damian Priest in his pro wrestling debut, defeating John Morrison and The Miz.

In 2023, he returned to WWE when it was announced that he would be the host of that year’s Backlash PLE, which was held in Puerto Rico. Priest, who had since turned heel and joined the Judgment Day, ended up attacking his former friend. The two met in a San Juan Street Fight at Backlash, with Bad Bunny scoring the win in front of his home country.

Tony Khan comments on WWE counter-programming AEW events

Tony Khan is making it work.

While talking to Going Ringside with Scott Johnson, AEW’s president said that despite WWE making moves to counterprogram their big shows this year, the company has been able to make everything work despite the competition.

“Well, we’ve been having a great year. We’ve been able to stick and move and make it work really well for us. There’s always going to be tough competition and this sport, it’s very tough competition, the kind of competition that makes you work really hard 52 weeks a year,” he said.

Khan noted that the company has been having a great year, putting over their strong ratings. He noted that more people are watching Dynamite and Collision than last year, the opposite of what analysts predicted.

WWE has often run programming to go head-to-head with AEW, and in the last year has used NXT to run shows against AEW’s pay-per-views on the same day. WWE’s biggest move was running their first ESPN PLE, Wrestlepalooza, against AEW’s All Out event. AEW chose to move their event to the afternoon. The move seemed to be a success, as the show held up well in buys despite WWE’s aggressive move.

MLW takes shot at WWE’s Saudi Arabia ties during Fury Road

MLW took a shot at WWE during their Fury Road event on Saturday.

Cesar Duran, the on-screen figurehead of MLW, took time at the start of Fury Road show to address the crowd. While not mentioning the company by name, one line clearly was a shot at WWE’s recent announcement of WrestleMania 43 taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2027.

“You love Major League Wrestling, and Major League Wrestling loves you,” Duran said. We have a legacy in the making tonight. And while some other company packed up their big show and shipped it to Saudi Arabia to take that blood money, we come here with the real deal right here in Texas!”

WWE has continued to receive criticism from fans over their relationship with Saudi Arabia, which began back in 2018. Despite this, parent company TKO has only deepened ties to the country in the last year, forming a new boxing promotion with Saudi Arabia as a key backer.

Top matches from Fury Road saw Austin Aries defeat KUSHIDA in a first-round Opera Cup match, Satoshi Kojima defating Mr. Thomas, and MLW World Champion Mads Kruger going to a no contest against Bishop Dyer (Baron Corbin).

NJPW Destruction in Kobe notes: New champions crowned, NOAH, King of Pro Wrestling

News and notes stemming from Sunday morning’s NJPW Destruction in Kobe.

New IWGP Tag Team Champions were crowned at Destruction, with The Knockout Brothers (Yuto-Ice & OSKAR) defeating Tomohiro Ishii and Taichi to win the titles for the first time. They pinned Ishii after they hit their finish, the KOB. After the match, Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura came out and confronted the new champions, setting up a potential title match down the road.

Other matches were also set up during the show. After Boltin Oleg defeated Don Fale to retain the NEVER Openweight title, EVIL attacked him and made his claim for the title by laying out Oleg with the Everything is Evil. After the opening bout, DOUKI made it clear he wanted the next shot at Desperado’s IWGP Junior Heavyweight title. The two had a match earlier this year at Wrestle Kingdom, but it ended early after DOUKI suffered an elbow injury early into the match.

In the co-main event, Gabe Kidd defeated Shingo Takagi to retain the IWGP Global Championship. After the match, Yota Tsuji, who was successful against David Finlay in the previous match, came out and challenged Kidd for the title at King of Pro Wrestling on October 13.

Pro Wrestling NOAH stars also appeared to promote the group’s upcoming Wrestle Odyssey event on October 11 at Sumo Hall. After Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Great-O-Khan, Kaito Kiyomiya came out and asked to team with him at the upcoming show, which Tanahashi accepted. Later in the night, NOAH’s Eita superkicked Hiromu Takahashi after he successfully retained the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship against Taiji Ishimori. The two are planned to square off for the title at Sumo Hall.

The main event saw Zack Sabre Jr. successfully defend the title against House of Torture’s Ren Narita. Despite the usual interference from the group, Sabre pinned Narita with the Zack Driver for the win. That makes his upcoming title match against Konosuke Takeshita official for King of Pro Wrestling.

During Saturday’s live television event in Mexico City, three matches were set up for Heroes Inmortales on October 25. Dominik Mysterio, who was on commentary, confronted Lee after the match and the two had a staredown as the show concluded.

Earlier in the show, Faby Apache defeated Flammer in a non-title match. That sets up a rematch from Triplemania for Heroes Inmortales, as Apache will now face champion Flammer and Natalya in a triple threat match for the Reina de Reinas title.

Pagano & Psycho Clown were successful on Saturday, retaining the AAA Tag Team titles against El Mesias and Mecha Wolf. After the match, they cut a promo saying that while they are injured, they still want to face the Wyatt Sicks, who attacked them at Worlds Collide earlier this month. A video then played featuring the Wyatt Sicks, revealing the date of their future match, October 25.

Notes from Saturday’s NXT No Mercy event.

The big news coming out of No Mercy came from NXT General Manager Ava, who announced the NXT Invasion special for October 7 on The CW. Two Survivor Series-style matches will take place, one with men and the other with women. Stars from both promotions such as Myles Borne, Lash Legend, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Mike Santana all expressed interest in participating.

Lola Vice didn’t end up winning the NXT Women’s Championship on Saturday thanks to a masked person drilling her with a running kneestrike as she was recovering on the outside. Vice managed to enter the ring to avoid a count-out, but ended up walking into a rolling encore by Jacy Jayne, who retained the title. Earlier in the night, Laney Reid was interviewed and revealed that she was wearing a foot cast, putting her out of action. Vice ran into Lane and the two exchanged words.

Ethan Page was also victorious at No Mercy, defeating Tavion Heights to retain the North American title. As he was celebrating in the ring, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. appeared on the video screen. He said that while Page had his eye on the AAA Latin American title, he had his eye on the NXT North American title.

The two met earlier this month at Worlds Collide, where Wagner emerged victorious in a four-way match that was for the Latin American title.

Match added for next WWE NXT

A new match is set for Tuesday’s NXT.

Jaida Parker and Lash Legend will have another match following the events of the No Mercy PLE from Saturday night. Additionally, NXT GM Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella will name their teams for the upcoming Invasion elimination matches set for October 7.

Parker ended up being the surprise replacement for Laney Reid, who was announced as being unable to compete against Sol Ruca for the Women’s Speed title. In the closing moments of the match, Lash Legend came out and fought with Parker and Zaria, who speared Legend at ringside. The distraction allowed Ruca to hit the sol snatcher on Parker to retain her title.

Later in the night, Legend came out and expressed interest the upcoming Invasion elimination match. Parker soon emerged and the two got into another brawl as security had to step in.

Earlier in the night, Ava announced that she had spoke to Santino and the two agreed to an Invasion special on The CW on October 7. New champion crowned at WWE NXT No Mercy

A new NXT Champion has been crowned.

Ricky Saints ended up being the person to topple Oba Femi at Saturday’s No Mercy premium live event, defeating The Ruler of NXT to win the NXT Championship for the first time. The finish came when Starks kicked out of Femi’s fall from grace powerbomb. Femi went for the move a second time, but Saints cut off Femi with a DDT. He then followed with a tornado DDT to win the match and the championship.

NXT No Mercy closed with Saints celebrating with the championship.

Femi had held the title for most of 2025, winning it from Trick Williams back at NXT New Year’s Evil on January 7.

Saints started making his claim for the NXT Championship following Heatwave, which saw Femi retain against Je’Von Evans. However, the last few weeks had seen Femi confront former foe Williams, leading to a TNA title vs. NXT title match on this past Tuesday’s NXT. No winner emerged after the NXT and TNA locker rooms emptied leading to an interpromotional brawl. Saints had his focus on the NXT title, but Femi emerged and the two had a staredown in the closing moments of the program.

Additionally, Ava announced that Darkstate will meet The Hardys in a title for title match. She said unlike the title for title match on the last episode of NXT, everyone will be barred from ringside and there must be a winner.

Tensions started to flare between the two promotions two weeks ago when it was announced that TNA Champion Trick Williams would face NXT Champion Oba Femi.
